Nicki Minaj Pregnancy Rumors Run Wild

The way this world is going it’s crazy right now. They have reversed Roe v. Wade, stripped away the ability to sue the cops over Miranda rights. They want to reclassify slavery as “involuntary relocation.” So we have so many things going on in our world. And there are white nationalists marching in Boston. So guys, understand that me writing these rumors for so long does not mean I do not know what’s going on.

That said, there’s a new rumor about Nicki Minaj. It seems kind of silly, but I’m going to address it because it is out there. These people out here are saying that Nicki Minaj might be pregnant. After the stain of dissing Kanye West faded away, people analyzed the video of Nicki Minaj’s performances at the Essence Fest. And what they have ascertained is that Nicki is probably with with child.

Personally, I don’t care. She’s getting older, and weight gain is normal. So if she is gaining weight, more cushion for the pushing. But, if she is not just gaining weight and is pregnant, congratulations! She has one child right now and most people want at least two. Me, I don’t want any. Moving on: people are really analyzing this heavy. So without further ado, I am going to show you what people are saying on social media.

I don’t know guys, but this feels like body shaming to me.

Before I go, man was shot 60 times, in Akron Ohio where the police unloaded 90 rounds on him. Jayland Walker rest in peace.

Sir Girvan “Fly” Henry Honorably Knighted For His Philanthropy & Contributions To Music

Atlanta’s dominance in Hip Hop and R&B has been evident for decades. Atlanta has certainly been the heartbeat of the entertainment industry, boasting an influence that is unmatched.

The southern city’s dominance of the music industry is inarguably evidenced in the charts. However, driving Atlanta’s ascendency to prominence are the music executives that boast the fortitude to discover new talent and the discernment to support burgeoning talent that eventually rule the charts and the airwaves.

That being said, one can’t speak to the success of Atlanta without paying homage to Think It’s A Game Records Founder and C.E.O. Sir Girvan “Fly” Henry, one of the most prolific culture creators whose contributions to entertainment have largely influenced Atlanta’s musical and cultural landscape.

In 2011 Fly rocked the Atlanta retail industry with the launch of Fly Kix, a progressive pivot in sneaker fashion that would rival the celebrity of Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, as some of the most prominent names in music frequented the on-trend sneaker boutique on a regular basis.

Eventually becoming a staple in the Atlanta community, Fly Kix was something of a precursor to Think It’s A Game Records, as Sir Girvan “Fly” Henry would often champion local artists over the speakers in the store, while retail associates and customers became unofficial A&R’s, providing feedback and advising what was hot.

With a known proclivity for introducing numerous successful acts in music, Sir Girvan “Fly” Henry has been the driving force behind artists like YFN Lucci, Rich Homie Quan, Trinidad James, Jacquees, and countless others.

With chart-topping successes, several #1 songs at radio, multiple plaques from the RIAA, and worldwide recognition via Trinidad James’ “All Gold Everything” record that was featured in Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ mega-hit, “Uptown Funk, Sir Girvan “Fly” Henry’s musical intellect has not gone unnoticed.

Having been previously awarded two proclamations from the City of Atlanta which also designated the 18th of October as “Fly Day” in Atlanta, on June 5, 2022, Sir Girvan “Fly” Henry was honorably knighted for his contribution to philanthropy and music.

Being knighted is an honor that is bestowed upon individuals who have been unselfishly impactful within their communities.

Throughout history Knights have always been an example of strength, honor, integrity, and courage, thus, this recognition speaks to Sir Girvan “Fly” Henry’s legacy which is nothing short of amazing.

Fly is now a member of knighthood along with the likes of other pioneers such as Richard Branson, Toni Braxton, and Lewis Hamilton, just to name a few.

“Family and legacy are extremely important to me,” he goes on to say. Your legacy will live for generations beyond your physical being. I’m here to make a difference and positively impact lives in every way I can,” said Fly.

Woman Busted For Brandishing A Loaded Firearm In Front Of Diddy’s House

Some wild drama unfolded in front of Diddy’s house after the BET Awards last weekend.

The hip-hop mogul was awarded a lifetime achievement award on Sunday, (June 26th) during the ceremony, where he also performed a medley of his hits with Bad Boy alumni like Lil’ Kim, Shyne, Mary J. Blige, Busta Rhymes, Jadakiss, Faith, Evans and others.

Naturally, Diddy was in a festive mood, so he had an a-list party at his mansion in Los Angeles.

Not everybody was in the celebratory mood.

According to the cops, an uninvited woman showed up at Diddy’s mansion, which was jam-packed.

The woman, who was waiting in her car to go through a security checkpoint, became irritated that other vehicles were not moving fast enough.

She allegedly pulled out a gun and brandished it at other cars in hopes of speeding things up.

Diddy’s security team got wind of the woman’s antics and promptly detained her.

The 30-year-old woman was arrested by the cops, and charged with unlawful possession of a loaded firearm.

The unidentified woman was released on her own recognizance. So far, Diddy has yet to comment on the issue.

Hip-Hop Legend Bruno ‘Pop N’ Taco’ Falcon Dead; Taught Michael Jackson

Dance icon, actor and Hip-Hop legend Bruno “Pop N’ Taco” Falcon has died.

The cause of death was unknown at the time of this writing. He was 58, passing after celebrating his birthday last month.

Born on June 10, 1964 in Los Angeles, California, Falcon was a popular dancer in the 1980s, employing popping, locking, breaking and more to great success. His big break came as on of the antagonists in the hit movie “Breakin’,” a movie that was one of the first about Hip-Hop culture. He played the menacing Electro Rock 1. “Breakin'” was the first Hip-Hop film with a decidedly Los Angeles point of view, coming out the same year as “Beat Street,” which was set in The Bronx.

Falcon was also one of the view notables of Mexican heritage doing Hip-Hop in the 80s and said that he was often challenged.

“People couldn’t believe there was a Mexican who could pop,” Falcon said in an interview. “They would challenge me in front of the school or a party or a high school dance. They’d come out, right at you, right in front of your face.”

Garnering a cult-like following, he gained widespread popularly when he appeared in Micheal Jackson’s Moonwalker in 1988, “Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey” in 1991 and, and “Thumbelina” in 1994. He also made a number of appearances in music videos that took his talents to the masses. He was in Chaka Khan’s “I Feel for You,” one of the first songs to feature Hip-Hop and the the festive 1983 hit “All Night Long” by Lionel Richie.

In his later years, Falcon maintained a low-profile as a choreographer, but still managed to work with both Michael and Janet Jackson, and also taught dance to the general public.

News of his death traveled fast over social media with many offering their condolences. One of them was Breakin’ dance partner, Popin Pete.

Some People Think Beyoncé Is Channeling Lady Godiva Or Mick Jagger’s Wife On “Renaissance” Cover

Beyoncé has seemingly taken inspiration from Lady Godiva for the cover of her upcoming album Renaissance.

After surprise-releasing her previous two albums, Beyoncé took the traditional album rollout approach with Renaissance. She announced the album’s title and July 29th release date last month before dropping its lead single, the house-influenced “Break My Soul.”

She continued her rollout by sharing the album’s cover artwork, which depicts her in a minimalist spiky metallic bikini sitting atop a transparent glowing horse, which looks almost like a disco ball.

Many fans have compared the image to John Collier’s 1897 painting of Lady Godiva, a British noblewoman believed to have ridden a horse naked – covered only in her long hair – through the streets of Coventry, England.

Others have noted the similarities between the album artwork and a photo of Bianca Jagger on horseback at the legendary New York nightclub Studio 54.

On Instagram, Beyoncé explained that she wanted Renaissance to help people escape and feel free.

“Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world. It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving. My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment,” she wrote in the caption.

“A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom. It was a beautiful journey of exploration. I hope you find joy in this music. I hope it inspires you to release the wiggle. Ha! And to feel as unique, strong, and sexy as you are.”

300’s Kevin Liles Talks Young Thug, Staying Motivated, Russell Simmons’ Impact, And Protecting Black Art

Music aristocrat Kevin Liles has come a very long way. The head of 300 Entertainment is leading the charge in the music industry with a new initiative designed to defend creators against opposing forces. Liles, known as one of the heads of Def Jam Records, has emerged as a transformative figure in music, Hip-Hop and business. But, after all the accomplishments, money and accolades, his true purpose has leapt to the front.

Last week, Mr. Liles rang the bell at the NASDAQ in honor of Juneteenth and Black Music Month, but he had other things on his mind. His staunch, emotional defense of Young Thug moved many, but he has much more on the agenda. AllHipHop’s Chuck “Jigsaw” Creekmur took a bit of his time to talk with the mogul about a myriad of topics.

Check out our chat, mid-conversation.

Kevin Liles: That’s the thing. They made me so much money… I made them so much money that it stopped being about money. And so when you give yourself of service, it just becomes about how you feel. And I don’t do things to be recipient of something. I do it because it makes me feel good. You know what I mean? And that’s just where I’m at in life.

AllHipHop: How do you stay energized and motivated in these types of times? We’re in extremely turbulent times, trying times spiritually, physically, mentally. How do you stay energized?

Kevin Liles: Through scripture, through God, through meditation, through knowing that… And I think James Prince said it best, every day I get a choice and a chance.

To do better.
To do more.

AllHipHop: Right.

Kevin Liles: You know what I mean? I have this campaign that I’m working on that will launch next year, and I believe that being stagnant or thinking that you did it already and it’s not more to do… What if Michael Jordan said, “You know what, I’ve got five rings, I’ve got hundreds of millions of dollars,” he wouldn’t have a company that in 2025 will be worth 13 billion called Brand Jordan.

AllHipHop: Right. If he stopped. Yeah.

Kevin Liles: What if Tyler Perry stopped when he had a successful play? He wouldn’t be rebuilding Atlanta. What if I didn’t learn the power of me and reading Russell’s book, Do You, and being around in the power serve. Understand, there’s only me.

It’s only me now in the business and I have such an opportunity because I’m an entrepreneur. I never worked for nobody, you know what I mean? But I partner with people and I’ll do things that help our culture go forward. But what if I didn’t learn what Russell instilled in me?

So where would it be now? Who would be testifying for Young Thug?  Who would be out marching with Nas and Russell? Who would be down with Carmelo, with Freddie Gay? Because you don’t see nobody else. It’s not a food or a pill or anything that wakes me up every day. My will to be of service and to serve God.

AllHipHop: You mentioned in the fireside chat with Reverend Al Sharpton about we’re fighting the same fight as we did 30 years ago.

Kevin Liles: 50 years ago. 60 years ago.

AllHipHop: From a Hip-Hop perspective, it’s less time but yeah, obviously. Strange Fruit was brought up. How do we change things in a… I mean, obviously we have Protect Black Art, but how do we change this and create a shift that’s permanent or long lasting?

Kevin Liles: Policy. And putting people in place that look like us, grew up like us, act like us, talk like us, have some of the same problems as us. I don’t believe in politicians. I’m starting not to believe in a Democrat, Republican. I want to believe in what’s right and what’s wrong and the person that I believe in.

AllHipHop: And when we’re talking about Hip-Hop, it’s changed a lot, obviously. I put on Twitter the other day, Public Enemy. Can we get another group like that? Another game changing conscious group on a level that they were. Or on a level that pop artists are now.

Kevin Liles: The times dictate the art. When NWA said “f#ck the police” or Public Enemy said “fight the power,” remember DMX said (singing). You know, the time will reflect the art that comes out of it. And so I believe the biggest story hasn’t been told yet. Because I believe there’s a kid that walked 10 miles to go to school, barefoot. There’s a kid that had… Before he walked the ten miles to go to school, he had to walk two miles to get water to help his mom bathe. Wait til that story’s told. Not about the chains, not about the guns, not about… What til that story told from a perspective of I never had and I still don’t have, but I believe. Wait for that story to be told. So I believe the times dictate the art.

AllHipHop: Okay. And as far as the actual movement Protect Black Art, where are you with that now and what do you want to do with it? It’s obviously centered around the current case and things. But moving… How long do you want that to go or is that just centered around the here and the now?

Kevin Liles: It’s our legacy. And I say our legacy because 50,000 people have signed on. I got corporations that are starting to sign on to it. I’m not… I realize, we should’ve been protecting Black art since Nina Simone. So I realize the reason that we were able to come up with this term and why I want to dedicate my life to it because somebody has to protect us.

And so now, I want to protect Black art. Again, I only learned from Russell when we used to do Rush Philanthropic that sat on the border of… It was protecting art. It was providing art. It was giving. And so to me, again, the situation provides an opportunity for me to put a solution in that I believe people can get it by.

AllHipHop: You know, I’d be remiss in saying if… Since we have Russell here, Russell and Earl Graves (of Black Enterprise) were my mentors in my head, from books. I didn’t have a mentor, but Russell was definitely my mentor because I was reading his [books]. [To Russell Simmons] Obviously, studying the legacy of the culture through him and also reading the books that you were writing at that time. So I got to say thank you for that.

Russell Simmons: Thank you.

AllHipHop: Yeah. Because me and Greg, we’re from Delaware. We didn’t have anything to look at.

Kevin Liles: At least you had some ocean. I’m from Baltimore.

AllHipHop: Well y’all got the crabs though.

Kevin Liles: Okay, okay. Cool. At least you had some peace.

AllHipHop: Right, right.

Kevin Liles: Because ain’t harder back in my day. It wasn’t any harder than it is now. I jokingly say none of us grew up with a silver spoon in our mouth. We all grew up with rusted spoons in our mouth. But it’s having the opportunity to become not just a product of your environment but a product of your experiences. And allowing those experiences and taking other people, for them to get their interpretation of what those experiences are. And that’s what I was blessed to have and Russell and Lyor, whether it was matzo ball soup or philanthropy.

AllHipHop: Right.

Kevin Liles: You know, I just had a different perspective on things and I now want to continue that by doing what we’re doing with 300 Elektra, but also protecting Black art.

AllHipHop: You mentioned getting out the way, something along those lines.

Kevin Liles: Find the way, nurture the way, and get out of the way.

AllHipHop: How confident are you with the state of Black leadership, the state of leadership within the music industry, to create those new pioneers, those new leaders, disruptors even?

Kevin Liles: I believe that people are free. I believe that… But it’s an industry. I believe that there’s not enough diversity and inclusion in the music business, but in all businesses. And I also believe that if Rolling Stones could do it until they 80 and if Clive Davis could do it til he’s 75, I want to be around fighting that good fight because it’s not to be given to us. It’s something we’re going to have to take.

AllHipHop: Thank you. I appreciate you.

Kevin Liles: Always, brother. Always. Bless you. Anytime.

Doja Cat Explains Her Uncanny Connection With Fans On Social Media

Doja Cat thrives on connecting directly with her fans via social media.

The “Say So” singer can often be found on her various social media channels, whether she’s hopping on Instagram Live, making a TikTok video, or responding to fans on Twitter.

In an interview with ELLE magazine, the Grammy-winning star explained that she thrives on this interaction and likes to get their feedback.

“I put a lot of things out there about myself. I’m just constantly on live… Sometimes I look at myself and I’m like, Well, if you could just f###### turn off your phone for, like, five minutes….” she said. “(But) when I’m getting creative in any way, I like to see what people think of it. I’ll be like, ‘Should I do this hat or that hat?’ Or ‘We’re going to do a ’90s- inspired makeup thing today.'”

However, the 26-year-old’s openness on social media has also landed her in hot water in recent years, with her coming under fire in 2018 for a homophobic tweet she wrote in 2015. Doja apologized for each of her missteps at the time.

When asked how she copes with social media controversies, she replied, “I just turn off my phone. I delete things and reopen them when I’m ready. That’s kind of how that works for me.”

The “Kiss Me More” star also assured fans that she will always be 100 percent authentic online, even if she’s saying the wrong thing.

“There’s no formula to win, but I think there’s a formula to lose,” she stated. “If you don’t believe in what you’re doing, people aren’t stupid – they’re going to pick up on that real quick. You just have to believe in yourself. It really sounds like some s**t out of The SpongeBob Movie, but it’s true.”

Hxrdik Is A Triple Thread In The Music World

Have you ever felt such intense passion for something that it baffled most people around you? That something could mean the world to you. If given a choice, you would dedicate your entire life to it in a heartbeat. Hitmaker Hxrdik, that something is music. And his “something” is winning him global recognition.

What started as a way to channel energy went on to become a global phenomenon. Much to the surprise of the talented artist, his deeply personal music found adulation from thousands. Fans of Hxrdik appreciate the raw emotions he brings to his art, which resonate with them deeply. “He just gets me. He knows me better than me,” said one self-proclaimed biggest Hxrdik fan.

At his most vulnerable, Hxrdik feels the most creative. Unguardedness goes hand-in-hand with putting out hits like Hxrdik. More than anything, music is Hxrdik’s crutch, a beautiful coping mechanism. But not everyone who wants to create good music can create good music. When passion meets talent, a legend is born. What better example for that than Hxrdik? A true prodigy, he doesn’t follow trends – he sets them.

Critics were initially apprehensive of the artist. A panel of reputed names in the industry dismissed the artist when promotions began. But all that quickly turned around. The only thing needed to sway them was one listen of Hxrdik’s debut hit. And then the musician was truly unstoppable. Even with all the fame, the artist and his art remain as intrinsic as ever.

“I have never created music for just making profits. Music is my life. And creating music from the heart is as cathartic to me as listening to it is cathartic to my fans. We make a dream pair, my fans and me. And I will be forever grateful to them for giving me this big a voice,” says hitmaker Hxrdik.

Dr. Dre Wents Nuts And Produced 247 Songs During The Pandemic

Producer Dr. Dre said he recorded almost 250 songs during the pandemic, as he went through a high-profile divorce and recovered from a brain aneurysm.

The music mogul and mastermind behind so many iconic moments in Hip-Hop culture dropped the incredible number while recording in the studio with Busta Rhymes and Spliff Star.

He said, “I did 247 songs during the pandemic, then we paused, did a whole album with Marsha Ambrosius. That’s f###### nutso, that’s crazy.”

https://www.instagram.com/tv/CfcqSsmpuDe/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

Busta called the Marsha Ambrosius album “phenomenal.”

“Then we came back… what did we do after that? Oh, I did the ‘Grand Theft Auto’ s###, and then we working on my n#### Snoop,” he shared.

The multi-platinum selling artist said, “We got two days in right now. We got like six bangers.”

He said that he got an entire album done in two days and couldn’t think of what would be next. That’s ok, Busta knew.

Busta Rhymes said his project should be next on the roll call.

In addition to getting divorced and making music during the pandemic, Dr. Dre donated $10 million to Compton High School.

As reported by AllHipHop.com, Dr. Dre attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the $200 million revamp of the school that was founded in 1896 and boasts alumni like Eazy E, DJ Yella, The Game, Roddy Ricch, and even William Hanna, the co-founder of Hanna-Barbera, the creators of The Flintstones, Tom and Jerry, The Jetsons, The Smurfs, Scooby-Doo and so many more.

Looking back as he gets ready to leap forward, drill music pioneer and platinum-selling G Herbo unveils the music video for “Drill” with Rowdy Rebel to celebrate the one-year anniversary of his chart-topping album 25.

Merging drill influences from Chicago and New York, the menacing production underscores a raw lyrical crossfire between G Herbo and Rowdy Rebel.

In the accompanying cinematic visual, these two rap titans turn up in New York City after dark. Taking over neighborhood bodegas and the streets surrounded by friends, rap legend Jim Jones pops in for a guest appearance.

The video illuminates their chemistry on-screen and the undeniable power of this track—even a year since its release.

However, it only sets the stage for more to come from G Herbo as he prepares to drop new music very soon.

Nipsey Hussle Friend Says Street Codes Have Changed As Jurors Begin Deliberations

The concept of snitching has become paramount in the case to bring justice to the soul of Los Angeles rapper Nipsey Hussle.

For many, snitching can cause social snubbing, which is what Eric Holder Jr.s lawyers have tried to argue in the case regarding Nip’s murder.

But one of Nip’s friends says that the artist did not put Holder’s life in jeopardy and was nothing but calm when Holder approached him on that fateful day, March 31st, 2019.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Cowboy, a Rollin’ 60s member, and associate of the “Victory Lap” rapper, said Nip wasn’t reprimanding Eric Holder Jr. He was just relaying to him there was a rumor about him snitching.

Cowboy, whose government name is Herman Douglas, said Holder’s fear is rooted in old traditions that are no longer hold true.

Cowboy said on the stand during the trial, “Nowadays there’s so many snitches walking around, that’s a myth. You could walk out a gang right now. We don’t care if you walk out of the Rollin 60s, we ain’t gonna do nothing to you.”

“Me getting on the stand right now would be considered snitching. I ain’t worried,” Cowboy continued. “Maybe in the ’80s, yeah. But this is 2022. It’s time for change.”

While Cowboy did take the stand, others have been reluctant to testify during the trial — holding dear to the old code of the street.

AllHipHop.com reported that the presiding judge, H. Clay Jacke II, had to issue a bench warrant with a $500,000 bail on Thursday, June 23rd, for an eyewitness who was a no-show at the ongoing trial.

Evan “Rimpau” MacKenzie, a man who served as a pallbearer at the “Victory Lap” artist’s funeral, refused to testify for the prosecution. Another person reluctant to testify was Kerry Lathan, who was wounded in the shooting.

When Lathan did take the stand, he refused to even identify himself and Holder (as the shooter) as the surveillance footage played in court for jurors.

He said, “I don’t know nothing, don’t see nothing.”

Los Angeles police Detective Cedric Washington says the street code is real and could be a matter of life or death for some.

“I’ve investigated many cases that are outside of the scope of gang cases. I’ve found that a majority of people are reluctant to come to court or talk to law enforcement,” said Washington. “Everybody seems to think that from coming to court, they are going to be subject to retaliation.”

The jury started deliberating Eric Holder Jr.s’ fate on Friday (July 1st).

Cardi B Admits She’s Heavier Than Usual And Doesn’t Like The Look; Planning Surgery

Cardi B wants to have a tummy tuck following the birth of her second child.

The rapper welcomed her son Wave in September and spoke to her followers in a series of Instagram Stories while wearing a cropped top and jeans.

In one clip, she grabbed her stomach and revealed she was planning to get rid of “this extra little skin.”

“This stomach, it’s giving tummy tuck. Like, it’s not bad, but I just don’t like this extra little skin,” she said. “I am a little heavier than usual, but I don’t like it, I want to get rid of it. Like, I think Wavey, like, did me wrong.

“I’m over… Me and surgery goes together bad. Real bad. We go together real bad.”

Cardi, who released her Kanye West and Lil Durk collaboration Hot S**t on Friday, is no stranger to surgery. In May 2019, she revealed she underwent liposuction and breast augmentation procedures following the birth of her first child – daughter Kulture – in July 2018.

She defended her decision to go under the knife instead of exercising at the time.

“(People tell me), ‘You lazy, you should just work out,'” she said on Instagram Live. “I do whatever the f### I want to do with my body. I don’t have the time of day like you do. Like, my job as an entertainer is a 24-hour job, bro. So no, I don’t have time to work out and I wanted specific things that I know that no matter how much I work out, (will) not get fixed.”

The 29-year-old also had a boob job and butt implants before becoming famous.

Yung Divide, The 16-Year-Old Artist & Producer Unveils His New Visual “Same”

Yung Divide is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer all in one… and he’s only 16 years old.

Hailing from Chicago, a city that birthed some of the biggest names in the music industry, the rising star produces and writes all his own songs, unveiling a sound reminiscent of a cross between Iann Dior and Kid Laroi.

Having played instruments at a very early age, including guitar and piano, Yung Divide immediately gravitated to creating his own original music. After producing beats in his bedroom for almost a year, he found it was difficult to find artists that would use them.

One day, he made the bold decision to be his own recording artist, laying down vocals over his own beats for fun. Soon, recording would become his daily routine.

Fast forward to today, Yung Divide is hooked on creating, which yielded nothing but positive feedback from his peers. Now, he unveils his newest single and visual for “Same,” the perfect soundtrack to your summer romance.

AllHipHop: How would you describe your sound?

Yung Divide: Fresh. I never really know what type of song I’m going to make when I step foot in a studio. I just have loads of ideas in my head and throw them together until something sticks. I think that’s why most people enjoy my sound. I never stick to one specific genre, I’m always implementing different ones into my music.

AllHipHop: You’re from Chicago, how does that play into your life and career?

Yung Divide: There’s a lot of great creatives that have come up from Chicago and it really inspires me as an artist myself. For instance, if someone like Ye or Juice WRLD was able to put their city on the map and have their city look up to them, I dream that I can do it as well.

AllHipHop: Biggest influences?

Yung Divide: Growing up, I listened to a lot of pop music. The artist who inspired me most was definitely Ed Sheeran. Like I said, I started off playing guitar and before I even knew I wanted to be an artist, I looked up to him. Now that I’m an artist and create my own music, Post Malone is definitely another person I have gained major respect for and admire.

AllHipHop: What was the inspiration behind your name?

Yung Divide: Originally, when I was posted my first couple songs, I just went by my real name. It wasn’t until I showed one of my producer friends (CM) my music for the first time that I changed it to Yung Divide. I remember playing him one of my songs when I was still going by my real name. He sent me an Instagram login with the username Yung Divide and said “You’re going to go by Yung Divide. You’re an artist now.” I remember being like “Okay cool, this is really happening.” I liked the name the moment I saw it, it was just different.

AllHipHop: What inspired “Same”? What do you want fans to get from the record?

Yung Divide: While making “Same,” I really just heard the beat for the first time and started recording probably a minute after hearing it. A majority of it was just pieced together bits from me freestyling into the mic. It all happened in around 20 minutes and the lyrics just made sense. It came from things I was thinking about at the time and what I wanted people to hear and relate to.

AllHipHop: What was the concept behind the music video?

Yung Divide: For the video, I really wanted it to paint a picture for the lyrics so that’s exactly what happened. We had two amazing actors that played the role of a troubled couple and they really did it perfectly.

AllHipHop: Best memory from shooting?

Yung Divide: My favorite memory from shooting happened towards the end of the shoot. We were shooting at someone else’s house in a small neighborhood. The neighbors were so confused why there was a whole camera crew and video directors outside but they eventually caught on. I remember them watching me do my performance scene in the street and they were all just standing out on their front lawns. It was a pretty cool moment for me.

AllHipHop: What is it you want fans to get from your story?

Yung Divide: I mainly want the fans to know that they can do whatever they dream of. I went from recording songs in my bedroom to traveling the country while making my first project. If you put in the time and work, you can be anywhere you want in life.

AllHipHop: Being only 16, what do you like to do for fun?

Yung Divide: I watch a lot of movies. It’s a great way for me to escape and get inspired. Horror movies are definitely my favorite. I’ve been getting into fashion a little bit so going shopping is another thing I do for fun.

AllHipHop: Are you still in school? How is it balancing the music?

Yung Divide: Around the end of 2021, I switched to online school since I was traveling so much due to music. Now, I’m working on school in the mornings and focusing on my career for the rest of the day.

AllHipHop: What can we expect next? What’re you most excited for?

Yung Divide: More music and visual content on the way. I just finished up working on my first EP. I’m really excited to show my fans what I’m capable of doing sonically and seeing how they react.

Travis Scott Big “Come Back” At Festival Ruined After Day N Vegas Concert Canceled

Hope you didn’t buy your flight yet, because the Day N Vegas Festival scheduled to take place from September 2nd-4th at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds has been canceled for 2022.

According to News3lv, festival organizers, Goldenvoice, an AEG Presents subsidiary, could not get the concert together.

The announcement was made on Friday, July 1st, and blamed the cancellation on “a combination of logistics, timing and production issues.”

As a result, the refund process will start immediately.

Those who purchased their tickets will get their money back within two to four weeks.

This year’s program looked like it was going to be hot as artists like Pusha T, 21 Savage, H.E.R. Baby Keem, City Girls, Jhené Aiko, Conway the Machine, and Playboi Carti were booked to take the stage.

Each day, the headliners would have been J. Cole, SZA, and Travis Scott, an artist who was dropped from all the other festivals he had booked for this year after last year’s crowd surge at Astroworld claimed ten lives and injured hundreds more.

AllHipHop.com reported last month that Day N Vegas was the first festival to book Travis Scott since the October tragedy.

Master P And Son Hercy Give 2-Year-Old A Birthday Party After She Was Shot As Infant

Hip-Hop mogul and philanthropist Master P and his son Hercy Miller hosted a private birthday party for the 2-year-old girl, Ocean Robertson, shot in Louisville, Kentucky, back in 2020.

The baby was injured during the gunplay, limiting her family’s desire or ability to though her a party, WAVE 3 reports.

However, the No Limit Soldier stepped up to the plate and blessed the young princess with her first party since being shot that December while sitting in a car with her mother, Fa’Quansa Ancrum, also known as Molly, on West Oak Street.

The baby was spared, but her mom transitioned shortly after the accident.

The celebration was held at the Louisville Zoo on Thursday (June 30th).

“This is a great feeling today, seeing the progress, how she’s constantly fighting and growing and getting better,” said Master P. “It’s just a blessing.”

Hercy and his University of Louisville basketball teammates also celebrated the young lady, giving hope to the child who still suffers from chronic health conditions and needs continuous care from her guardians and health care team.

As reported by AllHipHop.com, Hercy signed a $2 million in 2021 with Webb Apps after the NCAA changed its NIL policy

He also left Tennessee State, an HBCU, after being injured during a game.

Happy Birthday, Miss Ocean, and many more.

Deep Wood Singer GrowingHunter On Why Music Is Much More Than Just Words Set To A Tune

What is music? Is it the coming together of different sounds and frequencies? Or is it an expression of its creator? Or perhaps an interpretation on the part of the listener? Music, it seems, is all of this at the same time. Think about any piece of music you have ever heard, and you’ll find bits and pieces of all these aspects bound together to create every song. This is why Deep Wood fame GrowingHunter believes that music speaks louder than what’s heard. Let’s hear his take.

Music is a gift for humanity. It has, in fact, been a part of nature all along. However, the ears that were to hear and appreciate it took longer to come about. But once human beings had started to evolve, they observed the sounds of nature and enjoyed its complex rhythmic patterns, as though they appeared from a divine throat itself. This sound-only quality of music has been with us longer than words have been. Once language came about, words naturally found their way into music.

And today, we seldom have musical pieces that aren’t accompanied by words. For GrowingHunter, “the words are a part of the music. They aren’t required to make music, music. They are a part of music and its growth. And the music itself is what the creator brings to the audience. He or she might be guided by a force of inspiration or be just looking for a vent or a way of understanding something complex.

And it’s that present moment that gets embedded in the music created. Of course, then it’s the audiences’ turn to color it with their own understanding. For me, the ability of music to take on all forms yet maintain its core is something that goes beyond all the raw ingredients that create it.”

GrowingHunter’s enthusiasm and passion are contagious indeed. And we wish him all the best.

Kanye West Sued By House Musician For Stealing Sample On “Donda 2” And Refusing To Pay

Kanye West is being sued for copyright infringement for allegedly sampling a song without permission on his Donda 2 track “Flowers.”

The rapper, who also goes by his legal name Ye, has been accused of using Marshall Jefferson’s 1986 house track “Move Your Body” on “Flowers” without getting permission or providing compensation.

In the complaint, filed by Jefferson’s publisher Ultra International Music Publishing in New York, they allege that Kanye West and his representatives acknowledged that “Move Your Body” was sampled in Flowers without authorization or compensation.

They claim the sample is repeated “at least 22 times throughout” “Flowers.”

“Defendants’ conduct is willful and deliberate,” the complaint reads. “Defendants know and have been informed that they do not possess a license to utilize the Composition in the Unauthorized Work, and yet continue to willfully infringe in blatant disregard of UIMP’s rights of ownership.”

Ultra executives are seeking an injunction to stop Kanye West and the other defendants from continuing to infringe on “Move Your Body.”

They also want profits and damages to be determined at a trial or the maximum statutory damages of $150,000 per infringement.

West released Donda 2 in February exclusively on his Stem Player, a music device that allows users to isolate parts of songs. Alex Klein, the co-creator of the Stem Player, has also been named as a defendant along with his company Kano Computing Limited.

This isn’t the first time the “Stronger” rapper has been sued over a sample. Most recently, he was sued by Bishop David P. Moten in May for allegedly sampling one of his sermons on “Come to Life,” a track on his 2021 album Donda.

Kanye West has yet to publicly respond to the legal action.

Nicki Minaj Disses Kanye West (And Maybe Cardi B) At Essence Fest

Nicki Minaj does not mess with clowns!

She lashed out at Kanye West, seemingly out of nowhere.

The Essence Festival aka “Auntie Fest” has been going on through the holiday weekend. I heard it’s a hoot. Last night, Nicki Minaj took to the stage. The celebrated festival was being live-streamed the EVERYBODY though to Hulu, but they stopped the transmission on Nicki’s part!! WHAT!

No remember, Nicki has an incredible fanbase that goes hamsterdam if their whims are not fulfilled. So, they were on deck to see their queen perform. But, the lifestream suddenly cut off and they went straight to social media to complain about everything! In their defense, Nicki Minaj was used to promote the festival and the live stream so they are disappointment is quite justified.

Good thing for us, the performance did go on. And a lot of people captured it on their various phones and other things, uploading them to the Internet. Nicki Minaj did perform her verse on “Monster “but she cut off this song basically saying “I don’t mess with clowns.”

Nicki did not expound on what the issue was presently. But, this all happens on the exact same day that Cardi B’s new song featuring Kanye West and Lil Durk comes out. So, we can connect the dots relatively easy. She’s not feeling Kanye West because he is working with her adversary. Enough said!

Jayland Walker Murdered, Cops Shot Him 60 Times

Another unarmed black person was shot and murdered by the police this summer seems like the norm now. We are supposed to continue on with a Fourth of July celebration that yields cookouts, fireworks, and overall good times. However, if you are smart and in tune with what’s really going on you’ll come to the conclusion that true independence will come only when they stop killing Black people.

Jayland Walker was shot more than 60 times, with a total number of over 90 shots fired by Akron, Ohio police. He was unarmed. The 25-year-old had some presently-mysterious altercation with officers that resulted in a horrific homicide.

The recent autopsy concluded he was struck dozens of times and it has already formally been ruled a homicide. There were bullet wounds in the front of his body, as well as his back and lower legs. Some of those wounds may have been exit wounds, but they were all there

What had happened was…

Akron police say that they tried to stop Walker’s car after midnight on Monday for a traffic infraction and something ambiguous related to the equipment on his vehicle. Suddenly, Walker is leading them on a high-speed chase. They are saying that the pursuit went down the road for roughly 4 1/2 minutes where his vehicle hit about 80 mph at times and then he jumped out of the car.

The cops say they tried to use their tasers, but eventually they resorted to employing their guns, alleging they were fearful their heavily-armed lives. The whole incident was captured on body cams. For a nice brutal cherry on top, the Akron officers even shot Walker as he was already on the ground dead. They also handcuffed him after riddling his body with the hail of bullets. Standard procedure.

Presently, they are trying to determine out why he ran from police. Maybe, he was freaking scared. This is how terrorism works. Walker has no prior criminal record and the police were not even looking for him. According to the cops, he did have a gun in the car AND fired upon them. I don’t believe that. How can we believe the word of a violent posse that would indiscriminately take a life in such a reckless, brazen way? We already know some crooked cops keep something to plant on you just in case they do something wrong.

By the way, seven of the eight officers that shot up Walker were white. Walker’s family hasn’t said a lot, but according to reports they do want peace. I think it is a bit late for that. Here are some more statements from the cops and the mayor.

“We know that no police officer ever wants to discharge their service weapon in the line of duty. And anytime they must, it’s a dark day for our city, for the families of those involved, as well as for the officers. Tragically, we are once again faced with a young man, with his life before him, gone too soon. Every single life is precious, and the loss of any life is absolutely devastating to our entire community. Our prayers are with Jayland Walker’s loved ones, and we offer our sincere condolences to all those who knew him. Our thoughts are also with our Akron police officers and their families.

“We want to reassure our citizens that more information will be coming in the following days, including the body-worn camera footage that recorded this incident. We are keeping our promise to the community, understanding that there can be no trust without transparency and follow-through on commitment.

“We have every confidence in the Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation to conduct a thorough, fair, and honest investigation. We will cooperate fully with that investigation and have made it a top priority for our staffs. As a city, we are committed to this process and trust that it will yield a fuller understanding of this incident.”

OH yeah: Akron, Ohio, cancelled their Fourth of July celebration.

Now what do you think?
