Bow Wow Says Diddy Checked Him Over Viral Antics: “Stop Doing That Clown Sh*t”

There was a time when Bow Wow was regularly going viral for all the wrong reasons, but the rapper says that all changed thanks to a conversation with Diddy.

During a new interview on Math Hoffa’s My Expert Opinion podcast, Bow Wow addressed his rocky transition from child star to adult actor and rapper. He credits Diddy with opening his eyes to how his actions affected his brand, claiming the Hip-Hop mogul “put everything in perspective for me.”

He acknowledged there was a time “when it seemed cool to diss Bow Wow” and blamed the emergence of internet meme culture. Despite not seeing the humor in some of his most viral moments, Bow Wow said the memes took on a life of their own, but he did little to reverse the public perception. “That’s when it was like okay a lot of this s### is self-inflicted,” he admitted.

However, Bow Wow vowed to make changes after a conversation at Diddy’s house stopped him in his tracks.

According to Bow Wow, he was hanging out with the likes of Snoop Dogg and Nelly at one of Diddy’s pajama parties when the Bad Boy Records boss pulled him aside.

“That n#### told me straight up: ‘Don’t be doing no clown s###. What’s wrong with you?’” Bow Wow recalled Diddy telling him. “N#### you know we don’t associate with no clown s###. You Bow n####, you better understand your brand and get out here and go to work.”

Diddy then told him, “You doing it to yourself,” and advised Bow Wow to “Be quiet, lay low, go to work and see what gon’ happen.”

Bow Wow Accepted Diddy’s Advice

Despite Diddy’s tough love, Bow Wow credits the NYC icon with helping him to turn things around.

“That conversation is what put everything in perspective for me,” he reflected. “Once I had that conversation, I’m like “Damn. I can’t be doing that dumb ass s### cause I’m around the top dogs.’”

If that wasn’t enough, elsewhere during the interview, Bow Wow claims JD showed him a text from Jay-Z that also changed how he perceived himself. Check out the interview below.

6ix9ine Denies Staging Gym Attack For Clout: “I Don’t Need To Get Beat Up To Sell A Record.”

Tekashi 6ix9ine has opened up about his attack last month in a South Florida gym in his first interview since the brutal beating and denies claims that he staged the attack for clout.

Despite suffering extensive injuries during the assault, including fractured ribs and a hemorrhage in his eye, some believe the controversial rapper staged the attack in an effort to boost his music career. Last week, 6ix9ine was in Cuba filming a music video for his new song with Cuban artist, Lenier.

According to 6ix9ine, Lenier wrote the song about a mutual friend over a year ago. He claimed they recorded it months ago, well before he was jumped in the gym. After a “long hiatus from music,” the rapper decided to drop the single a couple of weeks ago.

“I don’t need to get beat up to sell a record,” he said during an interview with NBC6’s Sheli Muñiz.

6ix9ine also revealed that he spent four days in the hospital after the assault and is still recovering. He claims the video for the single includes footage of him in the hospital to show fans that despite hardship, “good times will come.”

6ix9ine: “There’s No Rules” In The Street

Last week authorities confirmed they arrested three men on suspicion of assaulting and robbing the New York native.

6ix9ine believes the assault was “cowardly” and ‘opportunistic” while admitting footage of the incident is hard for him to watch.

“When I look at it, I just see hate,” he said. “Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but does that give me the right to attack you? To ambush you?”

He also described the attack as “calculated,” claiming the assailants arrived ten minutes after him and waited for him to exit the sauna.

“I’m not mad because I know that in the street, there’s no rules,” he added. “I’m lost for words because you can’t blame them. They saw an opportunity and they took it.”

Diddy Confirms $5k Daily Payment To Sting For Using Sample Without Permission

Diddy has confirmed that he is paying a hefty price for sampling The Police on “I’ll Be Missing You,” his 1997 tribute to his late friend Christopher “The Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace.

Sting addressed the issues a few years ago in an interview with the Breakfast Club, saying that Diddy pays him $2,000 daily for sampling his band’s 1983 hit single “Every Breath You Take” in his homage to Biggie.

A clip of the interview resurfaced on Wednesday (Apr. 6) and caught Diddy’s attention. He confirmed that he does indeed pay Sting a daily rate for using the sample. However, according to the Bad Boy Records honcho, it’s not $2,000, but more than double that.

“Nope. 5K a day,” Diddy wrote, retweeting the clip. Despite paying him four figures in royalties a day, Diddy and Sting are on great terms. “Love to my brother @OfficialSting,” he added.

In 2018, Charlamagne Tha God asked Sting to address the rumors that Diddy pays him $2k daily because he only asked for permission to use the sample after releasing “I’ll Be Missing You.”

“Yeah,” Sting replied, confirming the payment before adding, “for the rest of his life.” He also clarified that Diddy asked for permission to use the sample after the song was out. However, like Diddy, Sting has moved on and bears no ill will toward the producer. “We’re very good friends now,” he added. “It was a beautiful version of that song.”

Check out the clip below.

Diddy released the Notorious B.I.G. tribute song back in 1997, months after his murder on Mar. 9 of that year. “I’ll Be Missing You” spent a record-breaking 11 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The track also won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group.

Are Lil Durk And India Getting Back Together?

It hurt us all when Lil Durk and India Royale broke up, never to get back together again. I am happy to reveal, it looks as if they may be getting back together. They have teased on social media that they are, in fact, a couple again.

I am wondering if Durk is able to hold it down when these harlots are pulling up on him. Check this out!

We still do not have a firm confirmation, but it is looking good. We all know Durk stepped out on their union and that lead to the demise of the relationship. Durkio has been begging to get her back since! And she has been rejecting him since. But he loves her! And she clearly loves him. He just had to work really hard to get his boo back.

Somebody said the following and I think…it may be true.

Michael K. Williams’ Drug Dealer Pleads Guilty; Faces 40 Years In Prison

A drug dealer faces up to 40 years in prison for his role in actor Michael K. Williams’ death.

Irvin Cartagena pleaded guilty to one count of conspiring to distribute heroin, fentanyl and fentanyl analogue on Wednesday (April 5). The 39-year-old man dealt the heroin that led to Michael K. Williams’ fatal overdose in 2021.

Cartagena’s conspiracy charge comes with a mandatory minimum of five years in prison. The maximum sentence is 40 years in prison.

“Irvin Cartagena sold fentanyl-laced heroin in broad daylight in New York City, feeding addiction and causing tragedy,” U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said in a statement. “In doing so, he dealt the fatal dose that killed Michael K. Williams. This Office and our law enforcement partners will continue to hold accountable the dealers who push this poison, exploit addiction, and cause senseless death in our community.”

Michael K. Williams passed away in September 2021. He was 54.

Four men, including Cartagena, were arrested in connection to the actor’s death in February 2022. Hector Robles, Luis Cruz and Carlos Macci were charged as members of the fentanyl and heroin conspiracy.

Michael K. Williams received acclaim for playing Omar Little in HBO’s The Wire. His other notable roles included Albert “Chalky” White in Boardwalk Empire and Leonard Pine in Hap and Leonard.

GloRilla Concert Stampede Victim Weighs Lawsuit; Says She Witnessed Sister’s Death

A woman whose sister died at GloRilla’s concert in Rochester, New York may sue over the deadly event.

According to Billboard, Ronisha Huston filed a petition for pre-action discovery on Tuesday (April 4). Huston’s sister Rhondesia Belton was one of the three people who died in the crowd stampede at GloRilla’s show in March.

Huston retained lawyers on claims of personal injury and emotional distress. She sought information from the Main Street Armory, the venue where GloRilla performed in Rochester.

“Petitioner Ronisha Huston and her now deceased sister, Rhondesia Belton, got caught up in the crowd surge,” her attorneys wrote in the filing. “Huston witnessed her sister getting crushed in the stampede.”

Police said the crowd stampede likely stemmed from unfounded fear of gunfire at the Main Street Armory. The venue was the only party named in Huston’s filing. Belton’s sister requested video footage of the GloRilla concert, among other information.

Belton, 33, was the first victim identified by police. Two 35-year-old women named Brandy Miller and Aisha Stephens also passed away from injuries suffered in the crowd stampede.

Last month, GloRilla commented on the tragedy via Twitter. The CMG rapper said she was “devastated and heartbroken” over the deaths.

Jay-Z Stands As Lone Billionaire Rapper After Kanye’s Downward Spiral

Forbes released its annual list of the world’s billionaires, which featured Jay-Z as the only rapper to make the cut.

Jay-Z ranked at No. 1,217 on the list with a net worth of $2.5 billion. Forbes credited Hov’s liquor businesses with helping him double his worth since 2019.

Earlier this year, Jay-Z sold a majority of his stake in D’Usse to Bacardi. The deal settled a legal battle over the cognac brand.

“Growing D’usse over the past decade from an idea to one of the fastest-selling spirits in history has been a blessing,” Jay-Z said. “The next phase of this journey will further cement D’usse’s legacy as one of the world’s most respected brands. I am excited to renew this partnership with Bacardi.”

Kanye West was noticeably absent from Forbes’ lineup of billionaires. The controversial rapper/producer’s net worth plummeted after he lost his Adidas deal in 2022.

Adidas severed ties with Kanye due to his antisemitic remarks. Forbes estimated Ye’s current fortune to be roughly $400 million.

Ye’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian made Forbes’ billionaires list thanks to her $1.2 billion net worth. Jay-Z and Kanye’s “Run This Town” collaborator Rihanna secured a spot in the rankings with her $1.4 billion net worth.

Fall River, MA. Rapper, Sinical Releases the Visual For “It Don’t Hurt Me”.

Sinical – It Don’t Hurt Me (Official Video)

The music video plays through like a mini-documentary of his life, allowing the viewer to live through the eyes of Sinical, past and present. From a young age, his world was plagued by a broken home, where abuse was normalized. After being kicked out of his house as a teenager, Sinical began selling drugs as a means of survival. Throughout the video, he is conflicted by strenuous circumstances and his ability to cope.

As an internal struggle ensues, Sinical begins to question his faith. Knowing that God has been watching the turmoil unfold, he cannot understand why he has not intervened and at times wishes to seek revenge. Admittedly, Sin explains his conundrum by saying, “I couldn’t shut the door on you [God] so I’d leave it ajar”.

Sinical leaves the viewer subliminal hints and messaging. The church is St. Anne’s Parish, which is located one block from where he lived. The two red socks on a backward hat represent the state he was born and grew up in. The number 33 on Sinical’s hoodie and the word Gematria on his sweatpants have a much deeper meaning. Thirty-three symbolizes the age at that Jesus died and Gematria is a coded numerical value assigned to words in scripture.

The end of the video coincides with the beginning. As you see the younger version of himself holding his backpack, you begin to understand the connection. He is walking on the same street, several feet from where Sinical is sitting on the church steps. The path that he chose years ago ultimately leads to this moment in Sinical’s life, which is truly poetry in motion. Watch the official video for “It Don’t Hurt Me”

Tee Grizzley’s Brother Baby Grizzley Sent To Federal Prison Over Gun Charges

According to the Justice Department, rapper Baby Grizzley, the brother of Tee Grizzley, will be going away to federal prison for four years and nine months after being convicted on illegal gun possession charges.

The 25-year-old  was convicted of charges connected to his 2020 case, where the Royal Oak Police pulled over the car he was in.

A release by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives stated, “When police approached the driver’s side window, they noticed two red solo cups in the cup holders near the driver.”

Baby Grizzley, whose real name is Marcellus Wallace, was sitting with a man named Nolan Dasgupta-Francis. The ATF states, “Both told officers that they were drinking and not their driver. produced a partially consumed bottle of ‘Johnny Walker Black’ that he showed the officers.”

Officers asked the men to get out of the vehicle so that it could be searched, and after a while, law enforcement found two fully loaded semiautomatic pistols on the floor where Baby Grizzley was sitting and two additional fully loaded semiautomatic pistols, where his Dasgupta was sitting.

The ATF reports after being detained, Baby Grizzley attempted to bribe the driver with $20,000 and asked him to take ownership of all four guns, using some of the $300,000 in cash he received for signing a record deal.

This did not work.

“This case demonstrates ATF’s core mission to stop violent criminals from illegally possessing firearms.

We will continue to work side by side with our local law enforcement, and U.S. Attorney partners to make our communities safer.” Assistant Special Agent in Charge Craig Kailimai said.

Big brother Tee Grizzley has not publicly spoken out on his brother’s sentence. But in March, he tweeted words of wisdom that could be apropos.

“It’s gone be some bad days and it’s gone be some good days. Be thankful for both 🙏🏾.”

She said she received the degree on Jan. 17, 2023.

Jack Harlow Gets Ready To Testify In Court Regarding Nightclub Fatal Shooting

Rapper Jack Harlow will be going to court soon.

The chart-topper is scheduled to testify about his involvement in a deadly shootout at the Vibes Restaurant and Ultra Lounge on May 1, the eve of the 2021 Kentucky Darby.

A lawsuit, filed in December 2021 by the victim’s family, names the restaurant and lounge and its owner Allen Evans III as defendants, WDRB reports.

According to CBS, Ronnie O’Bannon, the DJ for the “First Class” recording artist, is charged with the murder of one of the bartenders at the establishment.

Kasmira Nash was shot and killed while on the job.

AllHipHop.com reported Harlow took to his Instagram stories after her death to share his sympathies. He wrote:

My heart is broken by the events that occurred over Derby weekend. My heart breaks for Kasmira, her children, and everyone else touched by this tragic death. My heart breaks for my city, a place that’s been through too much pain already. I’ve been in touch with Kasmira’s family during this unimaginably painful time, and I’m grateful to them for keeping the lines of communication open. Nothing can reverse what happened. Too many lives have been changed forever. My life will remain committed to making Louisville a better place.

The lawsuit alleges the Louisville nightclub did not do enough to protect her.

O’Bannon, who is also known by the name Ronnie Lucciano, turned himself in to authorities almost two weeks after the incident. He was indicted on murder charges and one charge of tampering with evidence.

The DJ says he acted in self-defense and shot Nash because she tried to attack him with a champagne bottle. His lawyer said around the time of the indictment, “there is no dispute,” regarding his being attacked and the fact he “defended himself.”

While this might have been self-defense, the DJ is named in another fatal shooting at the Shiverly gentleman’s club the year prior.

On Aug. 31, 2020, he allegedly shot and killed a different individual.

The prosecution made note of this, writing in court notes, “Although charges have not yet been filed in that case, it sets a troubling pattern of Mr. O’Bannon going to nightclubs and leaving someone dead behind.”

Troy Ave, Maino & China Mac Walk Into A Bar…The Jokes Write Themselves!

UPDATE: Somehow Wack100 got in the mix. And Maino is not playing with him. He wants to FIGHT. It seems like Wack has jokes, but Maino is not playing. This all happened on a live hosted by China Mac. I hope these guys don’t do any if this. It sure seems like they might “get down.”

All of this played out in the comments section. Peep:

And then…Maino used a few words we don’t use too much these days. Well, what does Wack do? Something wack! He tags Fox Soul, who hosts Maino’s show, “Maino Presents: Kitchen Talk.” This was seemingly in an effort to get his show dropped. Most people were not cool with this maneuver.

The Old Story Is Below…

Troy Ave and Maino are going back and forth.

Now, this is getting more and more crazy, but this is where we are right now. So, basically Maino “obtained” a chain that is allegedly Troy Ave’s from the night that would eventually land Taxstone in prison for manslaughter. Also, Troy Ave’s bodyguard dead. So, Maino claims it is fake and Troy Ave seems to be very intent on making sure we know it is real. So he made a video about it.

Like to hear it? Hear it go!

Maino is very much out side. So he had a response that seems to be directed to Troy.

I think he’s telling Troy Ave to come outside, but the verdict is still out. I am not sure that that would be a good ideal considering how hot it feels.

GloRilla Talks Wanting To Model Her Career After Rihanna, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift & Bad Bunny

Less than a year ago, GloRilla went from a local Memphis artist to national recognition thanks to the “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” single with record producer Hitkidd.

“F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” hit DSPs like Apple Music and YouTube on April 29, 2022. Since that time, GloRilla’s breakout hit earned the southern rapper a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rap Performance.

GloRilla quickly followed up the success of “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” by linking up with Bronx-bred Hip Hop superstar Cardi B for “Tomorrow 2” which peaked at No. 9 on the weekly Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The music industry began to formally recognize GloRilla’s meteoric rise. Spotify named her a 2023 “Most Necessary” Artist. Apple Music promoted her as an “Up Next” act. Glo also won Best Breakthrough Hip-Hop Artist at the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards and Best New Hip-Hop Artist at the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards.

GloRilla Wants To Be Among The Big Dogs

After scoring industry awards and Top 10 entries, it appears Big Glo still aims even higher for her career. The CMG recording artist recently spoke to Apple Music’s Ebro Darden about her ascent and her future.

The interview with the streaming platform included Darden asking GloRilla for examples of stars she sees as inspirations for her trajectory as a celebrity. The 23-year-old newcomer responded, “Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny. They’re big dogs.”

She also added, “I know Rihanna is a legend, I know she’s iconic, but when she performed at the Super Bowl, she didn’t perform a lot of songs, and the songs she did perform, all of them were hits. This lady got so many hits… So I’m trying to come like that.”

GloRilla could be on her way to iconic status. The Yo Gotti protégé kicked off her initial run as a major label-signed performer with 2022’s Anyways, Life’s Great… EP. That 9-track body of work came out via Collective Music Group/Interscope Records.

Tone Lōc Explains What Led To Bone Thugs-n-Harmony Beef

Tone Lōc doesn’t consent to many interviews, but he recently granted one to the Art of Dialogue. During the conversation, the “Wild Thing” rapper was asked about a claim Krayzie Bone made about him in a 2014 interview with SiriusXM. Essentially, the Bone Thugs-n-Harmony MC said he and his group had a rather cold interaction with him when they first started looking for a record deal.

“They had came to my house at like two in the morning,” Tone said. “Like, come on cuh. Two in the morning? They came to my house two in the morning from wherever they are, off the plane, talking about whatever they had to say. ‘Man, I don’t know y’all. F### y’all. Get on.’ On the real. It’s late. That song…and I’m glad they blew up and did what they had to do. They found Eazy or Dr. Dre and they went on and did they thing.”

As they all went their separate ways, the hard feelings continued for decades. In fact, Tone Lōc said they didn’t squash their beef until 2022.

“We always had a problem up until about maybe the end of last year,” he said. “One of ’em, we had did a show together. One of them came up—couldn’t tell you which one it is—and said, ‘You know what Tone, I have to apologize to you.'”

As Tone continued, he explained it was well-documented he lived right on Olympic Boulevard in Los Angeles, so he was constantly getting people coming to his home unannounced.

“I was real easy to find,” he said. “I’m living on the Boulevard. He came and he said, ‘I have to respect you.’ Because his record had gone big and now he has experienced that life. Everybody got a record and everybody nephew or niece…you know, everybody got a song. I got the No. 1 song. He was like, ‘I see that now. And I apologize for coming over there to your house so late and I get exactly what you were talking about. Let’s kill it.’ And we just shook. Boom. We probably blew one and we chilled out.”

Bone Thugs’ career worked out how it was meant to work out. Eazy-E was interested in them and signed the group to a deal with Ruthless Records in 1993. Bone Thugs then released their inaugural EP, Creepin’ On Ah Come Up, in 1994 and landed a hit with “Thuggish Ruggish Bone.” The following year, the group released its second album, E. 1999 Eternal, which included “1st of tha Month,” “Tha Crossroads” and “East 1999.” “Tha Crossroads”, a tribute to Eazy-E who had died months before its release, won a Grammy Award in 1997.

FX Drops Teaser For Tupac & Afeni Shakur Docuseries ‘Dear Mama’

Back in 1995, Tupac “2Pac” Shakur released a song titled “Dear Mama” off the Me Against the World album. Library of Congress’s National Recording Registry classified that personal track dedicated to the Hip Hop icon’s mother, Afeni Shakur, as “culturally, historically, or aesthetically” significant to the United States.

Director Allen Hughes explores Tupac Shakur and Afeni Shakur’s relationship in the forthcoming Shakur Estate-backed Dear Mama documentary series. The FX network will air the first two episodes of the 5-part series on April 21 at 10 pm ET/PT.

“Wherever possible, we tried to find archival footage that hadn’t been seen so there’s a lot that we have in the five parts,” said Hughes about Dear Mama during FX’s TCA presentation earlier this year. “There’s also audio that’s never been heard.”

Hughes continued, “And not just some of his acapellas and vocals, there is a lot of stuff of Tupac from his baby years that had never been seen. For Tupac superfans, I believe that two of the most important things in the project [are] the never seen before. But most importantly, you get to understand why he made certain decisions.”

Tupac Shakur Once Admitted to Attacking Allen Hughes And His Brother

Allen Hughes is one-half of The Hughes Brothers directorial team with Albert Hughes. The siblings’ filmography includes 1993’s Menace II Society, 1995’s Dead Presidents, 1999’s American Pimp, and 2010’s The Book of Eli.

Additionally, Allen Hughes oversaw HBO’s The Defiant Ones television documentary series. That four-part program covered the careers of Beats Electronics co-founders/music indurtsy heavyweights Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre.

Allen Hughes also has a direct connection to the late Tupac Shakur. While appearing on a 1993 episode of Yo! MTV Raps, 2Pac admitted to assaulting The Hughes Brothers over losing his role in the Menace II Society film.

Tupac Amaru Shakur put out four full-length studio LPs before his death in September 1996. Numerous posthumous projects arrived after gunmen killed the 25-year-old entertainer in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas. Afeni Shakur passed away in 2016 at the age of 69.

Lifetime Releases Trailer For ‘TLC Forever’ Documentary

TLC Forever will premiere on Saturday, June 3. The Lifetime documentary covers the careers of Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas.

An official trailer for TLC Forever arrived this week. The 102-second teaser video features appearances by T-Boz, Chilli, Academy Award winner Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, and Hip Hop legend Missy Elliott.

Lifetime and A&E will simulcast the two-hour, Matthew Kay-directed TLC Forever. Viewers will get to either discover or relive the hurdles and triumphs the “Waterfalls” hitmakers faced during their run to the top of the music business.

T-Boz, Left Eye, and Chilli formed TLC in the early 1990s. Industry veteran Perri “Pebbles” Reid began managing the trio. Pebbles eventually helped them secure a label deal with Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and Antonio “L.A.” Reid’s LaFace Records.

TLC’s debut album, Ooooooohhh… On the TLC Tip, dropped in 1992. Two years later, the Atlanta-based girl group returned with CrazySexyCool. TLC scored their first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 when 1999’s FanMail debuted atop the chart.

The Recording Industry Association of America certified FanMail as 6x-Platinum. CrazySexyCool managed to earn a Diamond Award from the RIAA by earning 12x-Platinum status. Additionally, TLC has four No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

VH1 aired CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story biographical television movie in 2013. Keke Palmer played Chilli, Niatia “Lil Mama” Kirkland played Left Eye, and Drew Sidora played T-Boz. The cast also included Rochelle Aytes, Evan Ross, and Carl Anthony Payne II.

Despite all the commercial success, TLC’s story also has tragedy. Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes died in April 2002 at the age of 30. She passed away from a car accident in La Ceiba, Honduras. T-Boz and Chilli went on to put out the 3D album with posthumous vocals by Left Eye in October 2002.
