Diddy Drags Uncle Murda Clip Into Bid To Dismiss Lil Rod’s Bombshell Lawsuit

Sean “Diddy” Combs asked a New York judge to throw out producer Lil Rod’s salacious lawsuit on Monday (August 26). Diddy’s lawyers filed a motion seeking a dismissal with prejudice, per court documents obtained by AllHipHop. If granted, the judge’s order would prevent Lil Rod from refiling his case against the Hip-Hop mogul.

“Replete with legally meaningless allegations and blatant falsehoods, the [lawsuit’s] true purpose is to generate media hype and exploit it to extract a settlement—no surprise, given that [Lil Rod’s]attorney was recently referred to this Court’s Grievance Committee for engaging in a ‘pattern’ of ‘improperly fil[ing] cases in federal court to garner media attention, embarrass defendants with salacious allegations, and pressure defendants to settle quickly,” Diddy’s lawyers wrote.

Lil Rod, whose real name is Rodney Jones, sued Diddy in February. The producer accused Diddy of RICO violations, sexual assault, sex trafficking and breach of contract, among other claims.

Diddy’s lawyers denied the allegations. His attorneys said Lil Rod failed “to state a single viable claim” in their motion to dismiss. The defendant’s legal team disputed multiple aspects of Lil Rod’s lawsuit, saying it was filled with “hyperbole and lurid theatrics.”

“Mr. Jones’s lawsuit is pure fiction – a shameless attempt to create media hype and extract a quick settlement,” Diddy’s attorney Erica Wolff said in a press statement. “There was no RICO conspiracy and Mr. Jones was not threatened, groomed, assaulted, or trafficked. We look forward to proving – in a court of law – that all of Mr. Jones’s claims are made up and must be dismissed.”

Diddy’s motion cited a clip of Lil Rod appearing at 50 Cent’s Humor & Harmony festival as an example of the producer’s true motives for filing the lawsuit. Lil Rod was seen with rapper Uncle Murda in a brief video from the event.

“Taking a page from his attorney’s playbook, Jones recently posted a video on the ‘X’ platform in which he, together with a performer known as ‘Uncle Murda,’ laughed about this lawsuit (despite his allegations of ‘severe emotional distress’), demanded Mr. Combs pay him ‘that money by Monday,’ and warned: ‘I’m from Chicago, we don’t play about our business,’ Diddy’s lawyers noted in their filing. “Like the [Second Amended Complaint], Jones’ videotaped threats on social media are part of a calculated effort to promote his personal brand and profit from the exposure. Such tactics have no place in federal court.”

Lil Rod is one of the many people who’ve sued Diddy for sexual assault over the past year. Diddy is also the subject of a federal investigation into sex trafficking allegations.

Playboi Carti Fans On High Alert Over The Weeknd Tease

Playboi Carti hinted at a new collaboration with The Weeknd amid fan speculation over the reclusive rapper’s third studio album. Carti posted a photo of himself FaceTiming The Weeknd on Instagram Stories, making fans wonder if the two teamed up for new music on Monday (August 26).

Carti and The Weeknd previously worked together on the song “Popular” with Madonna. The track was originally supposed to appear on a soundtrack for The Weeknd’s HBO show The Idol. “Popular” was included on a deluxe edition of his greatest hits album The Highlights.

Fans have impatiently waited for Carti to release a new album for a few years. His last project, Whole Lotta Red, dropped in 2020.

Carti and Iggy Azalea’s son Onyx was also born in 2020. Azalea claimed Carti wasn’t handling his share of the parenting duties on Jesse Tyler Ferguson’s Dinner’s on Me podcast in July.

“I’m very much the only parent,” she said. “No disrespect, but yes, I am not co-parenting really, and that’s just the reality of it.”

Azalea and Carti’s romance ended the same year their son was born. She said the former couple had “a volatile relationship” in a 2023 interview. The Australian rapper broke up with Carti to “break the toxic cycle.”

Tyrese’s “Beautiful Pain” and Movie “1992”: A Double Release Rooted in Authenticity and Healing

Tyrese Gibson Unveils His Heart and Soul with New Album Beautiful Pain and His Hood in Film “1992”

Tyrese is ready to share not just one, but two deeply personal projects with the world. His new double album, Beautiful Pain, and his movie, 1992, are set to drop on August 30.

Tyrese has poured his heart into his latest musical opus, Beautiful Pain, available through his own platform tyrese.tv. The double album, which he said is as the most important music he has ever released, is an an emotional journey. The work travels through his well-publicized trials of divorce, the pursuit of new love, and the complexities of healing from the loss of his mother.

“I hope people feel the authenticity, the realness. This album is about the highs and lows of love, the pain and the beauty that come with it. It’s my Marvin Gaye Here, My Dear moment. I want people to listen to it and be reminded that love is worth fighting for, that healing is possible,” he said before an audience at The New York Times Square AMC theater.

Beautiful Pain spans 20 tracks, each one a testament to Tyrese’s commitment to authenticity and depth in his music. The album marks a departure from the conventional sound of today’s R&B, featuring entirely live production by the legendary David Foster, with contributions from renowned saxophonist Kenny G.

Tyrese is confident that Beautiful Pain will resonate deeply with listeners, particularly those navigating their own relationships.

“It’s the most important album I’ve ever released. It’s about my divorce, about me finding love again. The album is grown. It’s a full experience. No skips,” he maintained. “This album is meant to bring people back together, not contribute to the divorce rate. I’ve played it for married couples, and they’ve told me it helped them reconnect.”

Tyrese’s dual projects, “1992 and Beautiful Pain, stand as a powerful statement and commercial works. Both are squarely rooted in his personal experiences.

“When God’s got His hands on something, don’t worry about the way it looks,” he says.

In an era where many artists chase trends and chart positions, Tyrese Gibson is proving that there is still room for authenticity, perseverance, and stories that touch the soul in the entertainment industry.

Nick Cannon Dragged Into Viral Debate Amid Cam Newton’s Controversial Fatherhood Remarks

Nick Cannon is getting dragged on social media after a clip of Cam Newton disusing his view on marriage and fatherhood went viral.

On the latest episode of his Funky Friday show, Newton discussed marriage and relationships with his guest, Dr. Cheyenne Bryant. He admitted that despite having eight children with three different women, he is in no rush to settle down. Newton explained to Dr. Bryant that he wants even more children, but his “desire to get married” is lower than his”fear of divorce.”

However, Dr. Bryant told him his actions were creating broken families. “You’re not taking your time,” she replied. “You have eight kids with three different women. You are creating, procreating, and multiplying. That is not taking your time, you’re being very selectively active.” She added that his fears “will selfishly create broken families.”

Nick Cannon Had Dr. Bryant On His “Counsel Culture” Show

His comments sparked controversy online, with many social media users slamming the former NFL star. Nick Cannon was also used as an example of another man who, like Cam Newton, has multiple children with different mothers.

Users shared a clip from the Wild ‘N Out star’s interview with Dr. Bryant.

“The clip of Dr. Bryant speaking with Cam Newton is nuts BUT this one of her talking to Nick Cannon is even crazier,” one person wrote. “He basically admitted to being a wolf in sheep’s clothing. He’s a predator who has no issue with“preying on women” bc “that’s what men do” (his words not mine).

“Ngl that Cam Newton video p##### me off so bad,” another person shared. “The Nick Cannonfication of fatherhood is a national health crisis that needs to be addressed and dismantled. You n##### are real life crazy.”

A third user stated, “I’m so glad everyone is dragging Cam Newton for that video. He and other Nick Cannon types deserve public shaming for their behavior. It’s insane that these men think they can make tons of children in different homes but still deserve access to any woman.

Eminem’s Daughter Hallie “Audibly Sobbed” Listening To Father’s Album

Eminem’s daughter Hallie Jade Scott wept with emotion after hearing two songs on her father’s album.

Last month, the Detroit legend released his latest album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), which included a track dedicated to Hallie, “Somebody Save Me.” Eminem dropped the music video last week, and Hallie revealed she watched it once but refused to watch it again.

“I watched it in its entirety, and I don’t think I can do it again,” she said of the visuals during the latest episode of her Just a Little Shady podcast. I definitely cry every time I hear it at all.”

The track, which features Jelly Roll and includes childhood footage of Hallie, sees Eminem delve into an alternate reality where he never got sober.

“Hailie, I’m so sorry I know I wasn’t there for your first guitar recital,” he raps. “Didn’t walk you down the aisle/Missed the birth of your first child/Your first podcast, lookin’ down, sweetie.”

Eminem’s “Temporary” Features Audio Of Baby Hallie Jade

Eminem and Skylar Grey’s song “Temporary” also made Hallie extremely emotional.

“Between that and ‘Temporary,'” she said of the track, which features a recording of her as a baby. “I audibly sobbed I think for both songs, but especially ‘Temporary.’”

Her voice cracked as she continued discussing the premise of the track.

“Watching the video back and listening to the songs, I feel like my parents did such a good job,” she explained. “Growing up, where I didn’t realize how bad things were, but now as an adult, in hindsight, it’s so scary to think about. I think that’s why I get emotional so much, just thinking that that could have happened.”

“Somebody Save Me” is likely made even more poignant for Hallie after Eminem walked her down the aisle as she married her new husband, Evan McClintock.

Kid Cudi Stunned Kanye West Dropped Their Collab: “What Da Hell Is He Doing?”

Kid Cudi told a fan how much he wanted to hear his latest song with Kanye West and was shocked to learn that Ye had already dropped the track.

On Sunday (August 25), Cudi held a Q&A with his fans to kill time while waiting for a flight. One of his followers told him they loved hearing him on Ye’s  “GUN TO MY HEAD.”

However, Cudi was unaware the track featured on one of the multiple deluxe versions of Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s VULTURES 2

“Its tasty. Hope Ye drops that one day,” he replied before the fan revealed the song was out. “Where??? I wanna hear,” he said. “I forgot what it sounds like I only heard it once since I recorded it when he played it that one time at the listening event.”

When another user informed him the song was released on Yeezy.com but had sold out, Kid Cudi vowed to have a conversation with Kanye West.

“What da hell is he doin???” he asked. “Haha ima talk to him.”

Earlier this year, Kid Cudi revealed he forgave Kanye West following a highly-publicized feud over the “Donda 2” album. West cut Cudi from the album due to his friendship with Pete Davidson. The comic was dating West’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, at the time.

“The reason why we became cool again is because he apologized to me and it was sincere,” he said during an interview in January. “I was just like, ‘Wow.’ Kanye does not apologize to anybody and say sorry to anyone. And that’s my brother, man. I know he loves me and there’s just nothing like Kanye and Cudi. We like the duo that everybody loves to see.”

Kid Cudi Reflects On Kanye West Feud

In his Q&A Sunday night, Cudi told fans he hopes to collaborate with Ye again. He was touched when a fan said, “He called you King Cudi the other day in Korea.”

Reflecting on their past issues, he added, “Family always has problems sometimes, its the love that gets us through.”

Cudi also dashed fans’ hopes of a joint album with Travis Scott, insisting, “That ship came and went my friend. Lets move on. So much more to see and hear.”

He also shared a new music update following a foot injury earlier this year. Fans can expect the project in time for next summer, with a single to kick off the year in January.

“Ok so I pushed things back a bit cuz I wanna smack the world w this top of next year,” he revealed. “So the plan is, 1st single on my birthday and the album in the summer. I rarely drop summer albums, and this next one is all summer vibes so be ready.”

He also hinted at a possible fourth installment of his Man on the Moon trilogy.

Macklemore Cancels Dubai Show In Solidarity With Sudan Citing UAE’s Role In “Ongoing Genocide”

Macklemore has scrapped his upcoming concert in Dubai in protest to the United Arab Emirates’ role “in the ongoing genocide and humanitarian crisis” in Sudan.

On Sunday (August 25), Macklemore announced he canceled his October show. He took to Instagram with a lengthy statement explaining his decision.

“The crisis in Sudan is catastrophic,” Macklemore wrote. “Over ten million people have been displaced, millions face imminent famine, sexual violence is widespread, and at least 150,000 lives have been lost, including thousands of children. While numerous external forces contribute to this crisis, advocates, organizers, journalists, and officials repeatedly highlight the UAE’s role in funding the RSF militia as a major factor.”

Earlier this year, the Seattle-bred rapper released a pro-Palestinian anthem called “Hinds Hall.” Macklemore revealed he’s been educating himself for the last 10 months and claimed “the plight of the Palestinian people has woken the world up.”

He said that although he might not live to see the “dismantling” of systemic oppression, “our collective analysis is evolving.” He added, “That is where it starts. When we realize our individual liberation IS Palestinian liberation. Is Sudanese liberation. Is Congolese liberation. We are being called in this moment to advocate for the most marginalized around the world.”

Macklemore also explained his decision to cancel the Dubai show and not others.

“Because the current situation in Sudan is urgent, horrific and it’s going largely unnoticed globally,” he wrote. “I’m following the lead of Sudanese organizers and activists who are trying to be heard.”

Macklemore revealed he was excited to perform in Dubai and believes “this will probably jeopardise my future shows in the area.” Nonetheless, he added, “But until the UAE stops arming and funding the RSF I will not perform there.”

Her serene look was echoed in the caption as Lizzo revealed, “I’m taking a gap year & protecting my peace.”

It’s been a tumultuous year for Lizzo, who threatened to quit music amid constant public scrutiny. Last August, Lizzo was sued by three former dancers, alleging sexual misconduct and hostile work conditions. Lizzo denies the claims.

“I’m getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone in my life and on the internet,” she wrote in March. “All I want is to make music and make people happy and help the world be a little better than how I found it. But I’m starting to feel like the world doesn’t want me in it.”

She added, “I didn’t sign up for this s### — I QUIT.”

However, she later clarified her post, confirming she’s not quitting the music industry.

“When I say, ‘I quit,’ I mean I quit giving any negative energy attention,” she explained. “What I’m not going to quit is the joy of my life, which is making music and connecting to people.”

GloRilla Reacts After Facing Backlash Over “R-Word” Use In Unreleased Track

GloRilla sparked a fierce debate online after teasing a new track with a controversial lyric.

Earlier this week, the “TGIF” hitmaker shared a snippet of an upcoming song which included the line, “Me and my b#### r#######.”  The use of the R-word was condemned by many who found the term offensive.

According to The Special Olympics, the R-word is a form of hate speech and is frequently used as a slur, which can be extremely hurtful to people with intellectual disabilities.

Social media users debated whether or not it was acceptable for GloRilla to use the term. However, the Memphis, Tennessee native swiftly reacted, changing the lyrics to remove the word. Instead of using the R-word, GloRilla raps, “Me and my b#### go naughty,” a move praised by many of her fans.

“Awwww she changed the lyrics just in case it did hurt someone’s feelings,” one person wrote in Glo’s comment section.

“The fact that you changed the R word with naughty shows you are very mature,” another added. “Heard the criticism and went back in the lab and changed it..Glo for the people.”

However, some were not convinced the word needed replacing, despite the criticism. “not you changed the lyrics,” a third person shared. “smh i was ready to say that s### with my whole chest lol.”

Meanwhile, on Sunday night GloRilla reunited with her “Wanna Be” remix collaborator and Hot Girl Summer Tour partner Megan Thee Stallion.

“When you finally link with your favorite girl you ain’t seen in a while,” Meg captioned a video of their meet-up. “Lmaoooo Meg why are we like dis,” Glo replied in the comment section.

Drake’s Cryptic “Win Game 2” Post Fuels Kendrick Lamar Battle Sequel Rumors

Drake shared a cryptic post on his Instagram Story that has fans believe he’s attempting to go another round with Kendrick Lamar.

On Sunday night (August 25) Drake posted a snippet from a 2004 interview with Detroit Pistons star Rasheed Wallace.

“Y’all put it on the front page, back page, middle of the page,” Wallace says in the video. “We will win Game 2.”

He also shared an image from the 1987 movie A Better Tomorrow II featuring Chow Yun Fat aiming a pair of guns.

The posts swiftly circulated online, where many fans believe Drake is gearing up for another clash with Kendrick Lamar. Interestingly, the finsta posts arrived amid rumors K. Dot was preparing to drop an album.

However, it appears the enthusiasm for another round in the epic rap battle isn’t there for many. “Game 2” was trending on X (Twitter) as fans reacted to Drake’s teaser posts, with many urging him to get over it.

“Do we all agree a “game 2” in the Kendrick vs Drake beef is genuinely pointless,” one person remarked.

“Word gets out that Kendrick is coming back and Aubrey starts talking “Game 2” Lmao,” shared another user.

A third said simply, “game 2??? n#### got swept give it up.”

Over the weekend, Drake dropped off a three-pack of songs via his burner account, the same way he released a 100 MB dump of material earlier this month, including “SOD,” a version of the recently leaked “Supersoak” without the Li yachty verse.

Drake also shared “Circadian Rhythm” and “No Face,” with lyrics seemingly referencing the Kendrick Lamar battle.

Mary J. Blige’s Commitment Revived “Rob Peace” Movie

Chiwetel Ejiofor credits Mary J. Blige for her unwavering dedication to his film “Rob Peace,” which faced delays due to the pandemic.

When the film, portraying the true story of Yale alum Robert Peace who resorted to drug dealing to aid his father’s legal woes, was stalled in 2020, Blige stood by the project.

At that time, Mary J. Blige was one of the few cast members and remained committed for two years until filming resumed.

In discussing with Variety, Ejiofor emphasized Blige’s role as Jackie Peace, Robert’s mother, as vital to reviving the project.

“At the end of that process it was all about trying to piece back together whatever you were talking about two years earlier, and time had moved on and a lot of projects just went away,” he said.

“It needed people like Mary J who were just completely committed to the film, so as soon as we were trying to pull it back together she was right back in the mix, saying she loved the project and was still here for it. And it really helped galvanize all those energies. So I really credit Mary J for sticking with the film all through that period and being brilliant in the film, holding this really passionate center of the story and carrying it with such authenticity,” Ejiofor added.

Ejiofor’s new directorial piece, adapted from Jeff Hobbs’s book “The Short and Tragic Life of Robert Peace,” also features Ejiofor himself as Robert’s father, Skeet.

Despite her primary recognition as a musician, Mary J. Blige has showcased her acting skills in movies like “Respect,” “Mudbound,” and “Rock of Ages.”

YG Is Certified “Goon” In New Horror Film Role

YG has joined the cast of Goons, a horror film set to start production in New Orleans.

The movie will feature notable actors such as J. Alphonse Nicholson of P-Valley, Serayah McNeill, known for Empire, SteVonté Hart from Bel-Air and Tyler Lepley of Harlem.

YG is no stranger to the silver screen, having appeared in White Boy Rick and Cut Throat City.

His addition to Goons was meant to infuse the film with fresh energy, as he takes on his latest acting challenge amid the eerie locales of Louisiana, including cane fields and historical plantations designed to deliver chills.

Director Gerard McMurray, who co-authored the script, returns to his Louisiana roots to offer a novel perspective on the horror landscape, with producer Tommy Oliver leading the charge.

“We’re cooking up something special with YG, J. Alphonse, Serayah, SteVonté, and Tyler,” McMurray said. “Their unique flavors bring this horror recipe to life, and I can’t wait for the world to see it coming together in my hometown of New Orleans.”

Though specific plot details are being kept under wraps, the setting in Louisiana suggests a rich backdrop interwoven with American history and folklore.

Goons is expected to capitalize on New Orleans’ cultural fabric to amplify its horror elements.

Dee-1 Addresses Backlash From Christian & Rap Communities After Kamala Harris Endorsement

After his endorsement of Kamala Harris over Donald Trump in the forthcoming election, rapper/activist Dee-1 has encountered significant backlash in the Christian and rap communities.

Dee-1 discussed the criticism during his appearance on the Trackstarz podcast and remained unwavering in his stance.

Reflecting on the criticism, Dee-1 told the podcast, “I laugh at it honestly. We had four years of him [Trump] in office, and the country was more divisive than it’s been in my lifetime.”

He cited the January 6 insurrection as a glaring example, where many rioters justified their actions under the guise of Christianity.

“We lowered the bar so much while he was in office in terms of what we expect from a president,” he added.

Dee-1 stressed that one’s political choices should not define one’s faith, drawing attention to the mounting rifts among Christians.

“Inside the body of Christ, people will go so far as to say you are a Satanist if you are not voting for a Republican. They would say you are not a Christian. It’s impossible to be a Christian,” he expressed. “We all love Jesus, and we can sit here and have different voting preferences without becoming so divisive and toxic.”

The rapper shared personal anecdotes of familial discord, illustrating how political differences strained his relationships.

Despite the backlash, Dee-1 is resolute, believing that his role is facilitating constructive dialogue on these contentious issues.

“It showed me that inside the body, we are broken and we are extremely divided,” Dee-1 observed.

Remaining firm in his decision, Dee-1 argued that voting should reflect personal convictions rather than societal pressures.

“I believe God called me to be a bridge in this world,” he asserted. “There’s a way to have healthy discourse and dialogue, especially within the body of believers, to where we might have different voting preferences for our own reasons.”

Despite harsh criticism, Dee-1 holds no grudge against Trump or his followers.

“I still ain’t got no beef with him. If he wanted to sit down and chop it up, we could do that,” Dee-1 remarked.

In closing, Dee-1 urged unity and respect among Christians, regardless of political leanings.

“It doesn’t have to be all this,” he said. “People just don’t know how God would want us truly operating with people who have opposing views than us.”

Craig Mack Deep Dive Reveals Bad Boy Rapper Died Of HIV/AIDS—Not Heart Failure

Bad Boy Records rapper Craig Mack was most known for his 1994 hit single, “Flava in Ya Ear.” Raised in Trenton, New Jersey, Mack was one of the early artists signed Bad Boy.

“Flava in Ya Ear” was one of the label’s first big hits and helped establish the label as a major force in the Hip-Hop industry. The song was later remixed with verses from artists like The Notorious B.I.G., LL COOL J and Busta Rhymes, further solidifying its impact.

Despite the success of “Flava in Ya Ear,” Mack’s career never reached the same heights again. His debut album, Project: Funk da World (1994), was well-received but overshadowed by the meteoric rise of Biggie, who was also on Bad Boy. Mack released his second album, Operation: Get Down, in 1997, but it didn’t achieve significant commercial success.  Mack later stepped away from the music industry and became involved in a cult-like religious community. He passed away in March 2018 at the age of 47.

At the time, his family attributed his death to congestive heart failure, but a recent Rolling Stone article says otherwise. It reads: “While Mack’s family honored his wishes and repeated his assertion that he had congestive heart failure, Mack’s cause of death was HIV/AIDS, according to his death certificate, and he had refused to seek treatment.”

Friend Andrew Carn told the publication he thinks Mack was diagnosed in New York, leading him to the Overcomer Ministry in South Carolina, where he used the church as a “shield to ward off the shadows of his past.”

“I believe he was very much in denial, but that’s him living his truth to the end,” Carn said. “I know that sounds really crazy, but you have to know him to understand that. As much as that bothers me, I understand why he did what he did. He lived his truth.”

Many saw it as Mack’s way of cleansing his sins. As friend Chris Jennings put it, “[He] was getting his soul right to meet God.”

In late 2014, Mack was telling people he’d been diagnosed with congestive heart failure. But due to his religious beliefs, seeking medical was seen as “not putting faith in God’s ability” to heal. But Jennings said Mack was once hospitalized and took some medication before refusing to take anything else. Soon, it was impossible to hide just how gravely ill he was. Gaunt, bedridden and barely able to speak, he was nearing the end.

Mack wanted to stay in his home with no medical intervention, and his family honored his wishes.

Mack’s ex-wife, Roxanne Hill-Johnson, is confident the trouble in Mack’s life started with Diddy, who allegedly prevented him from having a long, successful music career in the mid-90s.

“I do feel like Puff’s the trigger — he f##### my family up,” she said. “Puff kicked it off; he was the catalyst.”

Nicki Minaj Slapped With $5M Lawsuit By Bitter Barb Accusing Her Of Slander

Nicki Minaj is reportedly being sued by one of her Barbz. According to TMZ, Tameer Peak filed a lawsuit with Los Angeles Superior Court, accusing the Grammy Award-nominated rapper of slander.

Peak claims he was a victim of the “Nicki hate train” in 2017, when she supposedly lashed out at several of her ardent fans. He says Minaj publicly ridiculed him and accused him of being a “stalker.” At one point, she allegedly invited him to her hotel to film and embarrass him in front of 100,000 viewers on Instagram Live.

Peak also accuses Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty, of battering him at a Super Bowl event in 2020, which he says Minaj addressed in a private message. Earlier this year, he was told by several others that Minaj wanted him to “stop saying dumb s###.”

Other allegations include Minaj painting him as mentally unstable, saying, “It’s clear they’re not necessarily, you know, a full basket umm at the picnic.” In another alleged instance, she supposedly said he was “one sandwich short of a picnic” and receiving government checks, implying he was on welfare.

Peak is suing Minaj for $5 million in damages for reputational harm, emotional distress and financial loss.

Nicki Minaj has faced multiple legal challenges throughout her career, one of the most notable being a lawsuit filed by singer-songwriter Tracy Chapman in 2018. Chapman sued Minaj for copyright infringement, claiming that the rapper used a portion of her 1988 song “Baby Can I Hold You” in her track “Sorry” without permission.

The dispute arose when Minaj’s team allegedly reached out to Chapman for clearance, which was denied. Despite this, the track was leaked online and played on the radio, leading Chapman to file a lawsuit seeking damages. The case eventually resulted in a settlement, with Minaj agreeing to pay Chapman $450,000, marking a significant moment in the ongoing discussions around copyright and sampling in the music industry.

Another legal issue involving Minaj surfaced in 2021, when she and Petty were sued by Jennifer Hough, a woman who accused Petty of sexual assault in 1994. Hough claimed that Minaj and Petty engaged in a campaign of harassment and intimidation, attempting to pressure her into recanting her allegations. Hough alleged that Minaj offered her money and other inducements to change her story, and when she refused, she faced threats and harassment. The lawsuit sought damages for emotional distress and other harm caused by this alleged conduct.

TLC Forced To Bail On Multiple Shows After T-Boz Is Hospitalized

The surviving members of TLC—Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas—were forced to cancel their shows this weekend after T-Boz was hospitalized. Although they initially suspected it was food poisoning, it wound up being much more serious.

On Saturday (August 24), TCL shared a statement to their Instagram account explaining what happened. It reads in part, “After delivering an electrifying performance in Toledo, Ohio on Thursday, TLC was eagerly anticipating their next stop at the New York State Fair in Syracuse. However, shortly after arriving in Syracuse, Tionne ’T-Boz’ Watkins experienced sudden and severe nausea, vomiting and intense abdominal cramps. She was immediately seen by a doctor and subsequently taken to the hospital for further evaluation.

“Last evening, Tionne was diagnosed with severe abdominal blockage, necessitating the cancellation of both the Syracuse and Foxwoods performances. She remains in the hospital under medical supervision but is expected to be released tomorrow. The doctor verified this was not food poisoning but an abdominal blockage.”

The statement went on to say how deeply T-Boz regrets having to cancel the shows and that she’ll reschedule as soon as possible.

T-Boz has been living with sickle cell anemia, a hereditary blood disorder, since birth. Sickle cell anemia causes red blood cells to become rigid and shaped like a sickle, leading to various health complications, including pain, infections and organ damage. Despite the challenges of this condition, T-Boz has been open about her experiences and has become an advocate for awareness and support for those affected by the disease.

TLC is one of the best-selling girl groups of all time and originally consisted of T-Boz, Chilli and Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. Their albums, including CrazySexyCool and FanMail, produced hits like “Waterfalls,” “No Scrubs” and “Creep,” solidifying their place in music history.

The group faced a devastating loss on April 25, 2002, when Left Eye died in a car accident while on a spiritual retreat in Honduras. Despite this loss, TLC has continued to honor Left Eye’s legacy and her influence remains integral to their identity.

Beyoncé Presence Felt Despite Absence From DNC

Beyoncé was never slated to perform at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago — contrary to earlier reports.

Vice President Kamala Harris made her nomination official to the sound of Beyoncé’s#### “Freedom” on the closing night.

Despite rumors suggesting the global pop sensation would grace the stage of the United Center on the final evening of the event, representatives for Beyoncé denied such plans.

“Beyoncé was never scheduled to be there,” her spokesperson confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. “The report of a performance is untrue.”

Though absent in person, Beyoncé’s influence was unmistakable. Vice President Kamala Harris walked on and off the stage to formally accept the Democratic nomination using Freedom, her 2016 collaboration with Kendrick Lamar.

This track has been a recurring theme in Harris’s campaign, with Beyoncé granting explicit permission for its use.

Throughout the week, the DNC showcased a lineup of prominent musical acts.

Earlier in the night, pop artist Pink delivered an emotional performance of her 2017 anthem “What About Us” alongside her daughter, Willow Hart.

Also captivating the audience, The Chicks performed a soulful rendition of the U.S. National Anthem.

Other musicians who added their voices to the convention included Mickey Guyton, Jason Isbell, Patti LaBelle, Common, John Legend, Stevie Wonder, and Maren Morris, contributing to various performances over the four-day event.

Organizers arranged a politically charged and entertainment-rich event, blending powerful speeches with stirring musical interludes.

While Beyoncé was absent, her music served as a resonant backdrop, enhancing the symbolic and emotional weight of the proceedings.

By the end of the week, the Democratic Party managed to harmonize its message of unity and resilience with cultural and artistic expressions, creating a memorable and synergistic experience for attendees and viewers alike.

Judge Endorsed $600M Deal For Michael Jackson’s Catalog—But There’s More To It

Katherine Jackson’s battle to prevent a major sale of Michael Jackson’s music catalog ended in Los Angeles when a judge ruled her appeal “lacked merit.”

The decision upholds a plan to sell half of the late pop icon’s extensive collection to Sony Music Group, an agreement reportedly valued at $600 million.

In recent years, the Jackson family matriarch has tirelessly opposed the sale.

Katherine argued that the deal between the co-executors of Michael Jackson’s estate—John Branca and John McClain—and Sony violated the terms of the singer’s will and trust.

Despite her efforts, the court maintained that the executors were within their legal rights, noting the will grants them broad discretionary power.

“The will gave the executors broad powers of sale, with no exception for the specific assets at issue in this case,” read the court filing which People first reported. “As such, the probate court did not err in concluding that it was Michael’s intent to allow the executors to sell any estate assets, including those at issue in the proposed transaction.”

The judge also dismissed Katherine’s attempt to block the transaction, stating she had “forfeited” her argument by failing to raise her objections in a lower probate court.

Attempts to reach Katherine’s legal team for comment have been unsuccessful.

At 94, Katherine remains a lifetime beneficiary of a sub-trust from The Michael Jackson Family Trust, established after Michael died in 2009.

The trust also benefits Michael’s three children—Prince, 27, Paris, 26, and Bigi, 22—and various unnamed charities.

Michael Jackson’s estate generates approximately $75 million annually.

Earlier this year, Sony finalized a deal to acquire half of Michael’s publishing and recording masters for around $600 million.

This ruling clarifies the scope of the executors’ powers under Jackson’s will and illustrates the ongoing complexities of managing high-profile celebrity estates.

MGK Reveals Daughter’s Words That Prompted Sobriety Journey

MGK revealed how a poignant comment from his daughter Casie, now 15, propelled him to confront his drug addiction during a candid discussion on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast

The 34-year-old rapper shared that three years ago, Casie told him, “Dad, you know I can tell when you’re high.” This statement, MGK said, was a heart-wrenching wake-up call.

“My daughter’s words were the ultimate let-down,” MGK confessed. “It broke my heart.”

He detailed the gripping hold drugs had on his life and how it wasn’t a swift transition to seek help, highlighting that addictive substances had a “vice grip” on him.

This emotional catalyst set MGK on a journey to sobriety, culminating in a significant milestone.

Early this year, he received widespread acclaim from his fans after announcing he had been sober for one year.

Talking to the “Dumb Blonde” Podcast, he proudly declared, “I’m completely sober from everything. I don’t drink anymore. I haven’t drank since last August.”

MGK elaborated on his path to recovery, revealing that he quietly sought rehab after finishing his 2023 European Tour.

“I didn’t tell anybody outside of the people closest to me,” he explained. “That was my first time I ever went to rehab. They just gave me so many ways to operate the body and show where this anger is coming from and methods to quell it.”
