Dr. Dre revealed how close he came to death following his brain aneurysm last year, with his family invited to share their last goodbyes with the superstar producer.
The West Coast legend explained how doctors thought he was going to die during a candid interview on Dolvett Quince’s podcast. He recalled being admitted to Cedars-Sinai hospital in January 2021 during the pandemic.
“I’m at Cedars-Sinai hospital and they weren’t allowing anybody to come up, meaning visitors or family or anything like that, because of COVID, but they allowed my family to come in,” Dr. Dre shared. “I found out later, they called them up so they could say their last goodbyes because they thought I was out of here.”
However, Dr. Dre was initially unaware of the gravity of his situation when his family visited. “Nobody told me,” Dr. Dre said. “I had no idea. That was crazy.”
During his hospitalization, Dr. Dre spent two weeks in ICU, during which time he did not eat.
“Because of what was going on in my brain, they had to wake me up every hour, on the hour, for two weeks to do these tests,” Dr. Dre said. “Basically, sobriety tests, like touch your nose, rub your heel on your calf, and all that s###.” Watch the clip below.
Dr. Dre Warns Black Men to Check On Their Blood Pressure
Just months later in June 2021, Dr. Dre revealed he was “feeling fantastic,” and shared his thoughts on his health scare.
“It’s a really weird thing. I’ve never had high blood pressure. And I’ve always been a person that has always taken care of my health,” he said.
“But there’s something that happens for some reason with Black men and high blood pressure, and I never saw that coming. But I’m taking care of myself,” Dr. Dre continued. “And I think every Black man should just check that out and make sure things are OK with the blood pressure. I’m going to move on and, hopefully, live a long and healthy life.”
Blueface claims his girlfriend Chrisean Rock was detained by cops after she punched him in the face while at a hosting gig in Arizona.
He took to Instagram in the early hours of Monday morning (Aug. 21) to call for her release.
“Free Rock,” he said to the camera. “We ain’t gonna ever make the same mistake twice,” he said before adding, “She hit me this time.”
When somebody off camera asked if Chrisean Rock was taken to jail, Blueface responded, “Security took her. The police took her. What can I do?”
He then showed a close-up of his face claiming, “She hit me with a banger,” he said. “I aint even do nothing. She be alright. Free Rock,” he concluded.
A video posted by Gossip of the City shows part of an altercation between them. It begins with someone in the background asking, “Why Blueface beating Chrisean ass like that?” The clip then shows the couple arguing before Chrisean rocks the rapper with a two-piece to the face. Check out the video below.
Although Blueface and Chrisean Rock looked happy at footage taken from earlier in the day at the Cookout Dayparty hosting, things went left later during the night.
Just last week, fans shared their concerns over the couple’s toxic relationship after Blueface posted a video of the aftermath of another fight between the pair.
Dennis Rodman plans to visit Russa in an effort to seek the release of fellow basketball star Brittney Griner after the WNBA star was ordered to serve nine years in prison on drugs charges earlier this month.
NBC reports the former NBA player confirmed his plans on Saturday (Aug. 20), telling them he’s due to travel there shortly.
Dennis Rodman’s Bid To Free Brittney Griner
“I got permission to go to Russia to help that girl,” Rodman told NBC News. “I’m trying to go this week.”
However, Rodman’s plans come despite the U.S. State Department strongly discouraging Americans from entering Russia following the invasion of Ukraine. According to NBC, a senior Biden administration official said the sports star is likely to do more harm than good.
“It’s public information that the administration has made a significant offer to the Russians,” the official said. “Anything other than negotiating further through the established channel is likely to complicate and hinder release efforts.”
Brittney Griner, who played for Russian side Yekaterinburg during the WNBA off-season, was arrested at a Moscow airport on 17 February after cannabis-infused vape cartridges were found in her luggage. Cannabis oil is illegal in Russia, and Griner was convicted of trafficking and possessing drugs. She pled guilty to the offense and received a nine-year prison sentence.
The U.S. government has been unsuccessful in its attempts to negotiate her release.
The self-proclaimed “basketball ambassador,” Dennis Rodman, previously acted in the role of an informal diplomat on several occasions. He described Vladimir Putin as “cool,” following a visit to Moscow in 204. It is unknown whether he will meet with Putin on this trip.
Dennis also enjoys a relationship with North Korea’s Kim Jong Un who he described as “an awesome kid” ahead of a 2017 visit to Pyongyang. “I think that he respects me as far as understanding my views,” he said.

According to MTV, the award “celebrates an artist or band whose unparalleled career and continued impact and influence has maintained a unique level of global success in music and beyond, leaving an indelible mark on the music landscape.”

Owen Wilson revealed he’s been “scolded” for leaking plot details from the “Loki” TV show.
The actor spoke to ComicBook for an interview about returning as Mobius in the upcoming second season of Disney+ series “Loki.”
When asked for plot hints, Owen responded: “I do think that, you know, we’ll see what happens with this one… I immediately get kind of self-conscious because (Marvel are) so kind of uptight.”
Quizzed on whether he’d ever been “scolded” by the studio for answering those questions, Owen replied: “Yes… Yeah, multiple times.”
Owen, 53, previously admitted that he received a warning for revealing that Mobius has a mustache.
“When I let it slip that I’m wearing a mustache (as) Agent Mobius, I got an ominous text saying ‘Strike One’,” he told Esquire. “I don’t know who that was from.”
“We looked into it and we think it might have been (Marvel Studios boss) Kevin Feige using a burner phone or something. But that was never confirmed.”
Elsewhere in his ComicBook interview, Owen shared that filming is currently underway for “Loki” Season 2 in London with Tom Hiddleston back as the title character.

Jamie Foxx has blamed cancel culture for the indefinite shelving of his movie “All-Star Weekend.”
The Oscar-winning actor co-wrote and directed the sports comedy-drama in 2016 and played Malik, a basketball-obsessed truck driver.
“All-Star Weekend,” which also starred Jeremy Piven, Jessica Szohr, Eva Longoria, Robert Downey Jr., Ken Jeong, Gerard Butler, and Benicio del Toro, was originally meant to be released in February 2018 but has faced numerous delays.
Reflecting on the project in an interview for CinemaBlend, Jamie Foxx pointed to the “tough” time comedians have faced of late as the reason why the film hasn’t hit cinemas.
“It’s been tough with the lay of the land when it comes to comedy,” the 54-year-old said. “We’re trying to break open the sensitive corners where people go back to laughing again… We hope to keep them laughing and run them right into All-Star Weekend because we were definitely going for it.”
In addition to the lead role, Foxx reportedly also played two other characters in “All-Star Weekend” – a “white, racist cop” and Cleveland A. Smith, the fictional brother of TV personality Stephen A. Smith.
Meanwhile, Robert Downey Jr. made an appearance as a “Mexican man.”
The “Iron Man” actor previously courted controversy by playing a white Australian actor who dons blackface as part of his method acting for the role of an African-American man in 2008’s “Tropic Thunder.”
And during an appearance on “Get Some with Gary Owen” in May, Piven said he would be surprised if “All-Star Weekend” ever gets a release date.
“It’s one of those things where Foxx is probably the most talented guy I’ve ever been around, known, heard of. He’s the funniest guy in the room. He can sing. There’s nothing Foxx can’t do,” he shared. “I had the time of my life… Foxx is really hard on himself. He’s one of these dudes, you know, he wants it to be perfect, so he’s been holding onto this thing for five years. It’s going to be a period drama by the time they put it out.”
Jamie Foxx is currently promoting his new Netflix vampire movie, “Day Shift.”
T.I. has admitted that he punched The Chainsmokers star Drew Taggart.
After the electronic DJ duo, also made up of Alex Pall, revealed the rapper swung at one of them after being kissed without his permission,
T.I. confirmed the story.
In a TikTok video, Drew explained the onstage incident, which prompted T.I. to respond with a TikTok of his own.
“There’s really not much more to the story than you’ve already heard,” the 41-year-old began. “I think the most important thing to take away is afterwards, we had a drink, we took a shot, you dig? You know what I’m saying? And we moved on.
“You know, everybody left the party, had a good time. Like I said, love The Chainsmokers – not to get no sugar, though.”
In his video, Drew shared his version of events.
“T.I. just literally punched me in the face. We were in a vibe and I was, like, I gave him a kiss on the cheek,” he recalled. “It was totally my fault.
“He was like, ‘Don’t do that,’ and I was like, ‘OK.’ And he pushed me off and I was like, ‘All right, my bad.'”
Drew summarized in his video: “He punched me in the face and I was like, ‘OK, I’m sorry.’ And he was like, ‘All right, cool. We’re good.’ It was the weirdest interaction ever.”
An Australian TV executive has apologized to Emilia Clarke for describing her as a “short, dumpy girl.”
Editors at C##### reported that Foxtel chief executive Patrick Delany made the comment about the British actress at the Sydney premiere of “Game of Thrones” prequel series “House of Dragon” earlier this week.
According to the outlet, Delany recalled his initial reaction to watching the hit HBO show, in which Clarke played Daenerys Targaryen, to the crowd, and stated, “I was like, ‘What’s this show with the short, dumpy girl walking into the fire?'”
The comment fell flat, with one attendee noting that there was a “bit of a gasp” in the audience.
A representative for Foxtel issued an apology to Clarke on Delany’s behalf.
“Mr Delany’s welcome remarks at the ‘House of the Dragon’ premiere were intended to be self-deprecating and light-hearted,” they said. “The aim was to convey that for him, ‘Game of Thrones’ had been something very different for television in 2011 and that Emilia Clarke went from relatively unknown to one of the most recognized and most-loved actors in television and film. On behalf of Mr. Delany, the Foxtel Group apologizes if his remarks were misunderstood and caused any offense.”
Emilia Clarke, 35, has not yet responded to the controversy.
“House of the Dragon,” based on portions of George R.R. Martin’s 2018 novel “Fire & Blood,” is set to premiere on August 21st.
Demi Lovato struggled with “survivor’s guilt” in the wake of Mac Miller’s death.
The “Skyscraper” singer relapsed after six years of sobriety in June 2018, and the following month, she was rushed to the hospital due to an opioid overdose. Lovato is now sober.
Reflecting on her experiences in a new interview for Apple Music 1’s “The Zane Lowe Show,” the star revealed that the song Dead Friends on her eighth studio album Holy F### is about the emotional toll of losing pals to drug abuse.
“I’ve made friends of all ages. I’ve lost friends that were around my age, and those hurt so deeply because we’ve been in the trenches together,” she said. “I had a lot of survivor’s guilt after my overdose because… right after that, Mac Miller died, and it just put everything into perspective for me of, ‘That could have been you, that almost was you, and how are you going to live your life now?’ And it affected me a lot.”
Elsewhere in the chat, Lovato noted that she has a lot of issues with teenagers being signed to major record labels.
“In your teens, people who aren’t in the spotlight are still trying to figure themselves out. They’re going to parties. They’re making mistakes,” the 29-year-old continued. “And it’s like, if you’re a 15-year-old and you’re making mistakes, it’s magnified. I don’t know. If I were to have kids and they came to me and said, ‘Mom, I want to be in the industry,’ I would have to say, ‘Please wait until you’re 18.'”
Mark Hoppus is open to all possibilities when it comes to the future of Blink-182 after rekindling his friendship with former bandmate Tom DeLonge.
The band’s bassist and singer spoke to People about reconnecting with Tom, who quit the rock group in 2015. He was replaced by Alkaline Trio singer-guitarist Matt Skiba.
Mark revealed that Tom and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker visited him ahead of a round of “brutal” chemotherapy. Mark was battling stage 4 diffuse large B-cell lymphoma until he was declared cancer-free in September 2021.
“It was the first time that all three of us were in the same room in, like, five years,” Mark shared. “It’s actually better than it used to be. There was no agenda. There were no lingering grudges. It felt very back to what it should be: three friends sitting in a room.”
Saying their friendship is “in a really great place,” Mark indirectly addressed rumors that Tom would rejoin the band.
“I keep writing music, and I’m open to whatever the next phase of Blink is,” he said. “I’m hopeful for the future. I’m just damn glad to be here.”

Diddy sparked a debate about the state of R&B, but Brent Faiyaz thinks artists are beyond the concept of genres.
A day after Diddy claimed R&B is dead, Brent Faiyaz shared his thoughts on music genres in general. The platinum-selling singer suggested artists don’t even think about genre distinctions.
“Don’t nobody care about music genres anymore, dat s### primitive,” he wrote on Twitter. “sauce dat s### up & let it fly.”
Brent Faiyaz followed up by responding a Twitter user who mocked his opinion. He tried to explain why he felt music genres are irrelevant to artists.
“Lol man It’s really hard 2 explain this 2 music lovers who don’t create, but the properties that differentiate genres b damn near insignificant 2 us after a while,” he wrote. “U spend enough time in the studio & they just become notes.”
Brent Faiyaz dismissed genres on the heels of a social media firestorm caused by Diddy. The Bad Boy Records founder faced criticism after asking, “Who killed R&B?” on Twitter.
Diddy declared R&B is dead in an Instagram Live conversation with Timbaland. The Hip Hop mogul also discussed his thoughts on R&B with Mary J. Blige, who disagreed with her longtime collaborator.
“You can’t kill something that’s in our DNA,” she told Diddy. “It’s gonna keep transitioning from generation to generation to generation to generation.

Savage explained how she conceived R. Kelly’s child after his lawyer Jennifer Bonjean denied the pregnancy claims. Savage said his lawyer didn’t know they were planning in vitro fertilization before he got locked up for sex crimes.
“When he got sent to prison, we paused on it and I had them freeze my eggs until I was ready,” Savage told ET. “Once his lawyer did find out, she wanted me to have an abortion because she didn’t feel that now was the time for me to have a child following the 30-year sentence.”
She continued, “Me and Robert wanted to have a child for a long time. He is very happy about it, his lawyer isn’t. Once I told her I was keeping my baby, she didn’t want me to announce, but I wanted to share the news. I’ve always been there for him even before this new lawyer came into the picture.”
Savage revealed her pregnancy in a tell-all book about her relationship with R. Kelly. She plans to release a second book in 2023.
R. Kelly is currently on trial for child pornography and obstruction of justice charges in Chicago. Last year, he was sentenced to 30 years in prison after being convicted of federal racketeering and sex trafficking in New York.
Gorilla Stone leader Donovan Gillard, also known as Donnie Love, was sentenced to 20 years in prison as part of a racketeering case involving Casanova.
Like Casanova, Gillard pleaded guilty to a racketeering charge. More than a dozen Gorilla Stone members also pleaded guilty after the gang was accused of murder, narcotics, firearms, and fraud offenses.
Prosecutors referred to Gillard as a godfather in the Gorilla Stone gang. The feds linked him to drug deals, a failed murder plot, and an unemployment fraud scheme.
“I was always the little one out of the crew and the youngest. As I entered junior high school, I was bullied due to my size which led me to sort protection (sic), I began to hang around the wrong crowd and eventually was persuaded to join the “Blood Gang…” Joining the gang in my mind gave me empowerment. As I rise (sic) in status, I felt untouchable. I never wanted to hurt anyone. I only wanted to protect my family and earn money to eventually move my grandmother out of [public] housing.
After the birth of his daughter, Gillard said he wanted to leave the gangster lifestyle behind. He started his own cleaning business, but getting out of the Bloods was not so easy.
“I knew I couldn’t just walk away from the gang because there will (sic)be consequences, however, I tried my best to dissocialize myself from it. My grandmother was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer September of 2020, she was given 4-6 months to live. My grandmother expressed on her hospital bed how proud of me she became for the changes I’ve made. I promised my grandmother on her dying bed I will no longer be a gang member. My grandmother passed away on January 30th, 2021.
“On February 10th, 2021, I was indicted and arrested at my home the day before I was to bury my grandmother. The hurt of losing my grandmother and the hurt of unable (sic) to see her being laid to rest still taunts me (sic).”
Unfortunately, Gillard’s plea to the judge fell on deaf ears.
“Gillard’s leadership role meant that he was responsible for ensuring that his many reports followed the gang’s rules, including retaliating against rival gang members who threatened the gang’s narcotics dealing or its overall reputation and stature,” prosecutors said. “Gillard was responsible for ensuring that his reports learned the Gorilla Stone oath and its various rules, and he played a role in recruiting young members to the violent gang.”
Earlier this year, Casanova pleaded guilty to racketeering and narcotics charges for his role in the Gorilla Stone gang. He admitted to participating in a 2018 robbery and a 2020 shooting.
Casanova, whose real name is Caswell Senior, is scheduled to be sentenced on December 16th. He is facing up to 60 years in prison.

Artist, entertainer, and songwriter Anaya LoveNote has something to say and she’s not holding back or biting her tongue for anyone or anything.
Breaking out with her anthem for females titled, “Preference,” this Texas-bred and California-residing entertainer is winning over the hearts of the industry with her candid takes on life, love, and relationships.
Taking back the labels that men impose on women like “hoe” or “gold digger,” Anaya LoveNote wants to level the playing field of dating with her new video. She lets them know it’s just her “Preference” to date the kind of men that have a big bag and the means to take care of a family.
“If men can be out here focused on their bag, then why can’t we as women do that? I’m not trying to get married, I want to focus on my bag, I want to focus on me. I want to fix myself, but at the same time I don’t want to be boring – I want to enjoy my life. It’s not fair that men take that and flip it. It’s like what makes me a hoe and you a player?” Anaya LoveNote asked.
Having been in a relationship with an A-list celebrity, Anaya LoveNove lost herself to the thralls of a one-sided relationship, and although she was happy for a time, ultimately she lost herself and her focus on being a singer and entertainer like she had always dreamed about.
“Preference is a song inspired by how I was dating a huge celebrity and at one point I lost myself in that person. I was very distracted. I wasn’t going to the studio, and I wasn’t working on me and he ended up breaking me to the point where I lost myself. I was so broken and I just prayed and I started writing – Preference is the song that came from all those emotions and feelings,” Anaya LoveNote said.
But the road to finding success where she is touring weekly and recording with the best of the best wasn’t easy for Anaya LoveNote who grew up in foster care. Upon arrival to foster care when she was seven, Anaya took to singing and dancing, practicing and singing to Monica and Whitney Houston.
“When I got into foster care at the age of 7, I didn’t know I could sing or dance. I would listen to Monica and Whitney Houston and I would sing to them. Then one day this foster care person told me I had a gift and from there I loved the sound of my voice. I fell in love with music and I wanted to know how far I could go.”
Encouraged by the foster care staff, Anaya has continued to pursue her dreams of being an artist and entertainer since then and has ultimately written for the likes of Wiz Khalifa’s Taylor Gang and Too Short.
Anaya LoveNote
“Loody from Taylor Gang was putting together a female project, I went in there singing but came out a rapper. It made me realize that I want to win an award for both genres of R&B and Rap. I have talents and God gave me the ability to sing and rap,” Anaya LoveNote explained. “After my failed relationship, I had hit up Winner Circle and I DM’d them. Months later I got a phone call, I went to Atlanta and they sent me a reference to a song that was originally for the City Girls, but I did my own thing and came up with Preference.“
From there Anaya LoveNote continued her mission to find the success she was looking for and it led her to Splash Life Booking’s CEO and founder Dollah Dae who has since begun managing her and booking her for shows across the country.
“I ended up learning about Splash Life with Lexy Panterra where I had a show. I ended up finding Dollah Dae around the time I recorded Preference so the timing was really crazy. I approached them and I asked them how I could grow. Dae told me he had been following me for about a year and after that, me and Dollah Dae connected. I prayed for management who is professional, who isn’t trying to f*ck on me and I’m just thankful to have connected with him because he is so professional and has helped me so much.”
Learning and growing with each step since her early days of foster care and throughout her troubled relationships, Anaya LoveNote has learned the importance of being yourself and being confident in who you are.
“I want fans to know that it’s okay to be yourself because there are so many sides to us as people. Sometimes people will say you are trying to be someone else, but there are so many sides to a person that makes them who they are,” Anaya LoveNote explained. “I want them to really see me, not someone else. I want people to see the love and bring back the fun in music. I don’t want to be labeled like another artist that’s already out, I just want them to take all of me for me.”
