Akon Offers Unwavering Support For Tekashi 6ix9ine

(AllHipHop News) Akon joined DJ Whoo Kid on Instagram Live this week and shared some interesting thoughts during the session.

Akon expressed his support for the controversial Tekashi 6ix9ine.

Referring to 23-year-old Tekashi as young, inexperienced, and uneducated, Akon defended the rapper and his past mistakes.

He even took it further stating that Tekashi shouldn’t have been in the position to snitch and the importance of watching one’s circle.

“There’s no reason why he should have been in the position where he snitched,” Akon said. “His homies should have took that for him. Them ni##as that claim to be real Gs and all that, they should have took that for him ’cause he’s the football. You always protect the football.”

He concluded, “You don’t ever put the artist in the position where he has to cover for y’all.”

He also stated later in the Instagram live, “That’s why I’m not so quick to judge him because I don’t know exactly what’s happening behind closed doors that may not be explained or maybe out to the public to know.”

Aside from his thoughts on the Tekashi situation, DJ Whoo Kid asked Akon if he is going to download the rapper’s next album when it drops.

Akon then exclaimed, “I’ma feature on that record!”

He continued, claiming that the song would be the biggest drop of the year, “…Even if you don’t like him, you gon’ get it, download it just out of curiosity.”

French Montana Predicts Some Rappers Will Have “Garage Auctions”

(AllHipHop News) French Montana recently spoke on about COVID-19 and how it’s affecting a lot of rappers’ finances.

Video chatting from his home, a quarantined French told TMZ that the pandemic has taught him to practice gratitude for the things he has.

He also shared that everyone is being put to the test, specifically rappers.

“Everybody’s getting put to test about one thing and one thing only, was you saving money when you was rapping?” he stated, calling out rappers. “Did you build the capital? Did you build a retirement plan? Since I been working, I always would spend and I would save. I always dreamed about a beautiful exit one day. I always save money for a rainy day…”

He went on saying that there will be a lot of “garage auctions” because many rappers are living check to check and don’t practice smart saving habits.

French also discussed his love for directing and that he’s currently working on a documentary about his life.

French Montana also made headlines earlier this week, after the unexpected happened on Instagram live.

The rapper squashed his 15-year beef with Jim Jones. The quarantine brought the two together to sort out their differences on live for fans to see.

CoreDJs Music Group Premieres: Encrowd Kizzy “Street Love”

When one listens to the new song “Street Love” by Encrowd Kizzy featuring G The Singer, you know immediately, “that’s a hit record.” It’s one of those timeless renditions of a classic song that most people don’t touch especially if the original song was made by an R&B diva who can still sell out a venue, singing her old hits, to this day.

G The Singer doesn’t ruin it for those of us that remember the original “Sweet Love” and for the millennials who never experienced Queen Anita Baker’s version, this song introduces young lovers to some real classic soul.

Kizzy’s flow is perfect over the melodic harmonies and the duo accomplish something beautiful without overselling it. “Street Love” will be a favorite during the quarantine and after it’s over, just in time for “sundress season.”

We caught up with Kizzy, just before the pandemic lockdown and this is what the St. Louis native had to say.

AllHipHop: Does your name have a significant meaning?

Kizzy: An old group member back in the day said I had multiple personalities and I use to go by the name Ray Da Kidd but when I would rap, I would say Kizzy and it stuck.

AllHipHop: How long have you been active in the music game?

Kizzy: About 9 years now but I’ve been back grinding hard the last 2/1/2 years, independently, until I met co-CEO and founder of the Core DJs Music Group, K.Epps the Boss.

AllHipHop: How are you going to approach the game as an artist?

Kizzy: Man, I’m (low key) just planning to hit it straight on! Not too much shakes me or get me out of my element but I’m hungry and patient. Plus I’m with a dope team and label.

AllHipHop: Who are some of the artists and producers you’ve worked with for your new music?

Kizzy: No one with a big name, just a few producers in and out of the country but no big features yet.

AllHipHop: Who would you say are your greatest influences in music today?

Kizzy: It would be Kevin Gates, Derez Dashon, and Hov hands down! It’s gotta be real s##t to touch your soul.

AllHipHop: There’s a lot of major artists that came from your city and there’s a lot of talent in the Lou so what are you bringing new to the game for the culture?

Kizzy: St.Louis artists never get their respect for being real and I just wanna drop my street life story from my perspective. My new single “Street Love” is the story of a hustler who meets the right woman he knows he can shape and groom to be a queen. A feel-good record for the ladies who know how to hold a man down.

AllHipHop: So with the climate of today’s artists using ghostwriters, would you use any and have you done any songs for any artists out there now?

Kizzy: No Ghostwriter for me but I would buy a dope beat and a hook, no cap! But I write my own lyrics! For the last year in a half, I actually was back and forth to Cali writing at Warner Bros with my A&R homie Byron B

AllHipHop: Where can fans and followers find you on social media?

Kizzy: Encrowd_Kizzy on IG & Twitter and you can find all my music and visuals on www.KIZZY314.com

AllHipHop: Thanks Kizzy and Good luck!

Teddy Riley vs Babyface Was An Epic Fail!

(AllHipHop Rumors) The battle of super producers Teddy Riley and Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds ended in a technical mess after over 400,000 people logged on to Instagram to watch.

The battled was highly-doubled over the course of a couple of weeks but ended in a technical debacle Saturday night (April 18). Both men are R&B legends, but Teddy has a bit of a Hip-Hop spin. Either way, it was TRASH! Most people blame Teddy Riley for the way things turned out.

Teddy’s sound had this horrible echo and then it was too low. Honestly, he was doing THE MOST, because he had a full set up….DJ, backup dancer…hypeman and nobody was social distancing. And it still got messed up! Babyface, on the other hand, was in a studio ALONE. He just beat coronavirus.

The battle started at 9pm EST, but by 10:30 PM, Babyface quit, stating that it would be rescheduled. I don’t think he is coming back, but we’ll see. His exact words were, “I think that it’s only right that we postpone this thing until another time when there aren’t any technical difficulties, and everybody can hear the music the way it needs to be heard.”

As far as I am concerned, Babyface won the first bout. Now, it is up to Teddy to even the score going forward.

Here is Babyface’s message.

EXCLUSIVE: YNW Melly’s Alleged Co-Conspirator In Double Murder Asks To Be Released To A “Fan”

(AllHipHop News) Rapper YNW Melly, whose real name is Jamell Demons, is currently behind bars on 2018 murder charges.

Melly and Cortlen Henry aka YNW Bortlen are accused of shooting and killing Anthony Williams and Christopher Thomas Jr. in Miramar, FL.

YNW Melly, who is serving time at Broward County Jail recently tested positive for COVID-19.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B-gO1F7pNbN

The news was shared on a post on his official Instagram page, which also mentioned that the rapper was filing a request for restricted release.

“…He’ll be filing a motion for restricted release in hopes of better care due to any jails not being prepared to treat this new virus,” the post read.

Last week, YNW Melly’s request was denied, despite having the coronavirus.

YNW Bortlen is also trying to get out of prison due to his fear of catching the coronavirus.

YNW Bortlen wants the court to release him into the custody of one of his “fans,” who also agreed to house YNW Melly, should the rapper ever be released.

YNW Bortlen’s lawyer Fred Haddad said the rapper would be released to an individual, who is first and foremost a fan, but also an “aspiring protection officer.”

Christopher Thomas Jr.’s lawyer snapped on YNW Bortlen’s lawyer Fred Haddad for filing the motion with the “fan’s” name publicly exposed, along with other sensitive information, like his home address.

“It is preposterous they seek to release him to a ‘fan’ and that defense counsel put that fan’s name, address, phone number and information in the public domain,” snapped attorney John M. Phillips, who is representing the family of Christopher Thomas Jr. “We again ask the public to be sensitive of the victims here. They lost children.”

Late last week, Thomas filed documents on behalf of Thomas’ family, asking the judge to keep the rappers locked away no matter what their medical condition may be.

“While the victims sympathize with the alleged medical condition Mr. Demons faces, Mr. Demons presents a threat to the family, to society and cannot sufficiently be restricted if released,” a section of the documents read on behalf of Thomas Jr.’s family.

YNW Melly’s health is reportedly deteriorating fast. The rapper is suffering from multiple symptoms including body aches, headaches, and trouble breathing.

The judge who denied his release stated that the rapper would need to request special medical treatment from the Broward Sheriff’s Office, if necessary.

Snoop Dogg Graduates From Gin & Juice And Debuts His Own Merlot

(AllHipHop News) Fans are probably used to seeing Snoop Dogg either peddling his expansive cannabis empire, putting out dope music or kicking it with Martha Stewart on their cool cooking show, “Martha and Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party” on VH1.

But now, he will combine all of his passions by curating his own beverage. And an adult beverage at that! Get this… a mature upscale spirit… Stewart is rubbing off on Uncle because he seems to have graduated from a constant palette of Gin and Juice to his own wine.

Snoop, the businessman that he is, understands his brand and its need to evolve.

The Doggfather’s new wine Snoop Cali Red is actually to an extension of the G that we have always known him to be.

By partnering with the Napa-based brand 19 Crimes—part of Australia’s Treasury Wine Estates (TWE)— he has formed a multi-year deal that is set to kick off this summer with their debut release, Snoop Cali Red.

Billed as 19 Crimes’ first California wine, the red blend features 65-percent Petite Syrah, 30- percent Zinfandel, and 5-percent Merlot, and is reportedly slated to sell for $12 per bottle.

John Wardley, TWE marketing vice president of the Americas, said:

“Snoop Dogg, an entertainment and California icon, is the perfect partner for 19 Crimes.” He continues that the rich merlot “embodies the spirit of 19 Crimes—rule-breaking, culture creating and overcoming adversity. We are truly excited to partner with Snoop and welcome him to the 19 Crimes family.”

But what did West Coast’s most celebrated rapper say?

“I’ve been a fan of this wine and I’m excited to unveil my ‘Snoop Cali Red’ this summer and share the experience with all my fans. It’s one of the most successful brands in the market, so I’m more than eager to bring this collaboration to the world!”

EXCLUSIVE: Pleasure P Blasts The Media Over Checkers Arrest Coverage

Additional reporting by Seleah Simone (@seleahsimone)

(AllHipHop News) When a Michigan State University’s College of Law professor presented research a few years back stating that African Americans were more likely to be wrongfully convicted, people let it ride with little attention.

The general consensus for people of color: “Yeah and so … what else is new,” especially if you are Black. Especially if you are an artist. Especially if you are a male.

You “must have done something wrong” if they said you did. Millennial R&B group Pretty Ricky’s Pleasure P can attest to this.

Last month, the singer/reality star was arrested at a local Checkers Drive-Thru in Miami Gardens, Florida, for allegedly starting a food fight.

Headlines abounded.

Yet, the singer tells AllHipHop.com that the reports of the story got it wrong.

“What the media do, instead of saying, ‘Damn, he was wrongfully arrested, here’s a man that’s wrongfully arrested, that’s not right,’ they make a big spectacle out of it,” Pleasure P told AllHipHop.com. “It’s weird.”

Pleasure P vowed his legal team would be taking action.

In Pleasure’s retelling of the story, he maintained he was wrongfully arrested by a cop whom he has had problems with in the past.

“There’s a long line on one side, so I go to the opposite side. I tell the young lady, I say, ‘Hey, you think you can look out for me.’ Whatever, whatever, and I give her $60. You know what I mean? Like, just, you can keep the change, just whatever,” Pleasure P explained.

“She brought me back some things that I’d never heard of or whatever, so I was like, ‘You know, this is kind of not what I really wanted,’ [Again] so whatever. She was like, ‘Well, I ain’t going to put all this stuff into the … You can just to go the other line,” Pleasure P continued.

Pleasure P said things got messy as soon as he asked for his $60 back and attempted to return the bag of food to the drive-thru clerk.

The former “Love & Hip Hop Miami” star said the clerk threw the bag of food at her car, prompting him to exit his vehicle to ask another cashier for a refund.

According to Pleasure P, he calmly waited for the law to show up, but the situation only escalated when a cop he had a previous run-in with happened to be the responding officer.

“We had words a couple of times at a couple of other places,” Pleasure P explained. “As he comes, he’s like, ‘Take him.’ I’m like, ‘For what?’ [assault].’ How could I assault somebody through a drive-through window? I’m really trying to do the math. I’m like, ‘Well, why don’t you look at the cameras and stuff?’ Instead, he just took her word and whatever that the workers said. They were like, ‘Yeah, bye, you going to jail.’ ”

According to Pleasure P, he has more video of the incident, which he plans to use in court to beat the charge.

Young Chop Has Been Arrested, But Why?

Gwinnett County Solicitor General Brian Whiteside’s office made the revelation that the rapper/producer had been arrested on a probation violation charge.

Chop, real name Tyree Pittman, violated probation on a misdemeanor animal neglect charge, according to reports. The 26-year-old Chicago native now resides in Atlanta.

He was arrested on Thursday, but details of the violation have not been release publicly. Gwinnett County jail revealed that the was previously apprehended on aggravated cruelty to animals-death, reckless conduct, driving without a valid license and other infractions.

Chop has continued to make headlines and become a sideshow attraction through social media antics to a real life shooting incident that left an Uber riddled with bullets.

French Montana And Jim Jones Squash Beef

(AllHipHop News) Harlem and the South Bronx are different kinds of places.

Chop cheese is a staple in the diet in those two boroughs. 125th and 1520 Sedgwick are like their Hollywood Walks of Fame.

And real street guys find lost boys and train them up like Peter Pan did … until one day they wake up as grown men.

It is then that they abandon the childish street lore, rules, and rhetoric that might have kept them in an urban Neverland. Never feeling safe. Never getting real money. And most importantly, never seeing the bigger picture.

Never squashing beef.

What’s beef?

Well, Biggie poetically encapsulated everything one needs to know:

“What’s beef? Beef is when you need two gats to go to sleep. Beef is when your moms ain’t safe up in the streets. Beef is when I see you guaranteed to be in ICU…Beef is when you make your enemies start your Jeep. Beef is when you roll no less than 30 deep. Beef is when I see you guaranteed to be in ICU.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHNg-HGaHUA

Grown men leave Neverland and walk in the lane of grand possibility.

But two of Hip-Hop’s greatest influencers, bosses produced by those streets and honor codes, have evolved over the last 15 years in front of our eyes — and have seen the bigger picture.

Continuing a decade-long feud is no longer of interest. Jim Jones and French Montana have called it a truce publicly.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kAQ1jsJw2mc

Letting the cooling of flames happen on social media was a great example to their disciple-like fans that you can be about conflict resolution and not lose near one stripe.

In fact, after listening to them talk, they might even get a few bags. Check them out on an Instagram Live session.

The particulars of the beef are truly unnecessary.

But is important is that they now join the ranks of bosses like Fat Joe and 50 Cent, who had beef and flipped it.

Now, if we can only get Ja Rule and 50 Cent to bury the hatch (be it on Swizz Beatz and Timbaland’s Verzuz series or on their own time) all would be right in the world.

EXCLUSIVE: Judge Seizes Game’s Record Label And “Born 2 Rap” Royalties

(AllHipHop News) A woman trying to collect a massive $7 million judgment against Game just took control of the rap star’s independent label, LA Prolific.

Priscilla Rainey was just granted “any and all rights, title, and interest” in any money, property or future payments due to the record label, which was set up to release Game’s last album Born 2 Rap.

Rainey is now the owner of now Born 2 Rap, the royalties from the record, and even any salary Game may have been paying himself through LA Prolific.

“All third parties who receive notice of this Order are directed to pay any and all money or property due, or to become due, under this Order, directly to Plaintiff either: (1) by check payable to “Priscilla Rainey,” and delivered to Plaintiff’s counsel” until the judgment is satisfied in full,” Judge Virginia A. Phillips stated.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B-e4JmgJwuy

And now, the situation could turn into a criminal case for Game.

According to Judge Phillips, if the rap star attempts to thwart the ruling and collect the money, he could be hit with a charge of contempt of court.

Priscilla Rainey originally sued Game in 2015 after he allegedly rubbed his hand on her bare v##### during a taping of his hit reality show “She Got Game.”

Game vehemently denied Rainey’s accusations. But he mocked the court when he missed a series of key court dates and decided to skip the trial entirely in 2016.

In February of that year, a court awarded Rainey a judgment totaling $7,130,100.

An appeals court upheld the decision against Game in October of 2019 and directed the rap star to pay Rainey the full $7 million.

Rapper Flash Gottii Explains How He Met Wack 100, Working With Blueface And More

Flash Gottii is a man with undeniable energy. His goal is to bring a lot of energy with his music, which comes to light on stage performing at Made In America or opening for Trippie Redd. Beyond that he’s an extremely persistent person, who refuses to give up on anything he does.

Under management with Wack 100 who manages Blueface and signed to eOne, Flash plans to become the biggest artist this industry has ever seen. With the versatility to sing, rap, and hold a melody, you can hardly box him into any one category. He says so himself, “I don’t want to be in one genre of music, I want to be in all genres.”

Flash Gottii arrived in downtown Los Angeles rocking a 100 ENT chain around his neck, indicating his loyalty to manager Wack 100 (Blueface, The Game). At the core, Flash just loves to make music and have fun — 2 essential parts of the job description.

AllHpHop caught up with Flash Gottii in downtown Los Angeles to discuss how he found his way to Wack 100, studio session with Trippie Redd, Top 5, and more!

AllHipHop: How would you describe your sound?

Flash Gottii: Different. The reason it’s different is because it’s not one same thing, one pattern. I’m doing singing, melodies, rapping, a whole lot of different things.

AllHpHop: Being from Kansas City, what were you seeing growing up?

Flash Gottii: A lot of struggle, but I’ve seen a lot of hope in my city too. I’ve seen a lot of people trying to overcome and make a way for themselves. A lot of persistence. My mother’s not from America, she’s from Africa. She came to LA first. After she got her green card and got a job, she brought my grandma and family out here. It’s cheaper out there than down here, they chose Kansas City because that’s where my dad and his family’s at. I had to understand the struggle of having a mom who really couldn’t speak English. You know how it goes, being a black kid trying to come up with nothing. But seeing that your family’s struggling too.

AllHpHop: Were you a fan of Tech N9ne? He’s the big one out of there.

Flash Gottii: Yeah, I’m a fan of Tech N9ne. Right, the only one that’s ever done something from Kansas City.

AllHpHop: Who else did you look up to growing up?

Flash Gottii: I looked up to Drake. I like Drake. I like Wiz Khalifa. Wiz because he’s himself, he doesn’t care about what people think. He just puts out music. Drake because he’s versatile, of course. He does all these different things with his voice, he’s just great.

AllHpHop: At what point did you realize this music thing was for real?

Flash Gottii: Made In America [in Philly], I opened up for Blueface. I never seen the crowd or nothing. Wack flew me in. I flew in, went straight to the sprinter. From the sprinter to the venue, then we go straight to the back. They hand me the mic like “alright, you about to go!” I’m like “damn, where I’m going?” [chuckles] Go up these stairs, I hear my music. Run out past these little walls. Made In America was crazy, wow. That’s when I knew, I seen everybody rocking. I wasn’t signed yet. I look back at Wack and them, they’re nodding their heads. I thought “damn, this might get serious.”

AllHpHop: How did Wack 100 find you?

Flash Gottii: I was in Atlanta doing a music video, me and Blueface were staying at the same hotel. We’re outside smoking, I said “aye bro, what you want for a feature man?” He’s like “ask that bald-headed ass dude right there.” [chuckles] I look over and it’s Wack. “Aye Wack, what’s your number? Let me get it.” Got each other’s numbers. I sent him some music, he’ll never look at it. I sent him some more music, he never looked at it again. I guess he sent my music to his daughter. He sends all the music that people send him, to his daughter.

AllHpHop: How old is she?

Flash Gottii: She’s 14 or 15. She’s always like “thumbs down, thumbs down. No, no, no.” She heard my music, she’s like “thumbs up.” He sent me one simple text: “yeah my daughter thumbs up your music.” He sent me a screenshot of it. I wouldn’t leave him alone after that. I blow him up, blow him up, blow him up. He didn’t answer. I saw his Instagram post in the morning, alright he just posted. Boom!

AllHpHop: What’d you say to him?

Flash Gottii: I’m calling him, he wouldn’t answer. “Man what’s up? We need to talk!” Then I started going viral on Facebook. I was at a gas station, pumping gas with a blunt lit. Because Cali, it’s legal here. I’m trying to tell the lady like “aye the gas ain’t working.” As I go in there, I see the camera. I get in the camera and see myself, so I got the blunt and start doing the dance. I told my cousin “record this s##t!” He recorded it on the TV.

I take it to the house, put my music to it, put it on Facebook. I was just bulls##tting on Facebook though. I go to sleep, I wake up and my little nieces are like “I seen you on Facebook!” It was 100K, 200K views in a day or 2. I posted it on Instagram. My boy FunnyMike said “don’t take that light, take that serious. You go viral on FB, I started going viral on FB.” He’s a huge Youtuber right now. He invited me to XXL. I did Made In America, then I went on the Find The Beat Tour with Blueface.

AllHpHop: What was the best memory from that tour?

Flash Gottii: Just learning. Looking and seeing how Blueface moves. Took everything in, being right under a big artist.

AllHpHop: How’s Blueface move?

Flash Gottii: He’s moving cool, moves with his people. Of course, he’s a ladies man. But he always handles his business, I noticed that.

AllHipHop: Inspo behind your name?

Flash Gottii: I got my name from getting a car, I had bought a white car. I used to always flash my little money, my little bankroll. Hanging out with girls, they’re like “oh you think you flashy.” I bought my white little car then you know, Yo Gotti used to do white on white a lot. My car’s white, so “oh you think you Yo Gotti.” And I use that for my name. Yo Gotti, he’s a cool dude.

AllHpHop: Who’s in your Top 5?

Flash Gottii: Drake. Tupac. You could say Biggie. I like Nas. I like the dude from Outkast, he’s hard. André 3000, I like him. He’s weird and he does his thing. That’s my boy.

AllHpHop: What’s your favorite Drake song?

Flash Gottii: Probably “Marvin’s Room” or “Controlla,” just because it’s so creative. “Controlla,” “Marvin’s Room,” all that s##t’s different. When he’s singing, doing all the different melodies and mixing them in with the different samples, that’s dope to me. That’s next level, separating him from everybody else.

AllHpHop: How did you connect with Trippie Redd initially?

Flash Gottii: My management (Wack) linked us up in the studio. Trippie has songs with The Game, and that’s Wack’s artist too. We went to the studio for a couple hours, just smoking. Chillin’. Doing what we do. Listening to each other’s music, vibing. I’m listening to his new album, his rock album. He’s listening to my EP. We ended up collabing, and made “Paper Chase.”

AllHpHop: Bring us back to the studio session for “Paper Chase.”

Flash Gottii: Playing songs, I’m like “man, I’m looking for a single for you to get on right now.” He’s like “wsup, play some stuff.” I was already playing some music so after that, I said “I probably want you on one of these.” I started playing the song. Once he heard that, everyone in the room looking around like “boy that’s hard, you need to get on that!” He’s like “alright.” We went up. Cooked up.

AllHpHop: Did you learn anything from working with him?

Flash Gottii: He’s very humble, calm. He deals with a lot of people, but he’s just calm. Doesn’t really snap at people or anything. Just have fun with it. If you’re not having fun with this, it’s irrelevant to be doing. That’s what I‘m learning too. If you’re not having fun, there’s no point to be stressed out.

AllHpHop: What is it that you want fans to get from your music?

Flash Gottii: Fun. Energy. What they get when I perform. Just rage, have fun, wake up. If you’re feeling down, make you feel good about your day. Touch you in different ways. Trying to make you understand that you’re not the only person going through things. We all go through things. Basically have fun with it. I want my fans to really have fun with my music. When I perform, everyone’s having fun. It’s a good time, good energy.

AllHpHop: Were you nervous that first time performing at Made In America?

Flash Gottii: Yes, oh my gosh. I was so nervous! I prayed and just went out there.

AllHpHop: How was touring with Trippie Redd?

Flash Gottii: We just got off tour. LA and Anaheim were supposed to be the next ones, but Coronavirus. Last show was Vegas. It was amazing. We did a lot of shows, a lot of cities. A lot of different people. It was crazy. We partied in every city, kickbacks. I don’t want to see another kickback in forever. [laughs] We’re doing too much, partying after events. We hit every big city too: Miami, Atlanta. Lil Wayne came out in Miami, crazy.

AllHpHop: Thoughts on the Coronavirus?

Flash Gottii: Man, it needs to go away. It’s f##king up the money. If anybody lost somebody to it, rest their soul. I hope it doesn’t spread and get too bad. I think it’s hyped up too much, it’s some government s##t.

AllHpHop: What’s one thing you want fans to get from 20/20 Vision?

Flash Gottii: It’s going crazy right now, go stream that. Different vibes. I’m showing everybody how I can come. “He can go in that lane, oh he can do that too? Oh s##t, I knew he could do that.” Now, the album’s going to show them…

AllHpHop: What are some goals at this point in your career?

Flash Gottii: Well, I just finished my second tour. First it used to be touring, now it’s keep it going. Get bigger, keep coming out with good bangers. Keep dropping. I want to see what “Paper Chase” does too, it’s doing real good right now. Keep growing, do my own tour eventually.

AllHpHop: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Flash Gottii: Just boss status man, boss status. A mogul. I’m trying to be a huge artist. How these young dudes are coming up for real, being bosses. It’s not just about myself, I want to expand, do real estate. I want to have an artist too, I want to sign artists. I want to have Platinum, Gold records. My own tour, have my own artist, put on for my city the right way.

AllHpHop: How do you want to give back to Kansas City?

Flash Gottii: I want to do a lot of things. I lost my mama to cancer, so I want to go back home and do little walks to raise awareness for people. I want to give back. I really want to build a shelter for people back home for the homeless. Because I was homeless at one point in LA. I lost my spot, I was trying to figure it out for a minute. After I lost my mama too. My mom’s from Africa, she always wanted to build a missionary back home too. I want to do that too.

AllHpHop: How’d you push through from being homeless?

Flash Gottii: My mom found out she had cancer, that’s the whole reason I started doing music. When she found out she had cancer, I was just running around the streets. Decided to start doing music, she’s like “alright, that’ll work.” Because I didn’t know how to get no real ass money. I’m about to use my image and my personality to try to get some real money, get you a good doctor. We’re going to fight through this.”

I never knew much about cancer. I knew you go bald, I thought it was a process. Because all my friends, we’re like “yeah people have cancer. Ah she went bald, her hair grew back, she’s alright.” I never really delve in there. When my mama said she had cancer, 10 days later she died. She already had stage 4. That’s my motivation to get through everything. I made a promise to her I was going to do this. I want to hold my end of the bargain, fulfill my promise to my mama. I know she’s with me so I want to make her proud, along with my family. I have a brother and two sisters. I’m not going home, there’s nothing there. I have to make it happen. There’s no plan B, only plan A.

AllHpHop: What can we expect next?

Flash Gottii: The album, more singles off the EP. More videos, visuals. My album, I’m ready to go. More touring. I was supposed to go on another tour that my label set it up with 300 Ent. They wouldn’t tell me, they’re going to surprise me. But Corona messed up everything.

R. Kelly Sex Abuse Trial Postponed

(AllHipHop News) R. Kelly’s sexual abuse trial in New York has been postponed to the end of September due to the coronavirus crisis.

The judge overseeing the case has ruled that a July 7th start date is unlikely in light of the pandemic, prompting the singer’s lawyer to file a motion requesting a bail release, citing a number of COVID-19 cases in the Chicago, Illinois jail, where he is being held.

The Manhattan judge did not rule on the motion at a hearing on Thursday, but noted that the judge overseeing a separate federal case against Kelly would also have to sign off on any release.

The “I Believe I Can Fly” singer is facing a number of criminal charges all related to sexual misconduct and sex acts, with some revolving around underage girls.

He is also charged with bribing an Illinois official to obtain a fake identification for the singer Aaliyah, so they could get married. She was 15 at the time.

Yesterday, R. Kelly filed another emergency motion seeking to be released MCC jail in Chicago, over fears of contracting the coronavirus.

Blind Baltimore Rapper Jaleel Knight Drops Single “Ain’t No Love”

When a new artist emerges onto the scene, most of the time that artist is overlooked because there are so many rappers and singers coming out from everywhere that it’s hard to keep up.

But when you’re a producer, arranger, songwriter, singer and a rapper who plays multiple instruments, people start to pay attention.

And on top of all that, you’re 100% blind, grew up in the rough streets of Baltimore and you got a major co-sign from one of the top echelon managers in the last 20 years, people do more than pay attention, they pay respect and they anticipate your arrival like you’re the next Prince, Michael or even Stevie.

Introducing Jaleel Knight, hip-hop’s answer to “Stevie Wonder.”

His songs tell the journey of a blind man surviving in one of the toughest cities in America, “B’more” Maryland aka Charm City or Mobtown.

If you were a fan of HBO’s seminal series, “The Wire,” then imagine that culture and lifestyle, then picture enduring that lifestyle as a blind person. Unimaginable, right?

Well, Jaleel survived it all and has created an opus of music to deliver to the world as his debut. With the guidance and direction from Debra “Ms.Deb” Antney, this young man won’t be a hard sell.

His debut single and video captures the gritty and dark soul of Hip-Hop mixed with strong vocals and takes you places that only the third eye can see if you’ve never experienced it for yourself.

His insight is so in tune with the world that you would wonder how anyone could call someone like Jaleel handicap because of his blindness. After witnessing his gifts, I believe he can see better than all of us.

Tiny Harris Refuses To Dwell On T.I.’s Virginity Controversy

(AllHipHop News) Tameka ‘Tiny’ Harris is doing her best not to “dwell” on the controversy caused by her rapper husband T.I. admitting he takes his daughter for an annual virginity check-up.

The musician, real name Clifford Harris, made the comments on the “Ladies Like Us” podcast, explaining how important it is to him that his daughter Deyjah Harris waits for the right time before having sex.

“Deyjah’s 18, just graduated high school now, and she’s attending her first year of college, figuring it out for herself. And yes, not only have we had the conversation (about sex), we have yearly trips to the gynecologist to check her hymen.”

He added: “I will say as of her 18th birthday, her hymen is still intact.”

T.I. was widely slammed for the remarks, and now Tameka has opened up about the effect the backlash had on her family during an interview with FoxNews.com.

“I won’t say too much but I think for T… he tried to stay off of social media as much as possible because of what everyone was saying,” she explained. “And all those people didn’t know the full story. You just can’t give those people your energy because they don’t really know you. They don’t know enough about me to really take what they say to heart. It’s not their fault, but I’m not going to dwell on it. I’m not going to let it upset my day.”

Tameka went on to insist that the only thing that mattered to both her and T.I. in the situation was how Deyjah, his daughter with ex Ms. Niko, was coping.

“That’s the only really important issue in this situation, not what everyone thinks or how they perceive it,” she continued. “It doesn’t matter. It’s not your household and it’s not affecting your household. We just want to focus on our household and make sure she’s doing great.”

Chance the Rapper Explains How He’s Staying Romantic During Lockdown

(AllHipHop News) Chance The Rapper keeps the romance alive with wife amid the coronavirus lockdown by sending her sweet texts while she sleeps.

The star, who is married to his childhood sweetheart Kirsten, has found a way to make sure his spouse knows how much he loves her thanks to their radically different sleep schedules.

“We sleep at different times because I’m more of a night person and she’s more of a morning person, so we miss each other sometimes,” he tells People magazine. “Last night, I knew she had fallen asleep so I sent her an ‘I love you’ text. When she woke up this morning, she gave me a hug and she was like, ‘I just want you to feel love’. I was touched.”

The host of Quibi’s reboot of MTV prank show “Punk’d” notes that they’ve both been busy keeping up with their children, Kensli, four, and Marli, seven months, during the lockdown – and that have to fight to make time for their relationship.

“I said ‘I love you’ this morning to my wife and last night in a text message,” he adds, “It’s very different with this quarantine going on. Between our two kids and trying to keep our house clean, phone calls I have to get on and phone calls she has to get on, we’re trying to find time for each other.”

Despite his packed schedule, his time at home with his family has allowed Chance to really appreciate his blessings.

He adds, “I think I’ve been waking up daily with a newfound gratitude and being just very grateful that I’m married right now.”
