Erykah Badu Fires Shots From “Mama’s Gun” At Beyoncé For Allegedly Biting Her Style

For Erykah Badu, imitation is not the highest form of flattery—even if the copycat is none other than Beyoncé herself. Though Queen Bey’s Renaissance Tour has been the source of thousands of daring, metallic looks this summer, Badu senses a tinge of unoriginality in the air. The stylistic culprit and or point of reference in the pseudo beef appears to be a platinum top hat in which both performers donned on stage recently. Badu, who’s currently on her Unfollow Me Tour, aired her grievances in a side-eye-inducing Instagram Story calling Beyoncé out.

“Hmm…I guess I’m everybody stylist,” Badu wrote in the series of posts. With the photos compared side-by-side, it does appear as though the hats are incredibly similar.

If I’m keeping it fully hundun witchu’, both hats are on some 2014 Pharrell Williams “Happy” type ish. But hey, everybody’s so creative, right?

And while Beyoncé’s freakishly functional Beyhive army swarmed on Badu for the petty swipe immediately, it appears the entire moment was a strategic move. But not because Badu was the muse, but because Beyoncé and her mini-me Blue Ivy had previously coordinated a monster Mommy-daughter fashion moment.

Blue made a quick cameo and busted out some quick-hit choreography at the same show her mom rocked the blinged-out Willy Wonka top hat. Considering the fact that Badu’s daughter, Puma, is also beginning to become a more regular fixture at her life shows, you would think that she would’ve let this slide.

6lack Names His Mount Rushmore Of Atlanta Rappers

Atlanta-bred singer/rapper 6lack met up with Chef Dale Talde in Los Angeles for Tastemade’s All Up In My Grill show. Their conversation included the “Calling My Phone” hitmaker discussing various topics.

At one point, Chef Dale asked 6lack to list his choices for a Mount Rushmore of musicians from his hometown. The 31-year-old Love Renaissance representative named artists whose careers took off in the 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s.

”If I could combine Andre and Big Boi into like a connected person on Mount Rushmore, then I would put OutKast right there,” 6lack offered. “I’m gonna jump to the new era because these two artists hand in hand have changed the sound of music today, Future and Yung Thug.”

The Spillage Village collective member also added, “This is where it gets a little tricky because we’ve got T.I., we’ve got Jeezy, we’ve got Luda, we’ve got Gucci. I’m gonna give it to Tip because he had such an impact on my school year.”

6lack named Jermaine Dupri, Usher, Jeezy, Gucci Mane, and Goodie Mob as “heavy” influences on his career in music as well. The 3-time Grammy nominee also discussed his love for hot-lemon pepper chicken wings.

In 2020, 6lack released the 6-track 6pc Hot EP. He told Chef Dale, “[Hot sauce] is so much my thing that I released an EP called 6pc Hot. We even came up with a hot sauce, we had a signing at a wing place. It’s a little bit of an obsession.”

6lack’s latest body of work, Since I Have a Lover, dropped on March 24 via LVRN/Interscope Records. The studio LP features appearances by Don Toliver and Wale. Since I Have a Lover joined an album catalog that also contains 2016’s Free 6lack and 2018’s East Atlanta Love Letter.

Drake Cancels It’s All A Blur Tour Stop In Memphis

Drake has routinely gone viral on social media thanks to newsworthy clips from his ongoing It’s All A Blur Tour with 21 Savage for the last several weeks. However, fans in Tennessee will have to miss out on the concert experience.

According to reports, Drake officially canceled a tour stop in Memphis that was initially re-scheduled for August 6. The trek was supposed to hit Memphis on June 29 before it was postponed.

“Due to the magnitude of the production of the Drake concert, it is logistically impossible to bring the show as designed to the FedExForum on August 6,” a statement from Drake’s representatives read. “Unfortunately, the show is [canceled].”

Drake has a familial connection to Memphis. The Canadian rapper’s father, Dennis Graham, is from the county seat of Shelby County. Drizzy even filmed the 2013 music video for “Worst Behavior” in his dad’s hometown.

In June, Drake received a key to Shelby County. At the time, Shelby Chairman Mickell Lowery told the 36-year-old entertainer, “We love our own. Memphis music touches the world. You got a lot of Memphis blood in you and you’re definitely touching the world.”

Some social media users took offense to the Memphis-area locale presenting Drake with the special honor. Memphis-raised rap star GloRilla addressed a fan who complained about the Toronto native getting the symbolic gift.

Drake and 21 Savage are planning to take the It’s All A Blur Tour to Inglewood, California for multiple dates beginning August 12. The Her Loss album collaborators will also head to San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle and Vancouver later this month.

Halle Bailey Drops Teaser For Solo Single “Angel”

2023 has been a big year for Halle Bailey. She took on the titular role in Disney’s live-action version of The Little Mermaid. In addition to acting, Bailey is focusing on her music career as well.

The music video for Halle’s rendition of The Little Mermaid classic “Part of Your World” racked up over 10 million views on YouTube since its June 9th premiere on the platform.

On Monday (July 31), Halle published a 22-second teaser on her own YouTube channel for the upcoming single “Angel.” The track will officially hit DSPs on Friday, August 4.

Before starring in The Little Mermaid, Halle Bailey teamed up with her sister as part of the R&B duo known as Chloe x Halle. The siblings released two studio albums – 2018’s The Kids Are Alright and 2020’s Ungodly Hour.

The Recording Academy nominated The Kids Are Alright for Best Urban Contemporary Album. Chloe x Halle also scored a Best New Artist nomination at the same Grammy ceremony in 2019. Two years later, Ungodly Hour scored a nod for Best Progressive R&B Album.

Director Rob Marshall’s The Little Mermaid has pulled in over $564 million at the global box office. The Little Mermaid is among the Top 10 highest-grossing films in 2023. In addition to Halle Bailey as Ariel, the movie stars Jonah Hauer-King, Melissa McCarthy, Javier Bardem, Daveed Diggs, Jacob Tremblay, and Awkwafina.

Lil’ Kim Teases Autobiography: “Edits Are Finally Done”

Lil’ Kim is one of the most successful rap stars of her generation. The self-proclaimed Queen Bee has been making history in the culture since her arrival as a member of Junior M.A.F.I.A. in the mid-1990s.

It appears Lil’ Kim is ready to tell her life story in an upcoming memoir titled The Queen Bee. The Grammy-winning recording artist tapped music journalist Kathy Iandoli to help pen the book.

Kim shared an update on her autobiography. On July 31, the Brooklyn-bred rapper posted the title page of what appeared to be the final draft of The Queen Bee on her Instagram account.

“It’s been a long journey beehive, edits are finally done,” Kim wrote in the Instagram caption. “Thank you to my bestie/soulmate @themarcjacobs for doing my [foreword].”

According to Amazon, The Queen Bee will arrive on September 23, 2025. A description on the website reads, “A true page-turner from start to finish, The Queen Bee is every bit as fierce, empowering, and badass as the woman at the heart of this story—and firmly cements her legacy as a true feminist icon.”

Lil’ Kim’s debut album, Hard Core, is widely considered a rap classic. The 1996 studio LP earned a double-platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). She also picked up platinum plaques for 2000’s The Notorious K.I.M. and 2003’s La Bella Mafia.

Numerous modern-day female rappers name Lil’ Kim as one of their musical inspirations. For example, Cardi B shouted out the “Not Tonight” hitmaker in an article for the New York Times. Both Coi Leray and GloRilla recently recreated Lil’ Kim’s iconic “Hard Core” pose.

Drake Pays Tribute To Angus Cloud Following “Euphoria” Star’s Death

Actor Angus Cloud died on July 31 at the age of 25. The Oakland-born entertainer played “Fezco” in the Drake-produced HBO television series, Euphoria.

“It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today,” a message from Angus Cloud‘s family read. “As an artist, a friend, a brother, and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways. Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss.

“The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”

Several of Angus Cloud’s colleagues, including Drake, reacted to the news of his passing on social media. Drake posted a photo of Cloud on his Instagram Story with the caption “Good soul.”

Euphoria became a hit series for the HBO network. The teen drama stars Emmy winner Zendaya, Maude Apatow, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney and Javon Walton.

In addition to portraying a character in Euphoria, Cloud also acted in the films North Hollywood and The Line. Plus, he made an appearance in Juice WRLD’s 2022 music video for “Cigarettes” off the late rapper’s Fighting Demons album.

Blueface Sparks Outrage After Asking 6-Year-Old Son If He’s Gay On Instagram Live

Blueface has sparked anger amongst his fanbase after questioning his six-year-old son’s sexuality for the second time.

The “Thotiana” hitmaker was joined by his son for a question-and-answer session on Instagram Live Monday night (July 31). After asking if his mom has a “fat face,” Blueface changed the topic.

“Are you gay?” he asked the little boy, who replied that he wasn’t. Blueface pumped his fist in relief before announcing to his viewers, “Hey guys, he’s not gay! We got hope.”

While he wanted to continue quizzing his son on the topic, the little boy was keen to move on, admitting he didn’t understand the question. “You know what gay is?” Blueface asked. “No,” his son replied before adding, “I really don’t. What else you got?”

Jaidyen Alexxis, the mother of the rapper’s two children, was off-camera in the back and directed Blueface to change the subject. However, he continued, telling his son that although he would be “upset,” he would accept him if he was gay.

“Well, if you ever decide to be gay, I would be upset but I would still love you. I’ll still support you, take care of you,” he added.

“I’m not that,’ the six-year-old replied as his father said, “Cool,” and gave him a dap.

Last month, Blueface came under fire for questioning his six-year-old son’s sexuality when the little boy left a room with half-naked dancers to find some snacks.

“Son, come here,” Blueface told the little boy, who wandered off to get some food. “It’s booty cheeks out here and you in here looking for chips. You ain’t gay is you?”

His most recent questioning faced a similar backlash. Check out some of the reactions below.

Offset Admits Cardi B Didn’t Cheat; He Invented Infidelity Claims During Tequila-Fueled Row

Offset has admitted Cardi B didn’t cheat on him, despite publicly accusing her of infidelity. The Migos rapper says he only branded his wife a cheater because he was “lit” off tequila and wanted to make her mad.

The “Clout” hitmaker shocked fans when he seemingly exposed his wife’s infidelity via his Instagram Story in June. “My wife f##### a n###a on me gang yall n####s know how I come,” he wrote in a since-deleted post.

However, during a recent appearance on the Way Up with Angela Yee podcast, Offset revealed he shared the post to annoy Cardi B during the heat of an argument.

“That’s my wife. I love her to death, but we’re going back and forth,” he began. “If you’ve got a New York woman, you know, she’s a pitbull at the mouth.”

According to Offset, he shared the post in the midst of a tequila-fueled row. “She get crazy at the mouth a little bit, and I was really lit that night,” he said, adding that he “had a little Casamigos here and there.

“I was lit and we’re going back and forth and I’m like, ‘Watch this,’” he said, referring to the infidelity post.

Ultimately Offset declared, “I love my wife,” admitting he and Cardi B are “crazy for each other.”

Offset And Cardi B Address Rumors On “Jealousy”

The pair playfully addressed the cheating rumors on their new joint single, “Jealousy.” In a promotional skit for the video, Offset took on the role of James Brown from an infamous 1988 CNN interview while Jamie Lee Curtis played an anchor grilling him on the “drama” with his wife.

The rap couple have put the scandal behind them, and Cardi B has put the muzzle on Offset.

“What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas,” the “Point Me 2” hitmaker captioned a steamy video of the pair.

Benzino Says He Once Ran Jay-Z & Dame Dash Out “The Source” Offices With 7 Armed Goons

Ray Benzino took a walk down memory lane recently, looking back at his time as co-owner of The Source. At one point, he recalled a time he claimed he ran Jay-Z and Dame Dash out of the building with the help of more than half a dozen armed men.

During an appearance on the We In Miami Podcast, the former executive was asked if he had ever been pressed while at the magazine. According to Benzino, on one occasion, Jay-Z and Dame Dash came to The Source offices “on some rah rah s###.” He claimed the Roc-A-Fella co-founders were unhappy and “complaining about a cover situation.”

Benzino invited the duo to a meeting to discuss the issue, but he wasn’t taking any chances if things went left. “We had n####s strapped up in different rooms, but they didn’t know that,” he revealed. “We wanted them to think that they was up there with one person.”

Benzino Claims Jay-Z & Dame Dash “Had To Get Up Out Of There”

However, Benzino said once Jay-Z and Dame Dash “started getting loud,” things took a turn. “N####s start coming out them rooms,” he explained. “They had to get up out of there.”

The “Love & Hip-Hop” star said he didn’t know if the duo was armed, but he and his goons were ready for anything. “There was at least seven of us,” he added. “There was at least seven guns up in The Source office at that moment.”

Benzino said it could’ve turned ugly “immediately,” with Jay-Z and Dame Dash if things had gone differently. “If somebody’s pressing up on me, that’s it,” he told his host. “It’s war. Heavens will fall if you trying to press up on me. You trying to bully me? You trying to take something from me? I’m the taker, I grew up taking. Nobody takes from me.” Check out the clip below and watch the interview at the end of the page.

Drake Brings Out Meek Mill At Philly It’s All A Blur Tour Stop

Eight years after their infamous beef began, Drake and Meek Mill were all smiles walking out together to kick off the first night of the It’s All A Blur Tour in Philadelphia.

Since hitting the road on July 5, many of Drizzy’s celebrity friends have joined him onstage or pulled up to his shows to support him.

When the tour rolled into Philly Monday night (July 31), Drake linked up with his former nemesis, Meek Mill, who walked alongside him as he made his entrance at the Wells Fargo Center. Check out the clip below.

Drake And Meek Mill’s Infamous Beef

Meek Mill kicked off one of the most talked about Hip-Hop feuds of recent years, back in July 2015, when he accused Drake of using a ghostwriter on their collaboration “R.I.C.O.” The Philly native went on a Twitter rant blasting comparisons with Drake because “He don’t write his own raps!”

Drake fired back at Meek Mill on wax, first on “Charged Up” before following up just days later with the scathing diss track “Back to Back.” While Meek responded on “Wanna Know,” Drake came out on top and even teased a third diss but never officially released the song.

The beef simmered for another three years before the pair finally squashed the bad blood in 2018. Meek Mill joined Drake onstage in Boston, surprising fans after rising up from a trap door to perform “Dreams And Nightmares.”

“We need more peace in the world, we need more love in the world,” Drake explained to the Boston audience. “Meek Mill, that’s my brother, that’s my n#### from day one. So we were able to day this tonight in front of y’all and I’m very honoured you were here to witness it. Thank you to Meek Mill and all his Dreamchasers family for coming to Boston.”

The duo later collaborated on “Going Bad,” taken from Meek Mill’s 2018 album ‘Championships. Watch the video below.

FBG Duck’s mom and her baby daddy (or boyfriend) have the streets talking and it is for all the wrong reasons. The video depicts a crazy scene of drama. The live stream begins with Duck’s mom going back and forth in a heated exchange with her partner.

Eventually, Mama Duck’s man allegedly runs over her leg with a car. This sudden act of violence is insane and Duck’s mom screams in pain. In the video, Duck’s mom cries for help. Following the posting of the video on Reddit, it sparked an outpouring of concern from viewers who expressed shock and condemnation. This is violence against women and one that is trying to improve the conditions in The Chi.

Toxic relationships, B. This cannot be normalized or brushed aside! Emotional and physical abuse is real. I hope she can get the help she needs.

Top Ten Must-See Concerts and Music Events Playing in the US This Summer

Summer is nearly upon us, and for music fans, this means a wealth of possibilities when it comes to catching fabulous live acts across the country.

2023 is something of a comeback year for live music. The coronavirus pandemic put many tours on hold for the best part of two years, but now things are back in motion, and all your favorite bands and artists are on the road, ready to entertain you.

Another factor that is driving a renaissance in live music comes due to technological leaps that have occurred, meaning that the internet has pretty much rendered the purchasing of physical music null and void.

This means that bands and artists as a whole are looking to maximize the potential revenue they can secure from playing live; this has led to far more concerts taking place, as well as a marked improvement in the overall production of these shows.

If you are keen to see your musical heroes on stage, then this is where to buy concert tickets, a handy overview of the different sites out there that can aid you in your endeavors.

To get you in the mood ahead of the summer season, here are ten acts and events you are going to want to attend in the United States in 2023.

Billy Joel and Stevie Nicks

Why watch one legend when you can watch two? The piano man himself teams up with Fleetwood Mac siren Stevie Nicks on a number of US dates, the first of which sees the duo playing the Foxborough in September, followed by a slew of other great performances across the country.

Metallica

There are not many acts that generate as much anticipation and excitement as when Metallica is in town. The experienced rockers will be bursting out tunes like Enter Sandman in the United States this year, with a series of gigs at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium being a potential highlight.

Coldplay

This English band put on a spectacular show and now have an arsenal of hits that makes them a fantastic act to watch live this year. Their world tour rolls back into the United States in September, and their dates at the SnapDragon Stadium in San Diego look particularly inviting.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift is perhaps the most popular singer-songwriter on the planet right now, and when she announces tour dates, they sell out in literally seconds; that is a testament to her amazing popularity.

She’ll be playing across the United States in 2023, and from July, she’ll be ably supported by the excellent HAIM, so even more of a reason to get your tickets now!

Maroon 5

If you’ve never seen Adam Levine and the boys in action, then you need to rectify this immediately, especially if you are a big fan of the Moves Like Jagger stars. They play a series of big gigs in Las Vegas in July and beyond, and this may be the best location to join their tour in 2023.

Katy Perry

Another act that is going big on Las Vegas in 2023 is Katy Perry, and the I Kissed a Girl star has a series of sell-out dates in the Resorts World arena that are sure to be nothing short of astounding.

Katy Perry is the consummate professional and puts on a show that is equal parts musically adept and something of an over-the-top catwalk, and you are going to love every single minute!

Rod Stewart

Even with his advancing years, Rod Stewart is a rocker at heart, and his endless list of hits will keep you entertained across the US in 2023. From late July, he’ll make his way across the country, starting with shows in Nevada, Colorado, and Arizona before heading to New York with immense support act Cheap Trick.

Ed Sheeran

The ginger Brit has captivated the US audience ever since he waltzed into town, and he is as popular as ever, and his stadium shows are pure perfection. As he plays the US leg of his world tour, he’s also joined by some very capable support acts, including Khalid and Ben Kweller.

Lollapalooza 2023

This festival is quite the occasion, and every year it hits the spot, and the line-up for 2023 does not disappoint. Among the leading acts to take the many stages for the event in Chicago are Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, Lana Del Rey, and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. There is literally something for everyone.

Austin City Limits Festival 2023

The line-up for 2023’s Austin City Limits is a great fusion of musical genres and a veritable who’s who of top talent. Among those on stage are Kendrick Lamar, the Foo Fighters, Mumford and Sons, Shania Twain, and Alanis Morissette).

These are just a small selection of the great music events that are taking place in the United States in the summer and fall, and frankly, this list could have numbered 100+ and still only be discussing monumental never to be missed concerts. So what are you waiting for? Get your ticket and enjoy the show!

Summer Walker Seems To Break Up With Lil Meech

Summer Walker appears to have parted ways with Lil Meech, as indicated in a series of stark black-and-white Instagram Story posts shared this week. In her first post, she wrote, “I tried my best to be Jayda Wayda, but I couldn’t. It was cute though. I wish him the best.”

The statement caused a frenzy among fans, especially with the second sentence, which seemed to imply a clear message. The post strongly suggested that Walker was no longer in a relationship with Lil Meech. She further reinforced this notion with a second post that left little room for interpretation, stating, “Can’t do cheatin stuff.” Although she didn’t explicitly confirm the breakup, fans swiftly connected the dots and concluded that the posts served as an announcement of their separation.

Well, ain’t that some BS!? They seemed to happy! They seemed like a lil cute ball of ratchetness!

He recently posted photos of him and his Summer together, accompanied by a caption saying “4life.” However, this declaration now takes on new significance with the recent reports of their alleged split. Ironically, summer is almost over too. She couldn’t wait until September or October to make it more ironic? Anway.

The situation garnered attention, even drawing comments from relevant celebrities. Jayda Cheaves herself chimed in on an Instagram post summarizing the events. “Mfers stay tryna be cap cool in DMs, but weird publicly. That’s why I be off this s##t,” she wrote in her Instagram Story. Jayda Cheaves is Lil Baby’s baby mother, in case you didn’t know. People were not feeling that either.

Well, only time will tell.

By the way, here’s our old Lil Meech interview.

Also, check out this interview with Roccett who explains why he’s no longer managing Lil Meech but is still cool with BMF.

“It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today,” Angus Cloud’s family said in a statement to multiple outlets. “As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways. Last week, he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend.”

Big Pokey Autopsy Reveals Rapper’s Cause Of Death

Houston’s Big Pokey died after suffering a heart attack in June. Justice of the Peace Tom Gillam III confirmed the rapper’s cause of death to KFDM in Beaumont, Texas on Monday (July 31).

“The cause of death, according to the final autopsy report, is hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease,” Gillam said. “In layman’s terms, Big Pokey had a severe heart attack.”

Big Pokey, whose real name was Milton Powell, collapsed while performing at a Beaumont bar on June 17. He passed away at a local hospital on June 18.

The 48-year-old rapper was one of the most recognizable members of the DJ Screw-led collective, Screwed Up Click. Big Pokey was featured on DJ Screw’s “June 27th Freestyle,” an iconic song in Houston Hip-Hop history.

Big Pokey released several albums but was probably best known for his debut Hardest Pit in the Litter. The project included his song “Ball N Parlay,” which became a staple of the Tuskegee University marching band.

Last month, Bun B paid tribute to the late artist by creating a meal named after the S.U.C. member at Trill Burgers. Bun B partnered with Exotic Pop, which released a Big Pokey peach soda with 100 percent of the profits to his family.

Diddy Reportedly Furious Michael Rubin Has Stolen His All-White Party ‘Pause King’ Crown

Diddy apparently isn’t feeling the streets alleging his all-white parties aren’t as lit as Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin’s.

The commotion began last month with the internet rumblings of Lil Baby and Kyle Kuzma’s zesty photoshoots with Rubin—and Kim Kardashian and Tom Brady’s spicy dancefloor link-up at the party on July 3. In fact, Diddy was reportedly so p##### off that Hip-Hop media has given Rubin’s recent all-white soirée the crown for best industry function that he phoned up and cussed out a notorious gatekeeper. That is after allegedly text-bombing him for ducking his calls.

Diddy dropped the “Brother Love” act real quick and was apparently aggressively texting the OG “pick up n####” when his Instagram video calls were getting screened. Being coerced into getting chewed out for a podcast hot-take about a themed party is the craziest, most egomaniacal industry s### I’ve ever heard—so pretty on brand for Diddy if you think about it. This is low-key up there with the Making The Band Brooklyn Bridge cheesecake stunt.

Though there’s no telling how deep under Diddy’s skin Rubin’s Hampton’s shindig has nestled, we all can be sure Puff will be seeking some type of vengeance. Folks said he’s the only muthaf##### that will threaten you with a smile—and I believe it. Y’all seen that video of Diddy in his Joker costume last Halloween? When bro gets into a character, he really be big tripping.

@diddy

Hello my friends, I’m the Joker. I’m highjacking Halloween! Hahahaha 🃏🖕🏿🎃

At any rate, Diddy has 35 days from the date of publication to host this year’s trendiest all-white party before Labor Day descends and coke boy fits are considered tacky.

K Carbon shared the same flyer to her Instagram account. She wrote in the caption, “I’m Calling All Elementary, Middle & High School Moms To Come Out This Sunday And Get Those Babies FREE Back To School Items.”

Due to the injuries suffered by two individuals during the incident, the court has mandated Pooh Sheisty to make restitution in the amount of $156,585 as part of his sentencing for the crime. The fine is in addition to his prison term. A portion of the restitution will be sourced from the earnings he accumulates during his 63-month prison sentence.

Upon his release, Pooh Sheisty will serve three years of supervised probation, during which he’ll be required to undergo a treatment program for drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Summer Walker Drags Jayda Cheaves Into Apparent Breakup With Lil Meech

Summer Walker seemingly announced her breakup with Lil Meech via her Instagram Stories on Monday (July 31). The singer referenced Jayda Cheaves in one post but did not call out Lil Meech by name.

“Tried my best to be Jayda Wayda but I couldn’t,” Summer Walker wrote. “It was cute though. I wish him the best.” She added, “Can’t do that cheatin’ stuff.”

Summer Walker also posted a video of her appearance on Yung Miami’s Caresha Please podcast. The clip featured the singer expressing her frustrations over men lying.

The Interscope Records artist faced online backlash for mentioning Cheaves, who famously dated Lil Baby. Jayda Cheaves responded in an Instagram comment after seeing her name get dragged into Walker and Lil Meech’s breakup drama.

“I learned my lesson after ONE kid,” she wrote. “Mfers round here starting they own trends and tryna INSERT ME in for laughs on the shade room. NO.”

Earlier this year, Summer Walker confirmed she was in a relationship with Lil Meech. The two attended the 2023 BET Awards together in June.

A few weeks ago, a woman said Lil Meech got her pregnant while he was dating Summer Walker. Lil Meech denied the claim, insisting he did not know the woman.

EXCLUSIVE: Lionel Boyce On How Hulu’s “The Bear” Keeps It A Buck

Fans all over the world have been pleasantly surprised by the true-to-life storytelling that has seemed like child’s play for the writers of Hulu’s “The Bear.” Created by Christopher Storer, “The Bear” tells the story of a culinary prodigal son who returns to Chicago to help run the family restaurant after a brief stint as a top chef in New York City.

Starring Jeffrey Allen White (Carmine), Ebon Moss Bachrach (Ritchie), Ayo Edibiri (Sydney), Liza Colón-Zayas (Tina), Edwin Lee Gibson (Ebraheim), Lionel Boyce (Marcus) and a diverse cast of characters culled from Americana, the show has received high praise for a myriad of reasons—directing, writing, character arc and the manner in which the series uses levity whenever possible but brandishes true to life hardships when needed.

Diversity, while apparent, isn’t used as a forced measure of public appeal but a true reflection of life in a big city restaurant. AllHipHop recently spoke with Lionel Boyce, who plays Marcus on “The Bear.”

AllHipHop: The entire aesthetic of “The Bear” is multicultural. It’s natural, appropriate and free flowing. And its storyteller telling. There are four different Black characters on the show, and none of them are alike.

Lionel Boyce: I think it’s super cool. To me, you don’t really see that. And then, there’s been times where you are working on something where they want the actor to fit into what they want the scene to be.

But you realize, “Oh, they don’t understand a reference point or any of that stuff.” For me, it’s like a natural. You just knock it down. But not only do they not understand that, they also have the audacity to decide “this is what I think is how it should be, or it needs to be.”

With this show it’s great because Chris Storer, who created the show, he’s a person who just understands. He’s like, “I hired people. And I’m looking for honesty and truth and reality, not trying to create and make something fit.”

And so he hired us. Also, it has a diverse writing room. So it was like, it’s not just all white people writing and making the show. It’s just that you have a lot of different perspectives. And so, it just felt real. And I mean, I’m even bringing Edwin Moss Bachrach, who plays Ritchie, and we actually talk about that.

It’s really cool, like you see Black men having a conversation. There’s no conflict in our conversations when we interact. And it’s great. It’s like, it’s not like a typical show in that way. And I think it is cool. It’s just like a bunch of smart people making a real and honest, specific thing, rather than trying to make the idea of something. And I think that’s what it boils down to. That’s what makes this show feel different in that specific regard.

AllHipHop: Of all these diverse characters, if you weren’t playing Marcus, which of the other characters would you like to portray and why?

Lionel Boyce: I would do nowhere near as good of a job at it as Ebon does, but I would be playing Ritchie. That’s my favorite character because I love characters like that. Like it’s a character looking for a hill to die on. And I love that. He was one of those headstrong people, he’s combative.

But I think either him or Neil Fak, who Matty [Matheson] plays just because he gets all the good jokes. He gets a lot of good jokes. I told him “I am jealous, man. I wish I can get to riff a little bit more with you this season. We get into it a couple times, but I wanted more. But I wish I could just riff more with you because it’s fun.”

AllHipHop: From season one, we see that nothing ever really bothers your character, Marcus. He sort of rolls with the punches.  But, from the first episode of season 2, we see foreshadowing into his life.

Lionel Boyce: I think you can expect this to continue cultivating his passion. He has found this thing that he loves and now he’s like, “I want to get great at it.”

We watched his journey of him take it to the next step while also dealing with what’s going on at home. Because this season is very much about all the characters’ lives outside of the kitchen, because we’re rebuilding the kitchen.

So, it’s like, “Well, who are these people?” Are we take the time to get back over to the kitchen. And so you see him delegate time and care. You see how much time he pays to things, what it’s like to deal with a ticking clock with an expiration date that he feels is coming soon due the state that his mother’s in.

So, how does that affect the mental? And how do you find relief and expression for yourself within all of that? And I think that’s what you’re watching over the course of the season. And it’s like, he finds the solace in coming up with desserts and creation in his work.

AllHipHop: Since you’re speaking with AllHipHop, who is a Hip-Hop artist that describes your current vibe. And, if you know it, flow it.

Lionel Boyce: You won’t catch me flowing the lyrics, but what I have been listening to is “Verses From The Abstract” by A Tribe Called Quest. Just because it’s at the top of my mind, and I’ve always loved that song. So, I’m going to go with that one, but I’m not rapping it though.

The entire second season of “The Bear” is currently streaming on Hulu.
