Matthew’s compositions incorporate a variety of sounds that, on their own, do not appear to be capable of producing something noteworthy. Rappers Who Opened Up For Jim Jones Accused Of Killing Man After Show

Two Connecticut rappers are charged with killing a man after they opened up for rap star Jim Jones.

The Hartford Courant reports that suspects Reginald Miles, and Andre Reed, were performers at Off The Hook Lounge, where Jim Jones made an appearance at a day party.

After the concert ended shortly after 8:00 p.m., a group of men and an SUV did a drive-by and struck three people in a crowd.

One man was struck in the chest and the shoulders. He was rushed to St Mary’s hospital, where he eventually succumbed to his injuries.

Although the other two victims were seriously injured, they managed to survive their gunshots wounds.

When the police interviewed the injured man at the hospital, one of them identified a man in a red mask who had performed at the concert as an opening act.

Police scoured social media posts, and eventually found the man and the red mask, who revealed his identity when he pulled the mask down during his performance.

Investigators eventually retrieved surveillance video, which showed Miles putting on the red mask before the shooting started.

The cops eventually collared miles and reed, and charge them with murder, conspiracy the commit murder, and other charges.

Miles is being held on a $3 million bond, and Reed is sitting in jail on a $2 million bond.

Consequence Defends Kanye West Against Drake Diss on Trippie Redd Song

Toronto native Drake has released his new song “Betrayal” featuring Trippie Redd and appears to diss fellow rapper Kanye West.

The potshot seems to be the latest episode in the two’s ongoing feud, and people are starting to take note.

On “Betrayal,” Drake sings, “All these fools I’m beefin’ that I barely know … Forty-five, forty-four (Burned out) … let it go / Ye ain’t changin’ s### for me … it’s set in stone!”

One person that responded was Consequence, the former A Tribe Called Quest associate, former “Love and Hip Hop” cast member, and former G.O.O.D. Music label signee took to social media to defend Kanye.

“F### a Betrayal It’s the Disrespect for me dawg Wit Trippie Redd Shotgun Respect My Team It’s Party Time #QueensAllDay”

https://twitter.com/ItsTheCons/status/1429094166747885575?s=20

The slick diss is referring to Kanye’s shifting of his release date for his upcoming album Donda three times.

The thought is that he was afraid to compete with Nas and/or Drake, and is working overtime to curate a victory.

The Billionaire rapprreneur has been winning in business, closing his epic deal with Gap and Adidas, but after losing the presidential election and losing his wife, he might just need to get a quick “W.”

Drake has peeped his card and wants him to know that he sees that for Kanye, a top spot on the Billboard and streaming charts seems to be a must for him.

Take a listen to “Betrayal”:

Casanova Co-Defendant “Trouble” Takes Plea For Tire-Iron Beating With Gorilla Stone’s Godmother

The Feds continue their successful prosecution of the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation without having to go to trial.

Earlier this week, another prominent member of the gang decided to take a plea deal, instead of risking decades in prison.

Roberta ‘Trouble” Sligh is one of 18 members of the gang charged in a RICO indictment that ensnared rap star Casanova.

Casanova and 17 other members of the Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation were charged with everything from murder and running guns, to dealing crack and committing vicious assaults.

Sligh, who is a Peekskill, New York-based member of the gang, was charged with moving large amounts of crack cocaine around her hometown and “devastating” the small community with drugs on behalf of Gorilla Stone.

Sligh was also charged with the brutal beat down of a person with the help of the gang’s “Godmother” Naya “Baby” Austin, while a third person used a tire-iron, at a local convenience store in April of 2020.

Additionally, Sligh was charged with helping the gang procure guns.

To make matters worse for Sligh, she was already serving 5 years of probation for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree. During a post-Miranda interview with a detective, she proudly boasted of being a member of Gorilla Stone.

Sligh has decided to plead guilty instead of facing a trial, where she was facing a mandatory minimum of 15 years in prison for racketeering, narcotics conspiracy, possession of firearms in furtherance of narcotics conspiracy, and aiding and abetting.

Sligh will appear at the White Plains Courthouse on September 9, 2021, at 2:30 p.m. to plead guilty.

Sligh is the fourth member of Gorilla Stone who has pleaded guilty.

Shanay “Easy” Outlaw, Jordan “Flow” Ingram and Stephen “Chino” Hugh have all pleaded guilty.

50 Cent Fights Drug Kingpin’s Billion-Dollar “Power” Theft Claim

50 Cent is defending his “Power” franchise from a man who wants a billion dollars from the rapper.

As AllHipHop first reported in April of 2021, Cory “Ghost” Holland Sr. filed the ten-figure lawsuit against 50 Cent, Courtney Kemp, Starz, claiming “Power” is based on his life as a New York drug kingpin.

According to Holland, he produced a cautionary tale about his life as a drug-lord in 2007, put it on CD, and distributed it to at-risk children.

Holland claims he met with Courtney Kemp’s father in the early 1990s to discuss his life story as he attempted to exit the drug trade.

In 2007, Holland said he mailed a copy of his CD to Kemp’s dad. The CD had an autobiographical song where he raps about being a “druglord,” falling in love with his “teen crush” (who is Puerto Rican) and finding out from his white, best friend/drug trafficking partner that his teen crush now works in law enforcement.

Holland claimed he also rapped about leaving his wife, who is a Black woman, for his Puerto-Rican love interest. At the end of the song, someone tries to murder Holland.

He claims Mr. Kemp shared the CD with Courtney, and that 50 Cent ultimately received a copy and ripped off his life story.

Holland claims over 200 scenes in the hit series are based on his life, and that law enforcement raided his home when “Power” aired.

“This is not one of those lawsuits from a deranged fan or some somebody trying capitalize-off someone else’s success,” Holland said. “This is about the actual theft of my life, and the damages that it has done as well the profits that the defendants have made from the of stealing and telling my life story without my consent.”

However, 50 Cent and his legal team with Starz beg to differ.

Earlier this week, 50’s legal team fired back at Holland in an attempt to have the complaint dismissed.

“[Holland] fails to state any claim upon which relief can be granted. More specifically, [Holland] fails to identify any defamatory statements made about him in connection with the fictional television series ‘Power,'” 50 Cent’s lawyer, Joanna M. Hill, of law firm Katten Muchin Rosenman, explained.

“He fails to allege that his name, portrait or picture was used in connection with Power, or that any such use was a prohibited advertising use,” Hill added.

50 Cent Denies Stealing Power From Drug Dealer

The rapper’s lawyers claim Holland’s lawsuit is a frivolous attempt to cash in on the success of “Power” and its spin-offs.

Hill also argues that Holland filed his lawsuit too late.

The last episode of “Power” aired in February 2020. Holland filed his lawsuit in April of 2021, so his claim is barred by the one-year statute of limitations under New York law.

“It is evident that the characters in ‘Power’ are entirely fictionalized and therefore, no reasonable person could rationally believe any character in the series is based on [Holland] or his life,” Hill concluded.

Travis Scott And Kylie Jenner Expecting Another Baby

Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner are going to be proud parents again, now that she’s expecting baby number two.

According to reports, Kylie is in the early stages of her pregnancy with the child. It is too early to know the sex of the child and neither Kylie or Travis has revealed a due date for their new bundle of joy..

Kylie Jenner has always made it clear that she did not want the 3-year-old toddler she shares with Travis Scott to be an only child. As for Travis, he has embraced the responsibility of fatherhood with open, loving arms.

The couple welcomed Stormi into the world on February 1, 2018. Since then, the rapper has completely changed his outlook on life.

Travis has credited being a dad inspiring him musically, as well as forcing him to become more responsive as a person in general.

“Fatherhood influences my job. It’s a major inspiration, you know what I’m saying? Especially Storm, she’s just acting like a kid. She’s always interested, she catches on and learns things and adapts to things so fast,” Travis said in an interview with I-D magazine.

The rapper added that he no longer lives for himself anymore, and that he is laser focused on the well-being of his growing family, including Kylie.

“Kids show you a different outlook on life, how they view things, the type of pressures they have and what makes them happy, what makes them move… She realizes she’s there, she’s ready to see now. I realized my job is way more important than what I thought because of her. More responsibility, you know? You’ve got to use that properly.”

Ice-T Mourns Over Murder Of His Close Friend

Prayers are going out to West Coast legend Ice T, as he mourns the death of his beloved friend and collaborator Joseph “Taheim” Bryan.

The writer and producer was shot dead in the streets of New York City and the bereaved actor-turned-rapper wants justice.

The New York Post reported Bryan’s death on Thursday night around 11:15 pm. He was shot while sitting in his Mercedes-Benz outside of a Jackson Park luxury apartment complex in Long Island City.

Bryan had recently worked with “Colors” rapper on his new indie action film, Equal Standard that star’s Naught by Nature’s lead rapper, Treach.

Ice T took to social media to break the news, saying, “MFs Killed my friend last night. I’m not in a good place behind this.”

“Taheim was a GOOD dude making Positive moves,” he continued. “He wrote & we made the film EqualStandard together. He leaves a Wife&Daughter Dirty MFs followed him home and Murdered him.”

The murder was horrible as law enforcement said that the shooter shot seven times into the driver’s side of the vehicle.

The bullets struck Bryan four times in his arm and torso as he tried to run away from the attack.

Bryan was taken to NYC’s Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Sean Paul May Do Housework On OnlyFans

Sean Paul has joked he might do housework on OnlyFans.

The musician – whose new single “Only Fanz” has launched on the subscription content platform with different versions of its music video – has opened up on his decision to sign up to the service, and his plans for the future.

Referencing Cardi B’s account – which gave fans an insight into her real life – he laughed: “I’ll see what I can do with the platform in the future. Maybe I’ll clean too, that would be interesting.”

Sean collaborated with Ty Dolla $ign on the track, which celebrates women using the site and the opportunities it gives them.

He told the Daily Star newspaper’s Wired column: “I remember not too long ago in the 70s and 80s when I was growing up, ladies had fewer opportunities.

“And so to see this happening is just crazy that the lady can be the bread winner over the man. So big up to the ladies working hard, expressing their talent and make some money.”

And the star explained he only signed up to the site to promote his new single.

He said: “I did my own OnlyFans page just for this song. The video is on there, there’s a clean version and a not-so-clean version and a naughty version.”

2Eleven ft Slum Lord Trill and C.M.L. – “Big Business” (P### by 89 Beats)

Today West Coast record label 4M Entertainment founded by music industry insider Big Business is bringing attention to 2Eleven’s new single aptly titled, “Big Business.” Led by Inglewood mainstay 2Eleven and featuring Slum Lord Trill and CML this song is now available on all major streaming sites and is an anthem for Big Business’ rapidly growing 4M Entertainment imprint.

Starting off as a resourceful connection in California for Bone Thugs n Harmony, Big Business started off as a “little bro” to the Grammy Award winning rap group providing them with connections on cars, multi-media production teams, producers, studios and whatever they needed.

“I started off as just an assistant of sorts to Bone Thugs n Harmony being a young ni**a who’s just down. Then I started bringing things to the table; connections on cars, camera people, producers, studios, just different things that artists needed,” Big Business explained.  “I was also around a childhood friend named Topic who was signed to SRC Records and then I started making different things happen for YG 400. Putting security teams together, marketing strategies, dealing with street politics for artists. So with all of that going on I started my own management situation which eventually formed into me having my own label.”

Solidifying his roster of talent with a range of diverse artists, Big Business has planted seed after seed to grow his 4M Entertainment. To date his current roster includes, Cliché, Cap City Kid, Black Samm, the 06 Boys consisting of Real Jay the Great and Bang Bro, Nbm King, and Dolccee.

“Currently I’m only working on singles and EP’s for the time being. Blakk Samm, Cap City Kid and the 06 boys all have EP’s out as of right now,” Big Business said.   “My goal for the upcoming year is to take all my artists to the next level. Get all my artists to their full potential and continue to grow as a label with new artists and new fanbases for each artist. You gotta make money moves and maintain.”

In fact the phrase “make money moves and maintain” is the motto that led to the naming of his 4M Entertainment brand.

“Make money moves and maintain. Make the money, invest the money and maintain it, sit back and collect off of your investment, an idea I learned from real estate,” Big Business said. “The diversity on the label isn’t anything like the other labels out of LA. We have a few different personalities who have a lot to bring to the table. Creativity is at an all time high with this group of individuals and there’s a lot of talent that I look forward to showing to the world.”

Kanye West Buys $1.37 Million Sculpture Owned By George Michael

Kanye West has reportedly bought a $1.37 million sculpture that previously belonged to George Michael.

Kanye shared a picture of The Incomplete Truth artwork by Damien Hirst to Instagram, showing the sculpture of a white dove on a turquoise background, according to The Sun.

The piece was bought by the late “Faith” hitmaker in 2007 and was sold by auctioneers Christie’s following his death in 2016.

Fans have been speculating the artwork could be used for the cover of Kanye’s still unreleased Donda album.

The album’s producer Mike Dean, meanwhile, has tweeted he is back at home, not in Atlanta, Georgia, where West was still tweaking his new album until recently – prompting further speculation the album is completed.

But the mega producer weighed in on Twitter and suggested work on Donda “continues.”

“I haven’t quit anything. The album continues. Lol (laughing out loud). People read too much into tweets. Lol,” he wrote on Sunday.

The new album, named after Kanye’s late mother, was originally due to drop on July 23, before being moved back to August 6 and yet again to August 15.

But there is still no firm date for the follow up to the rapper’s last release, 2019’s Jesus Is King, although another listening session is slated for August 26.

Pharrell Williams Cousin’s Death Labeled A Homicide

The death of Pharrell Williams’ cousin has been ruled a homicide.

Donovon Lynch, 25, was shot dead by a police officer in Virginia Beach, Virginia in March and his famous relative demanded federal authorities investigate the incident.

Now, an autopsy report obtained by the New York Post has ruled Lynch died by homicide, although no criminal charges have been filed as yet.

Lynch sustained two gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A grand state jury will meet next month to discuss the case.

Back in June, Lynch’s father launched a wrongful death lawsuit, claiming his son was shot “unlawfully and without warning” in response to a separate shooting Donovon had no part in.

Virginia Beach Police officials claimed the 25 year old was “brandishing a handgun at the time of the shooting”. This allegation has been disputed.

The officer who shot Lynch was placed on administrative leave following the incident.

South Central Rapper Fat Meech Returns With Reflective New Single, “When I Was Young”

Today hometown hero and fan favorite, Fat Meech returns with a new single dubbed, “When I Was Young.”

Receiving support and high praise from verified online publications Fat Meech has a legit buzz nationally that will only continue to grow as he continues to gain traction amongst the youth.

The artwork for “When I Was Young” features a fiery backdrop with a house in flames as an LAPD chopper hoovers above. Overlaid by an image of a younger baby Fat Meech we get a dramatic first glimpse about the nature of his new single

“This song,” Fat Meech said pausing, “There’s a deep meaning to this song. You got to hear this. This song is based on when I was really young, I was more like 14-15-16. First off, I used to get high as Georgia pudding pies, let me tell you. I used to smoke and pop pills all day. The point of this song is teaching you that you can get over your struggles and move forward from those things and those lonely places that you get to. So, in order for me to get out of them, I wrote music. So, this song is based on me being young and the struggles of basically narcotics, you might as well put it like that.”

Serenading the streets with his South Central gospel, Fat Meech has developed a strong following amongst high school students and rap fans in Southern California after songs like, “DAMN,” “Dirty Scale,” “Brothers” and “Brothers 2” resonated with fans across the southland.

“Lately I have been just focusing on writing more, recording more and then waiting for the right opportunity to drop things. Due to the fact that COVID is going on,  it’s like timing is everything right now, because you know you might not be able to do a show, you might not be able to get booked, you might never do anything, so to me, I kind of tap back into the art form of it as far as my lyrics and the storytelling and everything. So, I really want my tracks to kind of speak for themselves as far as the storytelling position,” Meech said.

Kendrick Lamar Announces Departure From Top Dawg Entertainment

Focusing on telling his own personal struggles while growing up in South Central Los Angeles, Fat Meech has found that fans identify with his authentic message rather than some fabricated life that is unrealistic and glorifies the worst parts of coming up in a rough area.

“I feel like everybody has some form of an internal struggle, I mean if you tell your struggle, there has got to be somebody who will connect with it. Nobody out here is perfect. If you speak your truth, somebody’s going to be able to feel you. So, I choose to just tell my truth. It is really easy to make lyrics when you are just telling the truth. Instead of trying to make something up, I really just tell my story and I will make it sound good. And as long as you are telling your truth but if you live in your truth, something viral is going to come out every time,” he said.

Andre 3000 Starring In New Netflix Movie “White Noise”

Andre 3000 will appear in the upcoming Netflix adaptation of “White Noise.”

The Outkast star will feature in the flick, based on Don DeLillo’s 1985 novel and tentatively titled “Wheat Germ,” alongside Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig.

While his casting in the movie, directed by Noah Baumbach, has been confirmed by Pitchfork, the nature of his role is unspecified.

Throughout his career, the rapper has appeared in several film roles, including as the late Jimi Hendrix in the biopic “Jimi: All is By My Side” back in 2013, and alongside Will Ferrell and Woody Harrelson in sports comedy “Semi-Pro.”

Woman Says She Married Michael Jackson’s Ghost

A medium has claimed she is married to the ghost of Michael Jackson.

American psychic Kathleen Roberts, who also insists she is the reincarnation of Marilyn Monroe, told the U.K.’s Daily Star the late pop superstar’s ghost proposed to her “clairvoyantly” with a pink engagement ring.

She also states late civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr. officiated the ceremony and explains the Thriller hitmaker uses her body through possession or “channeling.”

“Michael stays in me all the time,” Roberts tells the outlet, “so he comes to the restroom with me and calls these special bonding moments ‘toiletries’. He loves cookies. He cusses a lot more to I’d expect him to (sic). He talks to me a lot, which is not what I expected from the shy man I saw on TV all of those years I was a fan.”

She believes Michael chose her for the otherworldly relationship because of her apparent resemblance to the late Monroe.

“I feel special that he chose me for a wife (though not on paper) we treat our relationship as though we are married. We have our ups and downs but Michael, the truth is, I just can’t stop loving you,” Kathleen adds.

Despite the ongoing alleged possession, she says Jackson, who died in 2009, has not yet consummated their ‘marriage’.

“He doesn’t like being touched back,” she reports. “He scares me with spider visions and dead corpse visions if I kiss him or try to initiate romance physically. He is very bossy and points things out like flaws and mistakes I make.

“I assume he got that from his father, so I try to overlook that because I love him and I am not perfect either.”

The boss of Top Dawg Entertainment has confirmed Kendrick Lamar is leaving the imprint.

Kendrick dropped the news today (August 20) in an open letter on a website called oklama.com.

The Compton native dropped the bombshell revelation in an open letter titled “nu thoughts” in which he stated he was currently working on his final album for Top Dawg Entertainment, the label has he called home for 17 years.

“As I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years. The Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood. May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators. As I continue to pursue my life’s calling,” Kendrick Lamar wrote.

Top Dawg also weighed in on Kendrick’s departure from the label.

Top Dawg confirmed the split was amicable, and that there is no bad blood between him and the artist he discovered as a 15-year-old known as K-Dot, in 2003.

“The whole goal when we started this thing was to make music, make money and make history. We did those ten times over and then some. TDE and its artists have provided a way to end generational curses that we were all personally born into over the last 17 years in business.” – Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith

Top Dawg said he will be backing Kendrick in any venture he decides to undertake in the future as well.

“With this being Dot’s last album on TDE, this is more of a VICTORY LAP, a celebration. I know he will be successful in whatever it is he decides to do and will have our FULL support,” Top Dawg confirmed.

Kendrick Lamar released four albums for TDE: Section.80 (2011), GOOD Kid, M.A.A.D. City (2012), To Pimp a Butterfly (2015), and Damn (2017).

In total, Kendrick sold almost 30 million equivalent album sales over the course of his career. He has also won 13 Grammy Awards.

Kendrick Lamar Announces Departure From Top Dawg Entertainment

Kendrick Lamar has announced he is leaving Top Dawg Entertainment.

Kendrick has been the flagship artist on TDE for almost 20 years, and the imprint is the only record label the rapper has recorded for, thus far.

That is set to change according to an open letter titled “nu thoughts” Kendrick penned on a new website, oklama.com.

The Pulitzer prize-winning rapper revealed he was working on his final project for TDE in the letter, while he dealt with “love, loss, and grief.”

“Love, loss, and grief have disturbed my comfort zone, but the glimmers of God speak through my music and family. While the world around me evolves, I reflect on what matters the most. The life in which my words will land next,” Kendrick Lamar wrote.

Kendrick was discovered by Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, the boss of TDE, in Compton when he was 15 years old. Tiffith signed Kendrick in 2003, after the success of the fledgling rapper’s first mixtape as K-Dot.

During his time as an artist on Top Dawg, Kendrick produced a critically acclaimed body of work starting with his debut full-length album Section.80 in 2011.

The heralded release was followed by the standout album Good Kid, M.A.A.D City,‘ which dropped on Top Dawg/Aftermath in 2012.

Kendrick followed up with To Pimp a Butterfly in 2015, followed by his last full-length album Damn, which dropped in 2017.

Kendrick offered no release date for his final album on Top Dawg, but it appears the split is amicable.

“As I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years. The Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood,” Kendrick said. “May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators. As I continue to pursue my life’s calling.”

Read Kendrick Lamar’s full open letter announcing his departure from Top Dawg Entertainment below:

I spend most of my days with fleeting thoughts. Writing. Listening. And collecting old Beach cruisers. The morning rides keep me on a hill of silence.

I go months without a phone.

Love, loss, and grief have disturbed my comfort zone, but the glimmers of God speak through my music and family.

While the world around me evolves, I reflect on what matters the most. The life in which my words will land next.

As I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years. The Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood. May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators. As I continue to pursue my life’s calling.

There’s beauty in completion. And always faith in the unknown.

Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts. I’ve prayed for you all.

See you soon enough.

Eminem is rolling back the years to play real-life teen drug dealer White Boy Rick in 50 Cent’s upcoming Black Mafia Family series.

The “In Da Club” rapper, who is executive-producing the series for U.S. network Starz, announced earlier this week the “Slim Shady” star, real name Marshall Bruce Mathers III, is joining the show, about a drug trafficking and money laundering organization based in Detroit, Michigan in the 1980s.

50 shared more details about the casting on Thursday at the Television Critics Association 2021 Winter Press Tour.

“Really, it was (showrunner) Randy (Huggin)’s idea to get Marshall to come out to play White Boy Rick,” he said. “I wasn’t sure I could make it happen.”

Eminem, who is now 50, will be digitally de-aged to play the teenager who turned undercover FBI informant. Snoop Dogg will also star as a shady pastor.

“We used the same technology that Martin Scorsese used in ‘The Irishman’ to get him back to his teenage years as White Boy Rick,” 50, real name Curtis James Jackson III, added.

It will be the first major acting role for the Eminem since 2002’s “8 Mile.”

But fans will have to wait a while – Eminem’s character won’t appear until the seventh episode of the series’ eight-episode first season.

Demetrius Flenory Jr. will make his acting debut as his father, Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory, while Da’Vinchi will play his brother, Terry “Southwest T” Flenory.

A 2018 biopic film, “White Boy Rick,” starred then-17-year-old Richie Merritt as the young drug dealer with Matthew McConaughey as his father.

“Black Mafia Family” debuts on September 26.
