DJ Paul Announces ‘They Gon See Tennessee’ Collaborative Project With Young Buck

It looks like two of the most recognized Hip Hop artists from Tennessee are officially joining forces. Memphis’s DJ Paul and Nashville’s Young Buck have apparently been recording tracks together.

DJ Paul made the announcement about the forthcoming They Gon See Tennessee project on his Instagram page. He added both #Ep and #album hashtags to his post, so it is not clear at the moment if the body of work is a full-length release.

“Who Ready??? #TheyGonSeeTennessee Full Project Goin Down!! 2021 Lookin Better Already!!! It’s Goin Down As We Speak!!!!” wrote DJ Paul on Instagram. Buck posted on his IG account, “#2021 THE WORLD IS OURS @djpaulkom!!!! WHO READY.”

Young Buck’s current discography includes Straight Outta Cashville and Buck the World. Besides his work with the iconic Three 6 Mafia, DJ Paul dropped the solo efforts Underground Volume 16: For Da Summa, Scale-A-Ton, and A Person of Interest.

Roskilde Festival Organizers Announce Kendrick Lamar Has New Material On The Way

Compton’s Kendrick Lamar is headed to the Nordic region for a star-studded music concert. The Roskilde Festival revealed the Top Dawg Entertainment emcee will headline the 2021 event scheduled for June 26-July 3.

The 33-year-old recording artist previously performed at Roskilde in 2013 and 2015. In addition, the Roskilde 2021 line-up features Tyler, The Creator, Anderson .Paak, DaBaby, Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, and more acts.

Lamar has not released a solo studio LP since 2017’s Damn. He was also heavily involved in curating 2018’s Black Panther: The Album. Roskilde Festival organizers provided a little hint that a new project from K. Dot could arrive before he heads over to Europe.

“An artist like Kendrick Lamar doesn’t just make music that fits our current age, he also helps shape it. He is capable of giving a voice to those who might be needing it, and this kind of artist is essential to have right now,” reads a statement on the Roskilde Festival website. “With new material on the way, we have great expectations of Kendrick Lamar’s show on the Orange Stage.”

Eminem Talks Best Rapper Of All Time Debate & Names Some Of His Favorite Rappers

Hip Hop has always been seen as a competitive art form. From battling on street corners to arguing on Twitter, artists and fans of the culture are partially driven by the discussion around who is the greatest emcee.

Rap legend Eminem recently shared his thoughts on the best rapper of all time conversation during an episode of Zane Lowe’s At Home With on Apple Music. The Detroit native explained why he believes that debate will never be settled.

Eminem said:

Yeah, man, when people compare, when they try to compare eras, Hip Hop went through too many different transitions for anyone really to be the best rapper of all time, because rap has went through transitions. It’s evolved. Now people are doing things with flows that I never could have seen happening. But at the same time, rappers from that era meant so much more to that era, just because there were so many innovators and there were so many rappers.

The “Godzilla” spitter also talked about some of his favorite rappers:

I rap to be the best rapper, but I’m not the only rapper who raps to be the best rapper. [Lil Wayne], [J. Cole], [Kendrick Lamar], Joyner Lucas. They rap to be the best rapper, and I feel like when you push yourself like that, that’s what I feel like inspires greatness. But the list, man, sometimes you almost have to go by era. Tupac, I feel like rappers like Rakim, G Rap, [Big Daddy Kane], Treach, Pharaoh Munch, KRS-One would drive some new s###, it just outdid whatever was before that. And then along comes Rakim, and he out does that. And then along comes G Rap and he starts out doing everyone else. Redman, Redman was, to me, one of the most consistent artists. Still rapping to this day, is one of the most consistently dope rappers.

DaBaby Achieves Another Milestone For 2020

The year 2020 was really good for Charlotte, North Carolina rapper DaBaby.

In addition to snagging four Grammy Award nominations, the rapper can lay claim to another huge accomplishment.

Thanks to singles like “Rockstar” featuring Roddy Ricch, and “Nasty” featuring Megan Thee Stallion and Ashanti, DaBaby has been crowned the most played artist at Urban radio this year by Mediabase.

DaBaby bested artists like Lil Baby, Drake, and Pop Smoke, all of whom landed in the Top 10 most played artists of 2020.

The good news comes as DaBaby works on his exit plan as a performing artist.

The rapper revealed he had a 5-year plan to transition from an artist, to focus full time on his own record label a Billion Dollar Baby Entertainment.

YXNG K.A Is Officially ‘Reaper SZN’

YXNG K.A is only 18 years old and already destined for greatness. Hailing from the projects of North Philadelphia, the singer and rapper is a young prodigy in the making equipped with undeniable bars, vocal range, harmonizing melodies, and honest storytelling in his lyrics. In describing himself, he simply states, “I’m a chill, laidback guy that’s trying to do his business.”

From releasing his first song titled “Forever Committed” to signing to Interscope a few months later, the East Coast spitter is proof that dreams do come true as long as you work hard and stay passionate. Forgoing his initial dreams of becoming a professional athlete, YXNG K.A. would go home every day after school and write a couple songs a day. Whatever he’s going through, he put it into the music — with old and new fans instantly connecting.

From only making music less than two years ago to now his major label debut, Reaper SZN, YXNG K.A proves he’s just getting started.

AllHipHop: Growing up in North Philly, what was the household like growing up?

YXNG K.A: It was rough. You run into issues everyday that you’ve got to overcome like violence, the typical stuff that goes on around in a rough neighborhood. You got to stay focused and figure out ways to avoid it.

AllHipHop: When did music come into play for you?

YXNG K.A: A year and some change ago, February 2019. I started rapping because I’d made a bet with my friends, I was never really trying to be into it. Real things, serious things started happening for me, so I took the opportunity and ran with it. I got signed 3 months after I started rapping and decided to get in it. I got signed 3 months later, crazy. Everything came fast.

AllHipHop: 3 months is wild, what did you make of that?

YXNG K.A: Me at that time, I didn’t really know how to feel about it because I never went through them reps. I felt good, it was a good feeling because everyone wants a record deal. I got a good deal, I didn’t just sign anything. It was different, a good experience.

AllHipHop: Biggest influences?

YXNG K.A: Right now, it’s people in my own team like my manager. The people around me.

AllHipHop: Who are your Top 5 artists in rotation?

YXNG K.A: I like Lil Uzi. I like Lil Durk. I like NBA Youngboy. I like Roddy Ricch. I got to put Meek on there. I listen to a lot of artists, there’s not really one that I look up to. I like a lot of artists, they all inspire me. They’re all doing what I want to do.

AllHipHop: What’s the inspiration behind your name?

YXNG K.A: YXNG K.A, it’s crazy. It sounds crazy, but it’s really what happened. I happened to lose my password to my old Instagram and when I made a new Instagram, the name was YXNG K.A. When I started rapping, I couldn’t think of a name. It’s already on my Instagram account, so I made it that. I ran with that. Baby Reaper, I feel like I needed a mascot, something that describes me. It’s a way to describe myself, the way I move.

AllHipHop: “It Is What It Is” remix with Lil Tjay and J.I. I actually interviewed J.I an hour ago.

YXNG K.A: I’m cool with J.I. I appreciate them for reaching out. We shot the video and everything, it was fun. Not going to lie, that was my first industry-type video. I’ve never shot a video like that. I had a good experience with them. We had chopped it up forreal, talking here and there. Shout out J.I. and Tjay too.

AllHipHop: Best memory from the video shoot?

YXNG K.A: The whole shoot was fun. It was different. We shot the whole day and it was cold, real cold. The most memorable part, it was so cold out there. We’re outside trying to shoot, it was freezing. It was too cold. I don’t know the exact degrees, but it was brick out there.

AllHipHop: “Living the Dream” with Lil Poppa out now. How are you feeling?

YXNG K.A: I like that record a lot. It’s going extremely well. A lot of people were waiting on it before they even knew I had Lil Poppa on it, they wanted the song. We had fun shooting the video, he’s a cool dude too. Shout out to him.

AllHipHop: How did that play to come together?

YXNG K.A: That was through the label Interscope, one of my A&Rs Baroline.

AllHipHop: What is the dream to you?

YXNG K.A: For real, being able to do what you want to do. Whatever it is you want to do, you’re able to do it whenever. Anything you want to do, do it. Living your life with no pressure on you, no worries.

AllHipHop: Is that how life is for you right now?

YXNG K.A: Right now, nah I ain’t nowhere near that yet. I’m in it, but I ain’t all the way there yet. It’s definitely coming though.

AllHipHop: What does it mean to be all the way there?

YXNG K.A: All the way there: you got property, you got income, multiple ways of income. You got mostly what you need, down pact. When you can really do what you want to do. You’re not really working for what you need, you already have it.

AllHipHop: You say you got A’s in high school, what was your favorite subject?

YXNG K.A: Math, that’s one of the easiest. You don’t got to do too much. Other things, you really got to be researching a bunch of stuff. Math, you can know it if you pay attention to it.

AllHipHop: Bring us back to when you recorded “My Ways,” that one’s super personal.

YXNG K.A: That’s one of my top 3 songs. With me, I like my hooks in my songs to be really personal. The lyrics come out of me. The hook is what hits the hardest, that’s really what I’m going through right now as far as my whole situation. It’s one of those songs that gets to me when I hear it. Everytime I hear it, it gives me a different feeling.

AllHipHop: You say, “I know I had the pain so easy but I got issues too,” how is music a coping mechanism for you?

YXNG K.A: When I make a good song… sometimes you feel better about some songs. Some songs you hear, you know they’re going to like that song. When I make that type of song, it motivates me to keep going. It gives me more motivation, I can keep doing it. I can keep giving what the people want to hear. As far as music-wise, it can get overwhelming though at times because I’m not used to it, but it’s nothing I can’t overcome.

AllHipHop: What’s a day in the life of Yxng K.A?

YXNG K.A: Right now, I’m in grind, work-mode right now. We aren’t flexing or none of that. We working right now, we’re not looking for all that. We’re not worried about none of that.

AllHipHop: You’re only 18, what do you like to do for fun?

YXNG K.A: I really like sports. I like football and basketball. I’m a chill type of person, I’m cool with falling back. If I don’t have any business I need to handle, I’m chill, relaxed. I’m kicking it with the homies.

AllHipHop: What is it you want fans to get from your story?

YXNG K.A: I want them to know that anything’s possible. Don’t ever doubt yourself or feel discouraged by one’s opinion. Even 2 opinions, 3 opinions, 4 opinions, 5 opinions, none of that, it’s a whole world out there. Always believe in yourself before anything. That’s what I always say. You have to believe in yourself before anything. Keep going, don’t let anything stop you. That’s my rule, my whole slogan.

AllHipHop: 3 things you need in the studio?

YXNG K.A: I need my weed, I need water, and I need the engineer. That’s it, I go to the studio by myself.

AllHipHop: What can we expect from your album, Reaper SZN?

YXNG K.A: Even more of me, more of what I’m going through. More of my life, you’re going to hear about everything I’m going through. Whatever I put out, it’s heat. That’s all I know, everything is heat.

AllHipHop: How does it feel to have the cosigns from 21 and Meek?

YXNG K.A: Meek’s cool, it’s cool they’re showing love. I appreciate them guys. I’d actually seen 21 before they posted me. He talked to me when he seen me in person, that was cool. I respect him for that. They be showing me love.

AllHipHop: What was that conversation like?

YXNG K.A: It was quick. He said “you got the song with the one guy,” he’s talking about Tjay and J.I. He said “it’s hot, I f### with that s###.”

AllHipHop: Anything else you want to let us know?

YXNG K.A: Stay tuned. The whole team stays stunnin’, everybody’s coming. Everybody that’s rocking with us, that’s rocking with Yxng K.A, appreciate y’all.

Diddy Puts Billions To Work To Help Miami Families In Need

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is helping Miami residents pay their rent amid the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the New York Post’s Page Six, the rapper is supporting a number of families in the Overton neighborhood and offering grants to help 175 families across the area to pay for their housing as well as essentials.

Diddy will be giving out the financial gifts through his Sean Combs Foundation.

The report comes after Diddy was recently forced to cancel his annual New Year’s Eve party amid the coronavirus pandemic, which he usually holds in Miami, Florida.

Alongside a heart emoji, he wrote on his Instagram story: “TO ALL MY FRIENDS: In efforts to keep everyone safe & Healthy unfortunately WE ARE NOT HAVING A NYE PARTY THIS YEAR! I hope everyone had a blessed holiday and wish you all the best for the new year!”

The Weeknd Explains How Covid-19 Inspired His Creativity

The Weeknd has been “more inspired and creative” than ever this year.

The singer – real name is Abel Tesfaye – admitted the follow-up record to 2020’s After Hours is likely to be more political than his previous albums because he’s got so much to say about the world following the coronavirus pandemic, the divisive state of U.S. politics, and the Black Lives Matter protests that took place around the globe this year.

“I have been more inspired and creative during the pandemic than I might normally be,” he told Tmrw magazine. “The pandemic, the Black Lives Matter movement, and the tensions of the U.S. election have mostly created a sense of gratitude for what I have and closeness with the people near me.”

The “Blinding Lights” hitmaker recently branded the Grammy Awards “corrupt” after he was snubbed for any nominations for the critically-acclaimed After Hours and revealed he’d been planning to perform at the ceremony until he was overlooked.

In a series of tweets, he wrote: “The Grammys remain corrupt. You owe me, my fans, and the industry transparency…

“Collaboratively planning a performance for weeks to not being invited? In my opinion zero nominations = you’re not invited! (sic)”

Following The Weeknd’s initial comments, Grammy bosses insisted they were “surprised” he wasn’t up for an award and blamed the lack of nods on there being “fewer” to hand out “than the number of deserving artists”.

Recording Academy Chair Harvey Mason Jr. said: “We understand that The Weeknd is disappointed at not being nominated. I was surprised and can empathize with what he’s feeling.

“His music this year was excellent, and his contributions to the music community and broader world are worthy of everyone’s admiration. Unfortunately, every year, there are fewer nominations than the number of deserving artists. All Grammy nominees are recognized by the voting body for their excellence, and we congratulate them all.”

AllHipHop EXCLUSIVE: Lil Wayne Gets Sentencing Date Over Gun On Private Jet

New Orleans rap star Lil Wayne will learn his fate over a gun charge this Spring.

The Young Money boss was caught with a gold-plated .45 handgun on his private jet last December after a tipster warned the Feds that he was packing heat on his flight from Los Angeles to Miami.

The Feds greeted the rapper at the Miami Opa-Locka Executive Airport on December 23rd, 2019, and when they boarded his jet they found the gun, along with cocaine and opioids in Lil Wayne’s bag.

Police Seize Cocaine And Guns On Lil Wayne’s Private Jet

On December 11th, 2020, Wayne admitted the gun was his and pleaded guilty to one count of possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.

Wayne’s lawyer Howard Srebnick originally requested expedited sentencing, which was slated for January 28th.

Last week, AllHipHop broke the news that Srebnick was dealing with a burdensome caseload, and requested for the rap star’s sentencing to be pushed back.

Earlier this week, U.S. District Judge Kathleen Williams gave Wayne a new date for sentencing, which has been confirmed for the first week of March.

Although the Feds are requesting prison time for Lil Wayne, who served a year on Rikers Island in 2010, after the cops found a .40 caliber handgun on his tour bus back in July of 2007, his guilty plea could earn him a break, which is totally up to the discretion of Judge Kathleen Williams.

Lil Wayne is slated to appear before Judge Kathleen Williams on March 4th, 2021 when he will officially be sentenced.

Tyrese continued: “We feel incredibly blessed to have found each other and deeply grateful for the 4 years we have been married to each other, Our journey together has been a ride of both ups & downs, but it’s a journey that neither of us would have chosen to take with anyone else. We truly have so much love & respect for each other. We both have grown tremendously within this relationship; we have shared so many beautiful memories and moments, and we also look forward to see the amazing futures we have ahead of us individually.”

The screen star concluded his post by stating that he wanted not to take any bad energy into 2021.

“As if 2020 hasn’t already been extremely grueling and challenging to us all we wanted to mutually speak on this now to keep this energy in 2020 and not take this energy into 2021,” he explained. “We would really appreciate your most sincere prayers and to respect our privacy at this time as we deal with the reality of where we are. Thank you, Sincerely & Respectfully, Samantha & Tyrese Gibson.”

Eminem Reveals An Insatiable Passion For Collecting Cassette Tapes

Eminem Reveals An Insatiable Passion For Collecting Cassette Tapes

The Detroit rapper’s passion for Hip-Hop extends way beyond rocking a microphone.

Eminem popped up a special guest Zane Lowe’s Apple Music and talked about a number of subjects, from his passion for collecting cassette tapes, to his favorite artists, as well as his own influence on the rap game.

The Detroit rapper revealed he has an insatiable appetite for collecting hard to find cassette tapes stemming from his childhood obsession with the genre he would eventually dominate.

“When I was a kid, I didn’t have money to buy every tape I ever wanted. You know what I’m saying? So usually what we had to do was go to this place called Record Time, and I would take the tape that came out a couple of weeks ago, trade it in for the new tape, whatever else was out,” Eminem said. “Me and my friends would take turns buying the tape and be like, ‘It’s your turn to buy this tape and I get to dub it, and then it’ll be my turn to buy the next tape.’ But it also was like you would dub some s### it’d be like …the air would be like … And you’d hear the air more than the tape. You’d have to turn it all the way up, and then all you hear is the bass from it and that sh-t. Yeah, that sh-t sucked. But I said to myself, ‘If I ever make it one day as a rapper, I’m going to get every tape that I always wanted.'”

During the sit down with Zane Lowe Eminem also touched on some of the artists who impacted his career, including Run-DMC, The Large Professor, and the Hip-Hop group 3rd Bass.

“I’ll never forget where I was when I saw the ‘King of Rock’ video. I was at my Aunt Edna’s house, and I would sleep in the living room sometimes with the TV on. I remember I was about to go to sleep and I don’t even know what channel I was watching, and that came on when they were walking up to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, “Oh, s### that’s Run-D.M.C.?’ I had never seen the video. I knew who Run-D.M.C. was, but I had never seen an actual video from them. I was probably, I don’t know, 11 or 12 maybe, somewhere around there. But yeah, man. And it was just so … like, come on, man. Who the f-k was cooler than Run-D.M.C.? Who was cooler? Nobody.”

While he is widely considered one of the greatest rappers of all time thanks to albums like The Slim Shady EP, The Marshall Mathers LP, and The Eminem Show, Em said there really is no GOAT.

“Hip Hop’s went through too many different transitions for anyone really to be the best rapper of all time, because rap has went through transitions,” Eminem reasoned. “It’s evolved. Now people are doing things with flows that I never could have seen happening. But at the same time, rappers from that era meant so much more to that era, just because there were so many innovators and there were so many rappers.”

Eminem’s rare interview comes on the heels of his new album Music to Be Murdered By crushing a 50-year-old chart record.

The album just leaped to #3 on the Billboard 200 chart, breaking a record held by Folk rocker, Bob Dylan.

Em unseated Bob Dylan’s 1970 album Self Portrait, which was the previous record holder.

The rapper’s album was boosted by the recent release of the deluxe version of the album, titled Music to Be Murdered By – Side B which features a whopping 16 additional tracks.

Music to Be Murdered By debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 when it was released on January 17th, 2020. The album is certified gold by the RIAA.

The “Unforgettable” hitmaker said a trip to the intensive care unit opens his eyes to the importance of his health and laying off the drugs.

French attributed his new shape to nothing but hard work and laying off Liquor, Adderall, and Percocets, which he admitted had become a bad habit.

Nicki Minaj & Dionne Warwick Connect On Social Media Over Pink Wigs

Dionne Warwick continues to extend her reign as the new Queen of Twitter. Over the last several weeks, the R&B legend has been randomly tweeting about other celebrities, including The Weeknd, Chance The Rapper, Megan Thee Stallion, and Teyana Taylor.

The light-hearted posts often provoke positive responses from the modern-day performers. Recently, Dionne Warwick had Hip Hop star Nicki Minaj on her mind.

After a user asked Warwick if she was a “Barb” – the name given to a diehard Minaj fan – the 80-year-old songstress eventually tweeted, “Nicki Minaj has a wonderful career. Yes.” Then a media outlet ran a headline claiming Warwick was pushed to admitting she was a Barb.

This led to Warwick retweeting a photoshopped picture of her in a pink wig similar to one Minaj is known to wear on stage and in videos. She also tweeted, “I hope @NICKIMINAJ likes my hair. It is very different now… Time to log off! I will come back if Nicki sees my hair. Maybe I will try a new look tomorrow. Any suggestions?”

Minaj did get wind of Warwick’s tweets. Yesterday afternoon, the 38-year-old rapper simply replied to the elder stateswoman with the word “legend” and the folded hands emoji. Warwick responded, “And back at you.” The multi-time Lifetime Achievement Award recipient added the two red hearts emoji to her quote-tweet.

J. Cole Teases Release Schedule For “The Fall Off Era”

Jermaine Cole has not released a full-length studio album since 2018’s 2x-Platinum KOD. However, there have been signs that the Grammy winner’s next LP, tentatively titled The Fall Off, is on the way soon.

When he dropped “The Climb Back” and “Lion King on Ice” in July, Cole introduced those tracks as the first two songs from The Fall Off. The Fayetteville, North Carolina representative gave a few more hints about the project’s arrival in a new social media post.

On Tuesday, J. Cole returned to Instagram with a cryptic message for his 5.6 million followers. He posted a photo of a notebook page that featured the phrases “The Fall Off Era,” “The Off-Season,” “It’s A Boy,” and “The Fall Off.”

In addition, “Features” and “ROTD3” were crossed out which suggested Cole had already completed those items on his “to-do” list. Following his exceptional run of guest appearances in 2018 and 2019, Cole announced last year he was no longer doing features for the foreseeable future.

“ROTD3” refers to Dreamville Records’ chart-topping Revenge of the Dreamers III. By teaming his Dreamville music roster with numerous other Hip Hop acts – such as DaBaby, T.I, Buddy, Reason, Vince Staples, Dreezy, Saba, and Guapdad 4000 – Cole was able to put together a critically-acclaimed and commercially-successful compilation.

Has J. Cole’s attention now turned back to crafting a solo effort to add to his discography? It appears the IG image with “The Fall Off” clearly emphasized suggests J. Cole’s fans could be getting another potential classic in the coming weeks. Cole wrote in the Instagram caption, “I still got some goals I gotta check off for I scram…”

The veiled announcement seemed to get some of the Dreamville artists excited. Atlanta emcee J.I.D commented under Cole’s IG with, “YESSIRSKIIIII.” The Atlanta duo known as EarthGang wrote, “Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!!!!” New York’s Bas typed, “It’s up.” Chicago’s Omen simply added raising hands and fire emojis. Dreamville co-founder Ibrahim Hamad posted under the pic, “I’m Rich as a f### but I ain’t been to Japaaannnn.”
