Prince Could Get Posthumous Congressional Gold Medal Thanks To Senator Amy Klobuchar And Rep. Ilhan Omar

U.S. politicians from Prince’s home state of Minnesota intend to recognize the late superstar with a posthumous Congressional Gold Medal.

Senator Amy Klobuchar and Minnesota state representative Ilhan Omar introduced a resolution to the U.S. Congress on Monday (October 25th) to award the state’s most famous musician one of the nation’s highest civilian honors.

According to The Associated Press, the resolution cited Prince’s “indelible mark on Minnesota and American culture.”

The prestigious honor was previously bestowed on such historical figures as first U.S. President George Washington, American aviation pioneers the Wright Brothers, Civil Rights icon Rosa Parks, Mother Teresa, and the Dalai Lama.

“Purple reigns in Minnesota today and every day because of him,” Klobuchar, a former 2020 U.S. presidential candidate, said in a statement about the music legend, who passed away in 2016 following an accidental overdose of fentanyl.

“The world is a whole lot cooler because Prince was in it – he touched our hearts, opened our minds, and made us want to dance. With this legislation, we honor his memory and contributions as a composer, performer, and music innovator.”

“Prince is a Minnesota icon,” said Omar in a statement. “He showed that it was OK to be a short, Black kid from Minneapolis and still change the world. He not only changed the arc of music history; he put Minneapolis on the map.”

The legislation notes that Prince is “widely regarded as one of the greatest musicians of his generation,” with seven Grammy Awards, six American Music Awards, an Oscar for the score to his 1984 film “Purple Rain” and a Golden Globe.

The “Little Red Corvette” superstar was inducted into the American Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, one of the many honors he received in his lifetime.

If the gold medal is approved and made, the bill requests it be given to the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., where it would likely be put on display to the public.

‘Let’s Go Brandon’ Clowning President Biden Skyrockets On The iTune Charts — Despite YouTube Ban

Who says that YouTube is the end all be all for new artists? At least not indie rapper Bryson Gray, whose song “Let’s Go Brandon” was banned from the video-sharing platform recently.

Now, the hit song is resting comfortably at the top of the iTunes Hip-Hop charts according to the artist.

If the song is so great why was it banned? That’s a great question.

“Let’s Go Brandon” was banned because it went against YouTube’s policy about spreading “medical misinformation.” In a Twitter post, the artist shared a screenshot of the message his channel received about the song.

He tweeted, “YouTube has banned the “Let’s Go Brandon” song from YouTube due to “medical information”. What medical misinformation is in the song? Whoa.”

https://twitter.com/RealBrysonGray/status/1451222328692592640?s=20

The document said that “YouTube doesn’t allow claims about COVID-19 vaccinations that contradict expert consensus from local health authorities or the World Health Organization (WHO).”

Well, does that song have bad information in it?

Not really.

The term “Let’s Go Brandon” is a term birthed out of the very anti-vaxxer, patriot Trumpian fueled NASCAR community.  At one event, the crowd was chanting “F### Joe Biden,”  however the commentator did not hear the slur to President Biden. He said that the crowd was rooting for the race winner, Brandon Bilt.

Many believe that it has gone viral because the song inadvertently became their anthem against President Biden.

“While social media pushed various untrue hoaxes involving Donald Trump – even after they clearly were untrue – but they immediately censored and shut down ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ even though it’s currently #1 on Apple Itunes!” one user wrote.

“Remember, ‘FDT’ (F### Donald Trump) by @YG was totally allowed on iTunes, YouTube, everywhere music is available. Millions of views — not a peep was said. But @RealBrysonGray‘s #1 TOP OF THE CHARTS “Let’s Go Brandon” is deplatformed, banned by @YouTube, etc. #TechCensorship,” another user fumed.

Despite the controversy, Bryson posted that when he woke up, he was beating out Drake, Kanye, NBA YoungBoy and others on iTunes.

He tweeted, “Good morning family! Still in Scottsdale, AZ. Performance was amazing. Our LGB song is still #1 in the US and #1 rap song in AUS and the UK on iTunes. Thank y’all so much. God is GOOD! No breakfast yet. How are y’all doing this AM?”

“#1 in United States on iTunes and #20 in Australia on iTunes! Seek first the kingdom of God!”

NBA YoungBoy Overcomes CA Gun Issues; Posts $500K Cash, Heading To Utah

Rapper NBA YoungBoy scored a huge win today (October 26th): he was cleared for house arrest!

NBA YoungBoy will be released from the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center within the next 24 hours.

He will head straight to his house in Utah, where former soldiers will guard him, to ensure his safety. YoungBoy must also abide by the strict rules Judge Shelly Dick has laid out.

He is only allowed to have three visitors at his Utah property at any given time, and Judge Dick must approve those people. And, the rapper’s guests have to leave his house by 9:00 p.m. and cannot return until 7:00 a.m.

The rapper, born Kentrell Gaulden, was also ordered to wire $500,000 to a trust account managed by his lawyers. The money was received earlier today (October 26th).

NBA YoungBoy’s string of legal problems started in September 2020. The rapper was one of 16 people arrested in Baton Rouge during a video shoot.

Investigators claimed those arrested are members of the violent gangs, Never Broke Again and Bottom Boy Gorilla. Numerous firearms were recovered.

NBA YoungBoy was not indicted on Federal gun charges until March of 2021. A grand jury decided there was enough evidence to charge him with possession of a firearm as a felon and for possession of a firearm that was not registered to his person in a national database.

On March 22nd, U.S. Marshals attempted to take him into custody in Los Angeles, but he fled and was eventually captured after a brief foot chase.

According to The Advocate, a .45 pistol and ammunition were recovered from the vehicle, leading to more weapons charges the rap star must face. He will be arraigned on those charges in November.

Until then, NBA YoungBoy will reside in Utah. He is planning on building a recording studio and getting back to making music.

Oxlade Explains How Drake Helped Him Get 3 Million Extra Streams

Nowadays more than ever, it seems the world has finally caught up to the height of what Afrobeats is and stands for.

Oxlade, who hails from Lagos and is here to spread that feel-good energy and positive vibrations from Africa to the rest of the world.

Serving as one of the new fresh faces in the pool of talented Nigerian recording artists, the singer, songwriter, and rapper has an unwavering love for music, and it bleeds through in each release.

In describing himself, Oxlades states, “I’m a Nigerian boy from Lagos. I’m an Afrobeats artist and I’ve been doing this music thing for 3 years professionally, but all my life because I started from the church. I didn’t know I could do music for the money, I was doing it for the love of it. When the time and opportunity came, I became Oxlade and the rest is history.”

Last year, Oxalde unleashed his global smash hit titled “Away,” which hails over 3.4 million views on Youtube alone.

The song will undoubtedly make you move and dance, even catching the attention of Drake who posted the record to his story. To keep on with the momentum, Oxlade most recently unleashed his newest single and visual for “Ojuju.”

AllHipHop: What does Afrobeats mean to you?

Oxlade: Afrobeats is beyond a genre for me, it’s a movement. It’s an identity, it’s part of being an African now. Everywhere you go to as an African, you put people on to new sounds. Our sounds are now crossing over, our songs are charting. More people need to know about it. It’s an identity and we’re trying to work more ethnic groups into it, to dig the Afrobeats sound.

AllHipHop: What was a young Oxlade like growing up in Lagos?

Oxlade: I grew up in the streets, so it was tougher than the normal, standard childhood. I lost my mom when I was 3, so I moved to my grandma’s. My grandma stays in the ghetto side of Lagos, it’s called Mushin. Anytime you come to Lagos and they take you to that side of Lagos, you gotta be careful because it’s the ghetto. Literally it was tough. I used to sell stuff for my grandma: water, soft drinks, and other stuff to survive. She raised me through primary and secondary school. When I was done with my secondary school, she sent me to my pops. It was survival, literally. Moving in with my pops, I started my university. I dropped out of my finals due to some reasons that got really complicated, then I decided to face music. Even since then, I’ve been doing music and the rest is history.

AllHipHop: Who were you listening to?

Oxlade: A lot of Afrobeats legends. A lot of Lauryn Hill, Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, Chronixx, then we have the Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido. My biggest influence and the person that inspired me to go to the studio is named Wande Coal He’s a Nigerian artist I want you guys to check out. He’s a veteran, he’s been doing it for years. He inspired me and a lot of Nigerian kids to go through this type of music I be doing. I sing and my kind of music is from the soul, he’s one of the legends that paved the way for us with the R&B singing/Afrobeats artist.

AllHipHop: What do you hope to achieve in the United States?

Oxlade: Greatness man, there’s nothing stopping my music from crossing over. There’s nothing too big as a megahit song or a #1 hit record on the Billboard charts that’s an Afrobeat song. It’s not impossible anymore. You see some Afrobeat songs crossing over and doing the most. Anytime I go to any restaurant, studio, or anywhere I go, I hear Afrobeat songs and I feel proud to be Nigerian. I feel proud to come from where that sound comes from. That’s what I wish for, that’s what I’m working towards. I’m trying to collaborate and connect with people, connect with creatives. Make more music, bring different genres together with mine to create new world sounds.

AllHipHop: How did it feel to have Drake post “Away”?

Oxlade: It felt special. [laughs] He screenshotted the song on Apple Music and he posted it on his story. Ever since then, it’s been really crazy for me.

AllHipHop: How many followers did you get from that?

Oxlade: I had 3 million streams the next day. [laughs] Extra, that’s the Drake effect man. Everybody needs the Drake effect.

AllHipHop: Have you talked to him?

Oxlade: I obviously hit him up, I thanked him and everything. Hopefully, we got something. Hopefully, I’m optimistic.

AllHipHop: Did you make a record specifically for him?

Oxlade: Obviously, it’s a couple of songs that he’s got.

AllHipHop: How does it feel to get a million views in one week on “Ojuju”?

Oxlade: If the song’s good, you’re going to get those types of numbers. It felt great and now it’s at 1.5 million so you understand how organic it is. It keeps going crazy. I just dropped the “Pay Me” visualizer. “Pay Me” is one of the songs on the project where “Ojuju” is. The name of the project is Eclipse, it’s doing amazingly well. You can check it out, it’s a 4 track project. It’s Troniq featuring myself, Troniq is my management. We’re joining together to create a project. It has “Ojuju,” “More,” “Pay Me” and “Incomplete.” You can check it out on all platforms too.

AllHipHop: How was it collaborating with Fireboy DML on “Sing”?

Oxlade: Fireboy is my homie, we started making music together. “Sing” was one of those songs we had to put out. I’ve known him for 5 years now and we found ourselves around the same circle. You see Fireboy, Joeboy, lots of Afrobeat artists we started together. It’s a circle, a movement.

AllHipHop: Anything else you want to let the people know?

Oxlade: Stream Eclipse, and I got more music coming out. They can follow me on all platforms: @oxladeofficial.

EXCLUSIVE: Nicki Minaj’s Husband Kenneth Lawyers Up But Perjury Accusation Could Derail Sentencing In January

Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth “Zoo” Petty, has finally lawyered up in a $20 million legal battle with the woman he is accused of sexually assaulting.

Earlier this month, the couple was slapped with a massive $20 million default judgment after failing to reply to a lawsuit filed by Jennifer Hough.

Nicki ultimately lawyered up and hired an attorney named Judd Burstein, who successfully had the default judgment set aside – for now.

Earlier this week, Kenneth Petty hired the law offices of Stephen D. Isser to defend him against Hough’s allegations.

Kenneth Petty Lawyers Up

Hough claims Nicki and Kenneth have been terrorizing her for years. She insists they have been trying to bribe her into recanting the rape allegations Petty was convicted of in 1995.

Hough maintains that the couple offered up as much as $500,000 to recant the allegations so that Kenneth could get his name off the National Sexual Offender Registry list.

When the proposition of cash failed, the couple supposedly turned to threats in hopes of bullying Hough into recanting her claim.

Kenneth’s lawyer is asking Judge Eric Vitaliano to vacate the certificate of default entered against his client, in addition to some extra time to respond to Hough’s complaint.

AllHipHop.com broke the news: Nicki claimed a miscommunication between her management team and her recently hired lawyer caused the delay in replying to Hough’s complaint.

Nicki Minaj also told Judge Vitaliano that a process server never formally served her and her husband with the lawsuit – a claim that could come back to haunt both of them if it is proven to be untrue.

Kenneth Petty is facing prison time for failing to register as a sex offender in California after moving to the state to be with Nicki.

He pleaded guilty to failing to register as a sex offender, and he will learn his fate in January of 2022 when he is sentenced.

According to emails obtained by AllHipHop.com, Jennifer Hough’s lawyer is disputing the claim that the couple was not served and accused them of lying to Judge Vitaliano.

In a series of nasty emails sent between the lawyers, Hough’s attorney Steven Gordon threatened to accuse the couple of perjury, which could impact Kenneth’s sentencing on January 24th, 2022.

Gordon is asking Judge Vitaliano for a Traverse Hearing where Judge Vitaliano would determine whether or not Nicki and her husband were served correctly.

“The proof of service was submitted for both Mr. Petty and your client, in which the process server swore under penalty of perjury that he served Mr. Petty,” Gordon wrote to Nicki’s lawyer Judd Burstein.

Gordon took issue with Burstein and Nicki Minaj’s claims that they were not home when the lawsuit was served, while Hough’s lawyers maintain that Kenneth Petty was the man served with the lawsuit.

“We will also call our process server to the stand and submit additional documentary evidence that service was proper…we will also immediately advise the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of your client’s and Mr. Petty’s perjury. I’m sure that will assist him during his January 2022 sentencing hearing for failing to register as a sex offender,” Steven Gordon threatened.

Judge Vitaliano has yet to rule on any of the motions.

However, today (October 26th), Judge Vitaliano set forth a schedule, and all parties must submit their formal replies on or before November 22nd, 2021.

Chance The Rapper Drops $2.3 Mil On New Crib

Chicago native Chance the Rapper has purchased a home for him and his ever-expanding family.  The 28-year-old has just copped a beautiful mansion in the north suburban neighborhood Bannockburn for $2.3 million.

His wife, Kirsten, and his two daughters Kensli and Marlie Grace will be moving into their new home, bringing some swag to the conservative area.

The house is perfect for them. It is five bedrooms and covers over 9,251-square-foot.

While you might be in awe of his new place, it is 1/3 less than what he paid for his previous home. He paid $3.7 million in 2018 for a condo that had only three bedrooms and was 4,500-square-foot.

The house was built in 1996 and sits on 3.71 acres. Reports list other amenities that the home has, stating that it has “6½ bathrooms, six fireplaces, a great room with authentic Iowa barn beams and a kitchen that has a large center island, a marble baker’s counter, granite countertops, a Thermador range, two Thermador ovens, a Sub-Zero refrigerator, two sinks, and two Miele dishwashers.”

The coolest thing is how he found out about the new place. His mom put him on to it.

According to the Chicago Tribune Lisa Thompson-Bennett, the “Family Matters” artist’s mother, presented the deal in her capacity as a real estate agent. She works for Crown Heights Realty. She actually did the deal for his last residence.

Promoter Cancels Rakim, KRS-1, And Slick Rick Concert Because Hip Hoppers Don’t Get Vaccinated

One of the upcoming dates for the “Move the Crowd” tour featuring Rakim, KRS-1, and Slick Rick has recently been canceled by the promoter. After receiving pushback from the fans, he revealed that he shut the show down because the venue requires people to be vaccinated to enter.

According to Metro Times, he contends that the Hip-Hop “demographic aren’t vaccinated.”

Detroit’s Masonic Temple, the venue where the show was supposed to happen at, has a strict vaccination mandate enacted to help curb the spread of the deadly coronavirus, a disease that paralyzed the entire world in 2020.

AEG Presents, the company that runs the venue, posted its new vaccination policy over the summer. Without discrimination, the venue has to require proof of vaccination for guests, staff, and talent.  The century-old venue is beautiful.

Jay Marciano, the COO of AEG and chairman and CEO of AEG Presents says, “We have come to the conclusion that, as a market leader, it was up to us to take a real stand on vaccination status.”

The concert promoter Derrick Kearney of 2D Productions & Entertainment says that despite the Nov. 7th date being pushed back, he is working to find a different location to accommodate the large number of fans that want to see these kings of rap music, but don’t want to get stuck with the needle.

“We’ve received 100’s and 100’s of texts, voicemail’s and comments on social media about the Masonic temple’s vaccination mandate,” Kearney said in a statement. “We have also found out that the majority of concert-goers in that HipHop (sic) demographic aren’t vaccinated. So the vaccination mandate with the Masonic Temple is the reason.”

Russell Wilson Pens Birthday Letter To ‘Perfect’ Wife Ciara — Future Stans Rage Out

You can count on Future stans to do two things: act like toxic a**holes, and rage out whenever Ciara makes the news for getting loved on properly.

And on the “Level Up” singer’s birthday, things are of course no different.

The New York Post published a letter written by Russell Wilson, whom Ciara married after she rightly kicked Future to the curb when he cheated on her.

Needless to say, the Seattle Seahawks quarterback couldn’t stop gushing about his blushing bride.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Russell Wilson (@dangerusswilson)

“Perfect in every way. God made you for me,” he wrote to Ciara. “He made you to fit perfectly in my arms. Made you to be the amazing woman and mother you are. God made you to entertain the world with your gift to sing & dance! He gifted you with the ability to Tilt the room.. when you walk in ALL the furniture slides towards you. He gifted you with the ability to smile and bring joy to ALL things! Gifted you with the ability to LOVE. Happy Birthday my Queen @Ciara Heaven sent!”

Ciara, in response, wrote that her husband was her “everything” and that she was a better woman because of him.

And while there was no shortage of fans who gushed over Wilson’s sweet words to his wife, there were also — as per usual — Future stans who littered the comment section with proof that their fathers didn’t love them, that they resent their mothers for not tolerating the nonsense, and that Ciara should have just tolerated Future’s cheating (and subsequent impregnation of several women) because he wrote “Mask Off.”

Son, I guess.

French Montana Self-Owns Over A ‘Squid Game’ Joke

French Montana decided to self-own over a Squid Game joke.

For those who are unaware, Squid Game is a popular Netflix show that originated in South Korea, where players who are deep in debt sign up to participate in child-like games with the hopes that winning them would get them out of said debt.

And so, a popular meme on the Internet is to offer “players” a challenge with the premise being that the challenge was insurmountable, thus eliminating them from the “Squid Game.

So, a random tweeter challenged their followers to name five French Montana songs that don’t have a feature on them.

https://twitter.com/sticktalkz/status/1452678695815053313?s=20

This obviously got Khloe Kardashian’s ex-boyfriend in his feelings, especially as people began making jokes at his expense.

https://twitter.com/prodoughmoney1/status/1453004311496118297?s=20

And so, without a second thought, French Montana immediately jumped into the tweeter’s replies to rattle off the list of his songs that, he claimed, had no other features on them.

The funniest part of all is, “Shot Caller” actually had a feature on it (from Charlie Rock).

Needless to say, it took almost no time at all for the Internet to continue to light up poor French Montana, who really should have sat this one out.

Next time, take the joke, French.

300 Entertainment CEO Kevin Liles Comments On Young Thug’s Chart Success

Young Thug is currently riding high off the commercial triumph of his latest studio LP. Punk debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart, and five tracks off the album made it onto the Hot 100 songs chart.

The Atlanta-raised rap star’s chart success made the executives at his record label very happy. Kevin Liles, CEO of 300 Entertainment, released a statement about Young Thug and Punk.

“Artist development and evolution are the biggest forms of currency in the sustainability and relevancy of an artist in the entertainment industry. Young Thug’s undeniable dedication, vision, and relentless work ethic are unmatched and show how much he has doubled down on his artistry,” stated Kevin Liles.

The music industry veteran added, “I’m proud of Young Thug for not only checking the boxes, but creating his own space outside of the box. Though we have been by Young Thug’s side for eight years, his two number one albums in one year is only the beginning of his story.”

Punk became Young Thug’s second Billboard 200 #1 album of 2021. He also topped the weekly tally in April with YSL’s Slime Language 2 compilation. Pop-Country superstar Taylor Swift is the only other act to score two Number Ones this year.

Young Thug tapped Strick, J. Cole, T-Shyne, Gunna, Future, BSlime, Post Malone, A$AP Rocky, Lil Double 0, Drake, Travis Scott, Doja Cat, Nate Ruess, and Jeff Bhasker for Punk. Deceased performers Juice WRLD and Mac Miller are featured on the album as well.

300 Entertainment is also the label home of Megan Thee Stallion, Gunna, Fetty Wap, Lil Keed, Shy Glizzy, Tee Grizzley, Famous Dex, OMB Peezy, and other acts. Kevin Liles, Lyor Cohen, Roger Gold, and Todd Moscowitz founded the record company in 2012.

Megan Thee Stallion Set To Graduate From College

Ever since Megan “Thee Stallion” Pete arrived on the mainstream music scene in 2019, she incorporated being a college student into her artistic brand. That student-life branding will be coming to an end soon because Pete is close to finalizing her pursuit of higher education.

Yesterday (October 25), Megan Thee Stallion took to Instagram to inform her 25.9 million followers about her upcoming graduation. The 26-year-old rapper evidently finished her online courses for Texas Southern University.

“2021 finna graduate collegeeee 😛 taking my graduation pics today 😭I can’t wait for y’all to see,” posted Megan Thee Stallion on her Instagram page.

The Good News album creator is seeking a degree in healthcare administration. Megan Thee Stallion often spoke about wanting to open a healthcare facility after completing her studies.

Meanwhile, Megan continues to be one of the most prosperous Hip Hop acts at the moment. Her “Thot S###” single peaked at #16 on the Hot 100 chart in June. The track has remained in the rankings for 19 weeks.

The Houston native also found Top 20 chart success in 2021 as a feature on Ariana Grande’s “34+35 (Remix)” and Maroon 5’s “Beautiful Mistakes.” Last year, Megan scored two #1 songs with “Savage (Remix)” featuring Beyoncé and “WAP” with Cardi B.

Hit-Boy Suggests Artists Wanting To Work With Him Speak To Kendrick Lamar

Chauncey “Hit-Boy” Hollis Jr. is arguably the top Hip Hop producer at the moment. The California-raised musician recently won his second Producer Of The Year honor at the 2021 BET Hip Hop Awards.

BET rewarded Hit-Boy for his stellar work with Nas (King’s Disease), Big Sean (Detroit 2), and other high-profile acts. Not surprisingly, a lot of artists are apparently looking to get in the studio with the three-time Grammy winner.

“Don’t request to work [with] me if you looking for something inside the box that sounds like whatever is going on chart-wise,” wrote Hit-Boy on Instagram. “Work [with] me when you wanna be creative. I be sampling Powerpuff Girls [and] s### 😭 ask @kendricklamar.”

Kodak Black Given Permission To Perform At Rolling Loud Despite Testing Positive For Ecstasy

Kodak Black has been in limbo, awaiting a decision from the court as to whether he can travel to New York to perform at Rolling Loud.

The wait is over as the judge has given him the green light to attend the festival this weekend.

Kodak was placed on probation for 36 months following his release from prison in January. His lawyer applied applied to court recently asking a judge to allow him to attend the music festival for work.

“Kodak has previously been allowed to travel the United States for work purposes and has had no incidents of violation or positive urine tests upon his return and continuously upon his leave for an event and upon return,” his attorney, Bradford Cohen wrote.

According to TMZ, the judge has agreed to his request. Kodak Black has permission to travel to the festival but must stay in contact with his Supervised Release Officer. The Florida native will perform at the festival at Citi Field in Queens, New York on Friday.

It was previously reported that Kodak Black failed two drug tests, violating the terms of his supervised release. TMZ reports seeing the court documents that show this. He tested positive for marijuana in February and then MDMA in August.

Kodak was ordered to complete a 90-day treatment program. However, the judge allowed him to attend the festival where drug use is likely, indicating that they are not concerned with the issue.

Kodak has recently gone viral after attempting to explain why he was grabbing his mother’s butt while dancing with her.
