EXCLUSIVE: De La Soul’s Trugoy The Dove Has Died At 54

De La Soul legend Trugoy The Dove, also known as Dave or Dave Jolicoeur, has died his team confirmed to AllHipHop. He was 54. Details are scarce, but Trugoy has been struggling with his health over the past few years. In 2018, Trugoy opened up about his battle with congestive heart failure in an Instagram video and admitted he was struggling with being sidelined.

“I’m ready just to get back to the stage,” he said at the time. “I miss that. I love traveling. I love being around my guys and I want that back.”

In 2020, he again sparked concern when he was briefly hospitalized. He appeared to be in good spirits, however, and was able to have an Instagram Live conversation with his De La Soul brethren, Posdnuos and Maseo.

It was expected to be a giant year for De La Soul. The talented trifecta has been fighting to get their first six albums on streaming services after a years of stalled negotiations with Tommy Boy Records, their former label. But last year, Reservoir Media wound up acquiring the Tommy Boy catalog and wanted to help rectify the situation.

After more than three decades, their groundbreaking debut 3 Feet High and Rising, De La Soul Is Dead, Buhloone Mindstate, Stakes Is High, Art Official Intelligence: Mosaic Thump and AOI: Bionix will finally be available on all DSPs on March 3.

In an interview with Rock The Bells last month, Posdnuos spoke on their hard-won victory, saying, “When we got together with the owners of Tommy Boy, every now and then, we’d make a few strides, then maybe all of us within the group wouldn’t trust in what was going on. Communications would be shut down for a few months. To get to the point where Reservoir has taken over the Tommy Boy catalog, they immediately reached out and they were like, ‘Look man, we have control of this. Let’s work it out.’ It was a whole different feeling, a better energy.

“Let’s be honest. They didn’t have to do it. It was just great to know they did take the time to work this out with us, but it’s been a journey. Once it was worked out, we still had to get all the business, all the affairs handled and now here we are.”

But now, it all feels bittersweet without all three members able to celebrate the momentous occasion. AllHipHop sends our heartfelt condolences to all of Trugoy’s loved ones. This is a developing story.

Kodak Black’s Next Big Move: Rapper Is Opening A Restaurant

Kodak Black, the rapper known for his fiery lyrics and controversial persona, has left his troubled past behind as he ventures into a new chapter in his life.

Despite his legal issues and skirmishes with the law, Kodak has turned over a new leaf thanks to a pardon by former President Donald Trump and is now diving into the world of commercial real estate investment.

The rapper recently made a wise purchase in Pompano Beach to create a new legacy. According to The Real Deal, Kodak spent $1.8 million on a property located at 1511-1547 Hammondville Road.

The first building is a nearly 3,800-square-foot structure, and the second is a 4,900-square-foot building constructed in the late 1950s.

Kodak has big plans for the property. One building will be transformed into a luxurious retail space with a restaurant, and he is considering tearing down the other to make way for a new retail space.

The new venture into commercial real estate is not just a business opportunity for Kodak but also a way for him to give back to the community that raised him.

With this new investment, Kodak Black is poised to make a major impact in the world of commercial real estate and become a respected player in the local industry.

Patti Labelle Is Ready To Start Dating, And She Has Someone In Mind!

Patti LaBelle is open to finding love.

During an appearance on “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” host Jennifer asked the music icon whether she was interested in dating, having finalized her divorce from Armstead Edwards in 2003 after three decades of marriage.

“Well sorta, kinda. How old am I? 78,” Patti replied. “I was married for 32 years to a wonderful man, and we’re still friends, good friends. And so, I think in life I need to find happiness for myself, other than what I had back in the day with him, which was wonderful. But I’m too good to be solo.”

Jennifer also asked the singer if she had tried any dating apps.

“What’s that?” she laughed before the TV presenter explained the concept.

“Oh, that stuff. I’ve seen that commercial,” Patti continued, noting that she already has a potential suitor in mind. “I really do, but that’s my personal business.”

Elsewhere in the conversation, the star revealed that she would want either Fantasia Barrino or Ledisi to play her in a future biopic.

“They can sing. They’re awesome. I love those ladies,” she praised. “You guys are the ones who call me because I’m honest, and I’m blessed to know you, so I don’t want you to make any mistakes that I might have made. So, you’re gonna get the truth from Ms. Patti Patti.”

Roseanne Barr Shoots Her Shot At A$AP Rocky: “Call Me When You Get Tired Of Rihanna”

Embattled comedian Roseanne Barr has been laying low since getting the boot from her own sitcom in 2018. But just days after speaking candidly to the Los Angeles Times, Barr is getting some attention. On Saturday (February 11), Barr shared an Instagram post suggesting she’s got the hots for A$AP Rocky.

Sharing a screenshot of a private message to the A$AP Mob rapper, Barr wrote: “Call me when you get tired of Rihanna.” She added in the caption: “Shooting my shot.” The post elicited thousands of responses and seemed to get a laugh out of her followers.

Meanwhile, Rihanna is busy gearing up for one of the biggest performances of her life—Super Bowl LVII. The Big Game goes down on Sunday (February 12) with the Fenty founder taking the stage for the prestigious halftime show.

As she explained in a recent interview with Apple Music, selecting what song snippets to perform proved to be tough.

“The setlist was the biggest challenge,” she admitted. “That was the hardest, hardest part. Deciding how to maximize thirteen minutes, but also celebrate. That’s what this show is gonna be. It’s gonna be a celebration of my catalog in the best way we could have put it together.

“You only have thirteen minutes, that’s a challenge. So you’re trying to cram seventeen years of work into thirteen minutes. It’s difficult, but some songs we had to lose because of that and that’s gonna be OK.”

As for Roseanne Barr, she’s no longer afraid to talk about getting fired from the Roseanne reboot. She didn’t, however, mince words when discussing it.

“I’ve survived,” she said. “I’ve come out on the other side of it, finally. But it was a witch-burning. And it was terrifying.”

EXCLUSIVE: Young Thug To Put Lyor Cohen & Kevin Liles On The Witness Stand

Young Thug remains behind bars awaiting trial on a slew of RICO charges. In the meantime, jury selection is underway but expected to be an exhaustive process.

According to court docs obtained by AllHipHop, Young Thug has a list of people he wants called to the witness stand, including Lyor Cohen. The former Def Jam executive and now YouTube’s Global Head of Music is one of 36 people included on the list.

Young Thug and his legal team also want to put Kevin Liles on the stand. Liles, who co-founded 300 Entertainment with Cohen, previously served as EVP at Warner Music Group.

The jury selection process for Young Thug’s trial began in early January, but as the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported, Judge Ural Glanville said jury selection will take months.

A total of 613 people were in the original pool of jurors. A new group of 300 prospective jurors will be brought in on February 24, while another batch of 300 will be added on March 17.

Potential jurors summoned will be required to watch a reading of the indictment against Young Thug and his co-defendants. The jurors will also get an opportunity to be excused for hardship.

“Just for your basic juror math, if we examine five a day, that is four months,” Glanville said. “If you examine a full panel a day, that’s about two and a half months.”

More than half of the 613 people summoned for jury duty were excused. Glanville’s goal is to qualify 90 jurors ahead of Thugger’s trial. The number will eventually get cut down to 12 jurors and six alternates.

Eminem’s Stunt Double Killed At 40

Eminem‘s stunt double, Ryan Shepard, was reportedly killed in Washington last month after being struck by a car. According to TMZ, Shepard was attempting to cross a street when a pickup truck slammed into him. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but Shepard was already dead.

Shepard began appearing as Eminem in the early 2000s. Not only did he work as Slim Shady’s stunt double, he’d also stand in for photos and show up to various events. In fact, he once posed at the MTV Movie Awards as Shady’s superhero character, Rap Boy. In 2002, Shepard had the opportunity to accompany Eminem on the Anger Management Tour. He accompanied Shady to both Japan and Europe the following year. He later appeared in the D12 video for “Purple Pills” as Eminem’s double.

Shepard’s brother Kyle said the 40-year-old eventually landed a job at Disney as a ride mechanical engineer and soon moved to Elon Musk’s SpaceX as a test automation engineer.

Eminem has yet to address Shepard’s death publicly. Shepard leaves behind two children.

Beyoncé Would Be With 2Pac Instead Of JAY-Z If Rapper Was Alive According To Big Gipp

Big Gipp recently sat down for an interview with the Art of Dialogue and shared some interesting revelations. Among them, the notion Beyoncé would be with 2Pac instead of JAY-Z had he survived the infamous 1996 Las Vegas shooting. The conversation was sparked after the Goodie Mob co-founder was asked about Billboard and Vibe’s controversial “greatest rappers of all time” list, which had JAY-Z at No. 1 and 2Pac at No. 4.

“To me, 2Pac,” he says when asked about it. “Only reason you inching JAY-Z past 2Pac is because he got g###### Beyoncé. You take Beyoncé away, he ain’t got s###. Bar for bar? Yeah, he might rap better than ‘Pac, but ‘Pac came with the heart. That’s different. It’s just different. You can’t beat that. You can never beat the heart, bro.

“Some people can be technical, just like the difference between Jordan and LeBron. Jordan, technical. That muthafucka technical. LeBron? Gangster. Goon s###. Two different styles. If ‘Pac was here, who do you think the girl would have been with? Hold up [laughs].”

Big Gipp went on to discuss everything JAY-Z is essentially not.

“You can’t do no movies,” he continued. “You can’t do what ‘Pac was doing. C’mon. How can you be better than ‘Pac? You one-shot Charlie. That boy was a triple threat. He did groups that was successful, solo albums that was successful and movies that was successful. Hands down. If he had lived, he would have smoked everything walking.”

Big Gipp also described 2Pac’s “electric” energy and insisted people loved him with or without money. Essentially, Gipp suggested nobody would give JAY-Z a second thought without his billion-dollar empire, including Beyoncé.

“‘Pac didn’t need no money to make people look at him,” he added. “‘Pac was a star without the money. If I put these two individuals beside each other without the money, the little bald head man wins the game.”

Mac Minister Will Remain Behind Bars For Murder Of 2 Kansas City Rappers

Bay Area rapper Mac Minister has been behind bars for the past 17 years, convicted of double murder. And according to 8 News Now, he won’t be getting out anytime soon, despite claims he was wrongfully convicted. Clark County District Court Judge Michelle Leavitt denied Mac’s Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus last month.

Mac Minister is charged with the 2005 deaths of two Kansas City rappers: Fat Tone and Cowboy. Attorney Robert Demarco alleged in court documents Mac didn’t receive a fair trial. He further claimed prosecutors withheld information, particularly about witness Antoine Mouton.

In the order, Judge Leavitt cited podcasts Mac participated in from prison and pointed out he provided Mouton’s personal information while talking about how Mouton testified against him.

Two days after one of the podcasts aired, Mouton recanted his story in an affidavit. Judge Leavitt questioned Mouton’s credibility and motivation to change his story. During Mouton’s most recent testimony, he couldn’t explain how the affidavit materialized.

Judge Leavitt also addressed a former San Francisco prosecutor Lateef Gray, who said he started looking at Mac’s case after he heard the rapper on a podcast.

Gray insisted he uncovered information about Mouton that prosecutors withheld. Judge Leavitt called some of the information provided by Gray inaccurate and noted his long relationship with Mac.

Mac Minister was found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of conspiracy to commit murder in July 2008. Prosecutors say he murder the rappers in retaliation for the 2004 killing of Mac Dre. But Mac’s legal team contends he was convicted in large part due to the fabricated testimony of Mouton.

Mac Minster attempted to have his conviction thrown out in 2010 but was unsuccessful.

Idris Elba Explains Why He’s No Longer A “Black” Actor And Doubles Down After Controversy Erupts

Idris Elba stopped describing himself as a “Black actor” because it limited his opportunities.

In a recent interview with Esquire UK, the Luther actor explained that the obsession with race can hinder people’s aspirations and growth.

“If we spent half the time not talking about the differences but the similarities between us, the entire planet would have a shift in the way we deal with each other. As humans, we are obsessed with race. And that obsession can really hinder people’s aspirations, hinder people’s growth,” he explained.

“Racism should be a topic for discussion, sure. Racism is very real. But from my perspective, it’s only as powerful as you allow it to be. I stopped describing myself as a Black actor when I realized it put me in a box. We’ve got to grow. We’ve got to. Our skin is no more than that: it’s just skin. Rant over.”

The 50-year-old Brit also noted that he doesn’t like being asked what it’s like to be “the first Black” to achieve a particular milestone.

“Well, it’s the same as it would be if I were white. It’s the first time for me. I don’t want to be the first Black. I’m the first Idris,” he stated.

Idris is set to reprise his role as Detective John Luther in the upcoming movie Luther: The Fallen Sun, which will be released on Netflix on March 10th.

This morning, Idris took to Twitter to double down on his remarks and opinion, which has sparked a debate online.

“There isn’t a soul on this earth that can question whether I consider myself a BLACK MAN or not,” Idris Elba said. “Being an ‘actor’ is a profession, like being an ‘architect’ ,they are not defined by race. However, If YOU define your work by your race, that is your Perogative. Ah lie?”

EXCLUSIVE: Ice-T Explains Why He Was Anxious Heading Into Grammys Hip-Hop Tribute

Ice-T was among the 27 artists who took the stage at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards last Sunday (February 5). The Original Gangster was tasked with performing a special segment celebrating Hip-Hop’s 50th anniversary. Executive produced by Questlove and introduced by LL COOL J, the roughly 12-minute performance boasted appearances from Public Enemy, Run-DMC, Queen Latifah and many more.

Speaking to AllHipHop in a recent interview, Ice-T explained what it felt like to be onstage alongside his peers and why he was nervous ahead of the ceremony.

“It was a great feeling,” he says. “I can’t lie. I had a lot of anxiety going into it because it was such a big production. And, were they able to pull it off? We went and we did a rehearsal. It was a three-hour rehearsal for a 12-minute spot. When they run it live, it just goes. The way it was set up was as a medley, where everybody had to come in on point. There were no mistakes allowed.

“If you missed your cue, you were going to be off-beat because they weren’t going to stop that show, and you didn’t want to embarrass yourself on live TV. But everybody was really in the zone leading up to it. You can see that.”

He continues, “Basically, you saw 27 professionals, people who have been doing it for so long that there was nobody scared or nothing. I think everybody was on point. I had a good set, the people reacted well and I had a good time. It was just fun. The sad thing was I said it was the best time to see all these people and it wasn’t a funeral. We never really come together like that with so many different groups in one place, unless it’s for a sad reason. So, it was a good vibe.”

Thirty years ago, that might not have been the case. Throughout the late ’80s and early ’90s, Ice-T and LL COOL J didn’t exactly get along and would often take their grievances to wax. But they were able to set aside their differences years ago, despite only being the same room a handful of times.

“LL and I have been together on different occasions,” he explains. “I’ve worked with him on Rock The Bells, we’ve done podcasts and stuff, but as far as an actual physical picture of us? I think there’s probably one other one out there. And I think the other one was before we actually really sat down and talked like grown men about it. But yeah, that’s over and lol the beef never really escalated. It was just rap beef.”

The feud boiled down to LL COOL J claiming to be “the baddest rapper in the history of rap itself” and Ice-T disagreeing. As he confirms, “That was the gist of it, absolutely. Those things can always escalate because you have fans, and if they catch me out there, they’re gonna talk to me about LL. That can always escalate easily.”

But it didn’t. And on February 5, LL COOL J and Ice-T were able to pose for a photo together, something Questlove even admitted “worried” him. Ice captioned the photo: “Here’s a Pic Hip Hop heads probably thought they’d NEVER see. ICE and @llcoolj Chillin at the 2023 Grammy rehearsals. Tonight is gonna be legendary.” And it was.

H.E.R. Shares The Songs She Wants To See Rihanna Perform At Super Bowl LVII

This Sunday, Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles will face off at Super Bowl LVII in Glendale, Arizona. The NFL recruited Barbadian singer Rihanna to headline the game’s Halftime Show.

Fans can expect Rihanna to run through some of the biggest hits of her career. Fellow R&B vocalist H.E.R. spoke to Apple Music’s Zane Lowe about which tracks she hopes to hear during the mid-game showcase.

“They’re going to have to extend the broadcast just a little bit,” stated H.E.R. about Rihanna’s set. “Man, I want to hear ‘Umbrella.’ I want to hear the classics. I want to hear ‘We Found Love.’ I want to hear, man, it’s so many, I don’t even know. I know I want to hear ‘Love on the Brain.'”

H.E.R. sang “America the Beautiful” at Super Bowl LV. She also told Lowe, “A lot of moments I think I’ve missed out just being so focused on the performance. I’ve focused too much that I couldn’t really have fun and enjoy. So I will say that was one of the first performances I realized how important it was to actually enjoy these moments.”

Rihanna Is One Of The Most Successful Acts In Hot 100 History

Throughout her musical run, Rihanna was able to rack up fourteen #1 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The Roc Nation recording artist places at No. 4 on the all-time list of acts with the most Number Ones.

Rihanna has sixty-three overall entries on the Hot 100 chart with a total of thirty-two Top 10 songs. She recently took part in an Apple Music-presented press conference and talked about the difficulty of finalizing her Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show setlist.

“That was the hardest, hardest part,” said Rihanna. “Deciding how to maximize thirteen minutes, but also celebrate. That’s what this show is gonna be. It’s gonna be a celebration of my catalog in the best way we could have put it together.”

Kanye West’s Lawsuit Against Australian Burger Joint Sizzles Out Because Artist Goes Missing

The world is watching as Kanye West’s empire seems to crumble and many of his efforts lose credibility.

Such is the case with a lawsuit he filed against an Australian hamburger restaurant and his legal representation.

It has nothing to do with the validity of the case, but everything to do with how he communicates. The lawyers said he has stopped talking to them and so they are going to stop pursuing the litigation.

According to WA Today, at the top of 2022, Ye accused Ivanhoe burger store owner Mark Elkhouri and his restaurant of misleading his fans by selling College Dropout Burgers.

True fans will recognize this as a play off of his 2004 debut Def Jam release by the same name. The Melbourne fast food spot used the name without getting the permission of the multi-hyphenate serial entrepreneur.

The lawsuit said, “Ye has suffered, and will continue to suffer, loss and damages. Ye has sold more than 140 million records internationally and is one of the best-selling artists of all time.”

On Friday, Elkhouri’s barrister Craig Smith said to Federal Court Justice Shaun McElwaine College Dropout’s legal team have not received any response from West regarding the application needed to sue and even start the case, the legal practice for a party outside the jurisdiction to bring forth a lawsuit in the country.

“The applicant has taken a single substantive step so far in this proceeding, which is to initiate it … and then nothing since then,” Smith argued.

Adding, “None of the various requests … none of those have been answered with any substance.”

Yeezy has not commented on the lawsuit and the issues raised by the lawyers.

Kodak Black Sued For 2022 Super Bowl After-Party Shooting In LA

As Super Bowl LVII gears up and people debate over who is going to win, the Philadelphia Eagles or the Kansas City Chiefs, remnants from last year’s big dance are still popping up in Kodak Black’s life.

TMZ reports both the Florida rapper and his friend R&B/ Pop crooner Justin Bieber are being sued for the shooting that happened outside of the “Peaches” chart-topper’s after party at The Nice Guy in LA.

Also named in the lawsuit as defendants are the Nice Guy, The Hwood Group, and Revolve Group, plus the City of Los Angeles, the City of West Hollywood, and Los Angeles County.

The lawsuit is allegedly filed by two men, Mark Schaefer and Adam Rahman, who were there and were shot last February. They claim as a result of the shooting, they were severely injured. They are currently repped by Gloria Allred.

AllHipHop.com covered the shooting and the chaos it caused.

The rapper was also injured in the melee and had to be hospitalized our platform reported.

According to the lawsuit, fingers are pointing at the “Super Gremlin” rapper, saying he and his crew caused the most drama.

In fact, the complaint says he actually worked to escalate the situation, putting multiple people in danger.

In addition to the antagonist environment, which the lawsuit says he instigated, the two men point out there was not sufficient security in the venue.

Schaefer and Rahman are asking to compensated for damages they have sustained as a result of their injuries.

MC Shan Slams Public Enemy, Salt-n-Pepa, DJ Jazzy Jeff & Slick Rick For Grammys Appearance

The 65th Annual Grammy Awards featured a special segment celebrating 50 years of Hip-Hop. Executive produced by Questlove, the 13-minute performance boasted appearances from Public Enemy, Run-DMC, Too $hort, Queen Latifah and many more. While it was certainly a highlight of the exhaustive four-hour ceremony, some people had a problem with it. MC Shan, in particular, called out several of the performers for their perceived hypocrisy.

On Thursday (February 9), the Juice Crew alum re-shared a throwback photo of DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, Public Enemy, Salt-n-Pepa, Slick Rick and Kid-n-Play to Instagram. In the caption, he pointed out they initially boycotted the Grammys in 1989 after the Recording Academy refused to televise the rap categories.

“IF YOU SAW ONE OF THESE ARTIST AT THE GRAMMY THEY SELL OUT,” he wrote in all caps. “I TOLD YALL THEY WOULDNT EVEN LET US IN THE DOOR iN 89. BUT NOW THE GRAMMYS IS THE S###. F### YOU, YOU SELL OUT. THAT WAS OUR BLOOD ON THE GROUND THAT YOU SO CASUALLY PASSED ON YOUR WAY IN. SO F### YOU.”

Shan, who appeared angry about the entire situation, insisted he wasn’t upset. He continued: “NO IM NOT MAD THEY AINT CALL ME THEY WOULDA BEEN MAD F### A GOOD LOOK WHERE THE CHECK …ALL THE N-GGAS THAT GOT BIG MONEY WENT ON LAST KALID TO RICH JAY TO RICH FOR A GOOD LOOK SO YOU KNOW THEY BUST THEY HEAD ….LOLOL.”

https://www.instagram.com/p/CobUIdlOPG5/?hl=en

The rap categories were introduced at the 31st Annual Grammy Awards. DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince were nominated (and won) the first-ever rap Grammy for “Parents Just Don’t Understand.” But DJ Jazzy Jeff and Will Smith decided not to attend.

“We chose to boycott,” he said at the time. “You go to school for 12 years, they give you your diploma, and they deny you that walk down the aisle.”

Public Enemy’s Chuck D and Flavor Flav famously didn’t attend either. They’d already made up their minds about the Recording Academy. As Chuck rapped on the 1988 single “Terminator X to the Edge of Panic,” “Who gives a f### about a g###### Grammy?”

Despite the Grammys’ complicated relationship with Hip-Hop, its 50th anniversary celebration was enough to appease the purists and welcome the next generation.

50 Cent Blasts Grammys on ‘Non-English Speaking’ Captions During Bad Bunny’s Performance

Rapper 50 is upset about the lack of intentional inclusion and diversity the Recording Academy had in this year’s Grammy Awards ceremony.

Sure, Black and Brown people were represented. But according to the Queens native, not everyone could enjoy some performances because culturally they were locked out. He called it disrespectful.

Does he have a point?

On his Instagram, she shared a capture of Bad Bunny’s opening performance at the 2023 event, rocking two of his major hits, “El Apagón” and “Después de la Playa.” During the live broadcast, the close caption said when he was performing, “ “[SPEAKING NON-ENGLISH]” and “[SINGING IN NON-ENGLISH].”

Though a native English speaker, 50 took offense and wrote, “The Grammys need to be check about this, Fvcking @badbunnypr bigger than everybody right now and you can’t pay for closed caption. Wtf is this speaking Non-English. 🤨FIX IT ! #bransoncognac #lecheminduroi.”

https://www.instagram.com/p/CoctFHgO3i3/

Others agreed.

“’Speaking NON-English; is NOT ‘insensitive to many,’ it was DISRESPECTFUL to the Hispanic & Latin communities & every other group that speaks a different language. They knew he was performing in Spanish & didn’t care to ensure viewers enjoyed & understood the performance,” one person tweeted.

“@RecordingAcad The Speaking  Non-speaking Non-English and Singing Non-English is a disgrace towards Puerto Ricans and all Hispanic who choose to sing their song in their native language!!!!!”

Despite this, many were proud of the performance.

“What Bad Bunny brought to the Grammys wasn’t ‘Latino’ culture. It was a very thoughtful display of island Puerto Rican and Dominican cultures. This is Caribbean culture. The ‘ahora todos quieren ser Latinos’ is truly ahora todos quieren ser caribeñes.”

Last year, Kodak Black told fans he was going to college but didn’t name the school. This week, the Florida-bred rapper mentioned the university while talking about the Super Bowl festivities in Arizona.

“Arizona been one of my states,” he wrote on Instagram Stories. “Fun fact: I’m really enrolled in ASU college after getting my GED in jail. I’m just in love with applying myself although money so long can teach the school something.”

Adidas Bracing For $1.3 Billion Loss After Dropping Kanye West

Adidas may lose 1.2 billion euros (roughly $1.3 billion) in revenue due to its inability to sell its existing Yeezy stock.

The company disclosed its financial difficulties on Thursday (February 9). Adidas admitted it’s struggling after cutting ties with Kanye West over his antisemitism.

“The numbers speak for themselves,” the company’s CEO Bjørn Gulden said in a press release. “We are currently not performing the way we should. 2023 will be a year of transition to set the base to again be a growing and profitable company.”

Gulden added, “Adidas has all the ingredients to be successful … We need to put the pieces back together again, but I am convinced that over time we will make Adidas shine again. But we need some time.”

Adidas dropped Kanye West in October 2022, ending a nine-year partnership. The company declared it didn’t tolerate antisemitism or hate speech in response to Ye’s offensive remarks.

“Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous,” Adidas announced. “And they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness. After a thorough review, the company has taken the decision to terminate the partnership with Ye immediately, end production of Yeezy branded products and stop all payments to Ye and his companies.”

Adidas maintained the design rights to existing Yeezy products. Ye maintained the trademark to the Yeezy brand.

Trey Songz Hit With New $25 Million Lawsuit; Alleged Rape Victim Refiles Case

A Jane Doe refiled a lawsuit against Trey Songz, accusing him of raping her in 2016.

According to Rolling Stone, the woman filed her new lawsuit in Los Angeles on Thursday (February 9). She sued Trey Songz, Kevin Liles, Atlantic Records and 300 Entertainment for $25 million.

“This case is much more than about one singer and one viciously abused sexual assault survivor who has the courage to take action,” Jane Doe’s attorney George Vrabeck told Rolling Stone. “It’s also very much about the systematic sexual abuse in the music industry and the music industry’s complicity in silencing sexual abuse survivors. It’s virtually impossible to believe that those executives are not and were not aware of the institutionalized sexual abuse.”

Vrabeck’s client originally sued Trey Songz in February 2022. Last November, the case was dismissed due to the statute of limitations.

Jane Doe accused Trey Songz, whose real name is Tremaine Neverson, of anally raping her at a party in March 2016. She claimed the two had a history of consensual sex prior to the sexual assault.

The woman said the 38-year-old singer invited her into a bedroom during the party. She believed they would have consensual sex, but he allegedly threw her to the ground and raped her despite her pleading with him to stop.

Trey Songz has faced multiple allegations of sexual assault in recent years. He maintains his innocence.
