“Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” – Action, Storytelling, and Stunning Visuals

“Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” is the direct prequel to the 2015 action classic, “Mad Max: Fury Road.” This is the fifth film in the Mad Max franchise, and like the previous entries, it is directed by the legendary George Miller.

As you can surmise from the film’s trailers and synopsis, this prequel sets up the origin story of protagonist Furiosa, the fierce warrior featured in the aforementioned “Fury Road.” Covering 15 years of her life, Furiosa examines where she came from, her upbringing, how she arrived at the Citadel, and what drives her to the enraged state of redemption that we witness in this film and in “Fury Road.”

I thought “Furiosa” was an incredible prequel that further fleshed out the “Mad Max” universe that director George Miller has constructed. While “Fury Road” was ultimately a kinetic chase film that moved at a frantic pace, “Furiosa” is more nuanced, taking its time to tell a sprawling story that spans several years and five chapters. As the film takes viewers on a deep dive into this dystopian wasteland, we not only see the origins of Furiosa but are also introduced to familiar characters, locations, and story arcs established in 2015’s “Fury Road.”

Although “Furiosa” doesn’t have the same pacing and cadence as “Fury Road,” it never loses the spirit of that film, as we are provided with several high-octane action sequences throughout. The inventive action in “Furiosa” combines practical stunt work and visual effects, includes extended one-take shots, and is completely immersed in thrills and suspense. While “Furiosa” doesn’t contain the sustained amount of action as its 2015 predecessor, the vehicular action, spectacular stunts, and riveting camerawork on display are outstanding. One extended set piece in particular during the film’s second act is simply amazing and rivals what came before it in “Fury Road.”

In terms of performances, standouts include Alyla Browne and Anya Taylor-Joy, who both excel in their portrayals of the lead character, “Furiosa.” While the former plays Furiosa during the younger years of her backstory, the latter plays the adult version and absolutely captures the spirit and fierceness of Charlize Theron’s portrayal in “Fury Road.” Although Anya’s “Furiosa” doesn’t have a lot of dialogue in the film, she effectively emotes through her eyes, body language, and action prowess throughout. Additionally, Tom Burke does a great job as Praetorian Jack, a grizzled commander of a Citadel war rig.

However, of all the performances, the show-stealer in “Furiosa” may very well be Chris Hemsworth’s Dementus. As the main villain of the film, Hemsworth gives a charismatic performance incorporating shades of wit, strength, maniacal ruthlessness, and desperation, delivering several memorable monologues throughout. If I’m being honest, this may possibly be my favorite Chris Hemsworth role to date—he is simply that commanding and heightens every single scene he is a part of.

When it comes to the film’s direction, George Miller is still a master of his craft and shows no signs of slowing down. Miller orchestrates this sprawling epic with nuance, visual storytelling, and pulls out spirited performances from his talented cast. In addition, the film looks stunning thanks to the excellent cinematography by Simon Duggan, who gives the film a saturated and stylized look that is both aesthetically vibrant and appealing. Lastly, the production design, costume design, technical merits, and memorable score by composer Junkie XL are all incredible and left me very impressed.

Overall, I found this film to be an exhilarating cinematic experience that certainly deserves to be seen in a premium theatrical format. In my opinion, “Furiosa” is right on par with “Fury Road” in terms of quality and entertainment. While “Fury Road” contained more entertaining action spread across its entire runtime, I personally found the detailed storytelling, world-building, character work, Easter eggs, and clever callbacks in “Furiosa” to be equally impressive and a pleasant surprise.

“Furiosa” is one of the best prequels I’ve ever seen. It not only complements “Fury Road” perfectly but will also change the way you watch “Fury Road” going forward. The proverbial handoff from film to film is seamless and will leave die-hard fans of “Fury Road” grinning from ear to ear. Should George Miller choose to give us a sixth chapter of this legendary 45-year-old franchise, I am completely here for it!

“Furiosa: A Mad Max Story” is currently playing in theatres everywhere and is one of the very best films I’ve seen so far in 2024. This one comes HIGHLY recommended—enjoy!

Sheff G & Sleepy Hallow: D.L. Hughley Has Theory On Why They Were Poached By Donald Trump

D.L. Hughley is convinced he has the answer to why New York rappers Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow appeared at Donald Trump’s recent campaign rally in The Bronx.

The comedian outlined his rationale in a pair of posts between Twitter and Instagram, in which he highlighted Trump’s troubled past along with other factors he feels influenced the former president’s decision-making.

In the initial post he shared on Twitter (X), Hughley referenced Trump’s legal trouble as a common thread connecting him with Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow, who were recently released from prison.

“Of course #Trump likes #SheffG and #SleepyHallow, they’re the only people in America who currently have more felony indictments than he does! #TeamDl,” Hughley wrote in the tweet.

Hughley immediately followed up the tweet by resharing it in a post on Instagram where he further broke down Trump’s connections to felons and how it all may have factored into him joining forces with the rappers.

In the caption of the post of an A.I.-generated image of Trump rocking gold grills and a chain surrounded by Black men, Hughley accused 45 of pandering to the Black community while also exposing his connections to individuals who profited from illegitimate promotion of Black art.

The guy behind “FYRE FESTIVAL” #BillyMcFarland who was released from prison in 2022, is who brought out Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow to the Bronx rally. As of now, Donald Trump has been indicted four times. These indictments include charges related to the hush money payments to Stormy Daniels in New York, which led to an indictment by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office. Another significant indictment involves federal charges over the mishandling of classified documents after leaving the White House, brought by the Department of Justice.

Additionally, Trump faces charges in connection with his efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results, leading to both federal charges and separate state charges in Georgia. These cases are ongoing, with trials set to address issues ranging from campaign finance violations to obstruction of justice and conspiracy to defraud the United States.

On the other hand, Sheff G was released on bail on Friday (April 19). He paid $1.5 million to the New York City Department of Corrections. Sheff G, whose real name is Michael Williams, was one of 32 alleged gang members indicted for shootings and other crimes in 2023. Authorities claimed the 8 Trey Crips member used money from his rap career to facilitate violence in New York.

Charleston White Callously Reminds Orlando Brown Of Past Sexual Trauma In Viral Interview

Charleston White became a trending Twitter (X) topic on Saturday (May 25) after an interview clip from The Danza Project podcast went viral.

Speaking to former That’s So Raven actor Orlando Brown, he callously brought up the sexual abuse Brown allegedly experienced as a child, causing a cascade of online reactions.

The interview began with a rant from Brown as White was getting a haircut off-camera. At one point during the conversation, Brown was asked how his career and fame started. Brown claimed he fell into it with the help of Lucifer and Satan, leaving the host confused. White then chimed in, “Man, I don’t want to hear this s###.”

Once White got on camera, the exchange grew increasingly weirder when Brown suggested White was his father with, “I’m yo nut, I’m yo nut, bro.”

Throughout the interview, Brown repeatedly called White his “daddy,” which White initially ignored. Brown’s antics, however, then began to annoy White, and he abruptly walked out of the show.

But before White left, he uttered, “You done admitted to being f##### in the ass by Hollywood executives. You wouldn’t fight nobody. You didn’t fight them n##### out yo’ ass in Hollywood. When they was trying to f### you, did you fight?”

The comments left Brown speechless, who just continued to stare at White completely bewildered. Brown has made questionable comments several times over the years, including saying he once had a sexual encounter with Diddy.

“I got in my Diddy mode, I’m sorry,” he said at the time. “I started licking my lips. ‘Yo Diddy, you gave me the oosh goshh goof wash. You gave me the oosh gosh mooaf, the shoosh smosh. Diddy… yea son.’ I love it yo, I love it.”

In April 2020, he also recorded a TikTok video in which he alleged both Will Smith and Michael Jackson raped him.

50 Cent Re-Ignites Beef With Rick Ross—Prompts Vile Response & Accusation

50 Cent and Rick Ross’s years-long rap beef could be taking a nasty turn based on their recent interaction on social media.

On Saturday (May 25), 50 Cent shared a post on Instagram for the sole purpose of disparaging Ross for his past lyrics, which have drawn scrutiny on multiple occasions.

In a video featuring what appears to be an A.I.-generated composite photo of convicted sexual abusers Jeffrey Epstein, R. Kelly and disgraced Bad Boy music mogul Diddy, audio of Ross’s controversial verse on Rocko’s “U.O.E.N.O” featuring A$AP Rocky and Future plays in the background.

The clip focuses on Ross’s verse in which he essentially normalizes date rape with, “Put molly all in her champagne/She don’t even know it/I took her home and enjoyed that/She don’t even know it.”

50 Cent laid into Ross in the caption of the post by further deducing what the Maybach Music Group (MMG) lyricist could’ve been thinking when he crafted the verse.

“You know some times I think people are just stupid, why would you say this in song?,” 50 Cent wrote in part before adding, “I DRUGGED HER ASS, AND I RAP*D HER ASS, AND SHE AINT EVEN KNOW IT ! @bransoncognac @lecheminduroi.”

In a comment that has since been deleted, Ross responded with a low blow and appeared to accuse the G-Unit rapper of abusing the mother of his child.

“This was a Lyric, Daphne joy accused/says you sodomized and raped her as you held her down in front of your son Curtis @50cent,” Ross wrote in the deleted comment.

Ross appeared to be referencing the defamation lawsuit 50 Cent against Joy, the mother of their son Sire. According to court documents obtained by US Weekly and TMZ, the G-Unit rapper sued her for accusing him of rape and physical abuse in an Instagram post.

While 50 Cent and Ross have been beefing for years, the MMG boss has also recently been involved in disagreements with several other artists as of late. After releasing his “Champagne Moments” Drake diss last month, The Game dissed Rozay in a track of his own entitled “Freeway’s Revenge.”

Nicki Minaj‘s weekend is off to a rough start after the Grammy Award-nominated rapper was arrested in the Netherlands amid her Pink Friday 2 Tour. Now, she’s being forced to cancel her show in Manchester, which was scheduled for Saturday evening (May 25).

According to an Instagram post from the U.K. venue Co-Op Live ticket holders will be able to attend the show at a later date.

“Nicki Minaj’s scheduled performance at Manchester’s Co-op Live on Saturday 25th May has been postponed,” it read. “Tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled performance which will be announced ASAP. Despite Nicki’s best efforts to explore every possible avenue to make tonight’s show happen, the events of today have made it impossible. We are deeply disappointed by the inconvenience this has caused. More information will be available at your point of purchase.”

Minaj was taken into custody early Saturday after police discovered pre-rolled marijuana cigarettes in her luggage. Hours later, the Amsterdam Police Department issued a statement confirming her release from custody—although they didn’t mention her by name.

Instead, Netherlands military police spokesperson Robert Van Kapel said a 41-year-old American woman had been arrested for exporting “soft drugs.” She was also hit with a fine. Minaj later insisted the police just wanted to make her late for her concert in Manchester. Minaj elaborated on the incident in a series of Twitter posts.

“They’ve been trying everything they possibly can to TRY to stop this tour,” she began. “They took my luggage & when I asked where it is they said it’s on the plane. It couldn’t have been, I just pulled up. I never gave them my bags. They’re refusing to let me see my own bags. They’re being paid big money to try to sabotage my tour b/c soooooo many ppl are mad that it’s this successful & they can’t eat off me. They got caught stealing money from my travel/jets. Got fired. Got mad. Etc.

“This is how they plant things in your luggage. I’m on the jet alone. They try to make me book another jet every time. All b/c I fired mngmnt who I found out for years were adding on 30-50K on my jet & pocketing it. I fired a tour mngr recently who was doing the same thing & mad he got the boot. Their goal is to make me late, & to pocket 40K. This is Amsterdam btw, where weed is legal. I’m still in my car. They took my luggage w/o consent. Lied & said it was on the jet.”

She continued, “Now they said they found weed & that another group of ppl have to come here to weigh the pre-rolls. Keep in mind they took my bags without consent. My security has already advised them those pre-rolls belong to him. Oh yea & the pilot wants me to take my ig post down. And the ppl who weigh it ain’t here told you, it’s to try to make me late so that they can write negative stories. Jealousy is a disease. You know the rest.”

Michael Jackson was allegedly an East Coast Crip and reportedly took fades with artists such as 2Pac in his time banging on the West Coast well before Blueface’s “Respect My Cryppin” acknowledged L.A.’s Crip street gang.

The long-standing rumor was recently confirmed once again by well-known Los Angeles rap veteran Boo Kapone, who spoke about Jackson’s affiliations in a recent live stream. During the lengthy stream, Kapone made multiple jaw-dropping claims, even going as far as alleging Jackson and 2Pac were involved in a squabble that he described as an unfair matchup from the start because the “Man In The Mirror” vocalist was 6’2″.

“Pac swing, Mike duck it, Mike give him a left, then Pac Karate kicked. Mike blocked the kick and they go to the ground squabbling. We come break it up, Mike got grass in his perm and Pac got [points to his head].” He continued, “They shake hands and hugged squashed it, they say Mike beat him up but I say Pac swung first and Mike 6’2 he Joe Jackson son from Gary Indiana.”

In another portion of the stream, Kapon explained how Jackson transferred his affiliation from the East Coast Crips when he moved to Los Angeles.

“Mike was a vice, Lord n###a,” Kapone started off.

“Vice Lord Gary, Indiana. N###a that’s right down the road from Chicago. He was vice Lord. And then he came down here and the Mike Concepion put him on.”

Concepion is widely regarded as one of the founding members of the Crips street gang in LA. As Kapone continued, he remarked on the instance Jackson was jumped into the gang by Concepion himself.

“Mike had a deep voice, Mike said, ‘Hey, could give me a chicken Boo East side,’ I was thinking about Tookie, but he from the West side,” he said. He continued, explaining how an integral scene and character from Denzel Washington’s breakout film Training Day was based on Concepion and his tendancies while describing how Jackson ended up getting put on.

“Mike took that fade. He got put on. So Mike got out here. Boop. Bow. Bow. So if you ever seen ‘Training Day’ today, when we said, get me in the front seat? Concepion ain’t got no legs at this time, he’s in a wheelchair, but he’ll sock you out and you have to get in the front seat with him in the car, so y’all level. Did GloRilla Scam Atlanta Investor For Nearly Half-A-Million Dollars?

GloRilla may have some explaining to do after a man accused her of stiffing him for a six-figure sum—despite being under contract with him.

In a recent interview, an Atlanta man who was identified as millionaire investor Aristotle revealed that one of his most costly investments was a deal he allegedly did with GloRilla. In his initial statement, Aristotle claims he lost more than $400,000 after the “Yeah Glo” rapper allegedly ran off with the money, without fulfilling her end of the bargain.

“GloRilla, she stole some money from me,” Aristotle claimed. “I paid her some money, over six figures to do something for me and she didn’t complete the tasks. She’s still got two more tasks to complete.”

As Aristotle continued, he didn’t reveal the specifics of the tasks he enlisted GloRilla to do, but he did mention that he was currently working on solving the issue through due legal process.

“It’s on contract, and I’m still going to court about that,” he said. “It’s been a year, since March of last year.”

As he concluded, Aristotle suggested the only reason he’s in this position today is because he believes GloRilla’s celebrity eclipsed her obligation to him.

“She was big,” he recalled. “It’s just you know, celebrity cocky ‘I’m not gonna fulfill the contract’ s##t. You know how that s##t go.”

This isn’t the first time GloRilla has been accused of mishandling funds she was paid by and individual whilst under contract. In 2022, GloRilla released a statement on Facebook after a woman accused her of scamming her for $1,200 to promote her makeup line in a TikTok which went viral and gained the Create Music Group (CMG) signee’s attention.

In another statement she provided FOX13, GloRilla said that she’s aware that someone has been posing as a team member and unfortunately scamming her fans and supporters.

“I was made aware that an individual has been impersonating members of my team and deceiving people for money as part of a scam,” GloRilla said in part. “I’m looking into the issue, but I’d like to encourage all my fans and supporters to be very careful with how they communicate with online strangers.

“It’s important to do research and take the appropriate steps to prevent yourselves from being victimized by cybercriminals posing as celebrity teams.”

Sean “Diddy” Combs has found his career engulfed in turmoil, marred by a series of lawsuits and a video of him assaulting Cassie that have cast long shadows over his achievements. 

The latest unrest surrounds his star on The Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Calls to remove the star escalated significantly after the video surfaced. 

Despite the uproar, Diddy’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star remains untouched, and officials have confirmed that no action will be taken. 

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, the governing body for the Walk of Fame, clarified its position unequivocally: stars cannot be removed once they are placed.

In an explanation provided to TMZ, a Chamber spokesperson stated, “Our organization is responsible for the nomination and placement of stars, but we do not have the authority to remove them.”

The spokesperson added that no star has ever been removed from high-profile controversies, such as those involving Bill Cosby and Donald Trump.

Trump’s star, despite being vandalized repeatedly, still claims its spot on the Walk of Fame.

Diddy asserted his innocence, suggesting that the lawsuits are driven by financial motives.

However, the legal accusations paint a starkly different picture, with allegations spanning from the early 1990s to the 2000s.

The cascade of lawsuits against Diddy includes:

  • May 2024: April Lampros files a lawsuit alleging four instances of sexual assault between 1995 and 2001, involving rape, forced drug use, and secret recordings.
  • May 2024: Crystal McKinney files a lawsuit claiming she was forced into oral sex by Diddy in 2003 after a fashion event.
  • December 2023: An anonymous “Jane Doe” alleges gang rape by Diddy and his associates in 2003 when she was 17.
  • February 2024: Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones Jr. accuses Diddy of sexual assault, drugging, and forced sexual acts.
  • November 2023: Joi Dickerson-Neal files a lawsuit claiming Diddy drugged and sexually assaulted her in 1991.
  • Early 1990s: Liza Gardner alleges sexual assault by Diddy.
  • November 2023: Cassie Ventura files a lawsuit alleging rape, physical abuse, and sex trafficking over a decade; the lawsuit was settled a day later.

These lawsuits encompass severe allegations of rape, sexual assault, drugging, forced sexual acts, physical abuse, secret recordings, and sex trafficking, forming a troubling dossier against the once-celebrated Hip-Hop mogul.

Diddy issued an apology for assaulting Cassie, but the apology was widely criticized as too late and self-serving.

Mach-Hommy Talks Spotify Fiasco In Viral Video

Mach-Hommy criticizes Spotify for abruptly removing his album RICHAXXHAITIAN without warning, casting a shadow over what should have been a triumphant moment.

The artist took to X (formerly Twitter) in a 15-minute video to share his frustration, revealing that the album vanished unexpectedly overnight while he and his team analyzed its performance.

“I get up, get with my team. We get to the back end, we start looking at stuff. We realize oh s###, there’s no album. The album is gone. So the album is going on Spotify, right? Which is kind of Wow. So we reach out to Spotify,” Mach-Hommy explained.

The surreal episode continued when he confronted Spotify about the disappearance. He queried why neither he nor his team were alerted.

“When I asked him like, well, regardless of whether or not you thought it was me (who removed it) why were we not notified? Or at least someone from our team, while we were not notified that it had been taken off the platform? I mean, this is a new release. I just dropped this. And I’m saying this is a very, this is a very important release for us,” he said.

Adding to his digital woes, Mach-Hommy faced issues with his YouTube account around the same period.

He was locked out of making profile changes or posting new content. Both Spotify and YouTube stated they were investigating the disruptions, but details remain murky.

Initial suspicions indicated the removal might have stemmed from sample clearance problems, but the album has since been fully restored on Spotify.

Despite these challenges, RICHAXXHAITIAN rose to the top of the iTunes Hip-Hop charts.

Mach-Hommy credited this success to his fans’ unwavering support and urged them to stream the album on other platforms, such as Apple Music, until the situation with Spotify is resolved.

The album features collaborations with artists like Black Thought, Roc Marciano, KAYTRANADA, 03 Greedo and others.

Nicki Minaj Arrested In Amsterdam For Alleged Drug Possession

Nicki Minaj‘s overseas experience just went from bad to worse. According to a video posted to social media, the diamond-selling rapper was arrested in The Netherlands on suspicion of drug possession or, as she claimed “pre-rolls.” The clip, filmed by Minaj, shows her being confronted by police and demanding a lawyer.

The officers says to her, “Because you’re carrying drugs,” to which she says, “I’m not carrying drugs. I’m not carrying drugs. I am not going in there. I need a lawyer present. No, I need a lawyer present now.” The officer then tells her, “You have to go to the police station […] you are under arrest.”

She replies, surprised, “So I’m under arrest? Under arrest for what? I need a lawyer ’cause I don’t know where I’m going.”

The hashtag #FREENICKI is beginning to trend on Twitter (X) as her fans panic. But the signs were there that trouble was heading her way. Just hours ago, Nicki Minaj was subjected to a luggage search after police allegedly found something suspicious in her purse. According to a video posted by the rapper herself, she was confronted outside by airport authorities, who explained why they needed a second look at her belongings.

“Police officers told me we have to offload all the luggage and to search everything in your luggage,” a man told Minaj as she filmed him. “I am so sorry to do that. They did a random quick check, but now they want to open these things.” He explained the original check was cut short because Minaj was also filming him.

Minaj, who evidently remains convinced someone is trying to sabotage her Pink Friday 2 World Tour, wrote in the caption, “They’ve been trying to stop me from coming to every show. They took my bags before I could see them. Put it on the plane. Now saying they’re waiting on customs. This is what it looks like when ppl are paid big money to try to sabotage a tour after all else failed. Everything they’ve done is illegal.”

Nicki Minaj has been suspicious of people trying to sabotage her tour for weeks now. In April, moments before she was due to hit the stage, Minaj took to social media to complain about an alleged conspiracy to prevent her from performing in Montreal.

“Yesterday my flight scheduled for midnight shut their plane down @ 12:58pm,” she wrote in an Instagram post. “Never in 15 years have I heard of anything like that. A 70K G4 and thought we were going to PAY THEM for that flight as well as whatever flight I’d have to get on next. They thought wrong.”

Minaj explained that her team asked if they could depart at 1 p.m. but was told 3 p.m., which was then further delayed to 5 p.m.

“For a 930pm show in Canada. When we got to the plane, they then said they were “STILL FUELING”. At 630pm, they said they were ‘still fueling’ (for an hour & a half flight),” she added.

Nicki Minaj claimed she was given a more intensive search than usual upon arrival in Canada despite time running out ahead of her tour stop. Minaj did, however, make it on time.

Minaj is expected to arrive in Manchester, England on Saturday night (May 25) for a show at Co-Op Live. The Grammy-nominated artist announced a second leg of U.S. dates for her Pink Friday 2 World Tour on Friday (May 24) based on the success of her first U.S. leg.

Sean Kingston Saga: No Bail For Singer But Mom Gets Bond With Conditions

Sean Kingston remains incarcerated without bail after appearing in court on allegations of fraud and theft linked to a lawsuit.

Kingston, known for his hit “Beautiful Girls,” was apprehended in Fort Irwin, California for purportedly deceiving a Florida-based company out of a $150,000 home entertainment system.

Janice Turner, Kingston’s mother, was also detained in a SWAT operation at her son’s rented Fort Lauderdale mansion with similar accusations.

On Friday (May 24), the judge held.Kingston without bail so he could be extradited to Florida. His mother had her bond at $160,000 amidst eight fraud and theft charges. Turner must prove the source of her funds to make sure they are not from illegal sources.

Prosecutors emphasized Turner’s prior 16-month federal prison stint for bank fraud in 2005, while her attorney contended that she poses no community threat and has a non-violent record.

The case originates from a lawsuit initiated by Ver Ver Entertainment.

The company alleges Kingston promised to secure Justin Bieber for their commercials in exchange for a partial payment and credit toward the costly entertainment setup but only paid $30,000, leaving his promises unfulfilled.

Authorities tracked Kingston to his rented residence in Southwest Ranches, Florida, culminating in his arrest in California.

“This evening, police in Fort Irwin, Calif., arrested Kisean Anderson, aka Sean Kingston, without incident on a Broward Sheriff’s Office arrest warrant for numerous fraud and theft charges,” stated the Broward Sheriff’s Office in a release. “He will be booked into jail in San Bernardino, Calif.”

Kingston addressed the situation on social media, stating, “People love negative energy! I am good and so is my mother! My lawyers are handling everything as we speak.”

Ver Ver Entertainment’s lawsuit accused Kingston of failing to keep up with payments on high-value home items.

“He likes having bling, he likes showing off, he’s a showman,” remarked the company’s attorney, Dennis Card, to NBC 6 South Florida. He noted the $150,000 television sound system, among other luxury items, in Kingston’s home.

Card told Local 10 News, “We know that our property is inside this house right here, so as soon as the raid takes place, we are going to have a crew of people in there to reassemble it and take it back to its rightful owner.”

It seems the consensus of the general public has Kendrick Lamar as the winner of his highly-publicized battle with Drake. According to NLE Choppa, the “Poetic Justice” collaborators should reunite following their epic feud for a real victory.

Kendrick Lamar and Drake dropped multiple diss tracks aimed at each other over three months. Lamar’s “Not Like Us” is widely considered the knockout blow. Billboard spoke to NLE Choppa about the rivalry between the two Hip-Hop superstars.

“I feel like the win is more so not about who got the most streams or what song is the best. I think the win is more so how you handle the success you got from all that controversy,” NLE Choppa said.

He also stated, “I think the win would be something like both of them coming together and doing a song together. I think that’s one of the most beautiful wins. Because from the outside looking in, this probably ain’t really no real, real problems.”

NLE Choppa has gotten combative with other recording artists too. The Cottonwood 2 album creator infamously clashed with “Thotiana” rapper Blueface. Their conflict included Choppa’s mother, Angela Potts, getting involved.

“If I go back and forth on a beat, I’m just knowing, in my mind, I’m not taking it [seriously]. Now, if he takes it [seriously], that’s one thing. But I’m so one with self to where I know I can be like, ‘Alright, I’m done feeding into this,'” Choppa told Billboard about his beef with Blueface.

Nicki Minaj Adds Several Dates To Her History-Making Pink Friday 2 World Tour

Nicki Minaj announced a second leg of U.S. dates for her Pink Friday 2 World Tour on Friday (May 24). The diamond-selling rapper attributed the tour’s expansion to the success of its first leg.

Minaj did not reveal the venues and exact dates for her additional concerts, but her website lists the cities where she will perform later this year. The second leg includes Cleveland, Dallas, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia and San Francisco, among others.

The Nicki Minaj Presents: Pink Friday 2 World Tour is already the highest-grossing tour for a female rapper. It reportedly grossed $67 million and sold 439,000 tickets.

Nicki Minaj’s tour began in Oakland on March 1. The first run of North American shows concluded in Oklahoma City on May 13.

The European leg of the tour kicked off in Amsterdam on Thursday (May 23). Minaj will perform in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Sweden and more during her overseas shows, which end in Belgium on July 14.

Travis Scott Avoids Trial For Astroworld Tragedy’s Last Wrongful Death Lawsuit

The family of Ezra Blount settled its wrongful death lawsuit against Travis Scott, Live Nation and others. Blount was one of the 10 people killed in the Astroworld tragedy.

Scott West, the lawyer representing Blount’s family, announced the settlement on Thursday (May 23). Blount’s family was the last plaintiff to settle their wrongful death lawsuit out of court. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“The family will continue its journey to heal but never forget the joy that Ezra brought to everyone around him,” West said, per the Associated Press.

Blount was the youngest victim who died from injuries suffered at the 2021 Astroworld Festival. The 9-year-old boy was sitting on his father’s shoulders when they got caught up in the deadly crowd crush at the event. Blount fell off his dad’s shoulders. His father, Treston Blount, lost consciousness in the chaotic crowd surge.

The child was missing when his dad awoke. Blount’s family eventually found him at a nearby hospital. He was listed as a John Doe.

Blount was put into a medically induced coma due to his injuries. He died a few days later.

Jury selection for the Blount family’s wrongful death case was scheduled to begin on September 10. Scott, Live Nation and their co-defendants failed to convince a judge to dismiss the lawsuit.

Scott and Live Nation still face roughly 2,400 injury lawsuits related to the Astroworld tragedy. Seven cases will head to trial on October 15 unless settlements are reached.

A grand jury declined to indict Scott and five other people on criminal charges in connection to the deadly event. Scott’s attorney Kent Schaffer said the decision confirmed “what we have known all along — Travis Scott is not responsible for the Astroworld tragedy.” Prosecutors considered three charges: manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide and endangering a child.

Travis Scott Brawls With Tyga’s Crew – Including Cher’s Boyfriend

Travis Scott was involved in an altercation with Cher’s boyfriend and Tyga’s friend Alexander “AE” Edwards in France on Friday (May 24). Footage showed Scott and producer Southside fighting Edwards at Richie Akiva’s Cannes Film Festival afterparty.

According to Page Six and TMZ, Scott was upset after Akiva shouted out Tyga and Edwards at the event. Tyga is the ex-boyfriend of Kylie Jenner, the mother of Travis Scott’s children. Scott allegedly snatched the mic from Akiva, leading to a confrontation with Edwards.

“Travis was the aggressor,” a source told Page Six. “He and his team were being neurotic, erratic and crazy. He was there looking for a fight with anyone to be honest.”

Scott allegedly threatened Tyga’s security and returned with Southside, leading to the chaos seen on video. Edwards and Southside started brawling as Scott attempted to intervene. Edwards and Scott got tied up and stumbled across the stage in the scuffle.

A witness claimed Edwards “and Tyga’s assistant began to beat up Travis,” per Page Six. Security was eventually able to restore some order. Tyga reportedly avoided the brawl by staying off to the side of the DJ booth.

Tyga, Edwards and their entourage stayed at the party. Scott and Southside left the event. No one was seriously injured in the clash.

Drake Pays Millions Of Dollars For Massive Ranch In Texas

Drake set up shop in Texas by buying a 313-acre ranch in Brenham. According to multiple reports, Drake paid $15 million for The Inn at Dos Brisas in October 2023.

Brenham is roughly 75 miles away from Houston. Drake previously indicated he was moving to the Space City at a concert in 2023.

“I had to make it official first, but I’ve been looking for a long time, trying to figure out the right place for me to live, where I belong outside of Toronto,” he said at the Toyota Center. “And I finally, finally after all these years, I found me a place in Houston, Texas. So y’all will be seeing me around.”

Drake’s ranch was originally built as a family retreat in 2000. It was converted into a resort in 2024. The ranch’s previous owners shuttered the property in 2022.

“Dos Brisas is a rare legacy ranch property that offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the right buyer, which we were able to find once we listed it bringing the price in line with the market conditions at the time,” its listing agent Tonya Currie told CultureMap Dallas.

Reports of Drake’s purchase emerged as his contentious battle against Kendrick Lamar settled down. Drake even embraced Metro Boomin’s “BBL Drizzy” diss/meme by rapping over the sample on Sexyy Red’s new song “U My Everything.”

“Why you love me? Still a mystery/Me and the surgeon got history/I changed a lot of girls’ lives for real/They need a new body, they hitting me, ayy/BBL Drizzy, they want a new body, they ask me for it/The last one, Jung, he did it for free ’cause I sent over so many past ones for him/But Red, don’t even worry about all of that s###/Just keep it natural for ’em, I swear,” Drake rapped.
