Did Saweetie Shade Lil Baby For His Loose Lips?

Saweetie?

Saweetie is aggravated! Now, we have to admit that the freestyle is not the best, but it feeds directly into the rumors that we’ve been hearing in the recent past. She addresses, in this wrap at rolling loud, the rumors that she and Lil Baby were a thing for a second.

Lil Baby might’ve gotten a little over excited when they started to tangle a little bit. In the freestyle, she basically says that $100,000 is late. She also announces that she’s making quite a bit more money than that, afford to be a big deal. Reportedly, little baby got overly excited when she FaceTime Tim straight up naked. She said he started running his mouth far too soon and miss understood his boss tendencies. She said he’s more of a groupie than anything.

Now, we have to admit she did not say his name. So maybe it is not about him. Maybe it’s about a random guy. Kind of like the guy that she picked in the crowd at rolling loud. That guy is on cloud nine right now! Anyway, they would’ve been a cute little couple but he messed that up I guess. At least label mate Quavo wasn’t tripping.

He should get some credit because he did shoot down those rumors!

Then there is is the issue of the actual freestyle. There has been a lot of critique about how wack or dope the freestyle is. I am not looking to get my fill of lyricism from Saweetie anyway. If I want lyrics, I am looking at a bunch of rappers that are not on the pop charts. So…there’s that. Stay poppin’ Saweetie The Sweetie!

Bobby Shmurda Announces Release Date For First Post-Prison EP ‘Bodboy’

Brooklyn-raised rhymer Bobby Shmurda is no longer under the Epic Records umbrella. Shmurda is now ready to release a musical body of work as an independent artist.

Sixteen months after Bobby Shmurda left prison, the 27-year-old rapper announces the release date for Bodboy. The 9-track EP will come out on August 5 via Shmurda’s GS9 label in partnership with ONErpm.

Bobby Shmurda saw his music career halted in 2014 after New York prosecutors indicted him on various crimes, including murder and drug dealing. The man born Ackquille Pollard eventually pled guilty to conspiracy and weapons charges.

A Manhattan Supreme Court judge sentenced Pollard to seven years in state prison and five years post-release supervision. Quavo of the Migos and other members of the Hip Hop community helped celebrate Bobby Shmurda coming home in February 2021.

Since exiting the Clinton Correctional Facility last year, Shmurda dropped songs such as “No Time for Sleep (Freestyle)” and “Shmoney” featuring Quavo and Rowdy Rebel. He also showed up on “Tata (Remix)” by Eladio Carrión.

Bobby Shmurda Is Back As A Hoochie Daddy

Bobby Shmurda recently presented the official music video for his “Hoochie Daddy” single. The modern-day take on 2 Live Crew’s “Hoochie Mama” from the Friday movie soundtrack in 1995 will live on Smurda’s Bodboy.

2014’s “Hot N*gga” is the biggest hit of Bobby Shmurda’s career. The Jahlil Beats-produced track earned Shmurda a 5x-Platinum plaque from the Recording Industry Association of America on the day of his release from prison.

“Hot N*gga” peaked at #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song’s home project, Shmurda She Wrote, is a Gold-certified EP. Shmurda also has RIAA Awards for “Bobby B####” (Platinum) and Rowdy Rebel’s “Computers” (Gold).

Doja Cat Goes Viral With “Sex Goddess” Butt Tattoo

Doja Cat had been relatively quiet on Instagram in recent days. The “Kiss Me More” hitmaker returned to the social networking platform to show off her new body art.

Over the weekend, Doja shared a photo that featured a new “sex goddess” image on her butt cheek. Her followers flooded the post with likes and comments about the picture.

“First tattoo ever 7/23/22. I love it 🙏💕,” wrote Doja Cat in the Instagram caption. A second, close-up shot led many IG users to question if the rapper/singer’s tattoo is actually removable.

Regardless of its durability, Doja’s tatt garnered a lot of attention online. Her “sex goddess” Instagram post collected more than 3 million likes and nearly 14,000 comments.

2022 has been a strong year for Doja Cat so far. She picked up a Grammy Award at his year’s ceremony in April. “Kiss Me More” featuring SZA won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

Additionally, Billboard honored Doja Cat with the 2022 Powerhouse Award at the outlet’s Women in Music event. She also took home multiple trophies at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards, including Top R&B Artist and Top R&B Album.

Doja Cat earned a Gold plaque this year for her “Freaky Deaky” collaboration with Tyga. The Los Angeles-bred musician also earned another Top 40 hit with “Vegas” from the Elvis: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.

However, Doja Cat did receive some backlash from Stranger Things loyalists this year. Doja reportedly lost around 200,000 followers after publicly calling out 17-year-old Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp for posting her DMs with him on TikTok.

YK Osiris Calls Out Tory Lanez For Laughing At His Art

Is there new R&B beef brewing again? “Worth It” hitmaker YK Osiris had some words for Tory Lanez after the Canadian singer apparently ridiculed Osiris on social media.

YK Osiris dropped his new single “Be My Girl” on Friday, July 22. According to the 23-year-old Jacksonville native, Tory Lanez posted a disparaging comment about the song on social media.

In response, YK Osiris addressed Tory Lanez on Instagram Stories. After referring to Lanez as a “G.O.A.T.” and admitting he looks up to him, the Def Jam recording artist called out his “Worth It (Remix)” collaborator.

YK Osiris Says People In The Music Industry Are Fake

“So let’s get it understood, what I don’t f### with is you under my posts laughing and giggling at my art. I don’t f### with s### like that,” said YK Osiris. “I was just in Vegas with you on some brother-brother s###, whatever you wanna call it. And that’s why I don’t f### with a lot of n##### in the industry because you n##### fake.”

The Golden Child album creator continued, “But there are certain n##### I just expect things from. Like Tory, I f### with you. S### like that I don’t condone, because if you drop your music, I’m not playing with you like that. I salute anything you do and I f### with anything you do.”

Have The Two Singers Settled Their Differences?

YK Osiris went on to say he does not have any animosity towards Tory Lanez over the situation, adding, “Sometimes you gotta let n##### know, that simple.” The Shade Room also provided an update by reposting another Instagram message from Osiris that read, “We good @torylanez ❤️.”

Back in May 2020, Tory Lanez also poked fun at YK Osiris’s boxing skills following the internet personality’s friendly bout with NYC rapper Lil Tjay. YK Osiris then challenged Lanez to put on some gloves and face him one-on-one.

Lizzo Earns Her Highest-Charting Album With ‘Special’

Grammy-winning recording artist Lizzo let loose her fourth studio LP, Special, on July 15. The project scored the singer her highest-charting Billboard 200 entry to date.

Special debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 with 69,000 first-week units. The 12-track album is also the highest-charting album released by a woman in 2022.

Previously, Lizzo’s Cuz I Love You peaked at #4 in 2019. That project opened at #6 on the Billboard 200 with 41,000 album-equivalent units, giving Lizzo her first charting album.

Part of the early commercial success of Special stems from Lizzo’s “About Damn Time” song. The album’s official lead single has already made it to #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

“WE BEAT THE PROJECTIONS B####!!! MY HIGHEST EVER CHARTING ALBUM YET!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you for loving #special,” tweeted Lizzo on Sunday afternoon.

Bad Bunny blocked Lizzo’s Special from reaching the Billboard 200’s pole position. The Puerto Rican rapper has maintained a chock hold on the album rankings for several weeks.

Un Verano Sin Ti added another 103,000 units to its total this week. Bad Bunny’s fourth LP has earned over 100,000 units in its first 11 weeks on the chart. Un Verano Sin Ti has held the top spot six times.

Elsewhere on the latest Billboard 200, Drake’s Honestly, Nevermind rose one slot to #5. Future’s I Never Liked You also climbed one position from #7 to #6. Both Hip Hop projects spent a week at #1.

R&B vocalist Brent Faiyaz saw his Wasteland album drop seven spots to #9. Lil Durk’s former Billboard 200 chart-topper, 7220, slipped from #8 to #10 on the most recent rankings. 7220 clocked in two weeks at #1 in 2022.

The Internet Drags Logan Paul For His Review Of Jordan Peele’s ‘Nope’

The latest horror movie from filmmaker Jordan Peele is the #1 movie in America this week. While the motion picture garnered positive reactions from film critics and audience members, Logan Paul is not a fan.

Logan Paul decided to share his thoughts about Nope on his Twitter page. The WWE wrestler opened by praising Jordan Peele (Get Out) and lead actress Keke Palmer (Hustlers).

NOPE is one of the worst movies I’ve seen in a long time. I love Jordan Peele and Keke Palmer can act her ass off, but this movie is objectively slow and confusing with stretched themes that don’t justify the pace,” tweeted Paul.

He ended his 13-tweet thread by posting, “I love Peele, the VFX & aesthetic. But my thesis is this: I can feel him attempting to recreate the shock from Get Out and Us. Mystery, violent allure & cinematic choices made for the sake of reaction instead of [a] legitimate contribution to the storyline killed this movie for me.”

People Bring Up Logan Paul’s Own Poor-Received Filmography

Many other Twitter users reacted to Paul’s criticism about Nope. The topic became so popular that the 27-year-old YouTuber’s name became a trending topic on the platform as other people slammed Paul for his comments.

One Twitter user responded, “So you’re telling me the movie’s very clear commentary on spectacle (and the lengths people will go to capture it) was totally missed by Logan Paul, the guy that vlogged himself and his friends laughing at a dead body in the Aokigahara forest in Japan. The irony is beyond cosmic.”

Another person wrote, “Every question that Logan Paul asked is explained in the movie. Maybe people look at films differently or he spent [too] much time questioning everything while watching so it distracted them from actually gathering the answers to his questions.”

Other individuals pointed out that Logan Paul’s own filmography mostly includes critically-panned movies such as The Thinning and Valley Girl. Meanwhile, Nope brought in $44 million at the domestic box office on its opening weekend.

Hitman Holla Signs $100,000 Battle Rap Reality TV Tournament Deal

Hitman Holla just shook up the battle rap culture with an exciting announcement that could see the sport catapulted to the mainstream.

The Wild N’ Out star, a legendary battle rapper in his own right, took to Twitter last week (Jul 21.), teasing a “big announcement.”

Battle rap fans didn’t have too long to wait for the big reveal as Hitman Holla shared his plans the following day. He wasn’t capping when he said he had something big lined up for the culture, unveiling his plans for a battle rap reality TV show with a $100,000 prize.

“I jus signed a TV deal.. I got my own battle rap tv show coming,” Hitman penned on Friday. “12 battlers in a Mansion for 6weeks.. last man standing wins $100,000 .. having live auditions in 4 major cities in August.

He also asked his followers for suggestions on potential housemates for the show, which begins shooting later this year. “Tag who y’all think should be on tv and in the house !! we Start filming in October.. 😈” Hitman Holla added.

Hitman Holla Wants To Break New Talent In Battle Rap

Things began quickly taking shape, and Hitman returned on Sunday to gather more feedback from his fans. From his questions, it appears Hitman Holla wants to spotlight new talent, although he wants as much feedback as possible.

“Question .. should it be 12 fresh faces in the house .. or a mixture of low tier along wit the new names? 1 or 2 mid tier in the mix? I want y’all opinion I wanna make this show the best thing on TV! Talk to me?

He also held a Twitter Spaces discussion, sharing more details about the $100,000 tournament. He revealed he’s holding auditions in his New York City, L.A., Houston, and his home city of St. Louis.

However, Hitman Holla is conscious that similar ventures in the past, like Eminem’s Total Slaughter in 2014, lacked the community’s involvement and didn’t have an authentic battle rap feel. He said he will include the community throughout the tournament, with well-known faces coming on to represent. Media platform and battler Di Da Hennyman captured the entire conversation. Listen to it here.

Furthermore, as Let’s Talk Battle Rap reported, “Hitman Holla has big plans for the future,” with a lew league following the tournament.

Kylie Jenner Sparks Pregnancy Rumors With Cryptic Response To Travis Scott Post

Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner’s on-again-off-again relationship looks very much back on if recent posts are anything to go by.

The reality TV starlet and beauty mogul took to TikTok last week (Jul. 21), sharing a tender video of her and her boo snuggled up together. The pair looked relaxed as Travis lay down with his head nestled on Kylie’s stomach.

Kylie Jenner & Travis Scott Wedding Rumors

A rumor circulated earlier in the week that the pair were planning a secret wedding after an online account claiming to be Kourtney Kardashian’s son Mason claimed that Kylie recently celebrated a bridal party.

“Kylie is getting married and … that’s why she’s the only one wearing white!!!” the fake account shared.

However, the eldest Kardashian sister swiftly shut down the claims stating her son was not responsible for the post.

“Hello everyone, hope it is a beautiful Thursday,” she began. “After months and months of thinking you would all know that is NOT Mason on these fake accounts, some of you don’t. So I will spell it out clearly : that is NOT Mason on these fake social media accounts talking about our family.”

However, Kylie’s recent online posts and comments have left fans speculating that the couple is expecting another baby. The couple already has two children together; four-year-old daughter Stormi and five-month-old son Wolf.

Travis Scott took to Instagram on Sunday posting a snap of his arrival back in New York following his performance at Rolling Loud Miami this weekend. But it was Kylie Jenner’s response in the comment section that had the rumor mill whipped into a frenzy.

She left a flirty comment which included a possible hint she could be pregnant, responding with an emoji of a smiley face with tongue out and several of a pregnant brunette rubbing her belly.

Fans in the comment section took Kylie’s response to mean she was pregnant and reacted with excitement. Travis also left his own reply, suggesting he was rushing to see his boo.

Meanwhile, earlier this month, the loved-up couple shared a selfie which could be another clue that new arrival is due, with Travis lovingly placing his hand on Kylie’s stomach.

Kodak Black Joins Kendrick Lamar At Rolling Loud Miami For Debut ‘Silent Hill’ Performance

Kendrick Lamar surprised fans with a guest appearance from Kodak Black during his headline set at Rolling Loud on Sunday (Jul.24).

The “Super Gremlin” hitmaker had performed earlier in the evening, entertaining the crowd at Hard Rock Stadium with his own hits.

Kodak Black was soon followed on stage by Lil Baby before the arrival of the main event, Kendrick Lamar, who closed the three-day festival. The Compton native rocked the stage with hits from his latest album, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, before surprising the audience with his “Silent Hill” collaborator.

A shirtless Kodak Black joined Kendrick Lamar to perform the track for the first time. Check out a clip of their performance below.

The Grammy Award winner received online backlash for heavily featuring Kodak on his fifth studio album, released in May. Many slammed the rapper, branding the decision irresponsible in light of the sexual assault allegations against the Florida native.

Kodak Black was accused of allegedly raping a teenage girl in his South Carolina hotel room in November 2016. He accepted a plea deal in April of 2021, pleading guilty to first-degree assault, and was sentenced to 18 months of probation. He addressed the victim, who watched the court proceedings from a live feed. “I apologize this happened, and I’m hopeful we can all move forward,” he said.

Before performing with Kendrick Lamar at the weekend, Kodak Black found himself in trouble with the law yet again. He was arrested after cops allegedly found 31 oxycodone tablets and almost $75,000 in cash in the rapper’s automobile. Broward County officials charged the rapper with drug trafficking and possession of a controlled substance.

However, Kodak Black says the medication was his own. His attorney backs him up, claiming a doctor prescribed the pills. He told TMZ that the rapper received the prescription due to chronic pain after getting shot earlier this year.

Keke Palmer Responds To Comparisons To Zendaya & Viral Colorism Discussion

Keke Palmer has responded to a viral tweet comparing her career to that of fellow actress Zendaya and the role colorism had played in their success in Hollywood, declaring she’s “an incomparable talent.”

The discussion arose following her starring role in Jordan Peele’s new movie Nope, opposite Daniel Kaluuya. Many online claimed the movie was Keke Palmer’s breakout moment, propelling her into the mainstream. Others argued that she’s been a household name since she was a child.

The “Akeelah and the Bee” star began trending on Twitter after someone suggested that colorism in Hollywood is to blame for the differences in the mainstream popularity of the two former child stars.

However, after catching wind of the conversation, Keke Palmer distanced herself from the comparisons and reminded fans of who she is.

Keke Palmer Responds To Zendaya Comparisions

“A great example of colorism is to believe I can be compared to anyone,” she began. “I’m the youngest talk show host ever. The first Black woman to star in her own show on Nickelodeon, & the youngest & first Black Cinderella on broadway. I’m an incomparable talent. Baby, THIS, is Keke Palmer.”

She continued, “I’ve been a leading lady since I was 11 years old. I have over 100+ credits, and currently starring in an original screenplay that’s the number one film at the box office #NOPE. I’ve had a blessed career thus far, I couldn’t ask for more but God continues to surprise me.🥹🥳❤️🙏🏾”

While Zendaya has yet to respond to the chatter, she has been vocal in the past about the privilege her light skin affords her as a Black woman in Hollywood. “I am Hollywood’s acceptable version of a Black girl and that has to change,” she said in 2018. “We’re vastly too beautiful and too interesting for me to be the only representation of that.” Check out the clip below.

Rolling Loud Rumors: Did Kanye Wear Black Face, Travis Scott Uncanceled, Quavo & Caresha?

The Rolling Loud festival has been going on for the entire weekend in Miami. It has been every interesting. There’s been something to talk about every night. But, I am going to home in on a couple of specifics. First of all, did Kanye West undercut and undo former friend and comrade Kid Cudi? Its my understanding that Kid Cudi was the “inspiration” for Kanye’s album 808 & Heartbreaks. That’s another story. Sooooooo…Cudi cut Kanye off and, I think upset the billionaire! Sooooooo Kanye and Cudi aren’t friends. Then, Travis Scott is banned from Rolling Loud due to the Astroworld tragedy.

Kanye was supposed to headline yesterday for Rolling Loud but he canceled in solidarity with Travis Scott. Then they moved Kid Cudi in the headlining slot. THEN, people started to treat Kid Cudi like trash and throwing actual trash at him. One bonked him in the head. He left! It was at that moment that Kanye West came out during Lil Durk’s set on another stage at Rolling Loud! And then later..Future brought out TRAVIS SCOTT! Nobody let poo Kid Cudi in on the gag!

Sooooooooo…..lets talk Kanye West. Did he have on blackface on top of his black face or what??

And then there’s Quavo and Diddy’s young jawn. Are they a thing? Diddy has his other things going on too, so maybe they just have an open situation.

Back to Travis Scott. It seemed like he was welcomed with open arms after being unwelcome with closed fists. I think it is good that they have permitted him back in the house.

But, some have asked about Travis’s well-being.

Some say he looks rather unhealthy and thin. Was he running out of breath in your opinion? It seemed like it to me. It would have been just that he has not been really performing all that much. Future keep him out there longer than he expected, I would imagine. The bros helped the bro up.Most of all, it seems like the Astroworld tragedy has taken a major toll on him mentally and physically. By the way, rumor has it that whole thing has been financially devastating for him as well. I know he got money, but no income often means money goes fast af.

What say you?

Lizzo Says Beyoncé Inspired Her To Put Teachable Moments In Music

Lizzo has credited Beyoncé with inspiring her to include “teachable” moments in her songs.

In an interview for ELLE U.K.’s September 2022 issue, Lizzo expressed her excitement over the superstar’s upcoming album Renaissance, which is set to be released on July 29th.

Reflecting on Beyonce’s music, Lizzo explained that she is hugely influenced by how the 40-year-old delves into important social themes in her lyrics and videos.

“(Beyoncé) doesn’t just put out music for the sake of putting out music – there’s going to be something real, you know what I mean? A teachable moment,” she commented. “Every time I hear her, it’s like, ‘Man, I want to make people feel this way. How can I make people feel this way, too?'”

Lizzo recalled how she first saw Beyoncé at a Destiny’s Child album signing staged at a Walmart in Houston, Texas, at the age of 10.

She’s never forgotten the emotion she felt watching the group perform a gospel medley and hopes to replicate it in her own performances.

“I skipped school to go see them. I listened to them sing their gospel medley. I’ve seen Beyoncé maybe up to 10 times live now, and she continues to give me that feeling,” the 34-year-old added.

Ed Sheeran Shares Tribute To U.K. Rap Icon Jamal Edwards On New Single Ft. Russ & Jammer

Ed Sheeran dropped his new single “Are You Entertained” featuring Russ with a video curated by U.K. music visionary Jamal Edwards who tragically passed away the day before the video shoot began. Check out the video at the end of the article.

The British singer announced the video with a heartfelt caption, explaining how he first met Russ at an NYC restaurant. The two were already fans of the other’s music, and they swiftly clicked. A short while after that initial meeting, he reached out to the rapper with ideas for a new song.

Ed Sheeran also contacted Jamal Edwards to direct the video, “knowing that he would create something incredible for us. Jamal then planned it out for the next couple of months, sending me locations, ideas, cameos, trying to make it the best video any of us could make. We were meant to shoot in February, but the day before Russ flew out, Jamal tragically died,” Sheeran explained.

Jamal Edwards, DJ, philanthropist, and founder of classic U.K. online music platform SB.TV, which he launched from his bedroom when he was 15, passed away suddenly in February aged 31. Last month, his mother, Brenda Edwards, revealed he died from a heart attack after taking recreational drugs.

Jamal Edwards’ SB.TV became a springboard for much of the U.K.’s Hip-Hop talent and other artists, including Ed Sheeran. He had an influential role in the early careers of some of the best British artists of the genre, including Stormzy, Skepta, Dave, Lady Leshurr, AJ Tracey, and Headie One

Shortly after his death, Ed Sheeran admitted, “I would not be here without him, professionally and personally.”

U.K. grime legend Jammer posted the new video “In loving memory” of Jamal Edwards. He shared his last conversation with Jamal, where they discussed the track. “I want you in it Jam!!,” he recalled. ”He was always about bringing people together and shinning a light. I’m glad we was able to execute your vision!! I hope this makes you proud. This year has been a tough one 💔 #JamalForever.”

DaBaby Explains Why He Is NOW A Trump Supporter

DaBaby!

DaBaby has offered an opinion nobody asked for. He recently gave a ringing endorsement to former US president Donald Trump. He did an interview with a podcast and he was asked about The Donald.

I guess this has been on his mind because he gave a coherent response. So, when Donald Trump runs again in 2024, he has a strong supporter in this rapper. I am not clear on why rappers feel the need to present their political views, especially when they are backed by nothing substantial. Being “Gangsta” is not something that makes you eligible or qualified to run for office. Or run a country.

A post shared by AllHipHop (@allhiphopcom)

And yet, here we are.

DaBaby cited Trump’s last-minute pardoning of Kodak Black back in 2020 and helping Lil Wayne as an examples for getting his support. Perhaps he sees trouble down the line for himself? “Do I f**k with Donald Trump? Now, hell yeah!” he said. In the past, it has been the complete opposite. DaBaby explained, “Trump is a gangsta.” He also revealed that he would love to be a “campaign partner” for the president fully submerged in a scandal that is 1,000 times worse than Watergate. Read a book!

Also, getting other notable rappers out of jail does not enhance your status in the Black community to me. I actually believe that he would need to free Mumia Abu Jamal, Grandmaster Jay or H. Rap Brown or some folks like that to get favor from the people.

Otherwise, DaBaby is just Trump’s latest “African-American.”

Jordan Peele Explains How He Came Up With The Concept For “Nope”

Jordan Peele wanted to write about the sky while trapped indoors during the COVID-19 lockdowns – which is how he came up with his new sci-fi horror movie “Nope.”

Known for adding social commentary to the horror genre, Peele was recently dubbed the best horror director of all time by comic book creator Adam Ellis – a claim the filmmaker quickly refuted.

Speaking about his UFO tale “Nope,” which stars Keke Palmer and his Get Out leading man Daniel Kaluuya, Peele revealed where the idea came from.

“I wrote (the film) trapped inside and so I knew I wanted to make something that was about the sky,” he told GQ. “I knew the world would want to be outside and at the same time, I knew we had this newfound fear from this trauma, from this time of what it meant to go outside. Can we go outside? So I slipped some of that stuff in.”

Palmer interjected: “That’s so sneaky how you do that.”

Asked why he decided to add a sci-fi element to his new project, Jordan Peele explained that he saw a gap in the market for his style.

“I felt like the big summer blockbuster spectacle film, and specifically the Great American Flying Saucer Story is something where I haven’t felt my perspective represented to the fullest,” he shared.

Hip-Hop Preacher Bishop Lamor M. Whitehead Robbed While Preaching During Sunday Service Livestream

A flashy New York preacher, who recently linked to multiple A-list rappers and Mayor Eric Adams, was the victim of a robbery during his Sunday sermon in his Carnasie church, Leaders of Tomorrow (Brooklyn campus) on July 24.

Just before the brazen attack, Bishop Lamor M. Whitehead asked, “How many of you have lost your faith because you saw somebody else die with what you were about to go through”

At least three assailants interrupted Bishop Whitehead’s proclamation from with guns drawn, running up on him as the media team streamed the service live on Facebook around 11:14 a.m.

The video was taken down by the church, but captured elsewhere.

Dressed in a burgundy and gold suit, the clergyman, who also spoke at Biz Markie and Black Rob’s funerals, immediately takes to the floor at the sight of the armed men. He says “All right, all right, all right,” as the first thug digs into his pockets and takes out wads of cash. He also takes the Bishop’s gold ring.

The criminal drops the ring and goes back to pick it up, the video showed.

A second gunman then goes to the stage-setting pulpit and goes into the preacher’s pockets again — seemingly looking for something. He leaves shortly after, with nothing.

The third guy, who was tall and thin, did not assault the preacher but continued to tell the on-watching in-person congregation not to move.

According to a police report, the thieves rolled out with $400,000 in jewelry.

A man sitting in the back and on the side of the preacher, never budged, until the men left.

Whitehead, a Brooklyn pastor who once was convicted in 2016 of a fraudulent auto-loan scheme where he was charged with identity theft and grand larceny, has turned his life around. Now reformed, ordained, and consecrated as a Bishop, he serves the people while driving a Rolls Royce and dripping in Fendi and other Italian designers.

He is also good friends with Eric Adams, the second Black mayor of the city of New York.

“I was arrested at 15 years old … and because people embraced me when I was arrested, I embrace Lamor Whitehead,” the Mayor said in 2016. “I will continue to give him the support and guidance that was given to me to become a cop, a state senator, and a borough president.”

One way that he has shown he is reformed is by working with the next generation and helping them do better. He invests a lot of his time mentoring rappers and other influencers with their ears to the street, a community he believes the church has left behind.

In December of 2020, when Fivio Foreign did a toy drive for incarcerated children, he announced his bid for the Borough Presidency of New York.

He is also related to rapper Foxy Brown and spoke at Biz Markie’s homegoing service saying that when artists “came into the room he shifted the atmosphere.” At the start of the service, Whitehead recited Psalm 23 for those in attendance to hear.

In 2018, 50 Cent came into his old church for the “Bridging the Gap” event.

Whitehead’s sermon for the day was titled “Get The Strap,” 50’s signature tagline.

“We must understand that it’s alright to get the strap because where we have come from, our protection is to ‘get the strap’ that’s the only thing that is respected in our community…” said Bishop Whitehead according to Vibe.com.

“Now don’t get it twisted no weapon formed against me shall prosper…so we must understand that ‘the strap’ is in prayer,” he said.

The minister really touched 50 Cent. He gave remarks, captured by Tuma Basa, formerly of Spotify and the Head of Hip-Hop music over at YouTube.

He said, “I got something out of it. I really feel that there was a completely different approach to try to reach us in a different way by using the terminology by using the slang and it kind of made me pay attention a little more…Even though it might seem outlandish–the approach–it’s effective.”

Regarding his robbery, the Bishop has since went on Instagram to let people know he was doing fine and he was lucky that God spared his life. He also asked for anyone with information leading to an arrest to inbox him.

Kendrick Lamar Brings Security Guard To Tears

Kendrick!

First of all, let me just establish this. I grew up in the 1990s. This was probably the most rugged period in hip-hop history. I know the 80s were tough, but those were times that were largely regulated to New York, Los Angeles, Miami and other places. The crack epidemic was fully realized, drug kingpins were born, and Hip Hop was at its zenith in the 1990s.

That said, as I started to get into the culture a lot more and go to concerts, security matched the environment. These were some of the hardest dudes in the history of man. Sometimes it was the fruit of Islam, other times it was reformed criminals that became security and most times it was literally the biggest people on the face of the earth staring down at you as you walk into a club or a venue.

That said we are in a different area! This is the Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Megan Thee Stallion era. So, this happened:

I am not going to be critical of homeboy, because when you feel things, you feel things! But in the interest of safety and security I would be slightly concerned with somebody that was so emotionally touched by a rapper in the midst of possible danger. Or not! The truth is, this is a crazy song and Kendrick Lamar is a crazy artist (in a good way). I believe that the crowd was so enamored by this amazing performance that they wouldn’t dare try to mess it up.

I wish the security of my era was like that. Trust me, the people that protected DMX and Onyx acted like they could have been on the stage wilding out! We were wilding out! They were wilding out! Everybody was wilding out! I don’t see the K-Dot crowd as the types to cause calamity and chaos like we did.

And I really don’t know what to say also about it.
