It appears like two 2020 Hip Hop MVP candidates are really planning to officially unite in 2021. Atlanta’s Lil Baby and Chicago’s Lil Durk have been teasing an upcoming collaborative mixtape.
Earlier this month, Lil Baby posted on his Instagram Story, “Aye y’all tell @LILDURK let’s drop the tape fucc.” Durk then responded on his IG Story, “If we drop a tape the streets gonna be in a headlock fasho.”
Baby was asked about the potential joint project during a pre-Grammy Awards interview with MTV News that was published on YouTube this week. The conversation included “The Bigger Picture” rapper confirming that a 4PF-OTF alliance is in the works.
“Me and Durk be locked in every night. That’s the new one. We coming. Me and Durk are dropping an album for sure,” stated Lil Baby. He also said that his Lamborghini Boys compilation is coming too following delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the Quality Control Music representative, the Baby-Durk rap duo does not have an official title for their collaborative mixtape yet but it could be named The Voice of the Heroes. Lil Baby also declared, “It’s gonna be one of the craziest albums to ever come out.”
Plus, Baby told MTV News’ Dometi Pongo that he and Lil Durk have more than one album worth of music already recorded. The 2019 BET Awards Best New Artist winner also made it a point to say they will present bars and vibes on the upcoming shared body of work.
R&B vocalist Keyshia Cole was one-half of one of the most successful Verzuz matchups to date. Back in January, Cole and fellow songstress, Ashanti, set a new viewership record for the music series.
Over 6 million people tuned in for that friendly clash. Cole even debuted the song “I Don’t Want to Be in Love” during the Instagram/Apple Music livestream.
KC may have presented a new tune for the Verzuz audience two months ago, but it seems like the Oakland native is ready to call it quits from the music business altogether. She expressed that sentiment on Twitter yesterday.
One social media user told Cole, “[You’re] winning right now Keyshia your new single is buzzing up the charts you should be top 20 next week! Stay focused u got this!!” The 39-year-old singer/songwriter responded, “I’m retiring.”
After another online fan said Keyshia Cole needs to drop at least three more projects before stepping away, the Just like You album creator replied, “I’m not lying.” She did reassure her followers that one more body of work is coming in the future.
“I’m already contracted to do so, I wouldn’t do that to @BMG, myself, or my fans. But I’m gonna have to move at my pace with this one. #Album8,” tweeted Cole when someone expressed disappointment over possibly not getting another album from the former reality television star.
Additionally, the BMG Rights Management-affiliated recording artist wrote that she is “contractually obligated” to release one more album. Cole also insisted that she will continue to perform live on tour even after she is done putting out new music.
Keyshia Cole added, “#stimnyHitsAccount RETIREMENT SOUNDS GOOD [face with tears of joy emoji]. This is funny! Hella! Just thought I’d join in on the fun. I’m serious about retirement… [crossed fingers emoji] but this is funny [face with tears of joy emoji].” She later tweeted that her children are the main reason for the forthcoming pullback from making music.
No. I’m already contracted to do so, I wouldn’t do that to @BMG ,myself, or my fans. But I’m gonna have to move at my pace with this one. #Album8https://t.co/vipFum06xz
Earlier this year, Famous Dex reportedly completed a rehabilitation program for drug addiction. The man born Dexter Gore Jr. even began teasing the release of new weekly music videos following his return to social media.
It appears the Chicago-raised rhymer’s recent positive turnaround hit a snag in Los Angeles, California. Dexter had a run-in with law enforcement this week which led to his arrest.
The rapper was riding in the backseat of a car when LAPD pulled it over Tuesday night in North Hollywood for not having a rear license plate. We’re told Dex tried to get out and walk away during the traffic stop, but cops detained him and decided to search the vehicle. It’s unclear what prompted the officers’ search, but during it, our sources say a loaded gun was found under Dex’s seat, so he was arrested for carrying a concealed firearm.
Famous Dex was booked for a felony charge on March 16. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s website, the 27-year-old 300 Entertainment recording artist has a bail set at a total amount of $90,000.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Department, Michael Sullivan has been charged with killing his own father. Sullivan is the half-brother of Rae Sremmurd’s Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee.
Floyd Sullivan Jr., 62, died in January 2020 from gunshot wounds. His son is now facing felony first-degree murder in Mississippi. Michael Sullivan, 20, was first booked on January 7, 2020.
TMZ reports that prosecutors are not seeking the death penalty in this case, but Michael could be sentenced to life in prison if convicted. First Circuit District Attorney John Weddle told the outlet the defendant was indicted following a grand jury hearing in January.
Michael Sullivan, Slim Jxmmi (born Aaquil Brown), and Swae Lee (born Khalif Brown) all have the same mother. Floyd Sullivan is Jxmmi and Swae’s step-father. Last year, the three brothers’ mother addressed the violent situation allegedly involving her son.
Last week, Soulja Boy was spending some of his time feuding with WWE wrestler Randy Orton. This week, the “Crank That” hitmaker is once again focusing on one of his favorite targets – Drake.
Soulja Boy infamously went viral in 2019 for his appearance on The Breakfast Club. That interview birthed the “Drake?!?!” meme after the rapper born DeAndre Cortez Way tried to make the case that he had the best comeback of 2018.
At the time, Soulja also pointed out that Drake’s “Miss Me” interpolated the lyrics and the flow from his own song “What’s Hannenin’” which was inspired by D4L’s “I’m Da Man.” SB brought up that connection again on Twitter.
“That n#### Drake is hilarious. Dude stole my whole bar then thanked Bow Wow [rolling on the floor laughing emoji],” tweeted Soulja on Wednesday afternoon. His tweet collected more than 10,000 retweets and 37,000 likes.
Young Draco’s message was a reaction to a recent video posted by Drake where the Canadian superstar thanked Bow Wow for opening doors for him. Apparently, Soulja Boy felt a way about not getting flowers from his “We Made It” collaborator.
That n#### drake is hilarious. Dude stole my whole bar then thanked bow wow 🤣
People around the world were hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. A countless number of jobs were lost and many businesses were closed. The entertainment industry essentially shut down for months.
Waka Flocka Flame talked about the financial hardships he faced as coronavirus took over the planet. On an episode of Waka & Tammy: What The Flocka, the rapper explained to his mother how COVID hurt his bottom line.
“I ain’t do no shows in like three months… I’m broke,” Waka told Deb Antney. “If you don’t make money, technically, you don’t got money… I lost millions… I go back to zero every year, and this year is not looking good.”
The 34-year-old reality television star then further addressed his finances during a confessional interview for the WE tv program. According to Waka, he is now on the path towards fixing his money situation.
“Literally, I lost millions. My broke is different broke. My broke, people say, is their rich,” stated Waka. “But what I am gonna do is figure out new business ventures. I’m just going with the wind. I’m going with the water. I ain’t goin’ against the ocean.”

A wanted man was busted near the home of vice President Kamala Harris earlier today (March 17th).
The US secret service said they received a tip about a man named Paul murray, 31, who had traveled from San Antonio to Washington D.C.
Agents caught up with him near the vp’s house outside of the navel observatory, where Harris’s residence is located.
The police found a rifle and ammunition inside of Murray’s car, which was parked in a garage in a different section of Washington DC according to NBC4.
Thankfully, VP Harris was nowhere near her home, since it is currently undergoing renovations.
She is currently staying at the Blair house, which is much closer to the white house.
According to reports, Murray was hit with a number of weapons charges, including carrying a gun outside of a business, possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device, and possession of unregistered ammunition.
Meek Mill and Drake have a storied history together at this point. There is no beef between the two right now. And that is a good thing. However, a few years ago they were at war and nothing was off-limits. Drake came at Meek and Meek came at Drake or was it the other way around? Nevertheless I can’t remember. What I do remember, is Meek Mill unearth the fact that Drake had used reference tracks from Quentin Miller. This was previously unknown to most of us, but I guess the insiders knew a little bit more.
In an upcoming episode of Drink Champs, Nore, DJ EFN and DJ Drama talk about the controversy. I am quite sure they talk about a bunch of things in their interview but they are definitely going to talk about how DJ Drama was the one that fed Meek the music and audio that dimmed Drakes star just a little bit. He was the one that revealed that Drake had used someone else’s pen (or iPhone note) for some of his songs. Now, we love Drake so that’s not get to hating him but this is a key piece of Drake’s information!
But the real question is why would DJ Drama insert himself into such a hot beef, that is over? Well, it’s very simple: Drake smashed a girl he was seeing. That’s right, it was all over a girl. I am not going to be hating on DJ Drama because he clearly liked the girl enough to be p##### over it. And if he liked the girl enough that he was willing to completely eliminate Drake from his circle of rap buddies, so be it. He stood on the square of truth! The girl clearly was NOT loving him the same way. Some people are already in their feelings about the interview because it is quite gossipy, but isn’t everything these days?
Bloomberg is reporting that Kanye West may actually be on his way to becoming a billionaire after all.
The news outlet has shared that the UBS Group AG has estimated the value of two of his most lucrative ventures, Adidas AG and Gap Inc., which are valued at $3.2 billion to $4.7 billion.
This summer, the bank is projecting that by the summer the Gap deal alone will be worth about $970 million.
Based on this report, many want to dig deeper into Kanye’s business dealings, which became public last year during his historic run to be the president of the United States.
However, according to the report neither company, Adidas or Gap Inc., cared to comment on the particulars and UBS also declined to explain their research.
Some facts are public knowledge. Like Gap’s hefty expectation of their partnership with the 28-time Grammy Award-winning artist. The company is expecting $150 million in sales by 2022 and those figures could exceed $1 billion as soon as 2023.
And Kanye’s highly sought-after sneakers, Yeezy’s, have grown 31% and accounted for $1.7 billion of the brand’s 2020 annual revenue. From this, it is projected that Yeezy will net $191 million in royalties.
Kanye also holds $.1.7 billions in other assets, including the company SKIMS with his soon-to-be ex-wife, Kim Kardashian.
We know that Kanye has been itching to be in the exclusive club with Jay-Z and Dr. Dre. Do you think he will make it before Nas, who is reportedly on his way to his first “b?”
Money Mu is on a mission to become one of the greats in the rap game and he’s got the success to support his ambition.
Hailing from Atlanta’s Eastside, Stone Mountain to be exact, the rising star is a rare breed in the music industry, coming a long way from rhyming over beats on lunch tables in elementary and high school to now recording at some of his city’s most legendary studios where plaques from icons like Beyoncé, Outkast, Jay-Z and Tupac decorate the walls.
Describing himself as a “young hustler,” Mu grew up listening to Gucci, Jeezy, T.I., Boosie and Future, that Southern trap. He states, “I’ve been through the whole Eastside of the A, I’m out here grinding. Money Mu be still face, still straight, and the biggest believer you ever seen.”
Last year, Mu unleashed the official remix to his standout single “Hittin,” reeling in Moneybagg Yo and Foogiano. The song’s official music video has over 38 million views to date, and continues to be the go-to turn up anthem for any function or event.
In fact, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers played “Hittin” in the locker room after their Super Bowl win, with artists from Lil Boosie to Trina posting IG videos vibing to the record.
Soon, you may even hear the song in an upcoming episode of television show “Step Up” on Starz, starring Christina Milian.
AllHipHop caught up with Money Mu, who was posted in his hometown of Atlanta.
AllHipHop: What was the household like growing up in Atlanta’s Eastside?
Money Mu: At a young age, for me it was calm. I was training for basketball, coolin’, hanging out with the gang, smoking good; just coolin’. As I got older, when I hopped out, it was really about getting some money on the Eastside. We about getting some money for real for real, do what you gotta do to eat.
AllHipHop: At what point did you realize this music thing was forreal?
Money Mu: I’ve always been into music but I realized I could do it professionally when I saw my homie Mondo producing, not rapping but making the beats. When I saw how he was making some money off it, he was explaining to me how I could. That’s when I realized I could do it too. It took a little bit of time for it to start coming, though but I believed in what I was doing.
AllHipHop: What was the inspiration behind your name?
Money Mu: I had different rap names. Really, I was Money Mu when everything started happening. When I started getting some motion, when I started making some money, they already knew me as Money Mu. It stuck from there.
AllHipHop: How much money you got on you at all times?
Money Mu: A couple bands. I don’t carry a lot of money, for real for real. Unless I’m doing something, I don’t carry a lot. I’ma keep it though.
AllHipHop: “Hittin’” remix with Moneybagg Yo & Foogiano going up. How’s it feel to have it go up, a song from 2017?
Money Mu: It’s a blessing. I feel real grateful and thankful that a song from back then is still going. It feels real good. Makes you feel like everything you went through was worth it, all the work we’re putting in is blessing us now.
AllHipHop: When you recorded the record, what was Money Mu like then?
Money Mu: Back then, I wasn’t really focused on music. I was more focused on getting some money back then, less on this rap s###. I was the same n*gga though, fasho. I was one foot in and one foot out. I had one foot in the streets, one foot in with the music.
AllHipHop: What inspired the record?
Money Mu: The lingo. In the A, lingo stays coming. Every month, we have new lingo. “Hittin’” was something we say all the time. I knew I was going to make a song about it. In that week, I made a lot of songs. That day, I made 4 songs and it was one of ‘em. I didn’t even think anything of it at first, I thought it was just another song I made.
AllHipHop: How did you get Bagg and Foogiano on it?
Money Mu: That came about when I collabed with Authentic Empire, with Boomman. When I collabed with them, we came together. The first thing we was going to do was the “Hittin’” remix. We reached out to them, we felt they’d go hard on it. They both came through that same day, put a verse down the same day, and we shot the video two hours later. That was hard.
AllHipHop: Where was it shot?
Money Mu: We shot it at a park. We were on the Southside, I don’t even think I’d ever been to that park. But we shot it there in the parking lot thuggin’. We had at least 150 people out there, it was lit. The whole thing was epic for real. For me, it was a new experience. I never did anything like that, at least not that caliber.
Money Mu
AllHipHop: How’s it feel to have artists such as Lil Boosie, 42 Dugg and BRS Kash make videos vibing to the record?
Money Mu: It feels great to see that folks really like it, that’s too hard. I love to see that, it keeps me motivated.
AllHipHop: What was your reaction when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers played it in the locker room after winning SuperBowl LV?
Money Mu: That was hard, you know? I was excited about that for sure. To see that they was rocking with it like that was definitely exciting.
AllHipHop: “Hittin'” will be featured on an upcoming episode of the STARZ series, Step Up, starring Christina Milian. How’s that feel?
Money Mu: I’m really excited to catch that episode. I’m guessing they’re gonna be dancing to it so that’s gonna be cool to see.
AllHipHop: What is it you want fans to get from your story?
Money Mu: I want ‘em to always remember to believe: believe in what they stand on and believe in themselves. Keep pushing, keep going, keep believing. Believe. I re-released a single I recorded a few years ago and it’s become a hit, all because I believed in the record and its potential. I just want my supporters to not give up on their dreams or themselves.
AllHipHop: 3 things you need in the studio?
Money Mu: I need weed, water, and a vibe. A good engineer.
AllHipHop: Do you freestyle or do you write everything down?
Money Mu: I freestyle mostly. I started recently back writing because I want to write more, because all I did is freestyle for the last couple years. Freestyle, punch in bar by bar. I recently started back writing, so both.
AllHipHop: What does it mean to be signed to Authentic Empire? The same label that got Foogiano’s deal with 1017/Atlantic.
Money Mu: To me, signing to Authentic Empire was a stepping stone for my career. They had the same vision as me. They believe in me strongly and back me. It was a stepping stone to the next level. We going up; we pushing to the next level.
AllHipHop: What’s the reality of the independent grind?
Money Mu: It’s been hard, but I’ve been learning a lot. It’s teaching me so much about the game. The reality is you get what you put in. That’s how it is independently, you get what you put in. The work you put in is doubling back. It showed me how many people you really are touching, no fabrication. No none of that. You can really see how far and how many people you can reach with what you’re doing yourself independently. That’s hard, I like it.
AllHipHop: How was linking with Lil Durk on the “Eat” Remix?
Money Mu: I linked with him really through the label, through A.E. Boomman put it together. Durk’s a cool dude. We got the verse and I met him at the video, right there with Boom. We pulled up and got to it, it was real hard. He went crazy too, he slid on it.
AllHipHop: What would you be doing if you weren’t doing music?
Money Mu: I’d be jiggin’ until I made enough money to invest into something legit. That’s what I would’ve been doing, honestly.
AllHipHop: What can we expect from you music-wise?
Money Mu: I got a project coming, it’s almost finished now. It’s gonna be real hard, real bangers. Expect some more features. I got stuff coming with Money Man, K Camp, a couple folks. Real heat coming, a lot of flavor. A lot of energy, different vibes. Everything doesn’t sound like “Hittin’,” but I got a lot of those kinds of tracks and some more vibes for you too.
AllHipHop: What kind of vibes?
Money Mu: I got serious, pain vibes. I got some vibes for the females, for the ladies to turn up to. I rap about all types of things. I could rap about relationships, how I’m feeling about having a relationship or I might be rapping about turning up, smoking some weed. It’s all different types of vibes that most anybody can relate to and feel.
AllHipHop: Goals yourself as an artist at this point of your career?
Money Mu: Definitely to go Platinum. I want Platinum albums, I want Platinum records. Want to make sure that I get my label Still Paid moving in the right direction. I want to really get my artists and producers out here more and known. I want to successfully run it.

Multi-platinum and award-winning artist Ja Rule is trying to murderrrrr the NFT space, flipping one of his lowest losses into a huge win.
The “Always on Time” rapper placed some of his personal art up for sale in the new marketplace. The original Tripp Derrick Barnes piece that will be sold had previously been on full display at the New York City Fyre Media’s headquarters.
The oil painting embodies the now-infamous Fyre logo and name, except this image was of a black background and a colorful mix of orange, yellow, blue, green, and white. Reports say that Ja originally wanted to sell it on eBay, but has tapped into selling it as an NFT as the best option.
When asked by he was going to sell such a goliath piece that almost stands as high as his small 5’ 9 frame, he simply said that he “just wanted the bad energy gone.”
According to Business Insider, the name of his platform is called Flipkick. He and his crew of software engineers will sell physical and digital art as non-fungible tokens. Flipkick is set to sell physical artworks that are cryptographically authenticated.

“One of the happiest moments in life is when you find the courage to let go of what you cannot change”
Many artists are stepping into the NFT space, using goods, merch, music, and image & likeness as the foundation of their digital assets in this space, manipulating them for the consumer as a rare and elite quality collectible.

The National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) is calling out CBS, accusing them of promoting p### and prostitution during the 63rd Annual GRAMMY Awards.
The organization is pointing to Cardi B and Megan thee Stallion’s tantalizing performance as proof.
Dawn Hawkins, senior vice president and executive director of the National Center on Sexual Exploitation, said, “In a performance that could have been cut from a hardcore pornography film, CBS allowed a the glamorization of stripping and prostitution to be broadcast in front of a national audience – a portion of which were children – for no other reason than for TV ratings.”
She continued, “Despite the ‘popularity’ of the song performed by Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, CBS should have never allowed this kind of explicit performance to happen at the Grammys.”
“Prostitution and stripping are never empowering for women, as they set up systems that exploit and oppress women,” she noted. “CBS has contributed to furthering the sexual exploitation of women and contributed to the ‘normalization’ of p### culture.”
Joining their critique are the republican mouthpieces Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens.
Carlson, one of the highest-paid broadcasters on TV, said, “They’re intentionally trying to degrade our culture and hurt our children.”
Responding to his statement, Candace quipped, “Virtually, what we were looking at last night was a lesbian sex scene being simulated on television and this is considered feminist.”
After getting a whiff of the rumblings, the diamond-selling rapper took to Twitter for a quick reality check.
“I don’t know why candy is so bothered by WAP.I was just inspired by our former First Lady. Anyways congrats on your new show I hope you speak more about WAP I need it to reach a new Audience to go 6x platinum.Any exposure will help .Love you candy STREAM UP.”
The tweet started a full out culture war on Twitter (where there is real p### constantly posted) between Candy and Cardi. Who you got?
“Millions of young girls follow you. At your best, you are self-deprecating and humorous. At your worst, you are naked, shoving your v##### into another woman’s v##### while thrusting atop her. You were at your worst on the Grammy stage. Do better…”
Millions of young girls follow you. At your best, you are self-deprecating and humorous.
At your worst, you are naked, shoving your v##### into another woman’s v##### while thrusting atop her.
“I want to make this very clear .Before I was signed to a label Candy already endorsed me in a tweet .She knew what I was about she watched my come up on l&hh.Yet you still indorse me and said I had the mind of her idol Kanye.Don’t be mad at me be mad at yourself .”
People need to know that they are not immortal! So let’s get right into it. Lil Boosie a.k.a. Boosie Badazz has some really good news for us all. The rapper, known for his missteps and misstatements, is now cancer free. Officially! He made the proclamation on his social media, and got a lot of attention for what he said. And this time, he got his attention for all the right reasons. Obviously, if he said something about gay people or women he would’ve gotten more attention. But at least this is good news.
For those that don’t know Boosie had cancer and it looked real scary for him. But even crazier is the fact that Lil Boosie‘s cancer scares have not been chronicled in the social media area. His cancer journey started years ago back in 2015. And he was diagnosed with kidney cancer, which is a really aggressive form of the disease. Not only that, he’s had issues with diabetes and more. And he was cancer free back then after getting treatment. At least, that is what he said.
Apparently though he was not cancer free or has to continue to be checked often. Hopefully he is officially cancer free now because he’s made a similar proclamation in the past.
Beyonce’s mom has praised her daughter’s history-making Grammys wins on Sunday night (March 14th), while correcting the singer over something she said in her acceptance speech.
The “Halo” star became the most successful singer and female musician in the history of the Grammys when she took her career tally to 28 wins with another four wins in Los Angeles, and now Tina Knowles Lawson has saluted her daughter, patting her on the back for all the hard work.
Kicking off her tribute, Tina reminded Beyonce she has been working since she was seven, not nine as she said in her final acceptance speech, and then added: “So much Blood sweat and tears, intense training, vocal lessons, dance lessons, running and singing with your dad, every morning, missed parties and proms, hardly any playing outside. Total dedication and tremendous 100 Percent focus. So many sacrifices. I have to say you don’t have a career like this without huge sacrifices and pure dedication… And tremendous giving back, and paying it forward at the same time. Well deserved baby!!”
Tina added: “You have set the standards, your fearless unapologetic statements in your music and performances and filmmaking have knocked down doors for others to be fearless and unapologetic as well, you continuously raised the bar and made your own rules, an example for so many artists. Every award show I look at, I see your inspiration in so many other’s performances…
“You are always complimentary you are always exposing young talent, and creatives in front of and behind the cameras, teaching, training, mentoring sharing all of the resources that you have taken years and so much sacrifice to build. You are always happy for all of the other talented artist!! You also respect and honor artist(s) that came before you and opened doors for you!!!! You are truly a gracious Class act!!! I am so Proud not of just the 28 Grammys but for the incredible human being you have managed to stay.”
Cardi B is embracing the conservative backlash to her raunchy Grammy Awards performance of “WAP,” because the controversy is only helping to drive up video views of the set.
The rapper teamed up with song collaborator Megan Thee Stallion to turn up the heat at Sunday’s (March 14th) ceremony with a steamy rendition of the X-rated tune, which saw the stars bump and grind against one another onstage.
However, Cardi, who has always made it clear the song was not for children, insists having haters discuss the topic on TV and online has only served to boost YouTube views of her Grammys appearance, which ultimately benefits her.
“Love it or hate it, criticize it , judge it JUST BRING THE VIEWS IN… NUMBER 1 trending,” she tweeted.
As the video footage passed the four million views mark, Cardi quipped, “Americans are so horny,” and went on to share footage of Owens’ appearance on broadcaster Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show.
“Yaaaayyyyyyy WE MADE FOX NEWS GUYS !!! Wap wap wap (sic),” she joked in the early hours of Tuesday.
Cardi has since remarked, “Matter fact I’m just going to thank Candy (Owens).
“She put my performance on Fox News giving it more views that boosted the views on YouTube and is counting towards my streams and sales…
“STREAM UP AND WAP .REMEMBER GROWN PARENTS ONLY YOU CAN MONITOR WHAT YOUR KIDS WATCH NO1 ELSE (sic).”
Cardi is no stranger to the criticism of WAP, an acronym for Wet Ass P####, as she also faced backlash over the song’s subject matter when it was first released last summer.
