Pardison Fontaine Praises Cardi B As Internet Pioneer

Cardi B stamped her name as a force in the music industry with multiple history-making accomplishments. Pardison Fontaine also believes his longtime collaborator made an unforgettable mark on culture in other ways. In a recent interview with 360 With Speedy, the host asked the New York-bred rapper/songwriter about Cardi B.

“I’ve heard you say that she’s a marketing genius,” Morman recalled. Fontaine responded, “Cardi’s a genius, period, on so many levels. I say this all the time, she would’ve been a star no matter what she chose to do.

“She really pioneered a lot of the energy that you see on the internet right now. She’s the first person to grab her phone and really start talking s### into it, unapologetically herself.”

Before becoming a Grammy-winning recording artist, Cardi B gained a following on Vine and Instagram. She eventually parlayed that social media popularity into a stint on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: New York reality series.

Cardi then found initial success as a rapper with 2017’s “Bodak Yellow.” The Bronx-raised entertainer’s breakout single became the first solo song by a female rapper to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart since 1998.

Following the three-week reign of “Bodak Yellow” atop the Hot 100, Cardi also reached No. 1 with “Girls Like You,” “I Like It,” “WAP” and “Up.” The 31-year-old hitmaker holds the Billboard records for most No. 1 songs and most total weeks at No. 1 by a female rap act.

Fontaine co-wrote “Bodak Yellow,” “I Like It,” “WAP” and “Up.” He also teamed with Cardi B for his own “Backin’ It Up” single in 2018. That platinum-certified collaboration is Fontaine’s highest-charting entry on the Hot 100.

Lil Durk Deactivates His Instagram Page: “See Y’all Next Year”

Lil Durk’s Instagram followers will be unable to keep up with the Hip-Hop artist on the social media app. The 31-year-old Only The Family crew leader shut down his IG page.

It is not clear what sparked Lil Durk’s decision to leave Instagram this time. While his fans on the Meta-owned platform questioned the move, Durk posted a message on his X (formerly Twitter) account.

“See y’all next year Smurk back on his pain s### [mending heart emoji]… 2024,” Lil Durk tweeted on Tuesday (December 20). That post collected over 1,000 reposts and 10,000 likes.

Previously, Durk deactivated his Instagram page in July 2022. Two months later, he closed his page again after rumors of a breakup with India Royale spread across the internet.

Lil Durk had an impressive 2023. He released his eighth studio LP, Almost Healed, on May 26. That 21-track project hosted the Billboard Hot 100 Top 5 song “All My Life” featuring J. Cole.

“All My Life” became the highest-charting lead single of Durk’s career, peaking at No. 2 on the Hot 100. Almost Healed debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 album chart by earning 125,000 first-week units.

Lil Durk closed out the year by appearing on “Vultures” by Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign. The Chicago native heads into 2024 with a Grammy Award nomination for “All My Life” (Best Melodic Rap Performance).

How To Record & Master Your Own Hip-Hop Music: 7 Essential Tips

Step into the studio—the world where beats meet rhythm and lyrics weave through the silence. Recording and mastering your own hip hop music is an art form, a personal journey from the echoes of your mind to the speakers resonating with your soul’s signature sound

With each carefully crafted tip, you’re not just jamming tunes but constructing audibles that could one day echo down streets and across cyber streams. From choosing gear to laying down bars, let’s delve into crafting tracks that stand out in the infinite mixtape of life.

7 Tips for Recording and Mastering Your Own Hip Hop Music

Dive into the world of hip hop production with these 7 tips for recording and mastering your tracks. Enhance your sound, from laying down beats to achieving that polished final master.

1. Craft Your Unique Sound

Finding your own sound is about drawing from your influences, sure, but also daring to be different. Experiment with beats, flip samples on their head, and play with flows till you find what feels authentic to you. Sometimes, those off-the-wall ideas are gold waiting to be discovered.

This journey of sonic self-discovery never really ends. Mix in life experiences, get inspiration from other artists with unique sounds, and find your own story in the kick drums and snares.

2. Invest in Quality Equipment

Think of your studio gear like the tools of a master craftsman. You want them sturdy, reliable, and precise. You don’t need to go for broke, but investing in a solid microphone, interface, and headphones can mean the difference between an amateurish track and that professional sound.

Just remember that quality equipment is the bedrock on which your sonic empire stands. Take the time to research and listen to user reviews before you make a final purchasing decision.

3. Use Mastering Software

When it’s time to put the final touches on your hip hop tracks, mastering software becomes an indispensable ally. These tools can elevate the clarity, volume, and balance of your music.

Say you opt for Mixea’s mastering software. This platform offers an intuitive interface coupled with a suite of powerful features designed to enhance dynamics and achieve radio-ready sound. It enables you to execute precise adjustments that bring your vision for each track to life.

4. Acoustic Treatment for Your Space

When it comes to laying down tracks, your room’s vibe should be less coffee shop chaos, more serene studio. Enter acoustic treatment: it’s the unsung hero that banishes echoes. However, treating a room isn’t just slapping foam on walls. You need to place panels strategically.

Start simple—a few well-placed panels can work wonders. But true mastery is a tailored suit: measure your space, seek out those sonic sweet spots, and treat accordingly.

5. Focus on Clean Recording Takes

It’s essential to nail your performance with minimal background noise and no distortion. This means checking levels well before you hit a record and keeping them in the safe zone.

Dedicate time to getting those takes pristine—the efforts pay off when mixing and mastering roll around. A solid take is the canvas for your masterpiece. It doesn’t need filters or fancy effects to make an impact. When your raw material shines, the end result reflects that quality.

6. Learn Basic Mixing Techniques

Learning how to EQ, compress, and balance levels is your road map to a mix that doesn’t just sound good at home but bumps right across town, too. Arm yourself with these skills.

Set aside time to practice and refine your talent. There’s art in blending tracks together so they complement rather than compete. You’ll find your mixes become more than layers of sound—they tell a story, evoke a mood, and ultimately carry your unique signature as an artist.

7. Align Beats Precisely

Precision is key. Every kick drum and snare hit must be on point. A millisecond off can send your track from head-nodding to head-scratching. It’s about timing that’s crisp and on the beat.

Take time to zoom in on those waveforms. Nudge them like a meticulous puzzle until the picture is just right. This isn’t about rushing—it’s surgical, a craft of patience and detail. When every element aligns just so, your tracks march in an army of rhythm to the heart of your listeners.

In Conclusion…

And there you have it, the roadmap to capturing your sonic dreams in the concrete jungle of hip hop. But remember, these tips are just sparks—your passion is the flame. Keep that fire burning, and let determination be your compass as you navigate through beats and bars.

Young Guru Calls Cap On Dame Dash’s Claims Jay-Z “Stole” Other Rappers’ Songs

Dame Dash took time during an interview to talk about his former business partner Jay-Z. A clip of Dash discussing Hov’s alleged behind-the-scenes tactics caught the attention of Young Guru.

“Jay had a strategy of once somebody’s record was hot, jumping on it, and then it would be like it was his record,” Dame Dash stated on The Guads Show podcast. “And that’s f###ed up.”

Dash went on to claim that Jay-Z’s “Can I Get A…” was originally a Ja Rule song. The Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder also asserted that Omillio Sparks had “I Just Wanna Love U (Give It 2 Me)” first.

However, Young Guru—Hov’s longtime audio engineer—took to Twitter (X) to push back on the notion that Jay-Z ripped off songs.

“CAP on this narrative that Jay STEALS songs,” Young Guru posted. “1. Jay got [‘I Just Wanna Love U (Give It 2 Me)’] directly from Pharrell and made the song from scratch. Sparks says a Rick James hook.”

Guru also mentioned Murder Inc. Records CEO Irv Gotti. The Grammy winner added, “2. [‘Can I Get A…’] was Irv’s idea, literally said, ‘Jay get on this record but please keep Ja.’ I love you OG but nah.”

Jay-Z, Beyoncé & Family Tour New York Aboard Private Tour Bus

Jay-Z and Beyoncé did Christmas sightseeing in style earlier this week, renting out a private bus for a tour of New York City.

The Hip-Hop super couple were joined by family and friends on the bus, including daughter Blue Ivy and Hov’s mother, Gloria Carter, as they took in the festive city sights.

Fans captured footage of the famous family on the Tea Around Town pink tour bus. The flowery double-decker bus serves guests a delightful-looking afternoon tea in a vintage setting.

In between treats, Jay-Z and Beyoncé passed by Times Square, Bryant Park and other holiday spots, including Rockefeller Center’s iconic Christmas tree.

Jay-Z And Beyoncé’s New York City tour follows Hov’s lavish birthday celebrations earlier this month at the Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte vineyards in the French wine region of Bordeaux.

According to multiple reports, The Carters rented the vineyard’s entire five-star spa and hotel for the duration of their stay.  Guests enjoyed bottles of rare wines, including bottles of the 1969 vintage to mark the Roc Nation honcho’s birth year.

Photos from the festivities, shared by Roc Nation vice president, Lenny Santiago, show Jay-Z laughing while standing at a candlelit table lined with 1969 Pétrus bottles.

Meanwhile, Beyoncé recently announced an exciting Renaissance movie update. The concert film will soon be hitting theatres in Brazil, Italy, Japan, South Korea, and many other countries, satisfying fans who missed out.

Rihanna Reveals Wardrobe Malfunction Led To Super Bowl Baby Reveal

Rihanna broke the internet earlier this year after revealing her blossoming baby bump during her iconic Super Bowl Halftime Show performance

However, the superstar songstress has now let slip that the viral pregnancy reveal was completely unplanned and was actually a wardrobe snafu caused by her desire to hide her growing belly.

Rihanna spoke about the moments leading up to her Super Bowl performance during the launch event for the Fenty x Puma Creeper Phatty in Los Angeles earlier this week.

“Here’s the thing — I did what I have to do, right?” she explained. “My jumper couldn’t zip up. No one knew I was pregnant — I just told my stylist, ‘Make sure it’s stretchy.’”

However, once she climbed into the red jumpsuit, the zipper wouldn’t fasten all the way up.  It reached the bottom of her bump and refused to budge. “The zip, it just stopped right there,” she added. “So it had to be what it had to be!”

While Rihanna reportedly said her family was complete after welcoming her second child with A$AP Rocky earlier this year, the singer is yearning to hear the pitter-patter of tiny feet again, girl’s feet, that is.

The couple had their first son, RZA, in May 2022 before the arrival of their second boy, Riot Rose, in August.

When E! News asked if there was anything she couldn’t do the music and business mogul quipped, “So far, have daughters. I’m batting at 75 percent for a boy next time. So, we’ll just keep our fingers crossed.”

Dame Dash Takes Credit For “Rapping Jay-Z”: “He Wasn’t Gon’ Do It”

Dame Dash is claiming that the world would never have seen the greatness of Jay-Z if it wasn’t for his persistence in pushing Hov in the early stages of his rap career.

The Roc-A-Fella co-founder opened up about his former partner during a recent episode of The Gauds Show. In a clip of the show, shared by Dame Dash on Instagram Wednesday (December 20), the Hip-Hop mogul explained that he kept championing Jay-Z despite multiple rejections.

“I shopped Jay-Z to every single label,” he explained. “Kevin Liles, all of them. Every single one of them and they all said no. And he becomes one of the greatest rappers alive. Those are the same people that are up under this n#### that said he was too old, rapped too fast, and dressed corny.”

According to Dame Dash, Jay-Z wasn’t unwilling to push his own rap career over hustling. He claimed Hov lacked the business acumen necessary to capitalize in the music industry.

Dame Dash continued, “I learned don’t listen to nobody, because if I listened to them, there would be no Jay-Z. He wasn’t gon’ do it. There would be no rapping Jay-Z if it wasn’t for me 100,000 percent. Because he wasn’t gonna do what I did to make sure he got heard. He was hustling.

“He wasn’t gonna put a record out by himself and create a record company,” Dame insisted before adding, “He could rap but he didn’t know business. I taught him business. How to put a record out yourself. How to leverage your celebrity and put it on a product yourself.”

NLE Choppa Goes “Hood Christmas Caroling” Gets Mistaken For Chris Brown

NLE Choppa delighted a Chris Brown fan who mistakenly thought she met her idol singing Christmas Carols in Walmart.

The “Shotta Flow” hitmaker recently got into the holiday spirit, joining a group of singers for a “hood Christmas caroling” YouTube video. The video shows the group dressed in robes as they make the rounds performing at various stories. They received a standing ovation at Sephora, but the staff at Apple were less than impressed by the singers. Store employees booted NLE Choppa and friends out of the store midway through a performance of his track “S### Me Out.”

Undeterred, the carolers continued to Walmart, where they stunned shoppers with their rendition of Drake, Sexyy Red, and SZA’s####, “Rich Baby Daddy.”

As Choppa began performing some Breezy-like dance moves, one confused employee questioned, “Chris Brown is here?!”

NLE Choppa nods, playing along before the woman yells, “Chris! “I love you, Chris Brown!”

Continuing the façade, NLE Choppa thanks the fan and launches into Chris Brown’s “Wall To Wall.”

How many of y’all ready to get to the toys?” NLE Choppa asked the kids at the event. “I’m trying to make it normal to give back because I know people ain’t in the same position as me. Nicki Minaj Teases Rihanna “Pink Friday 2” Feature, Eyes Taylor Swift Collab

Nicki Minaj may be breaking records with her latest album, Pink Friday 2, but she’s keeping the surprises coming, teasing a possible Rihanna feature.

On Wednesday (December 20), the iconic NYC rapper took to her Instagram Story with a video of RiRi dancing to PF2 cut “FTCU.” Hinting at a new song, she wrote, “The full gag city deluxe ain’t coming out until Queen Rih send her vocals. POW.”

The teaser had Nicki Minaj and Rihanna fans clamoring for their first collab in over a decade. They last appeared on “Fly” in 2011, which appeared on the original Pink Friday album.

Minaj showed love to Rihanna during a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live. When host Andy Cohen asked her to name the “current queen of pop,” she replied, “I don’t know. The people who are in the industry now, they’ve already put in their work, so they’re queens in their own right.”

However, Cohen pressed her, asking the “Barbie Dreams” hitmaker if she had a queen of her own.

“There are two women that I have looked up to in the music industry since I’ve come in it in a different way. Just because of who they are and where I’m from and who I am. Of course,” Nicki Minaj added before naming Beyoncé and Rihanna.

Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj also revealed there is a pop icon she would love to work with in the future. When a fan asked if she would collaborate with Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj replied, “In a heart beat.”

While celebrating her record-breaking vinyl sales, Minaj credited Taylor Swift and her fans, who she said “put in the work.”

“The SAG QUEEN TAYLOR DESERVES!!!! PERIOD!!!!!” she added. “She takes months & years off then comes back with great music & fans who’ll never leave her!!!! The END!!!!!!!”

Nicki Minaj Secures Most No.1 Albums For Female Rapper

Nicki Minaj has become the female rapper with the most chart-topping albums in history.

The rapper’s new album Pink Friday 2 has debuted at No.1 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, launching with 228,000 equivalent album units.

The release is Minaj’s third chart-topping album, following 2010’s Pink Friday and 2012’s Roman Reloaded, which makes her the female rapper with the most No. 1 albums in history and breaks her previous tie with Foxy Brown.

Billboard confirmed Pink Friday 2 also had the biggest sales week for any album released by a female rapper so far in the 2020s.

The new album features contributions from Drake, Lil Wayne, J. Cole, Future, Murda Beatz, and Billie Eilish’s brother and collaborator, Finneas.

On December 11, the star announced a world tour in support of Pink Friday 2, which will see Nicki Minaj perform shows in the U.S., Europe, and the UK.

Rihanna Says She’s Just An “Extra” In Home Life With A$AP Rocky After Having Children

Rihanna has opened up about the family dynamic she and A$AP Rocky have developed since welcoming their two children into their home—and apparently, she’s not at the focus.

During the launch event for the Fenty x Puma Creeper Phatty on Monday (December 18), RiRi spoke to Access Hollywood about her newfound life in motherhood. While describing how she began to love Rocky “differently” as he ventured into fatherhood, Rihanna briefly remarked on the bond they share with their two children.

“I loved him differently as a dad,” RiRi said in part. “This is major, major-like; it’s a turn-on. It’s just like, ‘Wow! What a leader, what a great, patient, loving [dad].'”

Rihanna continued, explaining that her main character energy fades in her home life with Rocky and the kids considering her children are “obsessed” with their father.

“I’m just a background, I’m an extra,” she said. “Yep! It happens! It doesn’t matter if it’s girls or boys; they love their dad differently, and I love to see it.”

An abundant amount of love must be present in Rihanna and Rocky’s household considering RiRi hasn’t stopped gushing about her new family since the arrival of their children. In August, the Barbadian singer and entrepreneur told People that she felt her family was “complete” after having baby No. 2 with Rocky.

Lil Yachty Roasted For New Militant “Forest Whitaker-Looking” Fit

Lil Yachty’s sense for accessorizing has fallen under fire by his massive following on Twitter (X), who can’t decide whether they love or hate his new green beret-inspired look.

The “Tesla” rapper seemingly shared the unassuming selfie with the expectation that users would roast the photo, considering he kicked things off. Shortly tweeting the flick, Lil Boat shared a screenshot of a conversation he and Lil House Phone were having in which it was determined he has a “Musiq Soulchild a## hat” with a legacy as rich as The Chappelle Show.

Immediately following Lil Boat’s remarks, the flood gates opened and users began teeing off on his stoic image.

“This how Forest Whitaker was dressing in the last King of Scotland,” one user wrote while another compared him to actor Jonathan Majors, writing, “Bro went to the Jonathan majors museum of segregation.”

The actor comparisons continued to be a favorite theme throughout the discourse as another user wrote, “Bro dressed like Idris Elba.”

Not even Outkast could outlast the shade being throw as one user targeted Andre Benjamin in their remark, writing, “If u buy the Andre 3000 deluxe flute album it comes with this hat.”

Lizzo Accused Of “Wretched” Behavior By Blaming Sexual Harassment Victims

Lizzo’ and her legal team has filed a motion to dismiss her former wardrobe stylist’s harassment and discrimination lawsuit.

Asha Daniels, who worked in the wardrobe department on Lizzo’s tour earlier this year, filed a lawsuit against the “Juice” singer and her touring team in September for illegal retaliatory termination, racial and sexual harassment, and creating a hostile work environment.

Lizzo’s attorneys filed a motion to dismiss the “meritless and salacious” complaint in the Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday.

In the legal documents, the lawyers claimed the former “disgruntled” employee “failed to perform the work that she was assigned and, eventually, just played hooky and refused to show up for work.”

They alleged Daniels was terminated after less than three weeks of employment for “abandoning her post” on the day of Lizzo’s concert in Paris, France in March.

They argued that the case should also be dismissed because it was filed in the wrong jurisdiction as Daniels “is a New York resident who worked for a Delaware corporation in Europe.”

In response to the dismissal request, Daniels’ lawyer Ron Zambrano said in a statement,

“This motion was expected and is yet another Hail Mary by Lizzo’s team to try to shift blame to the victims, as she has done to the three other plaintiffs who have sued her for similar allegations of harassment, disability discrimination and retaliatory termination.

“Lizzo and her lawyers can continue trying to rationalize her illegal and wretched conduct, but we remain committed to seeking justice for our clients and look forward to our day in court where Lizzo can explain her behavior in a public forum.”

Lizzo was sued for sexual, religious and racial harassment, disability discrimination, weight shaming and creating a hostile work environment by former dancers Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez in August. She has denied the allegations.

Was Gunna & Offset’s Recent Reunion Just A Chance Encounter?

Gunna and Offset appear to have recently joined forces, however it’s unclear what exactly the encounter means in the grand scheme of things.

For starters, was it the powers that be or meticulous planning that brought the pair of Atlanta rappers together recently in Dubai? From the looks of it, it would appear it was somewhat of a combination of both considering they were both booked for appearances at Blu Oasis nightclub.

For the most part, all appeared to be well, despite one awkward video circulating of the pair standing on opposite sides of a room that was giving off this sort of a standoff-ish type. Aside from that, though a candid shot of Gunna pouring Offset a glass of champagne began circulating following the event, no additional details of their encounter hav spilled over to social media. Maybe if Gunna and Offset can let bygones be bygones, Lil Baby and the YSL rapper can possibly patch things up?

Check out the post below for another look at the pair during their recent link up.

Tiffany Haddish Pleads Not Guilty In DUI Case

Tiffany Haddish has pleaded not guilty to the driving under the influence (DUI) charge brought against her by the L.A. District Attorney’s Office.

According to legal documents Tiffany Haddish was arraigned on her DUI charge and she has pleaded not guilty after she was busted behind the wheel in Los Angeles. entered the plea during an arraignment on Wednesday.

Tiffany Haddish was arrested in November after falling asleep behind the wheel of a car while it was stopped in the middle of the road.

Earlier this month she was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a .08% Blood Alcohol Content (BAC).

It is Haddish’s second arrest on suspicion of DUI in two years; in January 2022 she was also found asleep at the wheel in Atlanta, Georgia.

To celebrate her 44th birthday on December 3, the star told her Instagram followers she was ready to start afresh.

“Happy Birthday to me!!!!!” she penned. “I am ready for my next chapter in life. I have more music and Another Book coming and I can’t wait to share with the world all of the work I have been doing for My Family and All my Real Unicorns.”

Can ScHoolboy Q’s Support Of Kanye West Propel His Popularity Forward?

Kanye West may have to add ScHoolboy Q to his upcoming album with Ty Dolla $ign following his recent show of support. During the Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) Christmas toy drive event earlier this week, artists such as LaRussell, SZA, Isaiah Rashad, Ab-Soul and ScHoolboy Q himself took the stage for an energized live performance in the Nickerson Gardens projects. As Q blazed the stage during his set, he appeared to declare his undying allegiance with West despite his controversial exploits and perceived antisemitic episodes.

”I don’t know about y’all but I ain’t cancel Kanye [West] that’s the homie I don’t give a f###,” ScHoolboy Q said. “I f### with Ye.” He then proceeded to rap the entirety of his verse on “THat Part.”

For what it’s worth, Ye definitely did show out and deliver an insane feature verse for ScHoolboy Q—as he does on most occasions when he’s the guest artist. But can the “Man Of The Year” rapper’s support for Kanye West help quell the current public outcry levied against Ye?

We are talking about the same guy who has Kodak Black, Lil Durk, Freddie Gibbs, Ty Dolla $ign and Nicki Minaj (theoretically) on his upcoming Vultures album—yet there’s still conversation brewing about whether the LP will be successful. Big bro literally got into an argument with everyone in the room at the private listening event for his album. Kanye West has crazy “frienemies” right now, and it seems like there are more folks rooting for his downfall than his success at the moment.

Not to mention Ye is already getting flak for the mercy designs for the album, which people believe features symbolism from Nazi Germany. If one of the bigger West Coast rap artists out right now can still co-sign Kanye West, is he really as cooked as everyone says he is?

Young Thug’s Dad Responds Strongly To Lil Baby’s Alleged Gunna Diss

Young Thug’s father, Big Jeff, has responded to the alleged shots Lil Baby has been taking at Gunna as the YSL Rico trial drags on.

During a recent virtual interview, Big Jeff became visibly frustrated when asked about Lil Baby. In addition to explicitly condemning the snitching narrative surrounding Gunna, Big Jeff criticized “bloggers” and other rappers for also spreading misinformation—despite never setting foot in the courtroom.

“He need to shut the f### up cause he don’t know what’s going on,” Big Jeff says in the video below. “He going off a what he heard. Ask Lil Baby has he ever come to a court date. That’s what I want y’all to ask these g###### rappers and these bloggers with this snitch s###.”

He continued calling Lil Baby out for not showing up for Young Thug when it counts the most. “When have y’all went to a court date to support Slime?…Go on their social media pages and say, ‘Why in the f**k haven’t you been to the courthouse to support your dude?’ And I guarantee you won’t get an answer.”

Lil Baby just shared two new singles, “Crazy” and “350.” Fans believe he targeted his “Drip Too Hard” collaborator on the latter with, “Ain’t never say nothin’ ’bout it, n###a/You know you a rat.” The snitching allegations swirling around Gunna have seemingly gotten so bad he’s enlisted 24/7 armed security.

EXCLUSIVE: Don Omar Slaps DJ Envy Associate Cesar Pina With Lawsuit Over ANOTHER Scam

Reggaeton pioneer Don Omar filed a second lawsuit against DJ Envy’s associate Cesar Pina on Tuesday (December 19). According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, Omar sued Pina for using the Puerto Rican artist’s name and image on a website connected to Pina’s house-flipping fraud.

“Defendant misappropriated plaintiff’s name, likeness, identity or persona for use on defendant’s website in order to promote defendant’s house flipping scheme,” Omar’s lawyers wrote. “Defendant is using plaintiff’s name, likeness, identity or persona for commercial purposes without his consent. The use … gives the false impression that plaintiff has endorsed defendant’s business, which he has not, and that plaintiff is a partner in his business, which he is not.”

Omar’s lawyers sent Pina a cease-and-desist letter on December 4. Attorneys threatened Pina with a lawsuit if he did not remove all references to Omar from the website.

“The association of [Omar’s] name with a website involved in criminal activities is per se defamatory and is causing irreparable harm to his reputation and standing in the community,” the letter read. “This is a serious matter that may necessitate further legal action, including claims of misappropriation, violation of the right to publicity, defamation, false light, fraud and number of applicable torts.”

It continued, “You are directed to immediately cease and desist from using [Omar’s] name and/or likeness and cease any reference to him as a ‘business partner’ in any manner from the website and/or through any other form of communication. If you fail to do so, we have been instructed to take immediate legal action against Mr. Pina and all those responsible.”

Omar’s lawyers said they still haven’t received a response from Pina. Attorneys noted Pina “appears to be continuing his unlawful Ponzi scheme and continues to use his website to promote that scheme with the unauthorized use of plaintiff’s name, image and likeness.”

Pina was arrested for running a multimillion-dollar Ponzi scheme in October. Last month, Omar sued Pina for allegedly scamming the reggaeton artist in a real estate deal.

Omar’s latest lawsuit accuses Pina of violation of the right to publicity, unauthorized publication of name or likeness and false endorsement. Omar is seeking $5 million in damages.

Jeezy & Jeannie Mai Battle Over Prenup As Divorce Gets Uglier

Jeezy asked a judge to affirm the terms of a prenup in his ongoing divorce from his estranged wife Jeannie Mai. According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the 46-year-old rapper filed a motion claiming the prenuptial agreement was fair and met all standards for enforcement.

“There is no question that both parties were capable of reading and understanding the terms and provisions of the agreement,” Jeezy’s motion argued. “Both parties are public figures who are no strangers to a contract.”

It continued, “It is indisputable that the prenuptial agreement was not obtained through mistake, misrepresentation or nondisclosure of material facts. Specifically, both parties were vigorously represented by independent counsel in the negotiations.”

Jeezy filed for divorce in September. He released a statement about the split in October.

“The decision to end this chapter in my life was not made impulsively and comes with a heavy heart,” he said. “Despite this, my love and respect for Jeannie remains and the time we spent together holds a cherished place in my heart.”

Jeezy and Mai were married for two years. Mai gave birth to their daughter Monaco in 2022.

Several court filings revealed details of the couple’s divorce proceedings. Mai accused Jeezy of cheating, which allegedly violated the terms of their prenup.

“Wife further shows that the court should enforce Paragraph 8 of the prenuptial agreement regarding infidelity which provides, in pertinent part, that in the event that either party engages in sexual relations, an emotional relationship, or is emotionally or sexually suggestive in communication with a third party via all forms of electronic communications, including but not limited to texting, sexting, FaceTiming, social media and/or direct messages, shall result in a significant financial penalty upon the adulterous party,” her lawyers contended.

A rep for Jeezy denied any infidelity. In another court filing, he claimed Mai was “gatekeeping” their daughter from him. She responded by saying she was only concerned for their child’s safety.
