Dr. Dre claims his wife is still stealing money from him. This time, the producer says Nicole Young stole from his recording studio business.
The superstar producer filed new paperwork in court claiming Nicole targeted his Recording One studio, which is located in Sherman Oaks, California.
Dre says Nicole did have the authority to write checks and transfer money in and out of Recording One. But she didn’t have the right to withdraw over $350,000 from the account which “decimated” the account, according to Dre.
Dr. Dre accused his wife of embezzling and stealing money from Recording One and using the loot for her “personal obligations” in breach of her fiduciary duties.
Nicole, who allegedly stole the money while they were married, was barred from having anything to do with the business.
According to reports, Nicole returned the money, but Dre is still going after her for the theft.
And Nicole should not have any issues paying the money back.
Dr. Dre claims Nicole signed an ironclad prenup agreement when they were married in 1996.
Nicole maintains that she signed the agreement under duress and that Dre ripped up the agreement because he was “ashamed.”
“Andre acknowledged to me that he felt ashamed he had pressured me into signing a premarital agreement and he tore up multiple copies of the agreement in front of me. Since the day he tore up the agreements, we both understood that there was no premarital agreement and that it was null and void.”
However, Dre’s lawyer Laura Wasser presented the document in court and said Nicole signed the agreement voluntarily.
Lil Nas X posted some weird pictures of himself on social media pretending as if he’s expecting a baby.
Lil Nas X added the flicks on Twitter yesterday (September 2) to commemorate his forthcoming album, Montero. The rapper came up with the concept after his stylist labeled his debut album his “baby.”
In the picture, Lil Nas X rocks a flowing, white robe, while his head is adorned with a flower crown with a bouquet of white roses. He lovingly cradles his pregnant belly in the hilarious picture.
SURPRISE! I can’t believe i’m finally announcing this. My little bundle of joy “MONTERO” is due September 17, 2021 🦋💕🥲 pic.twitter.com/dry8lAhpPr
“SURPRISE! I can’t believe i’m finally announcing this. My little bundle of joy ‘MONTERO’ is due September 17, 2021,” Lil Nas X said.
Lil Nas X elaborated on the photoshoot, which was inspired by a line Megan Thee Stallion dropped on the song “Dolla Sign Slime,” which is one of the tracks on Montero.
Meg says “B**ch I do not do labor” on a leaked version of the song.
“I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is amazing,’ so I immediately called my stylist,” Lil Nas X giggled to People magazine. “She was like, ‘Wow, this all comes together. Your album. Your baby.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, this is my baby, huh?’ As a joke, she was like, ‘Yeah, you should do a pregnancy shoot.’ I was like, ‘You know what? That’s actually brilliant.'”
The photos drew an instant reaction on Twitter, where users had both positive and negative reactions.
Dan Folger, normally known for plugging people in the music industry with jewelry, recently diversified his personal brand by dropping music on all streaming platforms.
The artist channels his energy on “Cold Heart”. Lasting just over 3 minutes in run time, “Cold Heart” offers a soft, yet emotional instrumental. The track features a series of interesting musical components that all come together to deliver one unique overall vibe.
“Cold Heart” marks the third track Folger has dropped so far this year.
After dropping his new Certified Lover Boy album, Drake called Kanye West “jealous.”
In lyrics from his song “7AM on Bridle Path,” the Champagne Papi blasted the man that has emerged as his musical rival for posting the address to his Toronto home.
He rapped, “Give that address to your driver, make it your destination / ’Stead of just a post out of desperation.”
In addition to that slight jab, he also noted that Kanye was busy checking for him and what he was doing, instead of worrying about making his project, the belabored and highly-anticipated Donda album, great.
Drake dropped in the song, “This me reachin’ the deepest state of my meditation, While you over there tryna impress the nation. Mind’s running’ wild with the speculation.”
Later he said, “Told you I’m aimin’ straight for the head, not aiming to please/ I could give a f### about who designing your sneakers and tees/ Have somebody put you on a Gildan, you play with my seed/ Trust me, there’s some s### you really gotta come see to believe.”
This is a direct reference to Kanye’s lucrative Yeezy collaboration with Adidas. Ironically, Drake has just dropped the design to his own lucrative deal with Nike.
Drizzy also called the “Jesus Walks” rapper “jealous,” stating that he used the media and their personal beef to gain attention.
“That’s why you buyin’ into the hype that the press feedin’ ya/You know the fourth level of jealousy is called media/ Isn’t that an ironic revelation?”
He also broke down how disingenuous for Kanye to act like he wanted to make peace, when all of his actions was to cause chaos.
“Why the f### we peacemakin’, doin’ the explanations/ If we just gon’ be right back in that b#### without hesitation? But let me digress on behalf of the association/ I’ll play it cool with you, then mark a n#### like Copenhagen.”
Bu Thiam said that they really did want peace, but if Drake dissed Kanye on his album, all bets are off.
The NBA superstar is stuck in the middle of his parents’ divorce, and now, there’s some speculation that Dell Curry — his beloved father — may not really be his father.
And according to this anonymous source, it’s all going to come out in the gossip rags in the coming days.
“Shocking allegations are about to hit the public from various tabloids. Alleged stinky rumors of long-standing infidelities which will vindicate Dell Curry in the divorce saga that has shocked the sports world,” said an anonymous source. “So-called close friends of Ms. Curry, allege Steph Curry, conceived prior to the marriage, is not really Dell’s child and Dell was the best financial prospect in her stable of men at the time. These “friends” promote sweaty thigh unfounded gossip that Ms. Curry’s body count includes males and females over the course of her three-decade marriage to former NBA player Dell Curry?!!? You don’t see Dell at all when you look at Steph Curry like you see him in Seth and Sydel. Stephen is a blend of Sonya and someone else allegedly according to confidential sources.”
This seems like a bit of a stretch, to be honest. And anybody can really say anything they want on the Internet. But what do you think of this bit of news? You be the judge.

I recently had the joy and privilege of visiting Forest Hills, Queens. I was headed to the last leg of the Universal Hip-Hop Museum Homecoming concert series featuring the impeccable talents of Mobb Deep, EPMD, DMC, Dres of Black Sheep (who lives in the area), Too Short, Yo-Yo- Sweet Tee, and an assortment of other legends. The whole event was capped off by a 2-hour performance of George Clinton and his P-Funk All-Stars. It was an amazing affair. I could not get over how clean, and nice this particular area of Queens was. Without knowing, it reminded me of places hostile to people of color with high property taxes, out-of-this-world real estate prices, and the quiet killer racism. But, that was not my experience as we were treated respectfully and there was somebody ever 10-20 feet making sure we did not stray from the path to the concert and fro..back to where we came from. It was all love on the surface.
Forest Hills, Queens gave birth to rapper-turned-actor Awkwafina even if Nora Lum, her government name, was born somewhere in Long Island. Awkwafina came to prominence in the early 2010s, as a rapper that was quickly able to leverage her unique traits, comedy, and freedom from Hip-Hop’s cultural norms. She didn’t have to “keep it real” and honestly, don’t think anybody cared if she did/didn’t. But she did represent her brand of New York unabashedly and without shame on songs like “NYC Bitche$.” As a rapper, she never gave a hint that she would make her comedic bones in Hollywood as an actor that employs a “blaccent.” Wiktionary calls this Blackaccent as one “that is “characteristic of African-Americans.”It is a form of cultural appropriation.
As Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings hits theaters, the controversy swirls – once again – around another comic character -Awkwafina! First of all, Shang-Chi is so beloved to us comic nerds that I once crudely drew him in my youth. Yes, I have the receipts! So, I am concerned for the movie, because nothing degrading to Black people can exist within the MCU (Marvel Comics Universe). Stan Lee wouldn’t have it. And yet, here we are. Shang-Chi, the first Marvel movie starring an Asian, is partially marred by one of the actors’ penchant for mocking Black people. But, honestly and respectfully, there is nothing I can see that suggests that Awkwafina was ever Black-Adjacent or even “Hip-Hop.” Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems like she just used rap to get ahead.
Black people and Asian people have a very unique relationship, historically and culturally. There are numerous parallels and intersections. There are so many, that I will not try to run them all down. But, I feel that Hip-Hop has been very respectful, by and large of Asians in the culture. Wu-Tang, as a movement, is largely rooted in Asian imagery, principles, and lifestyles. Folks like The RZA uplifted the culture even as Ice Cube wrote polarizing songs like “Black Korea.” Awkwafina, who is has a Chinese father and Korean mother, is no Sophia Chang, who used to manage the likes of Ol Dirty Bastard. She’s not like my Aquarian brother Bobby Yan or Aiko Tanaka, whom both have deep, respectful roots in African American culture. Hell, me and hardcore street rapper China Mac respectfully discussed his use of “the N-Word” in his rap songs. Respect slices in many directions.
Violence reared its despicable head last year, amid the ignorance and confusion around Covid-19, and we witnessed horrific acts of violence perpetrated against Asians. This spawned #StopAsianHate. Black people were often the media’s face of the heinous acts splashed across the various screens we watch. Then-President Donald J. Trump repeatedly, maliciously, and irresponsibly called it the “China Virus.” The accusations flew back and forth and Black and Asian communities clashed once again. To make matters worse (I’ll explain shortly) and better, Asian Americans saw both chambers of Congress and President Biden quickly passed the COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act into law. “My message to all of those who are hurting (Asian Americans) is: We see you and the Congress has said, we see you. And we are committed to stopping the hatred and the bias,” President Biden said.
I know you are thinking, “What does all of this overly thoughtful pontification have to do with an Asian American rapper-turned-comedian-turned superstar actor?” Bring it home, Chuck, connect the damn dots.
Awkwafina, you are hurting Black people. Awkwafina, you are offending Black people (at least the ones that know of you). Awkwafina, you are using Black people. I think you have an idea why folks feel so strongly about this.
“I refuse to do accents. I’m not OK with someone writing the Asian experience for an Asian character. I make it very clear, I don’t ever go out for auditions where I feel like I’m making a minstrel out of our people,” you reportedly told VICE. The George Floyd Justice in Policing Act is stuck in the political mud as a host of other pressing issues have taken precedence. Black folks: used and abused all over again.
I don’t know if you employ a “blaccent” in this movie since I have not seen it as if this writing. I suspect you won’t be so blatantly “ghetto” even though one review described you as a “street-smart hustler” and another, a “street-savvy sidekick.” The social media outrage has been pretty loud for years, but the conversation reignited over the refusal to feed stereotypical Asian accents. Why don’t you say something, even if you all have nixed the so-called African American intonation? I talk to my Asian friends in productive ways and the dialogue is beneficial to us all. I seek to understand and to be understood, mutually respected. To my knowledge, you’ve ever addressed the community or culture that breathed life into your now spectacular career. And this writing is not out of hate or in the spirit of cancel culture. I am only writing because I listened and heard – over and over – the cries of the people that simply want the minstrel you have perpetrated to stop. Maybe you’re just a tool of higher forces, but it is still your body of work that ultimately will bear a stain.
Like, why’d you go and use the word “minstrel,” when that term is a decidedly racist-descriptive word that specifically refers to white actors in blackface? The term quite literally has no relationship, historical or otherwise, to Asian culture. This does not suggest that American culture has not been racist or sold horribly bigoted images of Asians. You may not be white and you may not wear blackface, but you’ve closely resembled those actors peddling stereotypes forward with little regard for the ongoing harm it causes. Your shtick isn’t from kicking it with the whole 2% Black population of Forest Hills, Queens, is it? Or did you travel to Queensbridge, Hollis, or Lefrak to pick up the streetwise slanguage? So many questions.
Next time there is an amazing Hip-Hop event in your “hood” like the Universal Hip-Hop Museum’s concert, pull up. Our culture is incredibly inclusive and forgiving. As “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” goes in the book of Marvel history, similar to “Black Panther,” envision an African American character “acting stereotypically Asian” for comedic effect. Ew…I am disgusted already.
Be well, Awkwafina, but show a modicumof respect while you do it.
awkwafina is so strange for saying this. In one instance you don’t want Asian ppl do be stereotyped in film which is great but then you go on make a mockery of what you depict a blaccent despite having a normal speaking voice? It just doesn’t add up https://t.co/I5tAZh65OG
I’m glad people are finally calling this out. Awkwafina has never had to answer for using a blaccent to blow up and then it disappeared somehow overnight once she made a lil money. And then to have the nerve to say what she said below? F### off https://t.co/Ip1GvIZblo
Boosie has opinions about Lil Nas X‘s pregnancy shoot, and they’re exactly what you’d expect they are.
In a tweet posted yesterday, the “Wipe Me Down” rapper feels that this is only the beginning of the “Montero” rapper’s “reign of terror,” and it’s time to hide your wife, hide your kids…you know the rest.
NAS X WTF U JUST DONT STOP 😡I THINK HES GOING TO TURN AROUND N SUCK ONE OF HIS BACK GROUND DANCERS DICK ON NATIONAL TV #protectyours#godturninoverinhisgrave
Not that anyone expected Boosie to issue a Harvard Business School-worthy dissertation, but his tweet raises a few questions.
First of all, “God is turning over in his grave”? Is God dead, Torrence? Maybe you meant Jesus — no, wait, he came back after three days. Which God is in his grave, Boosie? Were you watching Avengers: Infinity War and mourning the death of Thor? (Not that I blame you if that’s the case. I mean, have you seen Chris Hemsworth’s luscious locks?)
Second, “protect yours”? From what, sir? Little boys and girls have been sticking basketballs under their shirts pretending to be pregnant since time immemorial. Are you suggesting we protect “ours” from the threat of basketballs? Or maybe you’re suggesting we “protect ours” from men who hire sex workers to sexually assault our underage boys? Nah, you couldn’t be saying that, could you?
Soulja Boy’s Twitter feed over the last seven days has been consumed with attacking Kanye West. The outspoken recording artist was apparently upset about being left off of West’s Donda album.
Things may have gone too far when Soulja Boy brought Kanye West’s estranged wife into the conflict. The 31-year-old “Crank That” hitmaker tweeted, “I was the first rapper [with] @KimKardashian not [you] 😉 @kanyewest 😂.”
Soulja Boy’s targeted trolling of Kanye West appears to have also been a promotional tactic. On Friday morning, Soulja released his latest 14-track music project Swag 4.
One of the Swag 4 songs is titled “Shawn Carter,” the real name of billionaire Hip Hop legend Jay-Z. On the record, Soulja Boy namedrops Jay-associated locations and companies such as Marcy Projects, Roc-A-Fella Records, and Roc Nation.
The SODMG leader previously let loose full-length studio LPs like 2007’s Souljaboytellem.com, 2010’s The DeAndre Way, 2015’s Loyalty, and 2021’s Big Draco. Soulja Boy has also dropped dozens of mixtapes.
Souljaboytellem.com is the only Soulja Boy album to land in the Top 5 of the Billboard 200 rankings when it peaked at #4. Three of his projects – souljaboytellem.com, iSouljaBoyTellem, and The DeAndre Way – made it into the Top 10 of Billboard’s Top Rap Album chart.
After months of delays, Certified Lover Boy finally arrived today (September 3). Drake’s sixth studio LP includes features by Jay-Z, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, Travis Scott, Future, Young Thug, 21 Savage, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, and more.
The highly-anticipated album instantly dominated social media conversations. Plus, Certified Lover Boy quickly climbed to #1 on the iTunes all-genre chart, surpassing Kanye West’s recently released Donda.
Drake and his fans celebrated the delivery of Certified Lover Boy on DSPs. The OVO Sound frontman also used the body of work to pay tribute to deceased Instagram influencers Nadia Ntuli and Jenae “Miss Mercedes Morr” Gagnier.
“A combination of toxic masculinity and acceptance of truth which is inevitably heartbreaking. Executive produced by me, Noah “40” Shebib, Oliver El-Khatib, and Noel Cadastre. Dedicated to Nadia Ntuli and Mercedes Morr. RIP 💖,” reads an Apple Music description for Certified Lover Boy written by Drake.
Nadia Ntuli, who was said to be a close friend of Drake, reportedly died in a motor vehicle accident earlier this year. Very few details about her death were made public. Apparent associates of Nadia Ntuli, like Tanzanian activist Mange Kimambi, shared their condolences on social media.
Mercedes Morr was allegedly killed in a murder-suicide on August 29. She was found dead in her Texas apartment. The Richmond Police Department identified the suspect as 34-year-old Kevin Accorto. A medical examiner determined Accorto stabbed himself to death.
Fellow Hip Hop superstar Cardi B also spoke out about the death of Mercedes Morr. According to TMZ, Morr’s family was grateful the Invasion of Privacy album creator brought awareness to the 33-year-old woman’s tragic passing.
“So sad and f### you b###### and nikkas trying to justify it cause of her lifestyle. Ya will hate on a bad b#### dead or alive. She was a sweetheart,” wrote Cardi B on an Instagram Story about Mercedes Morr.
Rapper Drake’s new album Certified Lover Boy dropped early morning on Friday (September 3) and it appears that the Canadian hitmaker has boldly included R. Kelly as a co-lyricist on one of his songs.
The song that the disgraced R&B singer appears to have co-written is “TSU.”
Also included as contributors to the song are Justin Timberlake, C. Cross, and F. Hills.
The sample used seems to be a chopped-and-screwed version of “Your Body’s Calling” from Kelly’s 12 Play album.
Fans are wondering if the inclusion of the accused pedophile is an act of support or a wise decision.
At the moment, the 54-year-old is the center of a federal trial in New York City, facing charges of racketeering “predicated on criminal conduct including sexual exploitation of children, kidnapping, forced labor, and Mann Act violations involving the coercion and transportation of women and girls in interstate commerce to engage in illegal sexual activity.”
During the trial, which is already 11 days in, the jury has met several women (and one man) who have testified that not only did the “Bump N’ Grind” singer initiate sexual relationships with them when they were teens, but also gave them genital herpes.
One woman, who is referred to as Faith, says that not only did he transmit the incurable disease to her, but did not tell her. She only realized she had it when she saw sores in her mouth and on her v##### afterward.
As reported by AllHipHop.com, Kelly, when he was 27, also illegally married his protégé, Aaliyah Haughton, when she was 15.
The officiant of that 1994 ceremony also took the stand, saying that the singer’s team offered him $25 to $50 to perform the nuptial. The marriage was annulled, and sadly the starlet died six years later.
Drake has gone on record declaring his love for the deceased singer.
In 2009, he referenced her songs in his verse on “Bedrock.” In 2010, he used a sample of “Are You That Somebody” on his song “Unforgettable” on his Thank Me Later album.
On the anniversary of her death in 2010, he wrote a letter in Rap Radar to the “One in A Million” singer, using her middle name. In it, he expressed how deeply her death impacted him.
And in 2011, in addition to getting a tattooed portrait of Aaliyah on his back, he shouted her out on the first verse of his song “Take Care.”
That same year, he got in commemoration of the tenth year of her demise, an ear monitor with her picture on it.
RIP Baby Girl…in my ear at every show letting me know the next move I should make. Love you.
“People are defending this R. Kelly credit, talking about “it’s a sample”… okay?????? So Drake chose to sample his work, knowing he’d have to clear it with R. Kelly, and that Kelly would get a check/royalties. He could’ve done away with the sample/track, he clearly doesn’t care.”
Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt is trying his hand at making music. Today (September 3), Bolt dropped his debut album Country Yutes through his label A-Team Lifestyle Records/UnitedMasters.
The 35-year-old athlete-turned-musician connected with Nugent “NJ” Walker for the project. Country Yutes was named in honor of Bolt and NJ’s rural upbringing in Jamaica.
“If you have followed my career over the years, you would see me always dancing and listening to music,” states Usain Bolt. “It’s no secret to the world that I love music. Music has just always been a part of my DNA.”
Usain Bolt x Nugent “NJ” Walker
Nugent “NJ” Walker and Usain Bolt have known each other since childhood. Besides being close friends for most of their lives, they also have a long-term business relationship.
“Even before I managed him, we were best friends. He shared his troubles with me. Imagine winning at 15. And that transition period between 17-21 was plagued by lots of injuries; there was lots of pressure on him from the Jamaican crowd who were booing him – it was hard for him,” Walker told Sky Sports in 2016.
Usain Bolt is an eight-time Olympic gold medallist. The retired Track and Field legend is the world record holder for the 100 meters, 200 meters, and 4×100 meters relay. Bolt is also an eleven-time World Champion.
Idris Elba, perhaps best loved for his role as Baltimore drug lord and aspiring businessman Stringer Bell in the HBO series “The Wire”, has been putting in that work recently, and not just in his capacity as an actor. The man is a prolific talent!
Last month, Idris was wowing audiences worldwide with his standout performance as “Bloodsport” in “The Suicide Squad,” the latest film to come out of the DC Universe. There may be an opportunity for Idris to reprise the role. The movie’s Director James Gunn said this week, “There is a possibility of seeing more #Bloodsport in the near future – something I’d love to see! – but there is nothing currently in development.”
Then yesterday, it was announced that the multi-talented British star would be hosting this year’s “GRM Daily Rated Awards” alongside model Jourdan Dunn. The U.K based Rap and Grime awards celebrate the best in Black British music. The show returns as a virtual ceremony on September 16.
At the same time, Idris also took the opportunity to flex his rapping muscles, jumping on GRM Daily’s popular “Daily Duppy.”
The versatile artist has been putting out music all year making the spontaneous “Courteney Cox” with Connor Price. He also teamed up with Inner City and Steffanie Christi’an on the track, “No More Looking Back.”
Idris featured on Wiley’s catchy hit song “Boasty” which also included features from Sean Paul and Stefflon Don.
The GRM Awards will be streamed on YouTube on September 16. Stormzy, AJ Tracey, Pa Salieu, Headie One, Slowthai, Enny, Shaybo, and Central Cee are among the list of nominees.
Back in 1997, Puff Daddy honored his late friend, Christopher “The Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace, with the tribute song “I’ll Be Missing You” with Faith Evans and 112. Biggie was murdered on March 9 of that year.
“I’ll Be Missing You” spent a record-breaking 11 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The track by Puff Daddy (aka Sean “Diddy” Combs) also won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group.
In addition, Billboard has placed “I’ll Be Missing You” atop the Greatest of All Time Songs of the Summer list. The No Way Out collaboration beat out Brandy and Monica’s “The Boy Is Mine” (#2) and Bobby Lewis’ “Tossin’ and Turnin'” (#3).
“I’ll Be Missing You” has made news for other reasons in recent weeks as well. New York City rapper Sauce Money recently spoke about his contribution to the single and the alleged lack of compensation he was supposed to receive for his work.
“I missed out on about $4 million,” said Sauce Money. “We did something as far as the publishing deal that I had which is why I never really went at Puff because we figured something out on that end.”
He added, “That song generates about $730,000 a year. So you figure 10% of that is $73,000 and 20% is $146,000. You multiply that by 24, 25. So if I had a problem with him, you could understand, right?”
As a member of the R&B duo known as Chloe x Halle, singer/songwriter Chlöe Bailey was part of several music projects like 2018’s The Kids Are Alright and 2020’s Ungodly Hour. Bailey is now ready to go solo.
Chlöe Bailey announced she is dropping her new single titled “Have Mercy” this week. The 23-year-old Georgia native is set to release the song on September 10.
In addition, Chlöe Bailey will provide a premiere performance of “Have Mercy” at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards on September 12. She and her sister Halle Bailey appeared during last year’s Pre-Show with a performance of “Ungodly Hour.”
Chlöe Bailey has gone viral on social media several times in recent months. The Beyoncé protégé made waves when she posted cover versions of songs like Cardi B’s “Be Careful” and Drake’s “Marvins Room.” Plus, she made headlines for her rendition of “Feeling Good” on Good Morning America.
Fans of Chlöe Bailey can also look forward to her solo album arriving in the near future. According to the Grown-ish cast member, the forthcoming body of work has been in the works for at least two years.
“I started working on this album in 2019, a month or two before the pandemic hit. I put a pause on it so my sister and I could promote Ungodly Hour, but in between, I was in my bedroom creating at night. I’d be making my own beats and working on songs and ideas for this project that I knew would come, I just didn’t know when,” said Chlöe Bailey.
Kanye West has given an interview for the first time since releasing the much anticipated “DONDA” album last week. Yeezy, spotted touring art exhibitions in Berlin this week, spoke to the German tabloid newspaper, “Blid” to talk about his plans now that “DONDA” is out.
He revealed the purpose of his trip to Berlin – he plans to meet some of his favorite architects to discuss plans to rebuild schools in his hometown of Chicago. He will also be working on new music while over there saying, “God put me on this earth to make music,” said Kanye. “God put Demna here to design. God put Tadao Andō here to create architecture. God gifted Turrell. God all send us here for a certain reason and I have to make music.”
We should have the interview with the original sound (no voice-over) shortly! https://t.co/S9e26IPa5c
He continued, “I produce music in my thoughts, no matter where I am.” Kanye then played a new song featuring André 3000. He didn’t say whether the track was intended for the “DONDA” album or a forthcoming project. A tiny snippet of the unreleased track made its way to social media.
Kanye and the ATLien have made some great music together in the past, both appearing on Chris Brown’s “Deuces (Remix)” and Fonzworth Bentley’s “Everybody.”
Yesterday, Kanye dropped the video from “Come to Life,” the first visual from the “DONDA” album. The video features footage from Kanye’s Soldier Field listening event in Chicago. It begins with a birds-eye-view of the replica of his Chicago home that was the stage for the event. Also making the video were scenes from the night of Kanye on fire and Kim Kardashian in a wedding dress, making her way to Kanye in the center of the stadium.
After months of speculation, Drake’s highly-anticipated sixth studio album, “Certified Lover Boy” is here!
Drizzy dropped the official tracklist two hours before the album’s release, a handwritten one although it lacked any features.
https://www.instagram.com/p/CTWEDf7M34x/
However, Drake revealed the names of most of those included on the album in typical superstar fashion. In the few days leading up to the official release, he erected billboards across the US and Canada teasing who was on the album.
Speculation was rife as to exactly who Drizzy was referring to – Hov? Nas? Nicki? Well, we know now Drake’s Greatest of All Time is Jay-Z, featured on the track “Love All.”
The follow-up to 2018’s “Scorpion” features 21 songs with guest appearances from Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Future, Lil Durk, Rick Ross, Travis Scott, Young Thug, Lil Baby, 21 Savage, Project Pat, and more.
“CLB”s lead single “Laugh Now Cry Later” was released almost a year ago in August 2020. The song, featuring Durk, peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
“CLB” is a shorter project than “Scorpion” which had 25 songs. Speaking about the length of the project in an interview last February, Drake said, “Last album, I went high volume. It did two sides, 20-something songs, which is a lot of songs. This album, I’ll probably make it a more realistic offering, something more concise. Anywhere, whatever you want, it can be 10, 11, 16. I also do a lot of different types of music so it’s tough to make it like a seven-song album or something like that. Yea, I’m having a lot of fun right now making music.”
Drake’s Certified Lover Boy Tracklist:
1. “Champagne Poetry”
2. “Papi’s Home” featuring Nicki Minaj
3. “Girls Want Girls” featuring Lil Baby
4. “In the Bible” featuring Lil Durk and Giveon
5. “Love All” featuring Jay-Z
6. “Fair Trade” featuring Travis Scott
7. “Way 2 Sexy” featuring Future and Young Thug
8. “TSU”
9. “N 2 Deep” featuring Future
10. “Pipe Down”
11. “Yebba’s Heartbreak”
12. “No Friends in the Industry”
13. “Knife Talk: featuring 21 Savage and Project Pat

It’s been a long wait for fans of Bobby Shmurda. Since his release from incarceration back in February after 6 years in prison, fans have been eagerly waiting for new music.
Bobby had been teasing fans all week on social media with snippets of a new single.
“No Time for Sleep (Freestyle),” the first official single from Bobby Shmurda that was first teased earlier this week on social media is here. Bobby took to his Instagram to share a clip of the video that accompanies the track saying, “NO TIME FOR SLEEP SHHHHMOVIE OUT NOW ON @youtube THE LION IS OUT”
Bobby has taken his time in putting out new music following his six-year prison bid. However, he has been outside, appearing at Rolling Loud Miami recently where he premiered a new song and performed fan favorites “Hot N***a” and “Bobby B####.” Days later, he popped up on the remix of Eladio Carrión and J Balvin’s “Tata.”
There may also be music coming with Migos. In July, he promised that the long-awaited full-length mixtape with Migos, reportedly titled ” Shmigo Gang,” was on the way. “We got all types of different music coming out,” he said in an interview with Desus & Mero. “We got the Shmurda s### coming out. We got the ‘Shmigos’ s### coming out. It’s going to be a lit summer.”
Bobby Shmurda recently signed a management deal with Roc Nation and spoke of a spruced-up record deal. He also explained why he didn’t rush out the gate with a “First Day Out” track. ‘I want to go in the streets and cause hell,’ I’m saying, ‘I want to go in the streets and give back,’” Shmurda said. “I feel like that’s gangster.”
Bobby is set to appear at “Made in America” in Philadelphia this weekend.
Verzuz has confirmed that the next two artists to go head to head on the platform will be Fat Joe and Ja Rule. Co-founders, Swizz Beatz and Timbaland announced the next match-up on the Verzuz Instagram page.
The caption read, “Summer ain’t over!! @FATJOE VS @JARULE” TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 14 See it LIVE in person, tickets available Tuesday, 9/7 6PM PT / 9PM ET Watch in the @triller app, on your TV with the @fitetv app, or here on @verzuztv Drinks by @Ciroc #VERZUZ #TrillerVerz”
Both the Terror Squad Captain and the Murda Inc vet previously expressed an interest in doing a Verzuz but not against each other! They both named 50 Cent as an opponent they would like. Back in February 2020, Fat Joe told “The Morning Hustle,” “I think the guys in the trap, I think the girls, I think everybody [would] be like, ‘Oh wow, we got a Verzuz 50 Cent [with] Fat Joe? Oh, I’m tuning into that joint.’… That’ll be the ideal one,”
Then in April last year, Fat Joe chopped it up with Swizz Beatz for an episode of “The Fat Joe Show.” Ja Rule was listening in at the time and made it clear he also wanted to step in the ring with 50 Cent, and Fat Joe hyped the idea. “Ja Rule is sayin’ he loves Hip Hop first and foremost and he wants to do this for the culture,” Joe said at the time. “C’mon, you guys want the smoke for real.”
Upon hearing about the idea 50 Cent responded in a since-deleted Instagram post, which featured a homeless person’s body with Ja Rule’s face photoshopped onto the head and holding a sign that reads “I will battle 50 Cent for attention.”
Then in December Ja said a battle with Fiddy “would make the most sense,” but said it was unlikely to happen. “Listen, man. Everybody don’t want the smoke. Everybody don’t want this smoke. I got heat,” he told HipHopDX about a potential battle against 50 Cent. “Let me tell you something, when I do my shows, I can rock. I’m telling you, it’s like an hour of straight hit records. No filler. All crab meat, n***a. … All meat in that m############ crab cake, n***a.”
Ja continued saying that he loves the Verzuz platform, “but if I did one, if I did do a Verzuz, I would want my Verzuz to be fun,” he said. “That’s what Verzuz is supposed to be about—the celebration of music and the art, and the artistry.”
Fat Joe and Ja Rule’s Verzuz will take place at 9 p.m. ET, Sept. 14 in New York City. The event will be live-streamed on the Verzuz Instagram page as well as the Triller and FiteTV apps. Tickets for the event go on sale on September 7.
Meek Mill says he needs a reggae song badly and fans are pointing him to Popcaan and Shenseea, two of the leading Jamaican artists right now. Meek Mill‘s most recent album, Championships, was released in 2018, but the artist could not be described as slacking off in his music career. Since Championships‘ release, he’s collaborated with a slew of other artists, including Drake, Ella Mai, and, most recently, Lil Baby, Lil Durk, and Lil Uzi Vert. Currently, he has two new tracks out: Sharing Locations featuring Lil Baby and Lil Durk and Blue Notes2 with Lil Uzi Vert, which dropped on September 1st.
After a three-year wait, fans are eager to discover what he’s been working on behind the scenes for his new album. Fans were granted their wish over the weekend when Meek conducted a Q&A session where he tweeted out, “Album done so soon!” much to their excitement and relief. However, it seems it may not be as soon as fans may think. On August 30th, AStyle Alive queried the possibility of Meek doing a reggae-style song.
“@meekmill wassup with Meek on a reggae vibe type a track?? #TapIn,” he tweeted. To the surprise of fans, Mill responded, “I want a reggae song badddddddd as s*it on my album … one I can rap on.”
