“Godfather Of Harlem” Actor Markuann Smith Talks 2Pac Stories, C-Murder Doc & Next Series

“People see the glory and don’t know the story—if the door won’t open, build your own.” – Markuann Smith

Markuann Smith isn’t just an actor on Godfather of Harlem, he’s the heartbeat behind the hit series. From pitching the show alongside Forest Whitaker to portraying Junie Byrd, Smith’s journey from roadie for his brother, Father MC, to respected producer is Hip-Hop history.

The latest season of the show is here, as a partially fictional—but still authentic—portrayal of Harlem’s history. In this season we see the rise of the Black Panthers, American gangster Frank Lucas and more. Musically, we hear the creative process behind the powerful soundtrack curated by Swizz Beatz.

Markuann also shares stories about his time on the road with legends like 2Pac and Naughty By Nature’s Treach and his upcoming projects, including a C-Murder documentary. Markuann reminds us that nothing is impossible when you build your own door.

Chuck “Jigsaw” Creekmur: Season 4 of Godfather of Harlem is here. Does it still feel surreal to you?

Markuann Smith: Absolutely. We got greenlit in 2017, launched in 2019 and now, we’re on season four. That’s a blessing. Not many shows make it this far, and I’m humbled by how audiences have embraced us.

AllHipHop: What’s the secret sauce that keeps people watching?

Markuann: It’s the richness of the narrative. We’re not just for one demographic. Grandparents, the youth, Hip-Hop heads—we speak to everybody. You can go from Martha and the Vandellas to Benny the Butcher in one episode. Swizz Beatz is curating a cultural gumbo that’s familiar and fresh.

AllHipHop: Where are we picking up in Season 4?

Markuann: Malcolm X is gone. Now, it’s the rise of the Black Panthers. The season explores the Black Power movement and characters like Afeni Shakur and James Baldwin. You also get introduced to Frank Lucas—young, hungry and ready to disrupt everything.

AllHipHop: Are Frank Lucas and Bumpy Johnson allies or enemies this season?

Markuann: That’s the tension. Historically, they weren’t friends. But in our version, Frank’s on a similar path as Bumpy—just from North Carolina instead of South Carolina. He’s green, but ambitious. You’ll have to watch to see if it’s loyalty or manipulation.

AllHipHop: Your character Junie Byrd is back too—what’s his arc?

Markuann: Junie Byrd is getting more shine. He was there when Bumpy died, so we’re building toward that. He’s younger than Nap and Chance but Bumpy saw something in him. He’s loyal to a fault, and people forget he got blamed for stealing dope in Season 2—but that was Nat’s gambling problem. Junie just held it down.

AllHipHop: What’s it been like working with Forest Whitaker?

Markuann: Forest is a giant, but he treats me like a little brother. When we were pitching, he was in every room. He didn’t even take the role of Bumpy right away. He waited until the 17th version of the script before he felt like he could fully embody the character. That’s how much care he puts into the work.

AllHipHop: What keeps you grounded in this business?

Markuann: Forrest always reminds me, “Just be you.” I came up with nothing handed to me. People think success is microwaveable. Nah. You gotta marinate the steak overnight. And when folks hit me like “hook me up,” I’m like—no one hooked me up. I paid my SAG dues. I carried 1200s in coffins. I worked for it.

AllHipHop: Wait—were you really a roadie back in the day?

Markuann: Yeah! I started off as a roadie for my brother, Father MC. I carried equipment, helped set up, and ended up becoming a hype man. That’s how I met 2Pac. He was a roadie for Digital Underground. Treach was a roadie for Latifah. Craig Mack was a roadie for EPMD. We were all just kids trying to make it.

AllHipHop: Do you still keep in touch with people from that era?

Markuann: I still speak to Money B from Digital Underground. RIP Shock G. That’s family. Those days on the bus, listening to the Stylistics and seeing America out the window, it gave me a musical and cultural foundation that still influences me today.

AllHipHop: Hip-Hop plays a big role in Godfather of Harlem. What’s your favorite track from the show?

Markuann: I love “Danger” with Jadakiss and Pusha T. That record is cinematic. Scar Lip, Conway… They all brought heat. Swizz is like a mad scientist, knowing who belongs where like a Hip-Hop professor mixing algebra with soul food.

AllHipHop: You teased some new projects—what’s next?

Markuann: I sold a new series set in the ’80s. Can’t say much yet. I’m also working on a sports drama, think Friday Night Lights meets The Wire. And I’ve been talking to C-Murder about doing his documentary. That one’s going to be powerful.

AllHipHop: How do you feel about the state of Black storytelling in Hollywood right now?

Markuann: I love that we’re expanding. Horror, drama, satire…we’re everywhere. But I hate the competition people try to stir up. Don’t pit Ryan Coogler against Spike Lee. There’s room for everyone. Coppola and Scorsese aren’t beefing. Let’s build—not compare. We gotta stop measuring our value through Instagram followers and start telling stories that matter.

AllHipHop: Do you have a dream project, the kind that seems impossible?

Markuann: Nothing is impossible. I don’t believe in Plan Bs. If you have one, you’re planning for your a## to fail. I tell people: if the door doesn’t open, build your own. I’m just here to tell stories that make people laugh, cry and think.

AllHipHop: Lightning round—favorite movie?

Markuann: Once Upon a Time in America by Sergio Leone.

AllHipHop: Favorite album?

Markuann: Off the Wall by Michael Jackson. But I love Earth, Wind & Fire, Isaac Hayes… that era had real texture.

AllHipHop: Favorite rap album?

Markuann: The Infamous by Mobb Deep. Also Me Against the World by 2Pac. That was New York ‘Pac, raw, lyrical, honest.

AllHipHop: Favorite TV show (besides Godfather of Harlem)?

Markuann: Top Boy. It started raw and evolved into something incredible.

AllHipHop: Final words for aspiring creators?

Markuann: Start. Just start. Don’t wait for a handout. Build the thing. Nobody knew Godfather would go four seasons—but we believed. AllHipHop believed. That’s how you win.

Megan Thee Stallion Defies Met Gala Rules With Hidden Phone Video

Megan Thee Stallion slipped her phone past security at the 2025 Met Gala and broadcasted a cheeky behind-the-scenes look on Instagram she dubbed the “Hottie Cam.”

After a three-year break, the Texas rapper returned to the exclusive NYC event on Monday (May 5).

Megan captured moments with fellow stars, including Doechii and WNBA standout Angel Reese, while sampling dishes like “cornbread and caviar,” “white truffle lobster roll” and “vegan lox” from Chef Kwame Onwuachi’s curated menu.

“We’re not supposed to have our phones, but we’re doing it [anyway],” Megan said with a laugh in the video. At one point, she leaned over to another guest and admitted, “I snuck my phone in.”

The footage showed Megan toasting at her table, zooming in on Ciara’s black-and-silver LaQuan Smith gown, hyping her up. She also complimented Lupita Nyong’o as “beautiful” and Serena Williams as “gorgeous.”

The Met Gala’s no-phone, no-social media policy—enforced by Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour—is meant to preserve the event’s exclusivity. Violating the rule can reportedly lead to being blacklisted from future galas.

Still, Megan captioned the video “Hottie Cam in thee MET GALA,” giving her followers a rare peek into the tightly guarded fashion affair.

One user joked, “Here before Anna make you delete this,” while another cautioned she might get a “warning.”

Megan Thee Stallion Walks Carpet At 2025 Met Gala

Megan’s return to the Met Gala marked her third appearance and her first since 2022.

She arrived in a shimmering silver sequin gown by Michael Kors with a sweetheart neckline and thigh-high slit, topped with a dramatic white fur coat that trailed behind her.

This year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” celebrated Black dandyism and menswear.

Ray J Shares Graphic Story Of Alleged Assault By Childhood Babysitter

Ray J shocked viewers during a Twitch livestream Monday night (May 5) when he claimed he was sexually assaulted by his babysitter as a child, leaving his guests visibly confused and unsure how to respond.

“My babysitter raped me,” Ray J blurted out, repeating the statement as he pulled his hat down over his face.

The room fell silent, with some of the women on the stream unsure whether he was being serious.

“We listen, and we don’t judge,” one woman said, while others nervously laughed, unsure how to process the moment. Ray J, who also laughed, quickly added, “It’s not funny.”

The conversation took a darker turn as he continued.

“She raped me,” he said, adding, “She had some big t######, she made me suck her t######. They was real big too.”

When one of the women asked if he was traumatized, Ray J described the alleged abuse in graphic detail.

“I tried to do what she told me to do,” he stated. “She said, Go up down, and now go up up down. But think I was just too small to really like, penetrate correctly, inside her hole.”

Ray J claimed the babysitter assaulted him after a game of hide and seek, putting him in a headlock and lifting her shirt.

Rihanna & Ciara End Years-Long Feud With Sweet Met Gala Moment

Rihanna turned heads and turned the page on old drama at the 2025 Met Gala in New York City, where she reunited with Ciara in a warm, public moment that showed their years-old feud is officially history.

The two stars posed together on the red carpet, smiling as Ciara gently placed her hand on Rihanna’s baby bump—a sweet gesture that said more than any tweet ever could.

Rihanna, who confirmed she’s expecting her third child with partner A$AP Rocky, made a dramatic return to fashion’s biggest night wearing a Marc Jacobs ensemble that played into the gala’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”

Her outfit featured a black pinstripe skirt, cropped blazer, gray corset, and a wide-brimmed hat, topped off with a burgundy polka-dot tie and chunky white collar.

She finished the look with black-and-white spectator mules and a dramatic bow trailing from the back.

Ciara, attending her eighth Met Gala, arrived in a black and silver LaQuan Smith gown with daring cutouts held together by strands of crystals.

She paired the look with black pumps, oversized earrings, and a sleek blonde bob.

Ciara was joined by husband, Russell Wilson, who wore a classic black tuxedo with a long coat, crystal brooch, cane and sunglasses.

The NFL quarterback joked about their night out, saying he hoped to “get Cinco tonight,” hinting at a fifth baby.

Rihanna & Ciara’s Public Feud

The affectionate moment between Rihanna and Ciara marked a full-circle moment for the two women, who once exchanged jabs on social media over a 2011 run-in at a party.

Back then, Ciara told E! ‘s Fashion Police that Rihanna “wasn’t the nicest” and that “it wasn’t the most pleasant run-in,” though she also added she had “always loved and respected what she’s done in fashion.”

Rihanna fired back on Twitter, kicking off a back and forth. Eventually, Rihanna apologized, and the pair seemingly moved on.

Though Ciara later told a radio station in 2013, “I don’t have beef with anybody, but I’m not going to be disrespected either… I don’t know what her problem is. I think she’s nuts right now,” she also said she wished Rihanna well.

By 2016, Ciara brushed off the feud entirely, calling it “pure comedy” on Twitter. Since then, the two have kept things cordial, but their Met Gala moment was the clearest sign yet that the past is behind them.

Diddy Trial Day One: Joe Rogan, Dallas Austin & Al B. Sure! Come Up—But Why?

The first day of the Diddy trial is off to a wild start. Now, this is going to be a tidal wave of information and rumors, but I’m here to entertain it.

Joe Rogan was reportedly mentioned during the proceedings on Monday (May 5). Remember, they’re looking for jurors in this case, so they need people who are as close to impartial as possible. I don’t know how that’s going to happen in a case like this, but I guess they’re trying. By the way, somebody said they are looking for the least biased people.

Apparently, one of the potential jurors was asked how she got her information and learned about the case. She said she gets all her Diddy news and info from Joe Rogan. Now, I won’t say much more about the woman, but I can tell you she does not appear to be a fan of Diddy. Still, from what I was told, that did not disqualify her from serving as a juror. I would’ve thought such ill-informed, biased sources would disqualify someone from participating in a case of this magnitude. Apparently not.

READ ALSO: EXCLUSIVE: Misa Hylton’s Family Ties Collide As Diddy Trial Begins & Mary J. Blige Case Continues

So I looked up some of the stuff Joe Rogan has said about Diddy, and it’s full of salacious gossip (on the first page of Google). Honestly, if anyone gets the majority of their information from that platform, they probably shouldn’t be on the jury. It’s too biased and tabloid-y.

For example, there are a bunch of wild claims about Diddy and Jamie Foxx floating around, many of which are completely false. Still, they’ve become headline fodder thanks to Rogan’s show. That kind of influence is powerful.

Good news. Word on the street is the judge is fair, and that Diddy might actually get a fair trial. I’ve also heard that while everyone is jockeying for position, Diddy is fighting hard. As you may have seen, he showed up to court with eight lawyers. A whole posse. Insiders say it looks like he might actually beat this case. You know the feds have a high conviction rate, but when they actually go to trial, that rate isn’t as high. And Diddy has a monster defense team.

Now, here’s where it gets even crazier—names like producer Dallas Austin and singer Al B. Sure! are being thrown around. What would Dallas Austin have to do with this? We know Al B. Sure! has left breadcrumbs over the years, hinting at some shady behavior from Diddy, but he’s never fully revealed the facts behind the rumors. Is that about to change? Will he finally come forward with more than just implications?

Still, what does any of this have to do with Cassie Ventura and the sex trafficking allegations? Honestly, I don’t know—but it’s all heating up fast. We are about to find out FAST.

Future’s Surprising Met Gala Transformation Sends Fans Into A Frenzy

Future has turned heads at the 2025 Met Gala in New York City with a drastic hairstyle switch and a tailored look that played directly into the event’s theme celebrating Black menswear.

The Hip-Hop heavyweight stepped out of the Mark Hotel with a cropped, orange-blond cut, ditching his signature dark dreadlocks for something far more unexpected.

The surprising transformation instantly lit up social media, where reactions ranged from admiration to amusement.

Social Media Users Chime In On Future’s Met Gala Makeover

One user quipped, “Def thought Future was Wanda Sykes,” while another joked, “Future looks like Ms. Frizzle.”

His outfit leaned into the night’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” He donned gray knit trousers and a matching overcoat layered over a black and white ensemble.

He completed the look with black gloves, dark shades and polished shoes, blending classic tailoring with his own twist.

The hairstyle, which some described as “mad scientist” or “crackhead off the street,” became one of the most talked-about moments of the night. But love it or hate it, Future’s appearance proved he’s not afraid to gamble with fashion in front of the world’s cameras.

The Met Gala’s 2025 theme took inspiration from Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity.

The gala was co-chaired by Colman Domingo, A$AP Rocky, Lewis Hamilton, Pharrell Williams and Vogue’s Anna Wintour. LeBron James, listed as an honorary chair, missed the event due to a knee injury.

The Costume Institute’s exhibit, opening May 10 and running through October 26, explores 300 years of Black sartorial history across 12 sections, with archival pieces from figures like Frederick Douglass and Jet magazine.

Other standout fashion moments included Diana Ross in a white cape gown embroidered with her family’s names. Rihanna also turned heads n a custom black look that revealed her baby bump and Zendaya in a metallic Versace design.

A 20-member gospel group called Silk & Sound performed soul and R&B classics on the red carpet. Pharrell Williams’s Voices of Fire choir also sang inside the museum.

A$AP Rocky Fawns Over Rihanna’s Third Pregnancy On Met Gala Carpet

A$AP Rocky has confirmed Rihanna is pregnant with their third child after the superstar singer debuted her baby bump at the 2025 Met Gala in New York.

“It feels amazing, you know,” the rapper and Met Gala 2025 co-chair told reporters on the red carpet. “It’s time that we show the people what we was cooking up. And I’m glad everybody’s happy for us ’cause we definitely happy, you know.”

Rihanna revealed her baby bump in a dramatic Marc Jacobs ensemble featuring a black-and-gray corset, a bolero jacket, a floor-length skirt with buttons, a necktie, two-tone heels and a wide-brimmed hat.

The couple’s appearance quickly became one of the night’s most talked-about moments.

The singer had already hinted at the pregnancy while walking around New York in a fitted matching set that showed her growing belly.

The couple, who began dating publicly in 2020, are already parents to two sons — RZA, born in May 2022, and Riot Rose, born in August 2023. Rihanna famously debuted her second pregnancy during her 2023 Super Bowl halftime performance, where her red jumpsuit and visible bump stole the show.

Rocky also reflected on the public’s reaction to their growing family. “Honestly, it’s a blessing nonetheless,” he explained. “We’ve mostly experienced love. We are truly open to that and grateful for it. That’s love. Love is love.”

Rihanna has made a habit of turning motherhood into a fashion moment. Back in March, she shared two never-before-seen photos of her sons in honor of International Women’s Day.

In one, she cradled newborn RZA, wearing layers of pearls, gold chains and a medallion necklace. In another, she held baby Riot while rocking oversized pink sunglasses.

“By far the most powerful thing I’ve ever done as a woman… my little miracles! #InternationalWomensDay,” she wrote in the caption.

She added with a wink, “And yes I gave birth in pearls and sunglasses… don’t ask, a lot was happening.”

Kimora Lee Simmons Exposes Price She Paid For Fame At Just 13

Kimora Lee Simmons racked up thousands in long-distance charges and worked under conditions that would violate today’s child labor laws during her early modeling days in Europe.

The fashion mogul and mother of five opened up to PEOPLE about the steep cost of staying connected to her family after moving overseas at just 13 years old to pursue modeling.

“I was running up a phone bill,” Simmons said. “My phone bill—this is crazy—my phone bill was like $5,000 a month because back then that was when it was real long-distance.”

Long before FaceTime or Wi-Fi, Simmons relied on collect calls and credit cards to reach her mother back home in Missouri.

“You didn’t have calling plans and the Wi-Fi,” she said. “We didn’t have that. You had a collect call. You could either pay for it yourself on your credit card or bill it to someone else. I remember being like, ‘Where’s my mom?’”

Simmons left her hometown before starting high school and struggled with intense homesickness while living and working in Europe. At the time, she was modeling for luxury fashion houses like Chanel under the direction of Karl Lagerfeld.

Reflecting on her early start in the industry, Simmons noted that the work she did as a teenager wouldn’t fly under current labor standards.

“As I got older, I realized I was the youngest one,” she said. “Karl would even tell me things like, ‘What we did before is illegal now’ — labour laws and kids. So yeah, we were at it kind of early.”

Simmons’ multiethnic look was groundbreaking in high fashion at the time she began her career, helping her stand out on Paris runways. Simmons closed the 1989 Chanel haute couture show as “The Bride” and went on to walk for prestigious fashion houses such as Fendi, Valentino, Yves Saint Laurent and Emanuel Ungaro.

She also appeared on the covers of major magazines like Vogue, Elle and Harper’s Bazaar. Her modeling success laid the foundation for her later ventures in fashion design and business, including Baby Phat.

André 3000 Releases “Best Worst Rap Album In History”

Well, it looks like André 3000 has trolled us all again. The Outkast luminary and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee claimed to have lost a sketchbook somewhere in Amsterdam on March 29, with the “MISSING” posters to prove it. While many fans assumed it was part of an album rollout, his team denied it.

But on Monday (May 5), André 3000 showed up to the 2025 Met Gala in New York City with a piano strapped to his body around the same time he announced—yep!—his new album, 7 piano sketches. And, as the title suggests, Three Stacks ditched the flute in favor of the piano. It comes with a with a warning that reads: “NO BARS.”

The song titles, much like 2024’s Grammy Award-nominated album, New Blue Sun, are sprinkled with dashes of humor, especially evident on “when you’re a ant and you wake up in an awesome mood, about to drive your son to school, only to discover that you left the lights on in the car last night so your battery is drained.”

“The original title for it was ‘The Best Worst Rap Album In History,’ André said in a statement, “and here is an excerpt from the original liner notes: ‘It’s jokingly the worst rap album in history because there are no lyrics on it at all. It’s the best because it’s the free-est emotionally and best I’ve felt personally. It’s the best because it’s like a palette cleanser for me.'”

7 piano sketches was released via Epic Records around 8 p.m. ET, shortly after André 3000 arrived at the Met Gala in New York City, where he wore the piano number created by Burberry in collaboration with benji bixby. It adhered to the Met Gala’s Superfine: Tailoring Black Style theme, celebrating craftsmanship, structure, Black history and the evolution of dandyism. The event also marks the debut of benji bixby, an update on André’s late ’00s fashion line, Benjamin Bixby.

Partially composed and recorded prior to New Blue Sun, the beginnings of 7 piano sketches came about nearly 10 years ago, while André was staying in a house in Texas with his son that had only a piano, their beds and TV screens. André was compelled to compose more and share them in the spring, a time of year that “promises that life, creativity and possibility are ever-renewing.”

It’s going to be a busy year for André. On Saturday (May 10), he’ll receive an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Music from Berklee College of Music as part of their graduating Class Of 2025. On November 8, he and Big Boi will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.

Charged Up Fest Returns To Richmond With Mission To Heal Through Hip-Hop

The Charged Up Fest is powering back into Richmond, Virginia from May 27 to June 1, aiming to do more than entertain. Its goal is to retun as a cultural engine for empowerment, education and healing. Richmond-based rapper and festival founder, Noah-O, sees the event as a vehicle for transformation.

“Charged Up Fest means a lot to me because it represents how Hip-Hop can be harnessed for a higher purpose—using the culture to build community, educate, and empower,” Noah-O told AllHipHop.

The festival begins with the Charged Up Impact Awards at the Black History Museum of Virginia. The events honors grassroots changemakers making a difference in Virginia. The following day, the festival shifts with “Leading the Charge: Mental Health & Hip-Hop,” a panel held at Virginia Commonwealth University’s Institute for Contemporary Art.

“One of the parts I’m most excited about is the ‘Leading the Charge’ panel,” Noah-O said. “Last year, we hosted a powerful free vent featuring producer Bink!, Kasim Peterson from Dream Chasers Records and June Jones from Atlantic Records. We created a space where emerging artists and creatives could connect directly with industry professionals who have deep Virginia roots.”

He continued, “This year, we’re leveling up. We’re bringing in influential voices like Grammy-nominated artist Mad Skillz, AD Carson—a Hip Hop Studies professor at the University of Virginia, and Ant Marshall, founder of the legendary Lyricist Lounge. But we’re also including licensed mental health professionals to deepen the conversation.”

AHH’s Chuck “Jigsaw” Creekmur will also be included in the conversation.

“In a time of rising gun violence, the opioid crisis, and the social challenges we face under today’s political climate, it’s crucial we offer not only inspiration—but also resources, solutions, and healthy alternatives,” Noah-O added. “This panel aims to spark meaningful dialogue and guide people toward tools that can improve lives.”

With events that mix creativity, purpose and real-world insight, Charged Up Fest is turning Richmond into a destination for both art and impact.

“Richmond, VA—our capital city—is a creative hub in the Mid-Atlantic, centrally located along the East Coast. It’s poised to become the next major destination for creatives worldwide, much like Austin with SXSW or Atlanta with A3C. Charged Up Fest has the potential to be Richmond’s version of that cultural movement,” Noah-O said.

For Noah-O, this is just the beginning. He recently performed with Ghostface Killah at the famous Apollo Theater in New York City and Curren$y in Richmond.

As Charged Up Fest rolls into its second year, the vision is crystal clear: this isn’t just a music festival. It’s a movement—designed to uplift a city, connect generations, and activate purpose through the power of Hip-Hop.

EXCLUSIVE: Sean Kingston Hemorrhaging Cash, Begs Judge to Let Him Perform

Sean Kingston is asking a federal judge to let him leave South Florida for one night in the summer so he can perform at Milwaukee’s Summerfest and start earning again after being convicted of wire fraud.

The “Beautiful Girls” singer filed a motion through his attorney requesting permission to travel for the June 20, 2025, show.

Kingston, born Kisean Anderson, has been under home detention since April following his conviction on six federal counts tied to a scheme that defrauded luxury retailers out of more than $1 million in goods.

“Mr. Anderson has not been able to produce income since being placed on home detention since most of his job offers include appearing at concerts outside of our district,” according to his lawyer Zeljka Bozanic. “Mr. Anderson is going through a difficult time as he is not able to work.”

Sean Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, were found guilty of conspiring to scam high-end vendors by leveraging his celebrity status.

Prosecutors say the pair convinced sellers of luxury cars, jewelry and electronics to hand over merchandise without upfront payment by sending fake wire transfer receipts and forged documents.

The items were never paid for. The 34-year-old was convicted on March 28 of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and five counts of wire fraud.

He was released on bond on April 16 with conditions that include GPS monitoring and a restriction on leaving the Southern District of Florida.

His legal team argues that the Summerfest gig isn’t a nightclub appearance but a legitimate concert opportunity that could help him recover financially and fulfill a previously canceled booking.

“The appearance that Mr. Anderson is seeking permission to attend is not a club/bar appearance… it is more of a concert/festival setting,” Bozanic explained.

Kingston is offering to provide detailed travel plans and check in with his probation officer before and after the trip. The filing also notes he has not violated any bond conditions since his release.

He faces up to 20 years in prison for each count. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for August 15, 2025.

Diddy Trial: Judge Compares Jury List To “Lord of The Rings”

Diddy faced a packed courtroom and growing list of federal charges Monday (May 5) as his sex trafficking and racketeering trial opened in New York.

The 55-year-old music mogul appeared at the Daniel Patrick Moynihan Courthouse in Lower Manhattan dressed in a tailored suit and glasses, opting for civilian attire after receiving court approval to forgo jail-issued clothing during the proceedings.

Presiding over the case, U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian kicked off the day by acknowledging Diddy’s many stage names over the years, telling the court he has been known as “Puff Daddy, Diddy, other names … and Love.”

The judge also lightened the mood with a quip about the extensive jury pool, comparing the list to the length of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings.

Jury selection is expected to stretch across several days, with the trial projected to last up to eight weeks. The case has drawn national attention due to Diddy’s celebrity status and the serious nature of the allegations.

Diddy was first arrested in September 2024 in New York and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering and transporting individuals for prostitution.

In April, prosecutors added two more charges: an additional sex trafficking count and another transportation for prostitution charge, bringing the total to five.

Last week, Diddy declined a plea deal and entered a plea of “not guilty” to all charges. The court will continue jury selection throughout the week, with opening arguments expected once the panel is finalized.

EXCLUSIVE: Game Loses House—Judge Orders Sale To Pay Off $7M Debt To Priscilla Rainey

Game has officially lost his multimillion-dollar Calabasas estate after a judge approved its sale to help cover the $7.13 million judgment awarded to Priscilla Rainey.

Rainey sued the rapper in 2015 over an alleged sexual assault during the filming of his VH1 reality show She’s Got Game. The Game denied the allegations but failed to appear in court during a 2016 trial, leading to a default judgment.

The jury awarded her $1.13 million in compensatory damages for the alleged assault and $6 million in punitive damages after he was accused of mocking the court by blowing off the trial entirely.

The Los Angeles County Superior Court granted Rainey’s request to sell the property on May 2, 2025, after years of legal wrangling and failed attempts by Game to avoid payment.

The rapper argued that the house was protected under California’s homestead exemption, ruling that the property is legally owned by JTT Holdings LLC—not by Game himself.

According to the ruling, Game may have an equity interest in JTT Holdings, but that doesn’t confer upon him an interest in the property.

Rainey also successfully argued that JTT Holdings LLC was just a shell company created by Game and his manager, Wack100, to keep the residence out of his name and out of her reach.

Rainey has aggressively pursued collection efforts of her $7 million judgment. She has seized his music royalties and targeted other assets tied to Game’s businesses and intellectual property.

According to Zillow, the property is currently valued at approximately $4,037,500. If it sells at that price, The Game would still owe Rainey nearly $3 million.

Rihanna Unveils Baby Bump At 2025 Met Gala—Third Child With A$AP Rocky

Rihanna had arguably the best look for the 2025 Met Gala. On Monday (May 5), she and longtime partner A$AP Rocky revealed they are expecting their third child together at the annual soiree in New York City. The singer, 37, showcased her baby bump in a fitted two-piece outfit before the event, with photographer Miles Diggs sharing photos of her in the rain.

The couple already has two sons: RZA, turning three this month, and Riot Rose, 21 months old. Rihanna has spoken warmly about how her relationship with Rocky has deepened since becoming parents, praising him as a patient and loving dad.

A$AP Rocky, co-chairing the Met Gala, previously joked that their best collaboration so far has been their children, emphasizing their family bond over professional projects. Rihanna is known for her iconic pregnancy reveals, notably announcing her second pregnancy during her 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show. Their third pregnancy continues her pattern of high-profile announcements.

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s relationship evolved from a long-standing friendship and professional collaboration into a deeply committed partnership. They first connected publicly in 2012 during a performance at the MTV Video Music Awards and maintained a close bond over the years, with Rocky opening for Rihanna on her 2013 Diamonds World Tour.

Their romantic relationship officially began in 2020, after years of mutual support and shared creative projects, including campaigns for Rihanna’s Fenty brand. Rihanna has described their start as cautious, aware of the emotional risks, but Rocky became a central figure in her life both personally and professionally.

Since becoming a couple, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have solidified their status as a power couple, supporting each other through public challenges and celebrating milestones together. They welcomed RZA in May 2022 and Riot Rose in August 2023.

Rihanna was also by Rocky’s side during his recent trial. Rocky was found not guilty by a Los Angeles jury on February 18 in his felony assault trial stemming from a 2021 shooting incident involving his former friend, Terell Ephron (A$AP Relli).

He faced two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, but after nearly three hours of deliberation, the jury acquitted him, accepting the defense’s argument that the gun involved was a prop used for a music video and not a real weapon.

Janet also acknowledged her older brother Jackie, writing, “I’m so incredibly blessed to have you in my life! I love you dearly and I pray your special day is filled with joy & happiness!”

Jackie, who shares a birthday with his mother, posted his own message in honor of Katherine.

“Happy Birthday to the most incredible woman I know – my beautiful mother and the matriarch of our family, Katherine Jackson,” he wrote. “There’s no one I’d rather share my birthday with. Your strength, love, and wisdom have shaped who I am, and I’m forever grateful. Here’s to many more celebrations together. Love you always.”

More 2Pac & Biggie Bars On Deck From Mystery Producer?

Just when you think you’ve heard it all, it turns out there might be even more to uncover. Over this past weekend, I got some intel—and I’m gonna share it with you. I heard that someone is in possession of two unreleased verses from two rappers who have since passed away. And not just any rappers—these are legends. Over the years, their music, likeness, and stories have been used over and over again. You’d think there’d be nothing left. But leave it to Hip-Hop to leave no stone unturned.

I’m talking about Tupac and Biggie!

Yes, I’m hearing some incredible news: there are still two lingering verses from these icons, my sources say. I don’t even know how that’s possible. From what I know, there’s nothing left! 2Pac might have some material locked in a vault or something that leaked once upon a time, but for the most part, everything’s been used. Biggie, on the other hand, I’ve been told he has absolutely nothing left. Fat Joe once said there was a full album that existed, but it was deleted, so that became a non-issue. (Forget the fact that some folks say that’s not true!)

Anyway, there’s a producer—based in New York City—who supposedly has these verses. How he plans to release them? That’s anyone’s guess. But word is, he does plan to release them.

Now, I’m not about to drop the name of this producer because that would leak my own info and expose my source. But I have good reason to believe this is legit. The producer is a heavyweight, well-respected and very dope. So, if anybody could pull this off, it’s him. By the way, it is not Easy Mo Bee, but he’s incredible!

My only concern? I worry about the legal forces that will probably swoop in once this goes public. But who knows? Maybe those issues have already been worked out. I guess we’ll find out soon enough. From what I hear, this is all part of the producer’s big return to the music industry. He never really stopped working, but this… this would definitely put him back on the map.

Let’s have some fun!

EXCLUSIVE: Misa Hylton’s Family Ties Collide As Diddy Trial Begins & Mary J. Blige Case Continues

Diddy‘s federal sex trafficking trial got underway on Monday (May 5), but another storm is brewing as the case impacts his extended family.

Misa Hylton and R&B legend Mary J. Blige are embroiled in a legal case that captivated the internet, but Hylton’s lawyer said the Diddy matter has shaken the family up.

Nicholas Ramcharitar, Hylton’s counsel, told AllHipHop she’s a great mother trying to protect her children.

“The number one thing I can say about Misa Hylton is that she is a wonderful mother,” he said. “She has beautiful kids. Both Christian and Justin are fantastic young men. I’ve had the opportunity to meet them, work with them in some capacity, and it’s clear they are a testament to how well Misa and Sean raised them.”

Ramcharitar also stated it’s been difficult to maintain normalcy in the midst of the legal chaos: “Now, with the trial going on, the kids being close to their father, and Misa maintaining a great working relationship with Sean, it’s been tough.”

Ramcharitar also revealed that the legal action against Mary J. Blige for alleged breach of contract over rapper Vado has impacted his client emotionally. According to the complaint, Vado, who’s signed to Blige’s imprint, was removed from key music opportunities, including tours and recording sessions. Misa Hylton maintains that this is in violation of their agreement.

Ramcharitar said she tried to avoid it.

“This has taken a real emotional toll on her,” he said. “We genuinely tried everything we could to avoid this. Misa would call me five, six times a day. She’d call my office staff just as much, asking, ‘How do we keep her out of this? How do we not involve Mary?’ Because she didn’t want this. This isn’t what she needed right now.

“But unfortunately, it became warranted. And yeah, it’s taken a toll. She’s not happy about it. This is not something we wanted to do. We tried for nearly a year to avoid this. But the breach had serious financial consequences for Misa, and it left Vado in limbo.”

Hylton is a trailblazing fashion architect credited with defining early Bad Boy style and co-parenting her son Justin Combs.

The lawsuit against Blige comes just as Diddy, Blige’s longtime friend and collaborator, begins one of the most high-profile criminal trials in entertainment history.

Diddy faces a sweeping federal indictment that includes charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and transporting women across state lines for illegal purposes. The government alleges that over the span of two decades, the mogul used his influence to create a network of coercion and abuse.

For Hylton, who shares a son with Diddy and has remained connected to both him and Blige through decades of friendship and collaboration, the timing couldn’t be more complicated.

Diddy’s trial began today with jury selection under tight security. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges. Prosecutors are expected to present testimony and evidence, including the 2016 surveillance video involving his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. His legal team will argue that all relationships were consensual.

But for Hylton, she’s involved in two personal fallouts related to two people she once called family.

“She didn’t want this,” Ramcharitar said. “She’s not happy. But she’s standing on what’s right.”

Russell Simmons extended an olive branch to his ex-wife, Kimora Lee Simmons, over the weekend.

On Sunday (May 4), Kimora’s 50th birthday, the Def Jam Recordings co-founder penned a heartfelt message for her on Instagram, a sign he’s trying put their contentious past to rest and move into a new phase.

Russell Simmons and Kimora Lee, who share two daughters, were married from 1998 to 2009. Since their divorce, they’ve had a rollercoaster relationship. Kimora was in Russell’s corner when he was accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women beginning in 2017, but their relationship soon started to deteriorate.

In 2021, Russell sued Kimora, accusing her and estranged husband Tim Leissner of breach of contract, fraudulent concealment and breach of confidential relations/constructive fraud, among other charges. He alleged that he, Kimora and Leissner entered a business arrangement in 2016, when the couple joined his investment company, Nu Horizons.

During their time working for Nu Horizons, the organization made “considerable investments” in the “tens of millions of dollars” range to energy fitness drink brand Celsius Holdings, Inc., a publicly traded company.

The suit continues to claim that when Leissner was arrested on separate money laundering charges in 2017, he and Lee “conspired” to use their stake in Celsius to “fraudulently transfer” almost four million Celsius shares to themselves. Leissner pleaded guilty to criminal conspiracy to commit money laundering for the theft of billions of dollars from Malaysian wealth fund 1MDB in 2018.

In order to avoid jail time, he agreed to forfeit nearly $44 million. Russell claimed he didn’t find out about the fraud until July 2019. Kimora’s attorneys said in a statement to E! News at the time, “We will confront his baseless claims… Our team is actively working to put a firm end to his harassment.”

A judge has scheduled the trial for January 2, 2026, in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Kevin Gates & Brittany Renner Spark Marriage Rumors With Red Carpet Outing

Brittany Renner dropped the word “husband” and flashed a ring at the Basketball Wives LA premiere, fueling rumors that she and Kevin Gates may be engaged—or already married.

Speaking to PeopleStyle at the Season 12 launch party in Los Angeles, Renner didn’t hold back when asked about her relationship with Gates. “His name echoes in every chamber of my heart,” she said. “And he’s, I don’t… It’s hard to describe a love like that.”

She added, “All I can say is that I’m with the person that I quite literally dreamed of. And to be able to just wake up next to him and spend time with him – even to have him here behind me, it’s like, so surreal. I’m like, oh my God, I love him! Yeah, he’s just the most beautiful person inside and out that I’ve ever met. And I’m just so thankful that Allah blessed me with him.”

Brittany Renner Gushes Over Kevin Gates

Renner, who also spoke about her conversion to Islam, referred to Gates as her “huzband” in an Instagram caption from the event.

“‘You don’t fit on this show and that’s why you’re a fit for this show,”” she captioned one post. “Last night at the #BasketballWives Season 12 premiere party with my huzband.”

Though the couple hasn’t confirmed any legal union, the combination of her language and the noticeable ring on her finger has only added to the speculation.

Renner and Gates have been romantically linked on and off since 2018, with their relationship becoming more public again in 2022.

Since early 2025, they’ve been seen together regularly at events and across social media.

Renner previously shared a photo of the two with the caption, “When Allah places something in your heart, nothing can stand in its way.”

Despite some online chatter questioning Gates’ commitment or suggesting he seemed distracted, the rapper has stood by Renner. He addressed criticism directly, saying, “All I have is the little that God bless me with.”

Yes, André 3000 Really Does Need Help Finding His Missing Notebook

André 3000 fans hoping for a new album from the illustrious MC might be out of luck.

Days after the rumor mill started churning about a possible album rollout, his team is pushing back on the narrative, insisting he really is trying to find his missing notebook.

“He really is seeking help on finding it,” his team told AllHipHop. “It contains sketches and he’s hoping someone in Amsterdam will have picked it up from wherever it was lost.”

The Outkast co-founder and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee sent out the bat signal last week, asking fans to locate his missing notebook. Posters began popping up all over Amsterdam that read, “MISSING: Have you seen this notebook? Blue two-tone hardcover. Last seen in Amsterdam Noord March 29. Black sketches and notes inside. Any information is appreciated. Thank you, Andre 3000.”

He included an email address specifically created for the retrieval mission.

While Outkast has long been put to rest, André 3000’s solo career seems to just be getting started—although it’s not quite what people expected.

In 2024, he released an experimental jazz album called New Blue Sun, which heavily revolved around the flute. The first song, “I Swear, I Really Wanted to Make a ‘Rap’ Album but This Is Literally the Way the Wind Blew Me This Time” kind of said it all. The project netted multiple Grammy Award nominations in February, including Album of the Year.

The Rock Hall inductees were announced on April 27 during an episode of American Idol. In addition to Outkast, Bad Company, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Cyndi Lauper, Soundgarden and The White Stripes were named in the performers category. In the Musical Influence Award category were Salt-n-Pepa and Warren Zevon, while Thom Bell, Nicky Hopkins and Carol Kaye landed in the Musical Excellence Award category. Producer Lenny Waronker will also be honored with the Ahmet Ertegun Award.

Killer Mike—who won his first Grammy Award for his guest vocals on Outkast’s 2001 single “The Whole World”—told AllHipHop, “The South has truly said something, time and time again and did it while remaining players and so fresh and so clean every step of the way. Thank you Outkast, Organized Noize and RIP Rico Wade.”
