Logic inked a deal with BMG after finishing up his run at Def Jam Recordings.
The 32-year-old rapper referenced signing with BMG on “Sayonara,” the last song on his Vinyl Days LP. The album, which dropped in June, was Logic’s final release for Def Jam.
“There’s a lot of b####### in the music industry,” Logic said in a press statement. “I’m just glad to move on to a place where I can be independent, and respected as an artist, and feel like I’m in control of my career.”
Logic’s BMG deal will allow him to own his sound recordings. He secured the artist-friendly partnership after voicing issues with his situation at Def Jam.
“Our new partnership is an incredible opportunity to begin the next chapter of Logic’s career and further expand his brand,” BMG’s Dan Gill said. “Everyone at BMG is well-positioned and prepared to amplify his creative vision and elevate his music to the next level.”
BMG’s Tim Reid added, “As an artist, creator, and entrepreneur, Logic is the perfect fit for BMG and we are excited to join forces. He has a unique authenticity that has consistently enabled him to remain among the best in the business.”

Today, Z-Gang returns with his newest album titled In Tha Vision.
AllHipHop: Why is the project called ‘In Tha Vision’?
Z-Gang: I named my album “In Tha Vision” because I am “Tha Vision” and I can see further than life, when I have a vision of what I want and where I see myself in the future whether its big or small, I make it happen. There is no stopping me, there is no giving up, and I live by those words so I prepare myself for what I know is to come. SUCCESS

Nothing in life is easy but hard work and dedication could take you to the stars. So show love to a real one. Z-GANG

R. Kelly’s lawyer Jennifer Bonjean says her client was placed on suicide watch after being sentenced to 30 years in prison.
A New York judge sentenced R. Kelly to decades behind bars for racketeering and sex trafficking charges on Wednesday (June 29). The disgraced singer is in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
“Mr. Kelly was placed on suicide watch for purely punitive reasons in violation of his Eighth Amendment rights,” Bonjean told the New York Post. “MDC has a policy of placing high profile individuals under the harsh conditions of suicide watch whether they are suicidal or not (this was done recently with Ghislaine Maxwell).”
R. Kelly has filed a lawsuit against MDC Brooklyn. He contends being put on suicide watch is “cruel and unusual punishment.”
Bonjean insists R. Kelly isn’t suicidal. She claims her client feared the possibility of ending up on suicide watch.
“The irony of putting someone on suicide watch when they’re not suicidal is it actually causes more harm,” she told CNN.
Bonjean added, “It’s punishment for being high-profile. And it’s horrifying frankly. To put someone under suicide watch under those conditions is cruel and unusual when they don’t need it.”
R. Kelly’s attorney plans to appeal his conviction. But he’s also awaiting trial on charges of child pornography and luring minors into sex acts charges. His second federal trial is scheduled to begin in Chicago on August 15.

I am not going to stop! This is getting out of hand. Actually, we are well past out of hand. This is out of pocket, out of mind and out of control. A bunch of educators in Texas now have proposed formally to the Texas State Board of Education that the Western institution of slavery should now be taught as “involuntary relocation“ in second grade social studies programs.
Nine people, I state again nine people, have gotten together to propose this curriculum change. This is in an effort to lessen the “discomfort” that exists inside of Texas classrooms around the topic of one of the most heinous human rights violations in the history of humankind. By the way, one of these “brilliant” educators is a professor at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. An actual college professor!
This is unbelievable that they would even begin to suggest that this is something to actually do. They say bad things about what they “critical race theory,” but this is egregious at best. For some reason, they are connecting this to “voluntary Irish migration” and coinciding the new lingo to “involuntary relocation” for Black people from Africa.
So, this is a part of a larger situation. They are trying to develop a new curriculum for social studies across all of Texas, including almost 9000 public schools. This has been a hot button for quite some time. They are trying to figure out how to teach race and slavery in schools. These extreme conservative people are dumping a lot of money on school boards in hopes of getting the curriculums changed. I have an IDEA – TELL THE TRUTH.
I think they’re full of crap! Slavery is a 400+ year institution they want to erase. It is bad enough that they have glazed over the horrors. They keep trying to remove history from our collective minds! However, we aren’t having it. This is why we have to listen to our elders, read and buy books, and continue to write history. They have no problem presenting their version of facts, which are just lies distorted since the beginning of time. Even in art, they have altered the reality that existed in those times. Remember, it was a concerted effort for Jesus to look white with blue eyes!

Oh, Isobella. You have me confused. First of all, I looked at you and thought you were Shaggy. But you weren’t. You were missing and possibly in jeopardy. Now that you are fine, let’s take a trip back down memory lane.
Isobella Degrace is a 27-year old woman that was missing. Her mugshot hit the internet and folks like myself were immediately confused. This woman has a full-blown beard, but they keep saying its a woman. This made me more interested in the story.
“She is described as 5’10″, with a thin build, shaggy blonde hair, and a full goatee. She was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and grey pants.”
This was essentially a wellness check that resulted in a viral moment and, for me, a sign the world is coming to an end. This m### was “just” a missing person, but because it was a woman that looked like a hippie, nomadic man, it became international news.
Homegirl was found a mere nine hours after being reported missing. This means she was never truly missing! But she had a goatee! People became extra concerned and inquisitive about this one chick with a beard. There are hundreds (maybe 10s) of thousands of missing Black woman and girls. But they do not have goatees (most of them).
Guys, I wish there was more to this, but there ain’t. Some have politicized this, but there’s not much else to say.

Queens rapper 50 Cent, a world-class internet troll famous for kicking a dog when he is down, has tied up his Timberlands and is getting busy on a producer/ director Randall Emmett after news broke about his shady character and work ethic.
Randall Emmett, the former fiancé of Lala Kent from the Bravo reality television star from “Vanderpump Rules,” is making headlines after a Los Angeles Times investigation accused him of verbal and physical abuse, sexual harassment, and deceptive business dealings.
The report states that Randall Emmett allegedly pushed Bruce Willis, a top-notch actor suffering from personal health issues, to work on five action films even though he is sick.
Just as sickening is the fact that Randall Emmett allegedly pushed women into doing sexual favors for him and made some women sign non-disclosure agreements about their engagement with him.
He also allegedly told one female accuser he would pay $200,000 to keep quiet.
The LA Times also said he owes a gang of creditors about $25 million.
50 Cent, who had beef with Randall Emmett in the past, wrote on Instagram, “See this is why i made him give me my Money by Monday, then after he had to stay a 100 feet away from me.”
Back then, the G-Unit general, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, wrote in screen grabs of text messages between the two he posted to the public, “Keep playing with me and get ya f###### head cracked in front of everybody.”
“You took my kindness for weakness,” he continued. “Now I’m [going to] show you what [I’ve] been [trying] not to do to you dumb m###########.”
He told Emmett he had until Monday, April 29th, 2019, to pay him back and mocked him with means saying, “Money Monday right around the corner. I’m going to bed early.
50 Cent and Randall Emmett are former business partners. Emmett helped co-found the rapper’s Cheetah Visionfilm company.

One of the founding members of Boyz II Men, the supergroup from Philly that broke every record possible with solid harmonies and crossover appeal, said that R&B music has lost its soulful edge and is trying too hard to be like rap artists.
In a series of tweets, Shawn Stockman addressed the latest R&B conversation prompted by the not-so-stellar performances during the Mario and Omarion Verzuz (starring Ray J, Sammie, Bobby V, and Pleasure P) and the recent BET Awards.
The issue, in his opinion, is blended. It is a combination of the industry demand for the “thug image” and a lot of artists not investing in their vocal performances (or not having very strong ones).
He tweeted on Wednesday afternoon, “There was a time when it was kool to identify as an R&B singer. It was kool that there was a clear distinction between a rapper and a singer, persona-wise. And it was respected. It wasn’t viewed as being ‘soft’ to be smooth and to speak to ladies a certain way.”
There was a time when it was kool to identify as an R&B singer. It was kool that there was a clear distinction between a rapper and a singer, persona wise. And it was respected. It wasn’t viewed as being “soft” to be smooth and to speak to ladies a certain way.
“R&B has lost their identity because it felt like it had to compete with the bravado of the hip hop world,” he continued. “Because labels stopped supporting the perception of Black men being more than displaying a ‘thug image.’”
R&B has lost their identity because it felt like it had to compete with the bravado of the hip hop world. Because labels stopped supporting the perception of Black men being more than displaying a “thug image”.
The first two tweets challenged the aura of the new movement of R&B, but the last of the set zeroed in on new artists’ singing prowess.
He tweeted, “Let me disclaim, my tweets are not to say there aren’t any great singers out there. There always have been great singers, but the love they get is disproportionate. So let’s do this: send me some artists y’all think are and I’ll repost! I’ll go first.”

He then retweeted Manana, writing, “This dude I think is dope!”
The Philly native called the new artist “innovative, soulful and vibey.” And encouraged his 56K followers to “Check him out!”
Adding, “If y’all really about support, then I should see a bunch of retweets. Let’s start getting proactive!”

For hours fans flooded his timeline with singers who are holding up the banner for the genre like Devon Culture, SiR, Leon Bridges and Pretty Rico Bandz. Many of the names are unknown to the average playlist or radio listener.
The spirit of Emmett Till, the 14-year-old Black boy whose abduction and death was a pivotal point in the Civil Rights movement, may finally see justice.
An active warrant from 1955, the year he was lynched, has been discovered.
According to reports, Till’s family is asking for law enforcement to arrest Carolyn Bryant Donham, enforcing a 67-year-old warrant for her detainment for her participation in the murder of the young Chicago native. The woman is almost 90.
The relatives found the document in a Mississippi courthouse basement while looking for more information about Till’s case.
They discovered that the police suspected Donham, then 21 years old, had identified Till to her husband Roy Bryant and his half-brother John William Milam.
Bryant and Milam then snatched him out of bed while he was staying at his great uncle’s house.
Those men believed Emmett Till had whistled at Donham while she was working at the register of her family’s store in Money, Mississippi, in August 1955.
The men beat the boy so severely that he was barely recognizable by his family members during his open-casket funeral, which his mother insisted on having to show the brutality of the crime.
Bryant and Milam stood trial for Emmett Till’s murder, but an all-white jury acquitted them.
The newly discovered arrest warrant for Donham revealed she was wanted for kidnapping, but the warrant was never executed.
At the time, the Leflore County sheriff told reporters he wouldn’t bring her in because she was a mother of two young children, and they didn’t want to “bother” her.
Teri Watts, the daughter of Till’s cousin Deborah Watts, said they should “Serve it and charge her. This is what the state of Mississippi needs to go ahead [and do].”

DDG has a few words for anyone that found joy in his recent legal issues. On June 6, Los Angeles area police arrested the Michigan-raised rapper born Darryl Granberry for felony possession of a concealed weapon.
However, prosecutors reportedly rejected the case and decided not to pursue charges against DDG. The 2021 XXL Freshman Class member took to social media to share the news with his followers and take aim at his haters.
“My case has been dismissed, or rejected,” stated DDG on Instagram. “I don’t got a felony, and I don’t got a misdemeanor. Shout out Dimitri. 1-0 in the ring and 1-0 in the courtroom. That’s just how it goes. So for all you n##### that were online, on Twitter tweeting, ‘Yes, he’s locked up.’ – suck my balls.”
DJ Akademiks reposted DDG’s video to his own Instagram account. The longtime YouTuber then jumped into Ak’s comments section to mention controversial internet personality Charleston White.
“My lawyer’s name is Charleston White if anybody wanna book him. He gon get [you] off immediately🔥,” wrote DDG. That post garnered nearly 3,000 likes and over 150 replies.
Previously, DDG seemingly reacted to news of his arrest making headlines. On June 8, the “Moonwalking in Calabasas” performer tweeted, “The devil working overtime to stop these blessings.”
With those particular legal matters behind him, DDG can focus on his upcoming mini-tour. The Epic Records signee will hit Chicago, Atlanta, and New York City later this month.
DDG made an appearance at this year’s BET Awards on June 26 in Los Angeles. He attended the ceremony with singer/actress Halle Bailey of the Chloe x Halle duo. The celebrity couple walked the event’s red carpet together.
While the single arrived on DSPs today (July 1), Cardi was not able to release the song’s music video at the same time. In a new interview with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe on New Music Daily, the Bronx native explained the delay for the visuals.
“This video, oh my goodness. I don’t want to talk about the video because this video has brought me so much drama. Not with the artists though,” Cardi B told Zane Lowe. “So this is the first time I’ve ever done CGI. I’m very particular on how I like my things. And I really like when things look super realistic. I like building sets, or I like to be in a place. If I want to do a video in a supermarket, I’m going to do the video in the supermarket.”
She continued, “I don’t really do CGI. So this is my first time trying CGI. It was something very different for me. I couldn’t maneuver or move how I wanted to, because I was very confused. After I finished the video, I find out that this s### takes so long. I did this video around March, and it’s still not even ready yet.”
Previously, Cardi B presented the visuals for her singles “WAP” and “UP” on the same day the song came out. Apparently, she decided it was not worth waiting until the “Hot S###” video was completely ready before dropping the track.
“It’s just so frustrating that I’m like, ‘You know what? Just put the f###### song out. I don’t even give a f### anymore. I’m over it.’ It’s an amazing video, but it’s just really f######… I would never do CGI again, ever, ever, ever again,” declared Cardi.
Both “WAP” featuring Megan Thee Stallion and “Up” hit #1 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. Cardi B currently holds the record for most Number Ones by a female rapper (5). She is also the female rap record holder for most Diamond-certified (10 million units) singles with three.
New York City-based recording artist Fivio Foreign linked up with Queen Naija and Coi Leray for “What’s My Name” from the B.I.B.L.E. album. The track uses an interpolation of “Say My Name” by Destiny’s Child.
This week saw the arrival of Fivio Foreign’s “What’s My Name” music video. Both Queen Naija and Coi Leray show up in the Benny Boom-directed clip that pays homage to some of Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams’s classic videos.
The “What’s My Name” video references Destiny’s Child hits like “Say My Name,”“Survivor,” and “Soldier.” As of press time, Fivio Foreign’s latest visuals are trending in the Top 20 of YouTube’s music section.
All three Destiny’s Child singles alluded to in the “What’s My Name” video were huge hits for the girl group. The iconic trio scored Top 10 entries on the Hot 100 chart with “Soldier” (#3), “Survivor” (#2), and “Say My Name” (#1).
Fivio Foreign dropped B.I.B.L.E. back in April. The project debuted at #9 on the Billboard 200 chart, earning 29,000 first-week units. B.I.B.L.E. is Foreign’s first Top 10 album. It peaked at #5 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums rankings.
In addition to Queen Naija and Coi Leray, B.I.B.L.E. also features Quavo, Chloë, A$AP Rocky, Lil Tjay, Polo G, DJ Khaled, Ne-Yo, and more acts. Music legends Kanye West and Alicia Keys also collaborated with Fivio Foreign for the Drill track “City of Gods.”
Nah the support and responses I’m gettin from this Album tho 😩🔥 Make a n#### wanna buss a gangsta tear. I’m not tho lol.. But B.I.B.L.E Out everywhere go tune in now ❗️ https://t.co/boI3zaAQJfpic.twitter.com/6Dyae5OPFV

Tevin Campbell was just a teenager when he was making the timeless R&B hits that still resonate around the world to this day. Like many child stars thrust into the public eye at an early age, he had to grow up while adjusting to the trappings of fame, and it wasn’t always easy as he revealed during a recent interview.
The “I’m Ready” singer took a walk down memory lane during a recent episode of the State of Black Music Podcast. He shared some of the tales from his early career, including an encounter with Wyclef that he said now is “actually pretty funny.”
“When I was a kid, dude. I can tell you the story of when I had too much to drink and I was working with Wyclef,” Tevin Campbel recalled. “This is actually pretty funny… I had a session with Wyclef. Great session, we did some great songs. And so, before the session, I went into the lobby at the bar and had eight cosmopolitans. Eight. In the span of probably two hours, three hours. So, I was sh*t-faced.”
After drinking in the bar, he then headed to the studio to get some work done. Wyclef played a few tracks, “and every song he played for me I was like, ‘Oh, that sucks. That’s horrible, play the next one.”
Tevin Campbell Recalls “Acting Like A Brat”
Tevin Campbell then revealed things got so bad that Clef had to call his mom.
He continued, “I was cursing, too! I was being very, like a brat and just horrible. I was like, ‘This s### sucks. What the f### is this, play the next one… And so, then he called my mom ’cause he couldn’t take it anymore. I was drunk! Acting a fool, acting like a brat.”
However, even though Wyclef had his mother on the line, Tevin Campbell continued to act up and the session was canceled. He believes Clef “still holds that against me ’til this day… maybe not.” Check out the episode below.
