Beyoncé May Have Supported Another Political Figure—Was It Intentional Or Accidental?

Something subtle but significant happened over Memorial Day weekend. Beyoncé lit up New Jersey with another dazzling performance. There’s nothing out of the ordinary there. She typically brings greatness to the stage every time.

But there was a surprising moment during her set that deserves a closer look. Walk with me. In one segment, Beyoncé showcased a powerful spoken word piece by none other than Ras Baraka, the current mayor of Newark. Bro also has some deep Hip-Hop roots.

READ ALSO: Beyoncé Just Changed Country Music’s Rules

Now, that might’ve flown under the radar for some, but those who know, know. Before becoming a political force, Ras Baraka was a respected poet and activist in the mold of his father, the legendary Amiri Baraka. He brought his poems to stages like Def Poetry Jam. His voice has been with us for a long time.

So why did Queen Bey feature Ras in her show? Was it a creative nod to the culture of the region? Or was it a not-so-subtle endorsement as Baraka makes a serious bid for governor of New Jersey?  I think it could be a bit of both. Baraka’s voice being elevated in one of the biggest shows on Earth doesn’t feel like a coincidence. (Big Wink. Wink!)

As Baraka shifts gears from mayor of Newark to gubernatorial hopeful, his alliance with Hip-Hop remains unwavering. Over the years, he’s brought Hip-Hop into the heart of Newark—using it as a tool for education, youth engagement, and social change. He helped establish the Hip-Hop Political Convention in the early 2000s, and his administration has embraced artists, not shunned them. Ras has never turned his back on the streets or the culture; he’s made it part of the solution.

From what I’m hearing, some major Hip-Hop figures are rallying behind Brother Ras as the race heats up. There are some fundraisers on the horizon and probably some high profile campaign appearances. This isn’t a man parachuting into politics from celebrity. He’s someone who’s been grounded in community work, activism, and cultural relevance for decades. He did not just pop out to get arrested.

Let’s keep it real and this is for the naysayers especially. We’re living in a time where hard-fought protections are being stripped away, and predatory politicians are trying to roll us back to a darker time. That’s why it matters to support people who actually give a damn. People who don’t just talk, but act. People who’ve lived the struggle and fought to transform it.

I’m not here to tell you what to do. I’m saying—check out Ras Baraka. Look at his record. Look at how he’s used art, Hip-Hop, and public policy to uplift people. Then decide if he’s someone worth voting for in this next chapter. I already have.

Dog’s Worst Friend: Jaheim Arrested For Animal Cruelty Again

Jaheim was taken into custody Tuesday (May 1) in Fulton County, Georgia, after being charged with six counts of animal cruelty related to his treatment of multiple dogs.

Court records, just hitting the news, accused the R&B singer of failing to provide clean water, proper ventilation, and sanitary conditions for six dogs found on his property.

The animals include pit bull terriers, a French bulldog and a hound mix. He was released from Fulton County Jail the following day.

This marks the second time the “Put That Woman First” singer has faced legal trouble over animal neglect.

In 2021, New Jersey authorities discovered 15 starving dogs at his Hillsborough home. One dog was in such poor condition it had to be euthanized.

At the time, police said they found dogs confined in crates filled with feces and standing water. Most were severely underweight and lacked access to food or clean water.

Jaheim was charged with third-degree animal cruelty and failure to provide necessary care.

The Grammy-nominated artist has not publicly responded to the latest charges. His next court date has not been announced yet.

Raquel Drops “La La La” Feat. NLE Choppa — A High-Vibration Party Anthem Counting Down to an Unforgettable Night

Raquel is officially on our radar—and for good reason. The Toronto-based artist just dropped a brand-new single called “LA LA LA,” and it’s one of the most exciting releases of the season. Featuring none other than NLE Choppa, this track is made to make you move.

“LA LA LA” has a super catchy beat and lyrics that feel like you’re getting ready with your best friends for a night out. Raquel says the idea came during a late-night studio session where she thought about counting from 1 to 10, using each number to set the scene for an unforgettable night.

The lyrics are playful and easy to sing along to. You’ll be humming the chorus after just one listen:
“At 4, 5, 6, I’m with my girls and we’re taking pics / At 7, 8, 9, we’ll hit the club tonight.”

Raquel’s vocals are smooth, confident, and fun. You can tell she’s not afraid to experiment with her sound. Her background as a classically trained pianist shines through, even in a dance track like this—she knows what she’s doing when it comes to music.

NLE Choppa brings his signature energy to the song. His verse adds a fresh twist that balances Raquel’s pop style with a little extra hype. It’s the kind of collab that just makes sense.

The music video is just as cool as the song. Shot in Toronto by Abstract Studios, it’s full of fashion-forward looks, custom Lambos, glittering clubs, and amazing choreography. Raquel isn’t just making music—she’s telling a story through style, movement, and mood.

“LA LA LA” is the start of a bold new chapter for Raquel. She’s diving into the pop world, but still keeping her unique sound and vision. If this song is any sign of what’s next, we’ll definitely be watching. Check it out on all streaming platforms—you’ll be hitting repeat in no time.

EXCLUSIVE: Akon’s Wife Sues Publix Supermarket After She Was “Violated” By Male Employee

One of Akon‘s nine wives, Amirah Iman-Thiam, is suing Publix Super Markets after she claims an employee sexually violated her. According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, the incident took place in September 2022 in Roswell, Georgia.

The employee, Jonathan Ross, a stock clerk with a disciplinary file, lingered near the organic snacks, an area outside his assigned duties watching her. As Iman-Thiam scanned her groceries, Ross slid behind her. “That dress got me rethinking my lunch break,” he muttered per the docs. Before she could react, his hands gripped her buttocks and vaginal area, the violence lasting mere seconds.

The store manager’s admission later chilled investigators: Ross had exhibited erratic behavior for months yet remained unsupervised near customers. Bodycam footage showed Iman-Thiam trembling as police arrived, her voice cracking: “He just… violated me.” Ross confessed within hours and he was ultimately convicted of sexual battery.

Iman-Thiam claims the trauma metastasized. Nightmares forced her to cancel a 12-city European tour, costing $287,000 in guaranteed fees and torpedoing collaborations with Grammy Award-winning producers.

“My creativity’s gone,” she told her therapist, now relying on Instacart deliveries and a $150/hour security escort for essential errands.

The docs read, “Ms. lman-Thiam’s professional and personal life has been severely impacted by Publix’s negligence. Ms. lman-Thiam is the wife of famed singer and producer, Aliaune Damala Badara Akon Thiam (‘Akon’). She is a rising recording artist and rapper with Konvict Muzik. At the time of the accident, Ms. Iman-Thiam had just negotiated an international tour agreement with Universal Artist Features Worldwide and Quilox, LLC. She was contracted to perform a multi-city musical tour comprising ofmusical concerts within Africa and United Arab Emirates between November 1, 2022 to January 5, 2023. She was contracted to earn $4,000,000.00 for her performances.

“The tour agreement is attached to this letter and, like this letter, is strictly confidential. As a result of Publix’s negligence, Ms. lman-Thiam also suffered from serious emotional and physical trauma. Ms. Iman-Thiam and her husband are devout Muslims. Culturally, Muslim women are forbidden to receive physical, sexual contact from anyone who is not their spouse. This is a strict prohibition in the Islamic faith.”

The continue, “In light of the sexual battery, Ms. Iman-Thiam was required to seek cleansing and therapy from an Imam (a priest) in Senegal (which is her husband’s home country). For approximately one (1) year, she was required to pray six (6) times a day and engage in cleansing and purification rituals until she was fully cleansed as prescribed in the Islamic faith. Consequently, Ms. Iman-Thiam’s tour had to be cancelled.”

Publix’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit—filed in Fulton County Superior Court—claimed Ross acted outside his employment, but Iman-Thiam’s attorneys countered with damning evidence: the chain had no sexual harassment protocols for frontline staff, despite 19 similar incidents statewide since 2020.

The complaint alleges Publix’s negligence transformed its stores into hunting grounds, with Ross’s history making the assault “as predictable as a Tuesday BOGO sale.” Iman-Thiam is seeking punitive damages for reputational harm and emotional distress, her legal team arguing the corporation prioritized profit over background checks.

“This wasn’t a rogue employee,” her attorney stated. “This was a broken system weaponized against women.”

As depositions loom, Publix’s quarterly earnings report, released days after Ross’s conviction, noted a $4.2 million allocation for “customer incident resolutions.”

Nicki Minaj Revealed She Nearly Quit Music After Years Of Criticism

Nicki Minaj opened up about the emotional toll of fame and motherhood in a revealing interview with Vogue Italia, where she admitted that she has considered walking away from music “so many times.”

The Hip-Hop heavyweight opened up about the pressure of public scrutiny and the sacrifices she’s made since launching her career in the mid-2000s.

“I’ve heard every possible criticism about me. I’ve thought about quitting so many times,” she said. “I’m glad I didn’t. I hope my story can be an inspiration and push kids, adults, anyone, not to give up.”

Now 42, Nicki Minaj reflected on delaying motherhood to focus on her career and help support her family.

“As a woman, I put off becoming a mother,” she said. “A lot of women in the industry, especially older than me, never had children.”

Nicki Minaj added, “Some don’t regret it, but others do. I put it off.”

The “Super Freaky Girl” rapper, who shares a four-year-old son with her husband Kenneth Petty, spoke about missing out on holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving to stay on the grind. “I think the price was not having a ‘normal’ life,” she said.

Although she’s now in a position where she can provide more for her son, Minaj acknowledged that parenting under the spotlight presents its own challenges.

“Things are different now, because I can give my son things I never had, but there are things I want to make sure he has, and I still need to figure out how to give them to him,” she said. “When we go out, for example, I have to worry that someone will take his picture.”

Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty married in 2019 and welcomed their son in September 2020. She has not publicly disclosed his name.

Travis Hunter Married Wife Leanna Without Prenup Before $46.5M NFL Payday

Travis Hunter Is Brave! No Prenup, No Problem!

Travis Hunter gifted his new wife a six-figure Mercedes and diamond ring worth six figures, too—but skipped the prenup.

Just days before he’s expected to ink a massive $46.5 million NFL contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars, the 22-year-old football phenom married longtime girlfriend Leanna De La Fuente. But, according to multiple reports (and the “internet”), the couple tied the knot without a prenuptial agreement. The internet exploded with opinions.

The couple exchanged vows Saturday (May 24) at The Barn at Faith Farms in Tennessee. Their love journey began in high school in Georgia and has spanned years. This includes Hunter’s time at Jackson State under Deion Sanders. Some people are looking at Coach Prime over this prenup situation. They want him to be the guiding light

Their fairytale culminated in a lavish celebration that lit up social media, because of the extravagant wedding gifts. Leanna was presented with a Mercedes-Benz AMG G63 Brabus 800, a custom vehicle valued at approximately $200,000. WELL DANG.

@hotfreestyletv

Travis Hunter and Leanna Lenee are now married. Congratulations! 💍 #travishunter

Hunter spent $100,000 on her diamond ring, as reported by Sports Illustrated. The couple went public with their engagement in February 2024, with Leanna sharing photos of the moment on Instagram captioned: “A million times, yes 💍.”

On the 2Legendary podcast, the couple revealed they’d locked in a wedding date earlier this year. Now, they’ve followed through with a ceremony fit for a superstar and his bride. Photos from the event show Leanna, 23, back on Instagram following a social media break, glowing in a white gown beside her new husband. She’s incredibly happy.

What’s looming next? A monster four-year, fully guaranteed contract worth $46.5 million from the Jaguars, including a $30.5 million signing bonus. But that payday has people nervous for brah because of the absence of a prenuptial agreement. Please let this love work out

While love may be priceless, analysts and fans alike are already raising eyebrows over the financial implications. In the hyper-calculated world of professional sports, skipping legal protections is nearly unheard of.

Still, for now, Travis and Leanna seem focused on the joy of their new chapter—not the fine print. The fam’s faces said something, even if they didn’t say a word.

Machine Gun Kelly Walked Out Of AMAs For Sick Daughter

Machine Gun Kelly skipped the spotlight at the American Music Awards on Monday (May 27) in Las Vegas to rush home and care for his infant daughter, who was running a mild fever.

The Hip-Hop artist made a brief appearance on the red carpet before bowing out of the ceremony, where he had been scheduled to present.

Speaking to E! News, Machine Gun Kelly explained his early exit: “She has a little bit of a fever. So I’m gonna just walk the carpet and go back, you know what I mean, and handle my business. Give her my pheromones, and let her heal up.”

The two-month-old is his first child with actress Megan Fox, who recently described the pregnancy as “unplanned but a happy surprise” in a post on her Instagram Stories.

The couple welcomed their daughter on March 27, though their current relationship status remains unclear following their called-off engagement last year.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding their romance, Baker has been vocal about his joy in becoming a father again.

“I was born to be a dad. Yeah, it’s my purpose,” he told E! News.

He echoed that sentiment in a separate interview with Access Hollywood, saying, “I’m just so elated, It’s just awesome. They smell so good… I was just meant to be a dad.”

Baker also has a 15-year-old daughter, Casie, from a previous relationship.

Fox, meanwhile, shares three sons—Noah, 12, Bodhi, 11, and Journey, 8—with her ex-husband Brian Austin Green.

Shaboozey Checked Megan Moroney With One Look At 2025 AMAs

Shaboozey didn’t hold back his reaction Monday night (Jan. 27) at the 2025 American Music Awards in Las Vegas when Megan Moroney credited The Carter Family with “basically” inventing country music during their joint presentation.

The moment unfolded onstage at the Fontainebleau Hotel as the two artists introduced the award for Favorite Country Band/Duo/Group.

Shaboozey, known for his breakout hit “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” opened by highlighting the genre’s legacy at the AMAs, pointing out that Charley Pride won Favorite Male Country Artist during the show’s inaugural year.

Moroney followed by reading from the teleprompter: “That same year, Favorite Female Artist went to Lynn Anderson, and this award went to (folk music group) The Carter Family, who basically invented country music.”

Shaboozey paused, visibly processing the statement. He frowned, rolled his eyes slightly, then laughed before continuing with the presentation.

The award ultimately went to Dan + Shay, who edged out Old Dominion, Parmalee, The Red Clay Strays and Zac Brown Band.

The brief but telling moment quickly made its way across social media, where users dissected Shaboozey’s nonverbal response and Moroney’s historical reference.

“Megan Moroney just said the Carter Family invented country music and Shaboozey just shot her the hardest side eye. That’s what I came here for,” one person posted on X.

Another chimed in, “The Carter Family definitely shaped country, but invented? Bit of a stretch.” Others were quick to defend Moroney, noting she was simply reading from the teleprompter.

“Megan Moroney did not write the script (she was just reading the prompter),” one user wrote.

The Carter Family, often credited with popularizing country music in the 1920s and 1930s, remains a foundational influence in the genre, but the claim that they “invented” it has long been debated by music historians.

NPR has previously explored their legacy, noting their role in shaping the sound but not necessarily originating the genre.

What most historians fail to mention is that the Carter family was taught by a black artist and guitarist named Lesley Riddle, who also wrote some of their biggest hits.

Kai Cenat’s Streamer University May Be Newest HBCU—Critics Cry Foul

Streamer Kai Cenat is catching some heat—again. This time, folks are raising eyebrows over the student roster at his so-called “Streamers University.” Word on the internet is that the entire student body is Black. That alone made some people hilariously label it an HBCU, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

Apparently, a few people (mostly white, from what it seems) are upset that there isn’t a more diverse mix of students enrolled. Whether that’s a real issue or just online hate is up for debate. For the record, I don’t know what the official student body looks like at this “university” or if this “Streamer University” is even a legitimate institution. I can tell you this, a quick look and I saw a both a white person and an Asian person, so people are really hating. But one thing I do know for certain? Drake gave the commencement speech over the weekend. That alone made it feel like a cultural moment. I also heard T.I.’s son King Harris was trying to get in. So yeah, it’s major. And he’s not the only one.

READ ALSO: Drake Surprises Kai Cenat’s Streamer University

Kai Cenat is a force of nature, and clearly, he’s not slowing down.

Now, about this controversy—what’s the actual problem here? There are plenty of resources, schools and courses out there for learning how to stream. Kai isn’t running the only show in town. More importantly, nothing in his public behavior or business dealings suggests he’s excluding people. He actually strikes me as someone who welcomes everyone but just happens to have a fanbase that’s largely Black. That’s not discrimination—that’s resonance.

Could this turn into a bigger issue? Maybe. We’re in a hyper-sensitive era, where outrage can go viral in minutes. And let’s be honest, the new generation of “Karens” have their own way of flipping the narrative. Some of us have long had to find unconventional paths to success because so many doors have been slammed in our faces. Streaming isn’t always as lucrative as it seems, but Kai flipped the whole system. Now, you’ve got elders going live on Twitch, and corporations are lining up just to get a piece of what he’s built.

At the end of the day, if you want in, step up your streaming game. Whatever the criteria is to be part of Streamers University, that’s what it is. Let’s not cry discrimination every time something doesn’t include you, especially when it was built by someone who was once left out himself.

I am about to change my name it LeteSeed, because I feel obsoLETE!

EXCLUSIVE: Dame Dash Approves Auction— Movies, Business Interests Going Up For Sale

Damon Dash is set to lose control of some of his most recognizable creative properties, including the Hip-Hop staple State Property, as part of a court-approved public auction to settle a multi-million dollar debt owed to filmmaker Josh Webber.

The auction, greenlit by both parties, will include Damon Dash’s full ownership stakes in several companies and copyrights to several films and screenplays.

Among the most notable assets on the block is State Property, the 2002 street crime drama that helped define early 2000s Hip-Hop cinema and starred Beanie Sigel, Freeway, JAY-Z and other artists on Roc-A-Fella Records.

Its sequel, State Property 2, and the 2007 documentary Mr. Untouchable are also part of the liquidation.

The legal battle stems from a long-standing dispute between Damon Dash and Josh Webber, who sued Dash over unpaid judgments and defamation from an earlier $800,000 judgment tied to the film Dear Frank.

In March 2025, a court issued a $4 million default judgment against Dash in a defamation lawsuit filed by Webber, stemming from comments the mogul made on the Earn Your Leisure podcast following his failure to respond to the claims.

In December 2024, his one-third stake in Roc-A-Fella Records was sold off to pay his debts, but the proceeds didn’t cover them all. Now, the court has cleared the way for the sale of Dash’s full ownership in Dash Films Inc. Also up for grabs are his interests in Bluroc LLC and Blakroc LLC, both music-related ventures.

Poppington LLC, Dash’s production company, is also part of the auction. It owns the rights to several lesser-known titles, including Honor Up (2018), Too Honorable (2017) and We Went To…China (2018).

The auction date has not been announced yet.

Nicki Minaj Reveals Real Reason She’s Holding Back “Pink Friday 3”

Nicki Minaj is pressing pause on the release of her next album and opening up about the personal trade-offs she’s made to get where she is, including motherhood and missed holidays.

The rap heavyweight confirmed she’s holding off on dropping Pink Friday 3, her sixth studio album, because she wants it to carry weight—not just fill space.

“I have a lot of really strong songs,” she said in a Vogue Italia cover story. “But I don’t want to rush, I want the album to mean something, for the fans and for me. I will never be one of those people who releases songs just for the sake of it. I love music, I respect it.”

While the album’s timeline is still fluid, the Queens native made it clear she’s eager to hit the stage again. “Relive everything as soon as possible. For me and for the Barbz,” she added, hinting at a return to touring.

Minaj’s last project, Pink Friday 2, dropped on December 8, 2023, and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The album made her the first female rapper to earn three No. 1 albums in the U.S.

It featured five singles, including “Super Freaky Girl,” which became her first solo No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified double platinum in May 2023.

Nicki Minaj On Paying The Price Of Fame

But behind the accolades, Minaj reflected on the personal cost of her career.

“As a woman, I put off becoming a mother,” she explained. “A lot of women in the industry, especially older than me, haven’t had children. Some don’t regret it, but others do. I put it off. And then I didn’t go to every Thanksgiving, Christmas or birthday party because I had to work to support my family. I think the price was not having a ‘normal’ life.”

Now that she’s a mom to her son, affectionately known as Papa Bear, her priorities have shifted.

“Today, things are different, because I can give my son what I couldn’t have,” Minaj added. “But there are things I would like to ensure for him and that I have to figure out how to give him. When we go out, for example, I have to worry about someone taking pictures of him. So every day I have to decide: is it more important to go for a walk with my son or to avoid him being photographed?”

Diddy Trial: Ex-Assistant Testifies Kidnapping, Threats, Drug Runs, Violence From Mogul

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal trial took a disturbing turn as Capricorn Clark, a former high-ranking employee, delivered explosive testimony. She painted a picture of violence, intimidation and control during her years under the Hip-Hop mogul’s employment today (May 27).

Clark, who worked for Combs from 2004 to 2012, told the courtroom she was once kidnapped. She said she was subsequently held for five days, and forced to take multiple lie detector tests under threat of being “thrown into the East River.” She was accused jewelry theft by the mogul.

“There was a six-foot folding table and a heavyset man… he said if I failed the test, they’d throw me in the East River,” Clark recounted.

Clark said she was surveilled, physically assaulted, and threatened by Combs and his inner circle. This included a man named “Uncle Paulie,” a person she described as heavily involved in orchestrating Combs’ day-to-day security and intimidation.

Clark’s, a product of the West Coast, once worked for Death Row Records before taking a job with Combs in 2004. A job in fashion and branding for Sean John spiraled into a world of paranoia and alleged abuse.

“My first day working for him, he took me to Central Park after dark and told me, ‘Since you worked for Suge Knight, if anything happens, I might have to kill you,'” she said.

The courtroom gasped. The judge overruled an objection. And Clark went on.

She detailed Combs’ frequent hotel stays under aliases like “Frank White” and “Frank Black,” carrying bags filled with cameras, baby oil and lube. She said she swept rooms afterward, often finding damage from baby oil. This happened “every time,” she said.

Clark said she personally witnessed Combs carry firearms, facilitated drug pickups that included ecstasy, Molly and cocaine and also prescription meds filled in her name.

She testified to emotional and physical abuse. She described being pushed repeatedly by Combs after a complaint about turkey bacon. At one point, she was told, “You are not to leave this house,” and later pushed again after saying, “I hate it here.”

Though she eventually left the job, Clark returned as a brand director, managing the image of Cassie Ventura, then Diddy’s girlfriend. Clark explained she was instructed to protect Cassie’s image and avoid any perception of other romantic interests, like artist Kid Cudi.

Clark testified she helped Cassie get a burner phone to hide her communications from Combs, who paid for both their main lines.

On December 22, 2011, Clark said Combs returned to town and showed up at her apartment, enraged. “There was banging at my door,” she said. “I looked through the peephole and saw a furious Puff pacing with something in his hand.”

More on the testimony of Capricorn Clark as it develops.

Diddy Was Strapped Over Problem With 50 Cent According To Ex-Assistant

Diddy‘s RICO trial continued in a Manhattan federal court on Monday (May 27) and included testimony from former assistant Capricorn Clark.

During her time on the witness stand, Clark painted a grim picture of what it was like working for the Bad Boy Records founder. At one point, after Clark was terminated for allegedly not getting her vacation time approved, she claimed Diddy told her he would “make” Clark “kill” herself.

Clark also testified that Diddy was considering going after 50 Cent, who he had a “problem” with.

Per Inner City Press:

AUSA: And did he talk about it?
Capricorn Clark: He. Mr. Combs told Chris Lighty he had a gun. He had a problem with 50 Cent.
AUSA: Were you ever accused of stealing?
CC: Yes. Jewelry. It had been given to me. It was on loan.
AUSA: It went missing?
CC: Yes.

Clark’s testimony continued for hours. She discussed Kid Cudi’s theory that Diddy had his car blown up and dragged Harv Pierre into it, former president of Bad Boy.

AUSA: Did law enforcement call you?
Capricorn Clark: The arson investigators. Cudi had given them my name. I hung up on them. I just wanted this over.
AUSA: What did Mr. Combs say to you?
CC: He said, I should kill you b*tches and I should cut her face.

AUSA: How many times did Mr. Combs threaten you?
Capricorn Clark: I’d say fifty times. D-Roc was there, just doubling down on whatever Puff was saying in the moment.
AUSA: Who is Harv Pierre?
CC: The president of Bad Boy Records. I told him Puff had kidnapped me

AUSA: What did Harv Pierre tell you?
Capricorn Clark: He said, That’s crazy but it’s going to be OK. I got a termination notice. I was accused on not properly putting in for the vacation I was on.
AUSA: Had you put in?
CC: Yes, to Harv Pierre.
AUSA: Did you lose benefits?
Capricorn Clark: All of them. Health, 401(k), my house and car.
AUSA: What did Mr. Combs say?
CC: That I would never work again. That he would make me kill myself.

The animosity between Diddy and 50 Cent became public when 50 Cent released the diss track “The Bomb” in 2006. In the song, 50 Cent insinuated that Diddy had knowledge about the 1997 murder of The Notorious B.I.G., rapping, “Who shot Biggie Smalls? … Man, Puffy know who hit that n####.” Diddy has always denied any involvement or knowledge regarding Biggie’s murder.

Their rivalry intensified when both became involved in the vodka business. Diddy marketed Ciroc, while 50 Cent became the face of Effen Vodka. The competition between their brands led to further public jabs and taunts, with 50 Cent regularly mocking Ciroc and Diddy on social media.

50 Cent also attempted to sign Ma$e, who was under contract with Bad Boy. Diddy reportedly demanded $2 million to release Ma$e, while 50 Cent was only willing to pay $1 million. The failed deal, and Diddy’s public comments about 50 Cent’s finances, reportedly aggravated 50 Cent, fueling further resentment.

Over the years, 50 Cent has used social media to relentlessly troll Diddy, too, especially as Diddy’s legal troubles continued to mount. To add insult to injury, 50 Cent has publicly criticized Diddy’s lifestyle and parties, suggesting discomfort with Diddy’s social scene and implying that their values and backgrounds are fundamentally different. He has repeatedly stated that he avoids Diddy’s parties and doesn’t approve of his behavior—and apparently for good reason. Diddy’s “freak-offs” are at the root of his current trial.

SZA Toasts AMA Wins With Champagne Balancing Act Inspired By Kim Kardashian

SZA celebrated her double win at the 2025 American Music Awards in Las Vegas by channeling Kim Kardashian’s infamous “Break the Internet” pose—complete with a champagne bottle perched on her lower back.

The “Saturn” singer posted a carousel of photos from the Monday (May 27) ceremony, but one cheeky image stole the spotlight.

In the photo, SZA beams while balancing a bottle of bubbly on her backside, a playful nod to Kardashian’s 2014 Paper magazine cover that once drove nearly 1% of all U.S. web traffic in a single day.

The homage didn’t go unnoticed. Kardashian’s original pose, shot by Jean-Paul Goude, featured her pouring champagne into a coupe glass resting on her bare bottom. The viral image was inspired by Goude’s 1976 photo “Carolina Beaumont, New York.”

SZA’s version skipped the glass but kept the spirit, adding her own flair to the moment.

Alongside the champagne snap, she shared photos with Shaboozey and her parents, capturing the joy of the night.

Kevin Liles attempted to get ahead of a looming sexual assault allegation Tuesday (May 27) by releasing a statement accusing rapper Lady Luck of trying to extort him for $30 million.

The longtime music executive said he received a letter from Shanell Jones—known professionally as Lady Luck—and her attorneys demanding a multi-million dollar payout or she would publish a book and file a lawsuit accusing him of sexual misconduct.

Lady Luck allegedly threatened to claim that Liles groomed her 26 years ago, exposed himself and pressured her into oral sex while she was in his car.

Liles flatly denied the accusations and described them as a calculated attempt to damage his name. He even launched a website using Lady Luck’s name, ladylucksownwords.com, to combat the claims.

In addition to her social media posts, Liles and his team also decided to publish Lady Luck’s criminal records.

“None of this ever happened,” Liles wrote. “Her threatened allegations are totally false. And they are contradicted by Ms. Jones’s many public statements about me and her experience at Def Jam. Rather than pay her and her legal team, I am publicly addressing what I view to be an extortion attempt.”

Liles said he signed Jones to Def Jam in 1999 and gave her opportunities to build a Hip-Hop career. He said her career didn’t meet expectations, and she was eventually dropped from the label.

He pointed to her criminal history, including felony convictions for armed robbery and heroin distribution and said she has publicly admitted to criminal behavior in interviews.

Despite her past, Liles said he continued to support her when asked, including helping her as recently as last year.

Liles cited past interviews and social media posts in which Jones praised him, referred to him as a mentor and maintained a close relationship with his family.

He also referenced her comments in podcasts from 2016, 2022 and 2023, where she denied any inappropriate sexual interactions with older men, which he said contradicted her current claims.

Liles said he believes Jones is motivated by money and frustration over her stalled career.

“Regardless of my empathy for Ms. Jones, I will not be extorted, nor will I pay a dollar to those that threaten to ruin my reputation or the legacy I intend to leave the culture I’ve spent my life serving,” Liles said.

Kevin Liles said he became concerned after seeing Jones appear intoxicated during recent media appearances where she discussed drug use and unusual spiritual beliefs.

Liles said his legal team will handle the situation and he plans to continue his work in the community despite the emotional toll of the accusations.

He’s also facing a separate civil lawsuit filed in 2025 by Jane Doe, who accuses him of sexual assault and harassment between 2000 and 2002.

That case also names Universal Music Group and Def Jam as defendants. The defense argues the claims are too old and were previously settled, while the plaintiff cites a New York law that temporarily allows old claims to be filed.

Motions to dismiss are pending.

The Psychology of Casino Music

Ever walked into a casino and noticed how you feel different almost immediately? The lights flash, the chips clatter, the slot machines ding and spin. Even an online casino can make you lose sense of your surroundings. That’s because there’s another invisible player at work: the music.

Casinos don’t just pump in background tunes for fun. The music you hear in a casino is carefully curated and deliberately designed to mess with your brain. Whether it’s upbeat pop, jazzy instrumentals, or mellow lounge music, every note has a purpose. Let’s take a peek into the psychology behind casino music and why it’s such a powerful tool.

Setting the Mood

First off, music sets the tone.

Casinos want you to feel relaxed but alert, happy but not distracted, focused but not stressed. That can be a tricky emotional cocktail, and music helps mix it just right. Soft ambient music creates a comfortable environment where people feel safe spending time. Too much silence and people get anxious. Too much noise and people get overstimulated.

Some casinos go with jazzy instrumentals or classic pop hits from the ’70s and ’80s—nostalgic tunes that spark good memories and positive vibes. Others use subtle ambient tracks that fade into the background but keep the energy flowing. Either way, the goal is to make you feel like this is a place where good times happen—and where it’s totally normal to lose track of time.

Sense of Time

Have you ever noticed that casinos do not have clocks? There’s a reason for that. No windows either. That’s no accident. The idea is to keep you in a timeless, suspended reality where the outside world (and your responsibilities) don’t exist.

Music plays a role here too. Some casinos use continuous playlists with no breaks or distinct time cues, so you can’t easily tell how long you’ve been there. The vibe stays consistent, which helps create a sense of endless “flow”—that feeling of being so immersed in something that hours feel like minutes.

Tempo Tricks

Here’s where things get sneakier.

Studies have shown that music tempo—how fast or slow a song is—can influence behavior in all kinds of environments, including restaurants, shopping malls, and yes, casinos. Slow-tempo music tends to make people linger. Fast-tempo music increases activity.

So what does that mean in practice? Slot machine areas often feature faster-paced music, encouraging you to keep spinning. Table game zones might have slower, smoother music to encourage you to settle in, play a few extra hands, maybe order another drink.

It’s all about nudging you toward the behavior the casino wants. And often, you don’t even realize it’s happening.

The Reward Loop

Casinos are all about reward loops—you press a button, lights flash, sounds play, coins (or digital equivalents) clink into your tray. Even if you lose, you’re getting little bursts of stimulation that keep you hooked. And music is a big part of that loop.

Ever noticed how every win on a slot machine comes with a happy little jingle? That’s not just for fun. It’s classical conditioning 101. Just like Pavlov’s dog drooled at the sound of a bell, your brain starts to associate those cheerful tunes with positive outcomes. Even when you’re not winning, the background music keeps you in a pleasant emotional state, making it more likely you’ll keep playing.

This is the same for sweepstake casinos in the US found at Gambling.com. Despite players not playing with their own money, the casinos still utilise music and sounds for rewards when players win.

Customising the Experience

Some high-end casinos even personalise music for different areas or times of day. Mornings might feature light, cheerful music to get people in a positive mood early. Late at night, they might switch to more energetic tracks to fight fatigue and keep the party going.

There’s also some evidence that different types of music can attract different types of players. Younger gamblers may respond better to modern pop or EDM, while older players might prefer classic rock or easy listening. Casinos often analyze customer demographics and adjust playlists accordingly.

The Sensory Strategy

Of course, music doesn’t work alone. It’s part of a larger sensory strategy that includes lighting, layout, sounds, smells, and even temperature. But music plays a unique role because it taps into memory, emotion, and subconscious patterns.

It’s one of the most powerful ways to create atmosphere and influence behavior—without being obvious. You don’t walk into a casino thinking, “Wow, this playlist is making me spend more money!” But your brain is reacting all the same.

Overall, casino music is more than just background noise. It’s a finely tuned psychological tool designed to shape your experience, influence your behavior, and keep you engaged. From tempo to tone, every element plays a part in crafting that “can’t-stop-won’t-stop” casino vibe.

Next time you’re in a casino and catch yourself tapping your foot while chasing a win, remember: the house might have the odds—but the music has your brain.

Migos Page Hijacked In $4.3M Bitcoin Blackmail Against Solana’s Raj Gokal

Migos had their official Instagram account hijacked Tuesday (May 27) in an apparent strange and public attempt to extort Solana co-founder Raj Gokal for 40 Bitcoin—roughly $4.3 million.

The compromised page posted at least seven images, including photos of Gokal holding his passport and driver’s license, with all personal details visible.

One image showed a woman, believed to be Gokal’s wife, holding her own ID.

The captions clarified the hackers’ intentions: “you should’ve paid the 40 btc” and “it was only 40 btc.. should’ve paid.”

The attackers didn’t stop there. They exposed Gokal’s phone number and email address, telling followers to “spam” him. The account bio was edited to promote a meme coin scam, and Telegram links and audio clips were also uploaded.

Former Migos rapper Quavo confirmed the breach on his Instagram Stories, writing, “Our Ig is hacked and will be back up shortly thanks.”

The posts remained live for about 90 minutes before being scrubbed. The account has since returned to normal.

Gokal had reportedly already raised red flags about suspicious activity a week earlier. On May 20, he warned that someone had been trying to gain access to his email and social media accounts, saying the attempts had been ongoing for more than a week.

Neither Gokal nor the Solana Foundation has issued a formal statement about the incident.

Once the account was restored, Migos fans wasted no time cracking jokes on the account.

“Well that was fun,” one person wrote.

Another chimed in, “dat nicca knew to pay that 40 btc.”

A third added, “Ngl kinda miss Raj. He was there to hack migos page & post nonsense when alot of things was gloomy. R.I.P RAJ you’ll never be forgotten.”

Kai Cenat Clashes With Kanye West Fan On AMAs Livestream

Kai Cenat wasn’t in the mood for Kanye West praise during a livestream at the 2025 American Music Awards on Sunday (May 18) when a man interrupted his broadcast to show love to the controversial rapper.

The Twitch star was initially laughing and chatting with a young girl accompanying the man, but things took a turn when the conversation shifted to Kanye West.

The man began, “Where’s Kanye at? We want to say — we love Ye. We love Ye for being outspoken, regardless, because it’s America, and I think it’s a great thing to live in a free country. Don’t you, Kai?… I think he’s a great guy… God bless you, Kai.”

Cenat didn’t hesitate to shut it down.

“So, you really hopped my stream, knowing my influence, to come on here and say that?” Cenat said, visibly annoyed.

The man tried to double down on his support for West, calling him a “great guy,” but Cenat wasn’t having it.

“I think I want to protect my energy. But I’m going to politely ask you, get out of here, guys. Please! All right, I get it, but I don’t want that,” he said, cutting the moment short.

Kai Cenat Cancels Kanye West Livestream

Cenat and West have a rocky history that’s played out publicly over the past year. The two met outside the 2025 Grammys, where Cenat recalled being impressed by West’s dramatic entrance in twin chrome Maybachs. “When he pulled up, he hopped out slow motion, I seen the aura,” Cenat said. “He had all black on with some boots. His teeth were bust down. He dapped me up and said, ‘I appreciate, bro. I’ll see you tonight.’ You know we’re gonna go to Tokyo. He said we gonna get on stream and see what happens.”

That stream never happened.

Cenat later pulled the plug after West posted a series of antisemitic messages in February 2025.

Addressing his audience, Cenat said, “I’m gonna go ahead and address the elephant in the room… I don’t know what’s going on, bro. I think it’s GGs.” He added, “I seen the tweets. I don’t know what’s going on. I think it’s [over]. It’s crazy… It’s just back to back to back.”

West didn’t take the cancellation lightly. He lashed out at Cenat, saying, “F### Kai Cenat,” and claimed, “I invented the streaming s### with Donda,” accusing Cenat of stealing his ideas.

The two had previously patched things up after West sent Cenat some Yeezy gear — which didn’t fit.

Jennifer Lopez Kisses Female Dancer During 2025 AMA Performance

Jennifer Lopez kicked off the American Music Awards on Monday night (May 26) in Las Vegas with a six-minute performance that included 23 songs, a tribute to U.S. veterans and two onstage kisses that had the internet buzzing.

The actress and singer opened the show at the Fontainebleau with a rapid-fire medley of tracks like “Dance Again,” “Lose Control,” “Hot To Go” and “Die With a Smile.” But it wasn’t just the music that had people talking — it was the choreography.

Midway through the set, a male dancer leaned in and kissed Lopez on the lips. Moments later, a female dancer followed suit. A second woman then hovered inches from Lopez’s mouth, their faces nearly touching.

Lopez later explained the concept behind the performance, revealing it was her idea. “It was kind of like a narrative, a little story going on,” she told Variety. “The whole idea was around the mirrors and the reflections. We all take in this great music every year, and we go into our own world with the music, and that was the whole premise of the performance. Then, throughout it, everyone feels it differently. I like the idea of losing control.”

Comedian Tiffany Haddish added some levity after the set, joking, “Save a dancer for me, J.Lo. Damn! You ain’t the only one out here single.” The performance took place on Memorial Day and ended with Lopez honoring America’s veterans.

Lopez’s kiss-filled opener drew comparisons to the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards, where Madonna famously kissed Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera during a medley of “Like a Virgin.”

Jennifer Lopez was initially scheduled to be part of that performance but had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. Aguilera stepped in to complete the trio.

The Miami getaway comes as Cardi continues to vent her frustrations over delays tied to her next project.

Last month, she took to Instagram Live to air out her struggles with collaborators dragging their feet.

“I really need these f###### features,” she said. “And it’s like I’m not really trying to press or go crazy on these artists because I love them down. But it’s like, come on now! I need that! I need that right now! Helloooo! Y’all don’t want to miss this opportunity. I’ll sing this s### myself! But I really need y’all, and I need y’all to hurry up, and I love y’all. I feel like nobody want to miss being on this album.”

More recently, she pointed to marketing logistics as another holdup.

“Right now, it’s really, really, really not my fault,” she said. “Well, it kind of is, but it’s kind of not … I’m trying to get everything at the same time. This bundle s### be annoying, I’m not even gonna lie.”

She added that she dislikes relying on others and would’ve already announced the album if it were solely up to her.

Cardi B & Stefon Diggs Make Public Debut

While the music waits, Cardi’s relationship with the Buffalo Bills wide receiver continues to heat up.

The pair were first linked in October 2024 after being spotted together at a New York City nightclub. They spent Valentine’s Day 2025 together in Miami and made their first official public appearance as a couple on May 12 at a New York Knicks playoff game, where they were seen holding hands, whispering and sharing affectionate moments courtside.
