Black Knights of the Northstar ft. RZA “T.I.M.E. (Truth I Master Equally)”

California’s Black Knights of the Northstar were discovered in 1997 by Wu-Tang Clan‘s founder and leader, RZA, becoming the first group from the West Coast to be signed to Wu-Tang Records. The group later separated in 2000 into two groups: Black Knights (Crisis, Rugged Monk, Holocaust and Doc Doom) and Northstar (Christ Bearer and Meko The Pharaoh), while still continuing to work closely together over the years. These West Coast Killa Beez have made key appearances on some of Wu-Tang’s classic RIAA certified Platinum and Gold releases “Wu-Tang Killa Beez: The Swarm,’ “The Sting”, all of RZA’s Bobby Digital” projects, and numerous RZA film soundtracks including “Ghost Dog” and Afro Samurai.” For the first time, they have reunited to record their debut collective album, “Northstar on the Blackest Night” as RZA envisioned when he signed them over 20 years ago. This debut also introduces a new member, West London’s Shaka Amazulu The 7th and features guest appearances from RZA, Ghostface KillahCappadonnaKillarmy and Kurupt. The Black Knights of the Northstar’s highly anticipated reunion is spearheaded by their RZA-introduced single/video, “T.I.M.E. (Truth I Master Equally)”, which delivers the addictive raw Wu-Tang energy the entire world got hooked to in the ’90s.  The Skarekrow produced head-nodder invokes a spiritual-like trance while each word wizard takes turns spitting their righteous spell.  The skillfully animated visual imagines a sinister cinema coming to life, jumping out of the silver screen to invade real life.  When speaking about “T.I.M.E.”, the California collective unitedly declared, “Timing is everything! It’s our time. It’s time for the truth.” The ‘Northstar on the Darkest Night’ LP is available now on CD and all major digital/streaming platforms via Black Stone Of Mecca Records. Limited edition double vinyl (featuring two separate vinyl jackets and covers) can be purchased HERE   and other physical merch including CDs  at http://northstarwu.shop while supplies last.

Lil Durk Releases “Backdoor” Music Video With Tribute To King Von

2020 has been a memorable year in Lil Durk’s career. He scored his first Top 2 hit on the Hot 100 chart as a feature on Drake’s “Laugh Now Cry Later.” Durk also earned two Grammy nominations for the single.

In contrast, the Chicago-raised rhymer had to deal with the loss of his musical protégé Dayvon “King Von” Bennett. The 26-year-old Only The Family affiliate was killed in Atlanta on November 6.

Durk had remained mostly out of public sight since King Von’s death. However, he popped back out with a new song and music video on Sunday night.

Jerry Production was behind the camera for the new visuals. While promoting the release of the “Back Door” MV on Twitter, Lil Durk added the hashtag “#DoIt4Von” to his tweet.

Back in May, Durk dropped his fifth studio album called Just Cause Y’all Waited 2. With guest appearances by Lil Baby, Polo G, Gunna, and G Herbo, the sequel to Durk’s 2018 mixtape debuted in the Top 5 of the Billboard 200 chart.

King Von was shot and killed following an altercation outside at an Atlanta-area nightclub. Timothy Leeks, 22, was arrested and charged with felony murder while hospitalized for a gunshot wound.

Watch The Full Too Short & E-40 ‘Verzuz’ Battle

This weekend saw the Bay Area get their chance to take over the Verzuz series. California rap legends Too $hort and E-40 took part in the latest musical faceoff.

Anyone that missed Saturday’s Verzuz can now watch the “Legends of the Bay” event on-demand. Revolt TV uploaded the nearly three-hour hits-for-hits battle on its YouTube channel.

In addition, Apple Music subscribers can watch Too Short vs E-40 on that platform. The streaming service also provided a Lowkey-curated “Cheat Sheet” playlist which features some of the two rappers’ songs in CDQ.

E-40 and Too $hort did not only entertain viewers by running through records from their respective catalogs live. Both men also join forces to release a new 20-track bundled album titled Ain’t Gone Do It/Terms and Conditions.

Kid Cudi’s ‘Man On The Moon III’ & Jack Harlow’s ‘Thats What They All Say’ Debut In The Top 5

On December 11, Kid Cudi returned with his seventh studio LP. Man on the Moon III: The Chosen gave the Cleveland rapper his highest-charting solo Billboard 200 position since 2013.

With 144,000 first-week units, Man on the Moon III debuted at #2 on the latest chart behind Taylor Swift’s Evermore. This is Cudi’s first Top 2 non-duet entry since 2013’s Indicud.

In 2018, Kid Cudi partnered with G.O.O.D. Music founder Kanye West to release Kids See Ghosts. The joint effort also landed at #2. Cudi has yet to score a No. 1 album on the Billboard 200.

Elsewhere on this week’s rankings, Jack Harlow’s debut studio album, Thats What They All Say, opened at #5 with 51,000 units. His hit single “Whats Poppin” and the remix version featuring DaBaby, Tory Lanez, and Lil Wayne both appear on the project.

Pop Smoke’s Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon slipped one spot to #7. Bad Bunny’s El Ultimo Tour del Mundo (#9) and Mariah Carey’s Merry Christmas (#10) remained in the Top 10.

ALLHIPHOP EXCLUSIVE: Famous Dex Is In Rehab After Disturbing Images Online

By Houston Williams

Famous Dex is now getting help for his addictions.

AllHipHop has learned exclusively that Famous Dex has entered into rehab, but the specificity has not been determined. Drugs have been a constant source of problems for the rapper in the past and he has been open about that.

Over the weekend, the Chicago-based rapper made headlines after being in a state that had people worried that he was about to overdose.

On Saturday, the rapper uploaded a video on Instagram, seemingly extremely intoxicated, but rapping to new music. He also posted images of new tattoos that said “Sad” and “Love.” He then tweeted, “I don’t wanna smile no more.”

https://twitter.com/ninotheboxer/status/1340495396389363712?

In a recent interview with AllHipHop, from October 2020, the rapper discussed living a cleaner life.

He told AllHipHop writer Shirley Ju, “Somebody said they want the old Dex, well listen. You can’t get the old Dex, let me tell you something. If you get the old Dex, you’ll get the lean-drinking Dex, the xan-popping Dex, the Dex that was doing dumb s###. You don’t want the old Dex.”

When questioned about the lyrics on “Covered In Diamonds,” he says “sipping lean like it’s coffee.”

He said explained: “I stopped when I stopped. I mean, nothing’s easy when you’re doing something for so long, especially when it becomes a habit. You’re not holding science, I’m not a fiend for it. You are who you hang around, I’m around the right people who are telling me that’s not the right thing to do.”

EXCLUSIVE: Famous Dex Talks Dedicating ‘Diana’ To His Late Mother

There has been a concern for Dex’s health as well in recent years by fans and those close to him.

Two years ago, in December 2018, he seemed to nod off in an Instagram Live session, but the rapper insisted he was not on drugs.

Dex said, “I always know. Only you know — not my manager, not anybody. You know you. With that being said, I ain’t got nothing to explain. The video that’s right now going viral, that’s kind of so stupid? For one, I’m a human being and I work my ass off. And once you put overtime, overnight and then you come back home at 4 something in the morning and you decide to go live — hey. Don’t let the world trick you and be fooled.”

Famous Dex experienced a seizure at 1OAK in West Hollywood, California during a November 2019 performance. Even though the seizure happened in front of a crowd of fans and the local Los Angeles Fire Department was alerted, Dex did not go to get help at that time.

Now, sources say that he was taken to rehab after the Saturday night incident. Details are scant but a source said that Dex was transported in a Rolls Royce where he will ultimately get help.

Inquiries to Dex’s team were not immediately returned.

Lil Baby Giving Away Thousands Of Free Coats To Children

Rap star Lil Baby will make Christmas special for thousands of families in Atlanta this week.

At the end of November, Lil Baby, who is one of rap’s biggest success stories of 2020, announced he was donating all of the proceeds of his hit single “The Bigger Picture” to charity.

The rap star revealed he had $1.5 million in profits earmarked from sales of “The Bigger Picture” to give back to the community, and he’s making good on his word this week.

This Wednesday (December 23rd) Lil Baby and representatives from his record label Quality Control will be at the West End Marta Station, to provide 2,000 brand new coats to the community.

Lil Baby will be on hand to greet parents and their kids during his incredible act of kindness, after a dismal 2020 for most people around the country.

Thanks to COVID-19, Georgia reached its highest unemployment rate in 10 years with the numbers peaking in April of 2020.

Although the unemployment rate has been on a steady decline, the figures are still well above the pre-pandemic rates from 2019-2020.

Registration is being encouraged. Check out the details on the flyer:

Boosie Asks Fans To Post Videos Of Guns In Their Car To Earn Christmas Cash

A post shared by Boosie (@booosienewig)

Boosie is offering the winner of the challenge $2,000, just in time for Christmas – but the winner could also get a trip to jail as well. Boosie was immediately taken to task over the “Stick In Da Car” challenge, which many felt could get people arrested, indicted, and even worse – killed.

“What a bad example, especially for the times we’re in,” wrote one user in a message to Boosie. Another user added: “you about to have n##### self snitch on their ass.”

“Stick In Da Car” is Boosie’s homage to keeping a gun in his car to shoot down his enemies. The rapper is still recovering from a gunshot wound he sustained in Dallas, Texas on his birthday (November 14th), a few days after the murder of his friend and collaborator, Mo3.

The police have charged a man named Kewon Dontrell White for gunning down Mo3 on a busy Dallas freeway, in broad daylight. So far, no one has been arrested for shooting up Boosie’ sprinter van in an incident that left him seriously wounded and wheelchair bound.

Wack 100 Makes Alleged Racist See Stars In Attempted Assault

Wack 100 is one of the most interesting dudes in the rap game. At times, he has agitated and other times, be a speaker of absolute facts. Well, on this day, we are calling him a winner. Over the weekend, he had a situation where two men attempted to “bank” him in a fight. He managed to fend them off. One thing that helped was a left hook. As they tried it, he caught and DROPPED one of them smooth down. He got up, but when he did, he was leaking blood. He lost his enthusiasm for fighting at that point leaving his buddy to take on Wack alone. Well, his buddy decided to start snitching “get his plates.” See, that is what these cowards do, and they know they can: the become punks when their aggression is met with more force. Call the cops? You double teaming a dude! CORNY!

Anyway, Wack was like “get down, get down” like he was dealing with a pair of rabid dogs. I guess he was in some ways. LOL! What’s wild is that the video was taken down off AllHipHop’s IG. But we got it off Rob Lane Edits. Check it out here and laugh, because he added his lil edit spin on it to make it more entertaining. I guess that passes the censor dogs on IG. Who knows.

Here is the full video.

Here is the statement wack made after the attack attempt.

wack100

Its always funny hearing otherwise apolitical dudes evoke pro-Black nationalist talk when they get caught out there. Nah, Wack is a soldier. I hope he uses that spirit for the betterment of the people that got him rich. Salute.

Fresh On Writing “Lucid Dreams” For Brandy, Speaks About Being A Black Man In America

Fresh has worked with some of the greatest names in the music industry, and he shows no plans of slowing down anytime soon.

During a tumultuous 2020 where the COVID-19 pandemic and social injustice has taken a toll on everybody’s life, jobs, and overall mental health, the producer, songwriter, and visionary shines on top with one of the biggest years of his career.

With his own company titled King With A Dream, inspired by his last name King, Fresh is heavily influenced by the legends: from Michael Jordan and Kobe to Michael Jackson and Prince to Stevie Wonder and Biggie. The 3 words he lives by are “figure it out,” which lead him relocating to Los Angeles without having one single contact.

He states, “Flew myself out, put my money up for myself and built a relationship that now my phone’s crazy.”

To date, Fresh has incredible accolades under his belt, including 9 Grammy nominations and one win for his workin co-writing “All Night” on Beyonce’s critically-acclaimed LEMONADE album.

AllHipHop: You say you’re driven and focused, where does this drive come from?

Fresh: Literally knowing when you don’t have options, you learn to create them. I’m not trying to be deep in thought, I’m a thinker.

AllHipHop: You’re from Brooklyn but lived in Queens, how does that play into your life and career?

Fresh: To keep it all the way 100 with you, my mom wasn’t around after 10. My dad left around 2 or 3 so he wasn’t in my life. I was fortunate enough to beat the system. My grandparents raised me, truly the best thing that ever happened to me in my life. Had I not had them, I wouldn’t be sitting here talking to you today. When you watch the Lion King, no pun intended, when he says the Elephant’s Graveyard, that’s what Brownsville, Brooklyn felt like. “What goes there never comes out,” is what he told Simba. I made it out of that.

AllHipHop: When did you come to LA?

Fresh: I was bicoastal for 3.5 to 4 years. About a solid 3 years ago, I said “yo I’m spending 8 months out the year here. What am I doing? I’m only in New York for family and friends but they at work all day, I gotta get the f### outta there.” I came to LA and turnt it up after I built myself. I’m flying back, I got Scott Storch hitting me like “yo, you left?” Yeah dawg, it’s been two weeks.” He goes “I had this play for you.” I’m tired of doing plays to come do nothing in New York. New York’s dry. I love my city but that s### dry. I love the city but for where we at, you can’t tell Steve Jobs that Apple’s going to Asia and you’re like “nah, I’ma stay in the United States.” N*gga, I’m out. So I was out.

AllHipHop: What’s the dynamic in the studio working with Scott Storch?

Fresh: Scott works out of his crib. Smokes, 420 all day. We light up. Depends on the energy we working on. It’s always fun working with Scott. It’s melodies, it’s concept, free from restriction. It’s the way studios should be. You get to open up the f###### door, look outside, sit by the pool, make music and make money. That’s what this should be about: try to work with the people you enjoy having fun with.

AllHipHop: Did you learn anything from him?

Fresh: Just because you’re down, doesn’t mean you’re out. It taught me don’t ever take this s### for granted. Understand that as long as you got the musical gift and you respect it, it’ll always keep giving you.

AllHipHop: What were those sessions like with Brandy?

Fresh: Think about going into a session with somebody like Brandy, sitting there having therapy sessions, vibing with her. We begin writing songs, goes in the booth and sings the song back to you. You’re hearing this voice that you’ve heard your whole life sing songs you just wrote with her & Kaydence, that s###’s amazing. With the theme music of DJ Camper, the musical choices and taste buds on that s### was insane. Those sessions felt like a dream, nah this s### ain’t real. Go to Atlanta like “yo Brandy’s singing this song back, this is nuts.” That’s what it is.

AllHipHop: Favorite song you made with Brandy?

Fresh: Besides “Borderline,” I didn’t do that one. I came in late right after they did that one. My favorite song is “Lucid Dreams” because of what it stood for. The times where she’s going through a lot and I could relate to it. She began dealing with Ambiens and getting addicted, wanting to be asleep more than she wanted to be awake. With depression, she’d have these dreams where she felt alive inside those dreams. That spoke to my soul because we all had those spots or we will have those spots in our lives. I love when fans hit me back about that one. It wasn’t about it being a #1, sometimes the #1 ain’t always the song that tops the charts sometimes it’s the song that strikes the soul the most.

AllHipHop: What was the dynamic working with Ari Lennox?

Fresh: F###### amazing. Easy. At this point in time, the level that we’re at, it’s the pros. If you’re here, you belong here. It’s deeper than talent. Are you going to work for it and be disciplined enough to deliver? It doesn’t matter where they take you if you’re good at your job, you gon’ do it everywhere you’re at. Ari’s another one I’m excited for. During a time of black struggle, blacks being triumphant and standing up, humanity starting to see we’re keeping it real: black people deal with a lot of s### other races don’t have to deal with. Not saying they don’t, but not to the detriment of what we deal with. To see a young queen survive all that and sing about black beauty is a real beautiful thing. She’s not on some “b####, hoe, f### a n*gga,” it’s good f###### music. It might be sexy sometimes, but who doesn’t like that?

AllHipHop: 9 Grammy noms and one win is impressive. What’re you most proud of to date?

Fresh: I’ma keep it real. I’m nominated for 6 Grammys: 5 with “Black Parade” and Black Is King, one for “Collide” from Queen & Slim. If you see the thread of that, I never called a woman a b#### in either of those songs. I never talked about killing my own. I almost went against the grain of what we’re up against and did it at such a high musical taste during black excellence that it resonated in the world. Showed me I don’t have to conform for excellence. To me if that’s not true black excellence, what is?

AllHipHop: What does it mean to be a black man in America today?

Fresh: We’re still asking that question. What it means sometimes is blatant disrespect, the disrespect that gets underneath your skin. When somebody’s doing some s### but they make you think you’re stupid for knowing they’re doing the s###? That’s what it feels like being a black man in American. I know that if I drive this 2021 you’re not pulling me over because it’s a 2021. You’re pulling me over because it’s a black man in a 2021. You have no other reason because we’re profiled. Either we’re a ball player or a drug dealer, no one ever walks up to us when your black and says “are you a surgeon?” I can’t be intelligent because I’m black?

Look at me, I protested 7 times this year. NY and the rest in LA. You get tired. That’s what “Black Parade” is about, it’s a celebration of us. Stop apologizing for something that’s God-given. Why should anyone feel lesser? A lot of that had to do with the reflection of the presidency, choices of words. Not to be political but that s### ignites things and had racists excited about life.

It started to reveal to the world which is the blessing of 2020, the clarity was y’all really on some b####### with black people. My Asian friends, my Caucasian friends, my Latin friends, my Indian friends for once, they had no choice but to see it. You can turn a blind eye but just know you’re moving in ignorance. When you’re sitting at home and there ain’t s### to do, you’re dealing with Covid like me, well f###. You’re murdering people like that? In the streets? To be black in America is almost like a death sentence.

AllHipHop: Any last words?

Fresh: If life was a bank and cash was energy, you want to deposit as much good energy as you can. When you withdraw from it, the checks will be unlimited. I’m living in my unlimited moments right now.

EXCLUSIVE: Lil Wayne’s Lawyer Asks For Sentencing Delay Over Gun Charge

Lil Wayne may have to wait a few months before he learns his fate for having a gun on his private jet last December.

The rap star’s lawyer Howard Srebnick has revealed his request for a January sentencing date for possessing a loaded Remington 1911 .45-caliber gun in a bag on his private jet in December of 2019 was overly ambitious.

During Lil Wayne’s first hearing on December 11th, Srebnick proposed an accelerated sentencing date for January of 2021, which was court-approved.

However, Wayne’s lawyer just submitted a new request to the court asking for the rapper’s sentencing date to be pushed back.

“Given the press of other work-related matters and family events during the several weeks following the plea, undersigned’s proposal was overly ambitious,” Howard Srebnick wrote to the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida.

Lil Wayne’s lawyer said he is working on a case pro-bono over the next few weeks, while his staff will be unavailable thanks to Christmas and the New Year’s holiday.

Wayne’s lawyer has already been in touch with prosecutors, who have agreed to draft a sentencing memorandum and organize the evidentiary presentation for a hearing in January, but the rapper will have to wait another month before he receives his actual sentence.

The rapper is facing up to 10 years in prison for the offense, although his plea agreement will certainly result in a reduced sentence, yet there are no guarantees.

Prosecutors are planning to recommend a sentence of imprisonment at the low end of the guideline range, however, Wayne’s admission of guilt can only help his case.

“The court is required to consider the advisory guideline range determined under the sentencing guidelines but is not bound to impose a sentence within that advisory range,” according to the plea agreement Wayne signed. “The court is permitted to tailor the ultimate sentence in light of other statutory concerns, and such sentence may be either more severe or less severe than the sentence in guidelines advisory range.”

After consulting with United States prosecutors, both parties have agreed to a sentencing date for early March of 2021.

Although the judge has yet to sign off on the day, Lil Wayne’s lawyer suggests he should be sentenced on the afternoon of March 2nd, 4th 9th, or the 11th.

A Couple Words About The Verzuz Battle With E-40 & Too Short

I watched the Verzuz battle with E-40 (Earl) And Too Short (Short Dawg). It as very interesting to see and hear the nuances with The Bay as opposed to the rest of the West Coast. I found it ever-enlightening, to be honest. But there was some stuff that I didn’t fully gather.

First if all, respect to the two legends. Those guys are so powerful and they really speak VOLUMES to the power of The Bay, even if they don’t always get the credit. They deserved this! So that leads me to my rumor…

The word on the street is that this “production” cost Verzuz/Apple $500,000! How?! Well, before we go there, it only makes me wonder what the rappers got! There’s no way they are going to create a $500k production and not have bread to break off the rappers. 40 Water and Too deserve some of those ends! PERIOD! I also like how E-40 promoted his liquor and so did Too Short. That was boss. Anyway, nobody I know can explain what justifies these costs. What was mentioned was 1) dealing with unions 2) staffing on site 3) the set and things. And, perhaps…the fee for the artists is included in there.

Then there was some of the crazy stuff that happened! People got on Nick Cannon. He was on IG giving up tape on what words meant and people said he was snitching. Peep this:

Nick Cannon Snitch

Well, the digital streets didn’t miss it and chimed in!

https://twitter.com/Kan_Dis/status/1340544135770431489

Some people expounded, because Nick was just deciphering ALL the slang…not just the drug stuff.

Anyway, Nick still out there doing God’s work.

Anyway, there was a more brazy moment when Too Short blurted out “Yall was selling cocaine!” and 40 cleaned that up. I don’t know what Short Dog was on, but people gave him a pass! I think he was drinking something called Sluroc or something! I can’t remember!

Too Short And E-40 Reveal Name Of Supergroup Featuring Ice Cube And Snoop Dogg

Timbaland and Swizz Beatz’ Verzuz concluded 2020 with a monumental battle between Bay Area titans, Too Short and E-40.

The pair went head-to-head in a Verzuz battle which drew over X millions of fans, who watched the rap legends run down some of their biggest hits in a friendly competition.

Timbaland and Swizz spared no expense for Too Short and E-40’s Verzuz, which featured a $500,000 setup complete with two old school rides, which were wheeled into the soundstage in Northern California which hosted the event.

The event started a litte after 8:30 PM, and ran for almost three hours, as the rap legends went endly party tracks like Too Short’s “Freaky Tales,” “The Ghetto,” “On My Level,” “Blow The Whistle” and his classic song “The World Is Filled….” with Notorious B.I.G.

E-40 was just as formidable with his songs, which included his classic “Sprinkle Me,” “Tell Me When To Go” and “IDFWY” featuring Big Sean.

The biggest news to come out of battle came when Too Short revealed the name of the new supergroup featuring E-40, Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg, which is called Mount Westmore.

EXCLUSIVE: BOP Says Kodak Black Was High On Narcotics In Prison; Demand Dismissal Of Lawsuit

Several high-level administrators with the Federal Bureau Of Prisons are pushing back against Kodak Black’s lawsuit claiming he was tortured at the hands of prison guards at the United States Penitentiary Big Sandy in Kentucky.

In September of 2020, Kodak Black filed a lawsuit against Michael Carvajal, Director of BOP, and the maximum-security prison’s Warden, Hector Joyner.

Kodak landed at Big Sandy after he had an altercation with another inmate in October of 2019 when he was housed at a Federal prison in Miami during his pre-trial detention, which resulted in the injury of a correctional officer.

In November of 2019, the rap star was hit with a 46-month prison sentence, after he was found guilty of making a false statement in connection with the acquisition of a firearm.

In February of 2020, Kodak was sent to USP Big Sandy.

Upon his arrival, he said he was subjected to an improper gang beat down perpetrated by Big Sandy prison guards.

Kodak, real name Bill K. Kapri, maintained the beating was vengeance for the injuries he allegedly inflicted on the correctional officer during his fight at the Miami prison in October of 2019.

In a new legal filing, reps with the BOP denied abusing the rapper. They outlined one disturbance on April 29th, 2020, when the rapper became disruptive “apparently under the influence of narcotics.”

The rap star was taken to a lieutenant’s office and ordered to submit to a breathalyzer test, which he refused. A struggle ensued when Kodak allegedly tried to headbutt staffers.

The guards attempted to apply ambulatory restraints, but Kodak managed to break free and started grabbing at a staff member’s face and neck.

He also supposedly spit a red substance on a staff member’s hand.

“Due to Plaintiff’s disruptive behavior, assault on staff, and displaying signs of imminent violence, he was immediately escorted to the Special Housing Unit and placed in four-point restraints,” acting United States Attorney Michael R. Sherwin said.

Kodak’s defiant behavior continued when he refused to appear at a disciplinary hearing in May of 2020.

Kodak was charged with five counts over the April 2020 fight with the guards: refusing a drug/alcohol test, assault with serious injury (5 counts), and threatening bodily harm.

Kodak appealed the incident report from the April 2020 fight with the guards and declared he was the one who was attacked by staff members.

Multiple appeals by Kodak Black were dismissed by the BOP as untimely. His filing also “contained too many continuation pages and raised more than one issue.”

Kodak Black’s lawsuit also claimed his First Amendment rights were violated when he was denied access to a Rabbi after he converted to the Jewish faith.

But prison officials claim Kodak is a member of the Black Hebrew Israelites, who are not recognized as members of the Jewish faith according to BOP documents.

Furthermore, the BOP insisted they told Kodak that all volunteer and non-essential contractor visits were suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In October of 2020, Kodak was transferred out of Big Sandy and sent to USP Thomson, another high-security prison in Illinois.

As a result of the transfer, the BOP is demanding Kodak’s lawsuit be dismissed because defendants “Carvajal and Joyner are entitled to Qualified Immunity,” which shields government officials from being held liable for constitutional violations and excessive force.

Kodak Black is slated to be released in on November 3rd, 2022.

Rick James’ Life To Be Turned Into TV Series

A TV series based on the life of late funk icon Rick James is in development at Universal.

“Super Freak,” which will revolve around James’ plans to launch a comeback in the early 1990s, will be executive produced by the singer’s daughter Ty James.

“We are truly ecstatic about this new project with UCP and extremely excited to work with the writer Randy McKinnon,” Ty said in a statement. “We are confident he can give the fans exactly what they have been waiting on, plus some.

“This will be a magic carpet ride, with ups and downs, joys and pain – a story of perseverance and tenacity, with the music being the greatest navigation system. Get ready for the ride of your lives – the story of James A. Johnson, AKA Rick James!”

Filmmakers are currently on the hunt for an actor to play James in the project.

During his final interview on earth, Rick James gave the website a peek into his comeback, as well as his plans, which were cut short after his sudden death in August of 2004.

Rick was working on his memoir, “Confessions of a Superfreak” and he was flush with at least $40 million in cash thanks to MC Hammer sampling his song “Super Freak” and turning it into the smash single “Can’t Touch This.”

“It was an 80/20 deal; it‘s the largest selling Rap record of all time. We sold like 100 million records…Master P told me, ‘Ricky if I had a fingertip of your talent..’ – I said, ‘n####, you already have $700 million dollars!’…if we made $1.75 we were doing great, that’s why I charged Motown $1 million dollars an hour. I was one of the first blacks to get a million an hour. But that’s because I know that if they steal five copies, they are going to charge you for such and then be part of RIAA. So I said if they are going to f### me, then I am going to make sure that I get paid.”

Big Sean’s Mental Health Is His Number One Priority

Big Sean has learned to “take a break before (he) needs a break” in order to help manage his mental health.

The 32-year-old musician has opened up on his struggle with his mental health and the steps he has taken to help him cope.

He admitted the biggest tip he has learned so far is being able to “pace” himself and take regular breaks before he reaches a point where he’s in dire need of some time off.

“You just have to pace yourself and take a break before you need a break. It gets very real. Especially with a person like me. I live inside my head so much,” Big Sean told People.

“I go over scenarios and I go over two or three things at the same time, and that creates an overwhelming feeling and a lot of anxiety, which leads to depression, which leads to all these things. I had to learn how to pace myself. Not to say I still don’t go through those things, I definitely do. It’s just, now I know how to deal with them.”

Sean also explained he’s learned how to take care of himself in recent months by putting his own health as a “priority” in his life.

He added: “I’m putting myself as a priority and that really, really speaks volumes. When you do that, you start looking better, and you start feeling better and being better in everything you do. So, it’s important.”

And the “Wolves” hitmaker knows how to deal with his mental health now because he can identify what’s wrong with him, which makes it easier to manage.

“I know how to get through them easier and I know what it is (I’m dealing with),” said Sean. “As opposed to before, when I was confused on why I was feeling like that because nobody ever talked to me about it.”
