iamComptonis exactly what his name embodies: born and raised in the streets of East Compton, Ca. While you may recognize his face for being the lead visionary for Compton’s very first tattoo shop on VH1’s television series
Black Ink Crew: Compton, real name Danny “KP” Kirkpatrick is actually far more than just a tattoo artist — he’s a HipHop Artist with something to say.
Now, he returns with his newest release, a loosie freestyle titled “TALK OF LA” which released the same evening as the premiere of Season 2’s Black Ink Crew: Compton. The record itself was inspired by the late great Chick Hearn, who’s known for his commentary and clever words as a live broadcaster for the Los Angeles Lakers.
Compton states: “I’m getting better at this… man fucc what you heard, I’m the Talk Of LA. Rest In peace Chick Hearn.”
Born and bred from the streets of Compton, enters “iamCompton” — a Hip Hop artist with the love of Ink, Art, and Music, with the hustle of Compton running through his veins.
iamCompton who was born Danny Kirkpatrick grew up on the Eastside of Compton from Rosecrans to Alondra, the same streets that lyrical legends Dr.Dre and Eazy-E rapped about and once ran. At an early age, Kirkpatrick discovered his passion for music through experience. It was after he had lost everything that he was able to create a different type of energy — and music helped him find his place.
It wasn’t until 2005 that the rapper discovered his talent and began to express himself through music and art. Blessed with the skill of drawing, Compton started doing tattoos. He already knew how to draw, so he figured it would be a great side hustle. That same hustle enabled him to excel and gave him the opportunity to tattoo celebrities like Diddy, Nas, Rick Ross, Dwayne Wade, Travis Scott and Lil Uzi… just to name a few.
Now, iamCompton is the owner of the first ever tattoo shop in Compton and is the face of Black Ink Crew: Compton! iamCompton definitely is no stranger to the game and is now ready to share his talent with the world!

Pete Davidson’s return to Instagram didn’t last long.
After rejoining Instagram last week, Pete Davidson deleted his account on Wednesday (February 23). The Saturday Night Live star left the social media platform a day after Kanye West premiered a song featuring another shot at the comedian.
Kanye West referenced his ongoing drama with Pete Davidson and estranged wife Kim Kardashian on a track titled “Security.” The song debuted at a Donda 2 listening event on Tuesday (February 22).
“Never stand between a man and his kids/Y’all ain’t got enough security for this,” Kanye West raps on the song.
Pete Davidson only shared one post during his time back on Instagram. But some observers have speculated he subtly dissed Kanye West in the bio section of his account.
While the account was still active, the comic’s bio linked to a YouTube video of a scene from Martin Scorsese’s movie The King of Comedy. The clip featured Robert De Niro’s character Rupert Pupkin delivering one of the film’s most memorable lines.
“Better to be king for a night than schmuck for a lifetime,” Pupkin declares.
Pete Davidson is currently in a relationship with Kim Kardashian, who filed to divorce Kanye West in February 2021. ‘Ye has repeatedly threatened the comedian since the couple began dating.

Trippie Redd connect with Nirvan for an incredibly crazy visual that’s chock full of visual effects and trippie visuals. This song bangs in the car so make sure to turn this one all the way up.
Sonyaé hopes to take over the music industry once and for all. With the nickname BLÚ, it’s hard to miss her bright blue hair and overall aesthetic, as she continues to perfect her craft and create bangers for her growing fanbase.
She explains, “Honestly, it calms me. When I put blue lights on, it calms me. Anything that’s going on, don’t matter the vibe, it’s just a sexy vibe. It gives a cool, sexy, laidback, chill vibe. I just love it. I love everything that’s blue: the sky, the ocean. I’m a summer baby, so all that stuff just coincides.”
Priding herself in her versatility, the rising star describes her sound as “soulful with a twist of rap, like trap rap.” Hailing from Newark, New Jersey, Sonyaé is proud to come from the same place as some of music’s greatest to ever do it, including Whitney Houston, Lauryn Hill, and Queen Latifah. Growing up in a musical household, she was always destined to come into her own as a recording artist… and now she’s not looking back.
Most recently, Sonyaé unleashed her newest single and visual for “Cameras Watchin,” produced by international DJ and producer Siobhan Bell. The song serves as a fun rendition of Britney Spears’ “Toxic,” boasting a nostalgic sample that immediately reels you in upon listening.
AllHipHop: Being from Newark, New Jersey, what was that like growing up?
Sonyaé: I’m from Essex County. Like 20 minutes from New York. Being from here is very crazy because I feel like the best female artists of all time… Whitney Houston, Lauryn Hill, and Queen Latifah are all from Jersey. That s###’s crazy. I’m very proud to be from there, just being an artist and having those types of people to look up to is like a secret weapon.
AllHipHop: When did you realize you could do music for a living?
Sonyaé: My dad sings but he’s a gangster. My mom sings and writes and pursued a career in music. Her and her friends are all artists. I was basically raised in the studio so it came with the territory. [laughs] I grew up around it, then my uncle’s a jazz musician. I’ve always been around music so I feel like it chose me, because it’s all I know. I can’t even say there was a time it wasn’t in my life honestly, when I think about it.
AllHipHop: Is Sonyaé your real name?
Sonyaé: Yup, that’s my real name. Everybody calls me BLÚ, though, but Sonyaé is the name my mother gave me.
AllHipHop: New single “Cameras Watchin” out now, how are you feeling?
Sonyaé: I’m feeling very excited about it. It’s got a dope energy to it. I did it with my homegirl Siobhan Bell https://www.instagram.com/siobhanbell/, she’s a huge DJ. She’s freaking amazing, so we collabed on some girl power s###. She came to Atlanta, she came to the crib and we cooked up. It was really organic how it came about. She has that drill vibe from London, then I put my little blu sprinkle on top. Of course that sample is too hard, come on. The “Toxic” sample, Britney Spears? It’s Britney b####! [laughs] It’s just one of them ones that you play to get in ya bag forreal.
AllHipHop: How did you guys come across the “Toxic” sample? That’s so nostalgic!
Sonyaé: Yo for real, so nostalgic. Honestly, I said “I wanna rage!” She said “oh, I got the perfect little batch for you.” She sent me a couple beats and I went right in soon as I heard it. It was perfect, matched exactly what I wanted to spill at the moment. We got some bangers, some afrobeats, rnb hits that’s coming crazy.
AllHipHop: How did y’all meet?
Sonyaé: Omg, Karl Kani. Karl introduced us, he said “I think you guys would be so great together.” Literally put us together and we vibed right away. We kept in touch and she started sending me tunes, them s#### was hard. Oh yeah, it’s up. [laughs] She’s really a great person too aside from the music.
AllHipHop: How was it shooting the music video?
Sonyaé: It was so much fun because it was on a whim. We were really chillin’, cooking. We do that all the time though. Invite the girls over, Patrick Neree was in town. He’s my amazing photographer/videographer from New York. He said “let’s go! Let’s do something raw right now.” We had mad fun, overly lit. Obviously. [laughs]
AllHipHop: What is it you want fans to get from your story?
Sonyaé: I want them to be empowered. I want them to be confident. I want them to know that anything you want to do period can get done, as long as you never let up. Consistency is key, that’s what I want them to know.
AllHipHop: What’s it like being independent?
Sonyaé: It’s cool. It’s very interesting because a lot of my peers are signed. Sharing each other’s experiences, it’s almost freeing in a way to be indie. To be able to do whatever you want, whenever you want is top tier. To be indie but being able to work with some of the people I be collaborating with is a major blessing. [laughs] I love that I own everything, everything that I do. I write all my music so that’s very important to me.
AllHipHop: Talk about co-writing “Collide” on the Queen & Slim soundtrack, I love that song!
Sonyaé: Omg, that song is amazing. That was a dope experience. We pulled up to the session at Michael Jackson’s old studio, it was magical. We was definitely in a studio where some magic happened before because the vibrations were so high. Everybody’s spirit was so fluid, it was good f###### times. We ate cookies and we made hits. So much fun. That experience was special for me because I manifested getting my music into film & television. For that to be the first one, whoa. All Black, female directors, a classic soundtrack & film like that! To be apart of that was really big for me.
AllHipHop: Were Tiana Major9 and EARTHGANG in the studio?
Sonyaé: Venus was there. I love me some EARTHGANG! It was really good vibes. One of them types of vibes like everybody was in the building cooking up. It was so many incredible people in different rooms making magic, one of those vibes.
AllHipHop: What was your reaction when you heard it back?
Sonyaé: I thought they sounded beautiful. I was happy to be a part of such a beautiful love song honestly. I thought they executed it to perfection.
https://www.instagram.com/p/CY7AScjlOFk/
AllHipHop: 3 things you need in the studio?
Sonyaé: Tea, Manuka honey. That’ll be one because that goes together. A good sativa [laughs] A blanket or a heater, some type of something because I’ma be cold. I like a blankie that wraps around my legs and feet while I’m recording. That’s something I really need. Oh but wait, we can replace one of them with food because I definitely need food.
AllHipHop: What kind of food?
Sonyaé: Right now, I’m kinda vegan-ish [laughs] so no dairy, but sometimes I mess up and eat fish. I’m so slim and being completely raw vegan is so hard.
AllHipHop: What made you want to go vegan?
Sonyaé: Well honestly, my body started rejecting certain things… chicken and beef, so I stopped eating that and I was pescetarian. Dairy started making me feel weird too. I said I’m gonna get rid of it all… [laughs] I’m just going to eat fruits and vegetables and see what happens, but I’m hungry all the time doing that.
AllHipHop: How was it working with Young Thug?
Sonyaé: He’s the GOAT, first of all. That’s my big bro, really family at this point. A superstar yet so humble. He’s so dope & one of my musical soulmates. I have like 3: him, Anderson .Paak. & Jeremih. Some people, you get in the studio with and it clicks right away. Y’all on the same wavelength. He’s definitely one of them people, he can do anything. He’s fearless with vocals. Sometimes he be sounding like Dizzy Gillespie. I be like what’s going on right now? [laughs] and he’s a freakin workaholic, I respect that man.
AllHipHop: What’re you most excited for next?
Sonyaé: I’m excited to be dropping singles. I’ve been working very hard so it’s time to drop singles and videos. I’m excited about my album too.
AllHipHop: What can we expect from the album?
Sonyaé: It’s called BLÚ, obviously. [laughs] You can expect that raw woman’s perspective. One that loves hard but absolutely knows her worth. I’m very soulful, but I rap and sing so a good mixture of both.
AllHipHop: Any features?
Sonyaé: Of course I have features lined up, Fivio, Yacthy, my YSL family, but I’m trying to figure out if they’re dropping as singles or if they’ll be part of the album.
Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez argued on social media after DJ Akademiks posted a false story about an assault case involving the rappers.
The two clashed online while Tory Lanez awaits trial for allegedly shooting Megan Thee Stallion in July 2020. Rumors about the case emerged online prior to a pre-trial hearing, which was scheduled for Wednesday (February 23) but postponed to April 5.
Megan Thee Stallion called out the spread of misinformation in a series of Instagram Stories posts. Tory Lanez reacted to her comments via Twitter.
“u can’t buy and tweet your way out of this one ..not today,” he wrote.
Megan Thee Stallion responded by posting texts he sent to her. The messages showed him apologizing to her following their alleged altercation in 2020.
“Lie yo way out of this,” she wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post. “if you aint do s### what you was apologizing for? THE LAWYERS GOT YO PHNE RECORDS AND MINE. ALL YOUR TXT. THEY GOT YOU RECORDED ON THE JAIL PHONE TALKING TO KELSEY APOLOGIZING BEGGING US NOT TO TALK.”

“Good D*ick had me f###### 2 best friends,” he wrote. “and I got caught … that’s what I apologized 4 . … it’s sick how u Spun it tho …”
Megan Thee Stallion blasted Tory Lanez in a response on Instagram Stories. She criticized him for refusing to admit he shot her.

W.E.B. Du Bois was one of the leading minds who fought ardently for the freedom of black people in the 19th and 20th centuries. Read more about the legendary leader!
William Edward Burghardt Du Bois aka W. E. B. Du Bois may have been the most significant leader for African-Americans and their long fight for freedom.
W. E. B. Du Bois was born in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, on February 23rd, 1868, while he grew up in an integrated community.
His time at Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee, had opened his eyes to racism in its ugliest forms. At the time, the South was rife with racism, including lynching and Jim Crow Laws.
After traveling throughout Europe as a student, W. E. B. Du Bois returned to complete his Ph.D. at Harvard in 1895, making him the first African American to earn a Ph.D. from the prestigious Ivy League school.
After traveling throughout Europe and staying in Germany for several years, he returned to the United States and accepted a role as a professor at Atlanta University in Georgia.
Du Bois published several academic works focusing on the study of African Americans and many other social science papers, including the groundbreaking study “The Philadelphia Negro” in 1899.
Having established himself as one of the foremost spokespeople for his race, Du Bois had addressed many events worldwide and coined the term “The Talented Tenth. The concept was that one in ten Black men had been educated at college and, therefore, were in positions to become leaders for the Black community’s fight for freedom.
W. E. B. Du Bois’ inspiration for activism was initially stirred by another spokesperson: Booker T. Washington, who created the concept called Atlanta Compromise during a speech. But the two men disagreed on the philosophy.
The Atlanta Compromise referred to Washington’s idea that Southern blacks would live segregated from whites as long whites in the South guaranteed educational and economic opportunities.
Having felt that African Americans needed to fight for equal rights rather than submitting to segregation, the lynching of Sam Hose in 1899 solidified in his mind that it was time to act on the truth.
This urge to fight for full rights led Du Bois to become a founder of the legendary Niagra Movement in 1905. In 1909, he became one of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) founders.
After creating the NAACP, W. E. B. Du Bois became the Director of Publicity and Research for the organization, where he edited the monthly magazine known as The Crisis. Using The Crisis as a stimulus for change, he aimed to highlight the arguments showing the danger of racial prejudice, leading the magazine to become successful.
Using his position in the NAACP, Du Bois opposed several racist incidents, including the lynching of Jesse Washington. The Crisis broke new ground by using undercover reporting.
Throughout his life, W. E. B. Du Bois had fought hard for equal rights and ingratiated himself with a number of movements, including socialism.
Upon being invited to Ghana to start work on the Encyclopedia Africana, W. E. B. Du Bois died in Accra on August 27th, 1963.
The next day at the March on Washington, he was honored with a moment of silence, and in 1964 the Civil Rights Act, which embodied many of the reforms he had campaigned for, was enacted.
W. E. B. Du Bois was one of the first spokespeople for Civil Rights.
He has an extraordinary place in Black History. His tireless campaigning laid the foundations for the Civil Rights movement for African-Americans in the 20th century.
Megan Thee Stallion is suing her record label, alleging they are refusing to allow her to fulfill her contract commitments.
The “Hot Girl Summer” musician is taking legal action against 1501 Certified Entertainment, seeking a ruling that her 2021 release Something for Thee Hotties compilation meets the legal definition of an “album,” according to documents seen by Pitchfork.
The collection of singles and B-sides contained original production, but in her suit, Megan claims 1501 chiefs said it did not meet the definition of an “album” under their recording agreement and, therefore, did not satisfy her contract’s “Minimum Recording Commitment” clause.
Megan is claiming that the only parameter defining an album under the terms of the contract is its runtime, which must be at least 45 minutes, a stipulation Something for Thee Hotties meets.
Megan wants a non-monetary declaratory judgment that the record can be defined as an album, as well as legal costs.
Seemingly addressing the legal action on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, Megan wrote, “This mf got my accomplishments in that bio and aint contributed to s### SINCE 2018… NOT STUDIO TIME, NOT A MUSIC VIDEO NOT A WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT, s### not even a flight !!! But you trying to eat off me AND PICK WITH ME ONLINE.”
The dispute is not the first beef she has had with her label – back in March 2020, she complained on Instagram Live that 1501 would not let her release new music.
She also insisted she did not understand the terms of her contract when she initially signed it and wanted a renegotiation. The hip-hop star then sued the label, seeking to terminate her contract. A judge granted a temporary restraining order to allow her to release her “Suga” EP just four days later.
In August 2021, she sued them again over a remix of BTS’ track “Butter,” which she featured.
The court subsequently found that 1501 had “recently engaged and will continue to engage in conduct preventing the release of new music.”
It’s been a crazy 24 hours on the internet with Lil Durk delivering his NBA YoungBoy diss and visa versa. Filmed in an apartment shielded from the cold winters of Chicago, Durk posts up with his Chicago goons and takes aim at his Baton Rouge counterparts. The beef runs deep with NBA and Durk after King Von’s murder, but there’s women and money that also add to the friction. Lets see how this one plays out – hopefully with a truce.
NBA YoungBoy takes aim at Lil Durk and has a few stray shots for Gucci, Lil Baby and Boosie to name a few. No telling where this beef ends, but it started with women and eclipsed with King Von’s murder allegedly at the hands of Quando Rondo’s homies. Either way the this song is going all the way up and getting widespread attention via NBA’s Youtube page.
Ahead of his performance of the track Sci-Fi, a portion of Kim’s monologue, which she gave in October, was broadcast throughout the park.
“I married the best rapper of all time. Not only that, he is the richest Black man in America. A talented, legit genius who gave me four incredible kids,” she could be heard saying.
The recording stopped before her next sentence, in which she said, “So when I divorced him, you have to know it came down to just one thing: his personality.”
Kanye, who has made numerous attempts to win the reality star back, also took a swipe at her new boyfriend Pete Davidson on his track “Security,” in which he rapped, “Never stand between a man and his kids/ Y’all ain’t got enough security for this.”
Kim, who filed for divorce from Kanye in February 2021, recently expressed her concern for Pete’s safety after Kanye blasted him on social media. Kanye responded by urging his fans not to do anything to the comedian.
Similar to his earlier “Donda” event, he was controversially joined onstage by Marilyn Manson, who has been accused of sexual assault. Guest performers also included Alicia Keys, DaBaby, Jack Harlow, Playboy Carti, 2 Chainz, Pusha T, and Migos.
The show also revealed that late rapper XXXTentacion’s vocals appear on two tracks – “Selfish” and “True Love.” XXXTentacion died in 2018.
Donda 2 was supposed to be released on Tuesday, but it has yet to appear on the Stem Player, according to social media.
The ongoing antics of Lil Black are becoming legendary. However, sometimes his actions prove to be too polarizing. So, was Kodak Black allegedly shot for disrespecting Nipsey Hussle? Well, according to Wack 100, the music industry veteran, offers an affirmative response.
Recently (on Feb. 11), while in Los Angeles, the Super Gremlin sustains a gunshot wound to the leg. Nonetheless, Mr. Project Baby is in the midst of a speedy recovery. However, just how and why was he shot?
So, to begin with, the music manager contends Black’s injury is retribution for disrespecting Nip. In recent past, a circulating Clubhouse convo shares Wack’s candid perspective. “On some clout chasing s###,” adamantly insists Wack, “Talking about, ‘What’s that s### you said about Lauren London? Get the f### out of here!’ But Kodak got off!”
The Infamous IG Post
For example, to Hip-Hop and to his family, the murder of Nipsey Hussle is still a perplexing and a deafening blow. By the same token, some flippant comments from the “Tunnel Vision” lyricist, still has some purportedly contemplating a reprisal. In fact, the now infamous Instagram post comes with resounding ramifications.
Above all, during an Instagram live broadcast, the “No Flockin'” rapper makes these rude comments. While referencing, Lauren London, he asserts, “She finna be out here single!” Moreover, he mentions, “She finna be a whole widow out here. I’ll be the best man I could be for her. I’ll give her a whole year, she might need a whole year to be crying and s### for dude.”
As a matter of fact, over an entire year passes by before the Rap star offers an apology. Most notably, an array of individuals readily address the contemptuous commentary. With this in mind, does Los Angeles wake up and choose violence?
On the whole, as a man and as a musician, Kodak Black continues to evolve. Hopefully, as time progresses he will grow into a better version of himself.
“Sources close to the Royal Palace notified us exclusively that #QueenElizabeth has passed away. She was scheduled to attend the wedding of British Vogue editor Edward Enninful, but was found dead. Story developing. 🙏🏾❤️,” read a caption on the @hollywoodunlocked Instagram page.
While the British Royal Family did not confirm Queen Elizabeth’s passing, Hollywood Unlocked continued to publish about her alleged death. A second Instagram post claimed there are “carefully constructed plans [titled ‘Operation London Bridge’] that have already been put in place for this moment.”
–
As other publications and social media users expressed skepticism about Hollywood Unlocked‘s report, Jason Lee backed up his blog. On Tuesday afternoon, Lee tweeted, “We don’t post lies and I always stand by my sources. Waiting for an official statement from the palace.”
Lee also uploaded an iPhone note about the backlash over Hollywood Unlocked‘s Queen Elizabeth report to his personal Instagram account. The former Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood cast member stated that he has “never been wrong” and he trusts his sources.
–
Today, the unverified Twitter account @HollywoodUL issued an apology on behalf of Hollywood Unlocked, blaming an “intern journalist” for the mistake. That tweet thread has since been deleted. Jason Lee addressed the @HollywoodUL posts on his own verified Twitter account.
“Woke up to some fake account posting a retraction. We do not know that account and we have not retracted our story. There has yet to be an official statement from the Palace. Staying tuned,” wrote Jason Lee on Wednesday morning.
On Monday night, John Mayer recruited Questlove to fill in for his drummer during his concert in Madison Square Garden in New York.
The singer announced on Twitter before the concert that his drummer Steve Ferrone had tested positive for Covid-19, so he would be performing a reworked show.
According to People, John Mayer revealed his background vocalist Carlos Ricketts was also absent because of the virus at the start of the concert.
He then proceeded to play the majority of the gig acoustic before surprising the audience with an unexpected appearance from Questlove, who played the drums during the finale.
Sharing snaps from the concert on Instagram, Mayer thanked The Roots musician for helping out at such short notice and the audience for showing “enthusiasm and energy in the face of some disappointing news.”
“My boundless appreciation goes out to the legendary @questlove, who stepped in on an hour’s notice to help end the show on such a powerful and definitive note,” he wrote. “The brilliant musicians in this band stepped up in ways that I will never forget, and will bond us forever.
“The next couple of tour stops will feature this format (minus the very otherwise-engaged @questlove) and I will devote every moment to making sure we bring you the best show we can.”
Questlove shared on Instagram that he was planning to attend the show as a guest, and he was “scared” about replacing his “idol.”
“I checked my phone: ‘Ferrone got covid, can you sit in?'” he recalled in the caption. “Truth be told I coulda played the whole show… I was anxious, amped, timorous, excited, scared & hyped!! Gotta say once onstage it was gravy. I haven’t played with this combo since the @rootspicnic in nyc 2013 w D’angelo & we haven’t lost a step. It was hella fun tonight!”

Back on November 17, Young Dolph, sustains multiple gun shot wounds. Eventually, on that same day, the King of Memphis passes away. Unfortunately, his wounds prove fatal. Currently, for his untimely murder, two men are under arrest and being charged. So, which one of Young Dolph’s alleged murder suspect’s has direct ties to Blac Youngsta?
The Offense
In fact, between both Paper Route Frank and Blac Youngsta there are multiple instances of acrimony. Furthermore, Blac Youngsta’s Heavy Camp artist — Lil Migo, also known as Adrious Smith — is allegedly related to Cornelius Smith. Of course, Mr. Smith’s name may sound familiar.
For one thing, in relation to the shooting death of Dolph Gabbana, he faces the charges of Murder I. However, under the direction of an esteemed criminal defense attorney he pleads not guilty. So, things are quickly growing more curious.
Previously, Smith was unable to retain counsel. Nonetheless, that is no longer an issue. Whereas, currently, he is being represented by the acclaimed Michael E. Scholl, this according to BET. Of course, this power move requires both great access and solid financial backing. So, just now is this individual — who allegedly is trying to silence the “Major” MC’s legacy — able to afford such expensive representaton?
As of late, Lil Migo has yet to earn platinum recording status. So, someone contact Sway. Then, please ask him how Cornelius Smith is able to retain Scholl’s services. Moreover, Justin Johnson — the other man being charged with Flippa’s murder — is receiving the counsel of a court appointed public pretender defender.
In other words, the historic feud between Mr. “1 Scale” and Blac Youngsta naturally arouses suspicion. Indeed, the culmination of these actions creates conjecture. Again, the Heavy Camp jefe notoriously gains the spotlight. Check out the diligent breakdowns that Poetik Flakko and King Ak Fortyseven offer.
The Response
TThrough his children and through his artistry, the legacy of Young Dolph will continue to be realized. Thoughts?
