The NYC rapper fired off a series of tweets sharing her condolences and warning artists they exist “in a world full of predators.”
“After Pop Smoke there’s no way we as rappers or our loved ones are still posting locations to our whereabouts. To show waffles & some fried chicken????! He was such a pleasure to work with. Condolences to his mom & family. This makes me feel so sick.”
Nicki Minaj spoke after news broke that PnB Rock’s girlfriend shared the location of a restaurant where she and the rapper were having lunch on her Instagram Story. After receiving some backlash, Nicki doubled down on her previous remarks.
“Yup. Ima say what I want. As a RAPPER & as a MOTHER,” she continued. “I know 1st hand how these guys feel coming from the streets then being able to provide for their moms. My heart is hurting for the MOTHERS OF THESE KIDS that tried to make something better of their lives!!! LETS EDUCATE ASAP!!!”
“The ppl around these rappers gain so much,” Nicki Minaj added. “It’s time to start really reminding them over & over!!! At least TRY to put your foot down if you CARE! Tell them!!! You’re not loved like you think you are!!! You’re prey!!!! In a world full of predators!!!! What’s not clicking???!!!
PnB Rock – Fendi feat. Nicki Minaj & Murda Beatz
Nicki Minaj defended her right to discuss her former collaborator’s murder, claiming her comments could save lives.
“Y’all r not the ones that be bawling crying after you just worked with or just spoke to ONE OF YOUR OWN!!!!! I BELONG TO THIS S###. IMA FKNG SPEAK ON IT!!!! If it gets attention from y’all being ignorant than so be it!!! At least it’ll save lives. FOH.” She added, “And I truly do not care who’s ever mad.”
The series, which sees the singer audition a group of women for the chance to be a Big Grrrl, ended the four-year streak of RuPaul’s Drag Race in the Outstanding Competition Program category. Lizzo became emotional onstage while delivering her heartfelt acceptance speech.
“I wanna say thank you to the Emmys and the Emmys voters, first of all. I’m very emotional,” Lizzo began tearfully. “The trophy is nice, but my emotion is for these people who are on this stage with me, the stories that they shared, they’re not that unique; they just don’t get the platform. Telling stories.”
Lizzo also urged viewers to continue telling stories like hers and those of the Big Grrrls.
“Let’s just tell more stories. When I was a little girl, all I wanted to see was me in the media. Someone fat like me, Black like me, beautiful like me. If I could go back and tell little Lizzo something, I’d be like, ‘You’re gonna see that person but b#### it’s gonna have to be you.’ Where are my big girls? Are they here? Come, come,” Lizzo yelled, pointing to her co-stars in the audience.
“One year ago, one year ago, these women were filming this television show that would change their lives forever. They are Emmy-award winning superstars who are going on a world tour. Make some noise for my big girls. I love you guys so much. Daddy, I love you, oh my God. God bless y’all. This is for the big girls. L-I-Z-Z-O-B-I-G-G-G-R-L-S, we the best! Ay! Thank you so much.” Watch her moving speech below.
Meanwhile, in June, Lizzo revealed she already received “the greatest award anyone can ever hope for.”
Speaking to Variety in June, she said, “ I’ve never really felt entitled to accolades or awards. My dream with music wasn’t to make a million dollars and win a Grammy. It was like, ‘I want to write a song that the whole world sings back at me.’ [With] ‘Watch Out for the Big Grrrls,’ I wanted to change the lives of the girls on my show, and my own life, and the lives of the people who watched it. So many people have watched and pointedly decided to speak to themselves better. To listen to and love their bodies. That is the greatest award anyone can ever hope for.”
PnB Rock, whose real name was Rakim Hasheem Allen, was eating at the South Los Angeles restaurant with his girlfriend, Stephanie Sibounheuang. The L.A. Times reports Los Angeles police Capt. Kelly Muniz confirmed the rapper was shot during a robbery. The attacker was allegedly trying to steal jewelry.
The rapper was rushed to a hospital but eventually pronounced dead. He was 30.
Many on social media condemned Sibounheuang after she posted a location-tagged photo. She has since deleted the post. However, some believe whoever killed PnB Rock discovered his location from his girlfriend’s post despite there being no evidence of this.
Cardi B came out to defend Sibounheuang, blasting those blaming her for his death as “irresponsible and inconsiderate.”
“I highly doubt nikkas was looking at PMB’s babymom IG,” Cardi B tweeted. “He was in a bad location and people stay outside plotting. It’s very irresponsible and inconsiderate to blame her for something so tragic. We should be sending nothing but love to her and his family at this time.”

DJ Akademiks also shared his thoughts on those blaming anybody other than the attacker.
“A lot of ppl hurt over the passing of PNB Rock.. everyone passing blame to everyone but the n#### who actually killed him……. the reason why he got killed is because some bum ass n#### decided to try to rob him and take his life. Everything else is extra.”

PnB Rock died following a shooting in Los Angeles on Monday (September 12).
The former Atlantic Records artist was shot during a robbery at Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles. He was eating with his girlfriend Stephanie Sibounheuang at the restaurant.
Los Angles police Capt. Kelly Muniz said the shooting took place at 1:15 p.m. local time. The attacker was allegedly trying to steal jewelry.
“He shot the victim and ran out the side door to a getaway car and then fled the parking lot,” Muniz told the Los Angeles Times.
PnB Rock, whose real name was Rakim Hasheem Allen, was rushed to a hospital but eventually pronounced dead. He was 30.
The Philadelphia native, known for his melodic style, initially gained attention with his RnB mixtape series. He signed with Atlantic Records in 2015.
PnB Rock’s breakthrough single “Selfish” dropped in 2016. It was his first song to chart on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 51 in 2017. It remains the highest-charting solo track of his career.
“Selfish” was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America in 2017. The single appeared on his GTTM: Goin Thru the Motions project, which dropped that same year.
GTTM: Goin Thru the Motions became PnB Rock’s first release to crack the Billboard 200. The gold-selling tape peaked at No. 28.
He also released his debut album Catch These Vibes in 2017. It debuted at No. 17 on the Billboard 200.
TrapStar Turnt PopStar, PnB Rock’s sophomore studio LP, arrived in 2019. It debuted at No. 4, earning him the first Top 10 album of his career.
PnB Rock expressed frustration with Atlantic Records in 2021. He left the label after dropping SoundCloud Daze this past January.
Earlier this month, the rapper/singer delivered a new single titled “Luv Me Again.” He released the song independently through New Lane Entertainment.
The 305 is Live, it’s a Bad B*tch Renaissance, there’s “Nann Badder” and it’s certainly a time to “Seduce & Scheme” with the success of HBO Max’s fan-favorite show Rap Sh*t and now with the release of the show’s ‘Rap Sh*t: Soundtrack.’
On Wednesday, August 24, 2022 Raedio celebrated the ‘Rap Sh*t:Soundtrack’ in Los Angeles with an intimate “Friends and Family” event with Issa Rae, the show’s cast members and the Raedio family.
The night featured great hors d’oeuvres, custom Rap Sh*t cocktails, sounds by the one and only DJ Rtistic, and gifts of custom Levi’s jackets that featured embroidery of classic sayings inspired by the show and soundtrack.
Those in attendance were also entertained by performances from both the cast members and featured soundtrack artists.
“It’s an incredible feeling to finally release Rap Sh*t into the world and have it be so well received,” said creator and executive producer Issa Rae. “Music is the soul of the show and our official soundtrack not only represents our characters but is a love letter to Miami and its unique sounds.”
Executive produced by Rae, the first season’s LP will feature fan-favorite tracks like “Seduce & Scheme” and second single “Nann Badder” from Shawna & Mia (played by Aida Osman & KaMillion) as well as new, original material from Dreezy, Tokyo Jetz, Jean Deaux, BEAM, and Raedio acts TeaMarr, NCognita and many more.
“The development of the soundtrack has been months in the making, as many of the songs are a result of Camp Raedio,” said Benoni Tagoe, president of Raedio.
“The songwriting camp was held in Miami and designed as a creative space to allow artists and songwriters to create original music for the show and soundtrack. We’re excited with the final result and can’t wait for fans to hear the full LP,” said Xtina Prince, Raedio’s head of label and publishing.
AllHipHop’s Rea Davis caught up with Issa Rae to discuss the hit show, its music and more.
AllHipHop: How does it feel to have created all of this amazing content that is culturally relevant, relatable and praised?
Issa Rae: I’m really grateful that people are messing with the show; they’re rocking with the music. It feels great for people to see the fruits of the entire team’s labor. This has been such a collaborative process through and through, and you know, it’s a dream come true.
AllHipHop: What’s your favorite thing about Rap Sh*t?
Issa Rae: My favorite thing has to be the music. Like I love Shawna & Mia as a group. I love their chemistry. I love the songs that they’ve created by way of the collaboration of Raedio and the songwriters that we chose and the producers, and I just love that it represents the now. Like I felt like I set out to do a show that represents this very moment, and I feel like it does just that.
AllHipHop: Do you have your acceptance speech ready for when you take home the 2022 Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series?
Issa Rae: It’s a lot of great talent there. I’m not counting on anything. I’m rooting for everybody. I’m lowkey rooting for Quinta. I love her so much. To be able to revive network sitcoms. No one was checking for network sitcoms. All that to say, I’m proud of everybody, but I have no expectations.
Teen rapper King Harris, the son of singer Tameka “Tiny” (Cottle) Harris and Clifford “T.I.” Harris, finally spoke about getting arrested in Atlanta a few weeks ago.
The 18-year-old prince of the Grand Hustle empire was arrested for not wearing a seatbelt in his car. A video clip surfacing online shows a female voice explaining the charges to him, telling the young artist he had four counts against him with the arrest.
In another clip, he laughs about the arrest and says, “The king is back. Bruh, I am back. I’m free.”
He said that before the arrest, the officers asked him to submit some blood. He alleges they also wanted to look at his mouth and tongue to see if he smoked. King says he denied their request.
“Hell no,” he said when recounting his experience. “He wanted me to do something else. Not doing it. Not doing it.”
He said that he was placed under arrest because he did not comply with the officer’s request.
“Welp, that was how it was going to go anyway,” King said.
Adding, “When I saw those lights I said, ‘We going down.'”
According to the video, his friends were sleeping in the car, and the cops pulled up, questioning why the tint on their windows was so dark.
King stated that the officer asked him to get out of his car, but he said no. “It’s a demand/order.”
He eventually got out of the car as instructed.
Whatever was in his car and on him, the officer found it and placed it on the car’s hood. The cop then read the young his rights.
“Yeah y’all right n*gga got too much money, this how a n*gga supposed to be everyday, but sh*t I’m sorry that a m*th*rf*ck*r caught me while I was, you know what I’m sayin’, on my way to vacation,” he continued.
In another video, he said he was not a thug – perhaps clapping back at his dad’s comments about his arrest.
“Ain’t no way ’round it. Ain’t nothing I’m a be able to do about it,” he continued. “Can’t nobody stop it but him. I’ve already had the conversation. I’ve already made my peace with it. ‘Cause I know that energy. I was that energy. I know exactly how it’s gonna turn out.”
“King’s a good kid chasing after the wrong s###,” he said. “I trust in God to deal with it the way that he see fit … [King] done got all of the whoopings. He done got the [punishments]. He did everything as a child you can do to him. So now, he gone have to go through it and get through it.”
T.I. continued, “I’m a love him all [the] way through whatever it is he going through. And s###, man, he gon’ learn his lessons. Life is going to teach him all the lessons that he need to know. And that’s the most that we can do. That’s the best we can ask for.”
PnB Rock was shot during an attempted robbery in Los Angeles on Monday (September 12).
A graphic video of the aftermath surfaced on social media. AllHipHop has chosen to not share the video due to the disturbing nature of the footage.
Video footage caught the rapper in a pool of blood, twitching and clinging to life as he was surrounded by a group of bystanders and an employee. His injuries appeared to be severe based on the amount of blood he lost.
Unsubstantiated rumors claimed PnB Rock was dead while others suggested he was in critical condition. So far, his actual condition hasn’t been publicly revealed.
PnB Rock is a victim of a soaring crime wave in Los Angeles. Homicides have reached the highest level in 15 years. Last week, rapper Wakko The Kidd was shot six times during a robbery. Quando Rondo was involved in a targeted shooting that killed his cousin Lul Pab.
According to LAPD Chief Michel Moore, the rising murder rate is attributed to homicides involving gang members and homeless people being targeted.
PnB Rock and his girlfriend Stephanie Sibounheuang were at Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles when the shooting occurred. According to their social media posts, the two also went out together on Sunday night (September 11).
Several social media users commented on the graphic video spreading online. They expressed concern for PnB Rock’s friends and family while wondering why the footage even existed.
This story is developing.
Let’s normalize rendering aid and praying for those in crisis instead of pressing record as a default response. My spirit is aching after coming across that video 😫🙏🏾 Praying he pulls through #PNBRock
I really hope that PnB Rock’s family isn’t on social media right now. I hope he makes it. I really hate human beings. N##### wanna hate instead of being inspired. S#### getting old. #PnBRock 🙏🏾
The video of PnB Rock is disturbing. Like your last moments are held inside some strangers phone. And they chose to share it with the world before your family is notified. #PnBRock
So why and the f### is his girl friend posting Thor location ?? Are you dumb ??? I feel like nobody would’ve known he was there fr fr . Ugh why must we record everything ? IT WEIRD ! #PNBROCK #PNBRockpic.twitter.com/KKkdDI6QC4
Drakeo the Ruler’s old landlord sued the late rapper’s estate in an attempt to collect unpaid rent.
According to TMZ, Oliver Omidvar took legal action after he stopped receiving rent payments following Drakeo the Ruler’s death. The landlord said the slain artist began renting a Hollywood Hills property in June 2021.
Drakeo the Ruler, whose real name was Darrell Caldwell, allegedly paid $14,500 per month to rent the spot in the Hollywood Hills. The monthly payments ceased in January 2022 after the Stinc Team member was stabbed to death at the Once Upon a Time in L.A. festival in December 2021.
Omidvar claimed the Hollywood Hills property was in disarray and required thousands of dollars in repairs. The landlord’s lawsuit reportedly cited various damages, noting he had to fix the plumbing and drywall.
The landlord sued Drakeo the Ruler’s estate for back rent and damages. Omidvar is seeking $104,542.60.
Omidvar’s lawsuit emerged months after Drakeo the Ruler’s family pursued civil cases against Live Nation and other parties involved in the Once Upon a Time in L.A. festival. The 28-year-old rapper’s family filed wrongful death lawsuits, accusing Live Nation of not having sufficient security at the event where the fatal stabbing occurred.
Cardi B has given fans a glimpse of her brand-new face tattoo.
Last month, hairstylist Luis Santana posted a video showing the “I Like It” rapper getting some red ink added to her jawline during a visit to a tattoo studio.
While Cardi didn’t share any further details at the time, she revealed the full design during an Instagram Live on Saturday.
Lifting her hair to show off her new body art, the star explained that she decided to have her 12-month-old son Wave’s name inked in red cursive script on her face.
“I tatted my son’s name because I love him,” she said of her little boy, whom she shares with her husband Offset.
In addition, Cardi shared that she also has a new tattoo tribute for her four-year-old daughter Kulture.
“And I tatted my daughter’s name,” the 29-year-old explained, before gesturing to the design in cursive script on her arm.
Earlier this year, the hip-hop star teased plans to get a face tattoo.
“Random but ….I’m 1% close too tatting my sons name on my face….I really really wanna do it!” she tweeted.
Lil Durk and India Royale’s relationship appears to be on the rocks.
India Royale sparked breakup speculation when she announced, “I’m a free agent,” via Twitter on Sunday (September 11). Lil Durk reacted to his fiancée’s comments in an Instagram Stories post on Monday (September 12).
“That [cat emoji] mines 4ever welcome to death row b*%ch,” he wrote.
India Royale quickly responded with her own Instagram Stories post, which featured the cap emoji.
The couple began dating in 2017. They share a daughter named Willow Banks, who was born in 2018.
Last year, Lil Durk proposed to India Royale. The proposal happened in front of a crowd attending WGCI’s Big Jam Concert at the United Center in Chicago.
Earlier this year, Lil Durk treated India Royale to a shopping spree at a Neiman Marcus store. She spent $111,474.46. He also got a tattoo of her face on his leg.
But those good times seemingly didn’t last. Lil Durk and India Royale’s apparent split added to a rough couple of months for the OTF rapper, who suffered an eye injury at the 2022 Lollapalooza Festival in July. A pyrotechnic device went off in front of his face during his performance at the event.
Fans may be quick to classify 26AR as a drill rapper, but he’s here to let you know he’s so much more than meets the eye. In fact, the Brooklyn, New York native has recently been exploring the genres of R&B and even his singing voice, proving he truly has no boundaries when it comes to his sound and versatility.
Born and raised in Crown Heights, the rising star has only been rapping for a few years and has already signed to one of the biggest labels in the music industry: Def Jam. And per his standout single “Hottest In My City” featuring Rob49, it’s safe to say 26AR is next up, here to become one of the greats and not settling for anything less.
When asked why 26AR is dubbed the Voice of the Streets, he states, “Because people can relate to my music. They feel that in their soul, they get goosebumps when they hear me.”
Fast forward to today, 26AR unveils his newest project titled Flyest OOTA, a term he created (similar to his name, with 26 being the block he comes from). The album serves as a testament to his hard-hitting bars, clever punchlines, and storytelling in his lyrics.
AllHipHop caught up with 26AR, who was posted in his hometown of Brooklyn rocking a chain that says “King Drench.” Read below as we discuss his take on the New York drill scene, wanting to expand into R&B, biggest lesson learned from behind bars, his new project, linking with Rob49, getting the Styles P cosign, goals, and more!
26AR: S### I’ve been chillin’, just working. Progressing, leveling up.
AllHipHop: Last time we talked was April 6th, 2021 during Covid. How was the rest of the pandemic for you?
26AR: It was regular for me. I was just working. I wasn’t really worried about it.
AllHipHop: How do you view the New York drill scene and where do you see yourself in it?
26AR: I feel like it’s lit right now. The lane is wide open for me. I’m a take it over real soon, for sure. I’m not trying to be labeled as just a drill rapper. I want to be an artist, period. I want to be global. I don’t want to just be categorized as a drill artist.
AllHipHop: Are you working on a new sound? Talk about how you’ve evolved.
26AR: I’ve been trying a more R&B sound. [laughs] That’s the lane I’m trying to get into right now so you know, I’m just working on my vocals and stuff like that. Trying to get it right for the ladies.
AllHipHop: A lot of people take vocal lessons to sing. Are you doing that?
26AR: I’m saying, I do that with my brothers. I don’t really take real vocal lessons, because I almost got it down pat. You gotta make music for the ladies, that’s more style. I’ll be singing, for sure.
AllHipHop: Any artists that inspire you in the R&B lane?
26AR: Chris Brown, people like that. I f### with Chris Brown.
AllHipHop: When we talked, you had released “Aaron Rodgers.” What did that do for your career?
26AR: “Aaron Rodgers” kicked off my career man, that was the start. That was the first song I made when I came home. From there, it’s been up. I just kept going, elevating.
AllHipHop: What did you learn from being behind bars?
26AR: Being behind bars, I learned a lot. I found myself. I found out who I truly was. I learned a lot, I matured. I stuck to the plan. I made a plan incarcerated, and I stuck with it. Now, my life is changing.
AllHipHop: In what way?
26AR: For the better, in all positive ways. I’m meeting new people, meeting good people. I’m getting bigger, traveling. I never saw myself doing a lot of stuff like that.
AllHipHop: Where’s the craziest place you went?
26AR: I just got off parole so I haven’t really gone anywhere too crazy yet, but it’s coming. I’ve been to Miami, Cali, places like that. Now, I’m about to start really going places.
AllHipHop: Would you ever move out of Brooklyn?
26AR: Hell yeah, I’d move out of Brooklyn. I’d probably move to Miami or something like that. It’s cool out there.
AllHipHop: You just released your album Flyest OOTA, what does the title mean?
26AR: Flyest OOTA means be the best at whatever you do. Anybody can be a Fly OOTA. Just like you, you’re a writer, interviewer. You’re the Flyest OOTA at what you do.
AllHipHop: Does OOTA stand for something?
26AR: Nah, it’s just a word I made up. I spent countless days and nights on the project, it feels good for it to finally come out and it’s doing pretty decent.

AllHipHop: Talk about the cover art, is that your dog?
26AR: Nah. [laughs] I was on the block that I grew up on and one of my friends brought their dog out. Randomly, it wasn’t even planned. We took pictures with the dog, and we just chose it. Out of all the pictures we took, we chose that one.
AllHipHop: What’s on your jacket?
26AR: That’s this brand called Murder Bravado. It’s a new up and coming brand, they’re cool.
AllHipHop: Talk about linking with Rob49 on “Hottest in my City,” he’s fire.
26AR: Yeah, that’s my doggie. Shout out to Rob49. When we link, I bring him to Brooklyn, in the trenches. I brought him to Brower Park, we shot the video there. The most dangerous park in America, you gotta look it up.
AllHipHop: How was the video shoot then?
26AR: The video was shoot was good, it was good for the most part. The guys were outside, we had fun.
AllHipHop: What was the best memory from shooting?
26AR: The best memory, we played basketball with each other. Me and Rob played 2 on 2, that was cool.
AllHipHop: Who won?
26AR: Him and his partner won, but we weren’t really playing hard. We weren’t playing for real.
AllHipHop: How did you guys link initially?
26AR: Through my management. My management knew his management, they had some talks. We just linked up.
AllHipHop: What inspired the song “Walk Em”?
26AR: Just the beat. They played the beat and once I heard the beat, I liked it and I just started freestyling over it.
AllHipHop: How’d you find your way to Def Jam?
26AR: We had a couple meetings. They took me out and I felt the vibe. I liked the people that work there, it was good chemistry and good vibes. I just went with them.
AllHipHop: You just started rapping a couple years ago. How does it feel to be signed so early in your career?
26AR: It feels great. It’s a dream come true. I ain’t think it would happen this early or this fast.
AllHipHop: What would you be doing if you weren’t rapping?
26AR: There ain’t no telling. I guess playing chess, I don’t know.
AllHipHop: Are you good at chess?
26AR: Yeah, I like chess.
https://www.instagram.com/p/CfuoDeGOTak/?hl=en
AllHipHop: How does it feel to get the Styles P cosign?
26AR: It feels amazing because he’s one of the GOATS/legends of this hip hop business. It feels good to be recognized by someone of that nature.
AllHipHop: Did y’all get to tap in in-person?
26AR: Nah, not yet. Hopefully soon.
AllHipHop: Did you listen to Styles P growing up?
26AR: Yeah, I listened to a few of his songs. My dad listened to him, he was hyped.
AllHipHop: What’s one thing you want fans to get from your new album?
26AR: I want them to distinguish me from other artists. I want them to know I’m not just a drill artist.
AllHipHop: Top 5 artists you’re currently listening to?
26AR: I listen to Lil Durk, Lil Baby. I listen to PGF Nuk. I got a song with him, it’s called “Finish.” He’s on the album, he’s from Chicago. That’s mainly who I be listening to. I listen to G Herbo, and Jay Z. When he makes music, which is barely now, I listen to Jay Z too.
AllHipHop: Best encounter you had with a fan?
26AR: I had a lot of great encounters with fans. They act like they don’t know me until the last minute until I’m leaving or something, and just they chase me down.
AllHipHop: Do you get the most love in Brooklyn?
26AR: Yeah, for the most part.
AllHipHop: Any goals for yourself?
26AR: I want to be one of the biggest artists in the world. I want to have a #1 album, #1 song in the world.
AllHipHop: What’s it gon’ take to get there?
26AR: It’s gon’ take what I’ve been through and putting in work. Just keep working.
An all-boys private school in Bethesda, Maryland, with a population of predominantly white students, is currently in a code of conduct crisis after some of the boys were caught saying the “n-word.”
The Landon School is a private academy that educates students from the third grade until their senior year in high school. Reps took to social media to explain what happened and what they were doing about students using the racial slur – even in the context of popular culture.
According to the Washington Post, some of the boys were recorded rapping the lyrics to Da Baby’s song “Freestyle” on the Red Line train on Thursday, September 1st by a Hispanic man named Jose Romero.
He said he started to record the teens when he heard them singing three verses of the song that contained the n-word. Romero is careful to get the back of the students’ heads.
“We are deeply concerned by the video showing a group of Landon students’ behavior on the DC Metro,” the statement read. “Their conduct and offensive words are unacceptable and antithetical to our school’s values and our Civility Code.”
It continued, “We absolutely do not condone or tolerate the behavior displayed in this video, and we deeply regret the hurt it has caused. We are looking into the matter. As we begin the school year, we look forward to continuing our work to build in our boys the characteristics of respect, honor, and kindness that are so essential in preparing the next generation.”
Romero captured the students yelling profanity about their rival school, Gonzaga College High School, a private Catholic college preparatory high school in the District.
“I did make it clear to him it’s impossible to tell who is saying [the n-word] and who isn’t,” Romero, 44, said. “I think that you can’t really single out one person, but the school should really take this as a teaching moment … for those students.”
It appears Bronx bombshell and Grammy Award-winning rapper Cardi B also has one.
The doppelganger’s name is Nduta Mwega, and she goes by Sharon. She is from Kenya, Africa, a long way from the Highbridge neighborhood, the “WAP” chart-topper’s original South Bronx home.
Mwega took to social media to see if other people saw the resemblance, creating a side-by-side collage of the two and posting it on Instagram, captioning, “Imma leave this here, cant believe I did the shoot before her interview was out. the choice of makeup and wig synchronizing.”
It should not come to anyone’s shock that someone in Africa resembles Cardi, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar-Cephus.
She is of African descent, with a father from the Dominican Republic and a mother from Trinidad. Often, she has had to use social media to explain her ethnicity as an Afro-Latina.
She once said on Twitter, “A lot of Americans like to tell people about their race due to their ethnicity.”
I don’t know but a lot of Americans like to tell people about their race due to their ethnicity.I’m not here to defend in here to educate. https://t.co/O4FdwB1RCX
“I’m not here to defend, I’m here to educate. I am Afro-Latina. Being Afro Latina don’t mean you have to [be] Amara la Negra color neither,” she continued. “My grandmother from my mom side is not Latina at all & her father is light a####### so my mommy is light but her sibling (sic) are dark.”
Check out examples she has shared over the years of her family being mixed with African, European (Spain), and Indigenous blood.
Hair texture def don’t make you a race however I am Afro Latina .Being Afro Latina don’t mean you have to amara la Negra color https://t.co/Y3ygkak7sW grandmother from my mom side is not Latina at all & her father is light a####### so my mommy is light but her sibling are dark https://t.co/kOROVPt2pO
Lil Durk has not been in the rooms for quite some time, but now he’s in there for all the wrong reasons. After a highly publicized engagement to India Royale, it appears that the couple has broken up.
India tweeted something ominous. She proclaimed herself to be a “free agent,” something you can’t be when you’re with a highly successful rapper like Durkio. And yet, that’s exactly what she did. The Internet went wow, even Newsweek did a report on it.
These two have been together for years, and got engaged last December. As you already know, they have a daughter that was born in 2018.
The Internet doesn’t miss a thing. And it helps when you stop unfollowing each other on social media and delete pictures from Instagram. Now, Durk is still following her, so there may be some hope for the couple. They seem to be extremely happy and I wish nothing but the best for them! What’s crazy is she has her tattooed on his leg.
They probably just had a bad argument and need to rectify the situation so that they can get back together. Both of them are in their late 20s and I think it’s time for them to settle down!
Anyway the fans have definitely gone wild and speculation is even crazier. Let us know!
If you and durk ain’t together no more imma stop dating cause y’all were the only hope I had left in love 😂😭
We do not know how Durk is feeling, but it seems like there’s some angst. A young jawn tried to jump in his DMs less than 24 hours after the alleged break up and he defecated on her life.
It looks like West Coast emcee YG tapped East Coast emcee Nas for an upcoming song. YG spoke about the collaboration during a listening session for his I Got Issues album.
YG told the media that he did not record the song in the studio with Nas. However, it was still a monumental moment in the Compton native’s career as a recording artist.
“I was trying to get him on my second album, but it just didn’t happen. But he’s been showing love since day one, he always supported my s###. So when I finally got the verse, I was like, ‘Finally,'” said YG about working with the Queensbridge-bred rap legend.
The 4Hunnid Records leader continued, “The song that I got him on, it makes sense because I’m popping it like I’m God’s son, and that’s like his s###. So when he did that s###, I was like, ‘Yeah, timing is everything.’ It was good though. I can’t wait until the people hear it.”
YG released his sophomore studio LP, Still Brazy, in 2016. He was able to secure features from Lil Wayne, Drake, Nipsey Hussle, Kamaiyah, and other acts for that 17-track project.
I Got Issues will arrive on DSPs on September 30. The album will follow 2020’s My Life 4Hunnid which peaked at #4 on the Billboard 200 chart with 64,000 first-week units.
Nas previously teamed up with YG and A Boogie wit da Hoodie for “YKTV” off King’s Disease II. Nas’s most recent body of work, Magic, came out in December 2021. Plus, his discography consists of critically-acclaimed LPs such as Illmatic, It Was Written, Stillmatic, God’s Son, Life Is Good, and King’s Disease.
According to Webster’s, a visionary is “someone or something that thinks about the future or advancements in a creative and imaginative way” or a “person who is ahead of his time and who has a powerful plan for change in the future is an example of a visionary.” She’s known her destiny since the year 1979, when Hip-Hop began a trek into the mainstream.
Mia X made history as a member of Master P’s No Limit Records, but the New Orleans rap matriarch makes it clear to Chuck “Jigsaw” Creekmur – she was doing this before she hopped in the tank. She made an indelible mark as an emcee with a plethora of hit albums, hit songs and even movie appearances. Check out this chat with a legend in music and business.
AllHipHop: Now, we going to get into a lot of the backstory behind how you got to this point, but tell us how your business is going and tell people a little bit about it, and what makes it special?
Mia X: So my business is doing really well. I’m very thankful for that, but it started from me creating a cooking squad on Twitter like 11 years ago. And the squad called Team Whip Dem Pots. And I inspired people to cook. You know, I just want people to cook. I want families to cook. I want people to cook. And so, after that, I started penning my memoir.
AllHipHop: Okay.
Mia X:“Things My Grandma Told Me,Things My Grandma Showed Me.” And it’s a cookbook memoir. I talk about my life, about my time in the music industry. And I talk about my experience with food. It’s like my audience, they moved with me. They transitioned from the music to the food. I was really excited and happy that they didn’t call me a has-been and act like I didn’t exist anymore. They really grew with me and AllHipHop, man.
AllHipHop: So let’s go to that. AllHipHop is turning 25 next year, but you were one of the first people to get down with us outside of just being interviewed and outside of us chasing you or whatever, or being in the news. Talk about that a little bit.
Mia X: So, AllHipHop gave me my first opportunity, and gave me the platform to really talk about my food and all the stories. You guys allowed me to write columns because in a lifestyle section. And I would do excerpts in my book, recipes, just all kind of little stuff. But y’all gave me that platform and people really started to take me serious as a cook. So you know, AllHipHop is family forever, baby.
AllHipHop: We family.
Mia X: Forever.
AllHipHop: (Styles P pulls up) That’s what’s up. Styles P!
Styles P: I’m hopping in. If you plant based, you need a plant based meal, get the vegan cabbage.
Mia X: That’s my vegan cabbage. It’s here today.
AllHipHop: Okay. Bun said you almost put him to sleep today.
Mia X: Because look, he started with a little piece of fish and some red beans. And then he came back for seconds.
AllHipHop: Bun looked like he gets seconds. Maybe thirds.
Mia X: He came back for seconds, but I’m going to get one of those Trill Burgers. I want to try the vegan one, because they said it will shock you.
AllHipHop: They ran out. He said they ran out in four hours. It’s gone.
Mia X: That’s what happened to me with the fish, I’m out of the fish. (She sold over 600 pieces of fish at the Rock The Bells Festival)
AllHipHop: So look, see what people up north don’t understand is that, the key to good food, is the love you put into it. Talk about the love you put into your food.
Mia X: I enjoy cooking for people. I love to see them satisfied. You know, when they take the first bite. And then after they finish the meal, it’s really important to me, when I’m cooking, to make sure people love it. I don’t cook like to make money. I don’t cook just to be cooking. I want people to really have an experience with the food and know, I want to feel like you auntie.
Your mama, your grandma, because I am a grandma. I am a auntie and I am a mama. But I want to feel like that to people who I never met before, especially with food. Food bonds people, the kitchen is the heartbeat of your home. I’m telling you.
AllHipHop: Wow. That’s so serious. Now, for me, right, I’ve tried to cook, and I used to make my daughter spaghetti tacos. Like we used to do anything, because we didn’t know what we were doing. We were literally kind of growing up together.Do you have any recommendation for someone trying to learn how to cook, but just can’t seem to get it together?
Mia X: It’s your Trinity. So, in new Orleans it’s onion, garlic and bell pepper. We season most of our foods that way. Sometimes we add celery to it. And if we doing gravys, we add a little pinch of Thyme. But you’re seasoning is the key to making delicious food. So as long as you know, to season your food, and I’m not talking about salting it, season your food, add your herbs and your spices. You can make anything, I’m talking about anything.
AllHipHop: Right, Right. Thank you for that. I was vegan for a while, like real vegan, for like a short period of time, a year or two or something. And, that was the key to getting through it, seasoning.
Mia X: Seasoning.
AllHipHop: Yeah. Now, hip-hop turns 50 years old. Next year. We’re talking about all aspects of the culture, but, you have a distinct unique perspective. For one, you were down with one of the most iconic… (Sheek Louch of The Lox walks by) Sheek!
Sheek Louch: I see you.
AllHipHop: One of the most iconic labels, No Limit. And you were also a woman in that brand as well. Can you talk about what you went through or the idea that Hip-Hop is a really young culture, but it’s now turning 50?
Mia X: Well, I put a record out three years before I met Master P, and I had been in a game, Mannie Fresh and I, we had been in a group since we were 14. We were in a group with a guy that was actually from Queens. So our group was called New York Incorporated.
But when I got with No Limit, it was like 27 guys, and just me. What I loved about that experience, they never told me what to write. They always let me do my thing. And they never pushed like imagery on me. I had imagery pushed on me from the labels that distributed us, but they never pushed like, “Oh mama, you too fat. Or you need to do this or you need to do that.” They just let me be me. So that was really beautiful. You know, I gained some brothers and our children are… We godparents, like that’s KLC’s son. He’s the executive chef.
AllHipHop: Yeah. Nice.
Mia X: He’s my godchild. And so, we had a real cool family, so it was a good experience. But hip-hop itself, you know, I fell in love with hip-hop in 79. I fell in love in 79. And you know how you have class night at school?
And when you have career day at school, since 1982, the only thing I’ve ever told my teachers was that I was going to be a rapper. I’ve never said I was going to be anything else.
AllHipHop: That’s vision.
Mia X: I mean, and they would call my mom and say, you know that hip-hop, like the Rapping Duke and they would say, hippity bippity, call it all kind of names, because they didn’t recognize it as a genre when I fell in love with it. But I knew hip-hop was going to be special.
AllHipHop: You knew it.
Mia X: I knew it.
AllHipHop: Yeah. A lot of people we talk to say, they didn’t know it. And, that most people were saying it wouldn’t be around, but you knew it.
Mia X: I knew it. And I was like, I’m going to be a rapper from the time when Millie Jackson made, I Had To Say It, I was like, and I could cuss, oh my goodness. I’m going to throw a couple cuss words in there.
AllHipHop: That’s a fact.
Mia X: I knew hip-hop was something special. You know, I knew we had stories to tell, we had a lifestyle. I knew it.
On September 9, Walt Disney Studios presented a trailer for The Little Mermaid starring Halle Bailey of the R&B duo Chloe x Halle. Apparently, at least one person thought the movie featured Academy Award-winning actress Halle Berry in the lead role.
“Halle Berry is nearly 60 years old playing the role of a 16-year-old girl. This is what happens when you upset a fandom,” wrote a Twitter user. A supposed screenshot of the likes-to-dislike ratio for The Little Mermaid teaser on YouTube accompanied that since-deleted tweet.
In response, the 56-year-old Halle Berry posted a meme of fellow Oscar winner Mo’Nique from VH1’s Charm School reality television series. The three women in the image appear to be disinterested, annoyed, or confused.
“This means so much! Can’t wait @HalleBailey 👏🏽💕💕,” tweeted Halle Barry on the day The Little Mermaid trailer landed online. On September 9, Bailey also tweeted, “Today has been so overwhelming and incredible. ♥️ I’m so happy you’re getting to see a peek of everything 🥹😭thank you for the love…🐚✨.”
Disney plans to release the new version of The Little Mermaid on May 26, 2023. In addition to Halle Bailey, the cast includes Jonah Hauer-King as Eric, Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Javier Bardem as King Triton, Daveed Diggs as Sebastian, and Awkwafina as Scuttle.
Some racist online trolls have targeted Halle Bailey for portraying Ariel in the live-action The Little Mermaid. The casting decision seemed to upset some people because the Hans Christian Andersen-created character was Caucasian in the original fairy tale.
guys..today has been so overwhelming and incredible ♥️i’m so happy you’re getting to see a peek of everything 🥹😭thank you for the love ..🐚✨
