Big Sean Share Photos Of The Movie Theatre He’s Building In Detroit

Big Sean has announced that he is building a movie theatre in his native Detroit.

Sean began construction back in 2018 but like so many pre-pandemic plans, he had to put the project on hold.  Now, as restrictions have eased, Big Sean and Emagine are back to work. The “Bounce Back” rapper took to social media to show his followers the lot where the movie theatre is currently being built.

“Building my 1st movie theatre in Detroit, pandemic slowed us down but it’s on the way!!!” He said proudly. “A dream come true, what else should I put in here? Arcade? Lounge? Bowling? A intimate Venue? Community Center? Let me know”

Back in 2018 when Big Sean first announced his plans the theatre was intended to be a multi-purpose venue. The proposal featured 10 to 12 movie screens as well as a 300-seat auditorium. Since then, Big Sean may have upgraded a few ideas. At the time, he had this to say:

“There is no major movie theater in the city of Detroit — this makes no sense to me. I feel that it is necessary to build a theater in the city, not only because of the joy and inspiration movies will bring to people’s lives, but I hope this theater will become a hub of creativity — a place for intimate concerts, lectures, meetings, and other events.”

Big Sean released a video from his surprise collaboration EP with Hit-Boy, ‘What You Expect.’ The visuals for ‘The One’ dropped on November 9. The pair have already released videos for the tracks ‘What A Life’ and ‘Loyal To A Fault’ from the EP. Watch it below.

Travis Scott Legal Rep Accuses City Officials Of ”Finger Pointing” in Astroworld Investigation

Travis Scott’s legal representative has issued a statement claiming there are inconsistencies surrounding the investigation into the tragedy at Astroworld this weekend.

Ed McPherson told TMZ, “There has been multiple finger-pointing, much of which has been by city officials, who have sent inconsistent messages and have backtracked from original statements.”

He continues, “Houston Police Chief Troy Finner was quoted in the New York Times as saying, “You cannot just close when you got 50,000 and over 50,000 individuals. We have to worry about rioting, riots, when you have a group that’s that young.” Yet, just a short time later, Chief Finner states the responsibility to stop the show falls on Travis.”

McPherson says, “It was reported that the Operations Plan designated that only the festival director and executive producers have authority to stop the show, neither of which is part of Travis’s crew. This also runs afoul of HPD’s own previous actions when it shut down the power and sound at this very festival when the performance ran over 5 minutes back in 2019.”

Travis Scott’s rep finishes, “Investigations should start proceeding over finger pointing so that together, we can identify exactly what transpired and how we can prevent anything like this from happening again.”

The statement comes following claims that members of the Houston Police Department were recording Travis Scott performing nearly half an hour after a mass casualty event had been declared. TMZ poses the question, ‘if they didn’t know … how would Travis?”

According to TMZ, the Fire Chief announced a “mass casualty event” at 9:38 PM. Timestamps on a photo of police recording the event display the time as 9:57 PM. 19 minutes after the chief made his declaration.

TMZ has obtained another video from Astroworld they say was filmed 25 minutes after the mass casualty declaration. Cops can be seen walking in file past the stage where Travis Scott is performing. Again, the suggestion is the cops were oblivious to the tragic events progressing around them.

Another Dealer Pleads Guilty In Drug Case Related To Mac Miller’s Death

A second man is pleading guilty for his role in Mac Miller’s death.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Ryan Michael Reavis will plead guilty to one count of distributing fentanyl. He is accused of supplying counterfeit pills containing fentanyl to the drug dealer who allegedly sold them to Mac Miller.

The 38-year-old man admitted he supplied counterfeit oxycodone pills to Cameron James Pettit. The feds say Pettit is the dealer who sold the drugs to Mac Miller.

Reavis is the second person in the case to reach a plea deal. His agreement was announced a few weeks after his co-defendant Stephen Andrew Walter agreed to plead guilty to one count of distribution of fentanyl.

Walter conceded he instructed Reavis to distribute fentanyl-laced pills to Pettit. As part of his plea deal, prosecutors dropped a conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance charge against the 48-year-old man.

Reavis and Walter are expected to plead guilty in front of a judge in Los Angeles in the coming weeks. Both men are facing a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

Pettit’s case is still pending.

Mac Miller, whose real name was Malcolm McCormick, died from an accidental overdose in 2018. He was 26 years old.

Is This Why Jay-Z Jumped Off IG So Fast?

A lot of people are speculating that Jay-Z got off of Instagram super fast because he was attempting to promote a movie. “The Harder They Fall” is a certified hit on Netflix and a large part of the success of the film was due to Jay-Z’s vast promotion as producer. Now, there’s new light shed on the mogul’s entrance into Instagram. As many have noted, Jay-Z put up a single post, followed by following wife Beyoncé, and then quickly departed from the app. He was literally on there for 24 hours! Everybody was tweeting him and @’ing him trying to speak to the gawd. He was literally on there 24 hours!

Now, there is a new revelation that suggests that maybe Jay-Z got off the app for another reason. According to report from Complex magazine, Jay-Z was urged by the FBI to delete his emails because a HACK of his information was definitely coming. By this time, we know a lot of rappers do get hacked by virtue of DM’s and other methods on the social media app. I think the famous DJ and producer Pete Rock was hacked took recently. I think some people tried to scam people throught his account. With Jay, we don’t know for sure, but it sure seems like there could be a connection with Feds’ warning and the IG deletion.. I am not certain as to the validity of these claims but anything is possible.

Chicago Rapper and Music Industry CEO Gustavo Bands Continues to Show Growth A Decade into his Career

“Over time, I just got better and met more people who actually took making music seriously.” Chicago rapper Gustavo Bands knew that he was going to take music seriously when he was only 15 years old. Writing and recording songs in his makeshift closet studio while still in high school, the grind for success in the music industry has been a long one for Gustavo Bands. Continued dedication and a myriad of influences have turned the once starry-eyed rap hopeful into a real artistic and entrepreneurial force in the Chicago music scene. “Before I knew it, I had developed my own sound, and here I am,” he joyfully remarks.

Now a fixture in the Chicago music scene for close to a decade, Gustavo Bands has racked up an impressive list of titles. First and foremost, as an artist, he has worked hard to perfect his pop-influenced hip-hop style. With a solid collection of his own releases, along with some feature verses, the Chicago rapper has proven his talent and says there is much more music that he is ready to share with the world. “I got over 1,000 songs in the vault,” Gustavo Bands states. “I’m thinking about dropping saga of EPs and an album in 2022.”

An ambitious feat indeed, but releasing his own music is only the start for Gustavo Bands. On top of his recording dreams, Gustavo Bands is also the CEO of his own label: ThurlBred Entertainment. When first finding his footing as an artist in Chicago, Gustavo Bands helped other local artists with their songwriting. That drive to help others only grew into what is now a vessel for artists to share their music with the world. As for his own music, the Chicago rapper recently dropped the pop-trap fusion track “Street Lights.” Once again, with this release, Gustavo Bands has shown growth as an artist, and the results of the track are promising for what is to come in 2022.

EXCLUSIVE: Casanova Charged With Attempted Murder

Rapper Casanova was just handed more bad news as he sits in jail for racketeering with the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation.

Casanova was arrested in December of 2020 and charged with conspiracy to commit racketeering, conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

Unfortunately, a grand jury has returned a new superseding indictment accused the rapper of more crimes.

Casanova has been charged with an incident on October 24th, 2020, in Miami, Florida, in front of a popular strip club. The rapper was in front of the King of Diamonds nightclub when he argued with a rival member of the Crips.

The Crip gang member took issue with Casanova flashing gang signs as he took pictures with fans. He yelled to the rap star, “yo homie, wrong sign.”

Casanova allegedly responded, “you want to die tonight?”

An associate with Casanova named Jarrett “Jayecee” Chrisler Jr. drew a gun and shot two people during the altercation.

The gang member was shot in the stomach, and another person was hit by gunfire. Both were airlifted to a local hospital and treated for their bullet wounds.

To make the case more complicated for Casanova, prosecutors seized Chrisler’s phone and caught him bragging about the shooting to another associate.

Casanova put together a $2,500,000 million package in a motion for bond, but the allegations of his involvement in the double shooting with Chrisler ruined his chance at freedom.

And now Casanova is officially facing prison time for the shooting in Miami.

The Feds charged Casanova and Chrisler with attempted murder and assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering.

The grand jury also charged Casanova and a co-defendant named DeShawn “Don” Thomas for another violent quarrel on July 5th, 2020.

According to the indictment, the pair assaulted an individual with a dangerous weapon in New York, and they also shot at rival gang members in Miami during another unrelated incident.

Casanova and Thomas are charged with assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering.

Members of the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation have been charged with murder, distributing hundreds of kilos of marijuana, 5 kilos of cocaine, 1 kilo of heroin, and more than 280 grams of crack cocaine.

Prosecutors have already secured plea deals against several high rankings members of the gang.

Brandon “Untouchable Dot” Nieves, Jamal “Trap Smoke” Trent, Shanay “Easy” Outlaw, Jordan “Flow” Ingram, Stephen “Chino” Hugh and Brinae Thornton, the alleged godmother of the Money Gang of Cave of Gorilla Stone have pleaded guilty and are awaiting sentencing.

One member, Brandon Soto, is eligible for the death penalty for his role in shooting and killing an underage teenager in Poughkeepsie, New York.

Casanova has pleaded not guilty to the crimes and maintains he is being prosecuted simply for the company he kept.

“Mr. Senior’s persona as a rap artist is not his personal persona… after seeking to debunk our claim that Mr. Senior is being prosecuted based on his career as a rap artist, the government submitted a post of a weapon with the caption ‘Gripped Up.’ ‘Gripped Up’ is a rap song that was recorded by Mr. Senior days prior to the posting.”

Casanova may have known the superseding indictment was coming, based on an Instagram post last week.

He wrote: “MIGHT DIE IN HERE BUT ALWAYS REMEMBER WHATS ‘GANGSTA’ CAUSE THIS JAIL S### AINT “GANGSTA’ AT ALL HOPE YOU YOUNG N##### BEAT THE ODDS.”

Casanova faces a minimum of 15 years and a maximum of life in prison if he is convicted.

Jay-Z Victorious In $68 Million Battle With Perfume Company

Jay-Z scored a major victory in his legal battle with Parlux Fragrances.

A jury determined Hov wasn’t liable in the perfumer’s breach of contract lawsuit against him. Parlux was seeking $67.6 million in damages.

Although Jay-Z was cleared in the breach of contract case, jurors also dismissed his $6 million countersuit. He claimed Parlux owed him unpaid royalties

“You failed to prove your case, they failed to prove their case,” New York State Supreme Court Justice Andrew Borrok told both sides, according to Law 360.

The jury ruled in Jay-Z’s favor after two hours of deliberations. The decision concluded a three-week trial, which included testimony by the Roc Nation boss.

Parlux originally sued Hov in 2016. The company accused him of failing to properly promote its Gold Jay Z fragrance.

The case finally went to trial in October. Parlux executives repeatedly testified about how Jay-Z’s alleged unwillingness to promote the fragrance cost them millions.

Jay-Z’s attorneys contended Parlux had no idea how to properly market a product with the Hip Hop superstar’s name attached to it. Hov himself said the perfumer did “crappy, lazy work” during his testimony.

“I’ve always had problems with the quality of lazy work that was coming from Parlux,” he declared during the trial.

The jury ultimately sided with Hov, allowing him to move on from a lawsuit that’s been looming over him for the past five years.

More Bad News For Travis Scott After Fan Declared Braindead After Astroworld Disaster

The Astroworld tragedy is getting worse each day, as one of the victims has been declared brain dead after suffering multiple heart attacks at Travis Scott’s festival.

The young woman is only 22-year-old.

According to TMZ, Bharti Shahani is the 9th person to succumb to injuries sustained during the Friday concert in Texas.

The young Texas A&M student, presumed to be a graduating senior, attended the concert with her sister and cousin. During the crowd’s chaotic “surge,” she was separated from them.

When the ambulance found her, the emergency team attempted to perform CPR on her. Once she was brought to a hospital, doctors placed her on a ventilator.

Despite the news of her being brain dead being released, there is no further news about her condition. Her family is working with the medical professionals to determine the next steps for her care.

In addition to the eight other people who have been confirmed dead, several people are listed in serious condition, and some whose very life is on the line.

One of them was a 9-year-old concert attendee named Ezra Blount. Currently, the dimpled-face brown boy is in a medically-induced coma.

The Blount family has enlisted Civil Rights attorney Ben Crump as their legal counsel. In the court documents filed by the lawyer, it has been revealed that Ezra was “suddenly forced to watch in terror as several concertgoers were injured and killed” as the crowd surged during the performance and then was “trampled nearly to death.”

Other lawsuits are coming naming Travis Scott, Drake, and the concert’s producers, Live Nation, as responsible.

This sad story is developing.

Lord, Make It Stop: Will Smith Said He Was ‘Jealous’ Of Tupac Shakur

At this point, anything we learn about Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith is against our will. And if I have to hear it, so do you.

In his recently released memoir, Will, the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air revealed that he was jealous of his wife’s relationship with the legendary Tupac Shakur. Though Jada swears that they never got it on, Will Smith still felt a type of way that these two were so close when they were growing up.

“Though they were never intimate, their love for each other is legendary – they defined ‘ride or die,’” he writes in the book. “At the beginning of our relationship, my mind was tortured by their connection. He was PAC! and I was me.”

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Will Smith (@willsmith)

And that’s not all. No, folks, far from it. Not by a long shot.

Will Smith then went on to write that Pac had a “fearless passion that was intoxicating, a militant morality, and a willingness to fight and die for what he believed was right.”

When Jada started spending more time with Will than with Pac, he said that he felt “victorious” over the legendary rapper.

“If she chose me over Tupac, there was no way I could be a coward,” Will Smith wrote. “I have rarely felt more validated… I was in a room with Tupac on multiple occasions, but I never spoke to him. The way Jada loved Pac rendered me incapable of being friends with him. I was too immature.”

Well…we’re all better for knowing that, aren’t we?

Megan Thee Stallion Steps Up To Help Victims Of Travis Scott’s Astroworld Tragedy

Rapper Megan Thee Stallion has vowed to help victims of the tragedy at the Astroworld Festival in her home town of Houston, Texas.

Meg wants to do what she can to aid the families of the eight fans who lost their lives in a crowd surge during Travis Scott’s performance at his NRG Park event on Friday (November 5th), as well as the hundreds of people were injured.

“Houston is my hometown. It has a special place in my heart. I feel terrible. Whatever we can do, I want to help. I want to support. Always. That’s my duty. That’s what I gotta do,” Megan Thee Stallion said.

“And we’re just sending prayers, and we’re sending condolences. And we’re sending positive energy to everybody and their family.”

Roddy Ricch, who performed before Scott hit the stage, previously announced he would donate his fee from performing at the event to the families of victims.

Travis has offered to cover the funeral costs for the eight victims, while he and his Cactus Jack Foundation are also teaming up with BetterHelp, an online portal providing mental health support.

The rapper is offering free one-on-one virtual therapy sessions for anyone affected by the tragedy.

Travis will work with officials at the National Alliance of Mental Illness, Mental Health America National, and MHA of Greater Houston for those in need of mental health services.

A statement issued on behalf of the “Goosebumps” rapper said: “Travis remains in active conversations with the city of Houston, law enforcement, and local first responders to respectfully and appropriately connect with the individuals and families of those involved.

“These are the first of many steps Travis plans on taking as a part of his personal vow to assist those affected throughout their grieving and recovery process.”

Drake – who had been on stage with Travis for part of the show – has also vowed to “be of service in any way I can” to help those affected.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CWCr3ydlVVA/

“I’ve spent the past few days trying to wrap my mind around this devastating tragedy,” Drake wrote in a statement posted to Instagram.

“I hate resorting to this platform to express an emotion as delicate as grief but this is where I find myself. My heart is broken for the families and friends of those who lost their lives and for anyone who is suffering.

”I will continue to pray for all of them, and will be of service in any way I can. May God be with you all,” Drake added.

Chiefs at ScoreMore Shows, who helped produce the festival alongside concert promoters at Live Nation, have also separately pledged to provide mental health counseling and will establish a fund to help with medical costs from the incident.

Gross: Travis Scott Earns Partnership With BetterHelp After Astroworld Deaths

Travis Scott has just put the icing on the sh*tcake that is the Astroworld tragedy.

Earlier today, it was revealed that the rapper earned a partnership with BetterHelp to offer a 15 percent discount on the first month of services for those who suffered emotional trauma as a result of the concert.

That, of course, pretty much entails everybody, since soldiers who go off to war are often diagnosed with PTSD after they return. It only stands to reason that a bunch of teenagers would be suffering from the same thing after watching civilians (including children) die beneath their feet. But what do I know?

Anyway, this Travis Scott partnership is even worse than it appears on the surface, according to Newsweek.

Aside from its exorbitant costs (between $60 and $80 per week, billed monthly – which, for mathematically illiterate amongst you, works out to $240 and $320 per month, exclusive of taxes), the platform pays terrible wages to its therapists, many of whom aren’t even licensed to practice therapy. (This sort of seems on brand for Travis Scott, but again, don’t go by me.)

And there’s more: BetterHelp mines user data, and has frequently come under fire for its exploitative privacy practices. What do they do with the mined data, you ask? Sell it to companies like Facebook (or Meta, or whatever it’s calling itself these days in an effort to avoid liability). And do you know what happens to you, the consumer, when that happens? You lose the right to sue.

So, this entire story can be summed up in a nutshell: Travis Scott is doing all this to avoid liability.

Rapper Money Man To Receive 7-Figure EMPIRE Advance In Bitcoin

It appears to be the dawning of a new day in the music industry. The independent label/distributor EMPIRE announced Atlanta-based artist Money Man will be compensated by the company with cryptocurrency.

Money Man is set to receive his entire 7-figure advance from EMPIRE in Bitcoin via Cash App. The rapper is partnering with EMPIRE CEO/founder Ghazi Shami to release a project titled Blockchain.

The album will arrive on November 12 and is now available for pre-order/pre-save/pre-add on various DSPs. Money Man recently released the upcoming studio LP’s title track.

The “Blockchain” music video has already amassed more than 4 million views on YouTube. As of press time, the five-day-old visuals are trending at #13 in the platform’s music section.

Money Man bought himself out of his previous contract with Cash Money Records by using earnings from early investments in Bitcoin. He reportedly put up $250,000 in order to become an independent act.

“I bought myself out that deal so I could get 100% of the profit. Really, I’m not a splurger like that. I could make $500,000 and whatever else comes in over that I’ll spend,” Money Man explained to The Source in 2018.

He added, “Then when I get to another amount I save that, and whatever money I make that exceeds that particular amount I had previously set to save I use that extra as spending money. So I make sure I have a lot of money put up to the side.”

Money Man and EMPIRE’s Ghazi Shami both participated in the “Pay Me In Bitcoin” panel at this year’s Bitcoin Conference in June. The Miami event also featured former NFL player Sean Culkin and Strike founder Jack Mallers discussing Bitcoin investment.

Summer Walker’s ‘Still Over It’ Album Breaks Multiple Apple Music Records

It looks like Summer Walker is about to crossover to another level as a recording artist. The Atlanta-raised singer/songwriter dropped her sophomore studio LP, Still Over It, to sweeping streaming success.

Still Over It managed to break several records on the Apple Music platform. According to Chart Data, the album earned the biggest all-time 24-hour debut on Apple Music for a female performer.

Summer Walker’s latest body of work reportedly scored the biggest Apple Music debut for an R&B album as well. Following its release on November 5, tracks off Still Over It dominated Apple Music’s daily Top 100: USA chart.

News of Summer Walker’s historic achievements with Still Over It spread across social media. The 25-year-old Love Renaissance representative acknowledged her 4.1 million Instagram followers by posting, “🖤🙏🏾 Thanks guys.”

Still Over It contains features by JT, SZA, Ari Lennox, Lil Durk, Pharrell Williams, and Omarion. Summer Walker also used Cardi B for narration on the project’s opener “Bitter” and Ciara for narration on the project’s closer “Ciara’s Prayer.”

According to industry insiders, Still Over It is expected to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with 185,000 first-week units. That would give Summer Walker the first #1 album of her career. 2019’s Over It opened at #2.

Even with the commercial triumph of Still Over It, Summer Walker dealt with some negative press over the last week. Details about the “No Love” performer’s alleged record contract became public which caused Walker to respond to the reports.

Travis Scott Partied At Dave & Buster’s After Astroworld Festival Tragedy

Besides being a tragic event, Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival is a public relations nightmare for the 30-year-old rap star. Eight people lost their lives as the massive crowd surged towards the NRG Park stage on Friday night.

Several Astroworld Festival attendees already filed lawsuits against Travis Scott and others including, the show’s special guest Drake. Scott’s reputation also took a major hit following his two statements about the catastrophe. Some people suggested he came off as indifferent or unemotional in his video apology.

The Houston-bred entertainer will likely catch more backlash as a result of an article on TMZ. The entertainment news outlet reports Travis Scott attended a Drake-hosted party at Dave & Buster’s following the Astroworld Festival.

“Travis didn’t know the severity of the situation when he arrived at the party, as far as timing, this remains consistent with the fact that no one including the police had publicly confirmed the gravity of the events that had taken place,” a source told TMZ.

HPD Says The Festival Was Declared A “Mass Casualty Event” As Travis Scott Was Still On Stage

Travis Scott supposedly being unaware of the hundreds of injuries that occurred at the concert contradicts the Houston Police Department’s statements. According to Houston Police Chief Troy Finner, Scott’s headlining set continued for a full 40 minutes after officials declared the festival a “mass casualty event.”

Critics also began pointing out Travis Scott’s alleged history of encouraging violence and misbehavior at his concerts. Scott pled guilty in two separate criminal cases over the last six years.

Travis Scott was sentenced to one year of court supervision after pleading guilty to reckless conduct charges connected to a 2015 incident at Chicago’s Lollapalooza music festival. Two years later, Scott took a plea deal for a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge following an arrest on suspicion of inciting a riot in Arkansas.

Old Footage & Posts Of Travis Scott Allegedly Inciting Chaos Resurface

In addition, TMZ ran a story showing other moments when Travis Scott essentially glorified concertgoers getting injured at his shows or calling for his followers to cause “chaos.” There are multiple videos titled “TRAVIS SCOTT BEST RAGE MOMENTS” on YouTube.

Plus, Instagram posts resurfaced where Scott praised fans that “raged” while he was performing. One photo featured a man seemingly passed out on the ground. Scott’s caption for that image read, “TO THE KID THAT DIDN’T SURVIVE THE RODEO. UR A HERO IN [MY] BOOK.”

Last month, Wizkid headlined the United States’ first Afrobeats festival, “Lost in Riddim” in Sacramento, California. He’s spent months on a sell-out tour of the album across North America and the United Kingdom.  He also performed and headlined at numerous other music festivals over the summer.

Last week, the groundbreaking chart-topper picked up five Soul Train Award nominations making him the most nominated and awarded African artist ever. He’s shortlisted in multiple categories, including Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Collaboration, and the Ashford and Simpson Songwriter’s Award, alongside fellow Lagos native Tems, who helped write “Essence.” “Made in Lagos” also received a nod for Album of the Year.

Wizkid picked up a Grammy Award for Best Music Video for his song with Beyoncé; “Brown Skin Girl” last year and is under consideration for 10 Categories this year.

Additionally, Wizkid is currently sitting atop the number one spot on six of the Billboard Charts.

Wizkid has achieved pop success in the United States like no other African artist but rejects any labeling of his music.

“I don’t even call my music ‘Afrobeats’ or ‘Afropop.’ I just make good music,” he said in a recent interview with Billboard. “You just have to keep proving people wrong. We make quality music in Africa. You can take our music anywhere, and it will stand the test of time. It stands up quality wise to any music anywhere in the world.”

Nicki Minaj Celebrates “Super Bass” Earning Diamond Certification

Nicki Minaj’s prominent mainstream music career began back in 2010 with the release of her debut album Pink Friday. That project hosted a bonus track titled “Super Bass” which would go on to become the rapper’s biggest hit.

Nicki Minaj’s Name Is Now Added To A Very Exclusive List

Nicki Minaj is just the eighth solo rapper and second female rapper to receive a Diamond plaque. She joins a list that only includes Eminem, Drake, Travis Scott, Kanye West, Cardi B, XXXTentacion, and Fetty Wap.

The Recording Industry Association of America certified Cardi B’s 2017 chart-topping smash “Bodak Yellow” as Diamond in March of this year, making her the first female rapper to achieve the accolade. Last month, Kanye West’s 2007 classic “Stronger” also reached 10 million units sold.

The Pettys Are Still Dealing With A Lawsuit Over Alleged Harassment

While Nicki Minaj is celebrating a major milestone as a musician this week, the 38-year-old emcee is also facing serious legal issues at the moment. A woman named Jennifer Hough is suing Minaj and her partner Kenneth Petty for alleged harassment and threatening behavior.

Jennifer Hough claims the couple was trying to force her to retract her statements about being forcibly raped by Kenneth Petty in 1994. Petty was convicted of first-degree attempted rape in 1995 and later released from prison in 1999. He is now required to register as a sex offender.
