Kanye West believes that he has a plan to enhance the lives of the unsheltered in Southern California. The multi-hyphenate is partnering with others to help eradicate homelessness in Los Angeles.
According to TMZ the billionaire has connected with Rev. Troy Vaughn, CEO of L.A. Mission, to share his plan.
The first phase of his plan will target food insecurity for the unsheltered population. During the week of Thanksgiving, he donated 1,000 meals.
Other phases involve him tapping into his resources through his personally owned companies to contribute to establishing opportunities to provide education, jobs and job readiness, and housing.
Yeezy even believes that he can use his platform and inspirational Sunday Service choir to restore humanity into the often objectified and ignored population.
Indeed Ye sees this as God’s work.
As he spoke to the people who are supported and impacted by the work of L.A. Mission, he shared that he believes that God is using the ups and downs of his marriage to Kim Kardashian as an inspirational model for other couples. Despite the two being on course for divorce, the “Jesus Walks” chart-topper believes God will restore their relationship.
“That’s not the narrative that God wants,” he said. “The narrative that God wants is for you to see that everything can be redeemed.”
“In all these relationships, we have made mistakes. I’ve made mistakes,” he confessed.
“I’ve publicly done things that are not acceptable as a husband. But right now today … I’m here to change that narrative. I’m not letting E! or Hulu write the narrative for my family. I’m not letting Disney write the narrative,” he declared. “I am the priest of my home.”
He ended, “When God brings Kim K (and Me) together, it’s gonna be millions of families that are going to be influenced and know that they can overcome separation.”
As reported by AllHipHop.com, this is not the first time that Kanye has expressed that he wanted to work with homelessness and or restore his family. Just last week, during his Thanksgiving prayer on IG, he passionately asked her to forgive him and reconcile so they can be a family again.
On Sunday night, African singer Wizkid almost had a Travis Scott moment after fans recklessly stormed security barriers during the Made in Lagos Tour in London.
Luckily, the authorities at the O2 Arena swiftly handled the melee and prevented any significant injuries or deaths from happening.
However, they could not stop the videos from hitting the internet.
Represent London posted the chaos on its Twitter feed, captioning, “People are literally breaking in to see Wizkid at London o2.”
There could be several reasons. According to the New York Post, it was the first time that singer and tour opener Chris Brown performed in the U.K. since his 2009 Rihanna fight.
Another reason could be COVID-related. After being confined in their homes for almost two years, people just want to get out.
Some believe people just wanted to get in for free as suggested by the NY Post.
According to the O2 Arena’s spokesperson, the breach of the security cordon happened at the entrance of the arena entrance. In a statement, the spokesperson told the BBC, “a number of fans in the queue were able to enter the venue” and that the surge “was quickly contained by staff and the incident resolved.”
The venue is now “reviewing security procedures for the remaining shows this week and advises fans to arrive early for security checks tomorrow night and again on Wednesday.”
Mr. Alize, who attended the concert, said he felt safe.
He posted a video of people moving orderly with the caption, “@wizkidayo United Africans and Caribbean’s in O2 and it was beautiful I felt so safe amongst all my brothers and sisters – JUST PEACE! NO PROBLEM #StarBoy.”

Funeral services for Young Dolph were held at the First Baptist Church on Broad Avenue in Memphis on Tuesday.
Young Dolph, whose real name was Adolph Robert Thornton Jr., was laid to rest at a private ceremony for his family. Memphis police blocked off certain streets to provide traffic control for the funeral procession.
“MPD is on the scene 2835 Broad Avenue for the funeral of Adolph Robert Thornton Jr.,” police said. “The family of Adolph Robert Thornton Jr. asks that everyone please respect their privacy during this difficult time as they mourn the loss of their loved one.”
Young Dolph was shot and killed in Memphis on November 17. Two gunmen drove up and opened fire at the late rapper when he stopped by a local bakery called Makeda’s Homemade Butter Cookies.
Police haven’t publicly identified Young Dolph’s attackers. Authorities did release photos of the two suspects, who were both wearing masks during the shooting.
Surveillance footage showed the gunmen pull up to the bakery in a white Mercedes Benz. The suspects were armed as they exited the car and approached Young Dolph, shooting him several times before fleeing the scene.
Young Dolph was 36 years old. He’s survived by two children with his longtime girlfriend Mia Jaye.
Tributes were paid to Abloh during the star-studded ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
Idris Elba – a friend of the designer – read out the Maya Angelou poem ‘When Great Trees Fall’ in a tribute to the former artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear collection.
Before he read the poem, Idris said: “I lost a friend, his wife lost a husband, the fashion industry lost a legend, and the world lost a special human being.
“He was one of the few people I could have a conversation (with) about multitasking. But he didn’t do it for the fame or the money, he did it to inspire others.”
Abloh was awarded the Leader of Change accolade for creating “positive change within the fashion industry in the past year,” according to the British Fashion Council (BFC).
Caroline Rush, the chair of the BFC, and Stephanie Phair, the chair, also heaped praise on Abloh, describing the late designer as a “creative force of change, who throughout his career focused on inclusivity and philanthropy across fashion, art, music, design, and architecture, making him one of the most influential designers of his generation.”
This year’s event was the first in-person Fashion Awards since 2019, due to the pandemic, and the ceremony was attended by a host of big names from the world of fashion and beyond, including the likes of Dua Lipa, Demi Moore, Gabrielle Union, Hailee Steinfeld, and Adriana Lima.
Hurricane Chris is back and better than he’s ever been. Hailing from Louisiana but currently based in Texas, you may recognize the multi-Platinum rapper from his viral smash hit “Ay Bay Bay,” which quickly became a worldwide phenomenon.
The record itself had people all around the world screaming “Ay Bay Bay!” in the clubs.
Fast forward to 2021, Travis Scott even shouts him out in Don Toliver’s “You,” with the line “A lil’ brown skin hurricane, a bay-bay, bring the wave.”
After a 4-year hiatus, in which Chris shifted his focus to his family and starting new business ventures, he now returns with his newest bop titled “Keep Movin,” another club banger that’s been picking up steam since the #UpDownChallenge.
Last year in summer 2020, Chris was in his home state when someone tried to rob him and take his car at a gas station. The incident resulted in murder charges, but Chris was let go on claims of self-defense.
AllHipHop: How was your time in LA?
Hurricane Chris: It was good, gotta stay active man. Chillin’ out there, I did a show at the Globe Theater. Smoke a bunch of that real deal Cali gas.
AllHipHop: How did it feel to perform, post-pandemic?
Hurricane Chris: Man, it was crazy! Everybody came out. It was sold out. It was stupid. The hood, the suburbs, everybody came to see Hurricane. It was lit.
AllHipHop: That’s a bigger venue too right?
Hurricane Chris: Hell yeah, it’s a theatre. It’s probably the biggest show I’ve ever done since Corona. I just been in the house chillin’, trying to stay safe. When my city got COVID, a lot of people I knew got COVID. I knew a lot of people that died from COVID. It made me pay a lot of attention to it. I would just stay in the house. I would walk around with a big gas mask on! I don’t know what’s going on, but hey! Give me the shot!
AllHipHop: A lot of artists get sick of their hits. Do you get sick of performing or hearing “Ay Bay Bay”?
Hurricane Chris: Hell nah, that’s some s### I love to do. That’s my passion. I’ma tell you any rapper that tells you that b#######, is trying to make themself look like they’re fly or some s###. You have thousands and thousands of people together screaming with you, who gon’ get tired of that?
AllHipHop: I know you took a little break. What led to the 4-year hiatus?
Hurricane Chris: I guess just me wanting to learn how to do business, outside of the music industry. Music is one thing, but I was signed to a major label so I kind of wasn’t in control of my future.
AllHipHop: What label were you signed to?
Hurricane Chris: I was signed to Polo Grounds with Bryan Leach, but he got me distributed through J Records. That was Clive Davis.
AllHipHop: They were trying to dictate what you could do?
Hurricane Chris: I wouldn’t say dictate, but they had the wrong artist for what they’re trying to do. They had one thing on their mind and I was focused on actually rapping. They were more focused on putting out catchy singles and repetitive songs. I was trying to bring what I had to the table.
AllHipHop: How does it feel to now be releasing independently?
Hurricane Chris: Like a real boss! I look up in the morning, decide what I want to do and make a final decision. It’s a way better position for me with the knowledge that I’ve obtained. I know what to do now. You got to find somebody else to treat like a little boy. I’m not reporting to nobody, I’m calling the shots.
AllHipHop: I respect that. I know you got your new single “Keep Movin.”
Hurricane Chris: Yeah, I got a single called “Keep Movin.” I dropped a video called “Back to Back.” I got a new video called “Hennessy” finna drop. I got one of them from the block joints finna drop, with the mic hanging out of the sky. So I’m working right now, got a lot of heat on the way.
AllHipHop: The #UpDownChallenge is going up How’s TikTok been treating you?
Hurricane Chris: It’s something new for me. I just got to pay attention to it and learn. My kids showed me what TikTok was, I didn’t even know what it was. My son, my little sisters be showing me.
AllHipHop: Aw, how old is your son?
Hurricane Chris: I got an 8-year-old. They showed me that, I just made a song and put it on there. Everybody started doing it. I really make music, so I ain’t gon’ tell you I’m a TikTok artist or nothing like that. It’s cool. But most of it, I’m gonna be focusing on dropping that real deal dope. You’re gonna catch most of my content on my Youtube page. I’ma give you that real deal dope, that real rap.
AllHipHop: What are your thoughts on the current state of Hip Hop?
Hurricane Chris: I like it. We got a lot of dope artists out. I’m not gonna hate on nobody, I’ll never be a hater. We got a lot of rappers saying they don’t like this, they don’t like that. I don’t do any of that hating. I’ma keep it all the way one thousand with you. Lil Durk, Lil Baby, all them boys are hard. I ain’t fake on nobody. Ain’t doing no faking. If you’re doing your thing, I’ma tell you you’re doing your thing. No hating, no faking!
AllHipHop: That’s love. I f### with that energy for real.
Hurricane Chris: We can not even like each other. But if you jamming, you doing what you’re doing like you’re supposed to be doing, then I’m gonna pay respect where respect is due.
AllHipHop: How did it feel to have Travis Scott shout you out on the Don Toliver song?
Hurricane Chris: Yeah, Travis Scott shouted me out on Don’s album. Hell yeah! I was just at the house, in the bed and somebody sent it to me. I’m like “Okay, bet bet bet.” I got to put him in one. It ain’t nothing but love. I like Travis Scott, he makes good music.
AllHipHop: Do you guys have a relationship at all?
Hurricane Chris: Nah, I ain’t never met him. I never seen him, ever. I like his music though, he’s definitely a superstar. He’s one of those people that could probably stop making music and still make money off his albums.
AllHipHop: What was your first reaction when you saw Halle Berry dancing to your song?
Hurricane Chris: Man, I went crazy! I lost my mind when I saw Halle Berry dancing my song. That was a major accomplishment for me. If Instagram was out, I’d been all in the DMs and everything!
AllHipHop: I ask a lot of artists their celebrity crush and a lot of them say Halle Berry, that’s hilarious.
Hurricane Chris: That’s crazy, and she way too old for them. [laughs] It probably be young rappers saying that too. That’s when you know you did your thing. She’s a real legend. These rappers talking about Halle Berry, she probably could be their mama or grandmama.
AllHipHop: How does cannabis improve your life?
Hurricane Chris: Appetite, things of that nature. Getting sleep, nausea, it helps with that. Since I was a baby, I always had nausea. I was born with running stomach issues, so it does a lot.
AllHipHop: I’m sorry. Does that mean you got to be picky with what you eat?
Hurricane Chris: I’m supposed to be picky, but I don’t follow it. I wake up in pain. [laughs]
AllHipHop: Shoutout to weed being medicine for real!
Hurricane Chris: Straight up!
AllHipHop: What you got going on next?
Hurricane Chris: I got a video shoot coming up. I’m finna shoot a video in Louisiana to a song I got called “Slide.” I’m just in the studio man. I’ma keep dropping video, after video, after video. Go to my Youtube, you gon’ be able to get all that dope right there. You dig!
AllHipHop: You got any collabs? You working with anyone?
Hurricane Chris: Nah, I ain’t working with anybody. It’s all me. Like NBA Youngboy, it’s just me. YoungBoy ain’t have no features. He’s #1, so we taking that approach. It’s all about me right now. Your fans don’t really want to hear too many people on your music, they want to hear you! If I buy a Lil Uzi Vert or Lil Baby album, that’s what I want to hear. I’m not really buying Lil Baby’s album like that.
AllHipHop: Anything else you want to let the people know?
Hurricane Chris: Make sure you keep God first, keep your family safe. Keep God first, you and your family safe. Make sure you stay prayed up. Thank the man above every morning when you wake up, ain’t nobody had to wake us up. Focus on smiles, there’s a lot going on in the world. Love everybody, that’s what I’m on.
Music is used by Maddy Belle to elicit emotional responses from her audience. This is particularly evident in the song “Fading Away.” The song has done wonders for Maddy’s career as a musician since its release. Maddy now has the opportunity to show off her powers to the rest of the globe.
“Fading Away” is Maddy’s debut single. Despite being her debut song, it does not appear to be unprofessional. This is because Rumor Records aided her in composing the song. Maddy has progressed from a novice musician to a musical prodigy. In this case, we must also recognize her abilities.
She is a well-known model who has appeared in international magazines. She’s worked with a range of companies, and her work has featured in a variety of media outlets. She also resides in Los Angeles. It’s clear she likes having a good time. She began to exhibit an interest in music after that. Her appreciation grew into a passion, and she became involved in the music world.
DJ Kane Ryan’s latest track, “Reckless West,” has stolen his listeners’ breath away. The song has only been available for a few months. However, in such a short period of time, the song has amassed a sizable audience. Every day, the number of people who follow you grows somewhat.
Ryan, a Los Angeles-based artist, has made a name for himself as a musician who understands the power of music to communicate himself. He has been on a wide range of shows all throughout the world. “Reckless West,” his most recent CD, has three tunes that are all growing increasingly popular.
Thanks to Rumor Records, Ryan has been able to share his music with the rest of the world. He has been quite vocal during the development process. Rumor Records was kind enough to take the time to listen to his worries and requests. We are speechless when we hear the final result
Recently, JVY expressed his intention to inspire the next generation of creatives. Playlisting as we know it, allows you to explore musical taste from the curator. Providing a glimpse into JVY’s world, here’s what he’s listening to and inspired by.
The loud music blasting via Instagram stories makes it pretty obvious that JVY places himself in a musical space. The curated environment creates inspiration which then translates into what he creates, to live on its own.
My business partner Trebor would always send me new stuff to check out before it became popular. Like Juice Wrld Trippie Redd, Baby Keem, Coi Leary a few others too. I can’t think of them all right now but we would be on it early and understand the vision. I feel like that’s a huge reason why the artists continuously show Ammo Stilo love even after they blow up. Some even opened opportunities to design, create content, or even creative direct for.
It all would just happen organically. We never really forced trying to work with any of these now-discovered acts since we had no knowledge or nothing to actually offer lol. After a year or so, we’d see the same talent going viral on the internet or finally getting their flowers once the masses finally caught on.
Ammo Stilo is now developing their music branch. Recently they distributed their first single with Philly rising talent, Jah$tar. “Jah$tar is the first from AMMO Worldwide. It’s kinda scary knowing he has so much raw talent and hasn’t even reached his full potential yet. Whenever he’s ready we think he’ll trailblaze an entirely new path. It’s all about authenticity and longevity. Not everyone understands that, but he does. That’s super important when creating anything. You’ll see. Him floating throughout the playlists for sure.”
Sean Garrett is truly an incredible, legendary and prolific songwriter, producer and artist with a tremendous amount of chart-topping work under his belt. From his early success to his epic Verzuz battle with The-Dream to his work on Summer Walker’s latest album, ‘Still Over It,’ Sean Garrett is definitely THE PEN!
Garrett has 52 No.1’s, 18 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1’s, and credits including Beyonce, Chris Brown, Usher, Mary J. Blige, Destiny’s Child, Diddy, Britney Spears, Pussycat Dolls, and more.
He was ranked by Billboard as the 5th greatest producer with the most number ones in a short span of time (seven years), and he is also the only active Hip Hop producer that is mentioned on the Billboard list of producers with the most number one hits.
While Garrett is known for more rhythmic commercial hits, his pen game is pretty diverse. Sean’s ability to connect with female artists and write from their perspective has also been incredibly impressive.
Garrett also penned the fan-favorite hits such as Usher’s “Yeah,” Beyonce’s “Ring The Alarm,” “Upgrade You,” “Get Me Bodied,” Destiny Child’s “Girl,” “T-Shirt,” “Soldier,” “Lose My Breath,” “Through With Love,” and Ciara’s “Goodies.”
When Sean is not busy crafting new hits, he’s busy mentoring the up-and-coming writers, producers, and artists of today about the ins and outs of the music business.
AllHipHop’s Rea Davis caught up with Sean to discuss his successful career, classic Verzuz Battle, working with the greats such as Beyonce and Usher, the impact of Summer Walker’s album, and what’s on the horizon.
On Monday, Louis Vuitton Chairman and CEO Michael Burke announced the French fashion house will be debuting his final collection to “pay tribute to the life and legacy of a creative genius.”
“It is with profound sorrow that I learned of the passing of Virgil Abloh,” Burke said in a statement shared to Instagram.
“Virgil was not only a friend, great collaborator, creative genius, visionary, and disruptor, but also one of the best cultural communicators of our times. He paved the way for future generations. As a devoted supporter of his community through his charities and passions, he was an eternal optimist who believed anything was possible.
“In this same spirit, we at Louis Vuitton will proudly continue to celebrate his legacy with a final show in Miami, per his wishes. I am honored to have called him my friend. My deepest thoughts are with his wife, children, parents, family, and the entire community that was touched by his greatness.”
The post includes a video of a boy riding a bike through Miami and encountering a hot air balloon featuring the Louis Vuitton logo. He climbs aboard with wonder, and the screen fades to black as the words “Virgil was here” appear on the screen.
“He chose to endure his battle privately since his diagnosis in 2019, undergoing numerous challenging treatments, all while helming several significant institutions that span fashion, art, and culture,” the Instagram announcement of Abloh’s death read in part.
“Through it all, his work ethic, infinite curiosity, and optimism never wavered. Virgil was driven by his dedication to his craft and to his mission to open doors for others and create pathways for greater equality in art and design. He often said, ‘Everything I do is for the 17-year-old version of myself, believing deeply in the power of art to inspire future generations.”
Comedian Dave Chappelle’s high school theater will still be named for him, despite the controversy surrounding his Netflix special “The Closer.”
Officials at Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington D.C. have opted to go ahead with the renaming, even after a question and answer session at the school last week reportedly grew chaotic, as students called out Chappelle’s allegedly transphobic remarks in the comedy show.
After the divisive visit to Ellington, Chappelle wrote on Instagram that he was conducting a fundraiser to let donors “vote” for or against the proposed name change.
“My only intent is to ensure Duke Ellington (provides) the opportunity to train its artists unfettered,” Chappelle said in part in the post.
However, school officials will proceed with the renaming, regardless of the results of the fundraiser.
“While we appreciate Dave’s impromptu and spirited fundraising initiative, we stand behind our decision to honor the wishes of our co-founder, the late Peggy Cooper Cafritz, to name the theater after Chappelle,” a statement from the school reads, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“All donations will go towards arts programming, and every donor, irrespective of their support or opposition to the theater naming, will receive an official thank you from our team.”
The statement continued, “Chappelle cares deeply about Ellington and its students and regards them as family. He made an unannounced visit before the Thanksgiving break to meet with his Ellington family and to hear directly from the few students who have concerns about his recent comedy special, The Closer. He also wanted to directly express support for their safety in light of some disturbing online comments targeting the Ellington community.”
The statement also insisted the “majority of students” at the school support the change.
“Although it appears that the clear majority of students at Ellington favor naming the theater for Dave Chappelle, we are seizing this moment to demonstrate the importance of carefully listening to every voice within our diverse and inclusive community,” the release concluded.
During a recent interview with Fat Joe, Fetty Wap mentioned his bouts with depression after losing his 4-year-old daughter Lauren Maxwell over the summer.
His daughter’s mother, Turquoise Miami, flipped out on him for mentioning their child.
Turquoise asserted that Fetty doesn’t have the right to utter anything about the child in death because he was a deadbeat when she was alive.
Turquoise Miami did not end it there.
She claimed that the “Trap Queen” rapper is using his daughter’s death as a marketing ploy to help his career because he is launching a project in late October called The Butterfly Effect and connecting it to the toddler’s love for the colorfully-winged insects.
The bereaved mom stated, “She likes butterflies just like she likes all animals, but she was always a mermaid princess. Like the little mermaid…that was her thing!
She had the mermaid doll, the matching clothes, she made me buy her best friend a mermaid doll too,” Turquoise continued pointing out the fact that he was such a neglectful dad that he made up her butterfly fascination to gain sympathy from fans.
“We had to watch ‘The Little Mermaid’ every day and sing along to the soundtrack every morning,” she adds. “I’m not throwing no f###### butterflies knowing it was a marketing scheme for a N#### to use.”
In addition to naming his album “The Butterfly Effect,” after his child’s death on July 24th, three weeks after his 30th birthday, Fetty told fans on his Instagram to drop butterflies in his comments in her memory.
In his interview with Fat Joe, Fetty said he was in “a dark space” since little Lauren’s passing.
Turquoise was not having it. She later addressed his interview with the Terror Squad general. After Fetty shared that it gets dark for him sometimes, she stated, “You’re grieving for the time that you didn’t take advantage of. You’re not actually grieving because you miss this little girl because you have a connection with
her.”
“You didn’t call her every day, you didn’t call her every week, you didn’t call her every month,” Turquoise vehemently spat. “This n#### probably called her about one to two times a f###### year. You’re not grieving for what you actually lost because when you had the ability to have it, you were not interested.”
The Jersey rapper has not directly commented on her allegations. He did post a subliminal response on IG that could give fans a notion of where he is with them.
“I’m Fighting real life s### … I don’t respect the internet s### .. Much love for the ones who bring peace in my life at this point 〽️s … #Focused
Rihanna has been honored as Barbados’ 11th National Hero.
On Monday (November 29th) night, the “Work” singer was recognized with a public ceremony in Bridgetown, Barbados, which also served as the Inauguration Ceremony for the country’s first-ever President, Dame Sandra Mason.
“The creation of this republic offers a new beginning,” he said. “From the darkest days of our past and the appalling atrocity of slavery which forever stains our history, people of this island forged their path with extraordinary fortitude.”
Prime Minister Mia Mottley, Barbados’ republican movement leader, honored Rihanna with her National Hero prize.
“May you continue to shine like a diamond and bring honor to your nation by your works, by your actions,” she said.
Since her arrival on the music scene in the early 1990s, Mary J. Blige established herself as one of the most accomplished R&B voices of all time. Nine Grammy Award wins and two Oscar nominations later, MJB continues to reign as the Queen of Hip Hop Soul.
In recent years, Mary J. Blige turned her attention to acting by starring in movies like Mudbound and Respect as well as television programs like The Umbrella Academy and Power Book II: Ghost. However, Blige is looking to return to her musical roots soon.
Mary J. Blige made an appearance on The Tamron Hall Show this week. Hall asked the 50-year-old native New Yorker about her upcoming 14th studio LP, and Blige teased the project will be worth the wait.
“Wait until you hear it, it’s going to blow everybody’s mind,” said Blige. “It’s because it’s something I had to do, and something I had to say when I was in my darkest, darkest moments in that life, to build myself up to this person that I can see and accept my nose, accept my eyes, accept my cheeks, accept all the things that I used to hate.”
It’s Been Four Years Since MJB Dropped A Studio Album
2017’s Strength of a Woman is Mary J. Blige’s most recent full-length release. That effort peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200 chart and #1 on the Top R&B Album chart with 78,000 first-week units.
Throughout her career, Mary J. Blige scored four Billboard 200 Number Ones – 1997’s Share My World, 2003’s Love & Life, 2005’s The Breakthrough, and 2007’s Growing Pains. Her sophomore set, My Life, only hit #7, but the 1994 album is widely considered Blige’s best body of work.
“Family Affair” off the No More Drama albumis Mary J. Blige’s biggest single to date. The song spent six weeks at #1 on the Hot 100 chart. She has 41 total entries on the Hot 100 and six Top 10 hits.
MJB Discusses The Impact Of Her Classic ‘My Life’ Album
“That album is so full of just moments that were dark for me,” Blige told Hall about My Life. “But every time I speak to a fan they’ll say ‘well, it helped me to get married’ or ‘it helped me get out of a bad marriage’ or ‘it took me through college.'”
She continued, “But for me, it was like, ‘Oh man, I just want to die.’ So it’s so many tears and I wanted to be loved, you know by this man, and I didn’t love myself, and I didn’t know where the love was supposed to come from. So it was just heavy.”
Apple had announced the winners of the third annual Apple Music Awards. Each November, the streaming service recognizes the best artists of that year and their influence on global culture.
“The past 12 months have proved to be a remarkable year for music, and we’re thrilled to honor the artists that are shaping culture and connecting with fans around the world on Apple Music,” said Oliver Schusser, Apple’s Vice President of Apple Music and Beats.
Schusser continued, “This year we’re also recognizing more regional artists, showing the world the impact of extraordinary talented musicians who are making waves globally.”
The Weeknd won Global Artist Of The Year. The R&B/Pop sensation stated, “I’m so grateful for this huge honor and want to thank Apple for all its support, not only for my work but also for great music by newer artists, where it matters so much for creators to be found and supported.”
Apple Music named H.E.R. as the Songwriter Of The Year. Wizkid took home Artist Of The Year (Africa). Newcomer Olivia Rodrigo pulled off a victory trifecta. She won Breakthrough Artist Of The Year, Album Of The Year (Sour), and Song Of The Year (“Drivers License”).
“I am very honored and blessed to receive this recognition,” said H.E.R. “As a young Black and Filipino artist, and a woman who is on the stage giving my all, there’s no doubt that representation is important. Thank you so much, Apple Music.”
Nigeria’s Wizkid commented, “Thank you to Apple Music for this award. It’s a blessing to get to do what I do, and I’m proud to be representing for Africa.”

9-year-old Ezra Blount lost his life after attending Travis Scott’s 2021 Astroworld Festival. Blount was the youngest of ten people killed from the massive crowd surge that took place on November 5 in Houston.
According to reports, Ezra Blount’s loved ones turned down an offer from Travis Scott to pay for the child’s funeral services. Scott’s attorney, Daniel Petrocelli, wrote a letter to the Blount family.
The Blounts’ lawyers, Bob Hilliard and Ben Crump, were apparently contacted by Scott’s legal team on November 24. Ezra Blount’s funeral took place on November 23.
“Your client’s offer is declined. I have no doubt Mr. Scott feels remorse. His journey ahead will be painful. He must face and hopefully see that he bears some of the responsibility for this tragedy,” read a response from Bob Hilliard.
Hilliard continued, “There may be, and I hope there is, redemption and growth for him on the other side of what this painful process will be — and perhaps one day, once time allows some healing for the victims and acceptance of responsibility by Mr. Scott and others, [Ezra Blount’s father] Treston and Mr. Scott might meet, as there is also healing in that.”
Ezra Blount’s family sued Travis Scott, his Cactus Jack Records label, Live Nation, and other defendants for gross negligence. Scott is facing numerous lawsuits from Astroworld festivalgoers claiming they were badly injured or emotionally scarred by what local police called a “mass casualty event.”
Fans have been wrapped up in the ongoing drama involving Saweetie, Lil Baby, and Quavo. Over the past few days rumors about Saweetie and Lil Baby secretly dating ran wild on social media.
The speculation of a new celebrity couple started building steam following reports claiming Lil Baby spent over $100,000 on a shopping spree for Saweetie. Then the “Icy Chain” rapstress posted a cryptic Instagram photo that many people believed featured an appearance by Baby.
Then Migos member Quavo added his thoughts on the gossip-filled situation involving his ex-girlfriend Saweetie and his Quality Control labelmate Lil Baby. Quavo wrote, “Ain’t trippin. We can swap it out! #QCTHELABEL 🤟🏾.”
Not long after Quavo’s IG message, Lil Baby took to Twitter to offer an indirect response to the ongoing drama. Baby’s now-deleted tweets read, “B###### really be weird!!… If you want clout use BABY.”
It now appears Saweetie has commented on the ordeal as well. Again, the California-raised rapper posted an ambiguous tweet that could be seen as a reply to Lil Baby and/or Quavo.
On Monday afternoon, Saweetie simply tweeted, “BUILT TO LAST ❄️.” A majority of the replies and quote-tweets focused on the open-ended questions about her relationship status.
Meanwhile, Saweetie is coming off a mixed-reviewed debut performance on Saturday Night Live. She also earned her first two Grammy nominations on November 23. The 28-year-old Warner recording artist is up for Best Rap Song (“Best Friend” featuring Doja Cat) and Best New Artist at the 64th Annual ceremony.

Often, grief renders words worthless. It is, only through time’s passing, and through proactive action, that the associated angst finally begins to abate. Embracing his Art, Ye, has submerged himself in music. Yesterday (Nov. 29), from his Sunday Service choir, the “Praise God” MC, shared a necessary offering. The purifying performance, was dedicated to the life and to the legacy of Virgil Abloh.
For over two years, Virgil Abloh, valiantly fought his private battle. Regardless, of his internal war, he carried on. Virgil would go on to become a ubiquitous entity. Whether, working on lux Louis Vuitton designs, or drawing inspiration from visceral graffiti, his artistry was boundless.
Kanye and Virgil fused the line between friendship and family. Revered as a “fiercely devoted father, husband, son, brother, and friend,” Virgil Abloh’s physical absence will long be felt. If, and when, Kanye decides to share his grief, the world will listen.
