Jon B: Pac’s Final Verse, Michael Jackson’s Call, Nas’s Pull-Up & 30 Years Of Classic R&B

Jon B is a rarity: a white artist in R&B who never compromised his craft for pop crossover. He stepped away from album-making for more than a decade to prioritize family, and now, returning to a transformed music landscape, he rises like a phoenix. Born Jonathan David Buck, Jon B is back with Waiting on You, a set steeped in classic soul. He brings along vibrant collaborators—Rick Ross, Tank, and Alex Isley—but the album, start to finish, is unmistakably Jon B.

AllHipHop’s Chuck Creekmur—aka Jigsaw—sat down with the R&B mainstay at WonWorld Studios for a conversation that feels both like a reunion and a reset. Fresh off the release of his album Waiting on You, Jon is in classic form—writer, producer, vocalist—reaffirming the warm, soul-first sound that made Bonafide a touchstone in 1995 and still packs venues today.

In this candid talk, the singer revisits a pivotal era when Hip-Hop and R&B learned to share the same room, revealing how his studio session with Tupac, Pac’s final recorded verse, helped push the line authentically. He salutes mentors and peers (Babyface, Nas, Tank, Donell Jones, Rick Ross) and spotlights rising collaborator Alex Isley, whose tone he calls timeless.

Beyond credits, Jon centers authenticity. He was reared in a classical music household, a lifetime steeped in Black music culture and an 18-year marriage that grounds the star between sold-out weekends and school-day routines. Jon B makes a powerful case for R&B that grows up without growing dull. Watch the full interview below or some of the highlights in the edited transcript.

Tupac: The Studio, The Blessing, The Last Verse

Jon B: “Hip-hop and R&B weren’t really fused yet. We didn’t give people a choice…‘take it or leave it.’ Tupac being on the record changed everybody’s mind.”

In the lab with Pac: “We were in the studio two weeks before he went to Vegas, three or four hours in and we were already halfway done. As tough as his persona was, Pac was the nicest, most diligent worker. He was cutting another song in the next room while working on mine.”

Afeni’s green light: “I was reluctant to put it out after he died, didn’t want to exploit my man. Afeni Shakur told me, ‘My son loved that song. He wanted it to come out.’ That’s what made me release it.”

Creative push: “I’d drift from the melody and Pac would lock me in, ‘Nah, it goes like this…’ He coached and produced me too.”

Babyface & The 18-Year-Old Major-Label Run

Jon B: “Babyface was and is a mentor—vocally and musically. Signing to Yab Yum Entertainment with Tracy Edmonds opened the door to Epic Records. I was 18 walking into Sony like, ‘Whoa’…publishing deal, record deal, Learjet flights to New York.”

Michael Jackson: Remix + Phone Call

Jon B: “I remixed ‘You Are Not Alone’—they didn’t ask many people. Michael called the studio: ‘I love it—it’s different from the original and I like it.’ Later I shook his hand at the BRITs. He’s the goat of goats—my first favorite artist.”

Nas Pulled Up to the House: “Finer Things”

Jon B: “Nas came to my spot—we’re playing pool, chilling. I play him the beat. He goes, ‘That’s some male Sade—smooth. I can rock over that.’
He wrote the song twice. First version was dope; he said, ‘I hate it, I’ll redo it.’ The second time, he asked for names, cars, visuals—turned it cinematic.”

“If I was your man, your knowledge would expand till we both are equal… There’s three things on my list… Number one, you got to be real… Number two, be who you are… Number three, give me peace and I’ll show you the world.” —Nas on “Finer Things” as recited by Jon B

Authenticity, Race, and Kicking Down Doors

Jon B: “Early on my complexion was a challenge, people made jokes. I didn’t see other artists in my lane getting that. I feel like I knocked down walls so the next man didn’t have to.
Before there was a Justin Timberlake or Robin Thicke, I’d already dropped three R&B albums with platinum singles. This isn’t dress-up. I’ve lived R&B and Hip-Hop since junior high.”

The New Album: Classic Soul with Heavy Friends

Jon B: “Waiting on You is me bringing it back to what you know me for. Guests include Rick Ross, Donell Jones, Tank, and Alex Isley (Ernie Isley’s daughter).

Tank pulled up to my studio. I asked which verse he wanted—he said, ‘You bodied those. Let me put a bridge on it.’ Then he gave it the bridge of life-piano, strings-uplifted the record.
Alex has this classic, Sade-esque subtlety but her own jazziness. She heard a joint and cut it exactly as I wrote it. That’s the best compliment to a songwriter.”

Marriage, Family, and the Business That Actually Works

Jon B: “I’ve been married 18 years—two daughters (18 and 11). My wife is my manager—clothes, videos, bookings. If it wasn’t for her, this might not be the same interview.
We keep it classy, no reality shows, but we did our first magazine cover together and hit Sherri and Tamron Hall to celebrate our 18th.
Real talk: a lot of rappers managed by their wives are the ones doing well. Corporations can take 20% and not really pull for you. Your wife will, because it’s her household too.”

30 Years In—And Still Selling Out

Jon B: “Thirty years since Bonafide—shows are sold out, people singing album cuts that weren’t singles. I’m going to sing my heart out until I can’t. The celebration continues.”

August Alsina Defends His Relationship With Younger Boyfriend—Slams Grooming Accusations

August Alsina shut down grooming accusations and confirmed his relationship with rumored boyfriend Zu, after a photo post sparked backlash over their age gap and timeline.

The New Orleans native, who turns 33 later this month, faced criticism online after hinting he and Zu have been together for nearly five years. That detail led social media users to question when the relationship began, prompting Zu to directly address the speculation.

“I’m a grown ass man, with his own mind and free will,” Zu wrote in a lengthy Notes app message shared to social media. “I met August when I was already of age, an adult. Aug didn’t even know me when I was 16 or 17…not sure where that came from.”

He confirmed their romantic relationship, adding, “Yea there’s a slight age difference but y’all pick and chooses who to judge when it comes to that. We will have known each other for 5 years toward the end of the year, so he’s speaking in future terms because that’s where we plan to make it.” He ended the post with, “Hope this clears up any confusion.”

But the internet didn’t quiet down.

One user commented, “‘August is my boyfriend’ gone head and clear the AIR for anyone confused.”

Others remained skeptical, questioning the maturity gap and timing.

One critic wrote, “it really doesn’t babe regardless if he met you at 18 or 19 you weren’t grown and he was grown as the f###.”

Zu clapped back, “Awwwe cry me a river.”

The exchange continued with the critic responding, “i’m not sad i wasn’t groomed or dating a predator i like people in my age group.”

Zu replied, “Everybody entitled to the opinion, ik what it is..and I’m living the greatest life.”

August Alsina Weighs In Following Backlash

Another user added, “This don’t clear up anything. If anything makes y’all sound more guilty.”

Alsina didn’t stay silent. He fired back in a separate post, writing, “Guilty? This word implies that you thought yall held some sort of court or dominion over two grown ass people to be judged for some sort of outcome…. The level of delusion and narcissism yall live in is psychotic! Yall don’t even hold authority in your own life… let alone, MINE! Heal & pay ya rent family!”

He also revealed, “Zu lied to me about how old he was when we first clicked up. Granted, he was over 18… but the fact still remains. & I found out later, upon meeting the family.”

Alsina dismissed the “predator” label and made it clear that Zu is with him by choice. “Play somewhere, where it’s safe,” he added, telling critics to stay out of their relationship.

Donald Trump’s Hair Has Internet Running Wild With Conspiracies

Donald Trump’s hair and health are the internet’s latest obsession and the theories are wilder than ever.

The internet has been set ruminating over speculation after new photos of the former president surfaced, showing him looking noticeably different. Social media wasted no time letting the jokes fly. Comments like “Where is his hair?,” “That is not a healthy man,” and “Grim Reaper do your thing” spread like wildfire, making Trump the reluctant star of another viral storm.

Trump disappeared from public view for a few days, which only created more conspiracy. When he finally popped back up, the pictures didn’t do him any favors. His hair appeared thinner. Some even said that wig is gone! Axnd that familiar orange glow seemed dimmer than usual. The hat he wore looked tight enough to be covering something. Some of the comments I saw wondered if Trumpy had quietly gone bald.

I know you heard this next rumor. A lot of folks online are convinced he’s dealing with some kind of health crisis. His hand, which has been photographed a lot, looks like it has a recurring growth. Theories are running laps around the truth, which we do not know. They go from minor illness to something far more serious. One extreme MAGA commented, “Cut that hand off, damn it!” They want to save the president. A lot of people do not want that.

The Trump doppelgänger theory made its way back to the front. Some claim the man seen on the golf course yesterday wasn’t him at all, just a stand-in double keeping up appearances while the real Trump rests. The man is almost 80. Those naps get longer and longer…until the big nap.

Seriously, the timing couldn’t be worse. While the world deals with mass shootings, wars and global instability, Trump’s priority seemed to be hitting the golf course. Is there something we should know?

We are in the distraction era.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Shocking Weight Loss Starts Rumors, Truth Prevails

The first thing I saw was, “He’s not on ‘roids anymore.” The internet can be a terrible place. So began my trip to find the truth in the rumors.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson traded in his normally giant physique for a leaner look at the Venice Film Festival. Like the internet dark places I peruse, audiences were stunned. The 53-year-old wrestler-turned-actor slimmed-down for his role as MMA legend Mark Kerr in the new film “The Smashing Machine.”

The transformation was like a shot across the world. Somehow, I think it was apart of the marketing of this movie. I had not heard of it until now. Also, it could be his run and being taken seriously as a thespian. At Saturday’s Miu Miu Women’s Tales event, The Rock stepped out in a blue button-up and black trouser. He has not looked like this in decades. He was joined by co-star Emily Blunt, who plays Kerr’s ex-wife, Dawn Staples.

Social media immediately started calling him “The Pebble.” Honestly, I think the jokes are corny, because “The Rock” is still a big dude. I am sure he could bust a couple skulls if needed. But that’s another story.

The film tells the story of Kerr’s rise in UFC and MMA and his struggles with prescription drug addiction. But according to Johnson, the story cuts deeper than cage fights.

At a Monday press conference, Johnson opened up about taking on the most challenging role of his career. “When you’re in Hollywood — as we all know, it had become about box office. And you chase the box office, and the box office can be very loud and it can become very resounding and it can push you into a category and into a corner,” he said.

“I just had this burning desire and voice that was saying, ‘What if there is more and what if I can?’” Johnson continued. “Sometimes it takes people that who you love and respect, like Emily and Benny, to say that you can.”

He admitted the role forced him to confront questions he’d avoided. “I looked around a few years ago and I started to think, you know, am I living my dream or am I living other people’s dreams? You come to that recognition and I think you can either fall in line — ‘Well, it’s status quo, things are good, I don’t want to rock the boat’ — or go, I want to live my dreams now and do what I wanna do and tap into the stuff that I want to tap into.”

This reminds me of Sly Stallone in “Copland.” That was a good movie but did not turn him into that heavy actor he sought to be. Hopefully The Rock gets some grace.

“I’ve been scared to go deep and intense and raw until now, until I had this opportunity,” he said at the press conference. Dame Dash would pause him, but we’re going to let it slide.

“The Smashing Machine” is set to hit theaters Oct. 3.

Taylor Davis Reveals She’s A Hip-Hop Head After Viral Drake Video

Taylor Davis rapped along to Drake during a college football game and unintentionally went viral, later revealing she’s a lifelong Hip-Hop head.

The ESPN sideline reporter was caught on camera during Southern Miss’s 34-17 loss to Mississippi State at M.M. Roberts Stadium in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

As Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode” blared through the stadium speakers, Davis didn’t miss a beat, mouthing every word of Drake’s verse with full energy.

Another clip surfaced showing her vibing to a Nicki Minaj track, posted by Southern Miss DJ Kujho Carr, who gave her a shoutout on social media.

The moment quickly gained traction online, prompting Davis to explain her love for Hip-Hop on the SEC State of Mind podcast hosted by former Auburn quarterback Jason Campbell.

“You know what, it’s something that really surprises people about me that all I listen to is rap,” Davis said. “I’m originally from a small town in Alabama, I went to Auburn, I live in Nashville, and I don’t listen to country music. I listen to rap and Hip-Hop.”

She added, “My memory is pretty good, so my lyrical prowess just comes out every now and then. Especially pregame when I’m getting in the zone.”

While Davis admitted the video made her “a little embarrassed,” she stood by the moment, calling it “a little cringe” but true to who she is. “I was just being myself,” she said.

Instagram users flooded her comments with praise, celebrating her word-for-word delivery and encouraging her to keep doing her thing.

Davis joined ESPN in 2014 as a production assistant and content associate.

She worked behind the scenes for four years before stepping into the spotlight in 2018.

She now covers college football in the fall and college gymnastics in the spring across multiple ESPN platforms.

Angie Stone Tragic Final Moments Revealed In Lawsuit Against Trucking Company

Angie Stone died in a violent highway crash after a tractor-trailer slammed into an overturned van she was trying to escape, according to a wrongful death lawsuit filed by her children.

The 63-year-old R&B icon was returning to Atlanta from a performance in Mobile, Alabama, on March 1, 2025, when the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van she was riding in flipped on Interstate 65 in Montgomery County.

The van had nine people onboard and came to a stop in the left northbound lane with its lights still on.

Good Samaritans helped five passengers out of the vehicle, but Angie Stone and another passenger, Sheila Hopkins, were still trying to exit when a tractor-trailer barreled into the van at nearly 70 miles per hour.

Hopkins survived with serious injuries. Stone was thrown from the van and pinned underneath it. She died at the scene.

The truck, owned by CRST, was being driven by Jared Wilkinson, who was allegedly wearing headphones and listening to music at the time of the incident. The lawsuit claims the truck’s collision mitigation system failed to activate, preventing the brakes from engaging before impact.

Stone’s children are suing Wilkinson, CRST and the manufacturer of the safety system for negligence and product failure. The complaint also names the driver and owner of the van, as well as several Georgia-based companies involved in operating the vehicle.

Stone was the only person killed in the crash. The others suffered minor or no injuries.

Known for her soulful voice and chart-topping hits like “No More Rain (In This Cloud)” and “Wish I Didn’t Miss You,” Stone earned Grammy nominations and left a lasting mark on the Hip-Hop and R&B scenes.

Justin Bieber Drops “Swag II,” Song With Hurricane Chris Shocks Fans

Justin Bieber delivered his second surprise album of 2025 with a 44-track double release called Swag II, but not before a brief delay left his followers refreshing their screens in frustration.

The 31-year-old pop star had teased the project on Thursday by posting images of its bubblegum-pink cover, which was plastered across billboards and global landmarks.

The album was slated to hit streaming services at midnight on Friday, but when it didn’t appear on time, some of his most loyal listeners took to social media to vent.

Bieber responded in real time, sharing a screenshot of a text to his manager asking, “Where the album was,” and captioned it, “It’s comingggggg (sic).”

He followed up with more posts, writing, “Me waiting with u, not baiting u, not sure wut the f**kkyyy is going on clicking refreshhhhhh (sic)” and, “I’m sorry for the wait their (sic) telling me any second.”

Roughly an hour after midnight in California, Swag II finally went live across platforms. Bieber confirmed the drop by posting screenshots from Spotify, Apple Music and other services.

And oddly enough, one of the biggest talked about songs was not his collabation with Gunna, Sexyy Redd, Druski, Tems, Lil B, or Bakar, it was his cut “POPPIN’ MY S***” with Shreveport rapper, Hurricane Chris.

The new project follows Swag, a 21-track album released just two months ago with no advance notice. Swag II more than doubles that output, clocking in at 2 hours and 11 minutes.

The album includes features from Tems, Bakar, Hurricane Chris, Lil B, Eddie Benjamin, Gunna, Sexyy Red and comedian Druski, among others.

This marks the first time the “Baby” singer has released two albums in the same calendar year. Before Swag in July, his last studio album was 2021’s Justice.

Swag II officially dropped on September 5, 2025.

Young Thug Drags Andre 3000 As Leaked Audio Scandal Continues To Plague Atlanta Rap Scene

Young Thug’s week of hell continues to burn after more leaked jailhouse recordings were released featuring him taking aim at another Atlanta rap legend – André 3000.

Thug accused OutKast founder of failing to support emerging talent and calling his legacy irrelevant in today’s charts. In the audio, Young Thug claimed André 3000 was irrelevant.

“André 3000, you’re one of the biggest artists in the world. You became one of the biggest artists in the world. But you ain’t help nobody. You ain’t put nobody on,” he said.

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/PieVFx\_tf\_0?feature=share

The Atlanta rapper, who made the comments while awaiting trial in the YSL RICO case, went further, dismissing André’s current musical relevance.

“Now you vintage. Now you g###### can’t put out a song and go top 50. You see what I’m saying? You put a song out right now, you can’t even go top 50.”

Thug also questioned the real-world impact of André’s music, saying, “All that cap rap s###, that rap s### don’t mean nothing. In 10, 15 years, that s### don’t mean nothing.”

The criticism wasn’t new. Over the years, Thug has repeatedly distanced himself from André’s influence. In a past interview, he admitted, “I’ve never paid attention to him. Never in my life.”

He also once described working with André as difficult, citing the rapper’s selective nature and reluctance to collaborate.

The leaked call is part of a growing list of recordings from Thug’s time behind bars that have stirred controversy.

In other instances, he criticized Gunna for allegedly contributing to the RICO case, mocked Glorilla’s appearance, and dissed Quality Control boss CEO Pierre “P by accusing him of being a rat.

Thug later apologized for his remarks about GloRilla, saying he was “going through it” and didn’t usually speak to women in that manner.

Drake Rebrands Himself “Slizzy Drizzy” On New Cash Cobain Track With PND

Drake linked up with Cash Cobain and PARTYNEXTDOOR for a spicy new track called “Somebody Loves Me Pt. 2” and brought a whole new alias with him—say hello to “Slizzy Drizzy.”

The track, which dropped Friday (September 5), popped up during Drake’s two-hour Iceman 3 livestream and features Cash’s signature drill vibe.

Built off a flip of the original “Somebody Loves Me” from Drake and PND’s latest joint project, this updated version leans into the sultry, off-kilter sound that’s made Cash one of the most talked-about names in New York.

Drake throws in a slick bar—”I’m Slizzy Drizzy baby you know how I rock”—in a nod to Cash Cobain’s Slizzy movement.

The release caps off a packed summer for Cash Cobain, who’s been everywhere lately.

He linked with Justin Bieber for the title track on SWAG, dropped the baile funk-inspired “Feeeeeeeeel” that had TikTok dancing nonstop, and finally gave fans the long-awaited “Hoes Be Mad.”

All this is leading up to Cash Cobain’s next drop, Party With Slizzy.

Ciara Rebrands Future’s Son With Russell Wilson’s Last Name Reactions Fly

Ciara triggered a debate after calling her son with Future, “Future Wilson,” at the US Open with her husband, Russell Wilson.

It all started with a cute family pic — but she called her son “Future Wilson” in the caption. That one name drop had social media going wild.

Her oldest kid, Future Zahir Wilburn, was born back in May 2014. Ciara’s had full custody for a minute. Ciara legally added “Wilson” to her son’s name in 2019, just three years after marrying Russell in 2016.

Zahir’s full legal name includes both Wilburn and Wilson. So, she didn’t erase Future from the birth certificate. And Russell hasn’t officially adopted the boy.

Still, that “Future Wilson” caption got people heated. Some folks said it felt like a slap to Future’s legacy. Others called it a beautiful move for a blended fam that’s clearly tight-knit.

Either way, it got people talking hard about step-parenting, co-parenting and where the lines get blurry.

“Russell been with Ciara since baby Future was 9 months old. That ain’t nobody baby but Russell baby,” one user noted. Another said: “Too many people out here that don’t even have their father’s last name commenting on Ciara/Russell/Future. It’s okay to be quiet sometimes, even if you don’t agree.”

Ciara and Russell have three more kids together — Sienna Princess, Win Harrison and their youngest, Amora Princess.

Havoc Confirms Mobb Deep’s First Album Since Prodigy’s Death Is Finished & Coming Soon

Havoc has officially wrapped a new Mobb Deep album featuring unreleased vocals from the late Prodigy and production from longtime collaborator The Alchemist.

“We got a new Mobb Deep album on the way,” Havoc revealed, adding that the project includes “official” verses from both himself and Prodigy. “This s### is official. It’s done. S### is mixed, mastered, ready to go.”

The album, titled Infinite, marks the duo’s first full-length release since 2014 and the first since Prodigy’s passing in 2017.

It’s part of Mass Appeal’s Legend Has It… series, curated by Nas, which celebrates Hip-Hop icons through unreleased and archival material.

Havoc revealed how the project came together, crediting The Alchemist for helping bring it to life.

“When we first started working on the album, I flew out to LA. Started f###### with Alchemist, because Alchemist probably got a ton of Prodigy verses,” he explained. “Had some s###. So it was only right that I teamed up with him, because, you know, Al’s family, so that’s how we did that s###.”

The Alchemist, who co-produced the entire album with Havoc, teased the project earlier this year.

“They did so much work, it was insane,” he said of Mobb Deep. “You could just peel back layers in Prodigy’s rhymes. He was ahead of his time.”

Alchemist continued, “P’s legend lives. He did more than the average person while he was here, and he even left behind a lot of stuff so we’re lucky enough to be working on a new Mobb Deep project.”

Latto & Ice Spice Set Record Straight On New Collab “Gyatt”

Latto and Ice Spice brought the internet to a standstill Thursday night (September 4) after joining Kai Cenat on his Twitch stream to celebrate their new single “GYATT” and casually confirm they’ve buried the hatchet after years of rumored tension.

The two rappers danced along to their track, laughed through a live reaction to the music video and dodged Cenat’s relentless questions about how their collaboration came to life.

“Who put it together?” Cenat asked, fishing for details. Latto didn’t give him much.

“I feel like it’s cooler when it’s just up for speculation. Everybody wanna know how it happened,” she said, brushing off the question.

Cenat kept pressing, but Latto stayed firm. “I think it kills the mystique,” she added. “It’s like I’m not going to tell you the ending of the movie. You got to just watch.”

Ice Spice eventually offered a little more insight.

“She sent me a song, it’s Latto’s song,” she explained. “It’s really really cute. I loved it. Once I heard it, I was like, ‘Yo, duh.’ I did it and I sent it back to her.”

A post shared by Watch Live Bitez (@livebitez)

The livestream marked the first time the two appeared together publicly since the surprise drop of “GYATT” on Wednesday (September 3).

The track, named after the viral slang term for a curvy backside, features cheeky bars and subtle nods to their past drama. Latto even throws in a poop joke aimed at Ice Spice — a line some listeners think might still carry a little shade.

Latto, Ice Spice – GYATT

Before teaming up, both artists had taken subliminal jabs at each other online and in their lyrics, fueling years of speculation about a feud. The new single, however, signals a shift — or at least a truce — that many see as a win for female rap unity.

Still, not everyone is convinced the beef is over. Some critics believe Latto’s verse might still be throwing light jabs, despite the collaboration.

Cenat didn’t stop at the music. He also tried to get Latto to spill on her long-rumored relationship with 21 Savage, especially after the two were reportedly spotted vacationing together.

“When you say ‘My man,’ who are we referring to?” Cenat asked, quoting one of Latto’s lyrics.

Latto wasn’t having it. “Why? Why do that matter so much?” she said, as Ice Spice rolled her eyes. “I be fighting for privacy and it’s like, damn. But it’s like, who supposed to know already know.”

YNW Bortlen Offered Shock Plea Deal After Facing Multiple Life Sentences

YNW Bortlen was handed a plea deal in a Florida courtroom that could wipe out two murder charges tied to the 2018 killings of YNW Sakchaser and YNW Juvy, if he agrees to plead no contest to six other serious charges.

The offer, presented by prosecutors Thursday (September 4), would drop the two first-degree murder counts against Bortlen—real name Cortlen Henry—in exchange for a plea to charges including accessory after the fact, conspiracy, witness tampering and gang-related activity.

If accepted, the deal would land him a 16-year, 3-month sentence to be served concurrently, with credit for time already served.

Rejecting the deal would put Bortlen at risk of multiple life sentences if convicted at trial.

Judge Martin S. Fein carefully explained the plea offer to Bortlen in court, stressing it is a business decision between him, his lawyers, and the state, with no pressure to accept.

The court scheduled a hearing for Tuesday (September 9), where Bortlen is expected to reveal whether he’ll take the deal or roll the dice at trial, which is set to begin the following day.

The case stems from the 2018 shooting deaths of YNW crew members Anthony “YNW Sakchaser” Williams and Christopher “YNW Juvy” Thomas Jr.

Prosecutors allege YNW Melly pulled the trigger and Bortlen helped cover it up.

Melly, who has been locked up in Broward County Jail since 2019, is awaiting retrial after his first trial ended in a mistrial. His new trial date has been pushed to January 2027.

In August, a federal judge denied his attempt to be released, rejecting claims that he was being unlawfully detained while awaiting retrial.

Mike Tyson Confirms Massive 2026 Fight With Floyd Mayweather

Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather Jr. are stepping into the ring together in early 2026 for an exhibition match organized by CSI Sports, pitting two of boxing’s most iconic names against each other in a spectacle that defies logic and weight classes.

Tyson, who will be nearly 60 at the time of the fight, and Mayweather, who turns 48 in February, have agreed to the non-sanctioned bout, which won’t impact Mayweather’s spotless 50-0 professional record.

The matchup is being billed as pure entertainment, not a competitive contest, especially given the wide gap in age, weight and fighting styles.

Mike Tyson Shocked Floyd Mayweather Accepted Bout

“When CSI came to me about stepping in the ring with Floyd Mayweather,” Tyson said in a press release. “I thought, ‘No way this happens,’ but Floyd said yes. This fight is something neither the world nor I ever thought would or could happen. However, boxing has entered a new era of the unpredictable—and this fight is as unpredictable as it gets. I still can’t believe Floyd wants to really do this. It’s going to be detrimental to his health, but he wants to do it, so it’s signed and it’s happening!”

Tyson, the former heavyweight terror with a 50-7 record and 44 knockouts, last fought in a 2024 exhibition loss to Jake Paul. Mayweather, who last fought professionally in 2017, has since taken part in several exhibition bouts, maintaining his brand and undefeated legacy.

“I’ve been doing this for 30 years, and there hasn’t been a single fighter that can tarnish my legacy,” Mayweather said. “You already know that if I am going to do something, it’s going to be big and it’s going to be legendary. I’m the best in the business of boxing. This exhibition will give the fans what they want.”

The physical mismatch is hard to ignore. Tyson typically walks around at 230 to 240 pounds, while Mayweather’s weight hovers near 150. Tyson’s reach is 71 inches, just an inch shorter than Mayweather’s 72, but the size and power disparity is significant

Rick Ross Trolls Drake Over “Iceman” Episode 3 Amid Lukewarm Fan Reaction

Rick Ross took aim at Drake and his latest musical experiment, mocking the rapper’s Iceman Episode 3 and even renaming the project “White Man” while roasting his longtime nemesis.

“Damn Champagne Papi, they say them songs that you just streamed off your new project ‘White Man’, they say that s### ain’t dope, the comments crazy,” Ross said, poking fun at the rollout and the lukewarm reception.

Ross also brought up Twitch star Kai Cenat, who didn’t mince words during his live reaction to the episode.

“Shout out to Kai Cenat, he kept it real,” Ross added. “Kai said that s### was ass.”

Cenat, who streamed his reaction during his Mafiathon 3 subathon, was visibly frustrated.

He called the episode “ass” and “the biggest waste of my f###### time.” He doubled down on his honesty, repeating, “I can’t fake it,” after spending 90 minutes watching what he clearly felt was a letdown.

Iceman Episode 3 premiered Thursday (September 4) and continued Drake’s cinematic rollout, this time live from Italy.

The episode featured new tracks with Yeat, Cash Cobain and Julia Wolf. One standout, “Somebody Who Loves Me Pt. 2,” featuring PARTYNEXTDOOR, leaned into themes of betrayal and loyalty.

Drake also appeared to address his public feud with Kendrick Lamar on “That’s Just How I Feel,” seemingly admitting he lost the battle.

“And I really did f### up the summer,” he raps. “Not the way I f##### up last summer.”

Drake Unveils “Iceman Episode 3”

The stream opened with Italian classic “Parole Parole” and followed Drake wandering around Milan, taking cryptic phone calls and receiving a mysterious file from Yeat.

The visuals included masked figures dressed as Pinocchio chasing him—imagery many interpreted as commentary on dishonesty in the music industry.

The episode ended with Drake seemingly giving up, then paying tribute to fashion icon Giorgio Armani, who died the same day.

EXCLUSIVE: Damon Dash Files For Bankruptcy To Get Breathing Room From $25M In Debt

Damon Dash filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in Florida as he seeks protection from more than $25 million in debts mostly tied to unpaid taxes, child support and legal judgments.

The 54-year-old Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder submitted a 56-page petition to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida on Thursday (September 4), listing just $4,350 in personal property.

That includes a $500 phone, $2,500 in jewelry, clothing, two firearms and $100 in cash. He reported monthly expenses of $5,200 and no income.

Court filings show Damon Dash owes over $8.7 million in back taxes to New York State and the IRS, with debts dating back to 2005. The New York State Department of Taxation and Finance alone is seeking $9.65 million, while Los Angeles County wants $5.79 million.

The New Jersey Division of Taxation is pursuing $3.5 million from the early 2000s, bringing the total to over $19 million that is due to the Federal Government.

Damon Dash also owes more than $647,000 in unpaid child and spousal support, including obligations to ex-wife Rachel Roy and Cindy Morales. The New York City Department of Social Services claims another $487,000 in arrears and educational costs.

The filing includes over $5.5 million in unsecured claims, comprising lawsuits, unpaid wages and legal fees. Among the creditors are filmmaker Josh Webber and Muddy Waters Pictures, who won a $4 million default judgment against Dash in 2025 over the film Dear Frank.

Photographer Monique Bunn is owed $30,000. Producer Edwyna Brooks is listed at $78,000, while attorney Christopher Brown is owed $100,000.

Government agencies are listed as Dash’s largest secured creditors. He disclosed that his business entities — including Dash Films Inc., Poppington LLC and Roc-A-Fella Films Inc. — currently hold no value.

In 2024, New York officials auctioned Dash’s one-third stake in Roc-A-Fella Records for about $1 million to help pay off his tax bill. However, proceeds were redirected to cover back taxes to New York and $145,096 in child support, leaving other creditors unpaid.

The court has not yet scheduled a creditors’ meeting. If approved, the case could result in the liquidation of Dash’s remaining assets.

This isn’t exactly shocking. Damon himself told the court through lawyers that he was considering making this move, which could turn out to be a shrewd business move.

Chapter 7 bankruptcy offers individuals the opportunity to hit the reset button when debt becomes unmanageable.

It clears away most unsecured bills, such as credit cards, medical expenses, or payday loans, in just a few months. Once that happens, collectors can’t call, sue, or garnish wages.

The process also alleviates stress immediately by automatically pausing collections, foreclosures, or evictions. Most people don’t lose much, if anything, because the law allows them to keep the essentials they need, such as a car, household items, retirement savings, and sometimes even a portion of their home equity.

Unlike Chapter 13, there’s no long repayment plan—often referred to as a “no-asset” case because creditors receive nothing at all.

While a Chapter 7 filing remains on a credit report for up to ten years, many people begin rebuilding their credit within a year or two, as the heavy debt is eliminated.

In short, it’s a quick way to get relief, keep what matters most, and start fresh.

Cardi B Says She’s Sole Provider For Her Kids

Cardi B revealed that she’s the “only provider” for her three children with Offset, while juggling single motherhood and the upcoming release of her second album, Am I the Drama?, set to arrive on September 19.

The Bronx-born rapper filed for divorce from the Migos rapper in July 2024. Just a day later, she announced she was expecting their third child. The couple shares three children: 7-year-old daughter Kulture, 4-year-old son Wave and baby Blossom, who turns one this week.

In a new interview with Billboard, Cardi didn’t hold back when reflecting on her role as a mother and provider.

“I do everything for my kids. I’m the only provider and you know what? Ain’t no complaining about it,” she said. “I love them so much and they ground me. Sometimes I be so exhausted and it’s not even about work, it’s just life. If you think when you get rich you’re going to stop working, you’re never going to stop working.”

The Grammy winner said motherhood has reshaped her identity, calling it the moment she became a “real woman.” Despite the luxury her children are growing up in, Cardi said she’s committed to instilling values of discipline and appreciation.

“To this day, I still talk about how hard my mom worked. I had a very rough childhood, but my mom always made sure we ain’t go to no shelter. I want my kids to be like, ‘My mom made sure I had everything that I wanted,'” she said.

While the divorce and custody arrangements between Cardi and Offset remain unresolved, she’s also been focused on her long-awaited sophomore album. Her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, dropped in 2018.

“I always knew that I was going to drop a second album, I just didn’t have a project well put together,” she explained. “My fans be like, ‘Oh, you should have put a project together when WAP and Up was out,’ but I only had four records that I liked. I didn’t have an album done around that time. I’m not the kind of person that’s going to lock in (for) two months and complete an album. I’m very picky with my music.”

Paris Jackson Says Michael Jackson Biopic Filled With “Full Blown Lies”

Paris Jackson called out actor Colman Domingo for falsely claiming she supported the upcoming Michael biopic, saying the film is riddled with “full-blown lies” and she had “0% involvement.”

The 27-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson took to Instagram Stories to correct Domingo, who recently told People that Paris and her brother Prince were “very much in support” of the film and that he had “chatted briefly” with Paris.

Domingo plays Joe Jackson, the Jackson family patriarch, in the Antoine Fuqua-directed project. Paris didn’t mince words.

“Don’t be telling people I was ‘helpful’ on the set of a movie I had 0% involvement in lol that is so weird,” she wrote, tagging Domingo directly.

She followed up by explaining that her feedback on the film’s early script was ignored, prompting her to walk away from the project altogether.

“I read one of the first drafts of the script and gave my notes about what was dishonest/didn’t sit right with me, and when they didn’t address it I moved on with my life,” she said. “Not my monkeys, not my circus. God bless and God speed.”

In a series of videos, the actress and singer made it clear she distanced herself from the film after raising concerns about what she called dishonest storytelling and sugarcoated portrayals.

“There’s a lot of inaccuracy and a lot of just full-blown lies and at the end of the day, that doesn’t really fly with me,” she said. “I don’t like dishonesty. I spoke up, I wasn’t heard, I f**ked off. That’s it.”

Paris also addressed why she had remained mostly silent until now.

“A big reason why I haven’t said anything up until this point is because I know a lot of you guys are gonna be happy with it,” she said. “The film panders to a very specific section of my dad’s fandom that still lives in the fantasy and they’re gonna be happy with it.”

The biopic stars Jaafar Jackson, Michael’s nephew, in the lead role, with Nia Long and Miles Teller also attached to the cast.

The film is currently slated for release in April 2026 and may be split into two parts.

Montell Jordan Reveals Cancer Has Returned & Spread To Lymph Nodes

Montell Jordan delivered a sobering health update during an appearance on NBC’s TODAY, revealing that cancer has returned and spread to his lymph nodes nearly a year after undergoing prostate removal surgery.

“I always imagined I would be telling my prostate cancer story from the other side of prostate cancer because I had a radical prostatectomy surgery,” Jordan explained. “My prostate was removed. There were clear margins. Close to a year post-prostatectomy, I still need to go back and have additional treatments because it’s detected that there is still cancer.”

The 55-year-old singer, best known for his 1995 anthem, “This Is How We Do It,” first learned of his diagnosis in early 2024. Jordan credited routine checkups and a long-standing relationship with his doctor for catching the disease early.

“I would go regularly to my doctor for screenings, and at that time — we’re talking over a decade ago — most prostate screenings were kind of taboo,” he said. “Because I was going and had a history of what my blood levels were like, that’s how they were able to detect it.”

Jordan emphasized the importance of early detection, saying, “Early detection is the thing that allows me to have a choice to treat it and live and to continue giving myself the best quality of life possible.”

Now facing a new phase in his medical journey, Jordan will begin a seven-and-a-half-week course of targeted radiation. He’ll also take hormone blockers to slow the cancer’s progression.

“It is a seven-and-a-half week interruption of life to make sure that I have a longer life,” he said.

Jordan’s last surgery was nearly a year ago, and his next round of treatment is expected to begin in the coming weeks.
