Doja Cat is inspired by how the Beastie Boys straddled different genres with their music.
When she was asked for her current musical inspirations in an interview with Dazed magazine, the “Say So” singer pointed to the “Fight for Your Right (To Party!)” hitmakers and their unique blend of rap and punk.
“Beastie Boys is a huge inspiration to me. Beastie Boys will hit you with hard, loud, and crazy rap, but they’ll also hit you with real raw ’90s punk, which I love, or smooth techno that feels sexy and sleek. And you’ll be like, ‘Where the f**k did this come from?'” she explained.
While Doja found fame with her fusion of pop, R&B and rap, she doesn’t want to be limited to those genres and is interested in exploring the punk realm too.
“I’m crazy about putting different genres into the same album or even into the same song,” she shared. “I want to take some of the beautiful elements of vocal distortion and play those into the music. I don’t know if what I’m doing is going to be pop, but I want to keep that in mind for when I go into the studio.”
The 27-year-old is working on her follow-up to 2021’s Planet Her and also has a bunch of songs she wants to release separately.
“There’s songs from a year and a half ago that I made, and I’m like, ‘These need to come out.’ I have a project that’s going to be quite consistent, hopefully, which is coming up next and is the real album, the real project. But before that, I would like to put out some singles that don’t really connect to it in any way. They’re just fun things that I would like to put out,” Doja teased.
Kanye West has been crowned “Antisemite of the Year” by watchdog group StopAntisemitism, who believe he’s the “most problematic” person of 2022. The group chose West after several weeks of research and nearly 10,000 votes from members online.
“Kanye uses his celebrity platform to push dangerous antisemitic tropes about Jews and power and he refuses to stop,” Executive Director Liora Raz told TMZ. “His continuous onslaught of bigoted statements has resulted in horrific antisemitic acts perpetrated by white supremacists, Black Hebrew Israelites, and other fringe groups looking to cause Jews harm.
“Jew hatred is already out of control in the United States and the last thing we need is a celebrity like Kanye to add fuel to that fire.”
West has made several inflammatory comments regarding Jewish people over the last couple of months. In October, he tweeted he was going “deathcon 3 on Jewish people,” which bred an army of antisemites to follow suit. Shortly after the tweet, a group of people hung a sign over a Los Angeles freeway that read, “Kanye is right about the Jews.” West then sat down with journalist Piers Morgan and “clarified” he only wished harm on Jewish people who’ve done him wrong. The final nail in the coffin was his subsequent remarks on Alex Jones’ Infowars during which he admitted he admired Adolf Hitler and denied parts of the Holocaust.
Consequently, several corporations have cut ties with West, including adidas and Balenciaga. West’s honorary degree from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago was also revoked and he was, once again, suspended from Instagram after dropping a song addressing the antisemitic controversy.
The outro of the songs samples his appearance on Infowars show with, “Can we just kind of say, like, you like the uniforms but that’s about it?” to which West replies, “No, there’s a lot of things that I love…about Hitler.”
Gucci Mane delivered a surprise 80-track album called So Icy Boyz: The Finale on Friday (December 9). Clocking in at three hours and 51 minutes, the behemoth of a project includes appearances by Lil Baby, Jeremih, Trey Songz, 2 Chainz, Offset and Quavo as well as several 1017 Records artists. Among the massive tracklist is a tribute to late Migos rapper Takeoff, who was fatally shot last month.
Aptly titled “A Letter To Takeoff,” the song finds Gucci Mane rapping: “How the f### we gon’ lose Takeoff?/Damn, he didn’t deserve it/We don’t supposed to question God, but damn, Takeoff was perfect.”
So Icy Boyz: The Finale arrives less than two months after Gucci Mane shared So Icy Boyz 22. Naturally, fans had plenty of jokes for the project on Twitter. As one person wrote, “Literally dropped an Avengers flick length album.” Another pointed out the album was longer than The Avengers: Endgame, Titanic and Avatar: Way of the Water.
While Gucci Mane may have broken the rap record for longest album, a few artists have rolled out unusually long projects in the past. For example, Chris Brown dropped the 45-track effort Heartbreak on a Full Moon in 2017, which another fan referenced in response to the Gucci Mane LP. They wrote: “Gucci Mane dropped a 80 song album … Chris Brown has 24 hours to respond.”
Of course, it’s doubtful Brown will accept the challenge, but check out the So Icy project above (if you have four hours to spare).
Los Angeles city council member Kevin de León can kiss the political game goodbye. In October, he was outed as a racist. On Friday (Dec. 9), he was seen fighting at a holiday event in Lincoln Heights.
To make matters worse, there were children present. They just wanted early Christmas presents and saw the councilman testing his hand skills instead.
In the video, struggles with a man, which made de León’s Santa hat go flying like Bobby Shmurda’s Knicks hat in the “Hot N***a” video.
de León would later tell ABC News that the video doesn’t show how he was antagonized and headbutted before grabbing the man. Another staff member was also elbowed in the face.
Despite having to unbutton his pink shirt, he maintained that sly hair look that most politicians have when they are on camera.
RIGHT NOW:
Disgraced Los Angeles City Councilmember Kevin De Leon JUST assaulted local organizer Jason Reedy. @kdeleon is out here assaulting people AGAIN. He was caught on those racist anti-Black leaked tapes and now he’s assaulting Black folks. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! pic.twitter.com/BAhTvHIDlc
“What the video doesn’t capture, most conveniently, is he thrusted his pelvis into me, and then he head-butted me right into the head,” de León said. “When he head-butted me is when I grabbed him and put him on the table – I held him on the table there for maybe five to 10 seconds.
“Then at that moment I let him go. Another melee ensued. He turned the corner, he threw a punch at me – a full blown punch, hit me right in the face, he explained.
The man in question was later identified as Jason Reedy. His lawyer called the councilman a disgrace. He also suggested that de León has lost all political legitimacy.
Notably, before the holiday event debacle, de León attended his first council meeting since October. There was a mixed reaction as some colleagues embraced him while others left.
Their echoed calls for his resignation didn’t go unnoticed. Although a police report was filed for the fight, no one was charged.
Could this incident be the final nail in his political coffin?
Fyre Fest founder Billy McFarland is setting up his next big venture, an idea many believe eclipses the disastrous 2017 event with rapper Ja Rule.
The 31-year-old said he plans to have a series of “virtual immersive decentralized reality” events, including exclusive parties that would broadcast to the “entire world.”
Like Fyre, McFarland said big-name influencers and entertainers would be in the building.
“They could, like, buy the talent a drink and then have some drink service bringing [the same kind of drink] to them at the same time the talent gets it,” he said.
“So, if you’re 18 years old and you’re on your computer in the middle of America, now you can actually come [to this party] and not only watch what’s happening, but take part in changing it,” the big-time party promoter said. “It kind of gives you access to this really cool land and group of people.”
In this party, where attendees will seem like they are actually in the same room together through technology, he went on to say “If they decide to chum the water where I’m swimming, the water will actually be chummed and the sharks will be happy,” poking at himself.
McFarland, who has proven himself the ultimate salesman, will have to pull out all the stops to convince people to get tickets.
Incarcerated Bad Boy star G-Dep has an advocate in the Manhattan District Attorney’s office who is pushing for him to receive an early release.
The rapper was sentenced to 15 years to life in upstate Fishkill Correctional Facility for murdering John Henkel in 1993.
According to the New York Post, one of the lawyers working for D.A. Alvin Bragg, David Drucker, has sent his petition to the New York Governor, hoping she will be lenient and allow the “Special Delivery” chart-topper to go free.
In an August 3rd letter, on official office letterhead, Drucker wrote to Gov. Kathy Hochul’s Executive Clemency Bureau.
“Many defendants display remorse, but it is rarely clear how much they are sorry for their crime and how much they are sorry for getting caught,” Drucker’s letter read.
“With Mr. Coleman, there is no doubt — his remorse is as genuine as any I, or others I have talked to, have ever seen,” said Drucker.
The irony of this ask is that Drucker was a part of the team that convicted G-Dep, whose real name is Trevell Coleman, in 2012 (almost 20 years after the murder).
G-Dep confessed to the murder in 2010 and turned himself into the 25th Precinct in Harlem. Drucker says asking for his release does not excuse the heinous act that he did.
“The defendant shot him three times in the torso, killing him, and then he biked off leaving the victim to die,” Drucker revealed.
But years later, Drucker believes G-Dep has repented, reformed, and is genuinely sorry.
“A decision to release Mr. Coleman now would be a very safe as well as humane decision. On behalf of the New York County District Attorney’s Office, I strongly urge you to do just that.”
“It’s a wonderful feeling, man. It’s more of a feeling, though. It’s affirmation, you know what I’m saying? That when you give God… When you leave it up to God, you know what I’m saying? And this is just affirmation that me taking that leap of faith that he saw me through, you know what I’m saying?” he said.
The family of the victim is totally against the artist receiving clemency. His brother, Robert Henkel, demands the governor immediately ignore the request.
“This is such a conflict of interest. The same guy who put him away is now asking for him to get out. It is one thing to seek [clemency] for drug crimes – but not murder,” Henkel said. “Let him rot in jail! Let him do his 15 years, and then he can try to get out on parole.”
When hearing about the remarks, G-Dep said he knew the brother was upset, but he has kept the same energy since the trial.
He said, “I can’t blame him. I understand. Well, that’s his family. That’s how he feels.”
Diddy shocked Twitter on Saturday (December 10) after he announced he’d fathered a new baby—a girl named Love Sean Combs. The Bad Boy Records mogul announced the news in a tweet that read: “I’m so blessed to welcome my baby girl Love Sean Combs to the world. Mama Combs, Quincy, Justin, Christian, Chance, D’Lila, Jessie and myself all love you so much! God is the Greatest!”
I’m so blessed to welcome my baby girl Love Sean Combs to the world. Mama Combs, Quincy, Justin, Christian, Chance, D’Lila, Jessie and myself all love you so much! God is the Greatest!
Of course, Twitter exploded with reactions—and not necessarily in a good way. It’s well-documented Diddy has been in an open relationship with Yung Miami, leaving many to wonder how the City Girl is feeling.

TMZ reports the baby was born in October at a Newport Beach, California hospital although the mother’s identity remains a mystery. The latest addition marks Diddy’s sixth child with multiple women. Yung Miami cryptically addressed the news after a fan asked her to be the next guest on her own podcast, Caresha, Please.
“You might be the next guest on caresha please because we need answers,” the fan wrote. She replied with two eyeball emojis and nothing more.
The unexpected revelation from Diddy sparked a cascade of memes and GIFs. Find some of those below.
Fat Joe and Uncle Luke finally got the chance to confront each other over their recent claims involving Trick Daddy, Pitbull and DJ Khaled. The ordeal started on Friday (December 9) when the 2 Live Crew legend stumbled across a video of Fat Joe’s appearance on the My Expert Opinion podcast from May. Uncle Luke disputed Fat Joe’s comments he was responsible for getting Trick Daddy, Pitbull and DJ Khaled signed.
Fat Joe fired back and insisted “Fat Joe doesn’t lie.” At the same time, he suggested Uncle Luke had blocked him on Instagram, so he was unable to make his case. But the two rap heavyweights ultimately confronted each other on Instagram Live and hashed out their differences.
“I’ve been 20 years in Miami, never had one argument with anybody […] I told you, Luke discovered Miami,” he said. “Luke is an icon, a living legend. He created the sound of Miami. He put everybody on.”
He then continued to re-hash his previous story about taking Trick Daddy’s demo to Atlantic Records and told Luke, “I know you discovered Trick, I know you discovered Pitbull—I never said I discovered them.”
Luke, who’d been patiently waiting for Fat Joe to finish, finally had a second to respond and reflected positively on their long friendship.
“We got history, we got too much love, that’s why I was kind of taken aback,” he said. “When I got Pit, it was because there was Big Pun and Fat Joe, these Puerto Rican artists doing big numbers and s###.”
Luke’s audio, however, was only working intermittently so it was difficult to discern what he was attempting to say. He did admit he got burned out on the music business and took a step back. Ultimately though, Uncle Luke determined, “Both of us are right in this situation.”
Fat Joe’s attitude during his conversation with Uncle Luke was slightly different than when he thought he was blocked, although he did admit he didn’t have anything to do with discovering Trick Daddy.
“Fat Joe don’t lie, and Fat Joe don’t back down from nothing in the universe,” he said in part. “I hope we all know this in love. Now, I said what I said. OK? So, I didn’t put on Trick Daddy. What I did do was I came to Miami, his music was rocking all over the streets. I came to Super Bowl and I took—I had no business, nothing to do with discovering Trick Daddy—I took his CD, his demo, his cassette tape […] I don’t even know if Trick Daddy knows this. Once they get Trick involved, you know, Trick crazy, but he’s my brother and I love Trick.
“Like I said, I live in Miami 20 years, I never had an argument with one single person, so I love Trick Daddy. But I’mma be honest. Maybe Trick Daddy don’t know this, but when I heard his demo, I took it to Atlantic Records that Monday and I went to Craig Kallman’s office […] Out of love for Hip Hop and the culture, I said you need to sign this guy. Fat Joe had nothing to do with paperwork. Fat Joe didn’t put him on. I did it out of love for Hip Hop ‘cause the man was on fire.”
Fat Joe and Uncle Luke are being commended for handling their miscommunication like “grown men.” Watch the full conversation above.
DJ Khaled and famed boxer Mike Tyson took a recent trip to Saudi Arabia, where they visited the city of Makkah. On Friday (December 9), the GOD DID producer shared an Instagram video of himself crying when he saw the Ka’bah for the first time. [Editor’s Note: The Ka’bah is a small stone building in the court of the Great Mosque at Mecca that contains a sacred black stone and is the goal of Islamic pilgrimage and the point toward which Muslims turn in praying.]
“The second I walked in Mecca tears came down my eyes Tears of joy,” he wrote in the caption. “My whole life I wanted to go to MECCA TO PRAY AND TO GIVE MY GRATITUDE TO ALLAH. I prayed for the world for more love, more life, more peace, more joy, more happiness, more health and protection for all of us! GOD IS THE GREATEST!!!!! It’s so beautiful we all ONE LOVE here. GOD DID !!!!!!! Bless up my brother @miketyson.”
DJ Khaled also made a stop in the capital city of Riyadh, where he performed music from his latest album, GOD DID. He addressed the event in another Instagram clip with the caption: “Saudi Arabia. Riyadh thank you for having me SONG OF THE YEAR ! GOD DID! OH YES HE DID ! When I rise up in morning I’ll post more of the love that you showed me and my friends very very grateful for the love tears of joy ! @wethebestmusic @rocnation ! Thank u @mdlbeast @mdlbeast.soundstorm @richforever.”
DJ Khaled spoke briefly about his deep Muslim faith during a 2016 interview withRolling Stone, saying, “It would take me 40 years to tell you everything I pray about because I pray almost every second of the day. It’s the way I was brought up, and it keeps a shield around me.”
As for Tyson, the undisputed heavyweight champ reportedly converted to Islam in 1992 after spending time in prison. He has made several pilgrimages to Mecca throughout the years. He tweeted as far back as 2010, “I just left the Holy City of Mecca where I was blessed to have been able to make Umrah.”
The photos from DJ Khaled and Mike Tyson’s trip have gone viral on social media. In fact, Khaled became a trending Twitter topic on Saturday (December 10).
Fat Joe has addressed Uncle Luke’s recent Instagram post refuting the Terror Squad rapper’s claims he was responsible for signing Trick Daddy and Pitbull. On Friday (December 9), Fat Joe headed to his preferred social media platform and explained the point he was trying to make during a months-old appearance on the My Expert Opinion Podcast.
“So somebody woke me up and was like, ‘Yo, Uncle Luke is on IG addressing some things you said,'” Fat Joe began. “So I looked it up and I went to comment ‘cause I’ve known Uncle Luke for 30, 40 years, but for some reason, my comments are prohibited from commenting.
“Luke is a living legend, an icon, somebody we look up to, somebody we look up to forever. Yes, he went to the Supreme Court […] and yes, he put on the whole Miami. So he’s got an IG tonight at 7, I guess if I can’t comment, I’m not going to be able to go on his IG.”
From there, Fat Joe insisted his recollection of aiding in Trick Daddy’s rise to fame was absolutely correct.
“Fat Joe don’t lie, and Fat Joe don’t back down from nothing in the universe,” he continued.
Fat Joe said he eventually got a call from Kallman who told him he’d signed Trick Daddy, thus launching his career. But Uncle Luke was evidently confused by Joe’s initial comments. As he explained in the Instagram post, “I love Joe, but I find this very interesting because I discovered @trickdaddydollars. He did his first song with me as soon as he got out of lock up, and he stayed with me. I also discovered and signed @pitbull to the platinum selling Luke Records label. He did his first songs with me. Because I’m from Miami, I felt the importance of signing a Cuban rapper, so I discovered him off of battle rap tapes.”
Trick Daddy appeared on “Scarred” by the former 2 Live Crew member from Luke’s 1996 album, Uncle Luke. The song caught the attention of Ted Lucas, a former concert promoter and then-CEO of Slip-n-Slide Records, who promptly signed the rapper. Slip-n-Slide released Trick Daddy’s debut album, Based on a True Story, in 1997. Three years later, he signed to Atlantic Records, the basis of Fat Joe‘s argument. XXXTENTACION was fatally shot outside of RIVA Motorsports in Deerfield Beach, Florida on June 18, 2018. Four suspects—Trayvon Newsome, Robert Allen, Dedrick Williams and Michael Boatwright—were indicted for the slaying just a month later. But according to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, Newsome is attempting to separate himself from two of his co-defendants. Filed in November, the docs are asking Judge Michael A. Usan to sever Newsome from the others.
“The defendant, Trayvon Newsome, does not feel he will get a fair trial if tried in a multiple defendant trial,” the paperwork reads. “The evidence against Mr. Newsome differs substantially from the evidence against the remaining 2 co-defendants. While their cell phone data records place them at the scene of the shooting, Mr. Newsome’s does not.”
The docs also claim the severance is necessary to “promote a fair determination of the guilt or innocence of each defendant.” Newsome’s legal team also believes, “the defendant’s defense will be compromised and his ability to testify in his own defense will be diminished in a co-defendant trial.”
Newsome was arrested in August 2018 on charges of murder in the first degree and robbery with a deadly weapon. He turned himself in to Broward County authorities with his attorney present.
In August, Allen agreed to testify against Newsome and his other co-defendants in hopes of getting a reduced sentence.
“Mr. Allen’s role in this, it was much less than the other three,” attorney Jim Lewis told NBC Miami. “More of an accessory after the fact than really part of the planning. Certainly, he never got out of the car, never had a gun, never shot anybody.”
The sentencing is scheduled for February 23, 2023.
Earlier this week, Cardi unveiled the final installment, called “Let Me Be…Next Level Energy.”
“For my final collection with Reebok, I had to make sure we brought it to the next level. I needed every piece from the slides to the jumpsuit to be as big, bold, and fun as we could make them,” she smiled.
The collection includes popular items in refreshed colorways, including the Cardi B Bodysuit in black and Cardi B Woven Jacket and Legging Short in modern beige.
There is also a range of slides and a showstopping jumpsuit – a long sleeve full mesh catsuit in an eye-catching print.
“We’re so grateful for our partnership with Cardi over the years. Having the opportunity to collaborate with someone as passionate, iconic, and talented as her is an unmatched experience and will certainly leave a lasting impact on the brand,” added Reebok chief executive Todd Krinsky. “Since 2018, we have proudly pushed boundaries together, with an emphasis on inclusivity and self-expression, and this final collection really exemplifies and celebrates that.”
With Christmas right around the corner, three Canadian kids better not ask for anything Fortnite-related. Instead, their parents will be gifting Fortnite with a lawsuit this Christmas.
In a joint lawsuit against Epic Games, three parents say the battle royale game is why children stopped showering, eating, and sleeping. One of those children racked up 7,700 hours of game time in just two years.
Now I was a bit of a gamer during my childhood, too, but mama love wasn’t having that. Especially not showering. She’d pull a power cord with one hand and smack you with a washcloth and Irish Spring in the other hand.
At some point, parental discretion plays a part in a child’s behavior. Epic Games released a statement calling attention to their parental controls.
“Parents can receive playtime reports that track the amount of time their child plays each week, and require parental permission before purchases are made,” the company stated. Likewise, they dismissed the lawsuit calling it meritless, and they intend to prove this in court.
In contrast, the parents referenced the World Health Organization classifying video game addiction as a behavioral disorder. WHO defines gaming addiction as a behavior that disrupts a person’s family, work, social and personal life over a 12-month period.
Quebec Superior Court Justice Sylvain Lussier acknowledged the dangers of gaming addiction, comparing it to smoking.
All things considered, video games are more immersive now than in years past with the evolution of the internet and technology, but that can’t be an excuse to be hungry and funky.
Children buy video games with their parents’ money. Considering Fortnite’s pay-to-win business model, parents need to stop paying.
Adolph “Young Dolph” Thornton Jr. was killed on November 17, 2021, at the age of 36. Before his passing, the Memphis native frequently made music with his cousin Key Glock.
This year saw the arrival of Key Glock’s PRE5L EP. Hip Hop media personality Ebro Darden caught up with the Paper Route Empire representative for an interview on Apple Music 1.
The Rap Life Radio conversation also included Key Glock reflecting on the loss of Young Dolph. His Dum and Dummer collaborator was fatally shot in Memphis near a local bakery.
“I know it’s something I’ll never get over, and I can’t ignore it, it is what it is. But I ain’t going to let it slow me down,” stated Key Glock. “It gave me adrenaline in a good way to go harder, to know that I got somebody watching over me that want me to do what I’m doing. And he knows like I know what I’m finna do.”
Young Dolph signed Key Glock to his Paper Route Empire label in 2017. Their Dum and Dummer joint project dropped two years later. Dum and Dummer 2 arrived in 2021. Both albums peaked in the Billboard 200’s Top 10.
“We’re each other’s biggest fans, for sure,” added Key Glock about Dolph. “Basically, we got the same work ethic. We work so much. We don’t overwork ourselves because we know how much to give. We know how much to take. So, everything just naturally just plays its part and just it flows out easy. So, everything just comes easy.”
Key Glock released PRE5L on November 17. The 5-track collection follows 2020’s Yellow Tape album and 2021’s Yellow Tape 2 album. Glock also appeared on the Young Dolph and Paper Route Empire compilation Paper Route Illuminati from 2021.
Kool G Rap hasn’t pumped out a full project since a 2018 joint effort with 38 Spesh called Son Of G Rap.
Now he has released Last Of A Dying Breed, which serves as a comeback album. The project features Big Daddy Kane, Nems, AZ, 38 Spesh, General See and even AllHipHop’s own Jigsaw.
The oft-delayed project boasted singles like “Fly Till I Done” with Kane, “Critical” with Nems and the latest single “Born Hustler,” which pairs the legend us with AZ, Spesh and General Vee. The album was produced entirely by Domingo and EP’d by the National Hip-Hop Museum.
G Rap’s return was impressive, having him chart within the Top 10 of iTunes hottest rap albums. The veteran rapper also trended all day on Twitter for his latest opus.
Domingo, a beat maestro that has worked with Big Pun, Three 6 Mafia, Big Daddy Kane and even Drake, said this was a great return for KGR.
“It feels good to see a legend like Kool G Rap drop an album that can still contend in the Top 10 Hip-Hop charts with so many different sounds in Hip-Hop competing with each other,” he said.
Along with the album, the video for “Born Hustler” hit YouTube as well.
“I admit I f##k with all the ladies, that’s both older and young ladies” – R. Kelly
R. Kelly ain’t getting out of jail no time soon. Let’s put that there. It has been a long time coming, but he has been convicted of a number of infractions related to the rape and pillage of young girls. Today, a bunch of songs were put on the DSPs and it was called “I Admit It.”
Well, that is all you need to hear, really. The song was prompt;y removed from the platforms and it was deemed the “bootleg” by those that own the songs of the album. Check this out:
This dude was recording songs as if he was going to beat the case! And he was going to make a mockery of the case and the charges against him! He really didn’t thunk he was going to get convicted! So, I suppose, somebody hijacked some of the songs that fool wrote before he took his downfall and released them! He got mad attention on top of that! They should have been paying attention to SZA!
SZA dropped an album today too!
We should be giving this our time.
At any rate…..R. Kelly is a piece of trash!
They are listening to her in jail! Maybe Kellz is there!
A wine bottle helped police catch Takeoff’s alleged killer.
New York Times reporter Joe Coscarelli obtained an affidavit, which revealed more details about the Takeoff murder investigation. According to the affidavit, video evidence showed Takeoff’s alleged killer Patrick Xavier Clark in possession of a wine bottle at the time of the shooting.
“During the actual shooting, Clark was holding a wine bottle in one hand while he discharged the firearm with the other,” the affidavit read. “Immediately after the shooting, Clark ran over by the House of Blues, where he set the wine bottle down and never came back for it.”
Police collected the bottle during their initial investigation. Forensic analysis revealed Clark’s fingerprints on the item.
The affidavit included information from a man named Willie Bland, who’s identified as an associate of Quavo. Bland said he was part of a group that included Takeoff and Quavo, who were visiting Jas Prince in Houston.
Quavo got into an argument with Michael Prince, Cameron Joshua and Christopher Watkins over a dice game at a bowling alley. Bland said he saw Joshua and Watkins with guns at the bowling alley and a local gym earlier in the day.
Bland “believed Joshua said something and began pulling a gun” when Quavo turned and walked away from the argument. The Quavo associate reacted by punching Joshua, assuming the armed men were trying to rob the Migos member. Takeoff wasn’t involved in the altercation.
Gunfire soon erupted as Bland believed Joshua was shooting at him. Bland admitted he started shooting at Joshua.
Police didn’t find video evidence of Joshua shooting a gun. But they also determined Bland didn’t shoot Takeoff or the surviving victims based on the angles and injuries suffered. Authorities eventually zeroed in on Clark as the gunman who shot and killed Takeoff.
Clark was arrested and charged with murder on December 1. He remains in custody after a judge set his bond at $2 million.
Lori Harvey makes all her suitors sign a non-disclosure agreement before dating her. This legally binding agreement has a huge penalty for those that violate.
She has had several high-profile men like Future and Michael B. Jordan. Her step-dad is Steve Harvey. Anyway, I just wanted to mention that, because it speaks to the reason why she is so poppin’ right now. Anyway. She’s a beauty that has managed to keep her relationships private until she was going public with them. Personally, I wanted to see her and MBJ make it, but I knew better.
According to rumors, anyone she dates must sign a legally binding nondisclosure agreement.
This stems from a Media Take Out report that has gone viral.
No pics, no screen shots, no vids or video chats or other communication shall be shared with us, the nosey public. If they decide to do the dastardly deed of sharing anyway, they will pay.
One million-dollars is the penalty! Drake has a similar situation, according to the report. In fact, they allege it is the same Los Angeles law firm that drew up the agreement. “Anyone who wants to date Lori has to sign it,” the source told MTO. By the way, no man has owned signing the agreement. Why would they when they may be on the hook for a cool MILLI!?!
John Boyega, Damson Idris, Jonathan Majors and even her ex-boyfriend have all had links to Lori. She’s 25-year-old and hotter than fish grease!
Lil Durk and Only the Family announced a new compilation titled Loyal Bros 2.
The upcoming mixtape features OTF members Doodie Lo, Booka600, Boonie Moe, C3, Chief Wuk, OTF DeDe and OTF Jam. The 23-track project also includes an unreleased verse from the late King Von.
Loyal Bros 2 is scheduled to drop via EMPIRE on December 16. Future, Kodak Black, Icewear Vezzo, BIG30 and more make guest appearances on the compilation.
Lil Durk previewed the project by dropping a song titled “Hanging With Wolves” on Friday (December 9). Chopsquad DJ produced the track.
Loyal Bros 2 arrives a month after Lil Durk and his OTF Gaming took down their “Trenches” roleplay server on Grand Theft Auto Online. Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of GTA publisher Rockstar Games, asked OTF Gaming to shut down “The Trenches” as part of a crackdown on cryptocurrency and NFTs.
“We have no choice but to comply with their demands as we intend to do right by Take-Two and Rockstar,” OTF Gaming said in November. “We will be working with them to find an amicable solution to this matter.”

It’s crazy to think yvngxchris is only 18 years old, and already accomplishing what most recording artists only wish they could in a lifetime. And with the legendary Pusha T backing him, the rising star sees no limits when it comes to his artistry.
Fresh off the heels with his standout collaborations, “DAMN HOMIE” featuring Lil Yachty and “Quikkskope” featuring DC The Don, yvngxchris blessed fans with his highly-anticipated debut project titled VIRALITY, which peaked at #9 on Spotify upon release. The 8-track project speaks volumes to his rise in the rap game, from being a regular kid in Virginia Beach to now living out his dreams on the daily.
He states, “I’m evolving every day, learning new things, and trying to get accustomed to this lifestyle — and I will. I’m focusing on being as versatile as possible and outworking the competition.”
While yvngxchris’ sound is diverse in itself, it’s his super turnt energy that has fans coming back for more. Most recently, the young star wrapped up his Barely Legal Tour with labelmate SSGKobe which kicked off at Rolling Loud Miami and ended in his hometown of Virginia Beach.
AllHipHop spoke with yvngxchris, who was posted up in his crib in Virginia Beach. Read below as we discuss the new project, collaborating with DC The Don and Lil Yachty, graduating early, Xxxtentacion’s influence on him, and more!
AllHipHop: How you been since the last time we talked?
yvngxchris: Honestly, I’ve just been trying to evolve overall, evolve in sound, quality and energy. I’ve been shooting more music videos and trying to get my profile more established. That’s really where my focus is at right now..
AllHipHop: I know you just dropped the new EP, “VIRALITY.” How you feeling?
yvngxchris: That project went crazy, as hell. “VIRALITY” was one of the starts to the new journey, the new path. I shot the “Serenity” video recently, that video shoot was a cinematic experience. I had my boy BOX BOYS out here, because I did that one for XXXTentacion. Not even just for XXX, for Nipsey, Juice, every legend. I shot that video, we had a little static TV. It’s just a creative and captivating video. It’s super creative.
AllHipHop: What was Nipsey’s influence on you?
yvngxchris: I didn’t really listen to his music too much however I did hear him a lot because of my dad. He had a great influence on him, he was a big fan. When he died, my dad was definitly affected by it, much more than I expected. It was only then that I knew like okay, Nipsey has a really big influence on so many people. I’ve also had many talks with my A&R, who told me about the influence Nipsey had on him also. Hearing about his influence from others, then studying the legacy on him is what led me to talk about it.
AllHipHop: Your fans have been waiting for the EP. How’s it feel to finally have it out?
yvngxchris: Man having it out, it feels so good, especially because I’ve been holding that in for such a long time. I feel it’s time to evolve, it’s time to drop some new music. It’s time to give them the new yvngxchris. I’ve gotten older and most of that music is from when I was younger, 16 years old specifically. So I really want to focus on evolving, fasho.
AllHipHop: That cover art is crazy. What’s the meaning?
yvngxchris: [laughs] Basically, alright so I had the title Virality, so many images popped into my head including one with my head chopped off. With my head decapitated in the forest, it’s been surrounded by many people taking pictures of it amazed at the sighting. I got that idea from Love, Death + Robots, this show on Netflix.
The meaning behind the imagery is the idea that once you become so viral, people forget you’re a real human being. They treat you like a figure, an object. They see you down, going through mental and physical struggles but instead of helping, they’re taking pictures and recording you. It’s the concept that because you’re not human to them, you’re not real to them. When people see celebrities, they don’t connect with them in a relatable way. That’s what I want to work on: connecting and relating with my fans.
AllHipHop: Damn, you’ve experienced that?
yvngxchris: Yeah of course. I feel like every rapper or influencers in general experiences that. You can be down, make some bad mistakes in the public eye and it goes everywhere on social media. People clown you, that’s how social media works.. that’s life if we are being honest. That’s how it’s always been though, I just wanted to point attention to it.
AllHipHop: Love the music video for “QuikkSkope” with DC the Don, that s### is crazy!
yvngxchris: Yeah, that video was hard. I was running late to the video shoot because I missed my flight that same day. “QuikkSkope” was one of my favorite videos I shot with DC the Don. He delivers an amazing performance and is a dope person. I don’t collaborate with many people, but I respect DC because his dedication to the craft and fanbase is crazy. They go hard for him. Plus, he’s a very talented artist and someone I admire in my class.
AllHipHop: How’d y’all tap in?
yvngxchris: I tapped in with DC through someone on my team. My A&R Mont said called me one day during my first time going to LA and asked if I wanted to lock in with DC that very night. Of course I said yeah, f### it, I’ll lock in with him. Once we linked up, he was cool as f### and our chemistry was unmatched. We made this fire song together and I ended up dropping it on my backup Soundcloud page first.
AllHipHop: I know he doesn’t mess with a lot of people too.
yvngxchris: Nah facts, we are definitely very similar in that way. I connect with people who are like minded like myself. No narcissist or ego sh*t, I’m the coolest n*gga to be around. So I like to hang with folks that have similar interests as me.
AllHipHop: Pusha T is your manager. What was the process in dropping the project with him?”
yvngxchris: Nah for sure. When he heard a couple songs off VIRALITY, he told me “yo, this is about to be crazy. This is about to be legendary, the start to a new beginning.” That’s really how I see it truly see it. I didn’t expect nor looking to be some #1 release. I just wanted it to be the start of my story, the start of the yvngxchris story. I’m here for people getting to watch it evolve so when you look back at it a couple years later, you can really say that s###’s legendary.
AllHipHop: How does it feel to have the Lil Yachty song go up? I was at the video shoot and that s### was hilarious.
yvngxchris: Hell yeah. I ain’t gon lie, the Yachty love is crazy. That song is vibey and a groove. After watching him for years, to actually get him on a song was surreal. I watched his come up and evolution. That song ended up being one of my biggest songs, it definitely went up. I appreciate Yachty for that, that sh*t was straight love.
AllHipHop: How’d it feel to graduate this year? You were still in school last time.
yvngxchris: I graduated early so that was cool. You know what’s funny, I never really expected that. I was always getting bad grades, falling asleep in class so to graduate early, it was like whoa, me? (laughs). It was because of my rap career that motivated me to finish up. I’m really blessed to have a prospective career. I think about that every day, I’m blessed.

AllHipHop: I saw you did a backflip at your show, into the crowd. That was wild!
yvngxchris: Word! Yea when I’m on stage, I kick into a different energy. When I’m chillin’, I’m really coolin’. But when I get on stage, I become a different person, a performer. It’s a celebration when I go on stage. After all these years of n*ggas hating, not supporting the music, not turning up, to see everybody in the crowd supporting you is a great feeling, Jumping around, having fun with you, it’s a celebration for the fans and myself. So when I do that, I celebrate by hitting backflips and doing crazy sh*t on stage. I always want my performance to stand out.
AllHipHop: Do you practice something like that? Or was that hella spontaneous?
yvngxchris: Hella spontaneous! I’ve never landed a flip in my life. I used to only flip on the trampoline never in a crowd. I definitely got hurt a couple times, but I would still have adrenaline to keep going. While performing, I don’t feel it, but after the show, my side for sure hurts. Sometimes I think of the crowd as as a trampoline like “they gon’ catch me, f### it. I’m a just jump”. I started with a big crowd, so it was pretty doable and they caught me. I would not recommend doing that in a 200 person crowd if you know what i mean..
AllHipHop: What’re you most excited for next?
yvngxchris: I’m most excited about shooting more videos. Keep the energy going and pushing through each new drop. Artists’ aren’t dropping for the most part, n*ggas are hybernating right now enjoying the holidays. I’m a keep dropping music on them. Showing them my development, show them the dedication. I have the “SERENITY” video dropping soon so, I’m excited for that. The songs I have, experimenting with more genres and sounds, I’m going into all of that and more.
AllHipHop: Anyone else you’d like to collaborate with?
yvngxchris: Yea I definitely want to do more collaborations with DC, Tana (formally Baby Santana), Fazo, the homies. I am still learning about different artists and sounds myself so that’s something I’m consistently working on. I don’t like to collaborate with too many artists unless they’re super talented. I don’t care about popularity, my biggest focus is strictly talent. I want to keep the artistic integrity of my music and who i work with. My fans are my family so they’re suggestions are always good to have as well.
