(AllHipHop Rumors) A pair of Hip-Hop titans are going at it with such viciousness, it was nice. This is where is STARTED for me:
They trade “niceties,” but they are really going hard at each other! Who won?
Well, let’s go back a bit farther…to where it all began.
Joe Budden is now a podcaster and critic now that gets paid quite a lot to talk about people and things. He did what he does and talked about the new album by Jay Electronica, A Written Testimony. “It is a mistake (to put Jay-Z on the album so much). Granted, this is hate, but it’s rapper hate because, when y’all move the goalpost, as a rapper, I see it. For the last decade, y’all have mentioned Jay Elec with Hov. And Jay Elec positions himself that way on arguably one of the greatest tracks ever on ‘Exhibit C.’ That is God level rhyming.
It was radio silence from Jay Electronica until a fan said something on Twitter. Jay-E responded to the tweet, addressing Rory (for some reason), but not Joe. Joe jumped in!
Well, Joe took that as disrespect and then that is where the jab came in. On Twitter, Electronica said, “I never heard your albums bro. may Allah bless your career as a journalist. .” And then Joe claps back, “I took you off yours & it’s a Hov mixtape now… Peace be unto you as well King.”
I took you off yours & it’s a Hov mixtape now… Peace be unto you as well King. https://t.co/6KMlXKNqpP
During the dispute, Hitmaka allegedly pistol-whipped the woman multiple times resulting in contusions, lacerations and a broken nose.
The woman filed a police report with the LAPD, who is currently investigating the producer.
However, there are two sides to the story and Hitmaka issued his through his attorneys today (March 17th.)
According to Hitmaka, there was no domestic dispute, but rather a “planned and coordinated home invasion robbery and assault.”
The woman, named Talia Tilley, allegedly came to hit makers house around 3:40 in the morning.
According to Hitmaka, Talia Tilley is not his girlfriend, although they were acquaintances as she had been to his house in the past.
Hitmaka grew suspicious when Tilley allegedly asked him to get in the hot tub is a wee hours of the morning, just before the assault.
As they were sharing an intimate moment in the backyard, three men made a calculated, unprovoked attack against Hitmaka, slapping and punching him repeatedly.
Hitmaka says he has Ring video of the three men, two who attacked him, and another suspect who acted as a lookout.
Hitmaka says he desperately fought the men, was eventually able to lock his back door and get inside of the house as the assailants allegedly tried to kick in his front door, unsuccessfully.
According to Hitmaka’s statement, he went through Talia Tilley’s phone and found that she had been in communication with at least one of the alleged assailants.
“Mr. Ward has provided this information and material, including videos and phone records, to the Los Angeles Police Department in the hopes that the perpetrators may be captured and brought to justice,” according to his lawyer Shepard Kopp.
His first artist is a kid name Foogiano, and already he has a hit song with Lil Baby blowing up across social media. Seems like the La Flare might be on to the next guy.
And if anyone knows how to find “the next guy” it would be Gucci Mane.
In addition to 13 studio albums, Gucci has offered mentorship to the likes of 21 Savage, Rich Homie Quan, half of the QC roster and so many more, leading him to be labeled “the most influential underground rapper of the past decade.”
One may ask, how has he kept that influence?
Perhaps his work ethic is a beacon of light to those pushing to get to where he is. Gucci released three albums: Delusions of Grandeur Woptober II and East Atlanta Santa 3, all in 2019.
Oh… you still reading? Then you probably aren’t who he is looking for. The next 1017 star is already DMing him on some real hustle s##t.
(AllHipHop News) Lizzo has signed up to help her “Truth Hurts” producer, Ricky Reed, keep music fans and stars safe amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Reed is encouraging the world’s biggest names to “Press Pause” on publishing company and record label meetings and lunches and use their lockdown time to stage virtual songwriting sessions.
Shawn Mendes, Billie Eilish’s producer brother Finneas, Meghan Trainor, and Bebe Rexha have also joined the campaign.
“Most of us had to fight (and are still fighting) tooth and nail for every inch of our careers,” Reed writes in an open letter. “When I moved to L.A., I had to bike and bus to all my sessions. This is the only business that rewards us for staying out late, partying, throwing caution to the wind.
“We have grown accustomed to endangering our bodies running down a dream. But it’s time to stop… Be an Introvert, Save the World!”
“We might be in good health, young, unbothered,” Reed adds. “But this virus is not sparing our parents and grandparents. It is not sparing our immunocompromised brothers and sisters. It is not sparing kids with asthma. And an overwhelmed health care system won’t have space for anyone sick for any reason (that includes YOU!) if we don’t act now. The sooner we take bold action (extreme social distancing) the sooner we can get back to our lives.”
The stars signing the letter have agreed to host songwriting sessions on FaceTime or Skype.
“I’m going to plan a scheduled Instagram Live session and take feedback on a new track in real time,” Reed writes. “A lot of musicians are new to Twitch, which not only provides a great platform for live streaming your work for collaboration but can generate some income while you’re at it.”
Reed’s letter has already received support from the heads of Sony/ATV, Warner Chappell, Universal Music Publishing Group, Columbia, and Atlantic, among others.
(AllHipHop News) R. Kelly has had no contact with his legal team since last week as the coronavirus lockdown meant they were blocked from entering the Chicago prison where he’s being held by corrections personnel.
His charges include engaging in sex acts with other minors, threatening his alleged victims, and aggravated sexual abuse.
According to TMZ, the singer is being kept away from his legal team, who tried to visit their client last Thursday at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago, but were turned away due to the Covid-19 lockdown.
His legal team reportedly wanted to check on the star’s well-being and also discuss legal strategy, however, a representative for the Bureau of Prisons in Illinois has suspended for the next 30 days.
But, they hinted they will allow certain legal meet-ups on a case-by-case basis.
The rep added these decisions are being made in a bid to avoid unnecessarily exposing inmates and others to the virus, which has been declared a national emergency by U.S. President Donald Trump.
The “I Believe I Can Fly” hitmaker is also facing criminal counts on racketeering, sexual abuse, and bribery in Brooklyn, New York, with his trial scheduled to go ahead in July.
In addition, Kelly is facing similar sex abuse allegations in Minnesota. He has denied all charges filed against him.
(AllHipHop News) Keri Hilson sparked backlash on Monday by suggesting that 5G may be responsible for the coronavirus pandemic.
Now her management has forced her to take down the tweet after a harsh backlash from fans, media and various “experts.”
Management has asked me to delete vid/articles. 🤷🏾♀️ I appreciate good discourse on unconventional thinking. Let’s all just be safe out there, cuz whatever the cause the virus a real thing. May God be with us…prayers to alllllll 🙏🏾
The 37-year-old singer took to Twitter to share her theory, telling her 4.2 million followers: “People have been trying to warn us about 5G for YEARS. Petitions, organizations, studies…what we’re going thru is the affects of radiation. 5G launched in CHINA. Nov 1, 2019. People dropped dead. See attached & go to my IG stories for more. TURN OFF 5G by disabling LTE!!!”
She then shared a video about the theory, and wrote: “I watched the below vid on @chakabars IG this am—WATCH IT! I also hv a friend who’s been showing me youtubes over the past year on the physical/human affects of 4 & 5G. Researched for myself today re: COVID19…connections were quite peculiar. And after all I’ve read, believable.
“And to be clear, I’m saying there have been lots of studies & experiments that point to the possibility that the dangerous levels of electromagnetic radiation (5G) could be CAUSING the contagious virus.”
Keri continued to state that the theory would explain why there aren’t many cases of the Covid-19 virus in Africa, which is “not a 5G region.”
Following Keri’s tweets, her followers responded in their thousands – with many slamming the “Knock You Down” singer for her musings.
“Is Keri Hilson hacked, or is Keri Hilson really on here saying 5G wireless caused the corona pandemic?” one wrote, before another added: “Keri Hilson girl be quiet before I get Beyonce.”
(AllHipHop News) Nothing seems to be slowing down the chart success of “The Box.” Roddy Ricch’s breakout solo single is once again the #1 song in America by topping the Hot 100 for another week.
The Grammy winner’s Please Excuse Me for Being Antisocial track spent its 10th consecutive week in the pole position. “The Box” becomes the 39th song in the chart’s history to hold the #1 spot for at least 10 weeks.
Just 3% of all Hot 100 Number Ones have led the Billboard tally for 10 weeks or more. If “The Box” can stay at #1 at least one more time, the song will join only 25 other tunes that capped the Hot 100 for a minimum of 11 weeks.
Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus holds the all-time record (19 weeks). Wiz Khalifa (“See You Again” – 12 weeks), Eminem (“Lose Yourself”- 12), Drake (“God’s Plan” – 11, “In My Feelings” – 10, “One Dance” – 10), Puff Daddy (“I’ll Be Missing You” – 11), and Kanye West (“Gold Digger” – 10) are the only other lead rap acts to make the list of 10-week charting entries.
(AllHipHop News) Nicki Minaj’s husband has been granted permission to use the Internet while he awaits trial for failing to register as a sex offender in California.
(AllHipHop News) The 2020 Record Store Day will not take place on Saturday, April 18 as planned. As a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the annual worldwide event is being moved to Saturday, June 20.
Organizers of RSD released the following statement:
In our discussions over the past few weeks, information came and changed daily, and then hourly, along with the news cycle. We’ve taken all of that information to heart as we’ve gone over the various options that involved staying the course, moving the date, even changing the structure of the event. At the risk of stating the obvious, no one knows what things will look like in any given place over the next five weeks, but it is imperative that hard decisions for that time period need to be made right now, using current facts. There is no perfect solution. There is no easy answer. So, we’ve decided that, this year, our best possible move is to change the date of Record Store Day to Saturday, June 20. We think that this takes into consideration the recommendations of the many doctors and scientists lending their expertise to help in the Coronavirus pandemic, as well as the many other individuals at the World Health Organization (WHO), Center for Disease Control (CDC) and other agencies tasked with the difficult job of getting us through this crisis. RSD acknowledges the need to be good citizens of both the local and worldwide communities while still giving our participating stores around the world the best chance to have a profitable, successful Record Store Day. We’re working with all of our partners and our stores to make this change as smooth as possible for everyone who participates in Record Store Day, including the customers, the record stores, the artists, labels and more. Record Store Day happens everywhere, every year, and we want to hold our party when everyone can gather around safely to celebrate life, art, music and the culture of the indie record store.
Big L’s Danger Zone, Chief Keef’s Back From The Dead 2, Curren$y’s Pilot Talk, The Game’s Born 2 Rap, Freddie Gibbs & Madlib’s Piñata: The 1974 Version, Lil Kim’s 9, Murs & 9th Wonder’s Brighter Daze, Nas’s God’s Son, The Notorious B.I.G.’s It Was All A Dream: The Notorious B.I.G. 1994-1999, Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s Return To The 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version (25th Anniversary Edition), Skyzoo + Pete Rock’s Retropolitan (Instrumentals), Tyler, The Creator’s Cherry Bomb, and Wale’s Wow…That’s Crazy are among the projects that will be available on Record Store Day.
(AllHipHop News) Lil Uzi Vert is having an amazing week when it comes to commercial success. Besides owning the #1 album in the country with Eternal Atake, the Roc Nation representative has three of the most popular songs in America.
The Eternal Atake tracks “Baby Pluto” (#6), “Lo Mein” (#8), and “Silly Watch” (#9) each opened in the Top 10 of the Hot 100 chart. Uzi joined Drake, Lil Wayne, and J. Cole as the only acts in history to have three records debut in that region at one time.
All 18 songs from Uzi’s sophomore LP made it onto the Hot 100. Plus, the 25-year-old Philadelphian charted a total of 20 songs on this week’s rankings. He became only the third act, behind Drake and Lil Wayne, to land that many songs on the chart simultaneously.
Eternal Atake pulled in 400 million weekly streams. Lil Uzi Vert is now in fourth place on the all-time one-week streaming list. Drake’s Scorpion (746M), Wayne’s Tha Carter V (433M), Post Malone’s beerbongs & bentleys (431M) and Drake’s More Life (385M) make up the rest of the Top 5.
(AllHipHop News) The coronavirus pandemic has many people worried about what will happen in the coming months. United States President Donald Trump even admitted the social upheaval caused by the outbreak could last until at least August.
With so many conspiracy theories spreading about the virus, it is expected that elected officials will be accurate about all of the information they share with their constituents. Unfortunately, Senator Marco Rubio pushed the “tweet” button before double-checking what he wrote.
“Please stop spreading stupid rumors about marshall law. COMPLETELY FALSE. We will continue to see closings & restrictions on hours of non-essential businesses in certain cities & states. But that is NOT marshall law,” tweeted Rubio on Monday morning.
The Florida politician had to return to the social network in order to acknowledge he used the wrong word in his first statement. He later tweeted, “I apologize for the typo. I meant to type stupid rumors about marital law not marshall law My bad.” He still misspelled “martial” in the correction tweet.
I apologize for the typo.
I meant to type stupid rumors about marital law not marshall law
Rubio’s blunders were met with a torrent of negative feedback. The reactions ranged from the former presidential candidate being called a “m####” to suggestions that he returns to grade school to users posting memes of Tekken character Marshall Law.
A real-life famous person named Marshall even piled on the 48-year-old Republican. Marshall “Eminem” Mathers quote-tweeted Rubio’s apology and added, “Sorry guys… Marshall Law: not a thing.”
Em was also responding to some of his fans who believed rumors that the Detroit emcee was planning to drop a new project titled Marshall Law. The Shady Records head just released the Music to Be Murdered By album in January which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
While Eminem has made it clear he is not a supporter of Donald Trump or his Republican-backed policies, Rubio admitted being part of the Slim Shady fandom. He told GQ in 2012 that Marshall’s “Lose Yourself” was one of his favorite rap songs. The Senator also stated, “The only guy that speaks at any sort of depth is, in my mind, Eminem.”

(AllHipHop News) Cardi B has not released a solo single since “Press” arrived in May of 2019. However, the Bronx rapper’s voice is currently featured on one of the most viral songs on the planet at the moment.
Brandon “iMarkkeyz” Davidson sampled Cardi’s coronavirus rant from Instagram for an original track. After becoming a popular meme online, “Coronavirus” is now available for streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, and YouTube.
iMarkkeyz’s “Coronavirus” can also be purchased on iTunes. In fact, it quickly rose up the iTunes charts over the last several hours. As of press time, the record has hit #35 on the All Genres chart and #5 on the Hip-Hop/Rap chart.

Fat Meech proves you don’t have to be from Atlanta to be able to hold a melody in hip-hop. The South Central Los Angeles native has been through a lot, especially coming up in neighborhoods filled with gangs, crime, violence, you name it. But luckily, music would be his saving grace.
The “Brothers” rapper lists Mac Dre and E-40 as his biggest influences, two of the biggest spitters to come out of the Bay Area. Now, he plans to create his own legacy by creating heartfelt rap records for his growing fanbase.
AllHipHop: When did music come into the picture?
Fat Meech: I’ve been addicted to sound my whole life. I grew up singing in church but taking music serious, only 3 years ago. I rapped to pass the time. I was bored, built a studio in the house, and played with it. We put stuff out, it started going crazy.
AllHipHop: Talk about recording “Damn” after Kendrick’s DAMN.
Fat Meech: The cover itself was inspired by it, but the song itself is totally different. I thought of the cover because of the name of the song. Kendrick’s a legendary person in LA, in Compton. If I use this, people will see it and ask “what the hell is this?” Be drawn to it. That album was dope, it’s legendary.
It’s a whole storyline behind that song. I was around 12 when my cousin got shot. I’m in the house with my sister, we’re in the living room and I hear firecrackers going off. Who the hell got firecrackers? It’s nowhere near 4th of July. I’m like “what’s going on?” We look outside, this cat’s skating doing 100 down the street. He’s still bussin’, but the car was full of people. Each person in the car had a strap, about 4, 5 shooters in the car. My cousin ended up getting hit in the back of the head and in his shoulder. He survived. He be chillin’ still, like nothing’s wrong with him.
He’s locked up right now but when he gets out, he’s going crazy with the interviews. All the stories I tell really happened to me, my family, people around me. That s##t be wild. He’s regular though. He smokes weed, does his thing. Everybody asks me if there’s anything wrong with him now, I’m like nah. What they think happened is it hit something, slowed down the trajectory. When it hit him, it went up. It didn’t go in. If it’d went in one more centimeter, he would’ve been paralyzed. They literally had to pull it out the top of his skull and that was it. He was messed up, but he still knows everything. His scar is very small, you couldn’t even tell.
AllHipHop: How does music act as a coping mechanism for you?
Fat Meech: That’s all it is: a coping mechanism. Honestly to be able to tell stories, and heal from telling stories. I’ll tell a story about something I went through, it’ll help me cope with the trauma. That’s the only way to let it out. Telling stories help you cope with trauma.
AllHipHop: What’s a normal day in the life? Walk us through.
Fat Meech: Whew, hustling. That’s my thing. No matter what it is. If it ain’t tied down, I’ma sell it. On the real, that’s my thing.
AllHipHop: What does hustling consist of?
Fat Meech: I’ve been hustling since a long time, at a young age. I started selling weed at a young age. Literally, I was 12, 13 years old.
AllHipHop: You weren’t even smoking then were you?
Fat Meech: I started smoking at 13, so around the same time. I’d have to go to my mom: “let me hold a dub.” She’s like “I’m not trying to give you all this money.” I’m not trying to keep stressing you out, trying to ask for your stuff, so I’ma get my own. I’m not the asking type, I go get it. I’ve been hustling for a long time. Years. Still to this day, hustling.
AllHipHop: How does that translate to the music? Especially being an independent artist.
Fat Meech: Marketing. Oh my god, people like to put music out and think that everybody’s going to listen to them. That’s not how it works now. Literally, you got to put it out and push it to everybody. The same way I do hustling, I do with my music. If I can get this one person, hopefully they’ll tell 3 people. Double back, listen to more stuff. Marketing. I don’t think I’m a better musician than people, I’m better at marketing. How I hit schools and go crazy with the kids, do all the stuff that nobody wants to do, that’s what helps me. Hustling made me prepare for the marketing aspect of music. Getting the word out, that’s it.
AllHipHop: What’s the best encounter you had with a fan?
Fat Meech: One time we’re at a school in San Pedro, right by the water. There was a little kid crying. Some other artists were with me, they’re even like “yeah, they were serious.” We came to the school and one of the parents checked their kid out of school 30 or 40 mins early. We’re like “why you check out the kids early?” They said “we want to get our pictures first.” You checked your kids out just to get pictures with us? This is crazy. Those moments are wow to me, and they’re dead serious. We made sure we got them shirts, took pictures. They checked them out early because they knew how hectic it was going to get. Once the kids came out, it was over with. [claps hands] 200 kids outside.
(AllHipHop Music) Hailing from the Beltzhoover district in Pittsburgh, PA but now residing in Los Angeles, J-Haze continues his come up in the game with the release of this new banging track “Sorry Mama.” Produced by Maserati Sparks and featuring South Carolina artist Just Rich Gates, “Sorry Mama” is a street life tale with an apology to the mothers who have to endure their children growing up and living against the values they were taught. The new album will also feature the members of Griselda whom J-Haze also has a special friendship with.
The rapper showed up in Manhattan family court wearing a full hazmat suit “to make sure I’m not exposed and I don’t expose anyone,” Pras told reporters. “Let me step back…”
Coronavirus fears led Fugees’ @PrasMichel to don what the judge deemed “full hazmat gear” in NY court: “To make sure I’m not exposed and I don’t expose anyone,” Michel said. “Let me step back…” @Law360 (he’s there for child support, but DOJ claims he aided a wild 1MDB scheme) pic.twitter.com/vuqL771o2w
Pras is accused of owing his ex Angela Severiano over $125,000 for their nine-year-old son, Landon.
He claims he cannot pay because the Feds froze $74 million in his bank accounts, after claiming the money came from a fugitive financier named Jho Low, who is accused of stealing $4.4 billion from an investment fund in Malaysia.
(AllHipHop News) Yet again, T.I. presents himself as the rap music’s voice of reason during times of uncertainty and despair.
No… really… forget about that time he said that thing about his wife and the champ and the other time he was joking about his daughter.
For the most part, his voice is steady with a level of digestible wisdom that makes fans feel safe.
This time, it is his saged offering around how we all should respond to the coronavirus pandemic. He took to social media and dropped these jewels:
“Don’t let the mass hysteria of the world (everybody else) make you forget how good God has been to ALL OF US,” T.I. philosophized. “Those of you who feel you can be a person of faith & not have your faith be tested…you’re mistaken,” Harris wrote in the caption.
He added that “PRAYER SHOULD REPLACE YOUR WORRIES” and urged followers to “Take it light.”
Earlier, T.I. applauded Christian rapper Lecrae who offered the community a COVID-19 Data pack. And even in this gesture, he pushed for mental peace in places of communal chaos.
On Instagram he wrote after reposting Lecrae, “Thanks @lecrae Knowledge is POWER & information is EVERYTHING!!! To live in fear is to not live at all!!! Don’t panic. Inform yourself. More information soon to come.”
Indeed the hysteria might even put a monkey wrench in his plans.
According to Atlanta Journal-Constitution, T.I. and Killer Mike were working on reopening a restaurant called Bankhead Seafood.
The plans were extensive as they sought to add a rooftop, expand the parking and allow a 130-seat dining experience. It was their hope to open early 2021, but that, like so many other plans, might be placed on pause.
They also planned to launch a scholarship with the HBCU Foundation to be given each year to a grad from their alma mater, Fredrick Douglass High, going to a historically Black college or University.
The scholarship would be a full ride, regardless of whichever HBCU that they have been accepted to.
