Cam’ron Responds To Claims He Dissed Melyssa Ford By Wearing Jeans Featuring Her Face

Cam’ron and Melyssa Ford ended 2023 with an unexpected feud between the rapper-turned-podcaster and the model-turned-podcaster. Some internet users suspected the Dipset leader carried that rivalry into 2024 with another dig at Ford.

Jermaine Dupri recently shared an Instagram video featuring Cam’ron on the set of the It Is What It Is sports talk show. The clip showed Cam wearing a pair of jeans with a woman’s face on the crotch.

Social media users recognized Melyssa Ford’s likeness on Cam’ron’s pants. However, the “Oh Boy” hitmaker is denying the ex-video vixen is the person featured on his outfit.

“Thx @jermainedupri @nelly for joining the show. @itiswhatitis_talk please come back soon!! Also, I’ve been seeing a lot of blogs. Y’all have the wrong idea. The person on my pants is not who y’all think it is. This lady’s name is Carol. [man Shrugging emoji, shushing face emoji],” Cam wrote on Instagram.

Despite the denial, the photo on Cam’ron’s pants seems to be a screenshot of Melyssa Ford from The Joe Budden Podcast. Back on November 17, 2023, Ford posted the same picture of herself on her Instagram page.

The public animosity between Cam’ron and Melyssa Ford began last year. During an episode of The Joe Budden Podcast, Ford questioned if Cam and his It Is What It Is co-host Ma$e slept with underage girls. That insinuation of criminal activities came after the “Horse & Carriage” collaborators told a story about “gang-banging” sex workers in the 1990s.

Ford apologized to Cam’ron but that did not stop the Harlem-bred MC from firing back at the former Blood, Sweat & Heels reality show star. Cam responded, “I told the b#### ‘don’t touch me’ when we took this pic. F### you and ya apology!!”

He also threatened to file a lawsuit against Melyssa Ford and The Joe Budden Podcast. The Crime Pays album creator stated, “Now if I sue y’all n##### for defamation of character, I’m a sucker. Well, I might be a sucker, I just might be. I don’t know yet. I’m thinking about it, pause.”

Aubrey O’Day Catches Heat For Using MLK Quotes To Promote Her OnlyFans

The United States celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday (January 15). Aubrey O’Day used the occasion to direct social media users to check out her OnlyFans content.

“‘Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.’ – Martin Luther King Jr.,” O’Day wrote on her Instagram page. She used the quote as the caption for a photo/video carousel.

Aubrey O’Day’s post included six images of her, some of which featured seductive poses. She also used several slides to directly promote her OnlyFans subscription page. In one clip, O’Day twerked to the camera and slapped her bare behind.

The MLK Day promotion for the former Danity Kane member’s OnlyFans generated mixed reactions online. Some Aubrey O’Day supporters praised the pictures. However, critics slammed her for incorporating the late Civil Rights icon’s legacy with her sexually suggestive advertising.

“When I look at these pics, Martin Luther King’s moving speeches from 1964 are exactly what I think of,” one person sarcastically typed in O’Day’s Instagram comment section. Another person commented, “This is NOT it, sis. Show some respect.”

As social media users slammed her MLK caption, Aubrey O’Day reposted a pop culture podcaster’s Instagram Story post applauding her “Hitchhiker” single to her own Instagram Story. Peter Panos claimed, “@aubreyoday’s solo music was so good and ahead of [its] time!” O’Day added a heart hand emoji and a kiss mark emoji.

Boosie Badazz Calls Cap On Lil Nas X’s Apology To Christians: “I Bet He Wouldn’t Do This To Jews”

Boosie Badazz refuses to let up on Lil Nas X. The Baton Rouge native has once again shared his thoughts on the controversial recording artist.

Lil Nas X faced significant backlash for his “Christian era” rollout for his new “J Christ” single. In particular, several celebrities took issue with the 24-year-old entertainer dressing up as Jesus Christ.

Following the negative reactions to his Jesus cosplay, Lil Nas X took to social media to apologize for some of his antics. He specifically addressed a TikTok post where he spoofed the Holy Communion.

“I did not mean it as a cannibalism thing or whatever the freak. But I do apologize for that. I will say I’m sorry for that. That was overboard,” Lil Nas admitted.

Lil Nas X also said, “I do want my Christian fans to know that I am not against you. I was put on this Earth to bring people closer together and promote love. That’s who I am. I’m not like some evil, demon guy trying to destroy everybody’s values.”

Boosie Badazz was not buying the Montero album creator’s mea culpa. The 41-year-old southerner commented about the apology in an Instagram comment section.

“He [is] lying. He [knows] what he [is] doing!! I bet he wouldn’t do this to Jews. [hundred points emoji] He’s going to hell,” Boosie wrote. Previously, the “Wipe Me Down” hitmaker blasted Lil Nas X for his “J Christ” song.

Boosie Badazz and Lil Nas X have been feuding for years. The bad blood began when Boosie criticized BET for allowing Lil Nas to kiss a male dancer at the 2021 BET Awards.

Additionally, Boosie threatened to assault Lil Nas X for the on-stage lip-lock. He even called the openly gay musician a “f#####” and suggested the Georgia-raised rhymer should commit suicide.

Lil Nas X’s “J Christ” has seen mixed results as far as immediate commercial success on DSPs. The song’s music video is currently trending at No. 2 in YouTube’s music section. In contrast, it only debuted at No. 53 on Spotify’s Daily Top Songs USA chart.

U.K. Drill Artist Bandokay Tells Fans “Keep Holding Me Down” Amid Gun Possession Arrest Rumors

Bandokay of North London drill collective OFB has sent a message to his fans amid speculation he’s behind bars after being arrested for gun possession.

The mother of his child shared a short recording of the rapper on her Instagram Story.

“I just want to say sorry to my fans,” Bandokay says on the recording. “I feel like I let you lot down. I’ll be home soon. You lot been with me from the beginning of my journey and we’re not stopping now. Tell my fans just keep holding me down, don’t switch up. Same for my family and friends.”

She also shared a video of the rapper as a bailiff escorted him out of the courtroom.

Official details of his arrest are scant, with rumors swirling that cops nabbed Bandokay for gun possession. The OFB rapper is the son of Mark Duggan, whose killing at the hands of British police in 2011 sparked riots in London that spread across the country.

Bandokay was previously tried for his alleged role in a knife fight at London’s world-famous Selfridges department store. His uncle Marlon Duggan was cleared of violent disorder after he claimed he was acting as a peacekeeper during the incident.

The jury was unable to reach a verdict against Bandokay. Fellow OFB member Double Lz, real name Andre Deer, was convicted of violent disorder.

Bandokay’s current legal woes are believed to be unrelated to the Selfridges incident.

“Martin” Cast Reunites At 2024 Emmy Awards [VIDEO]

Martin Lawrence, Tisha Campbell, Tichina Arnold and Carl Anthony Payne II got back together for a special segment at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards on Monday (January 16).

The cast members from the 1990s sitcom Martin helped present the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series at the ceremony. Jeremy Allen White (The Bear) took home the trophy.

Lawrence, Campbell, Payne II and Arnold appeared on a recreated Martin set. The skit centered around the fact that the Fox series never received an Emmy win during its original run from 1994-1997.

“We’re finally about to get an Emmy! Yeah, we’re getting our Emmy tonight!” Carl Anthony Payne II joked. “Matter of fact, I got my speech on deck too.”

In addition, Tisha Campbell said that the television classic should have won an Emmy Award. Her co-stars co-signed that sentiment before Emmy Awards host Anthony Anderson entered the scene.

Martin aired for five seasons on Fox. The program also starred the late Thomas Mikal Ford. Garrett Morris, Tracy Morgan, Charlie Murphy, David Alan Grier, Yo-Yo and Kim Coles played supporting/recurring roles.

While Martin Lawrence’s comedy did not win an Emmy Award, the show did win a People’s Choice Award and several NAACP Image Awards. It also became a syndication hit for multiple networks.

Drake Fires Back At Mos Def For Saying His Music Is Pop—Not Hip-Hop

Mos Def had the Hip-Hop world talking in recent days. His take on Drake’s music became a trending topic on social media. Drizzy has now responded to the MC also known as Yasiin Bey.

“Drake is pop to me, in the sense like, if I was in Target in Houston and I heard a Drake song, it feels like a lot of his music is compatible with shopping,” Mos Def said in a recent interview with The Cutting Room Floor podcast.

The “Umi Says” rapper went on to add that Drake’s music is “likeable” before laughing with the show’s host. Many social media users accused Mos Def of dissing the OVO Sound leader. Apparently, Drake felt the same way.

“What umi say again? Lemme shine my light, king, don’t switch up now,” Drake wrote on his Instagram Story in response to Mos Def’s viral comments. The post also included a video of Method Man discussing Hip-Hop.

In the clip, Method Man states, “Hip-Hop is a culture. It’s a way of life, it’s the way you dress, the way you talk, the way you walk. It’s the break dancing, the rhymes, the stage show.”

Drake has faced criticism about his place in Hip-Hop since the beginning of his career. Some rap fans have challenged the former Degrassi: The Next Generation star’s authenticity. Ghostwriting allegations have also followed the music superstar since his 2015 feud with Meek Mill.

Despite that criticism, Drake has become one of the most commercially successful acts of the last twenty years. The 37-year-old Canadian has 13 No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and 13 No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 chart. He also has five diamond-certified songs.

Wack 100 Blames Chrisean Rock For Blueface Going To Jail: “She’s The Reason Why He’s In There”

Chrisean Rock was seen supporting Blueface as he reportedly turned himself into jail for a probation violation last week, but his manager says she’s the reason he’s locked up in the first place.

On Monday (January 15), a new video surfaced featuring the former couple and their baby Chrisean Rock Jr. The MILF Music founder’s manager Wack 100 is also seen in the clip talking to Blue’s legal team.

The footage was widely circulated, with many on social media praising Chrisean Rock for supporting Blueface despite their ongoing issues.

However, Wack 100 called cap on the suggestion, claiming Rock was only there for the cameras. He also blamed the rapper and reality TV star for the “Thotiana” rapper’s incarceration.

“CAP JUST A CLOUT MOVE,” Wack 100 wrote on Instagram. “SHES THE REASON WHY HES IN THERE. KNOCKOFF THE CAP.”

Blueface’s mom, Karlissa Saffold, also blamed Rock and Jaidyn Alexis for being the reason her son is in jail.

“My baby is in jail and my heart is broken again,” she wrote in part on her Instagram Story following reports that Blueface handed himself in. “Because they don’t listen…If I’m lying tell them to tell why he in there. Because it all could have been avoided. Especially knowing who he is and that he was on probation when BM #1 threw a glass at security and BM #2 hit a fan.”

Blueface is reportedly behind bars at Men’s Central Jail in Los Angeles. According to XXL, he will remain there until July 2, 2024.

Chrisean Rock Claims Diddy “Jacked Up” Zeus Network CEO Warning Him: “Don’t Play With Her”

Chrisean Rock claimed Diddy snatched up Zeus Network CEO Lemuel “Lenny” Plummer during one of the Hip-Hop mogul’s private parties.

The rapper and reality TV star recalled attending the event with Plummer, where she met Diddy. The pair then later snuck into his VIP section. According to Rock, the Bad Boy founder roughed up the executive while passionately endorsing her.  She claims Plummer told Diddy: “You met Chrisean, you gave her a kiss on the cheek earlier on in the party. We just want to follow up. uh I’m glad you f### with Chrisean.”

However, Rock says that’s when Diddy “grabbed Lenny by his neck,” before repeatedly warning him.

“But do you f### with Chrisean? Don’t play with her,” she recalled Diddy saying while holding on to Plummer. “All she need is love.”

Rock claimed that after the altercation, her Crazy In Love reality show checks began “coming back short.” She also accused Zeus of putting people on the show she has “street beef with.”

“I’m so happy you got jacked up for that s### already,” she added.

Over the weekend, Chrisean Rock aired out her issues with Plummer and Zeus Network. She refused to return to Baddies and claimed Black women in reality shows are underpaid.

However, she claimed that she’s making money and earns roughly $1 million weekly from Snapchat.

“I make like roughly $22,000/$23,000 every four, five hours on Snapchat,” she said during an Instagram Live chat. “That’s why you see all the celebrities back on Snapchat because they been paying us to get back on there because I guess Snapchat trying to not go out of business.”

Meanwhile, Plummer took to Instagram denying he got “jacked up” by Diddy, adding that the mogul has “more pressing issues” to attend to. ” We tried,” he added. “Wishing Chrisean all the best.”

A post shared by Cierra Nichole 💕 (@piink__bombshell)

“Au’mei Moon Roberts,” she wrote, revealing her daughter’s name. “Happy 2 months to Mommies 3rd Beautiful Princess of the Castle.”

Although Nichole said nothing about the father, many in the comment section congratulated Rick Ross on his new baby. She even added a “Thank you [smiling emoji]” to one person who wrote, “Congrats to you and Rick Ross new bundle of joy.”

While Rick Ross has neither confirmed nor denied paternity of Nichole’s child, his new girlfriend Cristina Mackey shared the baby on her Instagram Stories. “She’s Gorgeous,” she wrote alongside Nichole’s photo of the baby.

However, Cierra Nichole clapped back on her Stories, sharing Mackey’s post and accusing her of clout chasing.

“It’s giving STRANGER DANGER,” she wrote. “Babie we don’t know YOU! Play with someone else for clout.”

Over the weekend, Mackey traded words with Tia Kemp, the mother of the MMG honcho’s son. Kemp fired off on the couple in a lengthy rant and claimed Rick Ross has not one new baby, but two.

“He got 15 hoes,” Kemp said of Rick Ross. “She didn’t know that. He got 10 children, two of them probably not even a month old.”

50 Cent Mocks Diddy For Ditching 2024 Grammys: “They Not Gonna Give You No Trophy”

50 Cent is back to mocking his longtime rival Diddy amid the multiple sexual misconduct allegations against the Bad Boy Records founder.

Fiddy took to Instagram to share his thoughts on a report about Diddy turning down an invite to the 2024 Grammy Awards while battling sexual assault lawsuits.

“Wait puff I think you should go,” 50 Cent wrote in the caption alongside a laughing emoji.

The Hip-Hop mogul was nominated for Best Progressive R&B Album for 2023’s The Love Album: Off The Grid. The nod marks Diddy’s first since 2016 when he was nominated in the Best Rap Song category for “All Day.” His last win was in 2003 for Best Rap Performance By A Duo or Group for “Shake Ya Tailfeather” alongside Nelly and Murphy Lee.

50 Cent believes Diddy will lose anyway. He added, “They not gonna give you no trophy. LMAO get the f### outta here.”

The Grammys haven’t revoked Diddy’s nomination despite the accusations. Nonetheless, a rep for Diddy told The Hollywood Reporter he’s skipping the ceremony this year.

Several women have accused Diddy of sexual misconduct over the past few months. His former partner of 10 years, Cassie Ventura, was the first filing a bombshell lawsuit accusing Diddy of rape and years of abuse. They swiftly settled the suit less than 24 hours later.

At least three other women have filed lawsuits against Diddy. The most recent came from a Jane Doe plaintiff who accused Diddy of gang rape and sex trafficking. The victim said she was 17 years old at the time of the alleged assault in 2003.

Yung Miami may be taking Sexyy Red’s#### single “F##k My Baby Daddy” literally based on her recent encounter with the father of her child, Southside.

Over the weekend, footage of the pair hanging out in the club and catching a vibe made rounds all over social media. And it wasn’t like the Yung Miami and Southside were in different parts of the section—in fact, they were glued to each other’s hip the entire time. Saweetie & YG Reportedly Break Up—Fans Weigh In On Their Split

Saweetie and YG’s relationship ended in a matter of months. The couple reportedly had an amicable breakup as word of their split hit gossip outlets on Monday (January 15).

The rappers sparked dating rumors when they were seen together at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April 2023. A month later, Saweetie and YG confirmed the social media chatter when paparazzi captured their public displays of affection on a vacation in Mexico.

Saweetie and YG’s relationship seemingly managed to avoid much public scrutiny for the rest of the year. But a report of their breakup emerged right after Saweetie became the subject of new dating rumors on social media.

Fans started speculating about Saweetie being romantically involved with Chris Brown over the weekend. The two sat next to each other in the front row at a USC basketball game.

Saweetie hasn’t explicitly mentioned her breakup with YG, but she may have alluded to it on Instagram Stories.

“God movin quick this year,” she wrote.

Saweetie fans are stuck focusing on her personal life as they continue waiting on her debut album Pretty B#### Music. The project still doesn’t have a release despite years of teases. She explained the delay in a 2023 interview with E! News.

“I’ve been through a lot of interesting experiences,” Saweetie said. “So, I wanna put that all into my album in the most artistic and organic way.

She added, “I feel like a debut album is not something you just put out. It’s not something you play with. I’m a Cancer so I like to overthink sometimes, but I think you have to be really careful with that and I take my art really serious.”

Juice WRLD Fans Disgusted Over Ex-Girlfriend’s Alleged Sex Tape Leak

Juice WRLD fans are chastising his former girlfriend Ally Lotti for allegedly leaking the late artist’s sex tape on her OnlyFans account. Lotti’s Instagram comments were flooded with attacks after a purported screenshot of her attempting to sell the tape spread on social media.

Lotti teased “the leaked video you are coming for” in private messages on OnlyFans. The post announcing the leak was not visible on the free version of Lotti’s OnlyFans account as of Monday (January 15). It claimed Lotti was releasing the sex tape due to threats from hackers.

“Hackers are trying to threaten me to leak my old sex tape with my ex fiancé Juice WRLD,” the message read. “IDGAF ANYMORE. I’LL LEAK IT MYSELF. It’s been a long time since I have been f###ed rough with some B######## C##K like this. I AM SO MAD THAT I AM ADDING EVERY NUDE I EVER SENT HIM. I know you will at least enjoy it. I can’t believe I am actually sending this, but I can’t be threatened anymore.”

Lotti previously worried Juice WRLD fans when she allegedly tried to sell his memorabilia in 2023. The same year, she was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine or cocaine with the purpose to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and theft of property.

Juice WRLD died in December 2019 from an accidental overdose. Lotti suggested there was a conspiracy behind his death in a 2022 rant on social media.

“Y’all mad ’cause literally, I’m like, ‘Oh, blah blah blah you guys think he died from an overdose,’” she said. “You’re wrong! you’re wrong! Literally, you’re wrong so suck a dick. OK? Suck a dick.”

The Cook County Medical Examiner ruled Juice WRLD died due to an accidental overdose of oxycodone and codeine. He suffered a cardiac arrest at Chicago’s Midway Airport.

Lil Nas X Insists He’s Not Trying To Mock Christians: “I Am Not Against You”

Lil Nas X issued an apology of sorts in response to the controversy surrounding his “J Christ” single on Monday (January 12). The Columbia Records artist expressed regret regarding the song’s rollout but swore he never intended to mock Jesus or Christianity.

“I wanted to not necessarily apologize, but I wanted to explain like where my head at and where it’s been for like the last week,” he said in a video. “So, first of all, when I did the artwork, I knew there would be some upset people or whatnot simply because religion is a very sensitive topic for a lot of people. But I also didn’t mean to mock. This wasn’t like a ‘F### you to you people, f### you to the Christians.’ It was not that. It was literally me saying, ‘Oh, I’m back like Jesus.’ That was the whole thing.” I’m not the first person to dress up as Jesus. I’m not the first rapper, I’m not the first artist and I won’t be the last.”

He continued, “I know given my history with the ‘Call Me by Your Name’ video, anything that I do related to religion can be seen as mockery. That just was not the case with this. And I will say though with the communion video, with me eating the crackers and juice, I thought that video was going to be the video to lighten the mood to take it down like less serious. I thought that was something we all wanted to do as kids and whatnot, but I didn’t understand the idea of the reality of what it is. It’s me eating the communion, which is the symbolism of Jesus’ blood and bones or something like that. I don’t remember completely. But I didn’t mean it as a cannibalism thing or whatever the freak. But I do apologize for that. I will say I am sorry for that. That was overboard.”

Lil Nas X admitted the backlash affected him. He extended an olive branch to his Christian fans as he hoped they would not view him as an enemy.

“This is not to try to get everybody on my good side or whatnot,” he said. “This is more so to clear my own head about my own decisions. I know I messed up really bad this time. And I can act unbothered all I want, but it’s definitely taking a mental toll on me … I know this is not going to be an immediate like swift everybody moves forward. But I do want my Christian fans to know that I am not against you. I was put on this earth to bring people closer together and promote love. That’s who I am. I’m not like some evil demon guy trying to destroy everybody’s values and stuff like that. That’s not me.”

Although Lil Nas X was apologetic, he defended his “J Christ” music video.

“With the video, there’s no disrespect there,” he said. “I thought me clearly not being on the side of the devil in the video was the—I don’t know, there was an understanding there that I’m like not trying to diss Christianity.”

Lil Nas X released his “J Christ” single and video on Friday (January 12). The song was the first release of his so-called “Christian era.”

Boosie Badazz Blocked From Contacting Fiancée By Judge

A federal judge ordered Boosie Badazz to not contact his fiancée Rajel Nelson for at least 60 more days. Judge Cathy Ann Bencivengo refused to modify the conditions of his pretrial release in a gun case at a hearing in San Diego on Friday (January 12).

According to Meghann Cuniff’s Legal Affairs and Trial newsletter, Judge Bencivengo initially appeared open to lifting restrictions on Boosie’s ability to communicate with his fiancée.

“This seems like a fairly serious curtailment of his personal rights,” the judge said. “And I’m not quite sure what the basis of it is other than the sort of vague assertion that she may have evidence.”

Prosecutors objected as Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Wheat privately shared information with the judge. The private discussion was enough to convince Judge Bencivengo to reject Boosie’s bid to lift the restrictions.

Last year, federal agents arrested Boosie after state prosecutors dropped a weapons case against him. The feds charged him with being a felon in possession of a gun.

Boosie, whose real name is Torence Hatch, was released on bond in June 2023. The court ordered him to not communicate with any witnesses in the case. Boosie requested a modification of his pretrial release terms in a filing on January 11.

“Although Mr. Hatch’s fiancée, Rajel Nelson, was not present in California during his arrest for being a felon in possession of a firearm, the government notified the Court that it believed she may be a witness and did not want Mr. Hatch to communicate with her, even though they lived together at the time and were engaged to be married,” his lawyers explained. “Mr. Hatch objected. Over six months have elapsed since Mr. Hatch was released, and he is still not permitted to communicate with his fiancée. He respectfully requests that the Court modify the conditions of his release so he may communicate with her.”

Judge Bencivengo did not grant Boosie’s request even though he was scheduled to get married in April. But the judge said he could “certainly ask for the court to allow communication” if a “singular event” is planned.

EXCLUSIVE: Meek Mill & Roc Nation Accused Of Stiffing Documentary Filmmakers

Roc Nation is being sued for allegedly stiffing a documentary company called Good Company Pictures. According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, Roc Nation and Meek Mill are accused of failing to honor a “clearly stated payment obligations” in connection with production services provided by the company.

“Good Company agreed to provide Defendant with production services in connection with Meek Mill’s concert at Madison Square Garden at the ‘Meek Mill + Friends’ concert on Saturday, October 23, 2021 (the ‘MSG Performance’ or the ‘MSG Concert’), and post-performance work related to the MSG Performance, including the development of a Meek Mill documentary regarding the MSG Performance,” the docs read. “Although Good Company provided the requested services, and despite Meek Mill and Roc Nation’s promises to pay Good Company, Good Company has not received any payment to date.”

Good Company says they expected a fee of $200,000 for production work pre and post-concert.

“On October 26, 2021, Roc Nation, acting on its own behalf and on behalf of its then-client Meek Mill, advised Good Company that there was a $200,000 budget for the Production (excluding post-MSG Performance expenses such as interviews, clearances, licensing, or post production),” the docs explain. “Roc Nation advised Good Company to invoice $100,000 to Roc Nation and represented that it had secured a commitment for the remaining $100,000 to be paid by Meek Mill.”

But a few days later, Roc Nation informed Good Company Meek Mill wanted to own the footage and approvals for the production. After the Madison Square Garden show, Good Company says they repeatedly contacted Meek for
payment, which Meek acknowledged he owed. He “promised payment was forthcoming.”

The docs continue, “On January 29, 2022, Good Company informed Roc Nation that it would like to be paid in full for the $166,137.86 it spent to date in connection with the Production before proceeding with its
remaining work. On March 14, 2022, having not heard from Roc Nation, Good Company sent another request for payment. On May 26, 2022, still awaiting payment and a response, Good Company sent an invoice for $166,137.86 to Roc Nation. The invoice reflected work performed by Good Company covering the ‘First Phase of MSG production expenses only [and which] [d]oes not include any licensing, clearances, or post production of any kind.'”

Good Company is seeking at least $166,137.86

Big Jook Murder: Memphis Police Release Photos Of Suspect’s Car

As Memphis police work to solve Anthony “Big Jook” Mims’ murder, they’re asking the public for help. According to FOX13, investigators believe the killer fled the scene in a white Ford Explorer.

The Memphis Police Department released photos of the vehicle on Sunday (January 14) and noted it had black wheels and dark tinted windows but no license plate.

(Memphis Police Department)

Mims, the older brother of CMG rapper Yo Gotti, was killed during a shooting outside a local restaurant on Saturday (January 13) in what police are calling a targeted attack. Memphis police were flagged down regarding reports of gunshots outside Perignons Restaurant & Event Center around 4:15 p.m CT, where two men were shot. One victim, later identified as Mims, was rushed to St. Francis Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A second individual was taken to the same hospital in a private car, before being airlifted to Regional One Health in Memphis in critical condition. Memphis Deputy Police Chief Paul Wright said both victims were at the restaurant for a repast service. Police haven’t identified any of the suspects and no arrests have been made, but they did find video footage of the incident.

“We do feel that the individual that was shot was possibly targeted by the suspect,” Wright said during a press conference.

Footage of both Yo Gotti and Mims at the funeral of Eric Bovan, a relative, made the rounds shortly after the fatal incident. Mims’ last Instagram post contained an eerie premonition. It read: “They don’t want to face you they wanna snake you…Stay alert 2 stay alive watch your back at all times…Put snakes on the plate and eat great.”

Many have concluded Mims’ murder was in retaliation for the 2021 killing of Young Dolph, who was Yo Gotti’s nemesis at the time of his death. So far, police haven’t found a connection. As for Yo Gotti, he has yet to address the shooting publicly.

Gambling: A Vital Element in the World of Old School Gangsta Rap

From the dusty streets of Compton to the glittering facades of Las Vegas, gambling has always held a magnetic pull on the world of hip-hop. But in the gritty trenches of old-school gangsta rap, it wasn’t just a pastime – it was a language, a currency, and a brutal metaphor for the high-stakes game of life on the margins.

More than just a backdrop for braggadocio, gambling formed the very fabric of old-school rap. From the opening beats of Public Enemy’s “Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos” – with its dice roll sample and the iconic line “The game’s rigged, the cards are stacked” – to the frenetic energy of N.W.A.’s “Straight Outta Compton,” where Ice Cube raps about “playing the lottery with my life,” the tension and thrill of the gamble were woven into the DNA of the genre.

The Hustle and the Risk: A Mirror to the Streets

Today, we have gambling sites leveling the playing field for many gamblers out there. Similar to music, we have top brands like Wazamba various providing game genres and features that cater to different tastes depending on the players’ choice.  It has simply become one vital element that defined old-school gangsta rap.

For many early rappers, gambling wasn’t just about entertainment; it was a way of life. Growing up in impoverished communities where legitimate opportunities were scarce, street games like dice, cards, and numbers running became a means of survival and a chance to escape the cycle of poverty.

This reality was reflected in their lyrics, with artists like Slick Rick (“The Ruler”) and The Notorious B.I.G. (“Gimme the Loot”) detailing the hustle and the desperation that fueled their underground gambling ventures.

The inherent risk of the gamble mirrored the harsh realities of life on the streets. Every roll of the dice, every turn of a card, represented a potential victory or a devastating loss. This constant dance with danger resonated deeply with listeners who faced similar challenges in their own lives.

The rappers themselves became avatars of this struggle, their lyrics chronicling the triumphs and tribulations of playing a game where the stakes were always high.

Beyond the Game: Metaphors and Symbolism

Gambling transcended its literal meaning in old-school rap, becoming a potent symbol for the broader challenges faced by marginalized communities. The rigged deck, the loaded dice, the house always winning – these became metaphors for systemic inequality, racial injustice, and the feeling of being perpetually outmatched by a powerful establishment.

Artists like Ice- and Tupac Shakur used gambling imagery to critique the criminal justice system, highlighting the inherent unfairness of a system that stacked the odds against the disadvantaged.

Others, like The Geto Boys (“Mind Playing Tricks on Me”), explored the psychological toll of living a life of constant risk, where every decision felt like a gamble with potentially devastating consequences.

The Art of the Gamble: Skill, Strategy, and Storytelling

Gambling in old-school rap wasn’t simply about luck; it was a showcase of skill, strategy, and quick thinking. Rappers like Kool G Rap (“Straight From the Jungle”) and The Wu-Tang Clan (“C.R.E.A.M.”) celebrated the intellectual prowess and calculated moves required to navigate the unpredictable landscape of risk and reward.

This focus on mastery and mental agility offered valuable lessons, especially for young listeners in underserved communities, demonstrating the value of strategic thinking and outsmarting the odds.

From the Streets to the Spotlight: Opportunity and Upward Mobility

For some rappers, gambling wasn’t just a way to survive; it was a potential springboard to a better life. Success in street games, honed street smarts, and the captivating storytelling often associated with gambling prowess could provide the raw talent and narrative fuel needed to break into the music industry.

The theme of using gambling as a springboard to escape the cycle of poverty was explored in songs like:

  • The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Juicy”
  • Ice Cube’s “Friday,”

Gambling in Hip-Hop Today

The influence of old school rap’s gambling imagery continues to resonate in contemporary hip-hop. The genre celebrated not just the risk and reward, but also the resourcefulness, community, and potential for upward mobility embedded within the gambling world. While understanding the potential dangers is crucial, appreciating the full spectrum of this imagery provides a richer understanding of the cultural context and its enduring impact on hip-hop.

Soulja Boy Wants Blueface Released From Jail So They Can Fight: “He Don’t Want No Real Smoke”

Soulja Boy wants Blueface released from jail so they can get down to business and settle their ongoing feud with a fight.

The “Crank That” hitmaker took to Instagram Live earlier this weekend to clown his rival, who is reportedly in jail after violating probation.

“[What] would you rather be doing? Sitting in jail broke or free with millions of dollars?” Soulja Boy questioned, referring to Blueface’s current predicament. “Would you rather be rich with millions of dollars chillin’ doing whatever you want to do or would you rather be in jail broke owing $14 million and getting sued? C’mon, there’s level to this s###, he don’t want no real smoke.”

Soulja Boy also responded to a fan who asked if he’s happy that Blueface is in jail.

“Hell nah,” he replied. “Free that n####, man. So we can beat his ass. I don’t wish jail on my worst enemy.”

On Friday (January 12) a video surfaced online of Blueface claiming he was turning himself into jail.

“I’m handling some mandatory issues man,” the MILF Music founder explained in the video. “I’ll see you on the other side.”

Blue’s mom Karlissa Saffold claimed he handed himself in over charges that involve the mothers of his children, Chrisean Rock and Jaidyn Alexis.

“Jaidyn got him one charge, Rock got him the one that violated the other,” she wrote on Instagram. “That’s why it’s so quiet. Praying everyone now understands why I didn’t want them together.

Meanwhile, Alexis responded on X, urging her, “Karlissa for the love of God shut the f### up.”
