Brooklyn rapper Jay Critch is gearing up to drop a new project and reveals that the New York giant is more than just a dope emcee, but has refinery and culture popping off with his newfound celebrity.
On Wednesday, Feb. 15, the artist showed (like most kids from Brooklyn) has an ill-fashion side, showing up at the “Who Decides War” with the likes of Jim Jones and Juelz Santana of The Diplomats, June Ambrose, Babyface Ray, Joey Bada$$, and Dave East, during one of the last days of New York Fashion Week (Winter), according to the Fashion Network.
He also popped out at the Wales Bonner spring 2023 ready-to-wear runway “Horizon Blues” at Nordstrom’s, Vogue mentioned.
This is a great setup for his new album on Empire, “Jugg Season.” During a listening party, after the WDW event, he came in with one of their varsity jackets and share his upcoming projects with a room full of tastemakers at the popular Midtown restaurant, Sei Less.
He also has a mini-doc coming out along with the project, celebrating what it is like being from Biggie’s hometown.
It is no secret that disgraced singer R. Kelly will never get out of jail with his massive 30 year New York racketeering conviction in his lifetime. But now, the Feds are adding a little more injury to insult— pushing for an additional 25 more years to be tacked on to his Cook County sentence because he continues to show no remorse for his decades of sexual abuse to minors and vulnerable women.
According to the Chicago Tribune, on Thursday, Feb. 16, Federal prosecutors in Chicago want a 25-year consecutive prison sentence attached to his 2022 child pornography conviction, calling him a “serial sexual predator.”
The prosecution is asking U.S. District Judge Harry Leinenweber that Grammy Award-winner’s sentence run consecutively to the 30-year term.
“(Kelly) not only refuses to accept any responsibility for his conduct, but he repeatedly deflects any blame for his crimes, and instead advocates that he is being treated unfairly because, for example, ‘other artists and musicians’ should be prosecuted for these crimes,” Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jeannice Appenteng, Elizabeth Pozolo, Jason Julien, and Brian Williamson wrote after Kelly’s team compared his appetite for underage girls with those of mostly white musicians, who they claim were given a pass by the government.
“Plain and simple, Kelly does not comprehend that what he did was wrong,” they collectively added.
Being labeled a snitch has not stopped rapper 6ix9ine’s bag. The Firebrand rapper is still touring, chasing that international check. He recently booked a headline slot at Rishon Lezion’s Live Park Amphitheater in Israel.
According to Y Net News, fans will get to see the colorful-haired Brooklynite for as low as NIS 300 (the equivalent of $85 in American currency).
Others set to perform on the same card at the event are several Israeli rappers such as Peled, Shahar Soul, and Eden Derso. Others artists will be announced later.
As the announcement was being made, 6ix9ine seems to have made another announcement. He is starting a new page, called “The Biggest Opp.” He shared the news in a caption on his rarely used verified account.
He wrote, “I start today follow @thebigggestttoppp that’s my second page but ima post there more then here. Im with my friend @madaboutleyh. We on a girls trip. So, like yeah please nobody get mad at me :/ or her please fr.”
“We out here livin life Tranna make it. Fr fr I don’t even f#3k wit future but he made that song bout my life he told me that fr fr ask Boston Richey,” he continued. “But any way suck my d##k see me when u see me.”
Grammy-nominated rapper and Terror Squad leader Fat Joe is working with the organization Power to the Patients to combat injustices in the American Healthcare system by putting out a public service announcement about an issue he believes is a public crisis.
With the PSA, the national organization Power to the Patients, and the artist, whose real name is Joseph Antonio Cartagena, bring attention to how many hospitals are not in compliance with the 2021 federal mandate that requires them to provide clear, upfront pricing, so that patients can “see, compare, and save.”
Less than 25% of the hospitals in the United States have complied with this rule.
Joe said in a statement, “We have to change the healthcare system and hold hospitals and insurers accountable to provide more transparency on the price of care. They are charging way too much money and the bills are not even consistent.”
Adding, “Somebody could get an MRI for $300 and someone right behind them could be paying thousands for the same MRI. Right now, millions across the country are being dragged into debt because they’re blindsided by the cost of these medical bills. Families are falling apart. People are losing their homes. People are getting bankrupted because of hospital bills and healthcare.”
“People across America are fighting for the truth,” the Bronx rapper begins the public service announcement.
“Fighting [are]to be free of a healthcare system that is rigged against all of us,” he continues. “One that squeezes our wages and forces patients into death. Our health care system is crushing the American dream by robbing workers, employers, unions, and families.”
Fat Joe then addresses the real issue, pointing out that “hospitals and insurers hide their prices,” and explains when they “gouge” and “hide” prices from the average person, they are “breaking the law.”
The rapper-turned-actor-and-now health advocate called on elected officials in local administrations, statehouses, Congress, and “all the way up to President Biden” to enforce transparency rules that already exist that will make the hospitals and insurance companies be more honest.
Believing average people can work with those medical professionals to ensure “a more honest equitable affordable system.”
In a news release about the campaign, Joe states, “Knowing prices is the only way we will be able to lower our costs in healthcare. So, we have to fight for the people,” said Joe. “I teamed up with Power to the Patients to educate our communities on their rights and help put an end to this injustice.”

It has been seven months since the last Verzuz showcase took place. Kasseem “Swizz Beatz” Dean and Timothy “Timbaland” Mosley’s friendly music competition show is looking to make a comeback in 2023.
“We’ve been changing the infrastructure because when we started, it happened in the garage and then moved to a significant platform,” stated music producer/recording artist Swizz Beatz in an interview with Revolt.
He added, “Now, we changed the whole way we’re moving but not entirely, so people won’t feel like it’s not the same. We have a fantastic lineup with people they wanted to see and even battles they think wouldn’t happen. Announcements will be coming soon.”
Swizz Beatz & Timbaland’s Verzuz Won Several Awards
Verzuz became a huge online hit during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. What began as a virtual deejay battle on Instagram Live in 2020 evolved into a live show featuring legendary Hip Hop and R&B acts.

On February 5, the 65th Annual Grammy Awards presented the “50 Years of Hip-Hop” performance. Swizz Beatz joined other rap icons like Run-DMC, LL Cool J, Queen Latifah, Busta Rhymes, and Missy Elliott for the star-studded celebratory set.

Is Joe Budden a member of the LGBTQ+ community? The Hip Hop podcaster’s former State of the Cultureco-host, Remy Ma, has questions about his sexual preference.
In 2021, Budden had a lot of people on the internet believing he is bisexual. The online conversation began after Budden said he “likes guys and girls” on an episode of his show.
The retired emcee later tweeted, “I see the word got out!! Continue to spread the word [please].” His ex-girlfriend, Tahiry Jose, addressed the gossip by suggesting Budden could be open to trying new things.
More gay rumors emerged last December after Joe Budden said he would “break” Lil Fizz in response to the reality show star’s nude images allegedly leaking. Budden also joked about making “fizz” come out of the B2K singer.
“I am not gay or bisexual. I’m flattered,” declared Joe Budden on a December 2022 installment of his podcast. He added, “What I said about Fizz, I was joking. That was a joke, but you never know how the joke feels until you’re on the other side of it.”
Remy Ma recently appeared on an episode of Revolt’s The Jason Lee Show to promote her upcoming Chrome 23 battle rap event. At one point, the Bronx-bred rapper addressed the chatter about Joe Budden possibly being attracted to men.
“I gotta call Joe because I feel like we’re close enough for him to be honest with me about his sexuality… Because I be confused,” the “All the Way Up” rhymer told Jason Lee.
Remy Ma did say she does not believe Joe Budden is bisexual. When Lee suggested Budden’s comments are just him trolling, Remy replied, “Yeah, but stop! He got me out in the streets arguing with people in his defense.”
Digga D surprised tourists in England’s capital city earlier this month after shutting down the famous Piccadilly Circus for a video shoot.
Fans of the West London rapper, who has music with artists like B Lovee and Moneybagg Yo, flocked to the shoot, causing chaos around the central London monument. Digga D was joined by fellow U.K. artist, Ivorian Doll. The pair were said to be filming for the unreleased track “Grey Tracky.”
Despite the overflowing crowd, the shoot seemingly went well. Although there was a significant police presence, cops reported no arrests.

However, more than a week after the Feb. 4 shoot, Digga D found himself in hot water with some of his followers. Footage from the day of the shoot surfaced showing the “Noughty By Nature” creator shoving a fan.
Digga D Admits He Pushed Fan
Digga D caught wind of the clip which was shared via TikTok and has amassed over 400,000 views, with many in the comments condemning the famous musician. He took to Instagram on Thursday (Feb. 16), to explain that he had spent “hours trying to take pictures with everyone.” However, he accused a “specific guy” of “pushing” and “barging” him repeatedly.
“So I done it back,” he declared. “I do the most for my supporters. Take them clothes shopping, I’ve bought cars & I always interact.” Check out the clip below.
He claims the incident left him disillusioned and is considering quitting music after dropping his upcoming mixtape.
“Can’t lie him posting that video might have been the last straw, after this tape I reckon I’m done. This internet s### to p#### for me,” Digga D concluded.
Meanwhile, the 20-year-old scored a legal victory on Wednesday. His legal team announced the state dropped its case against the rapper after bringing proceedings against him for breach of a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).
“Fighting and Fighting,” Digga D penned in his Instagram Stories. “Can’t break me.”
Instagram rolled out a brand new feature that allows some users to share GIFs in the comment section. Hip Hop superstar Cardi B shared her thoughts on the change.
Earlier this month, Instagram revealed the ability to reply to Stories using GIPHY GIFs. The social media site has now added the capability to add short, animated image files on individual posts as well.
“I don’t know, them GIFs ain’t hitting like they hit in the Twitter ghettos,” tweeted Cardi B on Thursday night. The “Tomorrow 2” performer’s tweet amassed more than 5,000 likes in under six hours.
Before joining the Love & Hip Hop: New York cast, Cardi B rose to fame as an internet personality. The Grammy-winning rapper currently has 28 million Twitter followers and 152 million Instagram followers.
Cardi is one of the most-followed people on Instagram. She is presently right behind comedian Kevin Hart’s 166 million follower count. Soccer great Cristiano Ronaldo leads the list with 548 million followers.
Instagram’s latest GIF update falls in line with fellow Meta Platforms-owned social media app Facebook. That 19-year-old social networking company added the GIF option for status replies in 2017.
Global fashion icon Rihanna has found a new muse in her baby son with A$AP Rocky, although she isn’t thrilled with the existing choices in the childrenswear market. So much so that she could even add a new youth line to her ever-expanding Fenty empire.
The new superstar parents opened up about their blossoming family during their recent cover story with British Vogue. The “Lift Me Up” hitmaker revealed how much she enjoys selecting her little boy’s clothes, especially unconventional ones.
“One of my favourite outfits he has is a miniature version of one of Rocky’s,” she said, referring to the tartan kilt and ripped jeans that she dressed her son in. “I like to dress him in things that don’t look like baby clothes. I like to push it.”
Rihanna revealed that she values “fluidity” when choosing her son’s clothes, opting for florals and hot pink.
“I put him in floral stuff,” she explained before adding, “I put him in hot pink. I love that.” RiRi continued “I think that fluidity in fashion is best. I always shop in the men’s department, you know.”
Will Rihanna Add Childrenswear To The Fenty Brand
However, sometimes even the men’s section leaves Rihanna wanting more. The youngest self-made billionaire in the United States often opts for bespoke designs for her little man.
“When you come up with something in your head, half the time it is not available because kids’ clothes are so…they’re sooo boring,” Rihanna shared. “I’m like, ‘This is what y’all been doing to these people’s kids all along?’”
One outfit Rihanna loved was the “little Chrome Hearts diaper cover” her son sported on the Vogue cover which she branded his “little gothic look.”
The Fenty empire owner, who recently announced her pregnancy, might add childrenswear to her brand. When asked if she would consider launching a babies’ clothing line, Rihanna replied, “I feel like the kids need it…Let’s get these kids cool. These kids deserve to be cool.”

Spike Lee has weighed in on the discussion surrounding Beyoncé missing out on Album of the Year at the 2023 Grammys.
The Renaissance creator was a fan favorite to win the coveted award for her seventh studio LP, her fourth time being nominated in the category. However, the British singer Harry Styles earned the victory on the night for his chart-topping offering, Harry’s House. Some unhappy BeyHive members took to rudely heckling the former One Direction member during his acceptance speech.
During a recent interview, famed director Spike Lee shared his disbelief that Beyoncé has never won the coveted award, despite being in the running four times. In 2017 Adele scooped the trophy for Lemonade, while Bey’s self-titled album was beaten by Beck in 2015. Her first nomination came in 2010 with I Am…Sasha Fierce but she lost out to Taylor Swift’s Fearless.
According to the iconic filmmaker, “That’s some straight-up b#######.”
“I’m not the male president of the Bey Hive, but I love and support Beyoncé,” Spike Lee told The Guardian. “Her album is amazing. I know she’s won multiple Grammys, but four times nominated for album of the year and she’s lost every time? No disrespect to those artists like Adele or Harry Styles who won. It’s not their fault, but that’s some straight-up b#######.”
Spike Lee Questions If Black Artists Should Seek “White Validation”
Spike Lee said “great Black artists” are historically snubbed and questioned whether such artists should “seek white validation.”
“There’s a history of great Black artists who come up for these awards and don’t win,” Lee stated. “We all know their work is great because art speaks for itself. But then it always comes down to this tricky territory of validation. Do Black artists say: ‘F### it’ – or seek white validation and chase awards?”
While Beyoncé lost out on best album, she did scoop four other awards. The win took her Grammy career total to 32, making her the most decorated artist in Grammy history.
“I just want to give a shoutout to my sister Beyoncé,” Spike Lee added. “We know what the deal is. It’s straight-up shenanigans, skulduggery, subterfuge. Or as the British say: it’s some poppycock!”
Damon Dash has been cleared in a sexual assault case that played out in federal court Thursday as a jury ruled the Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder did not sexually assault photographer Monique Bunn.
Bunn filed her suit in 2019, claiming the mogul had sexually touched her without consent as she slept at his home. Bunn charged she was hired for a photoshoot and a drunken Dame Dash came into the room while she was sleeping. She alleged he touched her breasts and buttocks in the room.
In addition to the sexual assault claims, she then added on defamation charges to the case, which the jury awarded her damages of $30,000 per a Billboard report.
She claimed victory in a statement to AllHipHop. “I am thankful to the jury for the result on my defamation claim. It has been 4 years to get to this point and I am pleased I can move forward,” said Monique Bunn. “Now the world knows that Damon Dash and Raquel Horn made false statements that I tried to rob them. The jury awarded actual and punitive damages and I am appreciative to the jury for the award.”
Furthermore, her legal team said they intend to get her monies due.
“Yet again, the Court and the jury system has proven it will not tolerate Mr. Dash’s violations of the law. Now the collection process begins. I will get every penny due to Ms. Bunn from Damon Dash and Raquel Horn” Said Christopher Brown of Brown & Rosen LLC. “We will start by selling Damon Dash’s interest in Roc-a-Fella-Records Inc., via the United States Marshal and add Ms. Bunn’s judgment to the approximate One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00) Damon Dash already owes pursuant to Webber v. Dash, 19-610 and Brown v. Dash 20-10676.”
Dame Dash did not say much about the verdict, but did say “justice prevails” in a post on Instagram and thanked his lawyer Felton Newell.
Drake and 21 Savage settled a lawsuit with publisher Condé Nast, which sued the two over a fake Vogue magazine cover.
According to multiplereports, Drake and 21 Savage agreed to pay an undisclosed amount to the publisher after using a faux Vogue cover to promote their Her Loss album. Semafor obtained a memo in which Condé Nast’s general counsel Will Bowes addressed the settlement.
“As a creative company, we of course understand our brands may from time to time be referenced in other creative works,” Bowes said. “In this instance, however, it was clear to us that Drake and 21 Savage leveraged Vogue’s reputation for their own commercial purposes and, in the process, confused audiences who trust Vogue as the authoritative voice on fashion and culture.”
Last year, Drake and 21 Savage created a phony press tour for Her Loss. The rappers faked appearances on the Howard Stern Show, NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert and Saturday Night Live to promote the album.
Condé Nast, which publishes Vogue, filed its lawsuit against the duo in November 2022. The company sought at least $4 million in damages.
A judge issued a temporary restraining order to stop Drake and 21 Savage from using the fake Vogue cover in their promotional campaign. They agreed to a permanent injunction in the settlement.
RZA has teamed with the Colorado Symphony for his first ballet, which debuts at Denver’s Boettcher Concert Hall on Friday (February 17).
The Wu-Tang Clan member’s ballet opens as part of a double-header presentation titled 36 Chambers of Shaolin and A Ballet Through Mud. The performance features dancing, orchestration and spoken word.
“We’re excited here but a little bit nervous,” RZA told the Denver Post. “Denver is the first place that will see this dream, but it’s something we want to show to other people as well.”
RZA devised A Ballet Through Mud during the pandemic. He enlisted the Colorado Symphony and choreographer Yusha-Marie Sorzano to bring it to life.
“I gave [Sorzano] the story of the ballet and she put her brain to it, pulling a great cast of dancers who are also acting out their roles and characters,” RZA said. “We started this project here in Denver a year ago … when I was out here having Valentine’s Day dinner with my wife. We had to come out to see the vibe and if we could get the dancers to find the groove and the tempos, you know? To see if the music was speaking to them.”
RZA’s ballet is scheduled for a second performance on Saturday (February 18). Tickets for both shows are available here.
NBA YoungBoy isn’t completely ready to move on from violent lyrics despite his interest in becoming a Mormon.
The Baton Rouge native detailed what to expect on his next album on the Rap Radar podcast. NBA YoungBoy revealed he won’t lighten his aggressive content on the project, which is titled Don’t Try This At Home.
“I’ma talk crazy on there,” he said. “I’m a show you the Murda Man. I’m gon’ talk crazy on there, but I’m letting you know though, don’t try this at home. It’s all entertainment, bruh. I’ma talk my s### and everything I talk, I’m letting you know, don’t try this at home.”
NBA YoungBoy was asked if there’s a thin line between reality and entertainment. He responded with his assessment of how many rappers truly live what they rap.
“Entertainment and reality is very different,” he said. “What I do think is some of the entertainers make their entertainment their reality. Don’t get me wrong, too. A lot of people you’ll see today, that’s 100 percent who they is. I don’t doubt it. A lot of rappers today, half of them probably 100 percent who they is. But I guarantee you, bro, the majority of them? Nah.”
NBA YoungBoy dropped a project titled I Rest My Case in January. The album was his first release for Motown Records.
Kanye West sought the help of law enforcement in his ongoing beef with the paparazzi.
According to multiplereports, Ye stopped by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office in West Hollywood after getting into a confrontation with the paparazzi on Tuesday (February 14). He allegedly claimed a cameraman challenged him to a fight.
A Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson told Page Six the controversial rapper encountered the paparazzi while leaving Sunset Boulevard. Kanye West asked photographers to stop following him, leading to an argument that almost turned into a physical altercation.
Kanye West filed a complaint against the paparazzi. Authorities opened an investigation.
Ye took his issues with the paparazzi to law enforcement a few weeks after venting his frustrations with one cameraman. He argued with a paparazzo about how the industry operates in January.
“My dad did photography for newspapers,” Kanye West told the paparazzo. “It has to be some kind of balance, some kind of conversation. I can’t live in California in my life like I’m some type of caged animal to be judged and photographed.”
Last month, Kanye West became a battery suspect in another incident involving a photographer. A video showed him grabbing a woman’s phone and throwing it in the street.
Remember, once upon a time when Machine Gun Kelly was the go-to guy. He was kind of like the heir-apparent when it came to white rappers and it looked like he might get the torch from Eminem. He had a sort of backwoods Middle America approach to Hip-Hop, but still was cool enough to hang around people like Meek Mill. At any rate, it became increasingly obvious that he was using Hip-Hop as a springboard to other things and more main stream success. Like the kid Kid Rock. This is nothing new.
People like that have always used Hip-Hop to get their rocks off and then take it to the next level in the main stream. They never even gave anything tangible to the game. He got into a beef with Eminem and that was a bit of a gift. That was very interesting and it was almost like a face-off. And I’m not gonna lie, he did his thing against one of Hip-Hop‘s gods. Did he win the battle? That’s up to the person listening because a lot of people had a lot of different opinions on that. I know one thing: he lost the war. Meaning: he got his respect out of that situation, but things have changed. The last year or so (who really cares) he and Megan Fox have been basically smitten in love and really Going overboard. They’ve been drinking each other’s blood and putting them in vials of necklaces and all types of crazy stuff.
https://www.instagram.com/p/CokcZ2voLqo/
It looks like it’s over now. That’s right: it appears that they have broken up. Megan has stopped following him on social media and she has started following Eminem, which is crazy right. But this seems to be the go to maneuver when you want to get under someone’s skin. Following Em certainly means it’s over over. I wonder what could’ve possibly happen to make her take such an extreme measure against someone that she had an extreme amount of love for?
The streets of saying he cheated. I was hoping it would be something more unique then just simple being a weak man of the flesh! Eminem stans are cheering and hooting and hollering about it because it looks like he got cooked. I hope it was worth it!
