Soulja Boy Says He’s Seeking Therapy After Going Ballistic On Metro Boomin & 21 Savage

Soulja Boy apologized for his disrespectful comments about Metro Boomin’s late mother on Wednesday (May 15). The opinionated rapper said he plans to attend therapy and anger management days after his social media tirade against Metro and 21 Savage.

“I apologize to @MetroBoomin for over reacting over an old tweet,” Big Draco wrote on Twitter (X). “Condolences to his mom. I’m going to seek therapy and anger management. I’m done responding to hate, new or old.”

Days earlier, Soulja Boy was enraged by a Twitter post dating back to 2012. Metro snidely mentioned the “Crank That” creator in the 12-year-old post.

“My phone rings to come to the studio with Jeezy,” Metro wrote. “Yours rings to send Soulja Boy a pack of beats. Sit down.”

Soulja Boy discovered the post well over a decade later and demanded it be deleted. He threatened to slap Metro and the producer’s collaborator 21 Savage, who got involved in the beef on social media. Big Draco even proposed a celebrity boxing match.

The situation escalated when Soulja Boy started derisively talking about Metro’s mother, who was killed in 2022. The controversial hitmaker sent Metro a “Happy Mother’s Day” message and bizarrely claimed the producer sacrificed her in a series of distasteful remarks.

“Dig that n#### mama up and throw her back in that b####,” he wrote.

21 Savage defended Metro by issuing a stern warning.

“Speaking on a n#### mama like s### a game you gone s### on yourself when I see you boy,” 21 Savage wrote.

Soulja Boy showed no remorse at the time.

“F### u and his mama lil boy,” he wrote to 21 Savage. “Nah umma swing on u when I see you lame.”

Soulja Boy also trashed Meek Mill for weighing in on the war of words. The posts have since been deleted.

André 3000 Pours Cold Water On Hopes For Outkast Album

André 3000 sounded pessimistic about the prospects of a new Outkast album in a conversation with poet Hanif Abdurraqib. 3 Stacks mentioned how his relationship with Big Boi changed in an interview published by The Bitter Southerner.

“People ask, so will there be another Outkast album?” André 3000 said. “I really can’t say, man. I do realize that our chemistries have changed. We’re different people. We’re totally different people. Not to say that we won’t be able to make any kind of music, but I think, yeah, people have to realize, like even in relationships, man, husband and wife, chemistry should change after a while. And I think people think there’s this one thing that has to stay a way, but we are ever-changing, man.”

André 3000, who ditched rap for the flute on his first solo album New Blue Sun, made it clear he’s still friends with Big Boi. The legendary rapper noted his bond with Big Boi goes beyond music.

“You know, people always ask about me and Big Boi,” André 3000 said. “We cool, man. That’s my homie forever. We were friends before doing music.”

Big Boi had fans begging for an Outkast reunion when he shared a brief video of himself and André 3000 hanging out in March. Outkast hasn’t released an album since 2006’s Idlewild.

André 3000, Big Boi and their fellow Dungeon Family members suffered a major loss when Organized Noize’s Rico Wade passed away in April. Wade was one of the architects of the Dungeon Family’s sound. Organized Noize produced countless classics for Outkast, including every song on the duo’s debut album Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik.

Big Boi said without Wade “there would be no Outkast.” Organized Noize’s Sleepy Brown and Ray Murray called Wade the cornerstone of their production team and the entire Dungeon Family.

Serena Williams To Host 2024 ESPY Awards

The 2024 ESPYS will air live on Thursday, July 11 at 8 pm ET/PT on ABC. Professional tennis legend Serena Williams will serve as the host for the televised event.

“I couldn’t be more excited to host The ESPYS,” the 23-time Grand Slam champion exclaims. “This is a dream come true for me, and something I’ve wanted to do for as long as I can remember.”

Serena Williams also says, “It has been a sensational year for sports and an unprecedented one for female athletes… I can’t wait to celebrate everyone on stage in July.”

Additionally, ESPN+’s eight-part In the Arena: Serena Williams series will premiere on July 10. Williams will provide firsthand accounts of her iconic career.

“In a year where women’s sports are being watched and celebrated like never before, it is a perfect fit to have perhaps the greatest female athlete of all time host The ESPYS,” Kate Jackson, VP, Production, ESPN, states.

Jackson adds, “Given Serena’s spectacular on-court achievements and her overall cultural impact, she’ll bring elite star-power and dynamic energy as host of the show.”

Serena Williams recently became part of a historic Hip-Hop battle. Kendrick Lamar name-dropped his fellow Compton, California native on his Drake diss track “Not Like Us.”

The Evolution Of PROF: How Rhymesayers Split Was Best Thing For His Career

Gampo has grown up. The alter ego of rapper/singer PROF, Gampo was described early on as the Minneapolis native’s “comedic, dirty-mouthed” rap persona. And it kind of became his signature.

In 2011, the Twin Cities Daily Planet called his fourth studio album, King Gampo, “an asinine, narcissistic self-indulgence run completely riot, without a shred of redeeming artistry.” While that was undeniably harsh, PROF will be the first to admit his ego did run wild for awhile.

“I thought I was the best undiscovered talent in America back when I was s##### and awful,” he says with a laugh. “I’ll hear that music and I’ll be like, ‘Oh this is horrible,’ but I guess that’s the confidence and delusion you need to do something like this.”

The talented artist, who has always used his off-color sense of humor and iron-clad confidence to craft often hilarious and thought-provoking bars, has grown since then. It’s evident on his 2023 single “HORSE” and its accompanying video, which begins with PROF being admitted into a fictional place called “Selfless Pastures: Ego Rehab.”

“I’ve evolved,” he says with certainty. “I’ve been having these thoughts for a long time and just haven’t really put it on wax. I’m a grown ass man. When I said I wanted to be fame and money, I honestly can say I don’t want fame anymore. I would prefer not to have it.”

He also has the patience of a saint. An interview plagued by schedule conflicts, technical difficulties, numerous stop-starts and the potential for a somewhat confrontational conversation didn’t deter him from knocking it out. After all, there were some important questions to ask, questions that weren’t exactly comfortable to ask or (presumably) even answer.

In 2020, PROF was almost a victim of cancel culture—almost. Caught up in a scandal that cost him his contract with Rhymesayers Entertainment—home to artists like Atmosphere, Dilated Peoples and Aesop Rock—PROF was forced to pivot. And he’s happy he did.

“It was the best thing that’s ever happened in my career,” he says. “Five months later I was on the Billboard chart.”

Curiously, PROF was never really at the center of it—it was a DJ he worked with between 2009 and 2016, who’d been accused of sexual misconduct. But it ballooned into something much more after internet sleuths dug up some old tweets from PROF that appeared to “prove” he was character with questionable morals.

“There never was an allegation or anything to begin with, but lies spread around the world before the truth has time to put on their tennis shoes,” he explains. “There was just tweets of saying I was running around raping people. It got so bad, and then people are sifting through stuff online and it was just impossible to get ahead of.”

PROF apologized for the series of “disgusting” tweets he put out in 2012, some Valentine’s Day cards from 2014 and a song released in 2017 that uses language and imagery he dubbed “embarrassing and ignorant.”

“A lot of what really canceled me was tweets from 10 years prior to that,” he says. “So like 15, 20 years ago when I was watching a comedy special—and this is when no one really knew what Twitter was—I’m tweeting all these jokes. They weren’t even my jokes.”

But the damage was seemingly done. Rhymesayers released a statement explaining their decision, saying, “The reports of abuse that have come to light this past week are not things that we’ve ever tacitly condoned or were previously aware of. We have taken the last few days to process these reports because we felt it was important to allow survivors the opportunity to speak and for us to listen, discuss and reflect before adding our voice to the discussion.”

Rhymesayers immediately ended its relationship with PROF and his label, Stophouse Music Group, and shelved the Powderhorn Suites album.

“We failed to not only vet the signing of Prof but also calling into question the intentions behind his music, messaging and content more strongly,” the statement continued. “We, like many others, separated the music from potential behavior. Thus, we were complicit in promoting and marketing music that perpetuates misogyny.”

The statement arrived in the wee hours of the morning during what had been one of the most challenging periods of PROF’s life.

“My neighborhood had burned down,” he remembers. “We were going through a lot. My house was right next to the precinct that got pulled into all that George Floyd s### in 2020. I lived right there, so my backyard filled with ash. I had to leave my house in the middle of the night because we thought it was going to start on fire. So all these protests I’m involved with people everywhere and there was a Blackhawk helicopter above my house for four months straight and it ain’t no normal helicopter—it shakes everything.

“Meanwhile, I’m doing work, thinking about what it is to be a white man, born and raised in Minneapolis. What are my Black friends doing? How are they, have I made any mistakes in my life? I’m analyzing my race, accountability for who I am as a white man and where I was born and I’m just going through a lot of s###, not sleeping. And then boom, just weeks later, I’m getting canceled. I had such a hard time getting press, but when I was getting canceled, that s### was all over.”

A post shared by Prof (@profgampo)

PROF says he was shocked by how it was handled by some of the people he considered friends, adding, “A lot of people jumped ship on me and just left my relationships and everything without calling me or saying, ‘What’s going on?’ Everyone was so scared of what was happening. The wave was so ferocious and so violent. It was crazy.”

In hindsight, PROF admits he wishes he would’ve handled the situation differently. As he explains, “I was trying to like take accountability and that was one time I can look back and be like, ‘Damn I took too much accountability.’ I should have stood up for myself a little bit more rather than try to do what’s right because it swung so far. No one had time to just sit down and think.

“No one was calling anybody. I was calling Rhymesayers for three or four days straight and they went totally dark on us. So I’m thinking, “Oh, they’re going to try and make me the poster boy of this s###.” I saw something coming. I didn’t think it would be how it was like in the middle of the night, but they tweeted it out at two in the morning.”

Ironically, the same album Rhymesayers declined to put out, Powerhorn Suites, became PROF’s most successful, peaking at No. 8 on the Billboard chart. It showed him he didn’t need the help of a label and, instead, could focus on building his own empire.

Currently on an expansive headlining tour, PROF just sold out The Vogue in Indianapolis on Saturday (May 11) and continues to pack venues across the United States. He’ll perform alongside Yelawolf on July 12 at The Mission Ballroom in Denver, which is already sold out. He also recently dropped a new single called “Feed The Dogs,” his first since “HORSE.”

While it may have taken a lot of reflection to get to where he is now, there was a moment during the chaos of 2020 when he realized all he had to do was unplug.

“I just went up north,” he says. “I went to a beautiful place and went off grid. I realized it was all on my phone. If I would have just dropped my phone, I wouldn’t even know that s###. Is it really that real? I was famous at that time in Minneapolis and no one was coming over up to me and spitting in my face. No one would ever f###### do that s###, so it was just delete your apps and f###### live your life, man.”

Travis Scott Learns Trial Start Date For Last Astroworld Tragedy Wrongful Death Lawsuit

A Texas judge scheduled a start date for the trial in the only remaining wrongful death lawsuit against Travis Scott. According to the Associated Press, Judge Kristen Hawkins said jury selection will begin on September 10 at a court hearing on Tuesday (May 14).

The family of Ezra Blount, a 9-year-old boy killed in the Astroworld tragedy, was among the 10 plaintiffs who sued Scott and others over the deaths of their loved ones. Nine of the lawsuits were settled out of court.

Blount was the youngest victim who died in the crowd crush at the 2021 Astroworld Festival. Blount’s family wanted the trial to start sooner, but Judge Hawkins told them logistics wouldn’t allow the proceedings to begin until September.

Lawyers representing Blount’s family sought to depose Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino before the trial. Live Nation, one of the defendants in the lawsuit, hoped to prevent Rapino from facing questioning. Live Nation’s attorney Neal Manne said he might appeal the deposition to the Texas Supreme Court if no agreement is reached.

The Blount family’s lawsuit will be the first Astroworld case to make it to trial barring a settlement. Roughly 2,400 injury lawsuits are still pending. The first trial regarding Astroworld-related injuries was scheduled for October 15. Seven of the injury cases will be handled at the trial.

Last year, a grand jury declined to indict Scott on criminal charges for his role in the Astroworld tragedy. Scott filed a motion for dismissal from the Astroworld lawsuits in March. His lawyers argued he wasn’t responsible for the crowd’s safety.

Judge Hawkins rejected Scott’s motion. The judge also refused to dismiss Live Nation and Apple Music as defendants.

Drake successfully convinced the judge to remove him from the Astroworld litigation in April. The Canadian star appeared at the deadly event held at Houston’s NRG Park in 2021.

Cowboy Killer: How The Appalachian Rapper Ended Up In Nashville Signed To Yelawolf’s Label

Despite the menacing moniker, versatile “trap grass” rapper Cowboy Killer hasn’t actually killed any cowboys—or anyone, for that matter. He’s too busy murdering the mic. Hopping on Zoom, his eclectic style stands out immediately; he’s a little bit country, a little bit Hip-Hop and a whole lotta personality.

Born in Appalachia, Cowboy Killer (real name (Paul Mifsud) spent his formative years living on a farm with a single mother, who raised horses, pigs, cattle, goats, pheasants and rabbits—not exactly a Hip-Hop haven. But bubbling beneath the surface was an innate interest in music, specifically ‘90s and early 2000s rap.

“I was just a country boy living in the middle of the woods, listening to 50 Cent, Eminem, DMX and Biggie,” he tells AllHipHop. “I kind of saw hip-hop as a father figure in some way. In the early days, I didn’t have any collaborators, so I just created music because I was just curious how to even get on a record, so I bought a mic and a little interface.”

But at 17 years old, Cowboy Killer was shipped off to Asheville, North Carolina after inevitable teenage apathy set in.

“There were a lot of family issues and abuse at home,” he explains. “I was just dealing with a lot of stuff. We had a very broken family dynamic and because my mother was raising us on her own, she was really struggling. She’s a great woman, but she couldn’t take care of me or figure out how to keep me from staying out of trouble at school.”

By this time, Cowboy Killer had stopped going to his classes, although he did ultimately graduate from high school in North Carolina. There, he built a studio, started recording more and met more like-minded people. But once he returned to Appalachia, he fell into old patterns and was faced with a decision.

“My homies were like, ‘Look, man, if you wanna take this serious, we’re going down to Orlando and if you wanna come with us, come with us.’ And so I did and spent five years there, just grinding.”

Finding work as an engineer, Cowboy Killer had the chance to work with several burgeoning Florida artists, including Ski Mask the Slump God, Anonymous Killer and Very Rare All Stars. But behind the scenes, Cowboy Killer was making material on his own and once he started playing it for people, he was quickly dubbed “Him McGraw,” a reference to country star Tim McGraw. Armed with the confidence he needed, he uploaded his debut solo album to SoundCloud and was off to the proverbial races.

In 2020, with pandemic in full swing, Cowboy Killer landed his first placement on Lupe Fiasco and producer Kaelin Ellis’ EP HOUSE featuring the late Virgil Abloh.

“It’s technically Virgil’s last collaboration,” he says. “Everybody’s idea of a home is different. That was the first time that I’d gotten a major placement and in the middle of the pandemic. It was weird because everyone was kind of sitting still, while we looked like we’re going up.”

Around that time, Ellis took a trip to New Mexico and was so impressed with Albuquerque’s deep-rooted culture, he encouraged Cowboy Killer to visit. He was supposed to be there for three days—but it turned into two weeks. Once back in Florida, he made a spontaneous decision to pack up his beat up Honda Civic and return to the Southwest.

“I got back to Florida and was just in a bad spot,” he remembers. “So I took the $150 I had, got in my car and drove all the way to New Mexico. I didn’t even know if I was gonna make it, but l found a way.”

Often described as the “Wild Wild West,” Albuquerque, or Burque as the locals call it, is a sprawling desert oasis with big city problems but a thriving Hip-Hop community that truly represents all elements of the culture—from b-boys and b-girls to graffiti writers, DJs and MCs. Outsiders sometimes have a tough time settling in but not Cowboy Killer.

“They embraced me with open arms because they knew, ‘Hey, this guy’s the truth,’” he says. “I ended up building a studio, hustling and getting my money up. I got an office downtown right on Central Avenue. I was literally building the community, like ‘let’s network, let’s connect and let’s bring the Hip-Hop community together.’”

Cowboy Killer flourished in New Mexico for two years before relocating to Nashville. But he looks back on his time there with fondness, saying, “New Mexico, to me, is where my career really took off. It was the training grounds for sure. That’s where I built my confidence. It’s where I learned how to record. It’s where I learned how to collaborate and how to deal with stressful situations where there’s guns, drugs and women in the studio and you got to deal with it.”

Three years later, Cowboy Killer just dropped his first collaboration with Yelawolf and is signed to Wolf’s label, Slumerican.

“Bob Barker,” produced by Yelawolf’s longtime creative partners DJ Klever and WLPWR, the track is accompanied by a golf-themed video boasting a cameo from Bam Margera (for the uninitiated, Yelawolf is as much an ill skater as he is a talented rapper). “FRFR,” produced by Fresh Ayr Jelly Roll’s DJ Chill, serves as Cowboy’s first official Slumerican release.

It’s a small taste of what Cowboy Killer has cookin’—but it never would’ve happened without his stint in North Carolina.

“I went to rehab and graduated high school in North Carolina,” he explains. “I met a man named Warren and when I moved to Nashville after New Mexico, I ended up linking back with him because he had moved here. We were sitting in the car—it was a rainy day and we’d just gotten some Japanese food—and he was telling me he knew [Wolf’s manager] Edward Crowe.

“They met up a couple days later and took a trip down to Kentucky. He played my Long Live Cowboy album front to back. He called me and was like, ‘Let’s set up a meeting.’ That meeting turned into me eventually signing with him as my manager. One day he called me and was like, ‘Hey, I played this song for Wolf. He wants to go to studio right now.’”

In a nutshell, that’s how Yelawolf works. When given the option, he’ll typically choose to go to the studio.

“He’s a workhorse,” Cowboy Killer says. “We were just kindred spirits right then and there. I saw so much of my future in him. I appreciate Wolf for what he’s done for me; taking me on a national tour, putting me on a stage at the Harley-Davidson shop in front of thousands of people for the first time […] Like, I’m from the country, for real. But I know Hip-Hop saved my life.”

Whatever the future holds, Cowboy Killer has only begun to write his next chapter—we’re just lucky to be along for the ride. His latest album, Trap Grass, can be found below.

Jeezy Claims Jeannie Mai Is “Weaponizing” Their Daughter In Divorce

Jeezy accused his estranged wife Jeannie Mai of using their daughter against him in their contentious divorce. According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Jeezy filed a motion to dismiss or modify their agreement on temporary issues – including custody of their child.

The 46-year-old rapper told a Georgia court that Mai hasn’t lived up to her end of the agreement, preventing him from spending time with their daughter. Jeezy claimed Mai was using their child to coerce him into giving her what she wanted in their divorce.

“Unfortunately, the Respondent is weaponizing Petitioner’s love for the parties’ minor child against him in hope that he will concede to Respondent’s unrealistic and erratic demands,” Jeezy contended.

Jeezy filed for divorce in September 2023. He said Mai took their daughter with her when she “suddenly vacated the marital residence” in October 2023.

Mai raised concerns about their daughter’s safety. She insisted Jeezy “irresponsibly hides dangerous firearms throughout his home which are easily accessible” to their child.

Jeezy’s estranged wife also accused him of domestic violence. She cited several examples of him abusing her during their marriage in a court filing. One incident allegedly involved him choking her and pushing her down the stairs at a hotel. Jeezy denied Mai’s allegations.

“The allegations are not only false but also deeply disturbing, especially coming from someone I loved,” he said. “This malicious attempt to tarnish my character and disrupt my family is ridiculous. It’s disheartening to witness the manipulation and deceit at play and at this time my main concern is being an active father to our daughter as I continue to fight for court-mandated joint custody. Rest assured, the truth will prevail through the proper legal channels.”

Jeezy and Mai got married in March 2021. They welcomed their daughter Monaco in January 2022.

“Eddie Winslow” Goes Viral For OnlyFans Video With Transgender Model

Transgender model Sidney Starr ignited a social media firestorm by promoting an OnlyFans video featuring Darius McCrary, who portrayed Eddie Winslow in the sitcom Family Matters. “Eddie Winslow” trended on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Wednesday (May 15).

Starr previously claimed she was dating McCrary in 2021. He denied the rumors.

“I don’t normally pay attention to the rumors,” he said. “I’m not into all that. But the small minds discuss other people … While y’all are discussing rumors that aren’t true, we eating. But I will say this: what are we, in high school? You gonna tell me who I can be friends with, who I can’t hang out with? I’m a grown man … Stop running with these rumors, y’all.”

A rep for McCrary acknowledged his friendship with Starr but insisted there was nothing more to their relationship.

“McCrary has kept an amicable friendship with Starr, who has been persistent with creating fake storylines and relationships with our client in a sad attempt to get back on Love & Hip Hop: New York,” the rep said.

Fans may remember Starr from her rumored affair with Chingy. Starr admitted she lied about their alleged romance. Earlier this year, Chingy discussed the rumor’s impact on his career.

“When that happened, I lost a lot of stuff based off a lie, which was just the most oddest thing I’ve ever seen,” he told TMZ. “Ain’t nothing good happen from that for me … That situation hurt my career like I’m just gonna be honest about it.”

McCrary went viral a month after fellow Family Matters cast member Reginald VelJohnson, who portrayed Carl Winslow, was dragged into the rumor mill. Luce Cannon claimed he saw Diddy having sex with VelJohnson. The rumor spread on social media, catching the attention of Diddy’s rival 50 Cent.

Kanye West Chief Of Staff Resigns Out Of Fear He May Turn Back Into A Homosexual

Kanye West has parted ways with longtime Yeezy Chief of Staff Milo Yiannopoulos, citing irreconcilable differences over the company’s direction over the introduction of the rapper’s pornographic venture.

Yiannopoulos, who is a prominent right-wing provocateur and a recovering addict, provided TMZ with a resignation letter tearing into the new strategy involving “Yeezy P###.”

He expressed deep concerns about the moral and religious implications and the risk to his personal health, both spiritual and physical.

“I cannot be complicit in the production or dissemination of pornographic films and literature, for moral and religious reasons, but also because such material and the kind of people invariably involved in its production represent an imminent danger to my life as a recovering addict and an unacceptable risk to my spiritual and physical health as a former homosexual,” Yiannopoulos letter reads.

The departures from Kanye West and his brand, Yeezy, were not confined to Milo alone.

Several high-ranking executives also exited within the last few weeks, though it’s yet unclear if their resignations correlate directly with the p### development or other underlying issues in the organization.

Yiannopoulos didn’t slam the door shut on future collaborations despite his resignation. He left room for reconciliation, claiming he might consider rejoining if Kanye decides to drop the planned adult content line.

“If, at some time in the future, the company publicly and permanently abandons any plan to produce, distribute, or profit from obscene content, it would be an honor to serve you again,” Yiannopoulos added.

Meanwhile, rumors swirl about who might make up the new team Kanye is assembling, although much remains in flux.

Earlier reports revealed Kanye West engaged in discussions with Stormy Daniels’ ex-manager Mike Moz to jumpstart the p### business.

According to Moz, the planned content aims to revolutionize the p### industry unlike anything previously seen.

This pathway aligns with Kanye’s driven personality, as his brand often involves pushing boundaries.

Yet, these perpetual shake-ups and revolving door personnel changes have consistently marked the Kanye-led business landscape.

Cardi B Celebrates Landing 4 Songs In Spotify’s Billions-Stream Club

Cardi B has risen from being an internet personality to a diamond-selling recording artist. The Bronx-bred rapper also reached the career milestone of having four songs amassing one billion streams on Spotify.

The latest episode of Spotify’s Billions Club: The Series features Cardi B. In the video, she reflects on her tracks that joined the Billions Club and thanks her supporters.

“I just want to say thank you to my fans because sometimes I can be a little bit hard on myself,” Cardi stated. She added, “I will never stop. I’m never gonna stop. The goal is never going to be reached because I’m always hungry for more.”

Cardi B’s “I Like It” with J Balvin and Bad Bunny as well as “WAP” with Megan Thee Stallion crossed the 1 billion stream mark. In addition, Cardi’s features on Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You” and DJ Snake’s “Taki Taki” earned her two more Billions Club entries.

“I Like It,” “WAP” and “Girls Like You” also topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Plus, Cardi scored No. 1 singles with “Bodak Yellow” (889 million Spotify streams) and “Up” (640 million Spotify streams).

While Cardi B racks up plays on Spotify, many of her fans still want to hear her unreleased sophomore album. However, the Grammy Award winner recently tweeted that a full-length project will not drop in 2024.

Ja Rule Fires Back At 50 Cent For Supporting Minnesota Timberwolves In 2024 NBA Playoffs

The animosity between Ja Rule and 50 Cent will likely never end. After feuding for 25 years over various issues, the two New York City representatives are currently beefing over the NBA playoffs.

“Oh s### [eyes emoji] don’t bet on the Knicks to win this next game. This janky ass [ninja emoji] put his juju all on the team. F### that I’m bet my money on the [Minnesota Timberwolves]!” 50 Cent tweeted about Ja on May 9.

The G-Unit founder also included a clip of a content creator begging Ja Rule not to publicly embrace the New York Knicks. Instagram personality Rayyy Rayyy even mentioned 50 Cent attending a Knicks game in his video.

On Wednesday morning (May 15), Ja Rule responded to 50 Cent’s May 9 tweet. The “Always on Time” hitmaker pointed out that the Timberwolves have lost three straight games to the Denver Nuggets.

“The Wolves haven’t won since this tweet!!! 50 you f###### MUSH. Ant-Man [Anthony Edwards] stay away from this goofy, he a fed anyway… [rolling on the floor laughing emoji] [orange heart emoji] [blue heart emoji],” Ja Rule tweeted.

The Denver Nuggets now lead the Minnesota Timberwolves three games to two in the Western Conference Semifinals. Ja Rule and 50 Cent’s hometown team, the New York Knicks, controls a 3-2 lead over the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Meek Mill Reacts To Getting Trolled Over Viral “Bunny Hop” Video

Meek Mill has had a rough week on the internet. For instance, social media users continue to make fun of the Philadelphia native for a 2021 viral video.

In the clip posted by billionaire Micheal Rubin, Meek Mill can be seen jumping up and down on a tennis court. Rubin also tells the rapper to count out loud.

An X user responded to one of Meek’s tweets by reposting the “bunny hop” video asking, “How much did they pay you to do this?” The Expensive Pain album creator then addressed the topic.

“This [is] a game I started from prison. We used to make killers do bunny hops when they [lost] because it was too hostile for money,” Meek Mill claimed.

The 37-year-old entertainer also wrote, “This be us!!! Ima get Rubin to bunny hop for me okay lol. Ima teach him [the] DThang hop!” Meek returned to X nearly eight hours later with more to say about the Micheal Rubin video.

“Do a history check, me, NBA players, and most rappers I know was playing this game and we all was posting it,” Meek Mill tweeted. “The plan was to actually make a billionaire bunny hop but I lost.”

The Reform Alliance founding partner concluded, “The media used that as a vocal point… Did everybody forget or is it because it’s a white man?”

Questlove Responds To Backlash Over His Criticism Of 2Pac’s “Hit ‘Em Up”

There have been a lot of conversations about Hip-Hop diss tracks in recent weeks. For example, Questlove shared his opinion about 2Pac’s classic “Hit ‘Em Up” from 1996.

“I would actually respect 2Pac’s ‘Hit ‘Em Up’ if his music tracking was better,” Questlove argued on the One Song Podcast. Pac used that song to slam The Notorious B.I.G. and his Junior M.A.F.I.A. crew.

The Roots drummer also said, “‘Hit ‘Em Up,’ to me, is disqualified, not because of the misogynist… forget all that. It’s like, ‘Dude, you’re rhyming over smooth jazz dinner music.’”

Questlove received online backlash for his comments about 2Pac’s diss record. The 53-year-old musician took to Instagram to clarify his remarks about the late rap star.

“Lol woke up to a grip of ‘what did Dennis Edwards/Pac do to you?!’ texts,” Quest wrote on his Instagram page. “I’m speaking of the musical backdrop of that record (‘Hit Em Up’).”

He added, “I feel like my words were taken outta context from that interview so I’m making it clear that I was never a fan of that particular musical interpretation of ‘Don’t Look Any Further.’”

Questlove also doubled down on his critique of beefing in Hip-Hop. Additionally, he responded to social media users calling him a hypocrite. In 2001, Quest performed with Jay-Z for the Brooklyn MC’s 2001 MTV Unplugged episode.

“Still mostly not a fan of [diss] records mostly because having lived in that period (mid-90s). I never seen any good results from Hip-Hop beef,” Questlove posted on Instagram.

Chip Shuts Down Central Cee Beef Rumors With New “C Freestyle”

North London grime legend Chip has shut down rumors of a Central Cee beef with a new track, a spin on the “CC Freestyle,” that started the speculation.

Last Friday, May (10), Central Cee surprised fans with a new song over an iconic grime beat produced by Flukes that samples Whitney Houston’s classic “I Have Nothing.”  While the rising star of the U.K. rap scene took a few shots at his rivals, including Digga D, fans were more stunned by Cench’s decision to hop on a grime beat.

So, when grime veteran Chip teased his own freestyle on the same beat just days later, many fans believed he was about to diss Central Cee. As if the beat and the timing weren’t enough to spark rumors of tension, the U.K. rap legend touting his credentials in the teaser and his caption had fans on the edge of their seats.

“Ask anybody born after ‘95 who made them wanna jump on grime they tell you it’s me,” Chip raps in the snippet.

“IT CAN GET GRIMEY,” Chip wrote alongside the clip.

“Need to see Chip put Central Cee in his place,” one fan replied to Chip, adding a prayer emoji. “Central Cee count your days my guy,” wrote another.

However, Chip ended the speculation, posting a photo with Central Cee to announce his new track. Furthermore, Chip clarified there’s no bad blood and features Central Cee in the “C Freestyle” video.

“I ain’t one of them olders hating, I tell Central that I rate him,” Chip raps “His progression’s motivating.”

Shannon Sharpe “Ready To Move On” After Shaq Dropped Diss Track

Shannon Sharpe won’t be responding to Shaq’s diss track anytime soon.

While Shaquille O’Neal’ borrowed a leaf out of Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s book, taking his beef to the booth after clashing with Sharpe over a Nikola Jokić interview, the Club Shay Shay host has put the war of words behind him.

On Monday evening (May 13) Shannon Sharpe addressed the feud on the Webby Awards red carpet, insisting he has nothing to say to Shaq.

“I mean, I don’t have no problem with Shaq,” Sharpe explained to PEOPLE. “He said what he said, I’m ready to move on.”

Tension arose between the fellow athletes-turned-talking heads after Sharpe accused Shaq of being envious of Jokić for winning a third NBA MVP Award.

In response, the former Lakers star, a one-time MVP winner, belittled the Pro Football Hall of Famer in a lengthy Instagram caption.

“4 rings three finals Mvp top 50 and top 75. google me,” Shaq wrote. “All this new success you got, you still under me.”

Meanwhile, Shannon Sharp fired back, claiming he never professed to be as great as Shaq. Despite Sharpe’s insistence that there was no beef, Shaq replied with a diss track.

Posting the song on Instagram Shaq said “Now i’m done with this,” and was headed to the Bahamas. Furthermore, Shaq refused to allow anybody to mediate for them.

“You can never break the UNBreakable,” he added. “And to all the people that kno both of us don’t call me, it will never [be] a sit down.”

Yung Miami Denies Shading JT Over Sukihana Beef: “We Don’t Have A Problem”

Yung Miami lost it with fans claiming she shaded her City Girls partner JT over her ongoing feud with Sukihana.

On Tuesday (May 14), Miami responded to a fan on X (formerly Twitter) who posted a meme of JT. “HOE… THE THINGS THAT YOU’VE LIED ABOUT,” they wrote alongside the meme.

Yung Miami clapped back, asking, “B#### DO WE HAVE A PROBLEM?????” before another fan intervened.

“Don’t p### me off rn Miami. You know exactly why ppl jumping at you as much as you be on social media. You always play this lost character in every situation you start. Cut it out,” they added.

While the fan didn’t name names, Yung Miami insisted she and JT squashed their recent beef.

“P### you off?” she replied, adding that she doesn’t know them. “I SPOKE TO JT ME AND HER TALKED WE DON’T HAVE A PROBLEM it’s yall leave me tf alone!!!!”

The City Girl fan doubled back, claiming supporters have concerns about the group breaking up. “I’m sure you can understand why fans feel like you was trying to be shady towards jt with that Gif! It did not look good to fans thats already on edge about the City Girls as a group,” they said.

The backlash came after City Girls fans noticed Yung Miami responded to an Instagram post about Sukihana’s JT diss

Three Men Shot On Set Of Lil Baby Video Shoot In Atlanta

Lil Baby was filming a music video in Atlanta when gunfire erupted, leaving three men injuring in the shooting and residents fearing for their lives.

The rapper was shooting the video near a commercial strip in northwest Atlanta on Tuesday (May 14), per Fox 5 Atlanta. Lil Baby was captured on video by a local taco store, apparently arriving at the shoot hours before the shooting.

Multiple witnesses say Lil Baby was in the area during the shooting but was not injured. However, Atlanta police report three men were shot and are all expected to survive. When cops arrived on the scene, they found a 27-year-old man who had been shot in the back and a 24-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the arm.

Officials also discovered a 23-year-old man had been transported to hospital with a gunshot wound to the neck.

Atlanta police also confirmed that the injured men are not believed to have been on Lil Baby’s production team. Nonetheless, cops said there may have been “individuals involved in the totality of the production that were involved in the incident.”

Chasity Roman of Slapping Tacos ATL told Fox 5 she was delivering a burito when she the shooting began. “I fell in between the bullets. It was nothing but bullets, pow pow pow! It was terrible.”

She added, “It was just a concert. I was waiting for Lil Baby to come buy my tacos up.”

The Riddler’s Chaos: Is Drake’s Super Troll A Big Ol’ Fake?

I can’t lie. I am tired of all the fanfare surrounding Drake, Kendrick Lamar and the Riddler. I’m here to clear the air a bit about this gentleman who has caused much calamity and chaos in the last few days. However, to be completely transparent and fair, it seems like this person might be a fraud. He might violate laws prohibiting extortion.

“The Riddler” Possibly Still Trolling Drake—And It’s Getting Uglier

One thing is for sure and two things are certain: extortion is illegal. Anyone attempting to fleece money out of Drake will pay the consequences. By the way, it doesn’t seem like Drake is concerned about this in any way. That said, the internet has determined that this guy may be full of it.

Another thing is that they have allegedly identified him. Extorting somebody and then being identified by the internet is not a good look. For legal reasons, I will not post his picture or reveal his identity, but I am quite sure that legal authorities know who he is by now. Anyway, I’m still not exactly sure what’s going on, but this guy seems to be harassing Drake at this point. I don’t believe there’s a sinister way for him to get favor or money from Drake this way. Some people have refuted his story, and it has generally died down.

What I find hard to understand is how he obtained Drake’s stuff, and did he actually obtained it. Some have even suggested that he may have gone so far as to recreate Drake’s effects. I find that hard to believe because so much of the documentation is verified as real, according to the Internet, of course.

So, where does that leave us? I don’t know. For now, the memes continue, the jokes persist, but the drama has subsided greatly.

It was “fun” while it lasted.
