Juicy J Stars As James Harden In “Step Back” Music Video

Juicy J teamed up with Quality Control signee Duke Deuce for the “Step Back” collaboration. The two Memphis-raised rappers presented a basketball theme for the Video God-directed visuals.

In particular, Juicy J dressed up as a perennial NBA All-Star for the clip. The 47-year-old Academy Award winner transformed into Philadelphia 76ers player James Harden for “Step Back.”

“Walking on the money, it’s a money carpet. Thirteen thousand, James Harden,” raps Juicy J on the song. He also namedrops 2-time NBA champion J.R. Smith.

Meanwhile, Duke Deuce shows up in Juicy’s “Step Back” video wearing Ja Morant’s #12 jersey. Morant, the NBA’s 2019-2020 Rookie Of The Year, led the Memphis Grizzlies to the 2022 playoffs.

The Golden State Warriors currently lead the Memphis Grizzlies (1-0) in the best-of-seven NBA Western Conference Semifinals. James Harden and the Philadelphia 76ers (0-1) trail the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference series.

Juicy J is coming off the release of Stoner’s Night with Wiz Khalifa. That collaborative project landed back in February of this year. The Three 6 Mafia member dropped his most recent solo effort, The Hustle Continues, in 2020.

Duke Deuce let loose his Duke Nukem project in February 2021. The 29-year-old rhymer previously collaborated with Juicy J for the “Crunk Ain’t Dead” remix. Deuce also featured southern rap legends Lil Jon and Project Pat on that posse cut.

Nicki Minaj Explains Wardrobe Malfunction At Met Gala

Hip Hop superstar Nicki Minaj was among the celebrities to make an appearance at the 2022 Met Gala on Monday. Unfortunately, the native New Yorker nearly had a really embarrassing moment on the red carpet.

While showcasing her Ricardo Tisci-designed dress outside the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Nicki Minaj repeatedly had to pose with her arms across her chest. Apparently, her Burberry gown did not fit properly.

“The only unplanned thing about my look is my boobs popping out. Because they made my cup size a little small,” Minaj told Vogue‘s on-site, live stream correspondent La La Anthony.

The 39-year-old “Do We Have A Problem?” rapper added, “Enjoy these t###### because y’all ain’t gonna ever see them again. I told everybody that.”

Nicki Minaj Said She Missed The 2021 Met Gala Due To COVID-19 Policies

This year marked the return of Nicki Minaj to the Met Gala. She supposedly missed last year’s event because the organizers required proof of COVID-19 vaccination to enter the building.

Nicki Minaj ignited an international media firestorm while trying to explain her refusal to get vaccinated for the 2021 Met Gala. Government officials from the United States and Trinidad and Tobago had to debunk Minaj’s unfounded warnings about alleged vaccination side effects.

“They want you to get vaccinated for the Met. If I get vaccinated it won’t [be] for the Met. It’ll be once I feel I’ve done enough research. I’m working on that now. In the meantime my loves, be safe. Wear the mask with 2 strings that grips your head & face. Not that loose one 🙏♥️,” tweeted Nicki Minaj in September 2021.

She also added, “My cousin in Trinidad won’t get the vaccine cuz his friend got it & became impotent. His testicles became swollen. His friend was weeks away from getting married, now the girl called off the wedding. So just pray on it & make sure you’re comfortable with ur decision, not bullied.”

Future’s ‘I Never Liked You’ Sets 2022 Apple Music Streaming Record

I Never Liked You is on pace to be the best-selling album of the week. Future’s ninth studio LP reportedly collected 60 million streams in the United States on its first day of release.

Many of those streams came from Apple Music users. In fact, I Never Liked You broke a couple of Apple Music global streaming records for 2022.

On April 29, Future’s I Never Liked You broke Apple Music’s worldwide record for the highest first-day streams for an album released in 2022. The project also broke Apple Music’s worldwide record for the highest first-day streams for a Hip Hop album released in Spatial Audio.

Future linked with Kanye West, Gunna, Young Thug, Drake, Tems, EST Gee, and Kodak Black for I Never Liked You. A deluxe version of the Epic-backed LP arrived on Monday.

The I Never Liked You extended edition includes features by Lil Durk, Young Scooter, Lil Baby, Babyface Ray, and 42 Dugg. Future spoke about the deluxe during an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1.

“I just really wanted to just keep feeding the streets, but at the same time, I already had picked the album and it was just like, I still had more songs that I wanted to put on the album,” explained Future.

Fans of the Atlanta-based Freebandz frontman can expect more songs in the near future. In addition to his own music, Future plans to promote tracks by acts like Lil Double 0 and Real Boston Richey.

Did A Weed Policy Prevent Wiz Khalifa From Attending The Met Gala?

The annual Met Gala took place last night in New York City. Some of the most famous celebrities in the world attended the fashion event, but Hip Hop artist Wiz Khalifa was not at the fundraiser.

According to Wiz Khalifa, the Met Gala’s policy on smoking marijuana prevented him from showing up at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He took to Twitter to explain.

“They were scared of me smoking on the red carpet or at the event so no Met Gala. I don’t blame em but weed is legal dude, sheesh,” tweeted Wiz Khalifa on Monday night.

According to the New York state government website, the Marijuana Regulation and Taxation Act legalizes recreational cannabis use for adults 21 years of age or older. The MRTA passed in March 2021.

“I did it last time and they freaked out apparently. With a doob of course,” tweeted Wiz Khalifa in response to a Twitter user. He also added, “I’ll just be buffer and more stoned next year anyway.”

Last year, Nicki Minaj skipped the Met Gala over the event’s COVID-19 vaccination requirements. Around the same time, Minaj received significant backlash for alleging her cousin’s friend became impotent after getting vaccinated.

While Wiz Khalifa missed the Met Gala this year, some big names from music, sports, television, film, and fashion made it to the event. The guest list included Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Gunna, Lizzo, SZA, Normani, Ciara, Kim Kardashian, Pete Davidson, Kylie Jenner, Gabrielle Union, Dwyane Wade, Odell Beckham Jr., and many more.

Headie One Teases New Music “Coming Very Soon”

Headie One fans have had a long wait for new music from the North London rapper who hasn’t dropped anything new since the Too Loyal For My Own Good Mixtape last year.

While he appeared with frequent collaborator M Huncho on “Warzone” back in February, Headie One is yet to put out a single in 2022. However, the wait will soon be over as the “Hear No Evil” rapper announced new music is coming. He shared a snippet of the visuals and revealed the song is “coming very soon.”

“Eid Mubarak my peoples💥New music time🌪🌪🌪,” Headie One wrote. “Comment below if ur ready for this one🔓 @M1onthebeat🤞🏾”

The first-ever drill artist to score a U.K. No.1 song was inspired by Coke Wave rappers Max B and French Montana. During a recent interview, he recalled listening to the New York rappers back in high school. “They had a different kind of style of music, a bit slower,” Headie One explained. “That just opened up my ears and got me into more experimenting, trying to accept different kinds of sounds.”

Headie One experienced a wide variety of music tastes growing up in multi-cultural Tottenham in North London. “When I was growing up there was always music playing on the estate. You’d just hear music 24/7 through your window or in your house. On the radio when you go to school. It became second nature really, just listening to music, and different kinds of music, whether it was dancehall or rap music or hip-hop music. You just built a relationship with music from when you were young.”

Fans of Headie One can reminisce over one of his biggest hits while waiting for his latest offering. Check out “18Hunna,” featuring Dave, below.

The D.O.C. “Proud” Of Snoop Dogg For Acquisition Of Death Row Records

Death Row Records co-founder The D.O.C. recently discussed Snoop Dogg’s acquisition of the record label during an interview with HipHopDx, praising the rapper for his achievements.

“I’m proud of Snoop and everything he’s accomplished and all the things that he’s going to do,” D.O.C. shared. “And every moment of his adult life, he is still showing me what it means to be a great guy and great human being. The guy is f###### everywhere [laughs]. I mean, he’s in the grocery store, he’s on the billboards, on my freeways — he’s everywhere.”

D.O.C. added that Snoop Dogg’s transition from rapper to Death Row executive sets an example for the next generation, demonstrating a model of success outside of being an artist.

“Being integrated into the system in a meaningful way helps us to sort of reprogram or de program some of the things that may be not so positive with [Hip Hop], because it’s really all about the money,” he explained. “So, you can show these kids that there are multiple ways to get out here in this business and make a great living through this means.”

Snoop Dogg announced that he had acquired Death Row in February 2022 from MNRK Music Group. He went on to release his third studio album, Bacc On Death Row, through the record label just days after the acquisition. A few days after that, he revealed his plans for Death Row to enter the metaverse and become an NFT record label.

Snoop Dogg Announces Plans For Death Row App

During a recent appearance on Drink Champs, Snoop Dogg discussed his decision to remove most of the label’s catalog from streaming platforms.

“First thing I did was snatch all the music off those platforms traditionally known to people, because those platforms don’t pay,” Snoop Dogg revealed. “And those platforms get millions of millions of streams, and nobody gets paid other than the record labels. So what I wanted to do is snatch my music off, create a platform similar to Amazon, Netflix, Hulu. It’ll be a Death Row app, and the music, in the meantime, will live in the metaverse.”

The Kardashians Defeat Blac Chyna In $100 Million Defamation Trial

While the Kardashians were preparing to unveil their looks at the Met Gala in Manhattan on Monday night (May 2), a jury ruled in their favor in Blac Chyna’s $108 million defamation lawsuit against them.

After two days of deliberations, the Los Angeles jury decided Kris Jenner and her daughters Khloe Kardashian and Kylie Jenner owed no damages to the former reality star. They found that none of the women defamed Chyna, nor did they convince the E! Network to cancel the Rob & Chyna show.

According to reports, the jury decided the famous family had “reasonable grounds” to believe the allegedly defamatory statements they made about Chyna, even if they later turned out to be false.

They also found that the Kardashians were not necessarily justified in telling Rob & Chyna show execs that Chyna physically abused Rob Kardashian. However, they found it did not play a significant role in the outcome of the show or on Blac Chyna’s contract.

The Kardashians “Very Pleased” With The Trial Result

The Kardashian-Jenner lawyer Michael Rhodes said his clients were “very pleased” with the outcome of the case.

“On behalf of Kris, Kim, Khloé, and Kylie, I want to express our appreciation to the jury. We are also grateful for the steady hand of Judge [Gregory] Alarcon in making sure that this was a fair trial. The jury sent a clear message to Ms. White and her lawyer – I hope they are listening. Justice has prevailed,” lawyers for the family said in a statement to Rolling Stone

Meanwhile, Blac Chyna’s lawyer, Lynne Ciani, vowed to appeal the verdict.

Black Chyna accused the Kardashians of defaming her and trying to cancel her reality show with Rob Kardashian. Most of the members of the famous family testified throughout the trial, with some of the most explosive statements coming from Kris’ boyfriend, Corey Gamble

The Kardashians claimed Blac Chyna threatened to kill Rob and put a gun to his head, while Chyna claimed she was only joking.

Nonetheless, the Kardashian family women were out in force at the Met Gala on Monday, celebrating their legal victory.

Hip-Hop Does “Gilded Glamour” For 2022 Met Gala: See All The Best Dressed

The Met Gala is one of the most dazzling nights on the fashion calendar, so it’s no surprise Hip-Hop showed out on the red, white and blue carpet last night (May 2).

The stars donned their most exquisite threads to attend the prestigious event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The 2022 Met Gala’s theme is In America: An Anthology of Fashion, or “Gilded Glamour,” however, not everyone stuck to the dress code.

Some of rap’s finest and most fashionable stars dazzled on the night, opulence dripping from their luxurious threads.

Cardi B

While Cardi B has given us some memorable Met Gala looks in the past, this year was no different. The “WAP” hitmaker was accompanied by fashion maven Donatella Versace and wore one of her stunning designs.

She then thanked the designer for allowing her to “showcase” her stunning Versace gown and told La La Anthony she loved the night’s “gold, regal” theme.

Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj made headlines last year when she said she would not be attending the 2021 Met Gala due to their COVID-19 safety protocols. She then tweeted about her Trinidadian cousin’s testicles and went viral, keeping the internet in a frenzy for some time

However, this year, Nicki was stunning in an all-black ensemble complete with matching fitted, designed by her “baby” Ricardo Tisci for Burberry. During her red-carpet chat with La La, Nicki revealed she was only there in support of the designer.

Rapper 50 Cent Pulls ‘The Massacre’ From STARZ

50 Cent’s war with Starz continues to escalate. The rap star just revealed he is pulling his lasted project, “Moment In Time: The Massacre” from the network.

He made the announcement on social media.

https://www.instagram.com/p/Cc-ikh5OMkh/

“Hey guys i decided i don’t want to move forward with The Massacre in STARZ production slate,” 50 Cent said. “It’s a waste of time and money, and it doesn’t fit the new Premium women’s mandate over there. It was a companion piece with snoops (Murder was the case) Ill find a new network better fit to tell my story Lionsgate.”

This series is reportedly based on the Houston resident’s 2005 beef with his former artist, The Game. It would be the first autobiographical endeavor the rapper-turned-TV producer has made.

Last week, 50 Cent announced the cable network STARZ, the home of his “BMF” and “Power” shows, would not be airing his new series, “Murder was the Case,” a project based on the historic trial with Snoop Dogg in 1993.

The news comes after the “How to Rob” rapper announced he was producing the forthcoming sports heist thriller “Free Agents” with veteran filmmaker Deon Taylor with Lionsgate, the parent company of Starz.

“50 has been legendary in all ways I have been extremely impressed by his amazing energy on screen and his ability to light up every scene he is in,” said Taylor. “I truly believe this extremely complex role will truly allow the world to understand just how unbelievably talented 50 is as an artist.”

No word where “The Massacre” will land.

Zilla has performed in top clubs in Dallas and Miami, such as Bottled Blonde, Citizen, Green Light Social, and many others. He says his goal as both a DJ and producer is to create inspiring and entertaining music that will positively impact his audience and elevate their nightlife experience.

“Music has always been part of my life and has helped me through some of the darkest moments. As it is one of the few things in the world that transcends all distances, I want to use music to help other people, spread positivity, and create a vibrant community,” says Zillamatic.

Zillamatic uses his platform to help and guide up-and-coming DJs while sharing his story with the rest of the world. He has started a consulting company, Adept Music, that assists DJs in staying connected in the music world and getting gigs easily.

He took a huge risk and followed his passion, starting his journey in the music industry. Zillamatic began as a bedroom producer, making short mixes that he notes were heavily influenced by Skrillex and the dubstep movement of the time. Through hard work and dedication, his skills also improved, and within no time, he was playing in clubs around Dallas.

50 Cent was the adult beverage sponsor for the “Bigger and Better” event in Houston, an activation that also had the American Cancer Society tagged as a sponsor.

According to a highly produced Instagram post, 50 Cent sent hundreds of Le Chemin du Roi bottles of champagne to flood the event held at Union Station in Houston, TX.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CdCp9DjjQrv/

The event was massive and had scores of people donned in big 10-gallon hats, ready to participate in a Tenenbaum Jeweler’s pig race.

While people of all races raved about the artist’s champagne, he is seen in one scene of the recap feeding a black pig some chocolate Oreo cookies.

Tory Lanez Allegedly Contacted Megan Thee Stallion’s Hairdresser With Payoff Offer After Shooting

Megan thee Stallion’s hairstylist and friend Jonathan Wright claims Tory Lanez definitely shot the Grammy Award-winner in 2020 after a party in the Hollywood Hills.

According to an interview he did with “Beyond The Chair” podcast, hairdresser to the stars Jonathan Wright said the chart-topping contacted him directly after the shooting to facilitate a pay-off.

The man said he was so angry with Tory Lanez that at one point, he wanted to put his hands on him.

He said, “The n##ga DM’ed me! I’m like ‘Yo, you went the wrong way,'” Jonathan Wright said.

Jonathan Wright said that when he first heard about the shooting incident, where Tory Lanez allegedly shot Megan thee Stallion in her feet, he “wanted to beat Tory ass.”

“And still to this day, if he run up its done up,” Wright promised.

When asked “why do people think it didn’t happen,” he assured the hosts, “Oh, it happened.”

“It happened. It ain’t no fake,” Wright said. “When you doing court s##t, stuff prolongs, and it takes time. It might die down; it might come back to life. But at the end of the day, that’s what happened.”

After the shooting, Tory Lanez allegedly sent Wright an emoji. Still, he was offended because he knew what had happened to Megan. Wright recalled saying to himself, “You just shot my friend.”

When asked how he felt about the backlash Megan received, Wright said he didn’t feel any type of way and explained, “I’m right here by her side.”

CREEPY: Pete Davidson Debuts Neck Tattoos Of Kanye And Kim’s Kids’ Initials

Pete Davidson has seemingly got a new tattoo that honors his girlfriend Kim Kardashian and her four children.

The “Saturday Night Live” comedian was photographed with the new ink on his neck as he left the “Netflix Is A Joke: The Festival” in Los Angeles over the weekend.

The tattoo, which appears to read KNSCP, could be seen on the right side of Pete’s neck. Fans suspect the acronym stands for Kim and her children: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.

Speaking to Ellen DeGeneres, Kim previously revealed Pete has “a few” tattoos that honor her, including the chest ink which reads, “My Girl Is A Lawyer,” about the SKIMS founder’s law studies, and Kim’s name branded into his skin in all capitals.

The new ink was not visible when they made their red carpet debut as a couple at the 2022 White House correspondents’ dinner on Saturday.

Kim wore a glittering silver gown by Balenciaga, while Pete wore a black Prada suit paired with Vans sneakers.

Neither Pete nor Kim has confirmed fans’ reading of his new tattoo.

Pusha-T Addresses Alleged “Beef” With Eminem

Pusha-T has shut down rumors suggesting he has issues with Eminem.

King Push recently appeared on “The Morning Hustle,” where he was asked about the speculation that he has been feuding with the “Lose Yourself” rapper.

In response, Pusha-T insisted that the gossip was inaccurate.

“I saw just recently on Twitter people saying myself and Eminem,” Pusha-T commented. “I’m like, bro! It was a misinterpretation of something I don’t even remember. Something I said or whatever. But you know, people decode, and they have their own thing.”

Pusha-T, real name Terrence Thornton, provided no details about the purported rumors but clarified he has nothing against his fellow hip-hop star.

“Nah, man! Em is somebody that I respect,” the 44-year-old insisted.

Referencing Eminem’s 1998 appearance in the Lyricist Lounge showcase, Pusha continued, “He’s one of them people that I really like what he does because, after all of his success, I can still find Lyricist Lounge Eminem. That’s a goal for me, personally.”

Pusha-T released his latest album, It’s Almost Dry, last month. The album debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart.

Guap has now released an official “Black Iverson” music video as well. Chris Simmons (Guapdad 4000’s “She Wanna,” Kamaiyah’s “F### It Up”) directed the visuals for the Allen Iverson-inspired, K.FISHA-produced song.

“The goal for this video was to portray Guap in an organic light,” states Chris Simmons. “It was inspiring for us to go back to our roots with the style in which we shot it. You’ll see what I mean with the particular angles I selected and the way in which I approached it.”

During his run as Guapdad 4000, the TWNSHP recording artist presented Dior Deposits in 2019 and 1176 with Illmind in 2021. Guap was also one of the standout performers on Dreamville’s chart-topping Revenge of the Dreamers III compilation.

“Black Iverson” follows Guap’s “I Need Bands” single which landed in January. His discography also contains “Prada Process” featuring 6lack and “Gucci Pajamas” featuring Chance The Rapper and Charlie Wilson.

Guap’s lone entry on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart came as a guest on Dreamville’s “Costa Rica” collaboration. That Platinum-certified song also featured Bas, JID, Reese LAFLARE, Jace, Mez, Smokepurpp, Buddy, and Ski Mask The Slump God.
