Bobby Shmurda Donates Thousands Of Backpacks And School Supplies To New York Students

Since Bobby Shmurda was released from his stint “Up North,” he has been working hard on his music, brand, and his philanthropy.

One example of him giving back was his recent donation of school supplies to kids in the New York City public school system.

On Monday, October 4, the “Hot Boy” rapper went into his pocket to bless 2,000 students with notebooks, pencils, pens, paper, and more.

However, his generous gift did not go without an old-school/old-head lecture. He told the students he gifted the supplies to, “Please do not give your mommas no trouble this year. And please do not give your teachers (those sweet little teachers) no trouble this year. And the dude teachers too … ah… ah… ah… All that, you heard?”

He continued by saying he was proud of them.

“I want to say that I’m proud of y’all for being brave, for being strong, and for staying in school. Always remember you guys are unstoppable. You can do anything you set your mind to,” the Brooklyn rapper continued.

This is not the first time he has given back to the community that held him down (at least energetically) while he was locked away for six years.

As reported by AllHipHop.com, the rapper gave free meals and haircuts from three private barbers to 200 dads and their kids for Father’s Day.

The families who reside in Brooklyn’s The Win Shelter chowed down on a tasty (but spicey) Caribbean-styled brunch. The menu included jerk salmon, curried chickpeas, stew chicken, and mac and cheese.

In addition to the grub, the children were also gifted gaming consoles, board games, action figures, footballs, jump ropes, princess-themed costumes, and other items. Dads walked away with something too. They were presented with new T-shirts, underwear, socks, books, and more.

Bobby also personally delivered and served leftover food from The Win Shelter event to another Brooklyn temporary housing location, the CAMBA Men’s Shelter.

From Brittany B To Bee-B: Way More Than Just A Songwriter

Bee-B is a powerhouse singer, songwriter, rapper, A&R, and reality television star out of Compton, California, and she’s been putting in that work!

Jump Starting her career writing some of Bhad Bhabies greatest hits, from “These Heaux” to “Mama Don’t Worry,” real name Brittany B has come a long way from songwriting behind-the-scenes to now unleashing her own original music under the moniker Bee-B.

Speaking on her name change, she states, “I wanted to make sure there was a distinction between my songwriting and my artistry. I’m always credited as a songwriter as Brittany B, Brittany Barber. When I’m dropping music, it’s Bee-B. Also, it’s psychological. People often associate you with whatever you’ve done before, it’s hard for them to see you in a different light. The name change was a very distinct way to completely separate my songwriting from artistry so that people gave me a clean slate and paid attention to the music from me as an artist.”

If there’s one thing you can expect from Bee-B’s music, it’s the fact that it’s filled with substance. On her newest single “Confidence,” Bee-B stands for strength, self-love, and knowing your worth, pairing it with an equally powerful visual where she pays homage to the legendary Michael Jackson. Additionally, you can catch Bee-B on the recent season of Love & Hip Hop Atlanta.

AllHipHop: “Confidence” was produced by Harmony Samuels, shout out to him. Was it done in the studio?

Bee-B: Yes, we did this record together during quarantine. If you could make a record that’s a cool anthem that speaks to women, what would that sound like? It was mostly me. This is what I say when I’m talking to my homegirls: “look how you rock that fit, look how you got them sick. Must be your confidence!“ That’s how I came up out of it. He killed the beat and the rest is where it is now.

AllHipHop: What was your creative vision with the visual? I love how it had that old school, R&B aesthetic.

Bee-B: We wanted to create something and get back to when music videos had a theme, music videos when they gave you something to watch. Because content is so big now, everybody thinks “content is key, I gotta get something out.” So you see every person standing in a car. [Laughs] Every person is sitting on a porch. Everybody’s at the crib, every girl is laying in the bed. I swear! [laughs]

AllHipHop: It’s like everything has been done…

Bee-B: Right. Nobody’s willing to take risks anymore, to really put their money, effort, time to invest into their artistry. For me, if I’m going to do this and step out of the spotlight as an artist, I’ma do it right. The creativity came from: we’re going to be as creative as f###. We’re gonna go there, there’s nothing we can’t do. Forget conforming to who’s cute, what looks sexy or what everybody else is doing. Nah, this is a form of self-expression and you want to set a trend. You want to get people’s attention. If everybody’s going right, I want to go the opposite. Guess what they gon’ do? Everyone’s going to turn and look at me, they’re trying to figure out why I’m not following the crowd. That’s where I was with it.

AllHipHop: Where was the video shot?

Bee-B: It was shot here in Los Angeles. It was directed by AZ Films. Myself, Harmony, and the director collaborated on the treatment.

AllHipHop: I love that Harmony had a hand in that, that’s tight.

Bee-B: Yeah, especially after “Stretch.” We’ve all been a collaborative effort in making sure with each record, what the visual is going to look like. We almost see the visual while we’re making the record. Also the bars, your bars gotta be descriptive and hitting for you to have that creativity. When I say “Pretty Young Thang on my PYT,” that’s a reference to Michael Jackson. Why wouldn’t I want to pay homage?

AllHipHop: What does Black Girl Magic mean to you?

Bee-B: Black Girl Magic means that despite the obstacles that they put in front of me, I’m still going to turn lemons into lemonade baby. I’m still going to turn nothing into something.

AllHipHop: How’s your experience been on Love & Hip Hop?

Bee-B: I recently did some guest star appearances on Love & Hip Hop Atlanta. Yung Baby Tate, shout out to my girl. Her and I collaborated on one of the singles off her album, the record’s called “Bounce.” That’s another boss b#### anthem we did together. I had a lot of fun, she’s hella cool. She’s one of the first people I met in Atlanta, showed me love. Naturally when I found out she’s going to do the show, we talked about that and s### here we are. The show’s been great. It’s definitely more positive…

AllHipHop: Then people make it out to be?

Bee-B: No, it’s more positive than it was. Due to Black Lives Matter, due to women empowerment now and the #MeToo movement. The network has been wanted to be more empowering. Less ratchet, less fighting, less throwing drinks in each other’s face. It isn’t really too much of that anymore. Don’t say it’s not no drama because it is, there’s drama, but the drama is real life drama. Talking to your friend, resolving the conflict. Talking to your family members who you might have an issue with, dealing with your baby daddy that’s in your life. For me, I’ve been having fun.

AllHipHop: Do you have a love interest on the show?

Bee-B: I don’t have a love interest on the show but I am dating somebody… who I’m considering taking on the show.

AllHipHop: Is he in the music industry?

Bee-B: He is.

AllHipHop: Do I know him?

Bee-B: You might. [laughs]

AllHipHop: Coming up in Compton, you had your own experiences in the city. Did you think you’d be here today? All these accomplishments under your belt.

Bee-B: No, I did not think I’d be here today. My path for myself was so different then what my path has been. But I’ve never been out, and I’m really grateful for that. I knew that I’ve wanted to do music since I was 8 years old. I’ve been singing since I was 8, I knew that. Obviously we all have things we would’ve done different, but for the most part I’m really grateful.

AllHipHop: How does it feel to get the co-sign from Missy and Timbaland?

Bee-B: Oh God! I didn’t think they were going to clear the record, so I’m really happy that they did.

AllHipHop: Did you have to pull strings?

Bee-B: You know, that’s all Harmony. [Laughs] I remember the night before the record released that we did have their clearance, for us to release the record and it wouldn’t be taken down. That’s another thing about the music business. I’m an artist that because I work on both sides, I understand how the music business works. You can’t interpolate other people’s records, sample records and not get clearances because they’ll shut your s### down. So I made sure to get that. I wanted to make sure I paid them respect, that I respected what they had done before us. I didn’t want it to be another “Blurred Lines” situation with Robin Thicke and Marvin Gaye. [laughs]

AllHipHop: Wild! I interviewed Robin Thicke last year too.

Bee-B: Even with that it’s a sticky situation, because we are heavily influenced by each other. Oftentimes, I don’t think creatives mean any disrespect towards other creatives. I think they genuinely are inspired. I’ve been inspired by Missy and Timbaland since I was little. I’ve always raped and sung like Missy I’m a dark skin woman just like Missy. I’m a curvier girl just like Missy, I’m super creative just like her. I wanted to make sure the respect was there.

AllHipHop: How was it working with Babyface?

Bee-B: Oh my god, Babyface?! Bruh, he’s incredible. I think he’s 60 at this point, and he sounds as if he’s 25. He’s still in it, still in the thick of music. He put on a songwriters camp for an untitled project he’s working on in Atlanta, along with Ciroc. Keyz from Ayo & Keyz is the head producer who put it together. They had Samye Scott from Atlantic Records. They went around to each room talking to us, guiding us, mentoring us, writing with us.

It was a once in a lifetime experience, I’m really grateful. At the time, I was asking God “give me a sign to keep going.” I got that call like damn! Just to be amongst everyone else: Eric Bellinger was there. Hitmaker was there. The producer SK, there were so many producers. Chris Tucker even popped up just to be in the room, it was such a star-studded event. Tricky Stewart, Sean Garrett, Dallas Austin.

AllHipHop: Those are Atlanta GOATs!

Bee-B: Right! And I got to be there. I was so nervous, but also very grateful.

AllHipHop: Did you learn anything from working with them?

Bee-B: I learned to take my time with making records. Not hopping in and freestyling because it sounds cool, but really taking the time to understand what it is that you’re saying and why you’re saying it. Babyface kept asking “well, why are you saying that?” Walking through the song, he’s like “why are you jumping to this part?” We were talking about the songs and the lyrics, that opened up my mind up to a while different style of songwriting and method of songwriting. I’m really grateful, I got to learn from the GOAT!

Dave Chappelle Says DaBaby Canceled Over Gays But Not Murder

Dave Chappelle has dropped a new stand-up special called The Closer on Netflix.

The comedy special is Dave Chappelle’s sixth stand-up release for Netflix. The special is meant to wrap up a series of releases for the streaming service that began with 2017’s The Age of Spin.

The legendary comedian’s past Netflix specials have garnered controversy, particularly for his jokes about gay and transgender people. He returns to the topic of the LGBTQ community in The Closer.

In the special, Dave Chappelle discusses the backlash to DaBaby’s homophobic comments at the 2021 Rolling Loud Miami festival. He suggests the LGBTQ community doesn’t know DaBaby was involved in a fatal shooting of a teen in 2018.

“A lot of the LGBTQ community doesn’t know the DaBaby’s history,” Dave Chappelle said in his new special. “He’s a wild guy. He once shot a n#### and killed him in Walmart. Oh, this is true, Google it. DaBaby shot and killed a n#### in Walmart in North Carolina. Nothing bad happened to his career. Do you see where I’m going with this? In our country, you can shoot and kill a n####, but you better not hurt a gay person’s feelings.”

DaBaby claimed he shot 19-year-old Jalyn Craig at a Huntersville, North Carolina Walmart in an act of self-defense. Craig was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Interscope Records rapper was charged with carrying a concealed weapon in connection to the shooting. Charges against DaBaby were ultimately dropped in 2019.

Dave Chappelle’s The Closer is available to stream here. Stan Lathan, who has directed all of Chappelle’s Netflix specials, is back in the director’s chair for the comedian’s latest release.

R Kelly Promises To Snitch On Other Child Predators In The Industry

R Kelly is reportedly promising to snitch on other child predators in the industry.

According to Chicago’s WGCI-FM — an iHeartRadio station — the disgraced R&B singer, who was convicted of multiple counts including racketeering, sexual exploitation of a child, kidnapping, bribery, sex trafficking, and violation of the Mann Act, is allegedly trying to work it out with the prosecutors in Illinois in exchange for a reduced sentence.

As can be expected, Wack100 weighed in and gave his two cents about the R Kelly situation. But, based on Wack100’s post, it sounds like he either knows who they are, or he has some idea who the finger will be getting pointed at. Check out his post below.

If this is true, then they all need to go down. No matter what genre of music they’re in — no matter how much power they have in the industry (perceived or otherwise) — no matter what color their skin, or how well they can sing or dance or play an instrument — if they attacked children, they gotta go. They all gotta go. Investigate them all. Try them all. Convict them all. And hit them with the same charges, if not worse, than R Kelly got. Leave nobody out.

Who do you think is on the R Kelly “snitch list”?

O Racks Ft. Rhoco Benjie & Zeeko – “Im The Type”

Following his collaboration with Pop Smoke affiliate Sosa Geek, O Racks connects with Drake-producer Yozora for “I’m The Type.”

Accompanied by Rhoco Benjie and Zeeko, the follow-up to “We Made It” finds the New York native adopting a Detroit / LA-influenced flow while boasting about his lavish lifestyle. The trio effortlessly trade bars over the bouncy beat setting the stage for the Tree Gang Entertainment CEO’s next release.

“In Hollywood everyone parties together. When you’re not an LA native you notice the local’s taste in music. From what I witnessed, most people gravitate towards Cali and Detroit-type beats because the energy makes it easy to dance to. So I told the producer to send me something in that lane. Soon as I heard it, the first verse just flew out – I’m the type of n#### start it up and air it out. The rest was history,” says O Racks when describing the song’s origin.

Born and raised in Hempstead, O Racks decided early in life he would pursue music professionally. Dedicated to the craft, O Racks began rapping and creating songs, even traveling outside of the tri-city area expanding his reach to Rhode Island, California, Atlanta, and Miami.

With each release he acquired more fans and sharpened his skills, eventually catching the ear of Rich The Kid. The relationship spawned two records, “Prices” and “Look At Me, ” which received radio airplay soon after being released. Fast forward, he incorporated his independent music label Tree Gang Entertainment and took it to Hollywood.

DJ Envy Agrees To Stop Using “Carchella” Name After Legal Action By Coachella

DJ Envy has opted to avoid a costly war with the founders of Coachella.

The company behind the famous concert brand claimed DJ Envy ripped them off when he introduced his Carchella car shows in July of 2021.

The Breakfast Club co-host was marketing Carchella, which featured tricked-out rides owned by popular rappers like 50 Cent, Lil Baby, Swizz Beatz, Lil Uzi, and others.

Organizers insisted DJ Envy was confusing the marketplace by launching a brand with a name to the world-famous Coachella festival. Coachella bosses said they sent DJ Envy a cease and desist letter, which he ignored – until they filed a lawsuit against him last month.

Last week, lawyers for Coachella and DJ Envy sent a letter to Judge Claire C. Cecchi, stating both sides had come to a temporary agreement.

He agreed to a preliminary injunction and a temporary restraining order. He agreed to refrain from advertising, promoting, marketing, or hosting an event under the name Carchella.

Judge Cecchi signed off on the order. The move seems to signal that the trademark infringement lawsuit will be settled by November 1st when both parties are slated to head back into court.

DJ Envy appears to be keeping up his end of the agreement, although it is not clear if his Carchella diamond chain will cause him problems.

Envy has changed the name of his event from Carchella to the Drive Your Dreams Car Show. The next event is slated for October 30th at the TCT Center in Detroit.

Cars owned by Fabolous, 42 Dugg, Royce Da 5’9, and Ice Wear Vezzo will be featured during the family-friendly festival, complete with amusement rides, carnival games, and even monster trucks!

DJ Envy is also preparing to host another massive event in Miami on December 12th at the Miami Convention Center.

The RZA and Alex Tsu Talk Wu-Tang Series, Acting, Comics And How To Get Drake And Kanye To Squash Their Beef

The “Wu-Tang: An American Saga” has returned for a second season, and finally, fans get to see the back story of the original Wu nine members.

AllHipHop.com had the opportunity to sit with The RZA and Alex Tse to talk about incorporating comic books and Kung Fu into the storylines, how the young actor that plays Bobby Digital learned to mimic him “to a tee,” and what happens when you hold a sword the wrong way.

They also threw out some advice on how to get Drake and Kanye to recognize each other as brothers: get them on a ferry.

Journalist Kershaw St. Jawnson was able to chat it up with the two showrunners during the middle of the series season two hoping to get some tidbits about the making of the Emmy-nominated biopic.

AllHipHop: RZA, you all we all out with the first couple of episodes. I am itching for the fifth episode to come on. My burning question is, ‘How did you get the young man that plays your role to get the cadence of your speech pattern down pack so beautifully?

RZA: He [Ashton Sanders] is the type of dude that kept looking at you. He’s one of those guys. I’ll never forget when he was doing music training, we had to rent out a studio. I get the SP1200 and I went to show him how I play it and how I used it. He actually [repeated me]. When I said something, he’d say right after me. If I walked to the left, he’d walk to the left. So, he’s the guy that really looks and studies his craft.

Ashton Sanders, hats off for doing what he does.

AllHipHop: I’d love to see the conversation develop on how you incorporated the Kung Fu movies into your mythology coming from Staten Island. How were you able to (and Alex you can jump in), how were you able to translate that to film so effortlessly?

RZA: First of all, Alex Tse is a comic book reader, writing movies like Watchman. Even think about Sucker Free (another movie) … knowing Superfly … knowing both of these blendings of cultures … as a writer myself … being someone who loves this … this is what we do!

Alex Tse: We always said that we wanted the show to mirror the music and how he integrated that into his music, and so now you know, we had to integrate that into the show. There were movies that meant a lot to him, and to the other Wu brothers. We picked a few and of those movies which fit into what we’re trying to tell in this moment. What can mirror that and then we would then narrow down what those movies would be. Then start talking about how we integrate them in an organic way into the show’s episode. So, that’s kind of how it starts if that makes sense.

AllHipHop: It does make sense. Did you guys use the same kind when you guys were working with the music? The music overlaps the imagery perfectly.

RZA: Yeah, we were able to bring in King Tech from the West Coast and from The Sway and Tech Wake Up Show. We had Rich Nice, Sean C, and even Mathematics all on set, all the time. Even when Alex and I were in post, we trusted Hip-Hop legends to keep everything on course. It really helped out.

This one funny thing: Later on in the season, when the Wu-Tang sword comes out, one of the actors is holding this certain way. And Rich Nice was like, “Nah, Nah, Nah … Wu-Tang holds the sword like this.” And they re-did it. They shot it and edited it well.

AllHipHop: The coming together on the ferry … How true is that? You as The Abbot … How did you get these two warring sides to come together as brothers? Is it something that we should maybe apply to Hip-Hop as a culture?

RZA: You know, funny as somebody said this yesterday, “Hey RZA, what do you think you could get Drake and Kanye on a ferry?”

The ferry boat ride really happened. Of course, we dramatized it, and we interpreted it for TV, but it happened. I think the common denominator of it all is that positivity outweighs negativity. Everybody on that boat and every member of Wu-Tang has enough knowledge of self to know that. They just had to let themselves accept it, and we all accepted.

AllHipHop: I love it, and you have blessed my life just being a collective (Shyheim included). We know we know who’s who. We know. Thank you guys very much.

Wu-Tang: An American Saga 2 stars Ashton Sanders as Bobby Diggs aka The RZA; Shameik Moore as Sha aka Raekwon; Siddiq Saunderson as Dennis “D-Love” Coles aka Ghostface Killah; Julian Elijah Martinez as Divine Diggs; Marcus Callender as Power Grant; Erika Alexander as Linda Diggs; Zolee Griggs as Shurrie Diggs; David “Dave East” Brewster as Shotgun aka Method Man; TJ Atoms as Ason Unique aka Ol’ Dirty Bastard and Johnell Xavier Young as Gary/Allah Justice aka The GZA.

The series comes on Tuesday nights on Hulu, the streaming service which grants you access to thousands of TV shows and movies.

Trap Music Museum To Showcase Christopher “The Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace Exhibit

The Trap Music Museum and The Bishop Art Gallery joined forces to present “The Only Christopher We Acknowledge Is Wallace” in Atlanta. The “Volume 2 – ATL Edition” of the exhibit will launch on October 11.

An invitation-only opening event honoring the life of late New York City-raised rapper Christopher “The Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace is scheduled for that date. The exhibit will be viewable for the public at the Trap Music Museum until November 11.

“Growing up in NYC, Biggie’s music always curated a vibe. When pitched the opportunity to honor him through art – it was a no-brainer,” states Krystal Garner, General Manager of Trap Music Museum.

In 2018, Clifford “T.I.” Harris announced the Trap Music Museum in connection with the 15th anniversary of the Atlanta emcee’s Trap Muzik album. Since that time, the Hip Hop-focused gallery partnered with Google for the “Explore Atlanta” project and commemorated this year’s Juneteenth holiday with “A Celebration of Everything Black.”

Dave Chappelle Raises Money For DC’s Duke Ellington School Of The Arts

Dave Chappelle’s latest comedy special, The Closer, premiered on Netflix today (October 5). Before the Stan Lathan-directed show hit the streaming platform, Chappelle made a visit to Washington, DC.

According to WRC-TV, the legendary comedian was in his hometown on Monday to help raise funds for his high school alma mater. Dave Chappelle reportedly hosted the private Angelika Pop-Up event which served as a premiere for The Closer and a fundraiser for the Duke Ellington School of the Arts.

“I started doing stand-up in Washington, D.C., 34 years ago,” said Chappelle. “When I was a beginner I was also a student at the Ellington School. That school informed me artistically. It gave me the courage to pursue my dreams. It gave me the context to think of myself as an artist.”

The Duke Ellington School of the Arts is naming a theater after its famous alumnus. Chappelle is quoted saying, “My entire career was predicated on what I learned. I do not have any formal education beyond Ellington, and look what I was able to achieve. I’m so grateful for that place.”

Named after iconic jazz bandleader Edward Kennedy “Duke” Ellington, the Ellington School produced numerous well-known entertainers and scholars. R&B singers Johnny Gill, Meshell Ndegeocello, and Ari Lennox as well as actor Corey Hawkins, actress Samira Wiley, and cultural writer Michaela Angela Davis attended the DC school as students.

YoungBoy Never Broke Again scored his fourth career #1 album on the Billboard 200. Sincerely, Kentrell debuted atop this week’s chart.

Not only did NBA YoungBoy add another chart-topper to his résumé, the rap star born Kentrell Gaulden cemented his name in the record books. He became the first Hip Hop artist and second overall act with a No. 1 album in 2019, 2020, and 2021.

Boosie Badazz Reacts To Instagram Being Shut Down

Boosie Badazz constantly complained for months about his account being removed from Instagram for violating the terms of service. The Baton Rouge rapper had more to say about the social media platform.

In September, Boosie expressed his anger over his IG page being removed while he was promoting his My Struggle movie. That Twitter rant included Boosie insulting Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri’s wife.

According to reports, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram were offline for six hours yesterday. The global outage started around noon ET on Monday.

Boosie used Twitter to offer his thoughts on Instagram and the other Facebook-owned companies being temporarily shut down. The 38-year-old southerner suggested the outage was an act of God.

“THEY TOOK MY INSTAGRAM [AND] THEN EVERYTHING GOT SHUT DOWN!! #gods #annointed,” tweeted Boosie Badazz on Tuesday night.

This is not the first time Boosie invoked the Almighty when discussing certain issues. He also said “God is doing backflips” over LGBTQ representation on television and in the media.

In addition to Boosie Badazz, additional Hip Hop stars addressed users having trouble accessing Instagram. Soulja Boy even referenced the “Wipe Me Down” rhymer when he tweeted, “Boosie somewhere rubbing his hands like Birdman 🤣.”

Snoop Dogg Brings Out Shaq To Perform “Nuthin But A G Thang”

Snoop Dogg and Shaquille O’Neal joined forces for a good cause this weekend, sharing the stage to perform a Hip-Hop classic.

Shaq’s “Shaquille O’Neal Foundation” held their inaugural charity bash, “‘The Event’ Presented by Pepsi Stronger Together” Saturday night (October 2) in Las Vegas. The night was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and included performances from Justin Bieber, Kelly Clarkson, and Snoop.

It was during the California icon’s set that Shaq made his surprise performance. Giving the NBA legend his flowers, Snoop introduced him to the stage: “I wanna do something real special right now,” he told the crowd. “I wanna bring out somebody that means a lot to me. One of my dear friends who I feel like we got in at the same time. We been doing the same things lately and he’s the man of the night. So if you don’t mind, we gon’ do something special for y’all. Never before, never seen, Snoop Dogg and Shaq. Let’s go.”

The pair then launched into a rendition of Dr. Dre‘s The Chronic single “Nuthin But A G Thang” to the delight of the Vegas audience. Shaq got in his rapper bag, like he has many times before, delivering his bars flawlessly. Shaq is comfortable spitting bars having previously collaborated with artists including The Notorious B.I.G, Twista, Method Man, DJ Quik, and more.

Some of Snoop’s other A-list celebrity relationships also got the internet talking recently. His chemistry with friend and business partner Martha Stewart caused some on Twitter to question just how close the pair really are.

Then, it was reported that the legendary rapper invited Royal couple Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for Thanksgiving Dinner!

The biggest news came on September 30 with the announcement that Snoop would be performing at the Super Bowl Halftime Show alongside long-time collaborator Dr. Dre and “friends,” Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, and Eminem.

Dr. Dre Allegedly Has A Mistress And Fathered A Love Child

Dr. Dre’s very public divorce continues to be plastered across the headlines, and now filings from an associated case allege not only that the rapper has been unfaithful, but that a child has allegedly come from the union.

According to reports the allegations have emerged from Dre’s prenup dispute with his estranged wife, Nicole Young. Young’s legal team is seeking to have three women deposed, Jillian Speer, Kili Anderson, and Crystal Rogers. They say the women are Dr. Dre’s mistresses.

Rumors of an affair between Dre and one of the women, Killi Anderson, have been around since 2013. Tabloids have reported the whispers that Anderson and Dre have a child together, something Dre has denied.

The rumors have reached the courtroom via a labor dispute between Anderson and her company “Body Bakery” and a former employee. It is reported that Dr. Dre’s name comes up in court papers filed in 2019 in the Superior Court of California.

Amongst the alleged fireable offenses committed by former tanning salon employee Brian Zerba, the papers claim: “Additionally, the owner of the tanning salon Kili Anderson, is said to have been in a relationship with the famous rapper Dr. Dre, with whom she had a child, and therefore she required all at will employees to sign a confidentiality agreement that they would not pry into her life and would keep all things that they learned about her life private.”

Anderson’s legal team alleges that Plaintiff constantly asked other employees about “Ms. Anderson, her child, and what was the nature of her relationship with Dr. Dre,” continually violating the terms of his employment.

Anderson’s lawyers are also claiming that she’s being sued in a shakedown,” and, “Plaintiff believes that defendant has money because she is involved in a relationship with a celebrity/artist.”

The three alleged mistresses were all fined $2,500 last April for “resisting” efforts to subpoena them although their lawyer claimed none of them had “relevant” information in Dre’s divorce case. The judge disagreed.

Dr. Dre was recently announced as one of the superstar performers for the Super Bowl Halftime Show. Also on the bill are Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, and Eminem.

Boosie Afterparty Ends After Man Shot Multiple Times

Boosie is back in the headlines again, this time following a reported shooting at his afterparty in Baltimore. Mere days after having his “Legendz of the Street” concert shut down a man reports are emerging of an incident where a man was shot multiple times.

The “Set It Off” rapper was unable to perform at his scheduled show or other venues in Baltimore and Greensboro, N.C, because of the reputation he’s garnering for attracting trouble wherever he goes.

However, Boosie still wanted to attend the post-show celebrations during “Championship Sundays” at the Euphoria Nightclub, which is where, according to local news reports, the shooting took place in the early hours of Monday morning (October 4.)

Law enforcement says the shooting began around 1:38 a.m. local time after a fight broke out inside the club. Police patrolling the local area heard the gunfire and soon located a bullet-ridden vehicle with a shattered window.

An unidentified man checked into a local hospital suffering several gunshot wounds. According to reports, the victim was shot in the head and upper body and is currently in critical condition.  No reports have been made of Boosie being involved.

The news comes after the Baton Rouge, Louisiana native claimed he was banned from performing by “Legendz of the Street” tour promoters following an onstage brawl involving the rapper himself at the State Farm Arena, ATL on Friday (1 October.)

According to Boosie, fans who wanted to see him on the tour are having problems arranging refunds. He took to Twitter to shout, “THIS IS THE MOVE THEY PULLING OFF ON THE TOUR SO U CANT GET REFUNDS, READ IT CLEAR LOL LIKE PEOPLE GO READ A SIDE DOOR LOL S### OUT TO ALL MY BALTIMORE FANS. LOVE YALL”

Boosie has had some very public disputes with Instagram over the social media giant shutting down his account for continued rule violations. Today, at Instagram’s darkest hour, Boosie took to Twitter for a spot of trolling.

Jay-Z’s Cannabis Company Buys “Coastal Dispensary” For Up To $65 Million

Jay-Z continues to make huge moves in the Cannabis market this time with the recent acquisition of “Coastal Dispensary.”

Back in June, Hov’s holding company in the cannabis space bought 85% of “Calma,” A West-Hollywood dispensary. This deal is for 100% of the equity in dispensary and delivery company “Coastal Holding Co. LLC,” for $16.2 million in cash and $40 million in shares. It includes four dispensary locations across California with a fifth currently under construction. The five stores will be visited by about a thousand people a day. A further $9 million could be added to the deal with the addition of equity in other stores.

As well as the rapid expansion of his Cannabis business, Jay-Z is also continuing his work in social justice reform currently advocating on behalf of one of his fans who is currently in prison serving 20 years on a marijuana charge. Valon Vailes reached out to HOV via letter pleading for “help with the intent to campaign for my clemency.” Highlighting the hypocrisy of the system under which he is currently imprisoned he wrote “13 and a half years is a long time to be still incarcerated over a substance that has become the ultimate green rush.” The case is ongoing with Jay-Z’s “Monogram” continuing their efforts.

In 2019 Roc Nation’s own Jim Jones linked up with celebrity jeweler Alex Todd to form cannabis brand “Saucey Farms and Extracts.” In May they signed a distribution partnership with “The Parent Company” allowing them to expand their brand to many more dispensaries.

Speaking last month about his Roc Nation label boss who he referred to as “the big, big homie,” he said:

“Jay is a smart individual. I mean, whenever he steps into something, we all know it’s going to be at the top tier of what can be done, as far as the power of his structure,” Jones said. “He’s created like an Amazon inside of this marijuana business, especially for people like ourselves, who’ve come up under the culture, now pushing marijuana as a business. He knows where to get in when it comes to business.”

Speaking on the opportunities Jay-Z has been able to create for others Jones continued, “As opposed to him just coming in with his own marijuana brand and just getting into dispensaries and make it a big thing, he actually made it a platform for other people to come eat with him, and help other people off the platform to enter the marijuana business so that it can be lucrative.”

Netflix Funds $5.4 Million Chadwick Boseman Scholarship At Howard University

Netflix has partnered with Howard University to establish a $5.4 million scholarship in honor of the late Chadwick Boseman.

The Chadwick A. Boseman Memorial Scholarship covers four years of tuition for Howard students in the College of Fine Arts. The first four scholarships have been awarded to a freshman, sophomore, junior and senior.

“It is with immense pleasure and deep gratitude that we announce the creation of an endowed scholarship in honor of alumnus Chadwick Boseman, whose life and contributions to the arts continue to inspire,” Howard University president Dr. Wayne A. I. Frederick said in a statement. “This scholarship embodies Chadwick’s love for Howard, his passion for storytelling, and his willingness to support future generations of Howard students. I am thankful for the continuous support and partnership of Chadwick’s wife, Mrs. Simone Ledward-Boseman, and to Netflix for this important gift.”

Netflix’s co-CEO and chief content officer Ted Sarandos added, “It is with enormous pride that we announce our endowment of the Chadwick A. Boseman Memorial Scholarship. While he was taken from us too soon, his spirit is with us always in his work and the good that he has inspired. He always spoke of his time at Howard and the positive way it shaped his life and career. Now, we will have the opportunity to give many future superheroes a chance to experience the same.”

Going forward, the scholarship will be given to an incoming freshman on an annual basis. The recipients will be students who have “exceptional skills” in the arts and a financial need.

“Many exemplary artists are not afforded the opportunity to pursue higher learning,” the late actor’s widow Simone Ledward-Boseman said. “We hope to support as many students as possible by removing the financial barrier to education. This endowment represents Chad’s devotion to the craft, his compassion for others and his desire to support future storytellers.”

Chadwick Boseman passed away in August 2020 after privately battling colon cancer. He was 43.
