U.K Rapper Lady Leshurr Found Not Guilty of Assault But Says Allegations Ruined Her Career

Lady Leshurr has been cleared of assaulting her ex-girlfriend but says the court case ruined her career and left her with no income for the past year.

On Wednesday (November 1), a jury found the U.K. rapper not guilty of two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, per BBC. Her former girlfriend Sidnee Hussein accused Lady Leshurr of biting her hand so badly that she suffered “nerve damage.”

However, the rapper, who broke into the industry with her “Queen’s Speech” freestyle series, told the court Hussein’s then-partner Chante Boyea attacked her first. She claimed Boyea used her dog as a “weapon” during the incident in East London last October.

After the verdict, Lady Leshurr claimed she “was the victim,” but has had to pay for it with her career.

She thanked her supporters in an Instagram video update shared Wednesday following the not-guilty judgment.

“For the past year I’ve been battling a court case from people that accused me of stalking, harassing, and biting them but I was the victim,” she penned in the caption. “I was attacked and bitten by a dog and made out to be the aggressor.”

Lady Leshurr said she lost brand deals and was shunned by her peers over the allegations.

“For a whole year I have had no income. Today has been judgement day,” she said, adding, “I’m shaking whilst I write this.”

Ultimately, the 35-year-old said her career was ruined regardless of the outcome. Nonetheless, Leshurr resolved to “FINALLY get on with my life.” Check out her post below.

How to Take the Perfect Band Photo: 6 Tips

Success in the music industry isn’t just about the tracks you release. It’s also down to how you present yourself to the public.

A well-shot, composed and edited band photo is a lynchpin part of building an identity and getting across your personality.

So whether you’re an aspiring photographer or a band member looking for DIY photography tips, stick around and we’ll bring you up to speed with everything you need to know.

Selecting the Ideal Location for Your Band Photo

Choosing the right location is essential when taking a band photograph. A suitable backdrop can elevate the overall look and feel of your shot. Here are some points to consider:

  • Make sure the place reflects your band’s style.
  • Ensure it doesn’t distract from your subjects.
  • Scout for unique spots that add depth to your photos.

Last but not least, remember there are no strict rules in photography, so be creative and you’ll come up with something original.

Choosing the Right Composition and Framing

Composition is all about telling a story visually. This will guide your audience to absorb the correct message from your band photo. Here are some tips for effective framing:

  • Experiment with different camera angles.
  • Use techniques like the rule of thirds for an aesthetically balanced shot.
  • Place focal points where they naturally draw the viewer’s attention.

Ultimately, these are suggestions and not hard and fast rules, so embrace improvisation as it often leads to incredibly artistic results.

Editing Your Band Photo

Fine-tuning your photo can make significant differences in the final look. Below are some tips to consider while editing your band photograph:

  • Color correctness ensures visual harmony.
  • Contrast and brightness adjustments elevate image quality.
  • Tools like the Picsart free photo editor can help adjust these settings effortlessly, and even use AI to make tweaks automatically.

Enhancing the natural elements of your picture is important, but over-editing could lead to a less authentic result. So whatever you do, try to keep initial simplicity intact when editing.

Utilizing Optimal Lighting Techniques

Lighting is one of the most impactful factors in creating dynamic images. It can significantly affect mood, dimension, and overall visual appeal. Here are some lighting tips:

  • Capture photos during golden hour for softer shadows.
  • Use both natural and artificial light creatively.
  • Experiment with different types of light sources.

Also, consider how different lighting scenarios will compliment or enhance your band’s style during the shoot. The perfect balance of shadow and illumination creates depth in a photo.

Managing Group Poses Effectively

Capturing everyone’s personality in a band photo can be a chore. Effective posing is crucial for this. Here are some things to consider:

  • Coordinate poses but avoid looking too structured.
  • Ensure that all members are visible and highlighted.
  • Try out various standing, sitting or action poses.

In addition, comfort plays an essential role in creating natural-looking photographs. Always make sure your band feels at ease during the shoot, while also considering current fashion trends as well. This can really bring forth that all-important authenticity in the final shot.

Final Touches to Polish Your Shot

Once you have your raw shot, adding final touches can refine and finish it. Here are some things to consider for those crucial finishing touches:

  • Review all aspects of composition one more time.
  • Look out for distracting elements in the background. These can be removed with the aforementioned AI editing tools.
  • Ensure clarity and sharpness in every subject.

Even after a shoot is over, there’s much one can do in the post-production phase. Don’t underestimate fine-tuning during this stage. It will take your band photo from average to fantastic.

Final Thoughts

As with anything, practice makes perfect when it comes to band photography. Get out there, start snapping, and be discerning in the ones you choose to use.

Tems Recalls Life-Changing Experience In Ugandan Prison With No Bed Or Food

Nigerian singing sensation Tems has opened up about the time she was locked up in a Ugandan prison, revealing she believes it was a setup.

The “WAIT FOR U” hitmaker was arrested in Uganda alongside fellow Nigerian artist Omah Lay back in 2020 after performing at a concert, despite COVID-19 social distancing regulations. However, Tems claims she believed the organizer had all the necessary permits and her detention “was a setup.”

Nonetheless, she was hauled off to prison, where she spent two nights with no connection to the outside world.

“That was so scary,” Tems explained during an interview with Angie Martinez. “I spent two nights in prison. I thought I wasn’t gonna come out.”

Tems said she began crying soon after entering the prison. The uniform stunk. They don’t wash it,” she told Martinez.

The Grammy Award winner said the experience was life-changing; “It made me stop caring about so many things,” she admitted before opening up about her fellow inmates.

“All the women in there, they were there for nothing,” she added, recalling the stories of women who were locked up over petty disputes with husbands and fathers.

Checkout the clip below and watch the interview at the end of the page.

Tems Went Without Food During Her Time In Prison

Tems said conditions in the jail were appalling, and she was given a blanket but no bed.

“You’re just on the floor, no bed,” Tems said of her two nights behind bars. “I didn’t even know I was going to get out, I didn’t have any ears on the ground nobody told me anything. Outside people were like ‘free Tems, free Omah Lay’ but inside I was just hopeful, waiting. There’s no calls, you can’t make a phone call.”

She also revealed that she didn’t eat the rice porridge provided once a day to prisoners and so went without food, only sipping water. She was eventually released after her team met with the Ugandan president.

Slain Punjabi Rapper Sidhu Moosewala Life Story To Be Turned Into Film

A book about the assassination of Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moosewala is about to be adapted into a film and aims to shed light on his death. According to The Statesman, the rights to the book “Who Killed Moosewala?” by Jupinderjit Singh have been acquired by Matchbox Shots.

As previously reported by AllHipHop.com, Moosewala was killed in India on May 29, 2022, at the age of 28. He was a victim of a drive-by. The shooters shot up his vehicle, leaving 30 casings on the ground around the crime scene. He was declared dead after being rushed to the hospital.

The author said the book put a spotlight on Punjabi music and some of the darker sides of the culture. He also knew almost immediately that people wanted to see it as a movie.

“The moment the book was published, there was a lot of interest from various production houses. I was really impressed with the kind of work Matchbox Shots is producing, and I am thrilled that they have taken the rights to the book to develop it further,” Singh said.

Representatives from Matchbox Shots said that the film will demonstrate a connection between gangster culture and the music industry, and all the ways those two dynamics impacted Moosewala’s life.

“We have always found the macabre relationship between the music industry and gang wars in Punjab extremely intriguing,” Sarita Patil from the company said. Adding, “With Jupinderjit’s book ‘Who Killed Moosewala?’ we know we have a strong backbone for our story.”

One principal on the project is Dikssha Jyote Routray, who said that the story crafted by Singh is “a narrative that demands contemplation and understanding.”

EXCLUSIVE: NBA YoungBoy Says His Mental Health Is Deteriorating Under House Arrest

Chart-topping rapper NBA YoungBoy has petitioned the court for adjustments to his house arrest terms, citing a decline in mental health after almost two years of confinement to his Utah residence.

Since October 2021, his moves have been severely limited because he is on 24-7 house arrest, drastically impacting his music career and personal well-being.

The saga leading to NBA YoungBoy’s house arrest began with a Baton Rouge police operation in 2020, culminating in charges of firearms and narcotics possession. A federal indictment followed, leading to further legal entanglements, including an arrest in Los Angeles where a firearm was found in his possession.

Subsequent legal proceedings saw NBA YoungBoy subjected to stringent bail conditions significantly restricting his movement.

Despite facing these challenges, NBA YoungBoy’s defense insists he has been compliant with all pre-trial conditions, notably since his acquittal on the California charges in July 2022.

The request for house arrest modification is a response to over a year of adherence to his conditions, an effort by his defense to ease the limitations that have placed a strain on his mental health and impeded his professional endeavors.

Under the current house arrest terms, NBA YoungBoy is only allowed to leave his home for specific reasons, which have impeded his ability to record new music, shoot videos, and make personal appearances—activities integral to his career as a recording artist.

“Being confined to his home and unable to complete his employment obligations has led to
great anxiety, depression, loss of weight and sleep. [NBA YoungBoy] has been visibly stressed and has
expressed concern and loss of hope that he will be able to return to his contracted employment
obligation,” his lawyer James P. Manasseh explained.

The requested modifications center on broadening the scope of “employment-related activities” for greater flexibility and participation in his professional obligations.

Government lawyers have expressed concerns regarding the potential broadness of activities classified as “employment-related,” suggesting a risk of loosening the restrictions more than intended.

NBA YoungBoy’s legal said they are willing to negotiate precise definitions, assuring continued GPS monitoring and limited geographical movement. However, an agreement remains elusive, with the government declining the proposal.

A judge has yet to rule.

Did Burna Boy Really Turn Down $5 Million Over Some Weed?

Even though the saying “scared money don’t make no money” rings true, Burna Boy isn’t taking any risks to make a bag.

Well, at least his latest freestyle video would suggest so. As the international Afrobeat innovator continues to gear up for his upcoming I Told Them Tour, which kicks off in Los Angeles on November 3, he’s been sharing a glimpse of his preparation and rehearsal process with his fans. In what appears to be a recent freestyle video, Burna Boy seemingly dropped some multi-million dollar bombshell bars that provide a shocking glimpse of what his bookings are looking like.

Now I am not even going to play myself and act like I could decipher and transcribe the lyrics due to Burna Boy’s heavy vernacular. But what I will say I caught from the video is that he alleges he turned down a $5 million play in Dubai simply because he can’t smoke weed there. That might sound like bro is majorly cappin’, but I don’t think that’s the case.

For starters, we are talking about the same guy who sold out stadium last year. Not to mention UK rap star Fredo was purportedly detained in Dubai after allegedly being caught with cannabis while on vacation. Talk about getting your high blown in a major way!

Check out the full freestyle video below.

Blue Ivy Carter Was Only Supposed To Perform Once During Beyoncé’s Tour

Tina Knowles has revealed her granddaughter, Blue Ivy Carter, was only supposed to dance onstage once during Beyoncé’s “Renaissance” World Tour.

The 11-year-old, the eldest child of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, made her first surprise appearance on the world tour in Paris in May, showing off advanced choreography to her mom’s#### song “My Power.”

During an appearance on Sherri Shepherd’s talk show “Sherri” on Tuesday, Tina revealed that Blue Ivy’s dance wasn’t supposed to become a regular part of the show.

“I think she just loves to dance, and she was watching the girls rehearse, and she asked, she said, ‘I think I’m ready to go on stage,’ and her mom said, ‘No, no, I don’t think so Blue,'” Tina shared. “And then she thought about it and she said, ‘You know, if you work hard and you really come with it, then we’ll let you go one time.’ So it was supposed to be a one-time thing.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Tina joked that the Halo singer can get “really mean” when she’s changing costumes quickly backstage.

“We laughed about this recently because I was saying, ‘Girl, you get really mean back there,’ and I am really happy that I don’t have to be back there anymore,” she said.

Tina also divulged that her daughter has more than 100 costumes that she didn’t end up wearing on the tour, which wrapped last month.

“She told me that she wanted to have more than one stylist, and I actually hired four people,” the 69-year-old explained. “It would have been impossible (with one). We had over 600 costumes to choose from, and so she still has maybe 150 costumes that she hasn’t… But every night, she did at least five, four to five new costumes.”

Davido Set To Become Next Major International Cannabis Entrepreneur

There will soon be yet another artist-turned-cannabis industry entrepreneur and thanks to Gumbo Brands, it appears that individual will be none other than Davido.

Just in case you aren’t hip yet, Gumbo Brands is the new revolutionary industry player behind blockbuster collaborations with artists such as Moneybagg Yo, Kodak Black and now, Davido. Founded by Bronx native Karim “Luka Brazi” Butler and his wife Alexis Major, Gumbo originally partnered with Berner’s Cookies brand and has since expanded internationally into countries such as Thailand.

Now, it appears as though Davido will be the brand’s African ambassador for the launch of his own exclusive strain that will purportedly be dubbed “Coca Nuggs.” In an Instagram post shared to his personal profile, Butler pulled up on Davido with what appeared to be the ultimate welcome package. Complete with a couple pounds of his own strains, some exclusive mercy and a massive issued out chain donning the brand’s eponymous logo, it’s safe to say Davido is right at home with Gumbo Brands.

Not to mention Davido and Gumbo’s timing on the announcement of the strain is almost divine, considering he recently announced his Are We African Yet festival earlier this month. Something tells me he’ll make bank if Cocoa Nuggs are available for purchase during the festival.

Diddy Thinks About His Billionaire Status “Every Day”

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has revealed that he thinks about his billionaire status “every day.”

During a recent appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” the renowned rapper discussed his successes.

When he was asked whether he thinks about his billionaire status at night, Diddy replied with a laugh, “I think about it every day.”

“Look you have to understand me, I’m self-made I come from just putting two quarters together, $2 together, I was a paperboy when I was 12,” he explained of his childhood. “I wasn’t even allowed to be a paperboy, I was running a paperboy scam, you know what I’m saying, so I was delivering papers for paperboys and I was splitting the money with them.”

https://youtu.be/uL4iH-HLcXM?feature=shared

The 53-year-old continued, “You know from cleaning bathrooms in New York during the heatwave, just things that were just you know really, painting houses. You know doing all types of things so it’s like you work hard, you get what you deserve, and I’m blessed to have had people support me.”

The talk show host then asked Diddy who would be “the most surprised” at his current level of success.

“I would say my first girlfriend,” the Diddy responded.

After declining to reveal the girl’s name, Diddy told Jimmy, “She messed with my best friend and broke my heart.”

In 2022, Forbes estimated Diddy’s net worth to be at $1 billion.

Elsewhere in the interview, the rapper discussed his latest album, The Love Album: Off the Grid, which he described as an “R&B masterpiece.”

The album, which was released in September, features artists including Justin Bieber, Mary J. Blige, Burna Boy, Busta Rhymes and more.

Flavor Flav Addresses Critic Who Slammed His Viral National Anthem Performance

Flavor Flav performed the National Anthem at the Cleveland Bucks vs. Atlanta Hawks game on Sunday (October 29), much to people’s surprise. The clip of the Public Enemy legend belting out “The Star-Spangled Banner” went viral and many applauded his gusto. But there were others who were unfairly critical and mean. On Tuesday (October 31), Flavor Flav addressed a person who tweeted their “dog” could have executed the song at a higher level. Flav replied, simply, “I challenge you to do better.” Of course, the person then deleted the tweet.

People who were in the crowd appeared to love Flavor Flav’s rendition. Wearing one of his signature clocks, a pair of sunglasses, white baseball cap and a green Bucks jersey, Flavor Flav left the audience completely awe-struck. As Flav belted out lyrics like, “And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air/Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there,” blips of cheers and applause kept coming his way. At the end of the clip, someone can be heard yelling, “That’s the best national anthem ever!”

Speaking to TMZ later, Flav revealed he accepted the invitation to sign the National Anthem in honor of his family members who fought in the military, including his father, and other veterans and their families.

“When I sang that National Anthem, I was singing it for them because they’re not here to sing it for themselves,” Flavor Flav explained. “I did that in honor of my family and also for a lot of other people’s families, too, that fought for this country. I was kinda proud of myself. I sang it my way and I gave it my own twist.”

Flavor Flav also shared that other NBA teams have invited him to perform, adding, “There’s two other NBA teams that invited me, I’m just not gonna say who they are right now.”

The father of eight also addressed the performance in an Instagram post following the main event. He wrote, “The anthem was a long time bucket list item, that was fun! I can’t live my life worried about what people might say about me. I won’t let that stop me from trying new things and doing things I wanna do. Some people might not like that. But a sure failure is if you stop trying. ”

Kanye West & Kim Kardashian’s Kid North West Wants To Take Over Family Businesses

North West has landed her first-ever solo magazine feature.

The 10-year-old, the eldest daughter of Kim Kardashian star and rapper Kanye West, has landed her first solo magazine cover and feature story with i-D Magazine.

During the interview, North West, who described herself as “The Best Ever,” discussed several topics, including what she wants to be when she grows up.

“A basketball player, a rapper, um… Well, when I was seven, I wanted to be a boxer,” North said of her aspirations. “But now I don’t want to be a boxer. I’m going to do art on the side. When I’m, like, thirteen, I want to walk dogs, to make money to buy art supplies, because everything around here is so expensive.”

She continued, “So a rapper, a basketball player, and I’m going to make artwork that I sell. Also, one day I want to own Yeezy and SKIMS, and I want to be a business owner.”

Elsewhere in the interview, North West, who often draws the attention of paparazzi, was asked whether she likes to have her picture taken.

“Yes. Only when I want to, because ehhh, I don’t want to sometimes,” she said, adding, “But not by the paparazzi.” North also supported her father by revealing that her favorite song is his 2004 track “Through the Wire.”

Lauryn Hill Says She Can “Barely Talk” After Canceling Another Show

Lauryn Hill has postponed shows in Philadelphia and Texas due to ongoing vocal issues.

The 48-year-old singer postponed her Monday performance at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, as a result of suffering from vocal strain over the past week.

“As you may know, I’ve been doing my best to overcome a serious case of vocal strain/injury over the past week or so,” the Grammy winner wrote hours before the concert.

“I fought through the last couple shows, pushing my voice, and masking the injury with medication. This isn’t safe or sustainable,” she continued. “I woke up this morning hoping to have enough voice to get through tonight, but I can barely talk let alone sing or rap.”

A post shared by Ms. Lauryn Hill (@mslaurynhill)

The cancellation came a week after the R&B star postponed a Philadelphia date. She is currently on her 25th anniversary tour, celebrating her 1998 album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.

“I need to heal and rest the voice in order to continue the tour. For these reasons, sadly, my doctors have advised me to postpone tonight’s show,” Lauryn explained in the post.
“Much love to all of you for your support, and I look forward to coming back to Texas soon.”

The “Doo-Wop” singer has not yet announced the rescheduled dates for the shows.

Lauryn kicked off her tour on 8 September in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is set to hit cities including Los Angeles, Seattle, Atlanta and Miami, before wrapping up in Boston, Massachusetts, on 13 December.

A$AP Rocky Drags Paparazzi On Jog Through L.A. Neighborhood

Some paparazzi will do anything to get a quote, photograph or video, and that includes one photog from TMZ who chased A$AP Rocky through the streets of L.A.—literally. On Tuesday (October 31), the Hollywood-based publication shared a clip of the woman chasing Rocky through a neighborhood, hoping to get him to answer questions about Drake, Rihanna and just about anything she could think of. The most impressive part was she nearly kept up. As she says in the clip, Rocky is “fast.”

Rocky remained rather tight lipped any time a question was hurled in his direction, even letting out an audible chuckle when the panting photog asked about Rihanna wanting more children. The woman eventually gave up, clearly out of breath and tired, but she did find him after he was done running. He ultimately invited her to lunch, telling her, “You’re a trooper. God bless you. I heard about what happened. Lunch on me, alright? ‘Cause I heard you threw it up, so lunch is on me. I got you girl.”

The woman, who kicked off her shoes at one point to keep running with A$AP Rocky, was elated over the invite and managed to get at least one comment about his forthcoming album, Don’t Be Dumb. But as far as Drake’s diss on For All The Dogs album, he stayed mum. Drake hinted his sex life with Rihanna was “average” and wasn’t envious of Rocky’s role in her life.

But considering, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have already had two children together, it doesn’t seem they’re struggling in that department. The couple welcomed their second child, Riot Rose, in August. She unveiled her second pregnancy during her infamous Super Bowl Halftime Show performance earlier this year.

Rihanna and Rocky announced they were expecting their first child together in January 2022 after they were spotted strolling through New York City with her bump on full display. Less than five months later, they welcomed their son, RZA Athelston Mayers, on May 13, 2022.

Lil Nas X Shocks Fans With Tampon Halloween Costume

Lil Nas X has been relatively quiet over the last several months. This week saw the “Old Town Road” hitmaker cause a stir online once again with his 2023 Halloween outfit.

Earlier Wednesday morning (November 1), Lil Nas X shared a 21-second video of himself dressed as a bloody tampon. The 24-year-old recording artist could be seen walking with a rope attached to a fake v#####.

LNX’s post on X went viral as it racked up 1.2 million views and 15,000 likes in eight hours. The Instagram version of the costume reveal clip amassed an additional 420,000 likes on that social media platform.

Lil Nas X has not been afraid to embrace controversial content throughout his career. As part of the promotion for his “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)” song, the Georgia native attempted to sell reimagined Nike Air Max 97s described as “Satan Shoes” which supposedly contained a drop of human blood.

In 2021, Nike sued Lil Nas and “Satan Shoes” co-creators MSCHF for trademark infringement. The athletic apparel corporation reportedly settled its lawsuit against the New York-based art collective. MSCHF removed the sneakers from circulation.

Additionally, the award-winning “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)” music video received widespread backlash because the visual featured Lil Nas X giving a Satan character a lap dance. However, the negative press actually helped the Montero album single debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Diddy Reacts To Rumors Will & Jada Smith Wanted Threesome With Jennifer Lopez

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith continue to make news. Somewhat surprisingly, the former celebrity couple of Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jennifer Lopez is now entangled in the Smith’s gossip.

Diddy stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! to promote his The Love Album: Off the Grid album. Kimmel questioned the Love Records founder about a rumor that he once wanted to fight Will Smith over Jennifer Lopez.

“I saw a guy on the internet the other day who said he used to be your security guard who said that when you were dating J.Lo, Will Smith and Jada tried to pick her up on a threesome and you were gonna beat up Will Smith. Is that true?” Kimmel asked.

After giving the late-night talk show host a cold-eyed stare, Diddy responded, “This show has gotten crazier since the last time I was here [laughs]… You really heard that? Nah… I don’t know what you’re talking about. Jimmy, I thought we were friends. Where did this interview just go?”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uL4iH-HLcXM

Diddy and Jennifer Lopez dated for about two years between 1999 and 2001. The Hip-Hop mogul and the Bronx-bred actress/singer were involved in an infamous 1999 shooting incident at a Manhattan nightclub which reportedly led to their breakup.

In 2021, Lopez rekindled her “Bennifer” romance with Academy Award winner Ben Affleck after their headline-grabbing relationship in the mid-2000s. Additionally, Diddy is currently dating City Girls member and his “Gotta Move On” collaborator Caresha “Yung Miami” Brownlee.

Jada Pinkett Smith’s recent press run for her New York Times best-selling Worthy memoir included the A Different World star revealing intimate details about her estranged marriage with Will Smith. Last month, Will declared he plans to support his “best friend” for the rest of his life.

Noname Addresses Criticizing Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Rihanna & The NFL On “Namesake”

“I ain’t f#####’ with the NFL or Jay-Z. Propaganda for the military complex,” raps Noname on her “Namesake” track. The Chicago-raised MC also mentioned Rihanna, Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar on the song.

Noname’s “Namesake” lives on the Sundial studio album which came out on August 11, 2023. Apple Music 1’s Ebro Darden spoke to the 32-year-old recording artist about her latest project and specifically her criticism of Jay-Z.

“I don’t hate this man,” said Noname about the Roc Nation founder. “I don’t know Jay-Z. He’s a total stranger. We just have ideological differences. That’s all, which the song was just talking about a lot of things, but definitely complacency from all of us.”

Jay-Z faced significant backlash for partnering with the NFL to produce the annual Super Bowl Halftime Show after the league essentially blackballed former quarterback Colin Kaepernick for kneeling during the playing of the national anthem in 2016.

Rihanna aligned with the NFL in recent years as well. The Barbadian billionaire headlined the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show earlier this year. That performance from the Anti album creator became the most-watched Halftime Show in history.

Beyoncé was the featured Super Bowl music act in 2013, prior to Kaepernick’s nonviolent protests. However, the former Destiny’s Child lead singer is married to Jay-Z. Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar took part in the Emmy-winning mid-game concert in 2022.

“I think the names got the most focus like, ‘Go Rihanna, go. Go, Beyonce, go.’ But really that was supposed to be me mimicking the crowd like, ‘This is how y’all look, making all these critiques about folks on the internet but then we’d be running to the shows to go and support,'” Noname explained.

She also added, “I have made similar moves in my own career where I’ve contradicted myself, where I’ve done things or supported institutions that I don’t really believe in and that’s why I called the song ‘Namesake.’ Because even though I’m saying all this stuff, I am the same. We are all one in the same.”

Halle Bailey & DDG Show Off Whitney Houston & Bobby Brown Halloween Costumes

Many social media users crowned singer Halle Bailey and rapper Darryl “DDG” Granberry Jr. as the winners of this year’s unofficial Halloween contest. The two entertainers paid homage to a classic 1990s movie and an iconic music couple.

Halle Bailey and DDG kicked off Halloween season by dressing up as Janet Jackson and Tupac Shakur’s characters from the John Singleton-directed romantic drama Poetic Justice. Shakur played Lucky. Jackson starred as Justice.

On October 29, both Bailey and Grandberry posted photographs of themselves as Justice and Lucky. Bailey’s X post collected over 7 million views and 170,000 likes. DDG’s X post amassed 3.1 million views and 82,000 likes.

However, DDG and Halle Bailey did not stop with just those 2Pac/Janet outfits. They shared more pictures for a second set of costumes. This time, the pair recreated famous images of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown.

Bailey captioned her photos, “nippy & bobby ♥️🤣🎶#Halloween2023.” For his tweet, DDG wrote, “We locked in like Bobby & Whitney 🖤.” After getting married in 1992, Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston became regular gossip fodder until they separated fourteen years later.

One female X user complained, “DDG [is] not even half of Bobby Brown and it’s not close, let’s start there.” In response, the YouTuber shot back, “Nah [you’re] right, [you] would’ve played Bobby better than me fasho🤣 🦷 🦷.”

Halle Bailey and DDG have faced criticism for their relationship since it began in 2022. DDG routinely addresses the negativity directed at him for dating The Little Mermaid actress. Despite the complaints, Bailey called Grandberry her “first deep, deep, real love.”
