Houston Authorities Are Reviewing Arena Videos of Riot Caused By Playboi Carti’s Last Minute Cancellation

Houston fans rioted after rapper Playboi Carti pulled out of a local concert performance in Houston, Texas. Authorities have viewed countless videos of the ruckus unfolding, hoping to make sense of the chaos.

According to KPRC, the Hip-Hop concert-goers ransacked the NRG Arena breaking metal detectors and vandalized cars. But the late-night news station didn’t have to give the world the 411. Twitter had it on lock.

One fan posted, “stormed the arena to see #playboicarti but it got cancelled”

One fan was caught out there breaking the law on a few levels.

“ A #playboicarti fan at a Houston show broke his curfew, with his ankle monitor on just to see him A true fan or idiot?”

“Apparently Playboi Carti is a flake and didn’t bother to tell his fans that the show was canceled, so everyone showed up and then after two hours of waiting outside it devolved? Good job. #houston #playboicarti #playboicartihouston

No one knows why the Houston concert was cancelled, but people were treated to a banger in San Antonio.

#playboicarti concert in san antonio was craaaazy. thanks playboi carti”

One noted that all of the melee proved to be social media capital for the chart-topping artist.

“After the show in San Antonio last night, @playboicarti hit 7 million followers on Instagram.”

Houston law authorities say that they are currently investigating the riot.

Rumor Quickies: Conway The Machine, Jay-Z and Jadakiss!

Jay-Z Gets Checked!

You all know like I know – that Jay-Z used to be a part of the collective that owned the New Jersey Nets. Jigga Man would go on to sell his stake so that he and Roc Nation Sports could move on representing sports figures of all sorts. He’s no longer unincumbered by just a single team. People were perplexed at the sight of a man checking Jay-Z’s seat assignment in the Barclays! What’s wrong with the man!?

Nothing is wrong wit them, but bfdore I explain, check the meme.

Sports reporter Scoop B countered the internet narrative quickly in a response, “Jay-Z had no struggle getting to his seat at the Barclays Center on Sunday where the Nets took on the Charlotte Hornets. In fact he’s known them for years.”

“Jay showed us his seat on his phone,” Fred Galloway, Nets Director of team Security told Scoop by phone.

SEE?

Conway The Machine, Jay-Z and Jadakiss…

Looks like they got a song coming later this week. I can’t see it being nothing but pure fire.

Poor Papi! Drake Said He Used to ‘Scrape Together’ $5k/Month To Rent a Phantom

Drake has been richer for longer than most people have been alive.

So, it’s almost understandable as to why he doesn’t “get it.”

In a recent Instagram post, Drake demonstrated that he has no clue what it really means to be poor when he explained that he used to ‘scrape together’ $5,000/month just to keep up appearances.

“Back in 2007, we used to finesse this Rolls Royce Phantom rental to convince people in the city we were destined to make it,” Drake said. “I used to scrape together 5k a month somehow to keep up appearances. We whipped this to Ottawa to see @belly and @cashxo and to Montreal for my first show ever. I used to pick up @ovoniko and roll every day or wait outside @nebzilla class for her. Park outside 15 Fort York while me and @ovo40 and @oliverelkhatib would be upstairs cooking what would eventually become So Far Gone. Even though I don’t recommend putting yourself in financial trouble for material things I realize now that this was just my way of extreme manifesting.”

https://www.instagram.com/p/CVbov3nl1eu/

Since we already know there’s going to be someone out there who’s going to look at this as sound financial advice, let us be the one to break it to you – and not so gently.

Despite what many folks flex about on social media, the vast majority of Black men in this country are not rich, wealthy, “hood rich,” or any combination of the above. In fact, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, Black men in the United States have a median take-home pay of $23,728. (For purposes of comparison, white men in the United States have a median take-home pay of $36,785.)

Now, these facts open up a whole different discussion about the racial wealth inequality gap, job discrimination, and lack of opportunity for most folks. But for the purposes of this bit of Drake news, there are two things you need to take away from these statements.

One, listen to what Drake said at the end – do not go into dire financial straits to flex on the Internet for people who don’t give a sh*t about you. Make sure your bills are paid, your children are fed and clothed, and your wife/girlfriend/husband/boyfriend is secure – then rent a Rolls Royce, if you want to.

Two, stop lying on the Internet. And take Jay-Z’s advice and take the $500,000, because your “business” idea (which is really just a pie-in-the-sky rap superstardom fantasy) sucks.

J Balvin Apologizes For Portrayal Of Black Women In “Perra” Music Video

Colombian singer/rapper J Balvin recently found himself at the center of controversy. Critics accused the Jose album creator of racism and misogyny after the release of his “Perra” music video with Dominican rapper Tokischa.

In the visuals, J Balvin could be seen with two Black women depicted as dogs on leashes. At one point, Tokischa posed on all fours inside a doghouse.

The Raymi Paulus-directed “Perra” music video is no longer available on YouTube. J Balvin issued an apology on Sunday to anyone who may have been offended by the content.

“I want to say sorry to whomever felt offended, especially to the Black community,” said J Balvin on Instagram. “That’s not who I am. I’m about tolerance, love, and inclusivity. I also like to support new artists, in this case, Tokischa, a woman who supports her people, her community, and also empowers women.”

The 36-year-old Latin artist added, “As a form of respect, I removed the video eight days ago. But because the criticism continued, I’m here making a statement.” He also apologized to his mother.

American music fans probably best know J Balvin for his contribution to Cardi B’s #1 hit “I Like It” which also features Puerto Rican reggaeton star Bad Bunny. Balvin also made it into the Top 10 region of Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart with 2017’s “Mi Gente (Remix)” with Willy William and Beyoncé.

Megan The Stallion Dresses Up As Pinhead From ‘Hellraiser’ For Halloween 2021

Halloween is traditionally the holiday for children to wear disguises and collect candy from neighbors. October 31 is also a day where adults get to show off their own elaborate costumes.

Hip Hop star Megan Thee Stallion got the jump on many of her peers by already posting pictures of her Halloween 2021 ensemble. The “Thot S###” performer decided to dress up as the iconic horror character Pinhead from the Hellraiser franchise.

“Pain has a face. Allow me to show you. Gentlemen, I am pain. 🩸#hottieween,” wrote Megan Thee Stallion in the Instagram caption.

Boosie Badazz Reacts To Backlash Over His Homophobic Tweet Directed At Lil Nas X

At this point, Boosie Badazz can no longer deny he has homophobic views. The Baton Rouge-raised rapper made it perfectly clear what he thinks about openly gay entertainer Lil Nas X and the LGBTQ community at large.

The back-and-forth between Boosie Badazz and Lil Nas X has played out in public for months. Boosie expressed his disgust for LNX after he kissed a male dancer during the televised 2021 BET Awards in June.

Boosie Badazz’s threat to attack Lil Nas X on stage caused a lot of backlash on social media. Over the weekend, the 38-year-old southerner went even further in his latest statements against Lil Nas X.

Lil Nas X trolled Boosie by joking that he was planning to record a collaboration with his tormenter. Boosie reacted by posting a tweet that included him calling LNX a “f#####” and telling the 22-year-old hitmaker to commit suicide.

This lead to widespread condemnation. Twitter took down Boosie’s tweet because other users reported it as being abusive and harmful. However, the “Wipe Me Down” performer did not backtrack on his comments.

Boosie returned to Twitter to write:

IF YALL THINK THE WHOLE WORLD HATE ME “YALL TRIPPIN.“ I HAVE INTERNATIONAL LOVE N RESPECT FOR HOW I AM N WHAT I STAND FOR. 🙌🏽 n never forget THERES A GHETTO N EVERY CITY, STATE, COUNTRY ETC. WHO ROCK WITH BOOSIE FRFR #therealest

Meanwhile, Boosie is also dealing with serious legal issues. The convicted felon was arrested for allegedly inciting a riot and causing criminal damage to property during the Atlanta stop of the Legendz Of The Streetz Tour. Boosie was reportedly removed from the tour as well.

Doug E. Fresh Says Biz Markie’s Verse On His New Album Is “The Last Recording Of Biz”

Doug E. Fresh has revealed that Biz Markie’s verse featured on his newest album, “This One’s For Chuck Brown: Doug E. Fresh Salutes The Godfather of Go-Go”, is the last one Markie ever recorded.

Hip-Hop suffered a huge loss with the untimely passing of legendary rapper, beatboxer, DJ, actor, comedian, and television personality Biz Markie in July. During a recent interview with “HipHopDX,” Doug E. Fresh shared how he learned the news that Biz had been rushed to hospital.

“I was on an interview with Biz on June 17, and I think around a little after that day is when I heard that Biz had gotten rushed to the hospital,” the beatbox pioneer said. “I didn’t know what it was for, but I assumed that it was diabetes-related because I’ve always talked to Biz about his health and watching out and looking out what he’d eat and stuff like that. And then, later on, I found out that it was.

He recalled finding out that Biz died from complications from Type II Diabetes and a stroke. “You know, stroke is the number one debilitating disease in the world. And most people sometimes don’t bounce back from a stroke that easy, depending on the magnitude of the stroke. So it was hard for him. He fought. He fought a good fight.”

Fresh initially hoped Biz could pull through.

“When I heard the news, I kept the doors of hope open, thinking that he will be OK and we ain’t gotta worry about Biz, he’s going to bounce back,” he said. “We know Biz. Biz is strong. Biz is going to do it. And as time started going, I started getting more information, and things wasn’t really going that well, I would constantly call, send pictures and flyers of things that we would do before. So it was kind of like … it’s weird how this album came out with Biz on it, and I didn’t plan that either.”

Unaware of the significance at the time, Biz recorded his last verse for the Go-Go version of “The Show” for Fresh’s project, his first solo album in 26 years.

“I didn’t know that this would be the last recording of Biz,” he said. ” Biz would make you laugh, joke around, make you feel good. I appreciate it. He was a good brother, so his spirit will live on.”

A Wu-Tang Clan RPG Is Reportedly in the Works

The gaming industry has been buzzing in the last few days with rumors of a new action RPG based on the legendary Wu-Tang Clan.

Multiple reports suggest Xbox Game Studios is working on the project with Brass Lion Entertainment. Word is, Wu-Tang Clan is set to compose the soundtrack for the game which is based on Wu-Tang Clan lore.

Video game reporter Jez Corden first made the claims a few days ago on the “Xbox Two Podcast.” Corden said that he received reports of the project a few months back. According to what he heard; the game will be a third-person fantasy action RPG that emphasizes melee combat. The anime-inspired game would allow for four different players to play at once.

Another video game reporter Jeff Grubb revealed that he was receiving the same reports. On his show “GamesBeat Decides,” he also claimed that the game’s working title is “Project Shaolin” and is in the early stages of development.

The specific details about the Wu-Tang Clan-based RPG remain unknown. No release date has been announced but its launch is expected to include seasonal content.

Wu-Tang Clan previously ventured into the games market with “Wu-Tang: Shaolin Style,” a Sony PlayStation fighting game. The game was based on the group’s characters.

After months of speculation, the revelation came last week that a private investment collective called PleasrDAO purchased the Wu-Tang Clan’s “Once Upon a Time in Shaolin” album. The government sold the project for $4 million after seizing it from Martin Shkreli.

Kodak Black On His Father

Earlier this week, Kodak Black shared some information about his father when commenting on a viral story. It was reported that a 61-year-old Florida man allegedly married his 18-year-old goddaughter. Kodak didn’t see what all the fuss was about and claimed his own father had a similar union.

“SMH my daddy did this same sh*t,” he wrote in a since-deleted post. “Left us to start another family with his goddaughter, I was about 9. But I ain’t judging nobody. To each’s own. It could be true love.”

Young Thug Debuts At No.1 As “Punk” Knocks Drake’s “CLB” Off The Top Spot.

Young Thug scored his third No. 1 on the Billboard 200 as “Punk”, debuts in the top spot, knocking off Drake’s “Certified Lover Boy.”

Billboard reports that “Punk” reached the top of the chart after amassing 90,000 equivalent album units. 77,000 of those came from SEA units, equalling 102 million on-demand streams of the album’s tracks. 12,000 accounted for pure album sales.

Projections from earlier in the week had “Punk” in a tight race for the top place with Drake’s “Certified Lover Boy.”

In the end, Drake took the second spot with 83,000 units sold after Drake spent four non-consecutive weeks atop the Billboard 200 chart. “CLB” has spent a total of 7 weeks on the chart and is yet to drop below No.2.

Young Thug may have softened the blow with his choice of birthday gift for the 6 God, who turned 35 this weekend. Thug gifted Drake a custom double-sided chain with the OVO emblem on one side and an image of Drake’s son, Adonis on the other.

Thugger must have been feeling generous this weekend as 21 Savage also received his own one-of-a-kind gift from Young Thug. He gifted 21 a custom TRX truck with “21 Savage” emblazoned on the side and decorated with knives.

Young Thug & Elton John

Earlier this week, Young Thug’s collaboration with Elton John and Nicki Minaj, “Always Love You”, was released.

Elton had praised Young Thug’s ability to freestyle. He revealed to Billboard:

“I mean, I’ve seen Marshall [Mathers] do it in Detroit, but I’ve never seen someone like Thug come in and do that,” Elton explained. “In the end, I had to leave because I think he felt a bit intimidated that I was there and I just wanted him to relax. But it’s just an amazing moment in my musical life… I have no understanding of how rap records are put together and it’s fascinating to watch.”

Drake Gifted Unique Rolls Royce For His Birthday In Full Circle Moment

Drake turned 35 this weekend and celebrated the occasion with a star-studded Halloween party in Los Angeles.  The superstar rapper went full-cowboy for the bash wearing a costume that included a Stetson, fringed suede jacket, and cowboy boots with spurs!

However, some of the other guests were a little more casual and opted out of the theme.

According to TMZ, the Narcos-themed night was dubbed “Chico Amante” which translates to “Lover Boy,” a nod to Drake’s latest album “Certified Lover Boy.”

Drake’s One-Of-A-Kind Gift

While Drake isn’t short of a car or two, his insane luxury car collection is worth a reported $8 million. But for his 35th Birthday, he was gifted an automobile that meant so much more than money. Drake took to Instagram to share the full-circle moment with a video of the Rolls Royce Phantom he used to rent back in 2007 “to convince people in the city we were destined to make it.”

Drake revealed in the caption how he “used to scrape together 5k a month somehow to keep up appearances. We whipped this to Ottawa to see @belly and @cashxo and to Montreal for my first show ever. I used to pick up @ovoniko and roll every day or wait outside @nebzilla class for her. Park outside 15 Fort York while me and @ovo40 and @oliverelkhatib would be upstairs cooking what would eventually become So Far Gone.”

He explained that he didn’t hire the car to stunt but rather as a means of “extreme manifesting.” “Even though I don’t recommend putting yourself in financial trouble for material things I realize now that this was just my way of extreme manifesting,” he explained in the caption. “I needed to see it and feel it and have it to believe that I could see and feel and have anything I wanted. Today in 2021 my brother @futuretheprince tracked down the exact car I use to stress over and gifted it to me…it’s mine now. Manifestation complete.”

He ended by thanking his fans for their love and appreciation. “More than just loved I feel truly appreciated and that is the only gift I ever needed”

Hip-Hop Veteran Luke Campbell Gets His Own Football Field

After 30 years of disrupting the status quo, Luther Campbell will be recognized for his charitable and philanthropic works in Liberty City.

A major landmark has been named after him, and it is not a strip club.

Mayor Francis Suarez and the City of Miami Parks and Recreation recently dedicated The Luther Campbell Football Field in his honor.

The city’s top politician said, “This community should know that they have something special. It’s very rare for celebrities or famous people to do what Luke has done, and that is giving his most precious asset, his time.”

For years, Uncle Luke has made a point to invest in the community with his resources and contacts, hoping to build a stronger community. He has done so for over three decades with his organization, the Liberty City Optimist Club.

“You have to be really, really small to not appreciate what was done today,” Commissioner Jeffrey Watson shared, blasting those who wanted to look at the explicit content of his music and not his community service.

Luke was all smiles.

He said, “I always said if I ever get two cents over my lunch money, I would come back and do something special in this community, at this very park I grew up playing in.”

“I brought in many of my friends to help bring all of this to fruition,” Luke said. “We started something fresh and new, and when I look at what we have done here, I am as proud as I have ever been.”

Master P. Looking To Expand Big Poppa Burgers Franchise Into Nashville

Rap mogul Master P will be taking care of business as his son Hercy Miller plays basketball for Tennessee State.

In March, Percy committed to TSU Tigers. His proud pop decided to relocate to Nashville, where he resides part-time.

“This is like my second home now. I just fell in love with the culture and the people,” Master P told BizJournals. “My son plays basketball for TSU: He’s an A student, majoring in business. I’m in and out and will be able to spend a lot more time here.”

Master P. will be making good use of his time in the city by expanding his restaurant franchise, Big Poppa Burgers.

The No Limit founder already operates two Big Poppa Burger locations in New Orleans and now he is looking to set up shop in Nashville.

“I’m looking for places to put that here and create over avenues of income in the real estate business here,” Master P revealed.

Once he is set up shop, Nashville residents will be able to enjoy menu items like the delicious “Make Em Say Ugh Burger,” the “Master Piece Burger,” smothered in Big Poppa Burgers’ secret sauce.

According to P., he wants to mentor local Nashville residents and encourage them to broaden the business community.

“Creating that diversity in the business world in Nashville and also bringing people together. The goal is to build generational wealth. The key is to get started,” the rap mogul said.

Master P. launched Big Poppa Burgers in 2019. A portion of the proceeds of the businesses goes back to the local communities where the brand operates.

“It’s about helping those kids. I made it out of the ghetto, I was able to change my life, and it’s all about education. I say knowledge is more important than money,” Master P told AllHipHop.com.

Casanova Associate Trap Smoke Takes Plea In RICO Case Against Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation

Another associative Casanova and member of the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation will be heading to prison.

Jamal “Trap Smoke” Austin was one of the 18 members of the gang to be charged in a sweeping RICO indictment in December of 2020.

Casanova, Trap Smoke, and 16 other Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation members were charged with numerous crimes, from drug dealing and gun running to assaults and murder.

According to the Feds, Trap Smoke was a large-scale cocaine/crack dealer who peddled synthetic drugs like K2.

Prosecutors said Trap Smoke was a vital member of the gang because he supplied crack to the Westchester-based members of Gorilla Stone.

The Feds intercepted phone calls and text messages between Trap Smoke and Naya “Baby” Austin, who was pegged as the Godmother of Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation.

In addition to discussing drugs, the pair were caught attempting to purchase guns as well.

The evidence against Trap Smoke was incriminating because he already has two prior convictions for illegal firearms possession. Trap Smoke is also currently on New York State parole for one of those firearms possession charges.

According to documents obtained by AllHipHop.com, Trap Smoke will enter a guilty plea on November 24th, 2020, at the courthouse in White Plains, New York.

Trap Smoke’s decision makes him the sixth Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation member to take a plea deal.

Trap Smoke faces a minimum of 10 years in prison and possibly life when he is formally sentenced.

Rapper Casanova is being held in the Westchester County Jail on two counts: intentionally manufacturing, distributing, and dispensing crack cocaine, cocaine, and marijuana.

The Brooklyn rapper, born Caswell Senior, is also charged with possessing a firearm and furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
