Lil Mama Is In Hot Water Over “Transphobic” Remarks

I think social media’s gonna be the death of some of these people! Lil Mama is back at it again. I’m not sure what she’s thinking she’s doing but, this is not the hill to die on! The rapper talk to Brother Rizza about transsexual affairs, most namely children. I’m not going to offer an opinion on that, because that is not the point at this particular moment. But she offered her opinion, and that opinion has incensed a number of people in the LGBT+ community. What she said Is basically, that kids under puberty are not in a position to decide if they can have a sex change. But don’t get me started, here is exactly what she said.

I have already seen what happened to her when she stepped out of line. She was banned from all sorts of platforms for a very long time. And, quite frankly she has been getting dragged for quite some time. In fact, I believe this started a week or so ago. This is a clip that folks are circulating in support of their feeling that she hates trans.

https://twitter.com/LordeCali/status/983048479848230912?

But let me try to get to the bottom of this.

So, now she is considered transphobic. But I will say this: Lil Mama is not biting her tongue. in fact she’s doubling down on her opinions. And that is going to be very interesting, because most people are not saying anything. The dialogue, as I see it, is primarily being conducted over social media outlets and that person to person.

Some of the LGBT folks that I know are infuriated, and yelling back. Some are more reserved but in vocal disagreement with what has been said by the rapper. David Johns is fuming, but he gave a measured response.

We still don’t know if Lil Mama is pregnant.

PnB Rock Loses Millions After Another Rapper Gets The Rights To “Everyday We Lit”

Rapper PnB Rock just lost a few millions he would have earned for his verse on YFN Lucci’s smashing single, “Everyday We Lit.”

In March of 2018, a rapper named Rackboy Cam sued YFN Lucci for stealing the popular song “Everyday We Lit,” claiming the Atlanta rapper simply stole his song and made some minor changes.

Rackboy Cam released his song called “Everything Be Lit” featuring PnB Rock in December of 2016 and said his song was simply stolen not too long after he dropped his version.

In addition to YFN Lucci, Rackboy Cam sued PnB Rock, producer The Jenius, and Think It’s A Game Records.

And now, Rackboy Cam is cashing in according to NJ.com.

Rackboy Cam had already settled with YFN Lucci over the copyright infringement claim, and he was recently rewarded a fortune, which will come out of PnB Rock and The Jenius’ pockets.

Last week, a judge awarded Rackboy Cam a whopping $1,447,720 big ones, because PnB Rock and The Jenius never even bothered to reply to the lawsuit.

The judge gave Rackboy Cam PnB Rock and The Jenius’ 50 % songwriters shares on “Everyday We Lit,” and he gets the same from the remix featuring Lil Yachty and Wiz Khalifa.

Benny The Butcher Talks Dropping The Harry Fraud-Produced ‘The Plugs I Met 2’ EP

Griselda spitter Benny The Butcher is back with another body of work. The Plugs I Met 2 arrives today (March 19) just five months after the Buffalo-bred rapper dropped his Burden of Proof album and four months after he was shot during a robbery attempt in Houston.

“I recorded both projects [Burden Of Proof and The Plugs I Met 2] at the same time, so it’s the same headspace; but a different energy,” says Benny. “I recorded Burden Of Proof in Cali with Hit-Boy and The Plugs I Met 2 in Brooklyn with Harry and you can hear that influence.”

The Roc Nation affiliate added, “I came in as an underdog, to filling out my position as one of the elite rhymers in the industry. Plugs 2 expands upon that mindset; the same confidence, same attitude, cocky, but I still have something to prove.”

Benny The Butcher’s The Plugs I Met 2 was produced entirely by veteran New York City beatmaker Harry Fraud. Plus, the 9-track effort features contributions by 2 Chainz, Fat Joe, Jim Jones, French Montana, Rick Hyde, and Chinx.

Plugs 2 is the story of a hustler who has realized success but understands how fragile it is. Lyrically, the album shows Benny reflecting on what he’s sacrificed to get here and what he’ll need to do to continue his rise to the top,” says Harry Fraud.

The original The Plugs I Met came out in 2019. That EP included tracks with Black Thought, Jadakiss, 38 Spesh, Conway The Machine, Pusha T, and more. Benny’s catalog also consists of other projects like 2018’s Tana Talk 3, 2019’s Statue of Limitations with Smoke DZA, and 2020’s Da Respected Sopranos with Black Soprano Family and DJ Drama.

Forbes: Kanye West Being Worth $6.6 Billion Is Based On “Magical Thinking”

For many people, Forbes is the media authority on calculating celebrities’ and businesspeople’s net worth. Because of that status, the publication quickly changing its coverage of Kanye West’s finances is an interesting development.

Forbes was one of the many outlets that ran a story about West being “the richest Black man in America” because his net worth supposedly climbed to over $6 billion. However, that article by Fashion & Beauty contributor Lela London is no longer active on the Forbes website.

A few hours after the London piece was published, Hollywood & Entertainment staff writer Madeline Berg ran a new Forbes article titled “No, Kanye West Is Not The Richest Black Person In America—Here’s Why.” The writer claimed West’s supposed $6.6 billion fortune is based on “magical thinking.”

Berg wrote:

It’s not true, based on our calculations. Forbes estimates he’s worth less than a third of that, or $1.8 billion. That’s a big jump from last May when Forbes first pegged his net worth to be $1.3 billion, but nowhere near as much as the purported $6.6 billion. Vista Equity’s Robert F. Smith remains the richest Black person in the U.S., worth an estimated $6 billion, while Aliko Dangote of Nigeria, worth $11.8 billion, is the richest Black person in the world. The sky-high estimate is the latest of West’s attempts to inflate his net worth—in the past he’s said that Forbes was “purposely snubbing me.”

The article goes on to breakdown West’s estimated net worth: Yeezy brand ($1.5 billion), cash and other assets ($160 million), music catalog ($90 million), Skims investment ($64 million). Berg then argued that West’s Yeezy x Gap deal should not be valued at $970 million to $1.5 billion until the line actually starts selling products.

There has been a long love-hate relationship between Kanye West and Forbes. The business magazine repeatedly recognized the Jesus Is King album creator as one of the highest-paid Hip Hop stars on a yearly basis and even featured West on an August 2019 cover.

However, Forbes is quick to push back against reports about West’s net worth that seem to emanate from his own camp. For example, West insisted in 2020 that he was worth around $3 billion. Forbes Media & Entertainment Senior Editor Zack O’Malley Greenburg appraised West’s worth at $1.3 billion at the time.

CJ Recruits Rowdy Rebel & French Montana For “Whoopty NYC” Remix

Christopher “CJ” Soriano Jr. scored a Top 10 entry with his single “Whoopty.” The Staten Island-bred newcomer has now enlisted two fellow New Yorkers for a remix of the record.

Three different NYC boroughs came together for the collaboration. Brooklyn’s Rowdy Rebel and the Bronx’s French Montana joined CJ for the new version of the Billboard hit.

“Whoopty NYC” is the first song off the upcoming deluxe version of Loyalty Over Royalty. The expanded EP will host additional tracks that were not part of the original tracklist.

CJ’s Loyalty Over Royalty dropped on February 19 via Warner Records. The deluxe edition, which will include “Whoopty NYC” featuring Rowdy and French, is scheduled to be released on April 9.

Cardi B Claps Back At Gubernatorial Candidate Over Her Not Playing “WAP” For Her Daughter

“WAP” was released last August, and the song is still creating a buzz. Right-wing politicians and pundits continue to complain about Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s performance of the collaboration at Sunday’s Grammy Awards ceremony.

Earlier this week, Fox News contributor Candace Owens had a back-and-forth with Cardi about “WAP” on social media. Other conservatives, like a Donald Trump supporter looking to raise his profile, are also clutching their pearls in order to get a little shine by interacting with the chart-topping rapper.

“Cardi B cuts off ‘WAP’ when her daughter, Kulture, walks into the room. She looks embarrassed.” tweeted Errol Webber, a candidate running to replace California Governor Gavin Newsom. “This is how you know Cardi B knows right from wrong, yet STILL deliberately chooses to do wrong by [gyrating] and s######### her WAP on national TV… in view of other people’s kids.”

His tweet included a clip of Cardi playing “WAP” on Instagram Live and cutting the song off when her 2-year-old daughter entered the room. Webber’s tweet eventually reached Cardi, and she clapped back at the filmmaker-turned-politician.

“The Grammies are PG. That means parental guidance. Meaning [it] is your job like it is to mine to my child to monitor what they watch. My performance was around 10 pm on a Sunday. Your child should be in bed ready for school the next day why are they up watching ‘WAP’?” asked Cardi.

That message got a lot of backing from other Twitter users. Cardi’s response garnered more than 15,000 retweets and 86,000 likes. Meanwhile, all of the press about her controversial Grammy set actually sent more eyes towards the YouTube video of the performance and has helped her other single “Up” see a bump in sales and streams.

Young Buck Reveals Entire Beef With 50 Cent Was Fake

After years of online beefing, Young Buck says that he and 50 Cent were pretending not to like each other so that fans could “love” the former G-Unit rapper again.

On his Instagram Live, “Stay Fly” emcee detailed the scheme set into play by the master of all trolls, 50 Cent — revealing that the two even shot a video that will drop soon.

“Y’all got played this time. We sit down in master-planned this sht out,” he shared. “50 was like I am fin to say all kind of sht about you. I’m gonna make him f**king hate you and then you gonna make him love you again.”

At first, he said they didn’t know what he meant, but then after being by the Power producer, he agreed. He marveled and said, “I just followed the new plan, and then all of a sudden … I guess [50] was right ’cause they love me again.”

“And I did it I made him love me again.”

This admission comes weeks after Young Buck dropped a new single and video called “Ash Tray.” In this song, he speaks on his “beef” with the G-Unit general, 50 Cent, touches on Dr. Dre and his desire to have had Lloyd Banks.

“Why try to sign me and sabotage me? Break me and Travelodge me? See me and try to dodge me?” he raps.

“Thought you were my brother, told you to guide me. Put this knife inside a stomach, told you to hide me,” continues to spit. “Ay Dre, you don’t owe me nothing, I do this proudly!”

“Tried to silence me and imbalance me, scared to battle me, wouldn’t challenge me. Tried to frame me and then blame me.”

“I’m front gassing on you, I’m flashing on you, Dumping ashes on you.”

We are waiting to hear what 50 says … he is sure to set everything straight.

Kanye West’s Bodyguard Claims NDA To Keep The Billionaire’s Secrets Was Forged

One day after Forbes magazine announced that Kanye West is on his way to being the richest Black American in the history of the United States, his former bodyguard is accusing the headliner maker of forging his name on an NDA.

Steve Stanulis served on Kanye’s security detail for a short time in 2016 and immediately linked with the press to talk about the artist’s most intimate moments with his family, doing business and public performances — including the infamous meltdown on Saturday Night Live that many attribute to his struggles with bipolarism.

Now, Stanulis is working with several networks to put out a documentary about his time with the Wests.

“They see this as a ’48 Hours’ for real or a ‘Lethal Weapon’ for real,” he said, referring to the famous buddy movies of the ’80s. “It comes from my mouth, I worked with [West] two separate times.”

However, Team Yeezy says that are in possession of a signed NDA that will prohibit him from sharing what he “thinks” he knows from the two occasions he was hired to work. Over the last five years, they have threatened to sue him to the tune of $40 million for spreading lies about the rock star family.

Steve Stanulis says he never signed such a thing, claiming that someone actually forged his signature on the contract. He alleged that one was presented but he did not sign because they wanted him to backdate it.

“‘What? Why would I do that? Why would I put my head on a guillotine?’” he said on “The Domenick Nati Show” on IG. “Why would I back-date an NDA?”

He also says he has proof. While some fans are interested in seeing this proof, others think he is a clown. He also is a clout-chasing chatty patty. Check him out bragging about Leo DiCaprio.

Ray J And Princess Love Officially Call Off Their Divorce – Again!

R&B singer-turned-reality star Ray J is officially giving his troubled marriage to Princess Love another go after having their divorce papers dismissed in court.

Princess Love filed a motion to end their four-year union last May, while Ray J lodged his own paperwork in a Los Angeles court in September.

However, the on/off couple has been working on saving its marriage in recent months, and in February, the “One Wish” musician headed to Miami, Florida to join his wife and their two young children as they made plans to settle down and have a fresh start in the city.

Now it’s emerged Princess Love filed her most recent dismissal documents around the same time, with Ray J signing off on the papers, which have since been entered into the court system by a clerk.

The divorce dismissal was filed without prejudice, allowing them to go through the whole process in the future if required.

At the time of their Miami reunion last month, Ray J said he was optimistic about working things out with his wife.

“We’re in a good place right now,” he said. “We’re in Miami, we’re gonna move down to Miami. I don’t think we’re going back to Los Angeles any time soon. We’ve been taking care of the kids, they love it out here, and it’s given us a different mood and outlook on life. God is good, we’re taking it one day at a time.”

He added, “We are together. Are we back together? I think that’s a journey we’ve gotta take… but we are together, we love being together.

“Now it’s figuring out how we keep it consistent and enjoy life together and be good together because I think we are meant to be together.”

Fly Guy DC: The Ultimate Culture Connector In Atlanta

If you’re in Atlanta and you’re out turning up, it’s hard to miss Fly Guy DC. Responsible for bringing all the vibes and good energy into the nightlife scene in the A, DC is a culture creator, event host, brand ambassador, and radio personality with his own nightly show 6pm to 10pm on Streetz 94.5 in Atlanta.

Previously on air with Ferrari Simmons, DC plans to continue what he’s always done: breaking today’s hottest artists from Lil Baby to DaBaby to Megan and Roddy Ricch.

Deemed the “voice of the millennials,” the 29-year-old states, “I do a lot. I’m a jack-of-all-trades to be completely honest. When it comes to the culture in Atlanta, I play a major role in a lot of stuff that happens in this city and in the Southeastern region.”

What sets Fly Guy DC apart is he has mastered the concept of hosting, and it’s nothing he can explain in words. DC states, The party is not about himself or the DJ, it’s about the birthday girl who’s in the club with 20 of her friends. The party’s about the people, and the average host doesn’t understand that concept. He explains, “The more you make it about the people, the better your brand will be. I’ve mastered making it about the people, you have to witness it.”

AllHipHop: How are you holding up with the pandemic?

Fly Guy DC: I’m holding up good. I’ve had the blessings of not catching COVID, so I’m holding up good. Literally incredible.

AllHipHop: Why you are the voice of the millennials?

Fly Guy DC: Oh man, it doesn’t get any better than me in the Southeastern region when it comes to the community. I’m in the schools: I do pep rallies, I do proms. I crash the proms and bring their favorite artists. I go speak to the schools on career days. I have panels at the schools. I do reading programs with my brother Ferrari Simmons at the schools, that’s the homie. I’m very big in the community of Atlanta, outside of the club and radio life. The people can touch me, I touch the people. I’m involved with everything major that goes on inside of the city, that’s one of the reasons I’m the voice of the millennials. Secondly when it comes to the craft I’m in, including radio and hosting, I’m the youngest doing it. I’ve progressed faster than anybody in the craft previously.

AllHipHop: What was the craziest prom you’ve done?

Fly Guy DC: When Dae Dae had the “What U Mean” song, the song was at its peak. We brought him to a prom somewhere downtown. Every prom experience is incredible. There’s one I did with Justin and Ferrari, we had them “Swag Surf.” Before the “Swag Surf” beat dropped, we spinned the song “Bad and Boujee” and that went viral. It went viral everywhere, it was when “Bad and Boujee” was at its peak.

AllHipHop: Talk about your roots in Atlanta, what was a young Fly Guy DC like?

Fly Guy DC: My roots began in D.C. I played sports: basketball, baseball, football my whole life. Even in high school, I played all 3 sports. I pursued basketball and played basketball in college. I never had dreams of hosting or being in the entertainment industry, it was more of a sports thing for me.

Growing up, my mom’s a single mom of 5. I was the oldest so I had to play the father figure role, which I set so many examples for my younger siblings. I have 4 of them on my mom’s side. My little brother, he’s 26. I have a little sister who’s 22, then my twin sisters are 16. I had to set the example and be the role model for them because there was no father figure in the house. Everything that happened in our household I was the first to do. I was the first to graduate college, I had to lead by example. My brother followed my footsteps now, next is my sisters.

In 2007, my mom moved to Georgia. I had an option to stay in D.C. with the rest of my family or move to Georgia. Me being the older brother, I had to move with my mom. It messed up a lot of things. In D.C., me and my little brother had basketball, football, baseball on lock up there. Anybody knows playing any type of sport, moving to another state — no matter how good you are, no matter how talented you are — once you get to a space, place, or school, people already have who they already have. Everything’s already set usually.

I went to a school called Morrow High School on the Southside, they already had their whole basketball team. Everything was already made: the starting Point Guard, his mom and dad were over the booster club. I played Point Guard. My senior year, the spring football game was scrimmaging against each other. The defensive coach wants to put me at running back for some odd reason. I played defense, I played cornerback. The first play as running back, a lineman falls on the bottom part of my leg and broke my tibia and fibula. I lost every scholarship offer I had for every sport there was that I was playing, it changed everything for me.

Luckily, I did still get a chance to play college ball. Went to Middle Georgia Tech, I won them a ring my freshman year. Got a gym built in honor of us winning that ring. From there, hosting started. A couple of my homeboys threw a party and asked me to talk on the microphone. I’m thinking “okay I’m a people person, I’m just going to talk.” I didn’t know it was called hosting. In the midst of me making people laugh, people started to book me. I went from being booked at one club to 3 or 4 clubs in a week. I started to take it serious a little bit. I was in for the perks.

AllHipHop: What perks?

Fly Guy DC: In the industry, you know the perks. You have the females, the fast money, the networking, the relationships. It was that until I realized how much money was in it. I got my first out-of-town booking, they treated me like a god. They treated me like an artist. They paid for me to get there, to get back, for my hotel, for my security, for my food, driver, everything was taken care of. I got back to Atlanta and started to take it serious. I was booked 7 days a week. Every party promoter or club owner wanted me at their club or event. Fast forward to 2014, the owner of the radio station comments on one of my Instagram pictures and asks me to email him. Tells me he’s the owner of the station that I’m on now.

AllHipHop: He reached out to you? That’s crazy!

Fly Guy DC: He reached out to me. I never had no radio background, never was an intern. I emailed him. The dope part is he reached out, but he didn’t get back to me for 2 years. I didn’t hear from him for 2 years. He emailed me in 2015, I’m looking like “bro I emailed you 2 years ago.” He said “hey, I want you to come to the station. I want to meet with you.” From there, it’s been history. 2015, I joined forces and was on DJ Holiday’s show. 2017, a demand came for me in the city. There was a bidding war, I landed the 6pm to 10pm show with Ferrari Simmons from 2017 to 2020. Fast forward now into 2021, I have my own night show 6pm to 10pm. This wasn’t planned, it just happened.

AllHipHop: Talk about the energy you bring, whether you’re hosting or on air.

Fly Guy DC: This is me saying this as humble as possible: nobody can create the energy I can create when I’m hosting or on the airwaves. Not because I know my capabilities, this is what people tell me. Club owners, promoters, the people have spoken. My energy’s different. I don’t treat any event the same, I don’t treat any day on the radio the same. A person can be going through the worst in their life and come to an event I’m hosting, they forget all their worries.

I was hosting this after hours spot, a girl walked up to me and I helped her beat cancer. I know for a fact it’s nothing I can do to help that, that’s all God. She said her being out at events, my energy and me being the person I am helped her get over a lot of things. I get stories like that all the time. To hear stuff like that, wow. That’s how I know my energy is changing the culture and shaping the culture and reinventing what they call a host.

AllHipHop: When did you pick up the name Fly Guy DC?

Fly Guy DC: I used to go by Sucha Fly Guy DC in 2013. I was young, it had a ring to it. Because I’m from DC and moved to Georgia, my teammates called me DC. The Fly Guy came from how I dressed. Moving from D.C. down South, the dressing was totally different. I know Georgia didn’t get its first H&M until 2015. Up North, we wore fitted stuff. The stuff that’s in now, we’re already wearing it. When I came down here, the sneakers with the Wale lace where they’re not tied, we’ve been doing that since birth in D.C. I dropped the “Sucha” in 2014 because it sounded so young.

AllHipHop: What can we expect from your new night show on Streetz 94.5?

Fly Guy DC: New night show is incredible. Being in a top 10 market is very competitive. My show segments are insane. It’s a lot of energy. Of course it’s a lot of breaking new artists, which I’ve been doing since I’ve started radio. From Lil Baby, DaBaby, Megan, Roddy Ricch, all these artists that have come out since almost 2016, me and Ferrari have had a hand in them as far as helping them, giving them their first radio interview or them running around the club with us before the world knows them. They all can vouch for that. Every interview, they start off saying “thank y’all, y’all was the first ones to do this, do this, do this.” It’s more pushing the culture forward with my show, breaking new artists and giving artists that platform to where they could be heard because my stamp in the city means something.

AllHipHop: I saw that Cardi B shoutout on her IG Live, what was your reaction?

Fly Guy DC: Insane, to be completely honest. Cardi was already huge because of TV but when she first got into music, she was in Atlanta and came to some of the clubs I was hosting. I gravitated to her. On my page now, there’s a picture of me and Cardi B in 2015. She had red hair with a Corona in her hand, before she was Cardi Cardi. I have an ear for music, so I gravitate toward good music or people who are talented. I did what I could in Atlanta in the Atlanta market with my platform to help her. Now, it’s all love with her.

2 years ago Superbowl in Miami, she was booked at a party I was booked at. She stopped everything and said “listen, DC been rocking with me since day 1.” I was on her Live when she released the “Up” record. It was 100K people in there, I typed “hey Cardi, I need a drop for my show.” She stopped everything she’s doing, she read my comment and did the drop live. I didn’t even catch it at the time because I didn’t expect her to do it. I had over 100 DMs of everybody who screenrecorded it, sending me the video which is how I got it.

AllHipHop: What does it mean to be able to get all these plaques? Tou recently got one for Mulatto.

Fly Guy DC: It means a lot because it shows the appreciation from the label’s side, from the artist’s side. It means much more when a lot of people don’t get it. Prime example, only 5 people got the Mulatto plaque: her, her manager, her DJ, me, and Ferrari. A lot of people don’t take risks on artists until they see somebody else doing it. When Mulatto got off The Rap Game, she wasn’t nowhere where she is now. I had her with me going to pep rallies, going to proms, running around to all the schools. Those plaques mean a lot, especially when they’re limited. I know labels and artists have to do what they have to do to keep everybody happy, but when they’re limited and not too many people get them, it means a lot because we’re appreciated.

AllHipHop: How is it working with Ferrari Simmons? What’s your guys’ synergy like?

Fly Guy DC: Me and Ferrari’s energy is insane. Nobody can duplicate what we did on our run 6pm to 10pm in Atlanta from 2017 to 2020. It can’t be duplicated. It’s impossible. The energy’s unmatched. I mean, Ferrari’s the older, OG, more experienced version. I’m the young, more hip to the streets version. Together, it’s yin and yang. The stuff I don’t know or I’m not well-aware of, he’s already there putting it in play. The stuff he’s out of touch with with the youth, I’m putting it in place. It works perfectly.

AllHipHop: I saw you introduced Russ and Lil Baby, bring us back to that moment.

Fly Guy DC: Me and Ferrari were interviewing Lil Baby, and Russ on the same day. One interview was at 9pm, the other one was once we got off the air at 10pm. Lil Baby got there earlier, so we Facetimed Russ and said “yo, we need you to get here now.” We told Lil Baby we’re interviewing Russ, Baby said “dang, he’s dope. I want to meet him, I never met him.” Russ arrived, we go downstairs and I introduce them. I asked Baby off the interview, “would you do a song with Russ?” I know Russ wanted to do a song with Lil Baby. Weeks later, Russ texts me “yo, we got one. I appreciate you.” This was 2018, the song’s just coming out but they’ve been sitting on it for so long. To be able to connect the dots and be a culture connector, it’s incredible. The stuff I’ve done for this city and the industry in general, nobody can take that away. That’s the best part about this.

AllHipHop: How important is consistency in your field?

Fly Guy DC: Consistency’s everything. You can fall off for 2 or 3 weeks, the next person’s ready to take your slot. Master your craft because there’s always a new young gunna ready to take your spot with more energy, way more excited. Don’t hate on the young gunnas, let them gravitate to you. Take them under your wing, teach them the game and ropes. I didn’t have nobody who took me under their wing. When I was coming up in the hosting game, everybody wanted to s### on me. It made me say f-ck all the OGs. I respect y’all but y’all ain’t want to give me the game then, how could I respect y’all now that I’m on? It’s very important to pull in some younger ones under you to teach the game to because your legacy will live on forever.

AllHipHop: What is a normal day in the life of Fly Guy DC?

Fly Guy DC: A weekday? I sleep in till 3pm or 4pm, because I host late. The clubs out here, I’m double, triple, quadruple booked. Each club I’m not at for longer than an hour and a half. I get paid to be at clubs by the hour. All Star Weekend: Friday I have 3 clubs. I have Lil Baby at Gold Room, then I go to the Dome with Future and Moneybagg, then I have an after hour. I sleep all day because I’m not getting in until 6am. If it’s a weekday, II wake up, shower, head to the station. I’m on air from 6pm to 10pm. Once I’m off air, maybe a meeting then it’s right back to the club. It’s repeating the same process over and over again.

AllHipHop: Are you partying in these clubs? Are you sober?

Fly Guy DC: I’ve never drank or smoked a day in my life. I’ve never done hookah a day in my life. It doesn’t appeal to me. No peer pressure could make me do anything I don’t want to do. Artists from your Lucci’s to your Trouble’s, I get offered money money to say “yo, take a shot with me.” Trying to persuade me, but it doesn’t appeal to me.

AllHipHop: Were you at the cucumber pool parties with Trouble?

Fly Guy DC: I actually hosted that. I’m the reason why that went viral. [laughs]

AllHipHop: Top 3 artists in rotation?

Fly Guy DC: Lil Baby and Lil Durk in the Top 2, they have the game. Oh, Pooh Shiesty!

AllHipHop: Anything else you’d like to let the people know?

Fly Guy DC: If you’re in Atlanta, I guarantee you you’ll be somewhere I’m booked at. Make sure you tap in. If you don’t know who I am, you will. Ask your big homies or your favorite artists, they’ll know who I am for sure.

AllHipHop: What’s next for you?

Fly Guy DC: TV’s going to be next, there’s no way around it.

Quavo And Saweetie Unfollow Each Other On Social Media Sparking Breakup Theories

One of rap’s most darling couples seems to have called it “social media quits.”

Raptress Saweetie and her Atlanta beau Quavo have been dating hot and heavy since 2018 when the couple started flirting on Instagram. The two have noted over the years that it was the Migos member that slid into her DM, dropping the snowflake emoji.

He coyly said, “You an icy girl, you need a glacier boy.” This was a reference to her hit song, “Icy.”

She responded just as cleverly by dropping a stir fry emoji — referencing his hit song “Stir Fry.”

Just as digitally discreet as the romance started, it seems to have ended. Fans have noticed that both chart-toppers have unfollowed each other on Instagram.

According to Amy Chan’s “Breakup Bootcamp: The Science of Rewiring Your Heart” unfollowing/ deleting an ex on social media is actually healthy. She said, “One-hundred percent, detox from your ex,” because that is the only way to get over the heartbreak.

“And it’s not because they’re a bad person,” she continued. “Detoxing from your ex doesn’t mean that you hate the person or it ended on bad terms. It also doesn’t mean you can’t be friends again in the future, but you do need a period of time for your mind, body, heart, and soul, to transition from a relationship that’s intimate or romantic to something else.”

She uses psychological and neuroscience research to support this decision.

But Saweetie might just be using good ole’ homegirl logic — “I don’t want to see him. It’s a wrap.” Who knows …

According to what her interview on Justin LaBoy’s “Respectfully Justin” show, there might be a clue as to why she broke up with the “Versace” rapper.

When asked about what the most disrespectful thing a man could do to her, she said “break her heart” and lie.

“I think it’s lying. It’s the principle, I don’t like liars,” she said.

Did he lie to her? Developing …

Vanessa Bryant Outs The Cops Who Took Pictures Of Kobe Bryant’s Remains After Helicopter Crash

Vanessa Bryant has named and shamed the police officers who took pictures of her late husband Kobe Bryant’s remains following the helicopter crash that claimed his life.

In a series of posts on her Instagram page, which she left caption-less, Vanessa shared every single page from the lawsuit she filed against the Los Angeles County, the sheriff’s department, and LA County Sheriff Alex Villanueva in September.

The lawsuit, which came after it was reported that March that pictures had been taken of the crash in January – which also killed Vanessa and Kobe’s 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven other people – cites emotional distress, negligence, and invasion of privacy.

“At the moment the deputies snapped photos of Kobe and Gianna’s remains, they created a harm that cannot be undone, and the Department’s response has only exacerbated that harm,” the lawsuit reads.

Elsewhere in the documents, it is revealed that one of the officers in question, who didn’t have an active role in the investigation into Kobe’s death, “shared the photos with a personal friend with whom he played video games with every night”.

Following her posts on Instagram, Vanessa was praised by fans for naming the officers involved in the shocking breach, with one writing: “Vanessa Bryant revealed the names of those disgraceful police officers that shared that shared the images. Good on her.”

“The fact that Vanessa Bryant didn’t burn down this entire police station is incredible to me. I feel sick reading this,” another added.

Vanessa is also suing officials at the helicopter company for wrongful death.

Why Kirk Franklin’s Rant Was What I Needed To Hear!

By Cornell Dews

Aye yo, I swear I really needed to hear that leaked tape of Kirk Franklin speaking to his son.  It was right on time, for me.  I am a Christian.  Many years ago, I accepted Jesus Christ as my LORD and Savior.  I believe that HE died for me.  So I shall live for HIM.  It’s been about 20 years since my wife came to me and said, “I want us to start going to church.”  And I said to my wife, “that’s cool, I ain’t really doing nothing on Sunday’s anyway.”  My wife then said, “that’s the most ignorant thing I ever heard.”  I was befuddled.  I wondered “was it the most ignorant thing she had ever heard or was it the most ignorant thing that she’d ever heard me say?”  If it was the latter, I’m sure I have far exceeded that by now.  But I digress.  My wife said to me, “we need to introduce our daughters to someone greater than themselves.”  I agreed.  My wife already had in mind a church that she wanted us to visit.  That Sunday, we threw on our best and we preceded to go to church.  I didn’t like it.  Midway through the service I knew that I wouldn’t return.  The following Sunday, my wife got dressed to go to church.  I remained in my lounge attire and commenced to do what I had normally done on Sunday mornings, nothing really.  My wife came downstairs and asked, “why aren’t you dressed?’  I said, “I’m not going.”  Without uttering a word, she went back upstairs, slipped her lounge attire back on and returned, taking a seat next to me.  I looked at her and said, “what are you doing”?  To which she replied, “I’m not going if you’re not going.”  Right at that moment, I felt the burgeoning responsibility as a man to lead my family in our spiritual growth and development.  I already knew the church that I was interested in visiting.  And I knew the church leader that I was interested in being taught by.  I had met Pastor PM Smith and the Huber Memorial Church 5 years prior.  That’s another story in itself.  However, in 2001 my family and I joined the church, and my wife’s faith and practice has grown exponentially, but I…

Before I continue, allow me to say that I don’t condone any type of abuse.  Verbal abuse is just as damaging, if not more damaging to a person than any form of abuse.  As it’s been recorded in my pass writings, I’ve been a teacher for more than two decades.  I witnessed how damaging a “you’re so stupid” comment from parent to child can be.  Sadly, I know the toxicity that leads to parents cursing their children out like sworn enemies.  I understand the reverberation of that hurt in our community.  My editorial is not about Kirk Franklin cursing his son out per se.  That’s personal family business.  Instead, what I’m talking about is observing a GOD fearing man revert back.

One week prior to hearing the taped telephone call between Kirk Franklin and his adult son, my wife and I enjoyed watching his NPR Tiny Desk concert.  We joyfully watched him and his crew sing contemporary gospel songs.  He looked as if he was the happiest man in the world.  As a matter of fact, what I felt from watching him, prompted me to lean over and say to my wife, “that can’t be none other than the LORD.”  A week later he’s heard cursing his oldest son out and threatening him like a sworn enemy.  Immediately I realized, that’s why “he” as in “me” and “we” need the LORD.  Look how easy it is, when provoked or unprovoked, to revert back to our old selves.  That was my greatest takeaway from that taped phone call.  But rather than focus on Kirk and Kerrion, I’d rather suggest that what we witnessed is the battle that all people of faith are torn with.

But GOD.  Since I started my walk with the LORD, I’ve been asked countless times, “Cornell, when are you going to allow the LORD to use your gifts and talents for HIM?”  The question itself always scared me because I knew that I was still prone to be drawn to partake in worldly things.  I was straddling the fence, never fully committing myself because I knew that I wasn’t all the way “right.”  I’d think to myself that I didn’t want to be a hypocrite.  Recently though I realized that it wasn’t just that I didn’t want to be a hypocrite, but it was also the fact that I didn’t want to be held accountable to the highest degree.  I, like many people, thought that I had to first correct myself before I could fully commit to serving the LORD.  Even though I’ve been told otherwise and personally know that I can’t correct myself, I still was reluctant to submit.  About a week ago, a brother from my church came to me and said, “Cornell, I’m stepping down from the ministry I’m on and would like to know if you’re interested in stepping up?”  I was hesitant to respond.  Thinking to myself, “man, I’m not all the way right yet.”  I’m prone to revert back.  I called one of my closest and dearest friends since childhood, who has been serving in his church for years.  I told him about the opportunity I’ve been presented with to lead.  I also acknowledged that I know that I’ve been called to do something greater.  I needed to know from him, “how did you do it?  How have you elevated in church ministry and maintained being yourself?”  He told me that he does it by acknowledging that GOD wants to use him as he is.  Imperfect, but perfect to be used.

That’s what I heard in Kirk Franklin when I listened to him break and angrily speak to his son.  In my eyes that validated what I as seeking.  Here is a man of GOD, that isn’t perfect; however, he has been used for years to spread the gospel, introduce people to JESUS and positively impact lives of people in the kingdom.  What the conversation showed me is potentially who he could be at all times, if GOD wasn’t constantly present in his life.  I thought to myself, “that’s me.”  And that’s what I’ve been using as an excuse to keep me from allowing myself to be used by GOD.  I saw Kirk’s breakdown as a lack of judgement, but a completely honest moment.  To be frank, he showed us all why we need JESUS more than anything else.  It’s evident that when HE isn’t present, “I” am.  If I’m left to navigate this world without HIM, alone, with my judgement, and worldly desires my life would be destitute and full of sin.  I’d be living in hell.  And I’d definitely be running around here calling people “B.A.N’s” myself, every time I got angry.  Which would be quite often.  But GOD.

So I appreciate Kirk Franklin for his unauthorized moment of transparency.  I know that he has issued a public apology.  Prayerfully he and his son can resolve all the issues that have manifested between them.  For me, as I try to do with all things, I learned from this.  And unlike the Christians who are attacking Kirk for not conducting himself in a certain manner, along with the people threatening to cancel him, I can honestly say that I’ve been drawn nearer.  I better understand.  Imperfectly perfect and useful.  I’m ready to be used.

P.S. Man, I done wrote all of that and they just told me that was Plies on the phone. That wasn’t even Kirk Franklin.  And I wrote all of this!  I’m about to cuss somebody ass out.

Lil Baby Declares Joint Project With Lil Durk Will Be One Of The Craziest Albums Ever

It appears like two 2020 Hip Hop MVP candidates are really planning to officially unite in 2021. Atlanta’s Lil Baby and Chicago’s Lil Durk have been teasing an upcoming collaborative mixtape.

Earlier this month, Lil Baby posted on his Instagram Story, “Aye y’all tell @LILDURK let’s drop the tape fucc.” Durk then responded on his IG Story, “If we drop a tape the streets gonna be in a headlock fasho.”

Baby was asked about the potential joint project during a pre-Grammy Awards interview with MTV News that was published on YouTube this week. The conversation included “The Bigger Picture” rapper confirming that a 4PF-OTF alliance is in the works.

“Me and Durk be locked in every night. That’s the new one. We coming. Me and Durk are dropping an album for sure,” stated Lil Baby. He also said that his Lamborghini Boys compilation is coming too following delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the Quality Control Music representative, the Baby-Durk rap duo does not have an official title for their collaborative mixtape yet but it could be named The Voice of the Heroes. Lil Baby also declared, “It’s gonna be one of the craziest albums to ever come out.”

Plus, Baby told MTV News’ Dometi Pongo that he and Lil Durk have more than one album worth of music already recorded. The 2019 BET Awards Best New Artist winner also made it a point to say they will present bars and vibes on the upcoming shared body of work.

Keyshia Cole Announces She’s Retiring After Dropping One Final Album

R&B vocalist Keyshia Cole was one-half of one of the most successful Verzuz matchups to date. Back in January, Cole and fellow songstress, Ashanti, set a new viewership record for the music series.

Over 6 million people tuned in for that friendly clash. Cole even debuted the song “I Don’t Want to Be in Love” during the Instagram/Apple Music livestream.

KC may have presented a new tune for the Verzuz audience two months ago, but it seems like the Oakland native is ready to call it quits from the music business altogether. She expressed that sentiment on Twitter yesterday.

One social media user told Cole, “[You’re] winning right now Keyshia your new single is buzzing up the charts you should be top 20 next week! Stay focused u got this!!” The 39-year-old singer/songwriter responded, “I’m retiring.”

After another online fan said Keyshia Cole needs to drop at least three more projects before stepping away, the Just like You album creator replied, “I’m not lying.” She did reassure her followers that one more body of work is coming in the future.

“I’m already contracted to do so, I wouldn’t do that to @BMG, myself, or my fans. But I’m gonna have to move at my pace with this one. #Album8,” tweeted Cole when someone expressed disappointment over possibly not getting another album from the former reality television star.

Additionally, the BMG Rights Management-affiliated recording artist wrote that she is “contractually obligated” to release one more album. Cole also insisted that she will continue to perform live on tour even after she is done putting out new music.

Keyshia Cole added, “#stimnyHitsAccount RETIREMENT SOUNDS GOOD [face with tears of joy emoji]. This is funny! Hella! Just thought I’d join in on the fun. I’m serious about retirement… [crossed fingers emoji] but this is funny [face with tears of joy emoji].” She later tweeted that her children are the main reason for the forthcoming pullback from making music.

Famous Dex Arrested In LA For Carrying A Concealed Firearm

Earlier this year,  Famous Dex reportedly completed a rehabilitation program for drug addiction. The man born Dexter Gore Jr. even began teasing the release of new weekly music videos following his return to social media.

It appears the Chicago-raised rhymer’s recent positive turnaround hit a snag in Los Angeles, California. Dexter had a run-in with law enforcement this week which led to his arrest.

TMZ reports:

The rapper was riding in the backseat of a car when LAPD pulled it over Tuesday night in North Hollywood for not having a rear license plate. We’re told Dex tried to get out and walk away during the traffic stop, but cops detained him and decided to search the vehicle. It’s unclear what prompted the officers’ search, but during it, our sources say a loaded gun was found under Dex’s seat, so he was arrested for carrying a concealed firearm.

Famous Dex was booked for a felony charge on March 16. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s website, the 27-year-old 300 Entertainment recording artist has a bail set at a total amount of $90,000.
