Chris Rock is currently on a press tour to promote Spiral: From the Book of Saw. While the entertainment legend is pushing the new Darren Lynn Bousman-directed horror film, he also took time to tease another potential project with two fellow comedy greats.
Apple Music 1’s Ebro Darden caught up with Chris Rock to discuss the Spiral movie and its 21 Savage-led soundtrack. The conversation also included the actor/executive producer mentioning Dave Chappelle and Adam Sandler while referencing Dr. Dre’s infamous never-released music project.
“There’s this movie – the Holy Grail with me, Dave [Chappelle], and [Adam] Sandler that I’m working on. That’s the Holy Grail,” Rock told Darden. “That’s the Detox album we’ve been waiting for it. You know what I mean? It’s like, ‘Is Detox ever coming out?’”
21 Savage eventually joined the discussion to talk about his role in creating the 4-track Spiral: From the Book of Saw Soundtrack. The Grammy winner is a big fan of the Saw franchise, and he got the stamp of approval from Chris Rock’s daughters to curate the accompanying music collection.
In addition to a 21 Savage single, the Spiral soundtrack hosts songs by Young Nudy, Gunna, Young Thug, and more. 21 Savage filmed a music video for the title track “Spiral.” The visual accumulated over 2 million views on YouTube since it was published on April 30.
“It’s the craziest s### I ever did in my life in a video. Blood rushing to my head, I’m hanging upside down. I’m like, ‘Man, hurry up. Let me down. Let me down.’ That’s s###’s crazy, bro. I ain’t even going to lie,” said 21 Savage about his experience shooting the “Spiral” video.
Spiral: From the Book of Saw was released in theaters on May 14 via Lionsgate. The cast includes Chris Rock, Samuel L. Jackson, Max Minghella, Marisol Nichols, Zoie Palmer, and Genelle Williams. Mark Burg and Oren Koules of the original Saw team are credited as producers for the ninth installment in the series.
“We know that Saw fans, as well as those experiencing their first Saw adventure, will be on the edge of their seats with this thrilling new film. We are proud to support the exhibitors with one of our most eagerly awaited films. We are confident this film will kick off a robust summer moviegoing season,” stated David Spitz, President of Distribution for Lionsgate Motion Picture Group.
The RCA Records website no longer lists a contracted recording artist named Mulatto. That’s because the Atlanta-bred rapper born Alyssa Michelle Stephens has officially changed her stage name to Latto.
Many rap fans were hoping Latto would decide to drop the Mulatto moniker. Back in January, The Rap Game reality show winner hinted at possibly switching her alias from the slur used to describe mixed-race children.
“So now I’m like, ‘Okay, my intentions [were] to never glorify being mulatto.’ So if that’s how it’s being perceived and people think I’m saying, ‘I’m better because I’m mulatto’ or ‘my personality trait is mulatto’ – that’s how they’re taking it? That’s not my intention then I need to change the matter at hand which is the name change,” said the biracial “B#### from da Souf” performer.
The new name is apparently coming with new music. Latto took to her social media accounts to reveal the cover art for an upcoming release set for May 21. The 22-year-old also posted a separate video on Twitter and Instagram where she talked about the name change.
“You got to be strategic with the word choice because it can come off a way that you don’t mean. That’s how I got in this predicament in the first place with the damn name,” admitted Latto in the clip. “That’s why you got to be proactive with the word choices.”
She continued, “You got to think ahead. Don’t think right now in the booth, going crazy. Think like when the song drops, how is that reaction gonna be? Are they gonna understand my intentions? Because that’s what happened with the name, that’s why I’m here right now because my intentions weren’t for the backlash.”
Latto’s next project will follow her 2020 debut studio LP Queen of da Souf. The extended version of that album featured appearances by Gucci Mane, City Girls, 21 Savage, 42 Dugg, Saweetie, Trina, and Lil Baby. Production was provided by J. White Did It, Murda Beatz, Hitmaka, and more.
Since her arrival on the music scene, Latto has also collaborated with other acts like NLE Choppa, G-Eazy, Chloe x Halle, Queen Naija, 2 Chainz, Chris Brown, Young Thug, Rich The Kid, Rubi Rose, and Flow Milli. Plus, the 2020 XXL Freshman Class member made a cameo in Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s record-breaking “WAP” music video.
The anonymous accuser is one of at least 30 women that have named the Harrises as abusers who supposedly took part in drugging, kidnapping, and rape. Attorney Tyrone A. Blackburn is representing a number of the alleged victims.
Rachelle Jenks reportedly hired Blackburn as her legal counsel. The 41-year-old woman filed a police report on T.I. and Tiny in Las Vegas, alleging the Atlanta-based couple spiked her Patron shot before they engaged in sexual acts with her without proper consent.
Steve Sadow, an attorney for T.I. and Tiny, provided the following statement to People:
The Harrises have not spoken to or been contacted by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the Las Vegas Police Department (LVPD) or, indeed, any member of law enforcement from any other jurisdiction in the country. Even assuming the story in the Daily Beast is close to accurate, it appears the LAPD ‘accuser’ has chosen once again to remain anonymous, thereby preventing us from being in a position to disprove or refute her allegations — or even examine them. Meanwhile, although we now appear for the first time to have the name of an ‘accuser’ who supposedly filed a police report with LVPD, we have absolutely zero details about her or her claim.
Sexual assault allegations against T.I. and Tiny began spreading on the internet in January. Former Harris family friend Sabrina Peterson accused T.I. of holding a gun to her head years ago which led to multiple women claiming the 40-year-old entertainer was involved in sex trafficking with the help of his wife.
The Harrises have insisted all the accusations of sexual abuse leveled at them are untrue. In January, T.I. posted an 8-minute Instagram video where the Grand Hustle Records co-founder denied he and Tiny were involved in any sex-related crimes.
All took the music industry by storm, chart-topping early on in their lives, growing up right in front of our eyes, and now their new ABC show “Queens” allows the musicians-turned actors to play out their own growth experiences on television.
Now the ladies are grown and are called to come back and give a reunion show…will they even feel comfortable singing those old songs or are they super grown and past that.
We will lock-in.
While the concept seems outrageous, it is actually not too far from reality. Check out how it kinda resembles their lives.
Eve was known in the 90s as the “Pitbull in the Skirt” repping for the Ruff Ryders camp that gave us Drag-on, The Lox, and DMX. Now, she is married to a gazillionaire, splits her time between the US and Europe, and a talk show host on a major network called The Talk.
Brandy was (and is to a certain extent) America’s sweetheart and after dropping hit after hit from the time she was 12 up until today, has started in tons of hit shows like* The Game* and Star and knows something about revamping her image.
And Naturi seems to have flipped herself from the lead singer of 3LW, became a Broadway star, killed it as Lil Kim in the movie Notorious, and now is one of the most well-known women on TV as the super-powerful Tasha St. Patrick in Power franchise.
These ladies will be joined also by Nadine Velazquez and are sure to be a hit with Gen Xers. After all, we get to see them paws on Eve again!

50 Cent is telling singer and reality star Teairra Mari, “Times Up! Pay what you owe.”
Recently released court documents obtained by RadarOnline reveal that Curtis Jackson’s representation filed a writ of execution against the “Love & Hip Hop” star for the $37,733 that she owes him.
This legal dispute goes back about three years when Mari filed a lawsuit against her ex-boyfriend Akbar Abdul-Ahad for allegedly releasing an explicitly pornographic video of her on social media.
She claimed that he hacked into her Instagram account to post the video on her personal/ professional profile to embarrass her.
She also named 50 in this filing because he reposted the video, tagged it with his hashtag “Get the Strap” and edited the image for his 20+ million followers in a manner that sharply showed color contrast to the semen on her face and skin.
She further stated that she thought that “Get the Strap” was a threat for people to hurt her. We were with you until you said that, Shorty.
These recently filed court documents show that the judgment has been adjusted with an additional $4,492 and has accrued $2,597 in interest.
50’s camp has tried to squeeze some blood out of this proverbial rock. His team has reportedly even reached out to VH1 to see how much she makes.
Still, he contends that she has not paid anything since the ruling was given in 2019 and he is tired of waiting. He hopes this new lawsuit will make her cough up the bread.#PayHimShorty*
What is the ultimate trophy signifying a successful rapper is not his car, his jewels, or his chart-topping hits? Some would say that it is the beautiful woman on his arm. What signifies that they are not only successful but probably gonna use their money to nation-build and create generational wealth … is their ability to settle down with that beautiful woman on their arm, empower her to walk in her genius, run her business (and in some cases their business) and make her the queen of their lives.
In 2020, there was a whole uproar about rappers and their Black wives (that their wives didn’t respect them, that they were too rooted in colorism to see their beauty and that if they did have them those women didn’t bring anything to the table. Welp, here is a list to prove all of that wrong.
Check out these rappers who have drop-dead gorgeous wives who are more than just eye-candy.
After being accused of sexual harassment, budding entertainment mogul Joe Budden apologized to DJ Olivia Dope for his inappropriate actions perpetrated toward her during her time as a co-host on the podcast, See, The Thing Is.
“As a podcaster, it is my job to address topics and create dialogue around them. During the conversation on the See, The Thing Is podcast I didn’t handle the topics with the sensitivity they deserved. I recognize my words and power in that situation created an upsetting environment for Olivia. Upon reflection, both the network and I take accountability for this,” he noted in a statement.
“I apologize sincerely to Olivia, her former co-hosts, our staff, and the public. In an effort to not further any trauma, the episode will be removed from all platforms,” Budden continued. “We support all women’s rights to feel comfortable and protected in the workplace. We fell short of that in this instance. We support Olivia in her quest to heal, applaud her for finding the strength to share her experience, and wish her the best in all her future endeavors. I am taking the time to listen and learn; we have already begun to make the necessary changes to ensure this is a safe environment for all moving forward. We at the network endeavor to continue to elevate Black women’s voices and create opportunities to have constructive conversations to impact change.”
DJ Olivia Dope released a video on her social media detailing why she quit and how upset she was by Joe’s antics. Watch it in totality below.
Joe Budden has been in the spotlight for unethical business practices for the last few weeks, only months after launching his Joe Budden Podcast Network.
It seems that his brash and borderline misogynistic banter is coming back to bite him in the butt … or maybe is the setup for a very interesting return to “Love & Hip Hop.”
After all, his storyline was super corny during his last season.

The last year’s been tough. But now the end is in sight. Vaccines are rolling out across the world. And pandemic restrictions are starting to ease up – including restrictions on travel.
Now could be the perfect time to start booking that vacation you’ve been craving all this time. A chance to explore a new city or even a new country. But what if you haven’t got the holiday time or money to book a two-week vacation?
A weekend away could be all you need. There are lots of great reasons to choose a weekend break over a longer vacation: a) it’s a lot more affordable b) you don’t have to book as much time off work and c) you can cram in lots of activities so that you won’t get bored. It could even be a way of visiting multiple destinations in a year instead of just settling for one annual vacation.
Of course, when planning a weekend away, you don’t want to be jetting off too far. Not only will it be expensive to fly to Sydney or Thailand, but you could end up spending more time on a plane than at your actual destination.
Staying in the US is often the easiest option, however, if you’re eager to go abroad there are still many places within reach including Canada, Mexico, and even parts of Western Europe and South America.
Below is a guide to some of the best places to travel to for a fun weekend away including some info on what to do while you’re there and how much you can expect to spend, including. hotels, flights, and some spending money.
Bear in mind that some of these places are still yet to lift lockdown rules and may not be possible to travel to straight away.
Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Most tourists visit the Dutch capital for one of the three things: the weed, the nightlife, and the notorious red-light district. If you’re young and looking for fun, then you definitely won’t be disappointed by Amsterdam. However, there’s so much more to this city if you’re all about the culture. It’s full of fascinating museums, and there are so many exciting options for getting around including hiring a bike, taking a tram, cruising down the canal, or even taking a double-decker train. East coast residents are likely to find this city more easily accessible than those on the west – it’s about a 7-hour flight from New York. It’s also a very expensive city (so save up your pennies).
Average 3-night weekend cost for a solo traveler: $1235
Chaka Stewart ended up crashing his car into a tree on Rozay’s property and tossed a handgun.
Police finally caught up with Stewart, arrested him at gunpoint, and hauled him off to the Clayton County Jail.
Unfortunately, Stewart was found dead in his cell yesterday, and his family has some questions.
So far, a cause of death has not been revealed, but Stewart’s relatives talked to TMZ and claimed he was being mistreated inside of the jail.
His mother Jacqueline Gordon said she was in contact with her son after his arrest, and he shared some disturbing details about his treatment inside of the county lockup.
Stewart told his mom he was being beaten behind bars – although it is not clear if he was referring to prisoners or guards.
Gordon said her son also complained that he was being confined to his jail cell 23 hours a day and being deprived of basic necessities like taking a shower.
Furthermore, Gordon said some of the prison guards were verbally abusive to her son.
Gordon is waiting for an explanation from the Clayton County Jail, as well as the autopsy results on her deceased son.
Alabama Nick is here to put on for his home state of Alabama, so much so it’s in his name. The emerging artist has had dreams and aspirations of becoming an entertainer since a very young age, getting his start in acting before switching over to music. Now, he plans to do whatever it takes to make Alabama be known in the rap game.
Nick states, “I’m trying to start a movement here to help propel Alabama to the forefront of the rap game cause I feel we get left out of a lot of stuff.”
With the drive and motivation to build his own name and legacy, Alabama Nick frequently creates music with his nephew and artist Chefboy Tyree.
The results are turnt up, trap bangers with lyrics that resonate and touch all those who listen. Most recently, he released his latest single titled “1992,” holding fans over until the release of his forthcoming song and visual for “WMD.”
AllHipHop: Why do you feel like Alabama is left out of things?
Alabama Nick: Alabama’s one of those states that’s musically overlooked, and I don’t think we get the credit we deserve. I don’t know why that is. We’ve had some people get signed to major deals out here, but it was never nothing that continued and carried along. I’m trying to boost that legacy to let people know there’s some talented artists down here, and we deserve a lot more credit.
AllHipHop: What part of Alabama are you from?
Alabama Nick: I’m originally from a little town called Salem Alabama, it’s really a little blip on the map. It’s a little country town.
AllHipHop: What was it like growing up in Salem?
Alabama Nick: Growing up in Salem was interesting to say the least, a lot of country stuff going on. I grew up knowing the value of hard work. If you don’t work, you don’t eat down there man. You’re around a lot of family and everybody knows who you are.
If you picture any small town backwood town with country things going on like drug use and petty crime, Salem, Alabama is the epitome of that man. It’s really country, really desolate. It’s just country, that’s the best way I can describe it.
AllHipHop: What does it mean to be a “Country Boy”?
Alabama Nick: Yeah, that’s where I come from. That’s my roots, that’s how I was raised. I got deep-rooted country roots, it’ll always be with me. That’s what I represent.
AllHipHop: Biggest influences coming up?
Alabama Nick: I’m an old school rap guy. My influences range anywhere from Outkast, Goodie Mob, UGK, people from that era. Common influenced me a lot growing up, I really respected his rap. I’m from the era of The Lox, that whole Bad Boy movement. M.O.P., Biggie, Pac, all that. I’m all around the spectrum.
AllHipHop: At what point did you realize this music thing was for real?
Alabama Nick: You know, I’ve always known. My whole life, I realized I had my musical talent. I’ve always had a lot for rap and hip hop, but I fell out of the game for a number of years. I’m excited to get back serious with it. Back in 2019, I was just thinking that Alabama really doesn’t have a staple of representation. I said ”man, I gotta do something here.” That’s my time to get back in the game and try to get it poppin’.
AllHipHop: When’d you pick up the name, Alabama Nick?
Alabama Nick: I picked up the name Alabama Nick when I was in the military for a couple of years. Everywhere I go traveling around the world, when people found out I was from Alabama, they immediately called me Alabama, Alabama, Alabama. I finally adopted it into my name. When I was thinking of what my rap name was going to be, “man you know what, Alabama Nick!” I put it together like that and it stuck, took off from there.
AllHipHop: Talk about creating a meaningful record like “1992,” that speaks volumes to what’s happening today.
Alabama Nick: We created “1992” right in the height of the George Floyd situation, the George Floyd murder. We were fed up, we said “we gotta make a song that represents this time and what we stand for.” We went to the studio, started writing and listening to some beats. “1992” came out, that’s what we produced. I love the song, it came out great. I get a lot of compliments on it. It’s a great representation of the Black Lives Matter movement and taking a stand in the country against police brutality.
AllHipHop: Talk about creating music with your nephew, Chefboy Tyree. I know you guys collaborated on “Gummy” recently.
Alabama Nick: That’s my real-life nephew. Really talented guy, talented artist. He’s a producer, he makes beats. It’s family, so we gotta collab. We work pretty well together. He did a lot of production on my first mixtape, we got a lot of songs that we collab on together. He’s the key component of me really getting back in the game and finding my sound. It’s a family situation, we’re like brothers. It’s one of those situations man. He’s a real talented artist and a great guy, a big part of my production and my sound.
AllHipHop: What can we expect from your forthcoming single, “WMD”?
Alabama Nick: From “WMD,” you can expect mad energy. It’s a hyped up trap track with a lot of bass and 808. The influence comes from the TV series “The Wire”. The song is produced by the acclaimed Mitchell Froom and the video directed by Solo Creative is pretty awesome. The single is being released by Casanova Records under The Orchard Sony Music umbrella, so get ready to see it blasted on billboards and ads all over the place. The video’s got a cool storyline, a lot of movement, flash & bounce. The track is definitely gonna be a classic that’ll get people moving.
AllHipHop: 3 things you need in the studio?
Alabama Nick: I have to say a little bit of alcohol, [laughs] definitely some good vibes going, I need a couple of good people around me, I usually have my cousins in the studio around me. The more brains you have in the studio, the better the vibes in the studio, the level of creativity goes up. Good people around me, a little bit of alcohol to relax and set the mood, and good energy.
AllHipHop: What can we expect next?
Alabama Nick: I’m working on a new EP, I haven’t titled anything yet but I’ve been in the studio everyday working on tracks. I’m really excited to get that jumped off because my first project was basically a mixtape. It was some songs we did and had in the vault. This one, I’m really taking my time and stepping up my production quality. Ready to get it poppin’. I’m excited about new material I got coming out, dedicated to this new EP. I’m working on 2 EPs at the same time, and will drop them a week apart. One, the vibe is going to be totally different, relaxed. The next one is going to be that dirty trap stuff.
AllHipHop: What’s the reality of the independent grind?
Alabama Nick: A lot of hard work. You get a lot of no’s, you get a lot of people not believing in you. But at the end of the day, the reality of it is real. It’s a real grind for an independent artist. Getting it poppin’ and getting a fanbase, getting people to take you seriously and getting your stuff out there. Once people see your final product, they hear it and it’s good, then they can’t deny you.
Shout out to all the independent artists out there, I know it’s a grind. It’s a struggle. You hit a lot of roadblocks because you don’t know who to trust. It seems like a lot of people are out there to take your money, seeing what ways they can come up off of you. It’s a grind, you have to be smart about it. You definitely face challenges being an independent artist that you don’t face being with a major label backing you. My advice to any independent artist out there is to stay focused on the grind. Stay focused on putting out good quality music and just hit ‘em. Keep hitting them man, keep hitting them.
AllHipHop: Anything else you want to let us know?
Alabama Nick: Please follow me on my social media, @AlabamaNickOfficial on IG. You can look me up on Facebook: Alabama Nick. I got a page, definitely check me out on there. Youtube man, we’re trying to get the Youtube popped off more. We’re building subscribers, Youtube is a really hard one to build.
I was fortunate enough to get a VEVO channel, you can check that out. Got a few videos on my Vevo, and “WMD” will definitely be on my Vevo, Youtube, Facebook as well. If you want to email me for a feature, al**************@***il.com. I work with a lot of independent artists, getting features out there and putting plays together. I’m easy to get at so holla at me.

Queens native and now Houston resident 50 Cent is starting a program that will help young people get paid internships.
He dropped the news on Twitter on May 17th. Fif let his followers know that like most of the projects he is associated with or that he works on, this will also win.
He posted, “This entrepreneur program will be a success,” as he shared a clip of him and Houston’s mayor, Sylvester Turner, announcing the program designed for high school students.
Two years in the making, this program teaches business and entrepreneur skills defined by his G-Unity Business Lab at the Kashmere, Worthing, and Wheatley High Schools.
It is reported that students in the program will take MBA-level lessons to represent how to make a product from the beginning of the idea to when it hits the market.
T.I. and Tiny are being accused – once again – of being sexual predators. But now, as I stated before, something just doesn’t seem right. And this is not to undermine the accusers, or to make a determination of innocence or guilt. It’s just to ask some questions, because my Spidey sense is tingling. And I’m just wondering what is what!
Keep reading after this amazing gif.
I am really interested in knowing the truth. I JUST want to know the truth! Come on in, Truth! Now let’s run it down just for a second, and speak to fax. Tip and his wife Tiny have been accused of a myriad of terrible things, mostly related to sexual assault, drugs and other improprieties. These accusations have been made by numerous women and all of the accusation are BAD BAD. like MJ and LL Cool J “Bad.” On paper, if you will, they make one of our favorite rapper / activist and legend and his doting legendary singer wife look like monsters. Most of these women have no face and no name to identify them and are represented by a single lawyer. That, by the way, is not illegal. They say they fear intimidation by The Harrises and are staying anonymous for the time being.
To my knowledge, there have been no charges pressed against Tip or Tiny. This has not stop the dragging in the press and social media. Be clear, only one of the charges have to be true. So if one of them is true and all of the rest are false, they are still guilty of something. However, it just seems as if some of these are just bogus. As was the case with Bill Cosby. Some of those accusations were bogus. Just facts, cancel mongers. One of those accusers was found to be telling the truth in a court of law and that sent Mr. Cosby to jail for a very long time, in his senior most years. The others could’ve been true as well but it was the one ultimately that sent him to the big house.
I say all of that to say this: T.I. has a new accusation and the friend of the accuser is flat out saying that her friend (would assume now former friend) is lying. Another common thread that seems to be involved in all of these cases is that people go into these alleged freaky or illicit situations and either regret it or see a come up. This particular friend of the accuser is saying that the person is simply looking for a come up. Check this out:
Another bs story about TIP and Tiny was released. The woman is lying and wanted Tip to herself. When it wasn’t happening how she thought she stopped messing around with them according a friend. Everything was consensual with all parties involved per usual. Don’t believe none of these people until they provide proof of something. Nothing has been provided and no charges have been brought against them. At this point it’s legal extortion. Hopefully Tip and Tiny don’t break and pay these bums😒
Does this make all the other accusations fraudulent? No. Does this somehow exonerate T.I. and tiny for all other accusations? No. But does it raise the question that some people here are lying? Yes! And that’s all folks are trying to say is that everybody may not be on the up and up! I just want the truth! And when we have the truth, or conviction, which doesn’t necessarily denote the truth, we can then move on with some normalcy.
Drake’s 2018 studio LP, Scorpion, is still ranked on the Billboard 200 in 2021. The 25-track effort presently occupies the #43 position on the publication’s weekly album rankings. It has now spent 150 total weeks on the chart.

Fans are mourning the untimely death of established Bay Area recording artist Mike Darole on Monday (May 17th).
According to news from friends and family reports, the 29-year-old rapper was killed in Sunnyvale, California, on Saturday (May 15th) due to gun violence.
A GoFundMe campaign for his children, created by Christina Loredo, revealed the fatal shooting occurred while the rapper, born Michael Darole, was walking his dog outside of his family home.
Darole’s shooting adds to a series of Hip-Hop-related deaths due to gun violence.
Sources say the unknown persons attempted to rob Darole, and a scuffle ensued. The gunman fired multiple rounds and hit Mike six times in various parts of his body. Darole was transported to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.
As news spread of his death on social media, fans came in droves to pay their respects to the late-rapper under his last Instagram post, made last Wednesday (May 12th), which is a photo of him and his daughter with the caption: “My everyday inspiration.”
The Bay Area rapper survived a near-fatal shooting in 2015 during a robbery attempt that saw Darole shot at point-blank range. The bullet landed next to his heart and required open-heart surgery. The incident led to a year of recovery with physical therapy.
Mike Darole was an established recording artist from San Jose, best known for his 2017 hit “Hello” featuring RJ and Compton AV. Mike Darole’s resume includes collaborations with West Coast stars John Hart, Rayven Justice King Lil G, DJ Mustard, and YG.
Before his solo career, Mike, formerly known as M.I.C., saw regional success as a member of several groups, like The League and N3w Era, during the mid-2000s West Coast Hip-Hop dance era.
However, his breakthrough came n in 2009 with the debut single “B.A.B.Y,” which accumulated over four million YouTube views.
“B.A.B.Y. was a slapper, rest peacefully,” commented Iris Alvarez, also known by the Instagram tag @iris_marie23, under journalist Bryson “Boom” Paul’s Instagram tribute to the slain rapper.
Sources say Mike Darole was negotiating a record deal and growing in popularity with his younger brother as the new duo, The Pisces Brothers. In April 2020, they released their latest single, “Chit Chat” featuring X2.
Additionally, accomplished recording artist Uncle Loops recently revealed he was recording with the duo on their forthcoming debut album.
Mike Darole is survived by his son, 9, daughter, 4, and longtime girlfriend. Services are being planned in the Bay Area. More information as it becomes available.

Girls Trip was one of the top-grossing comedies of 2017. The star-studded film pulled in more than $115 million at the domestic box office and more than $140 million at the global box office.
Many fans of the Malcolm D. Lee-directed motion picture hoped Will Packer Productions and Universal Pictures would create a sequel. One of the Girls Trip cast members teased the possibility that part two will begin filming soon.
Oscar-nominated actress/Grammy-winning rapper Dana “Queen Latifah” Owens made an appearance on the May 17 episode of the Tamron Hall talk show. Queen Latifah was asked if moviegoers will get to see her, Regina Hall, Tiffany Haddish, and Jada Pinkett Smith reunite for Girls Trip2.
“I mean we just got the word that perhaps it may be happening sooner rather than later. I mean, I was ready to jump on it immediately, so it needed to be right,” said Queen Latifah.
She continued, “We’re all down for the second one. We kind of got into this for a sequel, so I think maybe something promising is very close, very much on the horizon. I don’t know where I’m gonna be next summer shooting this movie, but it better be somewhere exotic.”
The original Girls Trip told the story of four adult friends reconnecting in order to travel to the Essence Music Festival. After arriving in New Orleans, the “Flossy Posse” experience comical shenanigans including an absinthe-fueled night at the club.
Queen Latifah is currently starring as Robyn McCall in the CBS crime drama The Equalizer. The television series is based on the director Antoine Fuqua’s The Equalizer motion picture franchise starring Denzel Washington which was loosely based on the 1980s-era tv show of the same name.
“Denzel is somewhere like, ‘I’m going to yank Dana up when I see her for making me work twice as hard on this next movie,” joked Queen Latifah on The Tamron Hall Show.
The New Jersey-raised entertainer added, “It’s his fault. He raised the bar. It’s [Denzel Washington’s] fault for raising the bar and making me work this hard. And now I’m having to make him work harder.”
The Los Angeles Police Department has launched an active sexual assault investigation into Clifford “T.I.” Harris Jr and Tameka “Tiny” Cottle-Harris. Over 30 women in multiple states accused the celebrity couple of forced drugging, kidnapping, rape, and intimidation.
According to The Daily Beast, an anonymous woman spoke to LAPD detectives in April about an alleged assault that took place in 2005. Attorney Tyrone A. Blackburn claimed he communicated with law enforcement authorities in February on behalf of at least eight people, including the Jane Doe in California.
Blackburn is also representing Rachelle Jenks. The 41-year-old woman supposedly filed a police report against T.I. and Tiny in Las Vegas, Nevada earlier this month. Previously, Blackburn called on law enforcement in multiple states to open investigations into his clients’ claims.
T.I. has maintained the accusations against him and his wife are completely false. In January, he posted an 8-minute video on social media addressing the mounting claims of misconduct. The 40-year-old emcee/actor wrote in the Instagram caption, “No weapon formed against us shall prosper. We vehemently deny ALL these disgusting, anonymous allegations.”
Steve Sadow, attorney for Clifford and Tameka Harris, released the following statement:
Clifford (T.I.) and Tameka Harris deny in the strongest possible terms these unsubstantiated and baseless allegations. We are confident that if these claims are thoroughly and fairly investigated, no charges will be forthcoming. These allegations are nothing more than the continuation of a sordid shakedown campaign that began on social media. The Harrises implore everyone not to be taken in by these obvious attempts to manipulate the press and misuse the justice system.
In recent years, T.I. began embracing a more political tone in his music as opposed to the street-based lyrics of his early career. The Us or Else: Letter to the System creator seemed to suggest he was experiencing a media witch hunt similar to the persecution of African-American civil rights activists.
“From Malcolm X to John Africa to anybody. To the Chairman, Fred Hampton, it’s gonna always be challenged as long as you’re trying to be a voice for the voiceless,” said T.I. during a February interview with The Shade Room. “You just gotta believe enough in your purpose to stand and go on through it. But other people’s fantasies and fiction of me will never overrule the facts I know of myself.”
