Breaking legend Adolfo Gutierrez Quiñones—better known as Shabba-Doo or “Ozone” from Breakin’ and Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo—is getting his own street. According to a Facebook post from his son, Vashawn Quiñones, the ceremony goes down at 2 p.m. CT on May 19 on the corner of Wolcott and Ohio in Chicago.
I’m very appreciative and thankful to the city of Chicago for honoring my father,” Vashawn tells AllHipHop. “Thank you to the many fans that keep his legacy alive and well. Shabba-Doo forever.”
As a member of The Original Lockers along with Don “Campbellock” Campbell, Fred “Rerun” Berry and Toni Basil, Shabba-Doo became one of the innovators of the dance style commonly known as locking. He was cast in Breakin’ in1984 and the sequel that same year. Shabba-Doo also served as a choreographer to artists such as Lionel Richie, Madonna and Luther Vandross.
Shabba-Doo died unexpectedly in December 2020, just months after COVID-19 started making its global rampage. In his last Instagram post, the 65-year-old feared he was battling the virus but had just tested negative.
“Good news y’all,” he captioned a photo of himself laying in bed. “I’m feeling all better I’m just a wee bit sluggish from my cold, but the good news is I’m Covid 19 negative! Woo hoo!!! I awoke this morning to a gift from my pal, George ‘DJ 360MIX’ Jett! Thanks man! Anyway, I’m excited lots of catching up to do. Let’s gooo!
“Thank you to everyone for your kind, sweet, and loving get well wishes and thoughts. Oh, I didn’t sleep in my beanie and glasses, lol, I donned them cause my vanity kicked in and didn’t want you to see my bed head, and crusty eyes, haha… Have a great day peeps.”
Sadly, Shabba-Doo didn’t pull through. DJ Premier was among the many mourning Shabba-Doo’s death. As he wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post at the time, “One Of Our Greatest Street Dancers/Choreographer And HIP HOP ICON and Star of the Hit Movie ‘BREAKIN’ As The Character ‘OZONE’ Has Passed. R.I.P. Shabba Doo. Crazy Thing Is He Posted On IG Yesterday That He Was Feeling Better. Your Legacy Will Not Be Forgotten.”
Kevin Hart has revealed Jamie Foxx is “getting better” amid his hospitalisation for an unknown health condition.
The Oscar-winning actor was hospitalised in Atlanta, Georgia after experiencing an undisclosed “medical complication” in mid-April.
Foxx is still believed to be in hospital, but during an interview for the Impaulsive podcast Hart insisted his friend is doing much better.
“I think the dope thing is that he’s getting better in his situation, and everybody’s prayers, everybody’s love, energy, all that stuff is seen and felt,” the “Central Intelligence” actor stated. “I don’t know the details or the exact details as to what’s going on, but to my knowledge, there’s a lot of progression and a world of better.”
Kevin expressed that his “love, synergy, energy” goes out to Foxx as he is someone who is “needed” and “necessary.”
And while Jamie Foxx has not yet publicly spoken about his health scare, he returned to social media on Wednesday.
“Appreciate all the love! Feeling blessed,” the 55-year-old simply posted, without sharing any further information.
Most recently, Foxx had been filming Netflix action comedy “Back in Action.”
Freddie Gibbs is using his signature brand of humor to laugh his way out of his latest controversy. Hours after he started trending on Twitter for allegedly sending a graphic photo to his ex-girlfriend, an adult actress who goes by Destini Creams, he rolled out the jokes. On Saturday (May 6), Gibbs—who’s been nicknamed “Spreadie Gibbs” by the internet—shared several memes to his un-verified Instagram account. He wrote in one of them, “Gotta respect a hoe that eat ass. U got it out the mud b####.”
That was only the tip of the proverbial iceberg. In another post to his Instagram Stories, Gibbs shared a clip of an inmate seemingly referring to some X-Rated material. He wrote at the bottom, “I prefer jelly b####” followed by a laughing emoji.
Gibbs then shared a screenshot of text he received that read: “Don’t pay her no attention. She just got you more attention. I still play Piñata everyday. Deeper is my fav song by you. Anyways, I eat ass and I’m trying to spread them cheeks and go deeper.” Gibbs wrote underneath again, “I prefer jelly, b####.”
Freddie Gibbs’ ex got the ball rolling last week, posting dozens of tweets about their relationship. The woman claimed they were planning on having a child but once she got pregnant, he stopped talking to her. At one point, she said: “Blocking me on twitter while i have a picture of you spreading your a###### in my phone is insane … imma spare them that one though.”
Gibbs’ ex has continued sharing explicit films to her Twitter page while continuing to defend her lifestyle choices as a pregnant woman.
Uh Oh: Boosie Badazz may have some legal issues. The Baton Rouge, Louisiana native was arrested on Saturday (May 6). Records from the San Diego Country Sheriff’s Department suggest strongly he was arrested on gun charges.
At the time of this writing, Boosie has not made any comment. Oh yeah, that’s hard if he’s in jail.
Right now, we don’t know if the rapper has secured bail or resolved the issue quickly. This could be an issue if it is “a felon in possession of a firearm” or something like that. Boosie has a past and this will not bode well for him. He was even staring at a death penalty case in his native land Louisiana on a murder charge. He beat it but still had to do several years. What is crazy is he recently talked positively about being cancer-free.
Afroman was on tour last August when he learned his Ohio home was being raided by local law enforcement. Officers obtained a warrant after getting a tip there were drugs, paraphernalia, money and weapons associated with drug trafficking and kidnapping in his home.
Afroman’s his ex-wife and kids, who live nearby, went over to the residence shortly after the scene started to unfold. She recorded parts of the raid on her phone, while other scenes were captured by Afroman’s security system. No charges came from the search yet Afroman was left with more than $20,000 in damages. He also accused police of stealing more than $5,000 in cash during the raid, which he says were earnings from performances. Needless to say, he was infuriated by the entire situation.
“I wake up for that human leak in the morning and I’m thinking I wanna get home and get back to my life,” Afroman tells AllHipHop. “I’m really not in control of my world until I get home and close the gates to my farm. I hate leaving it even though I’m going to gigs, so I was ready to get home. Then I said my little prayer and I heard something say, ‘Why take a six-hour trip with only three hours worth of sleep?’ Something said go back to sleep.”
Afroman says he woke up just before check-out time, packed up his things and headed out. Along the way, he stopped at Smoothie King. “I got me one of those big Caribbean Waves and life was just good,” he adds. But then his phone started blowing up.
“I get a phone call that the police are everywhere,” he continues. “Now just think about this. What if I would’ve left at six o’clock that morning when I first woke up. I would’ve been home. They would’ve did it to me, man. What was going through my mind was, I was marveling at what I believe to be the navigation of God. God didn’t deliver me from temptation, but he definitely delivered me from the Adams County Sheriff’s Department.”
In true Afroman fashion, he took what could’ve ended in tragedy and turned it into comedy. After posting several surveillance videos of the raid to his Instagram, somebody pointed out one of the officers seemed to zero in on the lemon pound cake sitting on Afroman’s kitchen counter.
“I was angry about the raid,” he says. “But that made me laugh and laugh and laugh. Pretty soon it was a meme and it got like eight million views on TikTok.”
So rather than sulk in anger, Afroman flipped it into a song and video called “Lemon Pound Cake.” Set to The Drifters’ 1964 hit “Under The Boardwalk,” the track makes light of the entire incident. The hook repeats, “Lemon pound cake/He want to put down his glock/Lemon pound cake/Trending on TikTok/Lemon pound cake/He’s a family guy/Lemon pound cake/Got the munchies ’cause he got high.”
But the “Lemon Pound Cake” video and merch Afroman created in response to the violation of his home are now at the center of a lawsuit. In March, seven Adams County police officers filed a lawsuit against the weed-loving rapper, accusing him of causing “emotional distress, embarrassment, ridicule, loss of reputation and humiliation.”
The plaintiffs are seeking all of Afroman’s profits from his use of their personas. That includes proceeds from the songs, music videos and live event tickets, as well as the promotion of the Afroman brand. They also want a court injunction to take down all videos and posts containing their personas.
“These guys kicked out my door,” he says. “What? You think I’m not gonna sing about it? All that money kicked down the door. That money was chasing me down the hallway with my tablet. I couldn’t write it fast enough.”
Despite the lawsuit and its potential outcome, Afroman believes he already won: “I was not going to let them beat my ass like Rodney King.” Afroman will have to go to court in the near future, but that hasn’t deterred him.
“I’m still selling it,” he says with a chuckle. “I hope this case goes on for like 15 years. I’m gonna kick the can as long as I can. I’ll be advertising more. It’s funny. They run up my house with guns and my kids are looking at these men who can destroy me and my response is a rap tape. That makes me feel really weak.
“But when they sued me, I realized my rap tape had more power than their AR-15 and their sheriff badges. They dropped their guns. They crying. I’m beating these cops up. They got stress. You got loss of reputation? You’re the first to know. I’m making another song. I don’t know if I’m going to call it ‘Lemon Pound Cake 2’ or ‘A Lawsuit.’ We about to play with all these things.”
https://www.instagram.com/p/CqQAxZ2Dkdf/?hl=en
As for how all of this started, Afroman believes it has to do with a woman he used to mess around with.
“I think this girl I had affairs with got in trouble and told them a bunch of exaggerations,” he says. “I’m hearing rumors of rumors. Somebody gotta start telling something. What I’m hearing is this girl was telling them I had girls up in my house like R. Kelly. I got a little farmhouse. It’s kinda pimped out, but I don’t got no dungeons. I’m too high and lazy to do that much work. They lucky I painted the place, you know? I’m like get outta here. I’m not one of those rappers.”
Check back with AllHipHop soon for Part II of the Afroman exclusive.
Fu Banga, born Fuguan Lovick, attempted to get an early release for a shooting incident at the Barclays Center, but a judge shot him down.
The incident occurred amidst a feud between 6ix9ine and Casanova. As an associate of the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods, Fu Banga found himself in the middle of the conflict.
On April 21, 2018, Fu Banga and six other gang members, including 6ix9ine, attended a boxing match at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. 6ix9ine was scheduled to perform the entrance song for a boxer that night.
While in a hallway, the group encountered the massive entourage of rival rapper Casanova, who was part of a different Bloods set. It was then that Fu Banga drew a gun from his shoe and fired it over the heads of the rival gang, causing pandemonium.
Following his arrest on May 6, 2018, Fu Banga pleaded guilty to violent crime in aid of racketeering and firearm possession in furtherance of violent crime.
On February 12, 2020, he received a sentence of 84 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
Fu Banga contended that his conviction for committing a violent crime in aid of racketeering did not qualify as a crime of violence because he fired the gun above the heads of the rival gang without causing any injury or death.
However, the judge disagreed, ruling that his liability was based on whether he “intentionally placed or attempted to place another person in reasonable fear of physical injury … by displaying a deadly weapon.”
During his plea hearing, he admitted to these actions and conceded that his conduct constituted an assault, so Judge Paul Engelmayer rejected the request to shave some time off of Fu Banga’s seven-year sentence.
Fu Banga is the latest gangster trying to wiggle out of a lengthy prison sentence, thanks to 6ix9ine’s cooperation with the feds.
Ellison believes that 6ix9ine’s criminal activities played a significant role in provoking the kidnapping and should be considered an extraordinary and compelling reason for a sentence modification.
Chris Brown reportedly had another altercation, this time at the Lovers & Friends Festival in Las Vegas on Saturday (May 6). In videos circulating online, Brown is surrounded by a group of people as he shouts at someone. He repeats, “I got it, I got it” and appears to brush off somebody trying to hold him back.
The situation is tense and looks like it could turn physical at any moment. The clip was purportedly taken during Missy Elliott’s headlining set. There are no further details on what exactly sparked the melee.
Chris Brown gets into a physical altercation during Missy Elliott’s set at the “Lovers & Friends” concert, a day after he allegedly jumped Usher. pic.twitter.com/0K3wXBlbTJ
The confrontation comes just hours after Chris Brown and Usher allegedly got into a heated argument. The two were at the Skate Rock City roller rink in Las Vegas, where Brown was celebrating his 34th birthday. According to TMZ, Brown grew angry after Teyana Taylor supposedly ignored him at the party. An argument ensued and Usher attempted to intervene. Brown reportedly stomped off to his bus with Usher close behind. There, Brown and his entourage allegedly left Usher with a bloody nose.
Contrary to the report, Usher appeared on video the following day looking unscathed. Chris Brown also turned up at the Lovers & Friends event, which was founded by Usher, suggesting there was no bad blood between them.
Mozzy has been released from a California prison, 10 months after turning himself in on federal gun charges. According to USP Atwater inmate records, Mozzy concluded his sentence on Thursday (May 4). No additional details surrounding his release were available.
Mozzy, whose real name is Timothy Patterson, was indicted in 2021. He pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in July 2022 and was sentenced to one year in prison along with a $55,000 fine. He was initially expected to be released in July.
“Life comes at you fast,” he said at the time. “Sometimes s### gets real and you gotta take that deal. It’ll get slimy out here. Appreciate my loved ones. Chin up, chest out. Love you the most.”
Mozzy signed a deal with Yo Gotti’s label CMG in 2022. He contributed to multiple tracks on the CMG compilation Gangsta Art and followed up with Survivor’s Guilt, his first solo album for the label.
Legal issues have plagued Mozzy for years. Between 2005 and 2008, he was arrested three times by the Sacramento Police for possession crimes, including illegal possession of a firearm and evading police. He was arrested again in 2014 and served a sentence in San Quentin State Prison. After his release, Mozzy decided to focus solely on his music, releasing four solo albums in 2015. He was unable to leave the state of California until 2017 due to probation. Mozzy was also arrested during a traffic stop in Las Vegas for gun possession in 2018.
Mozzy has yet to address his two million Instagram followers. His last post arrived on April 7.
Chance the Rapper is willing to collaborate with Peppa Pig to make his daughters happy.
During an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, host Seth asked the rapper whether his daughters Kensli, seven, and Marli, three, enjoy his music.
“Yeah, they do like my music. They’re really, they’re more into, like, Peppa Pig and their contemporaries,” he smiled. “But, like, I have a few songs that they’ll listen to.”
Chance went on to note that his children, whom he shares with his wife Kirsten Corley, like his 2019 track “Let’s Go on the Run’ “a lot” but he has to be quite careful “when I’m picking my songs for my kids” due to the content.
Later, Seth questioned Chance whether he would consider teaming up with the beloved cartoon character Peppa “in a desperate attempt to gain (the) affection” of his girls.
“Peppa, if you’re listening right now, like, I’m trying to work or at least get some autographs for my kids. Shoutout to Peppa Pig,” the 30-year-old laughed.
Elsewhere in the chat, Chance reflected on the 10-year anniversary of his mixtape “Acid Rap” and recalled how he performed shows in high school parking lots in Chicago before he became famous.
Biggie said it best, “It’s all good, baby baby! For a second there, I thought we were going to have to go looking for Chris Brown! I know he’s a made man now, but we cannot have anybody putting hands on Usher. I am not sure if he got a bloody nose or not, but if he did, he took it like a champ.
On Saturday, Chris Brown took the stage at the Lovers & Friends festival in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he performed, despite the allegation that he was involved in an altercation with the night before. URSH appeared unscathed and in good spirits. I think he saying “What What?” in his own R&B way.
Chris Breezy celebrated his 34th birthday the day before, did not show any signs that anything happened either. Maybe nothing happened? I don’t know. Other artists who performed at the festival included Da Brat, Lil’ Kim, Jhene Aiko, Boyz II Men, Pitbull, Nelly, and Miguel.
There was no question who owned the stage. Usher pulled up in an all-black, leather ensemble and oval-shaped black-framed sunglasses. Usher appeared unwounded af up there and smiled for the camera every chance he could. This included selfies.
Da Brat managed to get everybody’s attention. She is expecting a baby with her wife Jesseca ‘Judy’ Harris-Dupart! Da Brat showed off the ol’ baby bump in a Chicago Bulls jersey the belly part cut out.
Late music icon Prince will have a stretch of highway named after him in his home state of Minnesota.
Minnesota senators voted on Thursday to rename a seven-mile stretch of the Minnesota State Highway 5 to Prince Rogers Nelson Memorial Highway after the late Purple Rain singer.
The section runs past Prince’s former Paisley Park home and studio and through the Minneapolis suburbs of Chanhassen and Eden Prairie.
After the Senate voted in favour of the proposal, the bill was passed onto Governor Tim Walz, who is expected to sign it.
Senator Julia Coleman, the bill’s lead sponsor, told her fellow politicians, “Prince was a true genius, a visionary artist who pushed the boundaries of music and cultures in ways that will never be forgotten. His influence can be heard in the work of countless musicians who came after him, and his legacy continues to inspire new generations of artists to this day.”
The bill also proposed that the signs marking the highway be painted purple.
According to Coleman, the singer’s friends and fans are footing the costs of the name change.
Prince Rogers Nelson passed away in April 2016 at the age of 57. His Paisley Park complex in Chanhassen is now a museum, event space and recording studio run by his estate.
Diddy honored the late André Leon Talley with his dramatic look for the 2023 Met Gala.
The Hip-Hop mogul, also known as Sean Love Combs, stepped out in a black suit and matching cape studded with floral motifs at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
Taking to Instagram after the annual fashion bash, Diddy explained that he wanted to pay homage to André, who was known for wearing capes and robes to events, with the Sean John Couture ensemble.
In addition, he included a tribute to the late Karl Lagerfeld in the outfit, which was particularly poignant as the Met Gala had the theme “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.”
And while walking the red carpet, Diddy told Vogue that he learned a lot from Chanel designer Karl when he was working on his Sean John fashion brand.
“I got a chance to spend time with Karl when I was designing Sean John, just as a fellow designer. And he was so creative, and he had so much attention to detail,” the 53-year-old added.
André died at the age of 73 in 2022, while Karl passed away at the age of 85 in 2019.
Jack Harlow is launching his own philanthropic foundation.
The “First Class” rapper announced the establishment of The Jack Harlow Foundation.
As part of the project, Harlow plans to offer aid to people in need in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky.
“The launch of my foundation is represented by gifts to four organizations that I believe are doing the work of making Louisville a better place; helping under-resourced families remove obstacles to higher education, supporting a new start in a neighborhood that has been lacking investment, giving hands-on assistance to the poorest of the poor, and making safe housing affordable for families,” he said in a statement.
To begin, officials at Harlow’s organization will offer aid to Adelante Hispanic Achievers, Centro Latino, Russell: A Place of Promise, and Sponsor 4 Success.
Reflecting on the initiative, the star noted that giving back to those in Louisville represents a dream he has of “making a difference.”
“With all I have done and will do in my career, my home is where my heart is, my refuge, and the place that shaped me,” the 25-year-old added. “My vision is to make Louisville a better place. Know that this is just the start of my philanthropic legacy and I look forward to transforming our community and, as a result, the success and happiness of its citizens.”
The news comes a week after Harlow dropped his third studio album, Jackman.
Common and Jennifer Hudson were photographed canoodling in her suburban Chicago neighborhood on Thursday (May 4). The romance between the two stars appears to be getting serious after first being spotted together in February. As noted by TMZ, the couple walked arm-in-arm for more than 90 minutes, looking as happy as ever.
Hudson typically shoots her syndicated talk show from Los Angeles, but the Writer’s Strike has allowed her to take a break. Common, who’s a Chicago native, clearly doesn’t mind.
Not only are Common and Jennifer Hudson at ease together, but they've also started to act like a long-term married couple who go on romantic walks in the middle of the day. pic.twitter.com/fGUnavA6hg
— My Life In The CHI (@mylifeinthechi) May 6, 2023
Common has been romantically linked to Erykah Badu, Taraji P. Henson, Angela Rye and Serena Williams over the years. More recently, he was coupled up with comedian Tiffany Haddish. They dated for year before calling it quits in November 2021. Subsequently, Hudson’s fans are concerned about their relationship.
On March 13, Hudson shared a photo of herself with Common, asking her fans to wish him a happy birthday. Instead, she was met with comments such as “you’re too good for him” and he’s “emotionally unavailable.”
Haddish was particularly vocal after their split. Common’s team claimed they broke up due to scheduling conflicts. Haddish countered, “I was disappointed. I was very disappointed. I was like, ‘Oh, OK. ‘Cause that’s not what you told me, but OK.’ He might be the type of person that never really settles with somebody. Maybe he’s like, you know, like a bee going from flower to flower to flower. I don’t know. I wish him nothing but joy and happiness, you know. He will always be cool.”
Hudson, meanwhile, split with her son’s father David Otunga in 2017 after a decade together. The messy breakup included restraining orders, emergency protection orders and allegations he had violated a confidentiality agreement.
R&B singer and philanthropist Usher Raymond IV may not be talking about his altercation with Chris Brown, but his son is having a ball toying with the prying media trying to get the scoop.
Usher Raymond V, 15, posted a meme to Usher’s story that said, “Don’t message me about it…”
He followed that one up with “Lookin’ Ahhh,” before pulling both of them down and saying, “Lemme stop playin” with the crying emoji.
After an alleged altercation with Teyana Taylor, where Usher tried to step in to diffuse the drama, the “Yo” singer seemed to get frustrated, leave the venue, and waited to jump his big brother.
Machine Gun Kelly has been noticeably more rock than rap these days, but he’s never above starting (or engaging in) a good old fashioned rap beef. Days after Jack Harlow dropped his new album, Jackman, in which he proclaims to be the second best rapper behind Eminem, MGK is back.
On Saturday (May 6), Machine Gun Kelly dropped a new single called “Renegade Freestyle,” which finds the lanky rapper spitting over JAY-Z’s 2001 single “Renegade” featuring Eminem. Of course, Eminem and MGK famously beefed in 2018 following the release of Shady’s Kamikaze album, so the beat selection was clearly intentional. At one point, MGK takes a swipe at Harlow and accuses him of being a biter.
“Make sure there’s no confusion,” he spits. “I’m a great white, I can eat their barracudas […] I see why they call you Jackman/You jack man’s whole swag /Give Drake his flow back man.”
Harlow’s claims arrived on the song “They Don’t Love It.” He raps: “The hardest white boy since the one who rapped about vomit and sweaters/And hold the comments ’cause I promise you I’m honestly better than whoever came to your head right then.”
The line sparked a debate on Twitter, with thousands of people weighing in on the Kentucky native’s lyrics. As a result, Eminem, Paul Wall and Mac Miller became trending topics.
“Any discussion of best white rappers without Paul Wall is void,” one person said. Another added, “Jack Harlow hasn’t in his life dropped a song that slaps harder than Paul Wall’s Sittin’ Sidewayz. #CutThatShitOut.”
After years of incarceration, the Louisiana State Conference of the NAACP has decided to throw its support and resources behind, rapper Corey “C-Murder” Miller.
The civil rights organization, founded in 1909 by W. E. B. Du Bois, Mary White Ovington, Moorfield Storey, and Ida B. Wells, will work closely with attorney Benjamin Crump and Ronald Haley Jr. to help bring the artist to justice, almost 15 years later.
C-Murder, the brother of Master P, has been in jail since his 2009 murder conviction, a crime he has maintained his innocence.
According to the press release from the chapter, posted on C-Murder’s Instagram page on Thursday, May 4, “The NAACP Louisiana State Conference is proud to announce that Eugene Collins, President of the NAACP Baton Rouge Branch, will be taking on a special assignment and joining Corey Miller’s team in advocating for his innocence. President Collins will be working with FFO Investigations, led by Ms. Kasandra Washington.”
AllHipHop.com reports the No Limit soldier was convicted of murder in 2009 and has been serving a life sentence at the Louisiana Department of Corrections.
The civil rights organization states, “There is significant doubt about the fairness of his trial, along with evidence that suggests his innocence.”
C-Murder’s management team said, “Collins and the NAACP are committed to fighting for justice and equality for all, and we believe that Corey Miller deserves a fair trial and the chance to prove his innocence. Eugene Collins has joined Corey Miller’s team, and we are proud to have him as an advocate along with the NAACP.”
President Michael McClanahan, NAACP LSC, said he wanted to urge the “public and the justice system” to review the evidence more closely and to recognize, despite C-Murder’s high celebrity, he deserves a “fair trial.”
“We believe that justice will prevail and that Corey Miller will be exonerated. We will continue to work tirelessly to support Corey Miller’s legal team and raise awareness about his case,” McClanahan stated. “We appreciate your support and ask that you join us in advocating for justice and equality for all.”
The “My Life” artist said via statement “While [in] quarantined, the inmates are on constant lockdown and are not allowed to leave the dorm to receive fresh air.”
“The tests that they provide are not up to standard and they are giving many erroneous results,” he continued. “There are many inmates that have ailments that were not properly treated and as a result, have died after contracting the virus. The families of these men need to investigate their deaths due to improper treatment and neglect.”
Chris Brown and Usher reportedly got into a physical altercation on Friday night (May 5)—and now, there’s video evidence of an argument. In a clip obtained byTMZ, Brown and Usher are at the Skate Rock City roller rink in Las Vegas, where Brown was celebrating his 34th birthday. It sounds like Brown shouts, “Shut the f### up” in the clip, but it’s unclear exactly what the longtime friends are saying.
The bad blood allegedly boiled over after Teyana Taylor, who was also at the event, ignored Brown. Eyewitnesses said Brown was clearly offended and began yelling at her. Usher attempted to intervene but failed to calm him down. Brown—who was said to be “intoxicated”—reportedly called Usher a “coward” before returning to his bus. Usher followed him in an effort to talk things out, and that’s when Brown and his entourage allegedly physically attacked him. An insider claimed Usher was left with a bloody nose.
Lil Tjay, who was nearly killed at a New Jersey restaurant last summer, was arrested on gun charges this week. According to Daily Voice, an arrest warrant was issued for the 22-year-old rapper on April 14 in connection to the shooting. Lil Tjay was taken into custody by prosecutor’s detectives Friday (May 5) and charged with three counts of illegal weapons possession. He was subsequently booked at Bergen County Jail but released just hours later.
Lil Tjay had just returned from a world tour that had taken him to cities such as London, Paris and Berlin when he turned himself in. He posted several photos from his trip, including a handful from Paris. He tweeted, “If you escaped what I escaped, you’d be in Paris getting f##** up too!!”
If you escaped what I escaped, you’d be in Paris getting f##** up too!! 🤷🏾♂️🍻 pic.twitter.com/qIFM6FKPDg
Lil Tjay underwent emergency surgery after he was shot outside the Chipotle restaurant in the Shops at City Place on River Road in Edgewater in June 2022. He was airlifted to Hackensack University Medical Center with seven gunshot wounds. Police say he had three handguns hidden in his car at the time of what was believed to be a botched robbery.
A friend of Lil Tjay’s, Antoine Boyd, also took a bullet in the back. He drove to an Exxon station about a mile up River Road before he was discovered by police. He and another Bronx member of the entourage, Jeffrey Valdez, were both charged with illegal gun possession.
The accused shooter, Mohamed Konate, was arrested in NYC the same night. He was ultimately extradited to New Jersey and has remained at Bergen County Jail. He’s been charged with multiple counts of attempted murder as well as armed robbery and weapons offenses.
Lil Tjay has a history of carrying weapons. In 2021, he and Boyd were arrested after New York City police said they found them and three other men with four loaded pistols in a Cadillac SUV.
Usher reportedly hosted a big birthday bash for Chris Rock at Skate Rock City in Las Vegas on Friday (May 5).
What would happen next, nobody could guess. A Foo Fight allegedly broke out between the crew or Brown himself that left our beloved Usher reportedly bloody.
The birthday celebration began on a positive note but according to a reliable source, the situation took a turn for the worse later in the evening. It was revealed Brown, without any apparent reason, acted in a disrespectful manner toward Teyana Taylor. The source explained Brown appeared visibly intoxicated when he first approached her. Despite attempts from several guests, including Usher, to mediate and calm the situation, things escalated. At some point amidst the chaos, Brown allegedly insulted Usher, referring to him as a “coward,” before abruptly leaving the venue. The conflict spilled over outside, with Usher following Brown onto his bus in an attempt to talk to the “Run It” artist.
Shockingly, things took a drastic turn as Brown and his entourage allegedly physically attacked the renowned R&B singer. According to the insider, the alleged assault was severe, leaving Usher with a bloody nose. As of now, neither Brown, Usher or Taylor have addressed or clarified this report. Earlier in the day, Brown seemed to be in high spirits and ready to enjoy the festivities, as evidenced by his social media post stating, “I better get Cinco de fk’d tonight.”
