First Week Sales Projections For Lil Nas X’s ‘Montero’ Album Are In

With all of the months-long trolling on social media and at award shows, how much did that viral marketing pay off for Lil Nas X? Well, the sales projections for his Montero album have been calculated.

According to HitsDailyDouble, Lil Nas X’s debut full-length studio LP is on pace to amass 130,000-140,000 first-week units. That range should be enough for LNX to end Drake’s two-week reign atop the album chart.

Montero is the follow-up to 2019’s 7 EP. The new 15-track project includes guest appearances by Megan Thee Stallion, Jack Harlow, Doja Cat, Elton John, and Miley Cyrus.

Lil Nas X’s Montero received nearly universal acclaim from professional music critics. As of press time, the body of work scored 89/100 on Metacritic.

Montero is one of the best-reviewed 2021 albums on the website. It is presently inching out Call Me If You Get Lost by Tyler, The Creator (88/100 Metacritic score).

Comparative 2021 First-Week Numbers

7 was regularly placed in rap categories, but Montero is listed as a Pop album. Moving close to 140,000 units would mean Montero fell behind the 2021 first-week numbers for other high-profile Pop projects like Justin Bieber’s Justice (154,000 units) and Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour (218,000 units).

When it comes to rappers on the Billboard 200 rankings in 2021, Drake is in the lead for first-week sales. The OVO star’s Certified Lover Boy pulled in 613,000 album-equivalent units in its initial seven days of release. 

Additionally, Kanye West’s Donda debuted with 309,000 units. J. Cole’s The Off-Season opened with 282,000 units, and Tyler, The Creator’s Call Me If You Get Lost moved 169,000 first-week units.

Lil Baby & Lil Durk’s The Voice Of The Heroes collected 150,000 first-week units. Polo G’s Hall of Fame brought in 143,000 first-week units. Migos’ Culture III and Rod Wave’s SoulFly both compiled 130,000 first-week units, respectively.

Dru Hill Challenges Jodeci, Boyz II Men, 112 & Jagged Edge To A ‘Verzuz’ Battle

112 and Jagged Edge took part in one of the often overlooked Verzuz events in May 2020. The two Atlanta-bred R&B factions are now one of the acts being called out by another veteran vocal band.

Dru Hill posted a video on social media requesting a chance for a friendly face-off against some of their 1990s-era peers. The Sisqó-led collective even tagged Verzuz organizers Swizz Beatz and Timbaland in the tweet.

“Whoever wants it, can get it, whether it’s Jodeci, Boyz II Men…” said Sisqó in the 56-second clip. He added, “Maybe 112 and Jagged Edge could combine to one group, and then they might have a chance.”

Last year, Swizz Beatz called on So So Def label founder Jermaine Dupri to help set up the 112 vs Jagged Edge matchup. Verzuz also presented group vs group lineups like Earth, Wind & Fire vs The Isley Brothers, SWV vs Xscape, and The Lox vs Dipset.

Dru Hill broke onto the music scene with their 1996 self-titled album. That Island Records release hosted the Top 20 hits “Tell Me,” “In My Bed,” and “Never Make a Promise.”

Two years later, Dru Hill released the 2x-Platinum Enter The Dru which contained the tracks “These Are the Times” and “How Deep Is Your Love” featuring Redman. Enter The Dru is Dru Hill’s highest-charting album. It peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200.

The foursome scored a #1 on the Hot 100 as guest features on Will Smith’s “Wild Wild West” along with Kool Moe Dee. Sisqó eventually went solo and reached the Top 5 again with “Thong Song” and “Incomplete” off the Unleash the Dragon album.

‘Hamilton’ Wins An Emmy Award For Outstanding Variety Special

Lin-Manuel Miranda’s groundbreaking Hip Hop-inspired stage play Hamilton continues to rack up trophies. Disney+’s film version of the Broadway musical won a Primetime Emmy at last night’s ceremony.

Saturday Night Live alumna Amy Poehler presented the award for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) to Hamilton. Renée Elise Goldsberry (Angelica Schuyler) gave the acceptance speech on behalf of the cast and crew.

Hamilton won the honor over Netflix’s Bo Burnham: Inside, HBO’s David Byrne’s American Utopia, Netflix’s 8:46 – Dave Chappelle, HBO Max’s  Friends: The Reunion, and HBO Max’s A West Wing Special to Benefit When We All Vote.

In addition to the Primetime Emmy Awards, the Hamilton motion picture has also won at the People’s Choice Awards, American Film Institute Awards, Critics’ Choice Television Awards, and Producers Guild of America Awards.

The original Hamilton production won 11 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. It also took home a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album. Plus, Lin-Manuel Miranda was awarded a Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

In 2016, Atlantic Records released The Hamilton Mixtape featuring rap acts such as The Roots, Busta Rhymes, Nas, Queen Latifah, Wiz Khalifa, Common, and Chance The Rapper. That project debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Meek Mill Calls Out Karen Civil Again For Allegedly Paying Blogs To Post Negative Stories

It was a really tough weekend for Girl I Guess podcaster Karen Civil. Grammy-nominated artist Joyner Lucas accused Civil of scamming him out of $60,000 when he was still an up-and-coming rapper several years ago.

Then the flood gates opened. During a Clubhouse chat, Joyner Lucas, Hollywood Unlocked blogger Jason Lee, and several other people claimed Karen Civil regularly engaged in underhanded tactics behind the scenes. 

The viral CH conversation reminded some social media users that Meek Mill once alleged Karen Civil paid blogs to post unfavorable stories about him. The digital media marketing strategist was working for Meek’s ex-girlfriend, Nicki Minaj, at the time.

Meek Mill decided to revisit those allegations after Karen Civil was dragged across the internet for supposedly being a con woman. The Dreamchasers frontman sent out two tweets about the subject.

“Karen was my friend and turned on me for [an] opportunity… Start having the blogs posting negative about me on some conspiracy s###. lol. I forgive her but I definitely don’t wanna deal with y’all industry people that move like that! You should admit what you did to me too,” tweeted Meek Mill on Sunday.

He added, “People thought I was high just ranting… I’m not mad at her, she’s a woman, I’m over it… I’ll appreciate if she said something about that tho! We were real friends… I used to give her a lot of exclusive records for her website!”

Karen Civil responded to Meek Mill in a now-deleted tweet. She wrote, “@MeekMill you know damn well I ain’t have no site play you, I literally just supported your album and shown you nothing but cordialness and respect [the] last few years when we see each other.”

When Karen Civil was asked about Meek Mill’s accusations back in 2017, the longtime Hillary Clinton supporter said, “At the end of the day, it’s a business. Websites, blogs, Instagram – all these things are businesses. I’m not going to stop Meek from doing anything or be a part of trying to harm him. Anything people have been posting about him, it’s things that he posted on his own page.”

In addition to the growing scandal involving Joyner Lucas and Meek Mill, Karen Civil was also blasted by Cam’ron. In 2016, the Harlem Hip Hop legend said Civil stole $60,000 from fellow Diplomats member DukeDaGod. Cam also asserted that certain publications refused to run stories about the allegations against Civil because of their close relationship with her.

“Y’all gonna apologize or nah?! I figured y’all wouldn’t 🤷🏾‍♂️For those that don’t understand, I told people [Karen Civil] been robbing people, they said I was lying. Now she just lost a court case to another female, now they say [Karen] is foul. When I said it… I was hating… She also robbed Joyner Lucas for the same exact amount she did my guy @darealdukedagod 60k… What a co-winky-d###,” wrote Cam’ron on Instagram this weekend.

Cardi B’s “WAP” & “Up” Gets Multiple Mentions At The 2021 Emmy Awards

Belcalis “Cardi B” Almánzar did not attend the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday night, but she was on the mind of several people who were present at the televised event.

Throughout the ceremony, celebrities mentioned two of Cardi B’s biggest hits – “Up” and “WAP.” For example, Emmy host Cedric the Entertainer made a link between “Up” and The Crown.

“As great as The Crown is, it pales in comparison to the real monarchy,” said Cedric The Entertainer when discussing Netflix’s historical drama about the British royal family.

He added, “[Prince] Charles, can’t dance. Who else gonna teach them how to TikTok? Baby Archie with the Queen like, ‘Come on Gammy. Once upon a time, I was born the Queen of England. When it’s up, then it’s up, then it’s up and it’s stuck.’”

Anthony Anderson also shouted out Cardi. He appeared with Jimmy Kimmel in a comedy segment about plans for this year’s show to be the “Blackest Emmys Ever.”

The Black-ish star said, “We would’ve had speeches quoting our great poets like Maya Angelou, Langston Hughes, Cardi B. ‘WAP,’ Jimmy. ‘WAP,’ ‘WAP.’ ‘WAP.’”

While presenting the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, Seth Rogan also referred to Cardi B’s chart-topping single featuring Megan Thee Stallion. The Pineapple Express actor informed the world that his mother is a fan of the sex-positive collaboration.

“That was wild. That was truly insane. I was not expecting that. It’s like when I was listening to music with my mom and she knew all the words to ‘WAP,’” Seth Rogan told the audience.

“WAP” spent four weeks at #1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart in 2020. “Up” peaked in the pole position earlier this year. Cardi B currently has five Number Ones, the most for any female rapper in Hot 100 history.

Wack 100 Tells Kim Kardashian’s Lawyer He Has Receipts in Sex Tape Claim

Last week, Ray J’s manager made headlines claiming he had an unreleased sex tape of his client and Kim Kardashian.  

Wack 100 is well known in the Hip-Hop community and manages some of the industry’s most well-known rappers. As well as Ray J, his roster includes the likes of Game and Blueface.  

The claims Wack made last week in an interview with Bootleg Kev has since been refuted by Kim’s lawyers. In the interview, Wack sent a message to Kim’s estranged husband, Kanye West.  

“All I know is Kanye, holler at me, bro. We got part 2 on the laptop. It ain’t never been seen. We love for you to have it. It would be a great personal private NFT,” Wack 100 said. “It’s more graphic and better than the first one.”

Reps for Kim Kardashian deny the existence of such a tape. Kim’s lawyer Marty Singer said in a statement to TMZ: “The claim that there is an unreleased sex tape is unequivocally false. It is unfortunate that people make these statements to try and get their 15 minutes of fame.” 

Although Wack 100 denies wanting to sell the tape he did initially say he would sell it to Kanye or give it to him or Ray J. He must have had a change of heart however as in another video he says “Some of y’all gotta stop taking podcast interviews and some s### serious, man,” he says. “You know g####### well we wouldn’t try to sell Kanye West no muthafuckin’ sex tape or none of that s###. Stop swallowing every g####### thing that’s in front of you.”

He also didn’t take too kindly to Kim’s lawyer’s “15 minutes of fame” comments and is now threatening to produce receipts to back up his claim.  

 “A message to @kimkardashian attorneys,” he wrote on his Instagram Story. “Ask your client about ‘Santa Barbara’ and the signed deliverables for tape 1, 2 & 3 @rayj can’t control what I NOW control. If I hear 15 minutes of fame again I’ll be forced to display the signed CONTRACTS. #TRYME.”

Ray J didn’t appreciate being dragged into the drama at all. “This ain’t cool,” he wrote via Instagram on Sunday (September 19). “I been staying off the Raydar – Just staying focused and being humble and thankful for all the blessings I’m receiving. How can I show off growth and maturity if this kinda of stuff keeps happening? 

“I’m a father now and my job is to be a great parent and put them first. This is not the message I want to send out – smh.”

Talks of a Fugees Reunion Resurface

The word on the street is that The Fugees could finally be setting their differences and making a comeback! 

Sources reveal that despite a 15-year feud following a split at the end of their last tour in 2006 the band might finally be prepared to set their differences aside.  

Speaking in 2007 group member Pras said: “You will have a better chance of seeing Osama Bin Laden and (George W.) Bush in Starbucks having a latte, discussing foreign policies before there will be a Fugees reunion.” 

However, Pras may have spoken a little too hastily as rumor has it that he and fellow Fugees members Lauryn Hill and Wyclef Jean are in negotiations to return to mark the 25th anniversary of the last album they made together, “The Score.” Released in 1996 “The Score” became a classic and produced hits including “Fu-Gee-La,” “Killing Me Softly” and “Ready or Not.” 

Simon Boyle reports in his “Bizarre” column for “The Sun” that insiders revealed “It is the reunion which nobody ever believed would happen but it looks like Fugees will finally reunite.  

“Lauryn, Pras, and Wyclef are still discussing what exactly they will do but they have managed to talk through everything which happened last time and feel like the time is right to return.  

“There are loads of ideas being thrown around, including a tour, a movie, and maybe even new music — it could be their first album in 25 years. There is a lot of buzz and they all want to make it happen.” 

Last month talk of a Fugees reunion resurfaced once again with a flyer doing the rounds advertising a “Verzuz” battle between The Fugees and The Roots.

The purported date of the event on the flyer is Monday, November 29, leaving plenty of time for the group to get some promo in if it is in fact going ahead. If it is in fact “real life” then could this be the clash to top the epic battle between The Lox and Dipset? It remains to be seen…

Drake’s “CLB” Tops “Billboard 200” For Second Consecutive Week

Unsurprisingly, Drake’s latest studio album, “Certified Lover Boy” has landed the top spot on the Billboard 200 for a second consecutive week earning 236,000 equivalent album units this week. According to “Billboard”, the number is made up of 227,000 streaming equivalent album units thanks to 305.43 million on-demand streams of the album’s 21 tracks. The album also scored 6,500 pure album sales in week two.  

Drake’s highly-anticipated “Certified Lover Boy” has already been racking up the accolades and includes features from heavy-hitters Jay-Z, Travis Scott, Future, Young Thug, Kid Cudi, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, 21 Savage, Ty Dolla Sign. 

Kanye West’s “DONDA” remains at No. 2 in the “Billboard” chart moving 79,000 equivalent album units this past week.  

Earlier this week Benny The Butcher revealed why he was not on Drake’s “CLB” or “DONDA” even though fellow Griselda Records members Conway The Machine and Westside Gunn feature on the track ‘Keep My Spirit Alive’. 

The “Plugs I Met” rapper disclosed that he was at the house with West and “heard some beats but then I shot back to Atlanta. I had things I had to do.”  

Speaking bluntly, he said “I don’t think Ye wanted me on there. I don’t care about it but it’s cool. I got all types of rapper homeboys that’s friends, that’s dope, that’s legends. Every time they’re dropping an album, I’m not asking why I’m not on that stuff.”  

“He got what he was looking for and I think the song sounded perfect. It ain’t need me on there.” 

“Drake is Drake. He’s the biggest artist in the world, so ain’t no tellin’ where that song gon’ land,” Benny said during a Twitch interview with “Connected”. “We got the song, I played it for all the homies. It’s a vibe and he gotta place that where he sees fit to it. 

“I feel like it definitely would have fit in and definitely would have mixed things up, but I also see why he didn’t put it on there,” he added.

Kodak Black Recognized for $20K Donation & Speaks on Loss of “Very Close Friend”

Kodak Black was awarded a certificate of recognition from the City of Margate for his $20,000 donation to the child of 27-year-old Fort Lauderdale officer, Jennifer Sepot who died from complications related to COVID-19.  

The announcement that the $20k donation will go toward the child’s college fund was made at a ceremony marking the grand opening of the city’s new sporting complex.  

“Some of you may know him as a celebrity, but this is an act of charity,” said board member Arlene R. Schwartz.   

“On behalf of the city, I have a certificate of recognition to Kodak Black as a thank you for the wonderful action you took to help a child who’s just lost a parent have a college fund and a secure future,” she said. 

TMZ reported that the Florida rapper wanted to give back to his community after battling COVID-19 himself. City officials say Kodak also donated money to the children of two FBI agents who were killed in Sunrise.  

Expressing his humanity Kodak said, “You know at the end of the day, we’re all we got. This ain’t nothing to do with politics, or white, Black, rich or poor. It’s up to us to help each other in the best way we can.” 

Revealing that the officer’s passing hit close to home he said “The stuff with Jennifer, it touched me ‘cause my beautiful girlfriend, she’s expecting my daughter soon.” 

Kodak Black then appeared to speak on the death of good friend WizDaWizard, although he did not mention him by name. “I just lost a friend. A very close friend for, like – we’ve been friends for like over 10 years. I just lost him yesterday and he has a beautiful baby girl, too,” he said. “It’s crazy dealin’ with losin’ loved ones and stuff like that. It’s hard. I’ve been dealing with losses my whole life.”    

WizDaWizard, who was signed to Kodak Black’s Sniper Gang imprint, was killed in Florida on Friday (September 17).

Cedric the Entertainer Opens the 2021 Emmy’s With Biz Markie Tribute & Nicki Minaj Shade

Stars including LL COOL J, Lil Dickey, Mandy Moore, Tom Hanks’s wife Rita Wilson joined Cedric the Entertainer for the tribute to the legendary rapper.  

The 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards went down in Los Angeles on Sunday night (September 19,) opened by Cedric the Entertainer. And in an unexpected tribute to the late great Biz Markie, he recruited a number of the show’s nominees and other stars to join him in an all-star rendition of the late rapper’s#### song “Just a Friend.” 

Included in the ensemble alongside Cedric were LL COOL J, Lil Dickey, Mandy Moore, Brendan Hunt, and Tom Hanks’s wife Rita Wilson who put their spin on the original lyrics. 

Rita Wilson’s rapping cameo was the most talked about with journalist Chirs Wetherspoon saying she “deservingly broke the internet.”  

Perhaps that’s where Chet Hanks, recently signed to Soulja Boy’s (LABEL) the son Rita Wilson shares with Tom Hanks, gets his rapping skills from. 

Legendary rapper Biz Markie, beatboxer, DJ, actor, comedian, and television personality tragically died from complications from Type II Diabetes in July this year aged 57 years old.   

Cedric the Entertainer also used his time on the platform to take a shot at Nicki Minaj. He reportedly joked about being vaccinated saying, “I got vaxxed. I did not have a reaction like Nicki Minaj’s cousin’s friend.”  

He continued, I got Pfizer, you know what I’m saying? Because I’m bougie. That’s the Neiman Marcus of vaccines. I got Pfizer, you know what I’m saying? Because I’m bougie. That’s the Neiman Marcus of vaccines.” 

The shade comes of course in response to Nicki Minaj’s comments regarding the COVID-19 vaccine. Nicki announced that she would not be attending the 2021 “Met Gala” due to the vaccination requirement and then went on to give a bizarre anecdote about her cousin’s friend in Trinidad who she says ended up with swollen testicles after having the vaccine, leading him to cancel his upcoming wedding. Any possible link between the vaccine and swollen testicles was thoroughly debunked by everyone from Dr. Fauci to Trinidad and Tobago Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh.  

Seth Rogan also had some shots of his own, but for the awards show’s organizers saying, “There is way too many of us in this little room.” Watch the speech that had him trending on Twitter below.

Ghostface Killah Helping To Build A Community Center On Staten Island

Wu-Tang Clan member Ghostface Killah is giving back to Staten Island by lending some star power to a community fundraising effort.

Ghostface Killah is teaming up with an organization called the K. Woods Foundation, in an effort to build a new community center in Park Hill.

The rapper is hosting a formal dinner at the swanky restaurant LiGreci’s Staaten to raise money for the community center.

The K Woods Foundation Will use the proceeds to build basketball courts, gardens and play areas for the children who live in the Park Hill Houses.

During an interview with SILive, Kareem “Kay” Woods said the aim was to help a new generation of children.

“We’re making sure we can help lead these new generations, from the young men and women just barely starting off as parents to more seasoned parents looking for more structure and stability,” Woods explained.

The First Annual K Woods Foundation community center fundraiser wand auction will take place on September 30th, at 7:00 p.m.

The Kid Laroi Sells Out North American Tour In Under 4 Minutes

Australian rapper/singer The Kid Laroi is arguably the hottest artist in the industry right now.

In August, The Kid Laroi landed his first number one album in the U.S. with his album F### Love one year after it was released.

Just a week later, his song ‘Stay” featuring Justin Bieber skyrocketed to the number one spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.

Now, The Kid Laroi is celebrating another victory. His upcoming North American tour sold out in less than four minutes. In total, the End Of The World Tour sold a whopping 35,000 tickets in just 24 hours.

“I am beyond excited to share this experience with you all,” The Kid Laroi said. “It’s always been a dream of mine to headline a global tour. I cannot wait to see my fans all around the world and give them something that they won’t ever forget. It’s been a long time coming.”

The Kid Laroi’s End Of The World Tour kicks off on January 29, 2022 in Phoenix, Arizona.

The tour will stop in major markets like Los Angeles, Houston, Detroit, New York, Philadelphia, and Miami, before winding down in Atlanta Georgia on March 10th.

The international leg of the tour starts on March 28, 2022 in Copenhagen, and ends June 11th in Auckland, Australia.

Chris Rock Tests Positive For COVID-19: ‘Trust Me, You Don’t Want This’

Chris Rock has tested positive for COVID-19.

In a tweet posted earlier today, the veteran comedian announced his diagnosis.

“Hey guys I just found out I have COVID,” he wrote. “Trust me you don’t want this. Get vaccinated.”

Chris Rock previously said that he was already vaccinated against COVID-19. However, according to CNN, Rock’s diagnosis is considered a “breakthrough” case.

“People who are fully vaccinated can still get Covid-19 — these are called breakthrough cases — but being immunized greatly reduces the risk of hospitalization or death, health experts say,” they said. “In fact, people who are not vaccinated against Covid-19 were 11 times more likely to die of the disease and 10 times more likely to be hospitalized with the disease, a study published earlier this month by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows.”

Chris Rock also said that he took the Johnson & Johnson vaccine — which isn’t as effective as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines. However, he also said that he used his celebrity status to “cut the line” and get the vaccine before everyone else.

We sincerely hope that Chris gets well soon — and that his case of COVID is a mild one that requires little, if any, downtime for him.

Where is Carlos Foley? The real question is where have these two artists been hiding? Albert J and Slim Chance seem to have come out of nowhere with a project that is easily competing with the big dogs. Every aspect of Where is Carlos Foley seems to be a bullseye. The production is strong and is guaranteed to keep the listener’s attention, the wordplay and bars are next level and then the concept of the project is mind-blowing.

They take us on a journey through the dark world of supplying, consuming, and the addiction of drugs. But they do it with such creativity. No preaching or generic lines like drugs are bad kids, just raw storytelling that everyone can relate with. Don’t get it twisted this is far from a dark heavy-hearted project, it’s balanced well with their melodic approach on some very colorful palettes. These two artists have joined forces to paint a masterpiece of art. This could honestly be the hip-hop album of the year! Hats off to Slim Chance and Albert J for keeping the art of rap alive, their future looks extremely bright.

Wendy Williams Stable After Hospitalization For Psychiatric Evaluation

Wendy Williams is reportedly recovering, after she was rushed to the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.

The 57-year-old host was voluntarily admitted to a hospital in New York last Tuesday (September 14th) for psychiatric issues.

Wendy also recently tested positive for a “breakthrough case” of COVID-19 so doctors are said to be keeping a close eye on her physical health as well.

According to Wendy’s brother Tommy, the legendary talk show host is still recovering.

Tommy gave an update on his YouTube channel in a post titled “WENDY WILLIAMS… WE’RE HERE ROOTING FOR YOU CHAMP !!!!!”

“I really do believe and have the faith that Wendy’s going to make it,” Tommy shared. We’ve been hit just like other families. You know it’s not easy you got to dig yourself out, you got to hold on to the memories and we have some good ones.

She’s doing well. Stable. I’ve spoken with her And we’re hanging in there. She’s hanging in there. We’re praying. She’s fighting.”

A source said Wendy Williams is currently “asymptomatic”.meaning she is showing no symptoms of COVID.

It’s unclear at this stage when the presenter will be discharged from hospital, but Wendy’s mental health “continues to improve each day.”

Due to Williams’ health issues, the premiere of the new season of “The Wendy Williams Show” has been pushed from September 20 to October 4.

The openly gay rapper is celebrating Sexual Health Month by promoting safe sex to his tens of millions of followers for Sexual Health Month.

One scene of his latest video “That’s What I Want,” features him dressed as a football player who suffers an injury on the field.

When Lil Nas X heads to the locker rooms to ice his injury, he ends up in a heated romp with another football player.

Lil Nas X and his love interest lock lips in the locker room during the sexually charged video, which ends with them making love in a steamy shower scene.

The rapper took the time to offer up a positive message as his debut album Montero album races up the charts.

“I’m protecting myself and everything that’s beautiful about me. let’s celebrate by recognizing Sexual Health Month and wellness for everyone, whatever their gender/sexual identity and expression,” Lil Nas X said.

The rapper “gave birth to” his debut album Montero on Friday (September 17). The album is expected to move 140,000 copies during its first week out.

EXCLUSIVE: R. Kelly Angles To Have Bribery Charges Dismissed

R. Kelly and his legal team are hoping to have one of the major charges filed against him dismissed before jury deliberations begin.

The singer is accused of racketeering, comprised of 14 underlying acts which could send him to prison for hundreds of years.

Prosecutors claim R. Kelly oversaw an enterprise that engaged in several illegal activities.

The singer is accused of kidnapping, sex trafficking, violating The Mann Act, and bribery, after his tour manager admitted to bribing a government worker in 1994 to obtain a fake ID for Aaliyah.

During his trial, his tour manager Demetrius Smith testified that R. Kelly married the 15-year-old to protect himself, after learning the late singer was pregnant with his child.

A 1994 marriage certificate presented during the trial listed R. Kelly’s age as 27, while Aaliyah’s age was falsely listed as 18.

New court filings reveal that R. Kelly is hoping to have the bribery charges dismissed entirely. R. Kelly’s lawyers told a judge that the Illinois statute regarding bribery states the following:

“The person charged pursuant to the statute has to either promise or tender property to another person with the intent to cause the other person to influence the performance of official act.”

R. Kelly Wants Bribery Charge Dismissed

The singer’s lawyer insists that Demetrius Smith acted by himself and on his own accord, when he bribed the government official to get Aaliyah’s fake ID so R. Kelly could marry the underaged teen.

According to Smith’s testimony, R. Kelly “was not present when he [Smith] discussed anything about money; and that he received the money from another person not Mr Kelly.”

His lawyers maintain the statute clearly states that R. Kelly would have had to “tender property directly to the person bribed or tender property to the third person with the intent to cause the third person to influence the official act.”

R. Kelly’s defense team believes the count related to bribery should be dismissed.
