Tina Knowles Recalls Beyoncé Standing Up To Childhood Bullies

Beyoncé was a shy girl who was bullied as a child, but she eventually found the courage to stand up to bullies to defend a friend, her mother recalled.

Tina Knowles revealed her famous daughter wasn’t always the confident, self-assured artist fans know and love. During a recent interview, the 70-year-old businesswoman shared her pride at Beyoncé coming to the aid of a friend and fighting back against the bullies.

Vogue asked Knowles about her favorite memories of her daughters’ childhoods as a mother to Beyoncé and younger daughter, Solange.

“She was very shy, and she got bullied a bit,” she said of Beyoncé. “But the day that she stood up for someone—she didn’t stand up for herself she stood up for them. I’m getting emotional talking about it. I was just, I couldn’t have been more proud of her.”

She also recalled Solange becoming an advocate for change from a very early age.

“Solange was her signing a petition in school,” Tina continued. “She was only in, like, fifth grade and she was up getting petitions signed. So she’s always been an activist.”

Tina Knowles also shared a precious memory of Kelly Rowland, who lived with the Knowles in her youth and is considered a daughter to the family.

“Kelly was always this kid that just tried to protect everybody,” Knowles added. “I have a memory of her with her best friend Barbara and her being a mediator and just being this little peacemaker.”

Knowles gave her “three girls” their flowers in her Instagram caption, praising them for being special. She also urged “Never compare the negatives, always praise the positive differences.”

Lil Wayne Fans Wonder If Rapper’s On Drugs Following Skip Bayless Promo

Concerned Lil Wayne fans have started comparing the New Orleans native’s appearance to his Atlanta rap counterpart Future following a recent photo-op with well-known sports broadcaster Skip Bayless.

The entire discourse started after Bayless shared a photo of himself and Lil Wayne on Twitter (X) in order to tease some sort of content he and Weezy recorded.

“Wayne and I this afternoon at his house,” Bayless wrote in part before adding, “Great 3-hour convo about Luka, Ant Man, Caitlin, Wayne’s short-lived baseball career, a commercial he made with LeBron … and aliens. #Blessed.”

With the snapshot garnering well over four million views on the platform, it didn’t take long before Lil Wayne’s fans caught wind of the photo and began reacting. Along with remarks about Wayne’s appearance, a discussion comparing Weezy and Future developed after a user made a point about their age.

“Wayne & Future being the same age kinda shows you who the real drug addict is,” user @ZBankEnt wrote.

From there, the levees were broken, and the Future and Lil Wayne comparisons flooded the timeline as users quoted the remark with retorts of their own such as, “Future admitted that he wasn’t doing all the drugs he rapped about so there’s that” and “Wayne needs some help man.”

In another tweet in the thread a user joked “That black definitely cracked,” while another user added, “Codeine is a hell of a drug.”

What do you think? Does Lil Wayne really look that bad? Or does Future just look that much better than him? To be fair, Wayne is technically 41 while Future is 40.

Luke James Names His R&B Mount Rushmore & Teases “The Chi” Season 6

Luke & Q singer Luke James is in his acting bag.

James is most recognized from his standout role on SHOWTIME’s The Chi, which returned for its sixth season on May 10, and he might be on a few R&B playlists. Either way, Luke James’ talents speak volumes — not only about his passion but also the dedication to his craft.

The New Orleans native is currently celebrating his newest role, THEM: THE SCARE, on Amazon Music. The new series arrive on the heels of their first installment, subtitled Covenant, which took place circa 1952.

AllHipHop had the pleasure of chatting on the red carpet with Luke James, who was all smiles. James recently became a father to nine-month-old Wolfe and couldn’t wait to get back home.

AllHipHop: What’s the best part about fatherhood?

Luke James: Being present. I really feel present right now and in time, and really understanding what time really means. The value.

AllHipHop: How old is Wolfe?

Luke James: Nine months.

AllHipHop: They grow so fast.

Luke James: So fast, oh my gosh. That’s why I’m trying to hurry and get to the crib. You know? It’s a new day.

AllHipHop: Does he know that daddy is a star?

Luke James: I don’t know.  But he looks at me like one, so that means everything.

AllHipHop: Can you give us an exclusive sneak peek on the new season of The Chi

Luke James: Whoa, exclusive? Things are gonna really get shaky with Victor trying to play two worlds. Playing two worlds, it’s going to get really shaky.

AllHipHop: Who would be in your R&B Mount Rushmore?

Luke James: What time period? Marvin Gaye…

AllHipHop: Today.

Luke James: Mount Rushmore: Joe, Babyface, Boys II Men. Oh wow, it’s a lot of them. Tank.

AllHipHop: You gotta do the R&B Money podcast!

Luke James: Yeah I want to. But Tank is someone I grew up listening to, became my brother and is still here. You gotta look, and is still relevant like hell. It’s hard to do that as a Black artist, we age out. He’s forever. That’s Mount Rushmore.

Snoop Dogg Thanks Drake & Kendrick Lamar For Ending Mumble Rap

Snoop Dogg believes Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s epic rap beef elevated Hip-Hop lyricism and ushered in a revival of real lyricism, paving the way for the demise of mumble rap.

The West Coast legend refused to be drawn into the specifics of the battle but gave both rappers their flowers. He weighed in on the feud during an interview with Entertainment Tonight published Monday (May 27).

“Well, the only thing I want to say about that whole scenario is that I want to give both of them a shout out for raising the bar as far as lyrics, as far as song-making and writing because the writing has been upped since the confrontation,” he said.

Furthermore, Snoop Dogg claimed Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s beef permanently altered the Hip-Hop landscape.

“As far as what they did for the industry and the rap game, they made you rap again. You can’t mumble your way and gimmick your way to a song no more, buddy. So thank y’all,” he added.

Nonetheless, Snoop Dogg declined to pick a side, remaining neutral. “Those are my nephews,” he explained. “I’m not in the middle of it. I support both of them and that’s personal business, not my business.”

Despite his desire to remain neutral, the Death Row Records boss found himself embroiled in the beef. Drake recreated Snoop Dogg and Tupac’s voices on his Kendrick Lamar diss “Taylor Made Freestyle” using A.I.

“They did what? When? How? Are you sure?” Snoop sarcastically asked his Instagram followers after the song dropped. “Y’all have a good night.”

Wu-Tang’s Rare Copy Of “Once Upon A Time In Shaolin” Can Finally Be Heard—With A Catch

The nearly-mythical Wu-Tang Clan album, Once Upon A Time In Shaolin, is essentially folklore at this point.

The sole copy of the project has been passed around like a hot potato since falling into the hands of incarcerated “Pharma Bro” Martin Shkreli several years ago. But now, according to The Guardian, those willing to shell out the money to fly to Tasmania (yes, in Australia) can hear the album for the first time.

The Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) in Hobart has apparently acquired the album on loan from digital art collective Pleasr for its upcoming exhibition “Namedropping,” which will “explore status, celebrity and notoriety.” Its appearance at MONA will be the first time that the album has been loaned to a museum since the original sale.

A post shared by Museum of Old and New Art (@monamuseum)

MONA will hold free, ticketed listening sessions from June 15-24, where members of the public can hear a “curated” 30-minute mix of the album, played from a personalized Wu-Tang PlayStation 1 inside MONA’s recording studio, Frying Pan.

“Every once in a while, an object on this planet possesses mystical properties that transcend its material circumstances,” Jarrod Rawlins, MONA’s director of curatorial affairs, said. “Once Upon a Time in Shaolin is more than just an album, so when I was thinking about status, and what a transcendent namedrop could be, I knew I had to get it into this exhibition.”

Pleasr said it was “honored” to partner with MONA to support RZA’s vision for the album. It said in a statement, “Ten years ago, the Wu-Tang Clan had a bold vision to make a single copy album as a work of fine art. To ‘put it in an art gallery … make music become a living piece like a Mona Lisa or a sceptre from Egypt. With this single work of art, the Wu-Tang Clan’s intention was to redefine the meaning of music ownership and value in a world of digital streaming and commodification of music.”

Once Upon a Time in Shaolin, widely considered one of the most valuable albums ever made, was recorded in secret between 2006 and 2013 and lives in a decorative silver box. It reportedly features contributions from all surviving members of Wu-Tang Clan—and curiously, two appearances from Cher.

The album’s creation was an attempt at illustrating the impact of streaming and piracy on the value of music. Wu-Tang producers Cilvaringz and RZA once described it as “a 400-year-old Renaissance-style approach to music” and said they hoped by “offering it as a commissioned commodity” it would “inspire and intensify urgent debates about the future of music.”

The saga of Wu-Tang Clan’s Once Upon a Time in Shaolin is comprised of many different chapters.

A single two-CD copy was pressed in 2014 and stored in a secured vault at the Royal Mansour Hotel in Marrakech, Morocco, then auctioned through Paddle8 auction house the following. year. A legal agreement with the purchaser stipulated that the album couldn’t be commercially exploited for 88 years (2103), although it can be played at listening parties.

Shkreli was the winning bidder at $2 million to many people’s chagrin. RZA explained the sale was complete before Shkreli’s controversial price hike of the anti-infective agent Daraprim. After learning Shkreli was behind the purchase, RZA said Cilvaringz and the Wu-Tang Clan donated a “significant portion” of the proceeds to charity, including the Children’s Literacy Society, the Hip-Hop Chess Federation and TTAC, an institution focused on showcasing alternative cures for cancer.

In January 2016, Shkreli promised he’d release the album for free if Donald Trump won the 2016 U.S. presidential election—which he did. After Trump was elected, Shkreli streamed excerpts of the album online. Shkreli then attempted to sell Once Upon a Time in Shaolin on eBay in September 2017, with the winning bid passing $1 million. But Shkreli was incarcerated on unrelated fraud counts before the sale could be finalized. RZA attempted to buy the album back, but he was contractually unable to at the time.

“I’ve actually tried to get it back but the paperwork and the contract stops me from getting it back,” he explained to Rolling Stone. “When [Shkreli] put it on eBay, the first thing I did was call my lawyer, and I was like, ‘Yo, let’s go.’ And they said, ‘All right, check with your contract.’ And it’s no, you can’t do it. Ain’t that a b####?”

Following Shkreli’s securities fraud conviction, a federal court seized Once Upon a Time in Shaolin along with his other assetsIn July 2021, the U.S. Department of Justice sold it to non-fungible token collectors PleasrDAO for $4 million to cover his debts.

Mike Tyson Recovering After Mid-Air Medical Emergency

Mike Tyson is reportedly recovering after requiring emergency medical attention during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles.

The boxing legend, set to return to the ring to take on social media star Jake Paul in July, was aboard a flight on Monday (May 26), when he suddenly became unwell about 30 minutes before the plane was scheduled to land.

Mike Tyson reportedly became “nauseous and dizzy” after suffering from an existing health issue. According to eyewitnesses, flight staff enquired if there was a doctor on board.

Paramedics came to his aid once the flight landed in L.A., and the 57-year-old received treatment while still onboard. The plane had been delayed by two hours in Miami because of the heat.

Nonetheless, Tyson’s team says the boxer is doing well and is grateful to the paramedics who treated him.

“Thankfully Mr. Tyson is doing great,” his representatives told The New York Post. “He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing. He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him.”

Mike Tyson is just weeks away from his Jake Paul fight on July 20, and the younger fighter doesn’t intend to pull any punches.

In a recent TMZ interview, Paul acknowledged that Tyson is capable of knocking him out “in an embarrassing fashion.”

Nonetheless, Paul believes he can “channel” Tyson and get a victory. “So, I have to reciprocate that same energy. But Mike Tyson is a killer. He’s ruthless. He’s the most vicious champion ever. So, I have to channel that Mike Tyson energy to finish him. And the legend must fall.”

Jelly Roll Reveals Secret To Fresh Feet

Jelly Roll unveiled an unusual personal quirk while discussing his victory at the Academy of Country Music Awards, where he won Music Event of the Year for “Save Me,” a duet with Lainey Wilson.

The Hip-Hop artist revealed on the Audacy podcast that he only wears new socks, a practice he attributes to fear of developing “stinky feet.”

“Can I tell you a frivolous habit I have?” Jelly Roll said coyly during his podcast appearance. “Don’t judge me for this, y’all. I promise I grew up very humble, but I only wear socks once.”

Despite his typically modest demeanor, this 39-year-old confessed to indulging in his most indulgent habit. “I buy socks in bulk … It’s the most frivolous thing I’ve done with my success,” he said.

The quirky revelation came shortly after Jelly Roll celebrated a significant career milestone with his ACM award win.

Even in the glow of such triumph, the singer emphasized the little extravagances his success afforded him.

He explained more about the rationale behind this seemingly excessive habit: “I’m sorry, I hope I didn’t let nobody down with that, but when you’re fat, you can’t have stinky feet too, so you gotta have fresh socks!”

50 Cent Reacts To Rumor About Diddy “Spooning” Male Producer

50 Cent claims he always knew the truth following a recent rumor about Diddy hooking up with a male producer.

Social media star Josh Ostrovsky, aka The Fat Jewish, claimed Diddy threatened him after catching the fallen mogul “spooning” with another man at a swanky party.

During a recent episode of the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast. Ostrovsky recalled a story he first told in 2015. He said he was at a “Black excellence” event at Diddy’s Star Island mansion when he happened upon Diddy being intimate with another man.

“I walked in a room I shouldn’t have walked into, and I saw him hooking up with a dude,” he explained. Basically, like, full spooning situation.”

Ostrovsky identified the man as producer Felix da Housecat. He claims Diddy spotted him and asked why he looked scared. “Everyone in the room stopped,” he said. “I was like, ‘Is this the bathroom?”

According to Ostrovsky, he was told, “This is a room where male celebrities hook up.”

On Monday morning (May 26), 50 Cent shared a clip from the podcast on Instagram.

“Don’t feel bad I told them something wasn’t right,” he captioned his post. “They just couldn’t see it till now. The Diddler in full Effect.”

Meanwhile, Ostrovsky claims Diddy’s team asked him to say he was joking about the alleged Felix da Housecat encounter after he told the story on a podcast.

Ostrovsky then repeated the story on Hot97 but it never aired. He claims the host was scared, telling him “I’m not going to run this interview because Diddy’s insane. He blew up Kid Cudi’s car.”

Diddy’s Brand Dropped By Retailer Amid Rumors Feds Seek To Drain Mogul’s Finances

Diddy has been dropped by another company after a major eyewear retailer ditched his Sean John frames amid his ongoing legal woes.

America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses are severing ties with the disgraced Bad Boy Records boss, per TMZ. A new report from the outlet reveals stores were instructed to remove Diddy’s merch from the shelves last Tuesday (May 21).

Diddy’s Sean John frames are also absent from the website. The company reportedly axed the frames from their online platform last month.

While the eyewear brand did not specify why they pulled the frames, the directions to staff came just two days after Diddy apologized for the brutal assault on his former girlfriend captured on surveillance video.

It’s not just Diddy’s Sean John company that’s taking a hit. Last week, Peloton revealed it stopped using his music. The exercise company made the move following “concerns” from patrons. The company informed customers they “paused the use of” Diddy’s music and removed the Bad Boy Entertainment Artist Series.

Meanwhile, rumors are circulating that the Feds are deploying an unconventional strategy in their ongoing investigation. Sources speculate that the Feds might be attempting to drain his considerable finances. Diddy is reportedly nearly at billionaire status, although the latest moves from brands severing ties will be hurting his pockets.

Earlier this month, two more women came from accusing Diddy of sexual assault.

Metro Boomin Trolls 21 Savage Over Drake Association And Gets Blocked

21 Savage kicked Metro Boomin off his Instagram Live session over the weekend after the producer trolled him over his relationship with Drake.

On Sunday evening (May 26) 21 Savage was vibing on IG Live, listening to music when Metro Boomin joined him for a chat. Unfortunately, Metro was having audio issues, and so couldn’t be heard.

However, 21 Savage soon noticed that Metro had trolled him in the chat and turfed him off the stream.

“Oh you was talkin s###?” 21 said after noticing Metro’s “OVO Savage” comment. “B#### get off my live. I ain’t even see all them other comments. I’m finna block that n####.”

If blocking him wasn’t enough, 21 Savage then apparently reported Metro Boomin to Instagram.

“He’s bullying me,” he said while seemingly completing an Instagram form. “Submit report.”

21 Savage then took a leaf out of Drake’s book, borrowing his infamous line, adding, “Metro shut your hoe ass up and make some drums n####.”

Despite the trolling, 21 Savage insisted he would remain neutral during Metro’s recent beef with Drake.

“Don’t keep coming on to my muthafuckin Live talking about no muthafuckin beef,” Savage said during an IG Live earlier this month. “Metro my brother and Drake my brother. Them n##### going to figure that s### out eventually.”

“Conversations” By Makeout Shinobi Enters the Top 40 US R&B Charts

Makeout Shinobi is an Independent R&B/Soul artist who’s really starting to catch momentum with his single “Conversations.” The single has officially broken into the iTunes Top 40 R&B US Charts. This achievement is particularly interesting as the chart is predominantly occupied by major artists with substantial backing from major labels. Makeout Shinobi, New York based artist, stands out as an independent artist who’s sticking it to the majors by competing with them without that same big label push.

“Conversations” is a whole vibe. Makeout’s voice is truly unique and you can feel that he believes every word he sings. The single has a unique music video that has true cinematic pull. We highly recommend diving into Makeout’s full allure, but at the very minimum, give his viral single “Conversations” a listen and check out the official music video on YouTube.

Betting Tips To Be A High-Roller Like Drake

Drake has been in the news a lot lately and for a lot of the wrong reasons. One of the highest-selling artists of all time didn’t fare too well in a diss track battle against Kendrick Lamar with most people agreeing that the latter defeated the Toronto native in style. Cue the internet clowning on Drake but we don’t think he’ll mind too much about that.

The man is a multi-millionaire with more money than sense – as proven by his gambling track record. When Drake isn’t losing diss track battles he’s placing bets on loads of sporting events, usually consisting of large amounts of money. He’s what the gambling industry calls a high-roller – but how do you become a high-roller like Drake?

Thankfully, you don’t need any musical talent, nor do you need to be a millionaire. In just a few steps you’ll achieve the high roller status and everything that comes with it.

What is a High Roller?

A high roller is generally defined as someone who consistently wagers large amounts of money. This can be at casinos, betting sites or any other gambling institution. Wikipedia also notes that high rollers are called whales or cheetahs – though these terms are typically reserved for high rollers at proper casinos.

How much money do you need to bet to be a high roller? Great question! Drake bets hundreds of thousands of dollars but you don’t have to go that crazy. Some people say betting a few hundred dollars is enough to be a high roller, others believe you need a few thousand.

Neither camp is correct; it’s down to the casino or gambling site to define a “high roller”. Many sites will specifically have minimum limits to be a high roller, so keep an eye on these and you’ll know how much is needed to get started. It won’t be crazy – the highest minimum limit for high rollers in online gambling is usually only a hundred dollars or so.

What are the benefits of being a High Roller?

As cool as it may sound to say you’re a high roller like Drake, there are other (far better) reasons to go down this path. Online casinos often reserve some of their best rewards for the high rollers as a way of saying thank you for gambling so much money with us. This can include unique bonuses like free spins outside GamStop with no deposit requirements, cashback rewards, loyalty perks and more.

How to Become a High Roller

Becoming a high roller is easier than people think. It’s merely a case of meeting the minimum deposit to be classified as a high roller at the online casino of your choosing. The smart thing to do is to research online casinos and pick the one with the lowest limit to classify you as a high roller.

When that’s done, you should follow these steps to maintain your status and win big:

  • Manage your money – Just because you’re betting large sums of money, this doesn’t mean you can ignore money management. Be aware of how much you’re gambling and ensure it doesn’t eat into your personal finances. High rollers like Drake can bet as much as they do without going broke because they always ensure there’s enough money in their bank accounts to handle all of life’s other expenses!
  • Take advantage of all high roller bonuses – When you achieve the high roller status, you will almost certainly be given a high roller bonus or two. This can involve a better welcome bonus when joining a site as well as unique reload bonuses. Take advantage of as many of these as possible to get even more money to wager.
  • Bet big on things with low odds – We’ll call this the Drake Approach to high rolling. If you follow him on Instagram you’ll see he posts screenshots of his bets all the time. Rather than throwing his money at random things, he does something quite smart. He takes bets with low odds and puts a huge amount of money on them. Because he’s betting so much, it means he’ll win quite a bit of cash from a bet that’s pretty likely to come true.

You should take this approach to ensure more wins as a high roller. Sports betting is great for this as it’s easier to predict than the randomness of a slot machine. If you prefer casino games, roulette is probably the best choice here. Betting large sums on Red or Black means you have a 50/50 chance of winning. Bet big, but look for small odds and you’ll win way more than if you just bet on anything.

With these tips, you can quickly become a high roller like Drake. The longer you stay a high roller, the more benefits you’ll gain from online gambling sites. They start with bonuses and can graduate to providing faster payout times, higher withdrawal limits or even special prizes to reward your loyalty!

Will Smith & Martin Lawrence Ensure Authenticity In “Bad Boys: Ride Or Die” Movie

Will Smith has emphasized that “Bad Boys: Ride or Die,” the forthcoming fourth chapter in the beloved franchise, stands independently and is not just a celebratory return.

Speaking to Extra’s Melvin Roberts, Smith reaffirmed the movie’s merit beyond mere nostalgia.

“We agreed after ‘Bad Boys 2’ that we would never come back to this franchise without a story deserving of it,” Will Smith stated. “We wanted the movie to live on its own merits and not merely be a victory lap because people liked it.”

Will Smith revealed his and co-star Martin Lawrence’s dedication to crafting an authentic film experience.

“Martin, the first day on this movie, stopped me and said, ‘No, no, no—we’re not rushing through this one. We reached part four, so we are going to savor every second of it,'” Smith added.

Martin Lawrence echoed Smith’s sentiments by stressing the importance of authenticity.

“We didn’t want to put something out there just for a cash grab,” Lawrence said.

The actors, whose camaraderie dates back to their first appearance in the 1995 original “Bad Boys,” have maintained a strong friendship over the decades.

Lawrence spoke positively about Smith’s evolution as an artist.

“I’ve seen his growth from ‘Fresh Prince’ to movies and everything he’s accomplished. It’s really impressive,” he said.

Will Smith reciprocated the admiration for Lawrence’s genuine nature.

“Just with Martin, how absolutely honest and open his heart is, you know? It’s like there’s no faking in that dude. I love that he can be calm and firm and has no problem saying what’s true in his heart.”

Rakim Preps First Solo Album Since 2009 With Upcoming Single Featuring Kurupt & Masta Killa

Hip-Hop legend Rakim—widely considered the “God MC”— is plotting his return with a new album this summer. According to Kurupt, who appears alongside Rakim and Masta Killa on their forthcoming track “Rebirth (N.M.A),” the project is expected to arrive on July 26, while the single will drop on June 21.

Tha Dogg Pound member announced the album in an Instagram post, telling his 200,000 followers, “July 26th – “Rebirth” Rakim new album. Produced by Tha God Mc himself….#Rakim #MasterKilla #GOTTi. MY GOD.” The comment section lit up with excitement from fans and peers alike, including Hi-Tek, LA the Darkman and Ruste Juxx.

The project will serve as Rakim’s first solo album since 2009’s The Seventh Seal. As executive producer Matthew “M80” Markoff told AllHipHop, the title is God’s Network: Reb7rth.

Rakim rose to Hip-Hop infamy in the 1980s and ’90s alongside Eric. B. The duo’s debut album, Paid In Full, arrived in 1987 with “Eric B. Is President” and the title track, two songs that are now bona fide Hip-Hop classics. They followed up with three additional albums: Follow the Leader (1988), Let the Rhythm Hit ‘Em (1990) and Don’t Sweat the Technique (1992).

Eminem cites Rakim as one of his biggest influence as do countless other MCs. This year marked the second time Eric B. and Rakim were nominated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Eric B. spoke to AllHipHop shortly after the nominations were announced.

“Maybe it’ll happen this time,” he said. “I feel great about it. Let me tell you, anytime anybody nominates you or thinks about you, you should feel great. I think it’s a long time coming. We’re all righteous guys and girls, so it’s on God’s time, not our time. I’d be just as appreciative if I won it the first time, so it’s great.”

When asked if he thought the Rock Hall was doing a good job of including Hip-Hop, he replied, “Everybody can poke holes at somebody else’s operation, and I would never do that. They have their own process. I would never throw rocks at the Hall. This is their institution, they built it, so they do it their way and I respect the process.”

The 2024 ceremony will once again stream live on Disney+ with a special airing on ABC at a later date and available on Hulu the next day. The 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony streamed live on Disney+ for the first time ever; the special on ABC reached more than 13 million viewers across linear and streaming, and ABC’s New Year’s Day telecast was the No. 1 entertainment choice among Adults 18-49.

Although they didn’t make it this time around, Eric B. and Rakim don’t harbor any hard feelings. After all, there’s always next year.

Taraji P. Henson Has Functioning Salon In Her House

Taraji P. Henson has transformed her home into a refuge for beauty and self-care, complete with a fully equipped salon. The salon provides a creative outlet that perfectly complements her busy schedule.

During an in-depth conversation with Allure magazine, the “Empire” actress revealed how she meticulously maintains her nails using an impressive setup in her house.

“The nail girls—the professional nail techs—love me because they swear I’m a pro, too,” Henson said during the interview. “They send me free products because they think I have customers. I ain’t doing nobody but my own… But I do have a functioning salon in my house.”

The 53-year-old “Hidden Figures” star elaborated on her personalized nail care routine, often using press-on nails crafted by her nail technician, Temeka Jackson.

“Most of the time, I’m wearing press-ons made by my nail technician Temeka Jackson. I have her pre-make them so I can switch out sets as quickly as I want.”

For her latest TV drama, “Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist,” Taraji P. Henson did her own nails, reaffirming her self-reliant approach.

“Sometimes you’ll catch my work on the red carpet, too,” she added. “I’m a true Virgo, so I don’t like to be at the mercy of anybody’s schedule; I’ll do it myself if I have to.”

In addition to her flair for nail artistry, the “Color Purple” actress swears by a range of products to ensure her nails remain healthy.

“Underneath those (press-on) nails, my nails are healthy AF because I take care of them using the Nail Tek Recovery System,” Henson explained. “It’s a little three-polish system that has a cuticle oil, a fibre filler, and a strengthening polish.”

Held in collaboration with TSU’s Commercial Music program, Music Makes Us, and the Recording Industry Association of America® (RIAA), the program equips students with industry insights and career resources.

Student participants were treated to a series of presentations by high-profile figures, including Hip-Hop icon Flavor Flav, award-winning artist Kaliii, and music executive Mitch Glazier.

This deep dive gave participants a competitive edge and fostered innovation and inclusivity within the industry.

The group also attended notable events, such as Gunna’s upcoming concert in Nashville and the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, which offered further industry exposure.

Morgan Craver, a member of the program, reflected on the transformative experience:

“I entered this program without any industry knowledge, and within a week, I gained a crash course in everything. It was overwhelming, but it prepared me for future opportunities. I am leaving the program excited for what lies ahead.”
