Calboy Promotes OKC Appearance While Wanted By Police

Calvin “Calboy” Woods, 23, has been in the news a lot lately, mostly because of his comments directed at his former manager Meek Mill. However, the Illinois native is now back in the news for an alleged crime in Georgia.

According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Calboy is under investigation for aggravated battery charges. Gwinnett County police are searching for the “Envy Me” rapper.

A victim apparently accused Calboy of attacking him at Rabbit Hill Park on May 4. The unnamed individual supposedly suffered a broken leg, facial lacerations, bruises, and other injuries.

Two days after the alleged incident took place, Calboy tweeted, “I’m not into it [with] nobody, [I’m not] beefing wit nobody. I’m getting money, real money.” He also recently retweeted Fredo Bang’s Twitter post about depression.

Police believe Calboy was last seen in Dacula, Georgia. The exurb of Atlanta located in Gwinnett County only has about 7,000 residents and makes up around 5 square miles.

While authorities are hoping someone provides information about Calboy to the Crime Stoppers hotline/website, the Long Live the Kings EP creator is still promoting upcoming appearances in other cities.

Yesterday, Calboy shared a flyer for the “Fastcash Celebrity Basketball Game” in Oklahoma City. Organizers for the event booked Cal to attend alongside Yella Beezy, Kirko Bangz, and more. OKC rapper Pwap originally uploaded the Instagram Story post.

Post Malone Calls ‘Twelve Carat Toothache’ His Most Honest Album

Next month, Post Malone will return with his latest body of work. Twelve Carat Toothache drops on June 3, through Mercury Records and Republic Records.

Post Malone released the new single “Cooped Up” featuring Roddy Ricch on Thursday. Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe spoke to Malone about the Louis Bell-produced track.

“I’ve been out of my bag for a long time, and I’m trying to hop back in there. We knew what we wanted to say, and we knew what we wanted to express, not only in a song but in that particular moment on the album,” explained Post Malone.

The 26-year-old, multi-genre performer continued, “And yeah, it just came super naturally. I couldn’t even tell you. I was probably on the s###### when I wrote it.”

Post Malone also talked about his upcoming studio LP. Zane Lowe asked Posty about the possible “triumphs” and “trials” that took place between 2019’s Hollywood’s Bleeding and 2022’s Twelve Carat Toothache.

“Speaking on that, that’s kinda what the whole record is about. It’s the bipolar aspect and the duality of everything. And so, there’s a lot of things very much so on this record that are tongue in cheek,” said Post Malone.

The 9-time Grammy nominee added, “I think this whole record is the most honest record I’ve made, and I’m so pumped for people to hear it. Every song in there tells a story.” Twelve Carat Toothache will join an album catalog that also includes 2016’s Stoney and 2018’s Beerbongs & Bentleys.

Kendrick Lamar Raps About Kanye West & Drake Ending Their Beef

Unsurprisingly, Kendrick Lamar is the main topic of conversation in Hip Hop circles this morning. The pgLang co-founder released his latest studio LP, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, at 12 am ET.

Listeners quickly began going through the two-disc project to examine the Compton emcee’s lyrics. Particular lines from “Father Time” featuring Sampha caught a lot of people’s attention.

“When Kanye got back with Drake, I was slightly confused. Guess I’m not mature as I think, got some healing to do,” rapped Kendrick Lamar on the Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers track.

Lamar’s bars referred to the fact that longtime frenemies Kanye “Ye” West and Drake settled their differences last year. The “Forever” collaborators reunited for the highly-publicized “Free Larry Hoover Concert” in December.

There have also been reports of friction between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. Back in 2013, Lamar rocked the Hip Hop landscape with his verse on Big Sean’s “Control” single which featured the TDE star calling out his peers, including Drake.

Rap fans speculated that Drake and Kendrick Lamar sent possible subliminal disses at each other for years. Prior to “Control,” Drizzy and K. Dot appeared together on songs such as Lamar’s “Poetic Justice” and A$AP Rocky’s “F#####’ Problems” along with 2 Chainz.

Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers arrived on Friday, May 13 via Aftermath Entertainment/Interscope Records. According to reports, this will be Kendrick Lamar’s last studio album released as a Top Dawg Entertainment act. He and Dave Free launched the pgLang company in 2020.

Meek Mill Suggests Shrooms Can “Heal The Hood”

Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill typically enjoys sharing his thoughts on social media. This week, the 35-year-old Dream Chasers leader seemed to focus on psychedelic mushrooms.

“Strooms could heal the hood I believe!” tweeted Meek Mill on Thursday afternoon. More than 5,000 Twitter accounts liked his post. It garnered over 1,000 retweets.

While Meek wrote “strooms” in his tweet, most of his followers assumed the Expensive Pain album creator meant to write “shrooms.” According to Urban Dictionary contributors, the word “stroom” is an abbreviation for a restroom.

Meek Mill’s apparent mention of what is commonly called magic mushrooms led to an online debate. Some people agreed that shrooms can be beneficial. Other people took issue with Meek promoting a controlled substance.

“Shrooms def would. That’s why they don’t want that to be known,” tweeted one person in reply to Meek Mill’s original tweet about healing the hood. In contrast, one quote-tweet read, “Drugs don’t heal pain, they suppress.”

Another individual agreed with Meek Mill, “Psilocybin and other Psychedelics absolutely have a place of healing in the Black community. There’s tons of research being put forth to decolonize our healing and bring awareness to the work. There are also Black & indigenous Therapists who are certified to walk with you.”

One critic of the shrooms idea posted, “Drug use going to heal the hood? C’mon Meek you better than that.” Someone else responded, “Drugs that make people more friendly and more empathetic like shrooms and MDMA are good for some people.”

D-Block Europe Deliver “Black Beetles” Visuals

D-Block Europe dropped off some fresh new visuals for “Black Beetles,” their new single.

The song follows Young Adz and Dirtbike LB’s Home Alone 2 in November. The William Tomas-directed video sees the pair play on their “Kitchen Kings” title from their 2019 hit song of the same name. Check it out below.

Young Adz and Dirtbike LB are at the forefront of the D-Block Europe collective and have amassed over a billion streams. They also have accumulated five UK Top 10 albums and have won and been nominated for numerous music awards in the U.K.

Last month (Apr. 30), Yxng Bane hinted at a follow-up to his collaborative effort with D-Block Europe, Any Minute Now. The project marked the group’s first official mixtape. It was released in 2018, and charted at No. 14 on the U.K. Albums Chart.

Yxng Bane took to his Instagram Stories to share a conversation with Young Adz, teasing another D-Block Europe joint project. “10 session, 10 Days,” wrote the East London artist at the top of the post. The pair said they could complete the tape in 10 sessions over 10 days once they decide on a city and complete observance of Ramadan. “U ready to rock,” asked Young Adz. “We can start in May after Ramadan.”

D-Block Europe is yet to reveal the release date, but it could be imminent now that Ramadan is complete.

India. Arie Slams Jack Harlow, Says If You Don’t Know Brandy’s Music “WHO EVEN ARE YOU?”

India. Arie blasted Jack Harlow after his recent admission he had no idea that Brandy and Ray J are siblings.

Jack Harlow participated in the “White Ish Wednesday” segment during a recent appearance on The Breakfast Club when he made the faux pas. The hosts tested his musical knowledge, and he struggled when they began to play “Angel in Disguise” by Brandy. They eventually dropped the hint that the singer’s brother had a sex tape that made people famous. “Who’s Ray J’s sister?” Harlow asked. The shocked hosts revealed the singer, and an unbelieving Jack asked, “Brandy and Ray J are siblings. Nobody’s ever told me that in my life,” he said. Check out the video below.

As the video began to circulate on social media, Hip-Hop and R&B fans shared their thoughts online. Many felt frustrated that Jack Harlow, as a white man in Hip-Hop, lacks a basic foundation in Black music and is unaware of some of the culture’s most influential artists. Some came to his defense and suggested his age, 24, as the reason he didn’t recognize the song.

India. Arie Reacts

However, India. Arie took to her Instagram stories to share her outrage that a musician that “makes black music,” could be unaware of someone as impactful as Brandy.

“Just because you make black music doesn’t mean you know black culture,” she began. “If U don’t know Brandy’s voice when you hear it …. WHO EVEN ARE YOU?”

She continued, frustrated that Jack Harlow would reduce Brandy to merely “Ray J’s sister.”

“When an Actual MUSICIAN! WHO MAKES BLACK MUSIC! Deduces one of the industry’s MOST IMPORTANT VOICES @brandy To Ray J’s SISTER? Who is famous (mostly) for his proximity to Kim Kardashians.”

“And,” she added, “And WE HEAR @brandy Influence Eh-VER-REE-WHERE,” she said with extra emphasis.

“PLENTY of Non black singers. (Ask them),” she offered. “Even MALE singers. Gospel singers. AND PEOPLE KNOW RAY J BETTER? The s###’s STUPID. STUPID. STUID. STUPID!”

Tory Lanez Drops Surprise New Song “Shot Clock Violations”

Tory Lanez continues his Fargo Friday series with a fresh new track titled “Shot Clock Violations,” following last week’s freestyle over BIA & J. Cole’s “London.”

“Where did all my exes go ?” Tory wrote, teasing the first line of the song on Instagram. “Texting X and O Guess the call dropped far as our connection goes – Fargo 🧨🧨” Listen to “Shot Clock Violations” below.

A post shared by FARGO’S CRAZY LIFE (@torylanez)

Earlier this week, Tory Lanez sought out the opinion of his fans as to where he should go next musically.

“SHOULD I DROP A CAPSULE / ALBUM ??? …. OR SHOULD I JJST KEEP DROPPING FARGO FRIDAYS ??” he asked his fans?

While 15 percent of his followers voted for Fargo Friday and 16 percent for a capsule project, fans overwhelmingly voted for a new Tory Lanez album.

After dropping a series of freestyles Tory Lanez also announced that he has an official radio single coming this month.

“I’m going to release my actual single this month,” he tweeted on Monday. “Like the one for radio and all that s### 😈🥷🧨🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥.”

Tory Lanez dropped his sixth studio album, Alone at Prom in December 2021 through his independent label One Umbrella Records. The project featured the official singles “Lady of Namek,” “’87 Stingray,” and “Enchanted Waterfall.”

The Toronto rapper fell foul of the law earlier this month while flying out of Las Vegas airport. TMZ reported that Tory Lanez was stopped by authorities while attempting to board a flight. He was detained after a “large” amount of cannabis was found in his bag. TSA eventually released the rapper, and he was able to continue the next stop on his schedule.

Social Media Goes Bonkers Over Kendrick Album!

Kendrick Lamar’s new album is here and these digital streets are going OFF. Its not like this wasn’t going to be an instant classic or nothing. This was a classic before it dropped. Now that I have heard it, it really is classic. I think its a great body of work!

The internet is such a funny place, I had to share some of what people were saying. (Also, you can listen to the album below.)

Casanova Is On Suicide Watch

I am not sure what I feel for Casanova 2x. This dude had so much potential. He was THERE. He had a great rap style and he put it down for Brooklyn in a way that worked for new and older generations. But, as was the case, he was too real for his own good. He was too real, even if he didn’t do what he’s pleaded guilty to.

Anyway, we already saw this coming. Cas could only take so much. We saw the cracks in the armor. Facing 60 years, he folded up:

Casanova admitted that he was the triggerman in a July 5th, 2020, shooting at a party in Florida with other gang members. The rapper shot a man over a gambling dispute.

The rap star also admitted to an August 5th, 2018, robbery in Manhattan that caused a woman serious bodily injury while she was being restrained.

He steadfastly maintained he was innocence, but…those odds were stacked so far against him. I can’t imagine going to jail for 60 years. So, you know trial and fighting was not an option.

I am hoping he is not going to kill himself.

But that is what they are saying

On at the stand, Cas said: “They put me on suicide watch a couple of days ago” and that he was in a “holding cell where you wear a smock and stuff.

“[In] my teenage days, I attempted to kill myself a couple of times”

Sad.

Just sad.

The New Kendrick Lamar Album Is Finally Here, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers

Kendrick Lamar has finally delivered the Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers album, his first in five years and last on Top Dawg Entertainment.

The follow-up to 2017’s DAMN features 18 tracks across two discs. Features include Ghostface Killah, Sampha, Baby Keem, Summer Walker, Blxst, Kodak Black, and more.

Earlier this week, Kendrick revealed the project’s cover art shot by photographer Renell Medrano, featuring his children and his partner Whitney Alford. The rapper keeps his private life private, and fans were surprised to see a new baby in the family photo.

He also shared the visuals for the non-album single, “The Heart Part 5,” featuring Kendrick Lamar morphing into various famous faces using deepfake technology.

Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers is the Compton rapper’s final album on his longtime label TDE after last summer’s announcement that he was leaving.

TDE president called the departure a “full-circle moment” and spoke positively about the future for Kendrick Lamar.

“I don’t even know if I would describe it that way as ready to leave, as more so ready to build his own thing,” Punch explained to Mic in February. “That’s a grown man right now. We watched him grow from a teenager up into an established grown man, a businessman, and one of the greatest artists of all time.”

“He’s doing a great job developing Baby Keem,” he said. “It’s always been there, but now it’s just time and space where he can actually do it. It’s a beautiful thing to watch because that’s something that started with what we built in the beginning. To see it blossom, it’s a full-circle moment.”

Kendrick Lamar is booked to headline Miami’s Rolling Loud in May. He will also headline and close out one night of England’s Glastonbury Festival a month later.

Cardi B Says She Was “Set Up” By Club DJ; He Issues Apology “I Meant No Malice”

Cardi B claimed she was “set up” after a DJ shouted out Nicki Minaj and played her song “Do We Have A Problem,” at an NYC nightclub while the “WAP” rapper and her husband Offset made an appearance.

Offended, Cardi took to the mic to address the DJ, as reported by AllHipHop

Reports also suggest Cardi B was reacting to DJ Will making inappropriate gang-related references and not the mention of Nicki Minaj. The footage went viral, the former feud between the two stars resurfaced once again.

Cardi B Says: “I Handle My Business In Real Life”

However, Cardi B hopped on Instagram Live to address the situation and claimed the whole thing was a stunt.

“M############ were trying to set me up and everything. And let me tell you something, I handle my business in real life,” she said. “I don’t think y’all really knew what was going on. I don’t think y’all understand what was going on, and when somebody tries to explain it, y’all coming sideways. And it’s, like, why?”

She continued: “I bet y’all didn’t know I got set up. I bet y’all not peeping that certain videos were made from professional cameras, because it was all a setup.” Check out the rest of the video below.

DJ Will’s Apology

DJ Will also responded, issuing a “heartfelt” apology to Cardi B and taking responsibility for his “mistake.”

“I’m reading so many stories and narratives about things that happened and didn’t happen and I just want to clear the air,” he said in a statement.

“Last night in the club, a promoter, manager, passed me along information to shout out and unknowingly I ran with it. I never meant any disrespect to Cardi B, Offset, their family, friends, or fans in any way, shape, or form. It was an honest mistake and I feel horrible about it. Normally, that is something I would never do. I always check and double-check information but I was caught up in what I thought was a Hip-Hop moment.”

He continued, “I accept my responsibility for what happened and send my heartfelt apologies to Cardi B and Offset. I meant no malice, it was definitely no set up, I was simply there to rock the party, which is what I do.”

Kanye West Compared Kim Kardashian’s Style To Marge Simpson

Kim Kardashian discussed losing Kanye West as her fashion guru on an episode of Hulu’s new show The Kardashians.

The reality TV star admitted she relied on her ex-husband to style her during their relationship. Kim Kardashian chatted with her sister Kourtney about choosing outfits became more stressful without Kanye West’s input.

“I got to a point where I would ask his advice for everything down to what I wear,” she told Kourtney. “Even now I’m having panic attacks, like what do I wear?”

Kanye West last styled his ex-wife when she hosted Saturday Night Live in October 2021. But according to her, he walked out in the middle of her monologue.

Kim Kardashian debuted her first post-Ye look at the WSJ. Magazine’s annual Innovator Awards in November 2021. Kanye West was apparently unimpressed with her dress.

“He called me afterward,” she recalled. “He told me my career is over. And then he showed me a picture of Marge Simpson wearing something similar.”

Kim Kardashian, who is currently dating Pete Davidson, filed to divorce Kanye West in February 2021. The former couple had been married since 2014.

Earlier this year, a judge declared Kim Kardashian legally single. The billionaire and Ye agreed to joint custody of their four children.

Cardi B Goes Off On DJ After He Shouts Out Nicki Minaj During Party

Cardi B’s old issues with Nicki Minaj bubbled up again at a club appearance.

A DJ ran afoul of the Atlantic Records rapper by shouting out Nicki Minaj at Richie Romero’s Wonderland in New York City on Wednesday (May 11). Cardi B hopped on a microphone and addressed the DJ, who quickly played her hit single “WAP.”

“Who’s in the building tonight?” Cardi B asked. “‘Cause we want all the f###### smoke. Ya heard? We getting dangerous tonight? We getting dangerous tonight? DJ, are we getting f###### dangerous tonight? Big Brim in the building, big Brim in the building. F### outta here!”

“Big Brim” was a reference to Cardi B’s gang ties. The diamond-selling artist previously discussed her Bloods affiliation in a 2018 interview with GQ.

“When I was 16 years old, I used to hang out with a lot of Bloods,” she said. “I used to pop off with my homies. And they’d say, ‘Yo, you really get it poppin’. You should come home. You should turn Blood.’ And I did. Yes, I did.”

Cardi B’s words for the DJ were captured on video. Earlier this year, she vented about being in the public eye after catching flack for a joke at a Met Gala afterparty.

“I feel like God cursed me with fame, deadass,” she said. “Dead f###### ass. God really cursed me with fame because fame is just like – Oh God, ugh, I hate it here. If I could click my f###### feet three times and go back to f###### 2013 when I was just a regular b#### dancing and making money every single night, that’s where I wanna be.”
