Jim Jones Fires Back At “Lying” 50 Cent Over Informant Allegations

Jim Jones and 50 Cent are going back and forth online, reigniting their feud after the G-Unit honcho revived his accusations that Capo is a federal informant.

On Thursday (January 9), Jones hopped on Instagram with a throwback photo from the set of his 2007 music video “We Fly High.”

While the image hinted at him being a fashion trendsetter–Jones was wearing Chrome Hearts decades ago–the caption directly fired back at 50 Cent’s latest attack.

“Why u keep on lying why u keep on lying,” he wrote. “lol I’m goin back to sleep.”

To make clear he was responding to 50 Cent, Jim Jones added, “Free Mel matrix till it’s reversed.”

Earlier on Thursday, the “In da Club” hitmaker repeated his allegations that the Dipset rapper was a federal informant. He posted a transcript and audio of a recording played in Tekashi 6ix9ine’s trial of a conversation between Jones discussing the case with now-incarcerated Nine Trey Bloods “godfather” Jamel “Mel Murda” Jones, a.k.a., Mel Matrix.

The back-and-forth began when Jones reacted to a clip of Cam’ron reminding 50 Cent that he once brought Capo on stage to perform with G-Unit at the height of Diplomat’s internal disputes.

“Them n##### be on my dick,” Capo said during a recent interview. “Them n##### ain’t got nothing else to think about but Capo. I did a lot for them n##### in their life, ya heard? Both of them. Pause, though. Get off my dick! It’s only space on there for baby girl. Come on, man. Tugging on my s### like that.”

50 Cent sent a message to Jim Jones while posting the 6ix9ine trial recording.

“Cam is on vacation right now,” he said. “But you wait till he gets back you’re gonna get it.”

EXCLUSIVE: Travis Scott, SZA & Future Accused Of Stealing Platinum Hit From Roc Nation Artist

Travis Scott, SZA and Future have been slapped with a lawsuit accusing the trio of ripping off the song “Telekinesis” from an indie artist named Victory Boyd.

The lawsuit claims Scott SZA and Future lifted key lyrics and melodies from Boyd’s 2019 track “Like the Way It Sounds”—and turned it into a certified Platinum hit.

Victory Boyd, a Roc Nation signee, alleges the original song was shared with Kanye West back in 2019 during a studio session.

West planned to release the music as a song titled “Future Bounce” or “Ultrasound” on his Donda album, but the track was cut from the final release.

Boyd claims she left the track at Kanye’s studio at his ranch in Wyoming, where he played the track for Travis Scott, who started recording his version of the song without permission.

From there, Boyd says Scott brought in SZA and Future to help rework the material into “Telekinesis” from his hit album Utopia.

Boyd claims the lyrics “I can see the future is looking like we level through the sky, I can’t wait to live in glory of eternal paradise…might as well turn up now, He gone pop up unannounced, hear the trumpets, do you like the way it sounds?” were stolen from her track.

The lawsuit further alleges that the infringement didn’t stop with the song’s release.

Despite Boyd refusing to grant permission for her work to be used, the lawsuit contends that luxury watch brand Audemars Piguet incorporated “Telekinesis” into a high-profile advertising campaign in 2023, reaping financial rewards without compensating her.

Boyd is after damages and a full accounting of profits from the track’s release, streams, and live performances.

Jhené Aiko Loses Everything In L.A. Fires: “Starting From Scratch”

Jhené Aiko has revealed her home and everything in it, has been destroyed in the Los Angeles fires.

The singer shared an update on Instagram on Thursday (January 9), revealing that while she and her two children—Noah Hasani, 2, whom she shares with Big Sean, and Namiko Love, 16—are safe, the raging blaze wiped out their home.

“God bless us ALL,” Aiko captioned her post.

“Me and my children’s home is gone,” she wrote. “Burned to the ground with all of our things inside. Lord have mercy Thankful we still have eachother. Starting from scratch. My heart is so heavy.”

Jhené Aiko then turned her thoughts to the countless others affected by the fires ravaging L.A.

“Praying for everyone this morning,” she added. “those who lost their home. those who lost their life’s work, those who lost their life. praying for my city. praying for the wild life and lost pets.”

She concluded, “praying for the world. Let suffering be a gift; a lesson in compassion.”

Over 130,000 residents are under evacuation orders, and several people have lost their lives since the first fire ignited in the Pacific Palisades on Tuesday (January 7).

NBC News states that “authorities said the total number of deaths from the fires are unknown at this time” but confirms at least five fatalities.

Los Angeles has declared a state of emergency in response to the crisis.

Long Beach native Snoop Dogg and Los Angeles-bred rapper The Game are among the West Coast rappers showing their support for those affected by the devastating blaze.

EXCLUSIVE: Diddy Accused Of Making “Sex Slaves” Wear Color-Coded Clothing At Parties

Diddy’s White Parties, long considered the pinnacle of celebrity luxury, are now the focus of a disturbing new claim lodged by a former Go-Go dancer who worked the events.

In a new lawsuit, Adria English accuses Sean “Diddy” Combs of using these events to mask a sinister undercurrent of abuse, claiming a certain dress code signaled women’s status as his sex slaves.

The complaint alleges that women were forced to wear specific white outfits at these lavish gatherings hosted at Diddy’s estates in the Hamptons and Miami.

According to English, these uniforms were not just aesthetic choices but a coded message to guests that the women were available for exploitation.

“She later learned that the uniforms she and other trafficking victims were forced to wear were color-coded to indicate to guests whether a victim was available for sexual exploitation. [Diddy] would choose the uniform and color that girls would wear to indicate to the rest of the partygoers that she was for sale as a sex slave,” English’s lawyer Joel M. Taylor said.

English, recruited to perform as a dancer at the 2004 Labor Day White Party, alleges she was duped into believing the job would jumpstart her music career.

Instead, she claims she was coerced into Diddy’s inner circle under false pretenses.

After her initial participation, she alleges the events escalated into “Freak Off” after-parties, where she and others were drugged and forced into non-consensual acts.

The complaint goes further, accusing Diddy of using violence, threats, and drugging as tools of control.

English claims she was later required to wear black outfits, a grim symbol marking her as a victim who had been previously assaulted.

“[English] was required to wear a black dress to the ‘White Party’ not simply to denote her capacity as an employee, but more sinisterly as a sex-trafficked sex worker who had been drugged and raped while unconscious by multiple guests at a previous party,” according to the new filing.

The latest allegations are part of a growing list of lawsuits and accusations against Diddy, who is detained at the MDC lockup in Brooklyn on RICO and sex trafficking charges.

He is slated to go to trial in May.

English’s case has faced notable challenges, including the sudden departure of her legal team.

Her first set of lawyers withdrew from representation, citing “irreconcilable differences” stemming from disputes over settlement demands and legal strategies, as well as what they described as English’s “undermining behavior” and “tone and lack of respect.”

Diddy has denied all claims and maintains his innocence.

Snoop Dogg, The Game, Xzibit & DJ Quik Among West Coast Rappers Devastated By L.A. Fires

The City of Los Angeles has declared a national emergency as several wildfires ravage the sprawling West Coast metropolis.

The first fire ignited in the Pacific Palisades on Tuesday (January 7) and began making its way down Pacific Coast Highway. Other fires started sprouting up in the Hollywood Hills, causing thousands to flee their homes. At least five fires are burning over 45 square miles, sparked by dry conditions and the Santa Ana winds, causing unprecedented scenes in areas not known for fires—like Hollywood.

The latest blaze, the Sunset Fire, started shortly before 6 p.m. PT in the Hollywood Hills on Wednesday (January 8) and has grown to 60 acres while threatening iconic landmarks. Meanwhile, more than 350,000 energy customers were without power, including 200,000 in L.A. County, the most populous county in the United States.

L.A., of course, is home to many celebrities, major music label hubs and Hollywood executives, and several stars have already lost their houses, including Anna Ferris, Eugene Levy and Billy Crystal.

Social media is exploding with posts about the devastation and the Hip-Hop community has come out in droves to show its support for those in trouble. In many cases, the posts are simply a call-to-action. Long Beach native Snoop Dogg, for example, shared a meme that read, “Pray for L.A.,” while others have included links to various local resources.

Cam’ron and Ma$e shared their sentiments from their joint Instagram account and included a video of the wildfire burning out of control.

“THE #ITISWHATITISTALK FAMILY WANT TO SEND OUR PRAYERS & LOVE TO THE FAMILIES IN #CALIFORNIA IN THIS HORRIFIC & DEVASTATING TIME,” the caption read. “THOSE FIRE’s HAVE DESTROYED OVER 25,000 ACRES, 1000’s OF HOMES & SOME PEOPLE HAVE LOST THEIR LIVES.”

The Game, who grew up in Los Angeles, expressed his sorrow on Instagram as well. He encouraged people to be prepared to evacuate if the time comes and provided resources to stay informed.

“This is just sad,” he wrote. “Los Angeles is really hurting right now. If you are anywhere near fires… please pack what’s necessary & evacuate immediately !!!!!!!! I have many friends, neighbors & people I know that have lost everything. My own home & those around it are in extreme danger as the Santa Monica mountains fires continue to spread & has now even reached the Hollywood hills close to Runyon Canyon.

There are also fires picking up in other heavily mountain areas in surrounding areas. To my friends who are trying to tough it out & stay home hoping it won’t completely come your way, be smart & leave now !!!!!! Below are a few accounts that will keep you well informed…..@losangelesfiredepartment @bigboysneighborhood @djhed @latimes.”

Of course, that is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. Even those who don’t live on the West Coast are concerned about their friends and family who do. Pete Rock is among them, as is Loud Records founder Steve Rifkind, Meek Mill and Fat Joe. Other California residents like DJ Quik, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony’s Bizzy Bone, Yo-Yo and MC Lyte are also stunned by what they’re witnessing and have posted their thoughts, too.

Lil Rod On “The Fall of Diddy:” “Exposing Puffy Means Exposing Them”

A new documentary delving into the life of Sean “Diddy” Combs will see some of his accusers and former employees shed light on the allegations surrounding the incarcerated mogul.

ID and Maxine Productions, the producers behind the bombshell docuseries Quiet on Set, unveiled the trailer for their explosive new documentary on Wednesday (January 8).

The four-part series, titled The Fall of Diddy, is set to air fresh allegations, including from “those coming forward for the first time with deeply disturbing accounts of their encounters with Combs.”

Diddy’s former producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones is among the accusers speaking out in the documentary. He suggested that other alleged abusers in the music industry will also be exposed.

“[There are] a lot of people like Puffy in the music business,” the producer says in the trailer. “Exposing Puffy means exposing them.”

Featuring more than 30 interviews with Diddy’s accusers and former associates, the docuseries details “unheard accounts from survivors and insiders,” documenting Diddy’s alleged decades-long campaign of violence and abuse.  One such person reportedly interviewed described Diddy’s “violence and temper during his college days at Howard University.”

Lil Rod sued the Bad Boy Entertainment founder last February, accusing him of a series of serious offenses, including sexual harassment, drugging, and intimidation, spanning more than a year.

“I have been quiet for 18 years,” one unidentified woman says in the trailer. Another added, “I am absolutely nervous sharing what I’ve seen.”

Other interviewees include alleged victim Thalia Graves who accuses Diddy of violently assaulting her in 2001.  “I always believed that I was the only victim,” she states.

“The Fall of Diddy” will premiere across two nights starting January 27 at 9 p.m. E.T. on ID.

Peakcock Upcoming Documentary – “Diddy: The Making Of A Bad Boy”

Meanwhile, Peacock is also set to air a documentary about the 55-year-old producer and entrepreneur. Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy debuts on January 14.

Diddy has pleaded not guilty to federal charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering, and prostitution-related offenses. He remains in custody following his September arrest, with his trial set for May. Additionally, beyond the criminal charges, Combs is accused by over 100 individuals of involuntary drugging, physical abuse, and sexual assault.

adidas Makes Decisive Move Following Kanye West’s Latest Yeezy Rant

Kanye West reignited his feud with adidas over his Yeezy brand earlier this week, prompting the brand to retaliate.

The controversial rapper slammed the German sportswear giant in an explosive rant on Tuesday (January 7). He accused adidas of attempting to undermine his brand, among other designers.

He also claimed internet search results for “Yeezy” give priority to the Adidas website over his own Yeezy.com site.

“Stop doing this,” he demanded. “Your moves to hold me back Our partnership is done.”

Well, it appears adidas has decided to do something about West’s demands, removing all traces of “Yeezy” from their website. Not only has the brand axed all Yeezy merch, but the name does not appear anywhere on the site, including previous news updates.

Searching “Yeezy’ on the official adidas site directs users to the “Originals” collection. Additionally, all mentions of “Kanye West” have also been removed.

adidas.com

Furthermore, it no longer appears among the top results for internet searches of West’s brand.

While adidas considered writing off roughly $320 million worth of unsold Yeezy shoes after cutting ties with Kanye West following the antisemitism scandal, it ultimately decided not to.

Instead, the company announced it would sell the remaining inventory “at least at cost” in 2024.

Meanwhile, last October, Bjorn Gulden, adidas CEO, announced it had resolved all remaining legal disputes with Kanye West.

“There isn’t any more open issues, and there is no… money going either way,” Gulden explained “And we both move on.”

He added, “There were tensions on many issues, and… when you put the claims on the right side and you put the claims on the left side, both parties said we don’t need to fight anymore and withdrew all the claims.”

50 Cent Hits Back At Jim Jones, Revives “Informant” Allegations

50 Cent is firing back at Jim Jones, reviving “informant” accusations after Capo’s recent remarks about him.

Earlier this week, Jim Jones reacted to 50 Cent and Cam’ron discussing his controversial 2007 performance with G-Unit amid heavy internal tension at Dipset. Fif brought Capo onstage, which Cam took as disloyal.

During his appearance on Cam’s “Talk With Flee” podcast last month, 50 Cent revealed that his decision was deliberately aimed at escalating the discord within Dipset.

50 Cent caught wind of Jim Jones’ reaction and swiftly took to Instagram to troll him, responding with rehashed accusations Jones is a federal informant. He referenced the Dipset MC’s mention in Tekashi 6ix9ine’s 2019 case.

A recording was played during the trial, allegedly of Jones saying, “[Tekashi] not a gang member no more. He was never a gang member. They going to have to violate shorty because shorty is on some b#######.”

50 Cent doubled down with the snitching claims in the caption.

“LOL,” he wrote. “INDIVIDUAL 1 calling the shots out here, I know you working so please don’t say gangster s### to me INDIVIDUAL 1 !”

Jim Jones Addresses 50 Cent & Cam’ron

For context, Jim Jones addressed the G-Unit performance during his new interview with Justin Laboy, with some harsh words for Cam’ron and 50 Cent.

“Them n##### be on my dick,” Capo said. “Them n##### ain’t got nothing else to think about but Capo. I did a lot for them n##### in their life, ya heard? Both of them. Pause, though. Get off my dick! It’s only space on there for baby girl. Come on, man. Tugging on my s### like that.”

Furthermore, Jones reacted to Cam’s claim that he was trying to restore peace at Dipset at the time of the G-Unit performance.

“[Cam] couldn’t pull nothing together,” Jones told Laboy, insisting “He couldn’t do nothing with me. He couldn’t tell me nothing, n####.”

He added, “Let’s not get this s### twisted. Nobody could tell me nothing. I was my own boss… I did what I wanted to do.”

Megan Thee Stallion’s Fans Drag Torrey Craig’s Alleged Ex Amid Podcast Shade

Megan Thee Stallion has been making waves with her boo, NBA star Torrey Craig, and has ruffled the feathers of an apparent ex-girlfriend and her pals who didn’t think the rapper was his “type.”

A recently resurfaced slip from the “3 Girls 1 Kitchen,” has been making the rounds. The podcast features Olivia Davis who claims she’s Craig’s ex, and her two friends former adult star Lana Rhoades and OnlyFans model Alexa Adams.

The hosts apparently recorded shortly after Megan debuted her romance with Craig in a sweet couple’s challenge TikTok video, last year.

A post shared by AllHipHop (@allhiphopcom)

“Where do I start?” Davis begins, before butchering the Houston rapper’s name. “Do I start with the one where my ex is dating the Magan Thee Stallion? Mag Thee Stallion? What’s her name?”

Davis continues, “I can’t even get mad, though ‘cause it’s like, damn, that’s kind of a flex. I can’t even be mad at that all.”

However, Rhoades interrupts, questioning how Torrey Craig could be attracted to Megan Thee Stallion and Lana Rhoades.

“I just wonder what his type is,” she states. “Because you guys dated, then he was talking to other girls when he was talking to you.

Rhodes then motions to Davis and Adams, adding, “they all look like you guys,” implying Craig’s “type” is blonde white women.

Davis agrees, adding, “Yeah they all looked very similar.”

Davis attempted to clear things up, going on to say she believes men merely go for “pretty girls.” However, the damage was done. Fans were furious Davis mispronounced Megan’s name and resented the implication Craig isn’t attracted to Black women.

Megan Thee Stallion Fans Rally

The YouTube comment section was littered with angry responses from Megan Thee Stallion fans, accusing Davis and her pals of being racist and committing a “micro-aggression.”

“You explain that you are relating his type ‘blondes’” one person replied. “However , if Megan was to wear a blonde wig, you 100% know you would have still had the question of who his type really is. It was the confusion as you believe he likes blonde white girls vs any other person.”

“Y’all hate when black men don’t want you anymore,” another person stated. “You THINK you’re the preference babe, you’re easy. Be real with yourself.”

A third replied, “I find it real weird how yall are questioning if a BLACK MEN find BLACK WOMEN attractive when he came out of a BLACK WOMEN like HOE IS YOU COOL??? And then to play like yall didn’t know who she was but was on insta before Torrey even got with her talking about some hot girl summer and dancing to savage and s### HOE PLEASE.”

Neither Megan thee Stallion nor Torrey Craig have publicly commented on their relationship. However, the Chicago Bulls player recently reacted to another woman who crawled out of the woodwork amid the attention surrounding his new romance.

Lil Tjay Alleges Offset’s Gambling Addiction Behind $10K Casino Loan Beef: “He Was Panicking”

Lil Tjay is setting the record straight on his beef with Offset after exposing an alleged DMs where he threatened the former Migos rapper over a $10,000 debt.

On Wednesday night (January 8) Tjay addressed the situation during a Twitch stream.

“Why I diss Offset? Offset broke.” he said, reading a comment in the live chat. “I’ll tell y’all a true story, I seen the n#### in the casino. He was popped, he was panicking. He was asking random people for cash apps, he was broke.”

Tjay continued saying Offset was contacting people for loans but getting no response.

“I don’t know why but nobody was answering his phone call,” he added. “He must got a gambling addiction.”

According to Lil Tjay, he offered $5,000 as Offset confirmed “he was waiting for bread.”

Tjay says Offset then ran straight to the casino where he managed to gather another $3,000, including $1,000 “from a random lady.”

The Bronx rapper says he didn’t care about the first $5,000, stating, “That’s Offset. I’m good on my money. I’m not worries about this n####, I got mad bread.”

However, Lil Tjay claims he then gave Offset another $5,000 but hasn’t seen a dime in return.

“I see like 13 bands in loans,” he explained. “I don’t know who got paid back that day, you feel me. Word to my mother, this n####’s ducked me for so long, boy. Mind you, I’m 23 and this is ‘raindrop, drop-top,’ Cardi B husband.”

Lil TJays Vows To “Smack” Offset

Lil Tjay then referenced his DM exchange with Offset, explaining the threats

“I’m only talking crazy because he was talking crazy,” he added. “Like what? He want to talk crazy to me over my bread.”

He also implied he would have “beat him up on his birthday,” but is too kind-hearted.

“But you know what it is, I’m, deadass a good type of n####,” he said. “I was too sturdy, you heard. It was like I couldn’t even do that to him.”

Whether Offset is broke, as Lil Tjay claims, is certainly up for debate. As a member of a hugely commercially successful rap group, Offset boasts numerous multi-platinum hits.

Alongside his accomplishments with Migos, he’s carved out a thriving solo career and doesn’t appear to be struggling financially. In fact, he reportedly whisked a group—including his rumored model girlfriend—away for a lavish New Year’s celebration in Dubai

TDE Rapper Ray Vaughn Goes After Joey Bada$$ Over Kendrick Lamar “GNX” Track

West Coast rapper Ray Vaughn has responded to Joey Bada$$ over his recent slights to the region embedded within his “The Ruler’s Back” freestyle.

On Wednesday (January 8) the TDE signee shared his volatile new release “Crashout Heritage” in which he fired off direct shots at a number of targets including Tory Lanez and well known Drake stan Mal from the New Rory & Mal podcast and formerly the Joe Budden network. However, his most-wanted bounty appeared to be none other than Joey Bada$$ himself.

Ray tagged Joey in a tweet featuring a clip of the visual for the track, during which he degrades the East Coast rapper with a reference effectively son’ing him for Boosie Badazz. Not to mention, he does so over the thoughtful GNX album cut “The Heart Pt. 6” which captures Kendrick Lamar at one of his most vulnerable points publicly since Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.

“2025 no sneak dissin, only crashouts,” Ray wrote in the tweet.

A post shared by AllHipHop (@allhiphopcom)

As for the diss itself, Ray raps, “What’s with the sneak dissin’? Takin’ shots at us, then hide the Uzi/ ‘Cause the only bada** the world was recognizin’ is Boosie.”

He continues in the bar directly after, “Please don’t get confused with shootin’ the movies, we really shootin’.”

In a post AllHipHop shared featuring Ray’s bars gunning for Joey, users flooded the comments section with their eager hopes for a battle between the two rappers.

“Yea! This is a great battle. Good match up!” one user wrote in a remark, to which another added, “lol I love Hip-Hop.”

Another user shared their theory that instances like this are what empower superstar artists to levels never seen before, comparing the lore of Kendrick to that of prime JAY-Z.

“Dot really looking like King right now…” the user wrote in part. “This reminds me of when you went at Jay unless you were considered a great….you had to deal with Bleek, Beans, etc. So until you get your pen and name up…those shots ain’t landing. That’s how you stay King for a while too.”

Other users were skeptical, voicing their doubts that a rising artist such as Ray could cut the mustard when it comes to matching up with a babyface veteran such as Joey.

“This is dope! However.. Joey will clean this n#### up!” one user exclaimed.

“Joey flow is much harder then this who is this dude,” another user added, to which a user followed up with, “The whole TDE has to mention somebody name to get motion.

SIGNS: Louisiana’s Youngest Mayor Arrested In Connection To Drug Trafficking Ring

Tyrin Truong, the youngest mayor in Bogalusa’s history, is now facing the fight of his life after being arrested Tuesday (January 7) for his role in an alleged drug trafficking ring.

The 25-year-old mayor is accused of running a network that moved opioids, marijuana and MDMA — and the timing couldn’t be worse. His arrest comes exactly two years after he was sworn into office. The scandal has rocked the small Louisiana town, where Truong was supposed to be a rising star in local politics.

Authorities say Truong didn’t just stop at drugs; he allegedly used public funds to rent an Airbnb during a mayor’s conference in Atlanta, where he organized “entertainment with a prostitute.”

Truong, who was elected to office at just 23 and tied the record for the state’s youngest mayot, had big plans for Bogalusa — a struggling city of about 10,000 near the Alabama border. But those dreams are now in tatters, with the mayor’s past catching up to him in a big way. Northshore District Attorney Collin Sims didn’t mince words when he addressed the case. “This conduct is not going to be tolerated,” he said.

“The citizens of Bogalusa deserve better and we’re not finished. We’re just getting started.”

When Truong took office in January 2023, he made headlines as the city’s youngest-ever mayor. But his leadership was quickly overshadowed by controversy. Just months after he took the job, he demanded the resignation of the city’s police chief after a tragic death in custody and called for more law enforcement patrols. He even aimed for higher office, running unsuccessfully for chair of the state’s Democratic Party.

However, it wasn’t long before cracks began to show in his political career. Last July, the state’s Legislative Auditor’s Office accused him of making improper payments to employees and signing illegal contracts with vendors. Also, his half-brother was arrested in 2023 for a fatal shooting at a high school basketball game. Truong brushed off the incident, telling a local news station, “We all have family members doing things we are not proud of.”

Truong isn’t the only mayor to get caught up in scandal recently. Across the U.S., mayors have found themselves in hot water over everything from corruption to criminal activity. In Chicago, Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s controversial leadership style and ethics investigations made headlines, while former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio faced allegations of misuse of campaign funds.

And let’s not forget about former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, who’s currently serving a 28-year prison sentence for bribery, extortion and other charges. Looks like Bogalusa’s young leader is just the latest in a growing list of mayors whose actions are far from the public trust.

Fierce Wildfires Destroy L.A., Derailing Major Hollywood Productions & Displacing Thousands

Wildfires raging across Los Angeles have forced film and television productions to slam the brakes as California reels from a declared state of emergency.

The flames, which erupted Tuesday (January 7), have spread through several neighborhoods, prompting safety concerns and disrupting the city’s entertainment engine.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department requested a halt to filming in vulnerable areas as crews worked tirelessly to contain blazes in the Palisades, Eaton Canyon, and Hurst Ranch regions.

As the smoke thickened, FilmLA, the organization that manages permits, announced the immediate suspension of filming approvals in Altadena, La Crescenta, La Cañada Flintridge and parts of unincorporated Pasadena.

High-profile productions were not spared. Disney pulled the plug on shooting for its iconic medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy” and season two of “Doctor Odyssey.”

Late-night stalwart Jimmy Kimmel Live also temporarily dimmed its lights amid the chaos. NBCUniversal joined the exodus, pausing work on comedies like Hacks, Loot, and Ted, Suits: L.A., and Happy’s Place.

However, their movie projects are proceeding as scheduled for now.

CBS halted filming entirely for titles like After Midnight, Poppa’s House, The Neighborhood and several incarnations of the NCIS franchise.

Amazon’s ambitious post-apocalyptic drama Fallout also faced setbacks, with plans to film season two in the Santa Clarita area derailed this week due to the wildfire’s proximity.

The series, which imagines a scorched Earth, now finds art imitating life far too closely.

California Governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency in response to the disaster, unlocking much-needed resources to combat the infernos.

Fire crews have been staged at explosive hotspots around the city, while aerial tankers and ground teams continue to battle flames propelled by dry winds and unrelenting conditions.

The entertainment industry, often an unstoppable force in Los Angeles, has found itself at the mercy of nature in a dramatic reminder of the region’s vulnerability.

While no injuries on set were reported, the escalating fires have deepened concerns over the growing frequency and intensity of natural disasters in California, many of which experts link to climate change.

Lil Baby Reveals Young Thug’s Jail Plot For His & Future’s Collaborative Album

Lil Baby has plans to flood his fanbase with a ton of new music in 2025 and apparently Future and Young Thug are intertwined with his mission.

On Wednesday (January 8), the Atlanta rapper appeared in a new episode of Spotify’s A Day In The Life series, giving fans an exclusive behind the scenes look at the hectic pace of his everyday life.

During a portion of the video while getting a re-twist, WHAM casually dropped a bombshell by sharing an intriguing anecdote with his stylist about Young Thug’s ambitious attempt to engineer a full-blown collaborative album between him and Future.

According to Lil Baby, the idea came directly from Thug while he was still behind bars, fighting the YSL RICO case.

“Me and Future was working on a joint tape, you know what I’m saying,” Lil Baby revealed. “We damn near got the whole tape done.”

Lil Baby went on to recount the exact moment Young Thug reached out to him to set the whole play up off of just one call.

“Now Slime came home, you know, he ain’t going for that,” he said. “He like, ‘Sh*t!?’, you feel me? Because it’s actually like Thug’s idea. Like, he called me when he was in jail. He like, ‘Hey, call Pluto, bro. I want y’all to do a tape together.’”

He went on to explain that Young Thug, who he still affectionately refers to as Slime, has since amended the grand plans he had for the duo since he came home last October.

“It’s like a completely Thug idea,” he said. “Like, ‘Bro, you and Pluto ain’t drop a tape together. He damn done named the tape and everything. Like this before he got out,” Baby said. “But then now he got out, you know, ‘Sh*t, I’m on the tape, man’.”

Lil Baby concluded the clip by revealing he and Thug have already created about 10 songs since he was released last year and said he’s a “lab rat” who stays in the studio.

“We might got something big in store on that, you know what I’m saying?” he said. “I don’t know exactly, but it’s gonna be a lot of inner works.”

Fat Joe Angling For Collaboration With Barack Obama

Despite landing A-list figures on his STARZ chat show Fat Joe Talks, one dream guest remains elusive for Bronx rapper Fat Joe —former U.S. President Barack Obama.

The rapper-TV host revealed he’s been trying to secure an interview with Obama since his historic win in 2008.

“I know what it felt like for me when he did his acceptance speech,” Fat Joe told Billboard, reminiscing about the night Obama addressed the sea of supporters in Chicago’s Grant Park.

“The first time he won, he did that speech in Chicago. It was like millions and millions of people out there. I felt so proud. I could not believe it.”

But Fat Joe’s ambitions stretch beyond music – he also wants to win a Grammy – and he credits Killer Mike for putting a battery in his back.

During the interview, Fat Joe revealed Killer Mike’s Grammy-winning success by pulling him out of retirement and back into the Hip-Hop spotlight after 15 years.

The rap legend, 54, dropped his first solo album in over a decade, The World Changed On Me, in mid-December, marking a return he didn’t think was in his future.

The Bronx rapper explained that Killer Mike’s three Grammy wins earlier this year for his album Michael reignited his creativity. Seeing the Run the Jewels emcee triumph inspired Joe to return to the studio.

“He’s the guy who inspired,” Joe said, lauding Killer Mike. “I retired. I was gone. I had an infamous phone call with Eminem, where he was trying to talk me into not retiring. ‘Joe, we need you. You’re one of us.’ I was super done, but I got back outside because of Killer Mike. The man won that Grammy.”

Fat Joe’s comeback album includes collaborations with Babyface and Anitta, offering a mix of genres.

The “Lean Back” hitmaker admitted he has high hopes for the project and is aiming for award recognition.

“I was like, ‘Yo. It’s possible. Let’s get back in the kitchen and cook.’ So, he inspired me to come out of retirement,” Fat Joe said.

Fight Erupts Over Damon Dash Jewelry & Companies He Says He Doesn’t Own

Damon Dash’s already tangled financial affairs escalated further this week as accusations of dishonesty over his remaining assets emerged in his ongoing legal battles.

The fiery allegations surfaced after Dash sold his one-third share of Roc-A-Fella Records for $1 million, a move that was part of efforts to address debts exceeding $8 million.

Dash still owes filmmaker Josh Webber an $823,284.71 judgment related to allegations of contractual breaches and defamation tied to their collaboration on the film Dear Frank.

Despite the auction of Dash’s ownership in Roc-A-Fella, Webber remains a creditor in line for repayment, as much of the proceeds were allocated to higher-priority debts, including Dash’s substantial tax liabilities.

His legal nemesis, Christopher Brown, represents filmmaker Josh Webber and Muddy Water Pictures. They claim Dash has been concealing major assets from creditors, including jewelry and intellectual property.

“Dash is simply attempting to avoid the transfer of the assets and is willing to lie to do it,” Brown said.

Brown further contended that Dash’s explanations don’t hold weight.

Dash’s denials about ownership are central to the accusations, including luxury jewelry prominently featured in his social media posts.

The pieces, such as custom gold necklaces bearing his monikers “Dame” and “Dusko Poppington,” are reportedly valued at high six-figure sums.

Dash insisted the jewelry belongs to others, but Brown argued those assertions are questionable, saying, “If Dash does not own the jewelry that he wears every day… there should be no issue with him proving who does.”

For further evidence, Brown dug up Dash’s 2019 and 2021 tax filings showcasing ownership stakes in businesses he has previously denied involvement with, including Lebanon Improvements LLC and 1996 Songs LLC.

Adding to the scrutiny, former business associate James DuBose provided an affidavit claiming Dash maintains rights to the film Honor Up via his company, Poppington LLC—a direct contradiction to Dash’s statements disavowing control over certain copyrights.

Dash’s legal team hit back, dismissing the claims as a “public harassment campaign” to tarnish his reputation.

Dash’s attorneys argued Brown and Weber are attempting to liquidate assets that he co-owns, such as copyrights related to Honor Up, and noted that tax authorities rank higher on the list of creditors seeking compensation from Dash’s remaining resources.

Still, the stakes remain perilously high for Damon Dash as the court considers whether properties tied to his company Poppington LLC and additional copyrights, including works like We Went to… China and Welcome to Blackroc, will end up on the auction block to satisfy debts.

SZA Lobbies For Collaborative Album With “Genius” Kendrick Lamar

SZA appears to be as enthusiastic about the possibility of crafting a collab album with Kendrick Lamar as she is about promoting her upcoming film project with Keke Palmer.

During a recent appearance on Sherri Shepard’s daytime talkshow, the TDE vocalist spoke to the actress/host about her work with Palmer for their film, One Of Them Days, and her SOS deluxe album LANA.

The conversation took a major shift when Shepard began mentioning the chart-topping singer’s collaborations with Lamar, including “Babylon,” “Doves In The Wind” and their latest joint effort, “30 For 30.”

SZA didn’t hold back her admiration for Lamar, calling him a “genius” and perking up when asked if the two would ever consider teaming up for an entire project.

“I would love that,” SZA quipped. “I think that would be amazing.”

SZA delved deeper into what makes Lamar’s artistry so unique, highlighting his enigmatic nature as a defining trait.

“Part of his genius is him being so elusive and so mysterious,” she explained. “I don’t know what’s going on as much as you don’t know what’s going on.”

She described the almost cryptic process of working with him, recounting moments of surprise during their creative sessions. In the process, she revealed just how secretive Lamar was, even with his own collaborators, while crafting his surprise GNX album last year.

“When [songs like] ‘Luther’ came out, I said, ‘Okay, that’s the vocals we’re using, period,’ and same with ‘Gloria’.”

For SZA, these unexpected moments of brilliance are a testament to Lamar’s unparalleled skill. What’s more, his influence seems to be extending beyond the music itself. SZA shared how working with him has helped shape her current creative journey, which she described as her “fumbling” era.

“He’s a huge part of my fumbling and finding era because I’m just trusting all of his expertise,” she admitted. “Being thrust into these moments and the spotlight and saying yes—he’s so good at saying yes, but staying grounded. So I’m just like, teach me, sensei, what you know.”

As fans eagerly await any updates on a potential joint album, they continue to boost the success of SZA and Kendrick Lamar’s “30 For 30.” The track has been a commercial triumph, debuting at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and amassing more than 50 million on-demand streams in its first week.

The single has also climbed to the top of the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, while dominating playlists and racking up millions of views on YouTube. With numbers like these, the duo’s synergy is undeniable and the anticipation for what’s next is at an all-time high — given SZA only has two more albums left before she completes her deal with TDE.

Exploring Hip-Hop’s Relationship with Mental Health

Hip-Hop has long been a platform for artists to express their struggles, triumphs and deepest emotions. From its earliest days, lyrics and beats have carried messages of resilience and pain and offered listeners both a connection to the artist’s experience and source of hope. Mental health has become an increasingly prominent theme in the genre, shedding light on issues that were once stigmatized in many communities.

The journey of Hip-Hop’s connection to mental health is similar to how people navigate relationships and identity, such as those seen on online dating platforms for Moldovan brides, where unique traditions and modern challenges intersect. In both cases, there’s a shared exploration of struggles, vulnerability, and resilience that reflects the human experience.

A History of Struggle & Expression

Hip-Hop’s roots are deeply connected to marginalized communities that used the genre as a means of expression. Early Hip-Hop often spoke about systemic oppression, poverty, and violence, which were central to the lives of many of its creators.

These struggles naturally gave rise to discussions about mental health, even if not explicitly labeled as such. Songs about stress, trauma and survival became common as artists used their music to process and communicate their experiences.

For example, tracks like 2Pac’s “So Many Tears” and DMX’s “Slippin” highlight personal battles with inner demons and pain. Each song resonated with listeners because they articulated emotions and challenges that many people faced but couldn’t put into words.

Why Hip-Hop Matters in Mental Health Discussions

One of the most powerful aspects of Hip-Hop’s engagement with mental well-being is its ability to break down stigma. In many cultures, especially those represented in Hip-Hop, discussing mental health was once seen as a sign of weakness. Artists who share their struggles help normalize these conversations, which makes it easier for fans to seek help.

Today, rappers such as Kid Cudi and Logic have brought the topic to the forefront. Logic’s song “1-800-273-8255,” named after the suicide prevention hotline, directly addressed the issue of suicidal thoughts. The track became a cultural phenomenon, sparked widespread discussions about mental health and encouraged people to reach out for support.

How Hip-Hop Reflects Mental Health Themes

  1. Depression: Artists often describe feelings of hopelessness, isolation and despair.
  2. Anxiety: Lyrics frequently highlight the pressures of fame, relationships and personal expectations.
  3. Addiction: Substance abuse is a recurring theme, often linked to coping mechanisms for pain.
  4. Trauma: Childhood experiences, violence and systemic issues feature heavily in Hip-Hop narratives.
  5. Healing: Some songs emphasize overcoming struggles and finding strength in vulnerability.

The Role of Vulnerability

Vulnerability is a cornerstone of hip-hop’s relationship with mental health. Opening up about their inner struggles helps artists create a sense of authenticity that resonates deeply with fans. Kendrick Lamar’s album DAMN. is a prime example, as it explores themes of guilt, self-doubt and redemption. His honesty makes the music relatable and fosters empathy and connection among listeners.

The Impact on Fans

Empowered Listeners

Fans often describe Hip-Hop as a lifeline during difficult times. Songs that address mental health provide a sense of validation and understanding for listeners who may feel isolated. Hearing their favorite artists talk about similar struggles reminds fans that they are not alone.

For some, Hip-Hop becomes a form of therapy. Lyrics that detail coping mechanisms or highlight the importance of self-care can inspire fans to take action in their own lives. The accessibility of music as a medium allows these messages to reach people who might not otherwise engage with mental health resources.

New Conversations

Hip-Hop’s engagement with mental health has also created a ripple effect that encourages broader discussions in society. Social media platforms have amplified these conversations and allowed fans to connect, share their experiences and advocate for change. Addressing mental health allows Hip-Hop artists to dismantle taboos and fosters a culture of openness.

Challenges in the Industry

The pressure to maintain an image, constant touring, and the demands of fame can take a toll on artists. The tragic deaths of Juice WRLD and Mac Miller highlight the urgent need for better mental health support and drug addiction counseling within the music industry.

Record labels and management teams must prioritize the well-being of their artists. Providing access to therapists, encouraging breaks and creating supportive environments can help reduce the mental health challenges associated with the music business.

A List of Hip-Hop Songs That Address Mental Health

Hip-hop has long been a platform for expressing struggles with mental health, from addressing depression and anxiety to breaking down societal stigmas. Artists like Logic and Kid Cudi have brought these issues to the forefront, helping fans feel empowered and understood.
  1. “1-800-273-8255” by Logic: Focuses on suicide prevention and hope.
  2. “Pursuit of Happiness” by Kid Cudi: Explores anxiety and the search for fulfillment.
  3. “Sing About Me, I’m Dying of Thirst” by Kendrick Lamar: Addresses mortality and self-reflection.
  4. “Suicidal Thoughts” by The Notorious B.I.G.: A raw depiction of depression.
  5. “Ultralight Beam” by Kanye West: A song about faith and healing.
  6. “XO TOUR Llif3” by Lil Uzi Vert: Explores heartbreak and emotional turmoil.
  7. “Swimming” by Mac Miller: A reflection on personal growth and struggles.
  8. “Smile” by JAY-Z: Discusses family and resilience.
  9. “Fear” by Kendrick Lamar: Explores anxiety and self-doubt.
  10. “Good News” by Mac Miller: A poignant look at finding peace.

Ways the Hip-Hop Industry Can Support Mental Health

Labels can offer access to therapists and mental health professionals to provide necessary resources and encourage artists to take breaks and prioritize their well-being. Music and platforms can be powerful tools for spreading awareness about mental health, which allows them to educate audiences a key step forward.

Sharing success stories of recovery helps normalize seeking help and plays a vital role in reducing stigma. Additionally, supportive environments within the music community are crucial for creating safe spaces where individuals feel understood and valued.

Conclusion

Hip-Hop’s relationship with mental health is a testament to the genre’s ability to evolve and reflect real-life struggles. Addressing these themes allows hip-hop artists to open up important conversations and provide solace to countless fans.

The industry has the potential to become a leader in advocating for mental health awareness and support. Embracing vulnerability and prioritizing well-being helps Hip-Hop to inspire positive change within its community and beyond. The connection between music and mental health will always be powerful, which can remind listeners of the healing strength art can provide.

Jim Jones Says Ma$e’s Treatment Of Cam’ron Sparked Their Feud

Jim Jones is opening up about his relationship with Cam’ron and Ma$e, discussing the reasons for the longstanding issues.

Capo appeared on the debut episode of Justin Laboy’s relaunched show “#Respectfully.” During the wide-ranging interview, Jones discussed his past decades-long feud with his fellow Dipset affiliate. He also addressed the tension with Cam’s “It Is What It Is” podcast co-host.

“It started with Ma$e. He didn’t do the right thing,” Jones explained. “I watched Ma$e s### on Cam and everybody around him. Like all the time.”

He continued, “I was there the whole time but I was Cam’s man, ya heard. Cam and Ma$e were so-called best friends grew up together …I was there for everything that’s one thing that people can’t never say is that I was there for every single thing.”

Jim Jones then explained the root of his issues with Ma$e.

“Cam enemies were my enemies,” he stated. “Anybody Cam didn’t like, I didn’t like. And I already see how [Ma$e] was handling Cam, so I definitely didn’t like him, ya dig. And then I seen how much love Cam had for him and how Cam was jumping out the window for him, which a friend should.”

According to Jim Jones, Cam’ron tried to ensure that “Ma$e stayed as safe as possible,” amid the tension. “But Ma$e had got that money and lost his muthafuckin mind, as he’s supposed to.”

Jim Jones On Cam & Ma$e’s Podcast

Nonetheless, Jim Jones isn’t holding any grudges and wishes Cam’ron and Ma$e nothing but success with their podcast, although he’s surprised the duo never mention their past issues on the show.

“But kudos to them man,” he added. “They got a dope show. Who am I to hate on what they got going on? Man, I hope they make a trillion dollars.”

While Jones mended his rift with Cam’ron in 2022, he had previously stated he had no desire to patch things up with Ma$e.

Michael Jackson’s Only Daughter Reveals Secret Heroin & Alcohol Battle At 5 Years Clean

Paris Jackson is celebrating a major milestone as she revealed her secret addiction battles with heroin and alcohol in a candid social media post.

On Tuesday (January 7) the musician took to Instagram with a video montage that begins with a close-up of her dilated pupils. The video shows Jackson drinking, smoking and partying with friends and features clips of her looking distraught.

However, it quickly transitions to footage from Jackson’s sober life with images of recovery tokens and videos of her looking happy and healthy while enjoying life’s simple pleasures.

“hi, i’m pk and i’m an alcoholic and a heroin addict,” Jackson began her heartfelt caption. “today marks 5 years clean & sober from all drugs and alcohol. to say that i’m thankful would be a poor euphemism. gratitude hardly scratches the surface. it’s because i’m sober that i get to smile today.”
