NYC Mayor Eric Adams’ Son Drops Raunchy Rap On Albanian Music Competition Show

The son of New York City’s second Black Mayor auditioned for “Kënga Magjike,” the Albanian version of “American Idol,” and people were shocked at his lyrics.

According to the New York Post, Eric Adam’s son, Jordan Coleman (whose rapper name is “Jayoo”), visited Tirana, Albania, to compete on Wednesday night’s show.

He took to the stage with two female backup dances and spit some of the raunchiest lyrics that the show had heard.

The 26-year-old spit a rap called “Itsy Bitsy,” dropping lyrics that say you “wanna twerk that ass and shake them t######. I support it s###, she gorgeous. Still she gotta stay committed. She would miss the life. If she gave it up, but won’t admit. Free admission taking trips and getting lit, until you gettin dizzy.”

The First Son rocked black sunglasses, a red and black patched jacket, and no t-shirt as he performed the three-minute song.

In September, Jayoo said on his Instagram, “I’m looking to be an international rap artist. This was a major step in that direction.”

This is not the first taste of the industry for Jayoo, who currently works for Jay-Z’s Roc Nation in the film department. The Mayor has not commented on his offspring’s performance.

De La Soul, 3rd Bass Collaborator Don Newkirk Dead At 56

Musician Don Newkirk reportedly passed away this week, although no cause of death has been revealed. Rahiem of the Furious Five shared a Facebook post on Friday (November 25) confirming his death.

“It is with a heavy heart I announce the transitioning of my brother Don Newkirk,” he wrote. “Fifty-six years young. Don Newkirk was among the first R&B artists signed to Def Jam records. My condolences go out to his family. S.I.P bro.” He later told AllHipHop, “One of our close friends called me and told me that Don’s daughter called him and told him.”

Newkirk was well known for his voice-overs on albums such as De La Soul’s 3 Feet High and Rising and the 3rd Bass’ song “The Gas Face” from the group’s 1989 debut, The Cactus Album. Around the same time, he dropped a solo album called Funk City via OBR/Columbia Records, a subsidiary of Def Jam Records. The album spawned the singles “I Desire” and “Sweat You.”

Speaking to AllHipHop last year, Newkirk reflected on his journey and the impact he made on both R&B and Hip-Hop.

Funk City was like in a mode of me experimenting, learning instrumentation and learning how to use my voice in a different way other than just rapping,” Newkirk said at the time. “Because I was never a singer. I was always an MC. But I just felt like I could express what I was trying to save better with melody back then. So it came out more so as Funk City, which I think is dope because it gave people a whole different element of me. And just that whole time of like what was going on our crew.

‘Maybe I would have had more success If I had stuck to emceeing, being the 3 Feet High and Rising came out and ‘Gas Face’ was about to come out. And then I was in that whole camp, pretty much in the Native Tongues camp but not really a Native Tongue, more so because I was singing than spitting. But I’m glad that it it did go down the way it went down because it created this legacy that I’m only now realizing, has made an effect that I didn’t even know from back then because we didn’t have internet.”

In 2016, Newkirk joined Prince Paul (Stetsasonic, De La Soul), Ladybug Mecca (Digable Planets) and Rodrigo Brandão as a member of BROOKZILL!, a short-lived but potent experimental project. The group released one album, Throwback To The Future, and then went their separate ways. Four year later, again linked up with Prince Paul to compose the score for the Netflix documentary, Who Killed Malcolm X.

AllHipHop sends its condolences to Newkirk’s family, friends and fans. Check out a few of the reactions below.

Donald Trump Addresses Ye, Says Rapper Showed Up “Unexpectedly” For “Quick And Uneventful” Dinner

Donald Trump has broken his silence over Ye’s claim that the former U.S. President “screamed at him” during a meeting in Florida this week.

Trump took to his TruthSocial platform and said Ye showed up uninvited and brought on far-right commentator Milo Yiannopoulos as his campaign manager.

Ye also brought Nick Fuentes, a white supremacist banned from YouTube for hate speech, and Karen Giorno, Trump’s former campaign advisor, to the dinner.

“This past week, Kanye West called me to have dinner at Mar-a-Lago. Shortly thereafter, he unexpectedly showed up with three of his friends, whom I knew nothing about,” Trump explained. “We had dinner on Tuesday evening with many members present on the back patio. The dinner was quick and uneventful. They then left for the airport.”

The rapper and former leader separately announced their intention to run for U.S. President in 2024 recently, and they met up at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida this week, where West surprised Trump by asking him to be his running mate.

In a “Mar-a-Lago debrief” video posted on Twitter on Thursday, West claimed that Trump was “perturbed” by his request and yelled that he was going to lose his campaign during their dinner.

“I think the thing that Trump was most perturbed about, me asking him to be my Vice President. I think that was lower on the list of things that caught him off-guard. It was the fact that I walked in with intelligence,” West said.

“When Trump started basically screaming at me at the table telling me I was gonna lose, I mean, has that ever worked for anyone in history? I’m like, hold on Trump, you’re talking to Ye.”

According to Donald Trump, the pair mainly business, including Ye’s recent difficulties after he was dropped by GAP, Balenciaga, and Adidas.

“Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, was asking me for advice concerning some of his difficulties, in particular having to do with his business,” Trump added.

The former POTUS admitted he told Ye not to run for President and rebuffed his request to be running mates.

“We also discussed, to a lesser extent, politics, where I told him he should definitely not run for President, ‘any voters you may have should vote for TRUMP.’ Anyway, we got along great, he expressed no anti-Semitism, & I appreciated all of the nice things he said about me on “Tucker Carlson.” Why wouldn’t I agree to meet? Also, I didn’t know Nick Fuentes,” Trump added.

Trump did not address Ye’s claim that he allegedly made a derogatory comment about his ex-wife Kim Kardashian.

This week, Ohio-bred rapper Trippie Redd was in the festive spirit, generously donating Thanksgiving turkeys to over 1500 families in his hometown of Canton, Ohio.

Giving away Thanksgiving meals to schools, churches, and shelters, Trippie Redd, born Michael White, teamed up with his mother, Tonya McClain, and Cousin, Annette Goodman, as they helped get the staple food of Thanksgiving dinner on tables for children and those in need.

It’s clear despite being best recognized for his hit songs “Topanga” and “Miss The Rage,” Trippie Redd is focused on pushing his 1400 Entertainment brand to new philanthropic heights and giving back to the local community where he was raised.

“I’m happy to be able to give back to the people and communities that have given so much to me,” said Trippie Redd in an exclusive statement. “I have a lot of community service plans for this year and am excited to do as much as I can for my people.”

Trippie Redd is known in his community for giving back this time of year, along with help from his mother, Tonya, and cousin Annette. Trippie Redd also has plans to get involved in a new, even bigger way this coming Christmas living up to the 1400 Entertainment name, which honors the street where he grew up.

“We called our local churches, schools, shelters, friends, and families to make sure we went straight to the source of who needed what,” said Tonya McClain, Trippie Redd’s mother. “We wanted to make sure everyone was accounted for fairly.”

“I know [Trippie Redd] is famous around the world for blowing up stages and playing music, but I want the world to see how he adds value as a young black man, giving back to his hometown,” cousin Annette Goodman added. “My [cousin] cares so much…he loves doing this, this time of year.”

Trippie Redd has plans for giving year-round

In an exclusive clip to AllHipHop, Trippie Redd explained his inspiration behind giving back to this hometown community and how he has plans for giving year-round, from Christmas to back-to-school events.

“I just had came up with the idea that I wanted to give back to the people that give to me, and especially in the places where I’ve been, and they’ve shown mad love. I just feel like it’s important to give back to those communities and, you know, help support those in need. Those that might look at you as somebody that’s spectacular and might not be in the very best situation at the time.”

“Now I’m at the point where I just want to give out 1500 turkeys in every state I’ve been in, where they showed that support, and they showed that love of just me being there. And of course, I’ll do other places too and reach out to some friends, but we gonna make it an annual thing, a year-round thing.” Trippie Redd said. “I’m also looking into back-to-school things, you know, Christmas things and a few other things I’m putting together.”

At only 23 years old, Trippie Redd wields a massive fan base, having garnered over 18 billion streams and collaborations with the likes of Drake, Playboi Carti, JuiceWRLD, Lil Uzi Vert, and XXXTENTATCION.

In March of 2022, Trippie announced that he secured a $30 million, three-project deal with Elliot Grainge’s 10K Projects label via his Instagram page.

Kim Kardashian Had To Beg Ye To Keep His Grammy Awards

Kim Kardashian pleaded with Ye to keep his Grammy Awards so their children could have them.

During the latest episode of Hulu’s “The Kardashians,” the reality TV star revealed that she reached out to her ex-husband at the height of their breakup to ask him not to give away his awards.

“Even when he was at the height of not speaking with me and being angry with me, he won a few Grammys, and I still reached out and was like, ‘I know you won a few Grammys. I gotta add them to the vault,'” she recounted. “And he goes, ‘O.K.’ Because the kids want them, you know? And I want to put them all together.”

Kim filed for divorce from Ye in February 2021. They are yet to finalize the split and are reportedly still working on a child custody agreement.

The rapper was due to sit down for a deposition in the divorce case last week, but he did not appear.

Elsewhere, Kim shared that the jacket her daughter North West wore to Paris Fashion Week in July was actually purchased online.

While Ye first sported the item in 2008 and later gave it away, the SKIMS founder managed to find it on the Internet and purchased it for the nine-year-old.

“It’s going to be a huge fashion moment,” she smiled. “Kanye tends not to care about his stuff and gives it all away and it ended up on the Internet and I got it last week. Kanye knows that I’m so protective of his stuff for the kids.”

Derez De’Shon Talks “Bigger Than Me” Album, Songwriting For Summer Walker & Love For Cooking

Derez De’Shon is back with a vengeance, and you can feel it in each song on his new album titled Bigger Than Me. Following his last project Pain 3, the 20-track project serves as his yet another reminder that he holds absolutely nothing back when it comes to his music, wearing his heart on his sleeve every time he gets in the booth.

Dubbed the Godfather of Pain Music, Derez De’Shon exploded onto the scene with his viral track “Hardaway,” who’s official music video currently hails over 185 million views and counting. The song has since been certified Gold, as he disrupted the Billboard charts for the first time in his career.

When asked what his favorite songs off Bigger Than Me are, Derez lists “Sacrifices” where he’s talking to his kids, “Resurrection” because it’s Derez speaking on coming back after losing himself, and “Want To” because it was a whole new element for him to collaborate with a female artist.

AllHipHop spoke with Derez De’Shon virtually, who was posted in Memphis on his project release day. Read below as we discuss the new project, songwriting for Summer Walker, collaborating with Morray, love for cooking, and more!

AllHipHop: How are you? Where you located?

Derez De’Shon: I’m in Memphis. I’m good man, blessed. Happy. I’m down here for my Big Boogie’s birthday. He got a concert, I’m a go light them up for him. I’m happy all around. We just dropped an album, we going crazy. It’s been a minute. Had to let them know I ain’t went nowhere!

AllHipHop: Congratulations! I know you know release days are always super exciting for an artist.

Derez De’Shon: Yeah, it is. It’s like being at a hospital and a baby is born, you’re like ooooh!

AllHipHop: What does Bigger Than Me mean to you?

Derez De’Shon: Bigger Than Me is exactly what it says: it’s bigger than me. My whole career, I was blessed to have this talent and these abilities to make this type of music. Helping people out and making people comfortable with being them. It’s bigger than me, it’s bigger than anything I could ever imagine so I had to. It had to be done. It means everything to me that I’m that person people lean on to get over a rough day or get through a situation at home. Just feel better about their situation. This album is me saying: I got you. It’s bigger than my success, it’s bigger than the money. It’s bigger than the conglomerates, it’s bigger than all that. It’s a real purpose behind what I’m doing.

AllHipHop: This is your first project in two years, why so long? Were you working on it this entire time?

Derez De’Shon: I’ve been working the entire time: songwriting for different artists, all of that. I had to get my business straight. A lot of things shifted, a lot of things changed. I have a different team now. Shout out to Manny and Rocky from my management team, Alyssa, Redd and the rest of my team over at Venice, and Justin over at The Purple Agency. We’ve got a whole different situation going on now. I had to get a lot of my legal situation together, get out of bad contracts so I can do exactly what I’m doing today.

AllHipHop: I want to talk about the songwriting. You wrote on Summer Walker’s Bitter”? That’s legendary!

Derez De’Shon: It was legendary for me too, and I appreciate it. Shout out to London on da Track, shout out to Summer Walker. It was a blessing for me to even be there. London called me to the studio and said “ay bro, I need you to do this. You the one, I know you could put that real pain and heartfelt s### on there.” I’m like s###, let’s get it. We discussed certain things and I put that in my mind. I went in the booth and made it happen.

AllHipHop: Do you listen to Summer Walker?

Derez De’Shon: Yeah, I’m a huge of Summer’s. I ain’t going to lie to you, for me to even have the opportunity, I was like oh s###! What? N*gga I can’t wait to do this.

AllHipHop: Bigger Than Me, you go more R&B right?

Derez De’Shon: I don’t think I go more R&B, I just had a vibe. I do got a song on there that I consider R&B and it’s pretty different. I just wanted to try it out. I can write for other R&B artists, so I want to see what I can do myself. I’m a start doing more R&B records. I got a little voice and if I get vocal training, I could probably really get in there.

AllHipHop: I respect when artists get vocal training because that tells me you’re serious about your craft.

Derez De’Shon: Oh yeah, I definitely got to perfect it. Because I’m starting to get up there with Usher and them.

AllHipHop: How was it linking with Morray on “All Them Days”?

Derez De’Shon: Morray a real cool, down-to-earth genuine dude. I might have DMed him, because I was rocking with his sound” Quicksand.” I’m like bro hard. I DMed him “bro you fire,” he said “I appreciate that.” He gave me my flowers from the gate. He said “thank you man, it means to hear that from you.” I’m like wsup, you f### with it? We swapped numbers, we text. Even to this day, we check on each other on some family sh*t.

A lot of people in this industry, you can’t really f**ck with like that. It ain’t no love there. I can hit him like “hey, how you doing? I’m with the family.” He hit me on the same tip. It ain’t always gotta be rap, it’s really on some check on you sh*t. When we did the video, it was a ball of energy. Him, me, we full of that s###. It’s energy, we went hard. It came out dope, it’s a beautiful song. He got a beautiful voice. He could really song, and that’s exactly why I’m gonna take those same classes so I do exactly what he does. [laughs]

AllHipHop: Best memory from the video shoot?

Derez De’Shon: It’s a part in my behind the scenes where we’re sitting in there with my shirt off. He’s telling me like “yeah you a big n*gga, you can walk around with your shirt off. I can see your tattoos on your skin, I can’t go out there bare-skinned.” [laughs] That’s one of the most memorable parts, it was funny. He’s like “yeah I can’t walk around, you bold. You a big bold n*gga, you walk around with your shirt off. You don’t care.” I’m like yeah!

AllHipHop: What were you going through with the trailer? Hear you talking about the industry.

Derez De’Shon: I was trying to get out of them contracts at this time. I’m having these conversations with people where I’m learning certain things I never knew, certain things that were hidden from me. Certain things they didn’t want me to know so certain things can go on without me knowing. I was going through that.

I was going through the fake relationships with the other artists, reaching out and not getting a response. Honestly, I felt like damn, this s### hard. I’m starting to understand now, people only f### with you when they got a reason to f### with you. All the genuine love you thought you had, that sh*t does not exist. I was noticing and becoming myself, stepping out into this new me. I was spitting, keeping it real. It’s bigger than me, it’s bigger than all that. It’s bigger than everything else.

AllHipHop: Talk about linking with Big Boogie and what it means to be out there in Memphis celebrating his birthday.

Derez De’Shon: I’ve been on Boogie for a minute, a long time. I can have genuine relationships with people, I ain’t gotta talk nothing about no music. But you can hit me like “bro wsup, you good? What you on?” And I’m a do the same. This particular moment, I’m like oh damn, you know what bro? I do got a song I want you to get on, this one of them ones! ‘Cause I don’t really do that type of music, the fun music. I’m like this might be one. I know bruh lit. When I say lit, I know Boogie can party. We gon’ be lit! When he did the verse, send it back ASAP. Bruh lit, let’s get it. Shot the video ASAP, now I’m in Memphis. About to push up on him and do our thing for his birthday.

AllHipHop: Talk about your passion for cooking.

Derez De’Shon: Oh man, I love cooking. I ain’t gonna lie to you, cooking is therapeutic for me too. Besides the shower or besides when I’m number two, that’s the only time I have to sit there and think, watch this and watch that. My mind is focused. Cooking is therapeutic, plus I love trying new stuff. I like watching YouTube, learning new meals, reading recipe books. I like to cook, I love cooking. Chef Derez De’Shon!

AllHipHop: What do you like to cook?

Derez De’Shon: Everything. I really love grilling though. I really love to grill, but I like cooking everything. I like challenging myself in my kitchen, like when I first learned how to make homemade stuffing. I challenge myself to cook a lot of homemade from scratch, like pizza. Just something to get my mind going and keep me thinking.

AllHipHop: Do you ever get sick of performing “Hardaway”?

Derez De’Shon: Uh, yeah. I won’t say I’m sick of it. I love it when I see people react to it and I know how it impacted their life, but I want them to be open-minded to the rest of everything. Don’t just stick me in this category. Pay attention, keep up. Stay online with me.

AllHipHop: One thing you want people to take away from Bigger Than Me?

Derez De’Shon: It’s bigger than you, simple. It’s people that depend on you, it’s people that look up to you. It’s people who need you, it’s people who you inspire. It’s people who admire you, you have to be that. You have to be you, don’t let nothing in this world break you to the point where you can’t be you. If being you costs you certain relationships, that’s fine. Maybe you didn’t need them. If being you costs you to be in different rooms then you used to be in, then maybe that’s where you need to be. But just know it’s bigger than you.

Don’t never get selfish to say hey man, f*ck all that. I’m on this. Nah, it’s bigger than you. You have to think about this sh*t like a child. Would you turn your back on your child? Nah, it’s bigger than you. You gotta go hard for that baby. You gotta make sure that baby eats, you gotta make sure that baby clothes. You gotta make sure that baby stays alive, make sure that baby’s strong. You gotta make sure that baby feels love. That’s what I want them to get out of Bigger Than Me: be you and be that person that people need.

Chinese/Canadian Rapper Kris Wu Sentenced To 13 Years For Rape And Sexual Assault

After a Chinese court found Chinese Canadian rapper and actor Kris Wu guilty of raping three women, he was hit with over a decade of prison time.

According to sources, the celebrity got the women drunk and had sex with them while they were too intoxicated to consent.

Wu was sentenced to 13 years in a Chinese jail by the Chaoyang District Court in Beijing.

Wu rose to international acclaim as a band member of the Chinese rap group Exo, becoming one of China’s most popular artists.

As reported by AllHipHop.com, he was one of the nation’s prime examples of men abusers and highlighted by the #MeToo movement.

When women started to name him as an abuser, he lost major deals with brands, including Louis Vuitton, Bulgari, Porsche, and L’Oréal.

The majority of the 13-year sentence stems from that incident. However, one year and ten months of his sentence are connected to an incident in 2018 where he “assembled a crowd” and assaulted two more women intoxicated in his presence.

Another crime connected to the wealthy Wu is tax evasion. The Chinese version of America’s IRS states he was fined 600 million yuan ($83.7 million) for cheating the government out of its taxes.

After he is done with his sentence, the Chinese government will deport him.

EXCLUSIVE: Flavor Flav Filmed Calling Baby Mother “A Gold-Digging B####” At L.A. Mall

Flavor Flav sometimes doesn’t fare well in public places. Less than two weeks after the Public Enemy legend was filmed cussing out an airport employee, another video of the Flavor of Love star has leaked. In a video obtained by AllHipHop, Flavor Flav is taped screaming at Kate Gammell, his ex-manager and mother of their three-year-old son Jordan, calling her a “gold-digging b####.”

The heated exchange was caught on video for only one minute, but it’s enough to conclude the argument appears to be over Gammell’s wish to accompany Flav and Jordan on a shopping excursion at the Century City Mall in Century City, California.

Witnesses at the scene said Gammell had to be comforted by two high school girls after she was brought to tears. They took Gammell to the security office where two guards escorted her to her vehicle out of fear for her safety. They claimed Flavor Flav yelled at Gammell for roughly 10 minutes before storming off. At one point, he was allegedly holding Jordan in his arms as the argument ensued.

Flavor Flav initially denied paternity, but a test later proved he was indeed the father. In May, TMZ reported Gammell had spoken to Flav about Jordan taking his last name, Drayton, and filed legal documents to make it official. A hearing took place this year and Jordan’s last name was legally changed to Drayton.

As for the airport incident involving a Spirit airlines flight, Flavor Flav ultimately issued an apology on social media, tweeting, “I like to think I represent all the people who would get upset when airlines are in the wrong. As I said to TMZ, I apologize to those who witnessed me acting out of character…but I do not apologize to Spirit or the gate agent for their shady tactics when they oversell flights.”

In turn, Spirit rewarded him with a full refund and automatic gold status, meaning he’ll never have to pay for any of Spirit’s add-on charges such as the ones for baggage and seat selection. It was rumored Southwest Airlines stepped in and offered Flav free flights, but when reached by Simple Flying, a spokesperson for Southwest Airlines confirmed it helped Flav get to his final destination but denied reports he’d been given free flights in the future.

Safe Travels Returns With Catchy New Track “Time Don’t Wait”

Rising artist Safe Travels is back with another catchy bop! In his newest track “Time Don’t Wait,” the R&B/pop-fusion artist combines melodies and notes of harmonious singing and bouncing between the lyrics on the beat. His vocals smoothly flow over this memorable beat and this song shows a new side of him that differs from his previous release, “Listening To Your Heart.” Safe Travels turns things up a notch with this track and displays a side of him that audiences knew he was capable of, but hadn’t heard yet in his latest string of releases.

On the new upbeat track, Safe Travels sings about quite literally the concept of “time” not waiting for anyone. But, on the record, he touches on a bigger message and sings that he wants to at least wait to leave and  “wait til the bottle is done,” before the night ends. The song can be described as euphoric, yet calm and easy to listen to. Safe Travels truly positions himself as a one-of-a-kind artist who knows how to appeal to multiple audiences through his storytelling and diverse vocal ability.

Having an ear for music since he was young, Safe Travels is a clearly talented star with a natural aptitude for music. As a singer-songwriter, he takes influence from the greats such as D’Angelo. He would learn to play musical instruments such as the saxophone, piano, and bassoon, and with his penchant for singing, he is the next big star in the music industry.

Donald Trump Went Nuclear On Ye During Dinner And Made Lewd Comments About Kim K.

Ye has claimed former U.S. President Donald Trump “screamed at him” during their meeting in Florida this week.

The rapper and former leader separately announced their intention to run for U.S. President in 2024 recently, and they met up at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida this week, where West surprised Trump by asking him to be his running mate.

In a “Mar-a-Lago debrief” video posted on Twitter on Thursday, Ye claimed that Trump was “perturbed” by his request and yelled that he was going to lose his campaign during their dinner.

“I think the thing that Trump was most perturbed about, me asking him to be my Vice President. I think that was lower on the list of things that caught him off-guard. It was the fact that I walked in with intelligence,” Ye said.

“When Trump started basically screaming at me at the table telling me I was gonna lose, I mean, has that ever worked for anyone in history? I’m like, hold on Trump, you’re talking to Ye,” the rapper said.

The “Stronger” hitmaker recently revealed that he had brought on far-right commentator Milo Yiannopoulos as his campaign manager.

He reportedly also brought Nick Fuentes, a white supremacist who was banned from YouTube for hate speech, and Karen Giorno, Trump’s former campaign advisor, to the dinner.

Elsewhere in the video, Ye claimed he also discussed Trump granting clemency to inmate Alice Marie Johnson in 2018 after meeting with his then-wife Kim Kardashian, and Trump allegedly told him he “didn’t do it for Kim, but he did it for me.”

Trump allegedly made a derogatory comment about the reality star, and West added, “I was thinking like, that’s the mother of my children.”

The video then ended with a title card bearing his campaign slogan, “YE24.”

Ye shared a series of other campaign videos on his Twitter page on Thursday, including one which features news reports on his recent antisemitism controversy.

At the start of one clip, Ye revealed the financial issues he’s facing with Adidas, who pulled its Yeezy partnership with the rapper following his remarks.

“November 16, 2022 (Yeezy HQ) Los Angeles, ca… Adidas has just frozen all of Ye’s bank accounts and sued him for 275 million dollars in advertising fees,” the message reads.

Ye unsuccessfully ran for U.S. President in 2020.

Stormzy Makes Triumphant Comeback With ‘This Is What I Mean’

After a three years hiatus, Stormzy released his highly anticipated third studio album, This Is What I Mean

The follow-up to 2019’s Heavy Is The Head arrived midnight on Friday (Nov. 25), featuring 12 tracks. Stormzy previewed the artists credited on the album in a special video released on Wednesday. Watch it below and stream This Is What I Mean, at the end of the page.

The South London rapper shared an intimate message to his fans hours before the project was due. Tyler, the Creator was the inspiration for the post after he penned a similar note before releasing Igor in 2019.

While Stormzy admitted he would have preferred to let his “music do all the talking,” it was important to him to explain the ethos behind his music and how he would like the album to be received.

“I feel like I overshare, which makes me feel naked at times,” Stormzy wrote. “But I do it so that you guys can understand me a bit better and to give the art that I make some context. I’m never ever purposely trying to defy genres or go against the grain.”

“I’m never tryna do what is unexpected of me or what is expected of me. If I rap for seven minutes it’s because in my spirit, in that moment, I just really want to f###### rap.”

“I will make art for the rest of my life.”

The “Mel Made Me Do It” hitmaker flexed his singing chops on the album and said: “If I sing my heart out it’s because my soul just absolutely had to, adding, “I love music. I love, love, loveeeee music. Stormzy also committed to rapping “for the rest of my life. I will sing for the rest of my life, I will make art for the rest of my life.”

Stormzy said he was not “a calculated mastermind,” but hoped his new album would show critics that he does “whatever he likes,” despite people attempting “to box me in for years.”

He concluded with a prayer that fans “listen to it properly with no distractions,” and “with an open heart.”

“If you hate it after I promise to God I’m perfectly fine with that, I’m just grateful that you listened with openness. I pray that it moves you and captures your imagination and I pray that someone, somewhere feels it. This is what I mean and it’s what I’ve always meant. God bless. Stormzy x.” Read his post in full below

Letitia Wright Flames The Hollywood Reporter Over “Personal Vendetta”

Letitia Wright has accused journalists at The Hollywood Reporter of having a “personal vendetta” against her by bringing up her 2020 anti-vaccine controversy in an article about her Oscars chances.

The “Black Panther” actress came under fire two years ago when she shared an anti-vax conspiracy video on Twitter.

Wright swiftly apologized and deleted her account.

The Hollywood Reporter’s awards editor Scott Feinberg published a story titled “How Personal Baggage Will Impact Oscar Chances,” in which he questioned how Will Smith, Brad Pitt, and Wright’s chances might be affected by private controversies.

The article also mentioned the likes of Roman Polanski and Woody Allen, who received nominations at the Oscars despite allegations of abuse.

The Guyanese-British actress responded to the “disrespectful” piece on her Instagram Stories on Monday night.

“How dare you. You mentioned my name alongside men who have been accused of abuse & sexual misconduct. This is vile behavior,” she wrote. “At this point a personal vendetta towards me. I’ve done nothing wrong but respectfully refused to do interviews with this publication. Stop your nonsense.”

The 29-year-old then accused the publication of publishing a false story in October 2021, claiming she expressed anti-vax sentiments on the set of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”

She called the report “completely untrue” at the time.

“I apologized TWO years ago,” she wrote of her controversy. “Remained silent on the topic. You lied and said I continued talking about it with my cast and crew on my set. THIS WAS NOT TRUE. ASK MY PRODUCER AND DIRECTOR. The film is successful. Your agenda towards me is now even more clear. I won’t remain silent. Stop your disgusting behavior.”

In a separate message directed at the journalist himself, Wright insisted that she “kept (her) head down” while “the world told me to kill myself two years ago” before turning her attention to the “Black Panther” sequel.

“Did my performance rattle you that much? It was that excellent huh? I’m still here, still making impact, still creating projects that touch peoples (sic) hearts and it’s not going to stop. Get a life, like for real,” she concluded.

In an interview with The Guardian, Wright was asked directly if she had been vaccinated and she replied, “I have apologized and I have moved on. Next question. Thanks.”

Kim Kardashian Tells North West Exactly How She Was Conceived

Kim Kardashian told her daughter North West about her conception during the latest episode of Hulu reality series “The Kardashians.”

While on a visit to designer Olivier Rousteing’s studio in preparation for an appearance at Paris Fashion Week in July, the SKIMS co-founder opened up about the night she and her then-partner Kanye West conceived their first child.

“Northie, I’ve known Olivier since before you were a baby. And he gave daddy this blue dress that daddy wanted for me,” she said. “It was my birthday the year before you were born and I wore the dress, and I got pregnant and you got in my belly the night I wore that dress.

“So, Olivier might have a little something to do with the reason you’re on this planet.”

Despite the revelation, North, nine, appeared non-plussed and continued eating a snack. Kim then went on to share that she takes each of her children on a special trip with her each year.

“It just also shows my daughter the work I’m putting in. There is a whole business behind it so I like to show her that like this is still fun for me. Work could be fun,” the 42-year-old continued.

Kim and Kanye are also parents to Saint, six, Chicago, four, and three-year-old Psalm.

Elsewhere in the episode, the TV personality recalled the advice Demi Moore once gave her before she made her first runway appearance.

In a chat with Balenciaga creative director Demna, the brunette beauty confessed that she last walked a catwalk for Ed Hardy as part of Los Angeles Fashion Week in 2006.

“Demi Moore gave me really good advice because I just said I’m walking in a show and I didn’t tell her what… and I don’t remember what that advice was and it’s in my text messages. But it was really good and I’m gonna look at it before,” she commented. “She goes, ‘Anytime I do something I’m nervous about, think about what you’re receiving instead of what you’re giving…’ Or maybe it’s the opposite way… I don’t know, I’ll re-read it.”

Kelly Rowland Says Chris Brown Deserves Grace And Forgiveness

Kelly Rowland believes Chris Brown deserves “grace and forgiveness” for his past mistakes after he was booed at the American Music Awards on Sunday.

The Destiny’s Child singer accepted the Favorite Male R&B Artist AMAs trophy on Brown’s behalf and told the crowd to “chill out” after several audience members booed and shouted about his win.

Brown remains a controversial figure in the music industry 13 years after he assaulted his then-girlfriend Rihanna before the 2009 Grammy Awards.

Rowland was approached by TMZ on Monday and asked for her response to Brown being booed.

“I believe that grace is very real and we all need a dose of it,” she said. “Before we point fingers at anybody we should realise how grateful we are, for every moment that we get, for even our own things that we have. I just think it’s important to remember to be human, we are humans.”

The 41-year-old was then asked if he needed to be forgiven, and she replied, “We all need to be forgiven, for anything we could be doing, anything that we’re thinking, we all come up short in some sort of way. And grace is real, and we are humans, and everybody deserves grace, period.”

When she accepted the award on Brown’s behalf, Rowland said, “I want to tell Chris, thank you so much for making great music, and I want to tell him thank you for being an incredible performer. I’ll take this award and bring it to you, I love you! Congratulations, and congratulations to all the nominees in this category.”

Brown was originally to perform a dance tribute to Michael Jackson at the ceremony, but it was scrapped.

On Monday, Ciara shared footage of her rehearsing the Thriller dance routine with Brown, revealing that she would have appeared in the tribute too.

Instagram Wrong To Bow To Pressure From Cops To Remove Drill Music Video, Meta Board Says

Meta’s oversight board said the company was wrong for bowing to police pressure to remove a clip of drill music, forcing Instagram to reinstate the post.

The U.K.’s Metropolitan police requested the removal of a snippet of the song “Secrets Not Safe” by Chinx (OS), arguing the track could lead to “retaliatory violence.” Cops claimed the song referenced a 2017 shooting and contained a “veiled threat,” leading Meta to act. They removed the song wherever it appeared on the social media platform.

Listen to “Secrets Not Safe” by Chinx (OS) at the end of the page.

However, the watchdog said the track does not break any of Facebook or Instagram’s rules. They also state allowing a police operation to censor a musician in secret poses a breach of equality and transparency.

“While law enforcement can sometimes provide context and expertise, not every piece of content that law enforcement would prefer to have taken down should be taken down,” the board said in its ruling as per the Guardian.

“It is therefore critical that Meta evaluates these requests independently, particularly when they relate to artistic expression from individuals in minority or marginalised groups for whom the risk of cultural bias against their content is acute.”

Meta Removed 255 Drill Music Posts At Cops Request

The oversight board discovered Met police filed 286 requests to take down or review posts about drill music in a year. The overwhelming majority, 255 of those cases, were approved for removal. There were no requests to remove any other music genre.

“This intensive focus on one music genre among many that include reference to violence raises serious concerns of potential over-policing of certain communities,” the board argued.

Cops were not arguing the drill music broke any U.K. laws, rather they claimed the song had broken Facebook and Instagram community standards. Despite providing no evidence, cops argued the drill music in question was “potentially threatening or likely to contribute to imminent violence or physical harm.”

In a statement, Meta said: “We do not remove content simply because law enforcement requests it – we take action if content is found to violate our policies or local law.”

The board also recommended an overhaul in Meta’s removal policy, calling for transparency concerning content removal requests from law enforcement and other state actors. They also advised Meta to assess their decisions for systemic biases against communities or minorities.
