This morning, Forbes magazine revealed its tenth annual 30 Under 30 list of young entrepreneurs, activists, scientists, and entertainers who are helping to shape the world. Numerous Hip Hop personalities were included among the 600 selections for 2021.
Roddy Ricch (22) was highlighted as a featured honoree for the music section. The award-winning creator of “The Box” single was joined by Murda Beatz (26), Doja Cat (25), Brent Faiyaz (25), Polo G (21), Lil Baby (25), G Herbo (25), London On Da Track (29), Jahaan Sweet (27), Saweetie (26), and others.
“I’ve made more this year than I have ever made in my life – at home,” Ricch told Forbes in reference to most of the world having to alter normal plans throughout 2020 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. “But you can never get too comfortable. I got a million things to do.”
The sports section featured Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons (24). Other athletes to make the latest 30 Under 30 include Natasha Cloud (28), Brandon Copeland (29), DeAndre Hopkins (28), and A’ja Wilson (24). Plus, executives in the sports world were recognized by the business-focused publication.
For the 30 Under 30 list, Forbes also picked individuals that work in entertainment, marketing, media, technology, retail, venture capital, energy, gaming, manufacturing, healthcare, art, and food service. The social media section included YouTuber Marques Brownlee (27) and “Renegade” dance choreographer Jalaiah Harmon (15). Actors Caleb McLaughlin (19) of The New Edition Story and Shahadi Wright Joseph (15) of Us made the final 600.
Previous 30 Under 30 issues covered Drake, Noah “40” Shebib, Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, Frank Ocean, J. Cole, Azealia Banks, Chance The Rapper, Hit-Boy, DJ Mustard, A$AP Rocky, Big Sean, Mike Wil Made-it, MixedByAli, Boi-1da, Metro Boomin, Rae Sremmurd, Schoolboy Q, Fetty Wap, Desiigner, G-Eazy, Tory Lanez, Bryson Tiller, Logic, Lil Yachty, Playboi Carti, Cardi B, Lil Uzi Vert, Migos, Travis Scott, Young Thug, Young M.A, Post Malone, Juice WRLD, Rico Nasty, Russ, 21 Savage, Lil Pump, DaBaby, Lil Nas X, Megan Thee Stallion, Tyler, The Creator, and Tierra Whack.
Travis Scott was already viewed as a music superstar with the success of chart-topping projects such as Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight and Astroworld. Then an unprecedented deal with McDonald’s instantly made the Cactus Jack Records founder a corporate superstar too.
“I couldn’t be more excited to bring the Cactus Jack x McDonald’s collaboration to life,” said Scott in September. “We are bringing together two iconic worlds. Including a charitable component was key for me, and I can’t wait for people to see what we have in store.”
Forbes also reports that Scott is set to collect close to $1 million from a partnership with PlayStation that could end up landing him $20 million or more. He is also said to pull in around $10 million a year from his profitable deal with Nike.
In addition, Scott supposedly grossed around $20 million from his record-breaking, groundbreaking virtual Fortnite concert in April. In total, the 28-year-old entertainer is likely to earn at least $100 million in 2020 through his various alliances with corporations and other revenue sources.
While Travis Scott continues to triumphantly overtake Corporate America, the rapper/producer is still one of the most popular musicians in the world. Scott has not released an official studio LP since 2018’s Astroworld, but he still managed to score two #1 singles in 2020.
This week, Megan Thee Stallion found out her debut studio LP, Good News, opened at #2 on the Billboard 200 chart with 100,500 first-week units. The native Texan found success on the Hot 100 singles chart as well.
Seven records off Good News made their way onto the latest Hot 100. Currently, “Body” is Megan’s highest-charting song at #12. The Lil Ju-produced track also sits atop Billboard‘s Streaming Songs, R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs, and Rap Streaming Songs charts.
“Don’t Stop” featuring Young Thug (#62), “Cry Baby” featuring DaBaby (#71), “Girls In The Hood” (#80), “Shots Fired” (#82), “Do It On The Tip” featuring City Girls (#92), and “Circles” (#94) made the latest rankings of the most popular songs in America. Meg also holds the #23 spot as a feature on Cardi B’s former #1 record “WAP.”
Besides the “WAP” collaboration with Cardi, Megan Thee Stallion scored another Number One on the Hot 100 chart this year with “Savage Remix” featuring Beyoncé. The self-described Houston Hottie also earned a Top 40 entry in 2020 with “B.I.T.C.H.” off her Suga EP.
As the year comes down to its final days, streaming services and media outlets will begin releasing their annual end-of-the-year lists. For example, Spotify unveiled the top artists, albums, songs, podcasts, and playlists on the platform.
The year’s most popular Spotify editorial playlist is Today’s Top Hits with more than 27 million followers. Puerto Rican performer Bad Bunny was named Spotify’s most-streamed global artist of 2020. He was followed by Drake, J Balvin, Juice WRLD, and The Weeknd. Bad Bunny also had the most-streamed global album (YHLQMDLG).
The Weeknd’s After Hours was the second-most streamed album. His smash record “Blinding Lights” led the list of most-streamed songs globally. Roddy Ricch’s “The Box” came in third which was followed by SAINt JHN and Imanbek’s “Roses – Imanbek Remix” at #4.
Billie Eilish was Spotify’s most-streamed global female artist for the year. The rest of the top five included Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa, and Halsey. Dua Lipa’s Future Nostalgia was the fifth most-streamed album around the world.
When it comes to streaming totals in the United States, Hip Hop acts controlled the top three spots on the list of most-streamed artists. Juice WRLD, Drake, Lil Uzi Vert, Post Malone, and Taylor Swift topped that tally. Megan Thee Stallion was the fifth most-streamed female artist in America.
The U.S. Most Streamed Songs list was dominated by rappers. “The Box” by Roddy Ricch, “Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd, “Blueberry Faygo” by Lil Mosey, “ROCKSTAR” by DaBaby featuring Roddy Ricch, and “Life Is Good” by Future featuring Drake out-streamed every other track.
When it comes to Spotify’s U.S. Most Streamed Albums list, once again Hip Hop reigned supreme. The top five consists of Legends Never Die by Juice WRLD, Eternal Atake (Deluxe) – LUV vs. The World 2 by Lil Uzi Vert, Hollywood’s Bleeding by Post Malone, After Hours by The Weeknd, and Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial by Roddy Ricch.

Back in 2017, Everyday Struggle debuted on YouTube and quickly became one of the most talked-about shows on the internet. The Hip Hop-centered digital series is now set to come to an end this month.
Everyday Struggle moderator Nadeska Alexis announced the final episode will air on December 17. On Monday’s show, she said, “For those of you who have been rocking with us since April 2017, you know it’s been a very, very eventful ride. We’ve had a lot of highs, a lot of lows, and I think this is really the end of an era.”
Current co-hosts Wayno and DJ Akademiks also confirmed the three panelists were set to move on from the program in two weeks. Ak stated, “I think we all have other steps and other levels to get to, but I think it was definitely necessary for the fans to have a proper sendoff.”
It’s the End of an Era 😢😢
But we’re still rocking out with y’all till Dec. 17!!!
When Everyday Struggle first began three years ago, emcee-turned-podcaster Joe Budden sat across from Akademiks as the second commentator before leaving after the first season. Controversial former Hot 97 radio host Troi “Star” Torian replaced Budden for a short stint in 2018. Additionally, DJ Whoo Kid served as a guest host.
During its run on the Complex and Complex News channels, Everyday Struggle produced several viral moments. Perhaps the most famous clip happened during the 2017 BET Awards when the ES crew nearly got into a physical altercation with the Migos and their entourage.
There have also been countless celebrity interviews that took place on Everyday Struggle. People such as Lil Yachty, Vic Mensa, SZA, Soulja Boy, Gucci Mane, Russ, and Amber Rose became trending topics on social media as a result of their conversations on the show.
What in the world is going on!?! 2020 has been one of the strangest years in recent memory and, maybe for us, in our lifetime. Now, there is a new contender for a strange situation of the year, and that award goes to DJ Funkmaster Flex! Flex, posted on Instagram a video of himself getting liposuction.
That’s right! The guy that breaks countless rappers, screams on people like T.I., Jay-Z and Tupac Shakur, drops bombs on breaking music, did the classic album from the 90s about The Tunnel, got liposuction!!
Flex, without question, is one of the most legendary DJ’s ever in Hip-Hop history. But we have to call a s#### a s#### on this one! He got liposuction and is looking really, really, really thin. I hope that he is in good health and does not have a disorder of some sort. Because he never was all that fat, in recent times at least. I’ve seen him here and there and he looks OK. I wonder what prompted him to get liposuction and then make it so public.
In the Instagram post, he did plant the doctor that gave him the procedure so I am pretty sure that he made a deal with the doctor for a reduction in the fee. He may have even gotten it free! And Hip-Hop, we aren’t really too big on the guys getting liposuction, but that’s his business. I guess, now it’s the internet’s business since he made it public. And yes, people are going in!
According to reports, the budding Drill rapper was out with his grandmother when he got into an argument with a man, who has been identified as Tyrece Fuller, 21, of Tavy Close, Lambeth.
Fuller has been charged with murder and possession of a knife for the brutal slaying and is due in court on December 2nd.
21 Savage lamented on Instagram during a somber tribute to his brother, which read: “can’t believe somebody took you baby bro I know I took my anger out on you I wish I could take that s### back.”
Snoop Dogg was the surprise highlight of the Roy Jones and Mike Tyson fight on Saturday after Lil Wayne backed out of his planned performance due to “unforeseeable circumstances.”
Wayne was set to perform alongside Wiz Khalifa, French Montana and YG and even teased his slot at the event in Los Angeles, California 24 hours before, admitting he was “stoked to be performing on this historic night”.
However, fans were quick to notice a change in the line-up as he was replaced by SAINt JHN and Snoop Dogg, with the “Lollipop” star confirming his absence on Twitter.
All was soon forgiven, though, as Snoop scored a knockout with his commentary during the highly-anticipated boxing match, which ended in a draw.
“This s### like two of my uncles fighting at the barbecue,” Snoop told viewers of the pay-per-view event, mockingly adding in a high-pitched voice, “Get your uncle out of it, get him out!”
“‘Meet me in the backyard, I’m tired of this s###’,” Snoop added, as he openly rooted for Jones during the bout.
He also provided commentary for the short undercard fight between former NBA (National Basketball Association) player Nate Robinson, 36, and YouTube star Jake Paul, 23, which ended with a brutal second-round knockout by Paul.
Snoop’s commentary was widely praised on social medial, with stars including LeBron James complimenting the rapper on his voiceover skills.
Kelis is celebrating becoming a ‘girl-mom’ two months after welcoming a baby daughter.
The “Milkshake” hitmaker posted a sweet photo of her and her daughter’s hands on Instagram on Friday and admitted she’s overwhelmed by motherhood the third time round after previously giving birth to two boys.
“It’s funny, I have been a boy mom for so long and I was completely content with super hero’s weapons and war games,” she wrote. “I would have been thrilled to have another baby boy. But now that she’s here, I looked down at her little hand on mine and I realized I had been preparing for her my whole life.
“Having a girl is somehow totally different. And don’t get me wrong, we will still have super hero’s , weapons and war games with baby G too. But we will do it wearing diamonds, rubies and pearls!!!!!! Happy freedom Friday guys!!!!”
Kelis, who revealed she had given birth in an Instagram video on September 11th, has yet to publicly name her daughter.
The cops in Los Angeles are looking for rapper Famous Dex, and he could be in some big trouble.
The police went to Famous Dex’s house in Los Angeles, after being called to the residence over a domestic violence claim. According to reports, Dex was involved in an argument with his ex-girlfriend, which turned physical.
The cops who arrived on the scene were aware of several social media posts Famous Dex made over the weekend, showcasing himself smoking weed while holding a Tec-9 semi-automatic weapon.
A S.W.A.T team was called in for backup, and they busted into Famous Dex’s house, but soon realized the rap star was not in the residence. According to reports, the police are looking for him to question Famous Dex over the domestic violence claims.
Over the weekend, it appeared Famous Dex was heading for trouble and fellow rapper NLE Choppa made his opinion known when he called out the rapper’s label, 300 Ent.

According to NLE Choppa, Famous Dex has become addicted to drugs and he urged honcho’s at the imprint to do something about it.
“I stopped when I stopped. I mean, nothing’s easy when you’re doing something for so long, especially when it becomes a habit,” Famous Dex told AllHipHop.com. “You’re not holding science, I’m not a fiend for it. You are who you hang around, I’m around the right people who are telling me that’s not the right thing to do.”
Cardi B can’t believe her husband Offset has such a massive shoe collection.
Cardi offloaded on her Migos star spouse for his extraordinary sneaker collection online, admitting she is astounded by the volume of footwear in his closet.
“This is ridiculous,” Cardi gushed in footage on her Instagram Stories as she showed off his shoe stash.
“Guys, when I tell you this man owns, like, 3,000 pairs of shoes. 3,200 pairs of shoes. And I think I own, like, 500 shoes. This man got so much f###### sneakers it’s not even funny,” she said.
Offset, who shares two-year-old daughter Kulture with Cardi, went on to explain to the camera that what is shown in the footage isn’t even half of his entire assortment of shoes.
Following his passing, Kobe was due to be inducted into the Hall of Fame in August, before the event was delayed due to the coronavirus crisis.
The ceremony will now take place over the weekend of May 13th-15th.
Kobe, Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett were announced in April to be being inducted this year, in their first year as finalists, alongside Kim Mulkey, Rudy Tomjanovich, Eddie Sutton – who passed away in May – and Barbara Stevens, among others.
Former FIBA (International Basketball Federation) Secretary-General Patrick Baumann was chosen for induction this year by the international committee.
Nowadays more than ever, we’re living in a digital and social media world. Insert Tillavision, who describes himself as an artist, first and foremost. The digital animator creates immersive experiences, ranging from 3D animations and virtual websites to augmented reality experiences and music, sometimes all of those together.
This past year, the Cleveland, Ohio native has been able to work with artists he’s wanted to work with his entire life. He states, “Not just one or two, but dozens, really. Every week, I’ve been working with a different GOAT, whether that’s Nas, Busta Rhymes, Drake, DJ Khaled, Patrick Mahomes, all these different people. Just this past week I dropped French Montana content and Fresh Prince Bape collab back to back.”
Tilla’s proudest moment to date he reveals was working with DJ Khaled, relating directly to his motto We The Best! Having done the visualizers for “GREECE” and “POPSTAR” featuring Drake, what other cosign do you need? Another vastly proud moment arrives in Cardi B’s “WAP” lyric video, just one layer in his vastly impressive resume.
AllHipHop: Talk about your newest venture with 360 Virtual websites. What are they? Who have you made them for?
Tillavision: The virtual websites is a way to differentiate myself. A lot of people when they see my past work, they think of me as a 3D animation artist. I like to keep moving. That’s one thing Pablo Picasso did. I studied a lot of the great artists in history. By the time you thought you caught up with what Pablo’s working on, he’s already working on the next thing. He was creating Cubism, jumping into Cubist sculptures. I wanted to do the same thing, where oh, you thought that I just do 3D animation? No, I’m doing websites now. Not regular websites, they’re fully immersive.
For Busta Rhymes, we created what we called a Busta Bunker, which is a virtual museum of all of Busta’s iconic moments under one roof. One of my favorite aspects is we created virtual video sets. All of his iconic music videos you instantly recognize like “What’s It Gonna Be?!” or “Gimme Some More,” we created those in 3D completely in 360 degrees. I was able to merge the 3D animation and music video stuff I do with immersive virtual reality websites. We’re adding that extra layer of creativity on top of something that could be very normal like a music video or a website. We want to take it to the next level.
AllHipHop: What’s your favorite project you’ve worked on?
Tillavision: So far, this is something fairly new in that not everybody has one of these VR, 360 websites. There’s only really a handful of it I’ve worked on. Juice WRLD was the first. We made the Juice WRLD Garden, then we made the Trippie Redd Pegasus Library, for his new album. We made the biggest and most ambitious virtual reality site to date: the Busta Rhymes Bunker, which is a 5-level, 12-room–virtual museum of Busta’s works. Definitely my proudest achievement in website creation.
AllHipHop: How’d you link with Busta Rhymes?
Tillavision: That DJ Khaled cosign goes a long way. Once Khaled says We The Best and you’ve got that stamp, your reputation grows. Word is getting out around the industry that I do quality work, that I’m going to bring something new to the table that’s engaging. One rule in this business is ‘do good work, and do a lot of it.’ It’s about creating a body of work and letting the streets talk, then making sure you answer your phone when they come calling.
AllHipHop: What makes this different from any other website?
Tillavision: It adds a level of physical immersion, there’s a couple different ways you can experience the website. If you’re on a desktop or your iPad, you can use your finger to look around the room in 360 degrees. If you’re on a mobile phone, you’ll physically move in place to look left, look right, as if you’re in a physical space. Right there, you’re appealing to another one of the human senses of physical movement, as opposed to staring at a scrolling screen. One thing that really makes it stand out is the participation you have to take part in.
The environments we create are no different from the physical world. I’m building an explorable world that the only difference is the physical aspect, but it’s a virtual physical space. When you’re jumping between the 3 different floors in the Busta Rhymes Bunker, we had to architecturally build a 5-floor building, almost as if it were a pitch for an actual museum that we’d build. The sheer scope of that sets it apart from other websites. We’ve been building mini-Disneylands, virtual theme parks except replace Mickey Mouse with your favorite rapper. We’re building these virtual worlds around artists. The fact we can expand those worlds similar to a theme park how they add the new Star Wars section, well that’s Busta Rhymes’ new album. The Bunker can expand with dedicated rooms as new music comes.
AllHipHop: What’s your favorite part of the Busta museum?
Tillavision: The trophy room, which is the 5th level. It’s the deepest level of the Bunker. That’s where you see all of Busta’s iconic chains in a display case, which is always cool. You feel like you’re in the Batcave, you’re seeing Batman’s uniform and all of his armor. Seeing Busta’s chains laid out in the displays is super dope. When you enter the studio on the same floor, we put over 60 Platinum records on the wall, of features that he’s done in the past. Seeing the work on the wall, all in front, and you see all these features Busta has, it hits you just what an impact Busta has had on the game and his consistency and delivery. Sometimes you have to gather all that stuff up and put it under one roof to realize the body of work. That’s really the goal of those websites: let’s get it all under one roof!.
AllHipHop: How did you link with French for his new campaign?
Tillavision: The Busta Rhymes virtual site was a great success, Busta loved it. I want to continue building out these virtual spaces for other artists. I’ve been working on the French Montana rollout for his new Coke Boys 5 album. It‘s really been the perfect setup, he showed me his album artwork and it showed all the featured artists on the front cover. They’re in this cartoon world, so we dubbed that Coke World. We’re building out Coke World, which to me is a nod to the 90’s Cool World with Brad Pitt. Replace Brad Pitt with French Montana, and we have Coke World. We’re going to explore Coke World in a virtual 360 environment similar to the Busta Bunker. Hopefully I can provide more examples to see what’s possible with these virtual sites and virtual worlds we can build.
AllHipHop: What’s been your favorite part about working on the CB5 campaign?
Tillavision: French is somebody who’s hands-on with every aspect, at least in my experience. If I’ve had a thought or he’s had a thought, I talk directly with him. An artist with as big an impact as French has had — billions of streams, huge records — it’s always exciting working with artists who have an impact on Hip Hop culture. French is one of those guys. What French wanted to do from the jump, he challenged me to incorporate live-action footage with my animated elements. Which was different, not all artists want to do that. Sometimes they say “yo, give me what you gave the last guy.” French said “no, we have to do something that’ll top what you’ve done for anybody.”
AllHipHop: What’s next for you?
Tillavision: Continuing to challenge myself, I’m really excited. I just released 3 Instagram filters: one with Swae Lee, one with Mulatto, one with Justin Laboy. I have a cryptoart collab that is really exciting in the works.. Of course new animations! I’m helping people develop their digital avatar personas. 2021 is about creating a new type of experience that will be the new wave, that’s my goal.
Cardi B has apologized after sparking backlash by hosting dinner for nearly 40 people on Thanksgiving.
The “WAP” star took to Twitter to reveal she had hosted “12 kids and 25 adults over the holidays,” adding: “It was lit!”
Her tweet caused controversy among her followers on the social media site, due to the fact that she held the bash during the coronavirus pandemic, with one person writing: “I can promise you it’s not worth it to everyone else who is affected by your poor choices aka the healthcare workers who you will run to when you’re sick.”
Another wrote: “Sis I love you but anyone behaving this way during a pandemic deserves to be dragged.”
Sorry my bad wasn’t trying to make nobody feel bad.I just had my family in my home for the first time and it felt so good & uplifted me .I spent soo much money getting every1 tested but it felt worth it.I wasnt trying to offend no1. https://t.co/gjGo1JAvnY
Following the backlash, Cardi returned to Twitter to apologize, writing: “Sorry my bad wasn’t trying to make nobody feel bad.I just had my family in my home for the first time and it felt so good & uplifted me.
“I spent soo much money getting every1 tested but it felt worth it. I wasnt trying to offend no1.”
She later added: “People be trying tooo hard to be offended.I wonder how they survive the real world (laughing crying emoji).”

Rapper Boosie Badazz assured friends and fans he’s well on the way to recovering from surgeries after a shooting injury by showing up to a club date on Thanksgiving night.
He hosted a Thanksgiving Bash at the Exquis Event Center in Charleston, South Carolina from a wheelchair.
The last time I checked we were in a whole pandemic out here. Reginae went out into the world and celebrated her 22nd birthday out in Atlanta and there was no regard for COVID-19 whatsoever. Lil Wayne, Toya, 2Chainz, Juvenile and a whole bunch of other people were in the party just carrying on with no masks and no social distancing whatsoever.
At this point, I don’t know what to think because people simply don’t get it! And then we see why 70% of all coronavirus cases are afflicting black people. We can’t sit and talk about not wanting to take vaccines…AND not do what we’re supposed to do. Needless to say, the Internet went wild and now Reginae is a trending topic on social platforms. I’m thinking, she just wanted to show off her new implants and did so all last night, right around her father and mother.
I understand I am old school and so therefore that would never be something that I could personally do. But I just know that these people were fully aware of the coronavirus epidemic and continue to party like it was 1999. What happens next? Some of these people are going to go out into the world already sick and spread it to more people, they will get sick, and more people will get sick, and then they will end up in the hospital and infect people like doctors and nurses who we actually need to fight this pandemic.
Let me get off my soapbox and just congratulate Reginae for a happy 22nd birthday.

Rapper Rick Ross is jumping into the healthcare business through a new deal with a healthcare provider called Jetdoc in a new strategic partnership.
Rick Ross, who is now a spokesperson, advisor, and investor in Jetdoc, is going to help his fans connect to licensed healthcare professionals in a matter of minutes.
“I damn near lost my life on two or three different occasions, so to me staying alive is more important,” Rick Ross told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “I got people that love me and depend on me. When I woke up and got out in the hospital, when I thought about, you know, the closest ones next to me, my best friends, my relatives yo, this is the answer. Jetdoc, is that this is the only way to go.”
Rozay will be appearing in new digital and television ads to educate consumers about Jetdoc’s new platform.
“As an active artist and businessman, I often don’t have time to see a doctor. I’d make excuses and prioritize my healthcare second to my hustle,” Rick Ross continued.
“Jetdoc is a convenient and affordable alternative to going into a doctor’s office,” Rick Ross continued. “To me, it’s really the future of healthcare. I wanted to be a part of empowering people to take control of their health regardless of their circumstances. Jetdoc puts the power of managing our health into our own hands.”
Jetdoc’s platform allows users to set up a virtual doctor appointment with speed and ease at a fraction of the cost of a traditional visit to preventive and urgent care healthcare professionals.
According to Jetdoc CEO Tommy Duncan, he launched his platform after he had a stroke at the age of 30. And despite working in the healthcare business, he couldn’t find access to the right doctors to help him with his recovery.
“I still had difficulty in getting proper care. So with Jetdoc, we created a tool that empowers everyone to take control and affordably manage their own healthcare,” Tommy Duncan explained. “Adding Rick Ross to the team made perfect sense because he immediately understood our mission and he embodies the spirit of both ownership in both health and business.”
Jetdoc users can visit an urgent healthcare professional for just $20 bucks for a one-time virtual urgent care visit, while $10 will get you a monthly membership.
Jetdoc members will also get a free Jetdoc DiscountRx Card for up to 85% off retail prices for prescription medication at most major retailer pharmacies.
Jetdoc is currently in beta mode and is servicing the patients in Florida, while a nationwide rollout is slated for 2021.
Def Jam is entering the U.K. market in a big way- by signing one of the country’s best-known rap stars.
Last week, the storied label announced the launch of the new 0207 Def Jam imprint, and this week the company revealed they snagged Stormzy as its flagship artist.
The name 0207 Def Jam is inspired by a telephone code in Stormzy’s hometown of London, where he has made a name for himself as one of the best rapper’s, since his debut in X.
The label is headed up by Ghanaian London-born twin brothers, Alec and Alex Boateng as co-Presidents.
Alex spent 10 years at Universal Music UK, as the president of Island Records’ first Urban Division which has played an instrumental role in breaking artists like Drake, Tiwa Savage, Buju Banton, Nav, Giggs, Unknown T, Ray BLK, M Huncho, Tekno and Miraa May in the UK.
His brother came to 0207 Def Jam after seven years at Warner Music, where he served as co-head of A&R at Atlantic, where he oversaw the rise of Stormzy, Burna Boy, WSTRN, Rita Ora and others.
“Music, art and artists really, really matter. I’m super excited to play a leadership role in this brilliant new space we’re creating for amazing music and talent to live and evolve. A space which will support both our teams and our artists to be the best version of themselves,” explained Alec Boateng, co-President of 0207 Def Jam.
Stormzy is currently working on his first batch of new music for 0207 Def Jam.
The 2020 United States presidential race is finally over, and national political news has slowly begun to fall back from the forefront of the American zeitgeist. As Donald Trump counts down his final days in the White House and Joe Biden prepares to take the oath of office, former President Barack Obama is currently on a major press run to promote his A Promised Land memoir.

While speaking with Complex’s 360 with Speedy Morman, Obama was asked if Aubrey Drake Graham has his stamp of approval to portray him in a biographical film about the Hawaii-born politician. It appears Obama and his daughters are on board with Drake taking on that role.
“I will say this, Drake seems to be able to do anything he wants. That is a talented, talented brother. So, if the time comes and he’s ready…” said Obama. The ex-POTUS added, “Drake has, more importantly, my household’s stamp of approval. I suspect Malia and Sasha would be just fine with it.”
Drake once expressed interest in wanting to act in a biopic as Obama. In 2010, the Canadian actor/musician was quoted saying, “I hope somebody makes a movie about Obama’s life soon because I could play him. That’s the goal [laughs]. I watch all the addresses. Anytime I see him on TV, I don’t change the channel, I definitely pay attention and listen to the inflections of his voice.”
Barack Obama and Aubrey Graham have a compelling public history. During a 2016 conversation with YouTube personality Adande “Swoozie” Thorne, Obama was questioned on who he thought would win a rap battle between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. The Commander in Chief picked K. Dot.
Drake appeared to respond to the president selecting the Top Dawg Entertainment emcee over him in that interview. On “Summer Sixteen,” the OVO superstar rapped, “Tell Obama that my verses are just like the whips that he in – they bulletproof.” That pre-Views track also contained subliminal bars directed at Drizzy’s then-rivals Meek Mill and Tory Lanez.
Obama recently curated “A Promised Land Official Playlist” for Spotify. The collection of tunes hosts songs by Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Eminem, Aretha Franklin, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, John Coltrane, Sade, Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, U2, and more legendary acts. The 59-year-old Democrat tweeted, “Music has always played an important role in my life – and that was especially true during my presidency.”
On November 18, the BET network aired the two-hour special titled Smoke: Marijuana + Black America. Hip Hop icon/businessman Nasir “Nas” Jones executive produced and narrated the documentary.
Nas is also lending his voice to a marijuana legalization public service announcement in conjunction with the technology company Weedmaps. The 30-second spot advocates for fair access to the growing cannabis market and references the late civil rights leader John Lewis’s call for activists to get into “good trouble” in order to spark change.
“We’re hoping to introduce a new audience to Weedmaps as well as bring attention to some of the important conversations happening around cannabis today,” said Juanjo Feijoo, Chief Marketing Officer at Weedmaps. “This is just one of many steps we are proactively taking to break down stigmas, promote social equity, and encourage all to join us in the fight for change.”
Weedmaps’ “The Fighters for Change” PSA aired during the Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr boxing event on November 28. The fight, which streamed live on the Triller platform, was produced by Tyson’s Legends Only League along with Don Mischer Productions and Anchor Street Collective.
“I’m a proud advocate for cannabis legalization so this partnership with Weedmaps is particularly close to my heart,” stated Mike Tyson. “This is a significant moment for the cannabis industry, and I am committed to doing my part to fight for change.”
