Bebe Rexha slid into Snoop Dogg’s DMs to ask him to collaborate on a song with her.
During a recent appearance on “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” the TV host asked the “Meant to Be” singer how she got the legendary rapper to feature on her new track Satellite.
Accordingly, Bebe recalled how she simply sent Snoop a request via Instagram.
“I feel like you always have to hustle to make things happen yourself sometimes. So, I went on Instagram and was like, ‘Let me just send him a message.’ I said, ‘Hey, I have a song, I’d love to send it to you. If you like it, I’d love for you to rap on it, do your thing, if not (that’s O.K. too).’ And he called me the next morning at 7 am with a (marijuana) blunt in his mouth, and he smoked and like blew his smoke to the phone and was like, ‘Check your email.’ And I was like, ‘WHAT!'”
Bebe released her self-titled third studio album last month, with the project also featuring appearances from David Guetta and Dolly Parton.
Yet, the star insisted Satellite remains her top song at the moment. “It was one of my favorite songs on the album,” the 33-year-old smiled.
Will Evans has accomplished a lot as a musician, including paving the way as the frontman for New England Roots Rock band Barefoot Truth. Now, he shifts his focus to his own solo artistry, continuing to exercise his love for music, showcase his skills as a multi-instrumentalist, and of course, effortlessly crooning his soulful vocals.
Describing himself as “a dark chocolate lover, a dad, and a musical medicine maker,” Will Evans’ music is meant to uplift and inspire the masses, delivering messages of family, love, hope, and inclusion.
Most recently, Will Evans unveiled his newest single and visual titled “Old Soul,” tapping Jurassic 5 founder Chali 2NA. The record arrives as the result of a decade-long friendship, reeling in elements of funk, afrobeats, and feel-good hip-hop. The visual pays homage to all the things Evans grew up surrounded by in Rhode Island, including street art, his go-to barber shop, graffiti, b-boys, and of course, emceeing.
When Will isn’t working, he’s spending time with his three-year-old daughter (with a newborn on the way) and his pup. He’s also a lifelong surfer and environmentalist with an unwavering passion and desire for protecting the earth.
AllHipHop spoke with Will Evans, who was enjoying his day outside in Rhode Island. Read below as we discuss his sound, how he got into music, collaborating with Chali 2NA, transitioning from band to solo artist, studio essentials, goals, and more!
AllHipHop: I see you’re eating chocolate, is that mushroom chocolate?
Will Evans: It is. It has cacao, raw Tahitian vanilla, ashwagandha, and a bunch of different mushrooms. I was just outside of Asheville, I played at a chocolate factory. Now we’re teaming up and making my own branded chocolate that I’ll be selling at shows.
AllHipHop: How would you describe your sound?
Will Evans: It’s definitely a c##########. [laughs] But we decided to go with kind folk, because it’s music rooted in kindness, compassion and community. Stylistically though, I like to dip into all types of genres. Folk, reggae, and some Hip Hop. Really anything with rhythm. I started as a drummer so at the core of all my songs, it has to feel rhythmically inspiring.
AllHipHop: When’d you fall in love with music?
Will Evans: I started singing at a Baptist church when I was a kid, probably second grade. I just loved the feel of my voice in unison or in harmony with others, the sense of fulfillment that brought me was pretty self-evident from a young age. I don’t think I ever didn’t have music in my life in some way. It was sort of a matter of time before I figured out a way to make a living just doing it,
which took some time. I started playing in bars when I was 16. You could still smoke in the bars then, which was rough. [laughs] I’d go home with a hoarse voice and smelled like booze and cigarettes, I was so happy. I wasn’t deterred by the late nights and the bar fights.
In music, your career is like a rollercoaster right? One night, you’ll play to 5000 people in a beautiful theater, and the next you’re playing in the corner by the jukebox. Having the experience of both has been really valuable for me to be able to discern that
it’s not just the adoration, the fans, and all the other stuff that are why I do it. It’s literally because I have to. It’s a part of my soul. Because there’s been so many times where I’ve wanted to stop and I just can’t.
AllHipHop: Congrats on the release of “Old Soul,” how’d that record come about with Chali 2NA?
Will Evans: I’ve been a big fan of Jurassic 5 for a long time. I met Chali at an event we were both playing at in 2010. He was such a humble nice dude. I made a mental note: if I ever write the right song that I could get him to do a feature on, it’s on my bucket list. We’re literally sitting around the campfire at my house and I had this tune. I was talking about wanting to have a first with Chali on it. My buddy at the time was tour managing Slightly Stoopid, which is a reggae group out of
Southern California. Chali was out touring with them.
He’s like “oh well, I can just text him right now.” He texted him right then and we started chatting at the fireplace. I said “hey, I’ve got this track.” I sent it over. That’s the amazing thing about music nowadays, you can record with folks from all over the world, just send tracks to each other. The collaborative side of it is really appealing to me now, I want to do more of it.
AllHipHop: You said it was over a decade in the making?
Will Evans: I met him in 2010, he tracked it in 2022. It happened, but it took 12 years. But you know, it happened.
AllHipHop: Where was the video shot and what was the best memory?
Will Evans: I shot the video in Columbus, Ohio where I was doing some of the final tracking for the album. The girls that sang backup vocals on it, they helped set up the whole scene. I wanted to go to a barber shop and get a proper fade, really capture that urban flair that I love so much from early Hip Hop. Hip Hop with an actual band playing is my favorite type of Hip Hop. I wanted it to feel fun and really nostalgic. Having breakdancers and the girls in there, just set a vibe. We did it all handheld style with a cell phone, because it’s raw. That’s what I like about Hip Hop, it’s blemishes.
AllHipHop: Talk about going from being a band to solo artist, how was that transition?
Will Evans: At first it sucked a lot, because all the places I had played before wouldn’t book me again. It was like really starting over in a way, but it became another mountain to climb. It was really liberating in some ways, because you keep chipping away at it. In the end really, it’s a journey. If you’ve reached the pinnacle too soon, then what’re you going to do? It’s been fun to really commit to the craft of writing, and also to show my daughter: “hey, you can do whatever you put your heart behind. Dad’s out here grinding, but he’s doing what he loves.” That’s important.
AllHipHop: 3 things you need in the studio at all times?
Will Evans: Avocados, they can make some guac. I often need my dog Ellie, because she’s my therapy. She’s a rescue. She’s a Basset Hound mix, she has Corgi in her too. Ellie goes with me everywhere I tour, she’s literally my wingman. She’d need to be with me. I put her on my rider so if I’m playing the venue, they know she’s coming. Sometimes she gets a meal, grilled chicken. Probably some Throat Coat honey Tea, because you’re doing a lot of takes. Right now, I’m nursing a cold. I’ve been crushing the Throat Coat. I’ll have a little whiskey in there, just to take the edge off.
AllHipHop: Do you have any goals for yourself?
Will Evans: Geez, big questions. [laughs] Just be a good father. Find that balance of doing what I have to do to provide, but also being really present in my kids’ lives. Such a crazy scary world right now, so I just want to wrap them up and enjoy that time together.
AllHipHop: Anything else you want to let the people know?
Will Evans: Do the most good with what you can, creating the least amount of harm to the earth please. Pick up your trash, don’t leave trash on the beach. Such a bummer, what a beautiful planet we’re taking advantage of. On a hopeful note: if we’ve figured out how to destroy it, maybe we can also figure out how to save it. It starts with small actions and really, community. Bringing that community behind a movement, whether it’s music, dance, culture. Art is so powerful in that it breaks down boundaries. Here we are talking. I don’t know what music you like listening to but
you’re a fan of music obviously. We can find common ground so easily.

In celebration of his 90th birthday, country icon Willie Nelson called fellow weedhead Snoop Dogg on stage with him to perform a duet.
The mindblowing, sold-out, cross-cultural set was performed at the Hollywood Bowl on Saturday, April 29, Nelson’s actual birthday, according to Variety.
The jam session was part of a two-day tribute series with others like Neil Young, Dave Matthews, Beck, Chris Stapleton, Miranda Lambert, Sheryl Crow, The Chicks, the Lumineers, Ziggy Marley, Miranda Lambert, Beck, Chris Stapleton, Tom Jones, Norah Jones, Bob Weir, Jack Johnson, Margo Price and about 30 other acts singing some 75 of the legend’s hits.
Singer Kris Kristofferson was also on deck making a rare appearance for his friend.
On Saturday, Nelson took his sweet time to get to the stage three hours after the 220-minute festivities started.
Snoop and Nelson performed their duet on “Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die.”
In this song, Snoop is not rapping. Instead, he warbles with his friend, breaking to ask, “Is anybody out there smoking tonight? Roll one for Mr. Nelson.”
The covering journalist said in less than a minute, everyone pulled out their bud and started to blaze.
Check out some other songs the two have made with each other.
Swizz Beatz has recalled how he believed he might not walk again amid a past health scare.
During a recent appearance on “The Jennifer Hudson Show,” the music producer – real name Kasseem Dean – reflected on the time he ended up in hospital after pushing himself too far several years ago.
“When you come from nothing, and you finally get success, and finally get a piece of what you thought you could never get from your surroundings – we just have a habit of going hard as men, as women… and it caught up to me,” he stated.
“I remember staying up for four days straight just over-pushing it. It messed up my immune system – I had spinal meningitis,” Swizz revealed.
Swizz then recounted how a doctor at the hospital told him he may not be able to walk again shortly after he was admitted.
“I remember going to the hospital, and the doctor was cold. He was cold as ice,” the 44-year-old recalled. “As soon as I walked in, he said, ‘O.K., you might not die, but you definitely can’t walk again.’ That was the first thing they said to me when I went into the hospital. But I was in so much pain, I was like, ‘Let’s get on to it.’ But, Alhamdulillah (praise be to God), I learned how to walk again, I came back, and I beat the odds with that one.”
Accordingly, Swizz – who is married to Alicia Keys – insisted that he no longer takes his health for granted.
“And now, I try to take my health a little bit more serious,” he added.
The Detroit emcee has laid low in recent times, but that does not mean he has not been working. Quite the opposite is true. He’s also embarked on a collection of new experiences that will certainly forge a pathway to the future. This includes new music, a VR venture called the Heaven Experience and intense mentorship. Royce says earnestly, “I’ve been taking a lot of breaks. I like breaks. I need breaks. You know what I mean? But I make sure that I express to my sons how important it is for them not to take breaks.”
Times have changed since Ryan Montgomery hit the scene with the likes of Eminem. In fact, everything has changed, from the people, the music, and most importantly – it seems – the technology. Neither the metaverse nor artificial intelligence are new, conceptually or in reality. What is new is how each’s use has increased at an amazingly rapid rate recently.
Platinum-selling, Grammy Award-winning rapper now has his own virtual platform to engage, educate and entertain his fans. The “The Heaven Experience” is Web3 with a uniquely Hip-Hop twist. It also creates a community with access to songs, performances, interviews, VIP events, and more. Check out some highlights from this chat with Chuck “Jigsaw” Creekmur and check out the full video, straight from Heaven.
WHAT WILL VR STRIP CLUBS BE LIKE IN THE FUTURE?
Royce: What about strip clubs?
Chuck Creekmur: Bruh, I think they’re going to find a way.
Royce: I can’t wait to see them figure this s### out. It’s not possible. I don’t think it’s possible.
Chuck Creekmur: You might have to buy some extra things. But yeah, I think they …
Royce: You going to have to have a hell of an imagination.
Chuck Creekmur: Yo, I don’t know. So wait, wait. So wait. Somebody helped you with this experience. What if they say, “Yo, Royce, we could add a strip club on the sidewalk over here, and you walk into this strip club experience. You got to buy Suzy the Android. Cost you $1,000.”
Royce: Yeah. The Android lap dance?
Chuck Creekmur: Yeah, the Android lap dance. And then you get another experience. It’s only a matter of time.
Royce: Yeah, yeah. It’s definitely doable. I just know you use the word, your senses. So I mean you can’t touch her. You can’t physically touch her, and you can’t smell her. That’s not possible for AI.
Chuck Creekmur: Okay. So everything’s up here, right? Everything’s up here. Even your sense of smell is here. I don’t know how they would do it, but they can probably simulate even you thinking you smelling something, I think. That’s what I think.
Royce: That’s spooky.
Chuck Creekmur: It is spooky. 10 years. I give it five. I’ll give it five years. Five, maybe 10 because-
ROYCE’S THOUGHTS ON A.I. (ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE)
Royce: I think it’s interesting. I think I’m open to seeing exactly what’s going to start to come from having this tool. I think it’s going to be either a tool or a weapon, depending on how you use it. It’s one of those things where you don’t get to choose to play in the game or not. You just in it. So I think those who accept it as that and can take it and just start trying to make adjustments to it, I think will be the ones who will be in the best space later on down the line. But it’s here. It’s coming. You know what I mean?
But just like with anything that can be a tool online, it can also be used as a weapon. I seen something where there were people who were getting phone calls. A lady would get a phone call, and it would be somebody on the other line saying that they have her daughter or her son and they want ransom money. But then they’ll put her on the phone with who she thinks is her daughter like, “Mommy, please come with the money.” It’ll be something small, like $500.
They’ll just give it up in a state of panic. Come to find out you were just talking to A.I.
HOW IT FEELS DROPPING NEW MUSICAND WHY THINGS ARE COMPLICATED
Royce: Yeah. I mean it feels good. It feels good. I mean the music is just a byproduct of the experience. You know what I mean? I’ve been releasing music for 20+ years, so it’s like I’m more so … There’s a level of due diligence that I’m doing right now. I’m taking more comfortable steps into the future while I’m figuring things out. Musically, I can give you that however you want it. You know what I’m saying? That’s not even a challenge anymore. You know what I mean?
So now it’s like I got music sitting around. I got ideas. I record all the time. You know what I’m saying? It’s turning into the same old song and dance to me. You know what I mean? How to make it fun and not feel like work is what the challenge is. You know what I mean? So that’s kind of my feelings on it, to answer your question. That’s how I feel about the music at the moment.
But I kind of feel like that about music in general as a fan. As a fan, I don’t have the same attachment to it because I feel like everything is becoming neat. I feel like that the gray area that used to be there is kind of gone now. So I feel like you got either mainstream or you have niche in every category that you can think so. It’s turning into people just focusing on their demographic, and they’re doing it strictly for them. So you could be a huge star, and it be in your own world.
It used to be like that. When Get Rich or Die Tryin’ came out, probably the last physical copy sold album of that magnitude, you couldn’t escape it. Stop at a red light, you hear it in somebody’s car. You go to the mall, a different song off the album’s playing out of every store, all over the radio, all over everything. You couldn’t escape it. Now it’s now that people can kind of curate their own lives, you could be huge and somebody would have never heard none of your songs if they didn’t go and decide to engage in your universe.
I think that’s the way that the world is turning. You know what I mean? With that being said, it’s kind of changing my experience as a fan a little bit along with what you just said, too, that you’re going through. As I get older, it’s certain s### that I just don’t want to hear. You know what I mean? I don’t want to sit and listen to “shoot ’em up rap” all day.
The 1998 single “Are You That Somebody” is one of the most popular songs in Aaliyah’s catalog. The late singer’s longtime musical collaborator, Timbaland, produced the track which lives on the Dr. Dolittle soundtrack.
Aaliyah’s “Are You That Somebody” apparently drew inspiration from another kid-friendly film. Timberland spoke about creating the classic tune during a panel discussion at the 21st Annual Pop Conference at NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music.
“I actually was trying to make the Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory beat from the ‘Oompa-Loompa’ song,” revealed Timbaland. “I took that rhythm and I listened back to it and I was like, ‘Man, that’s a dope addition.’ That’s what I was trying to attempt but in a Hip Hop way.”
“Are You That Somebody” peaked at No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song also topped the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay rankings for eight weeks. “Are You That Somebody” earned Aaliyah a Grammy nomination for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance.
Timbaland’s iconic beat for “Are You That Somebody” famously features baby noises. The four-time Grammy winner also discussed using that unorthodox sound for the Static Major-written record during his appearance at this year’s Pop Conference.
“So I was going through my effects sounds, and I heard this baby. Was it a baby, was it a chicken, there was a cow, there was Godzilla, this whole row. And this baby came across, and it was laughing, and that [one sound] wasn’t the whole thing,” said Timbaland.
He continued, “I got to that one part, and as soon as the beat came on, I just hit the button. I didn’t think it was gonna work. I was talking to Aaliyah from where she was sitting on the couch, and I just hit the button and it was in key. Everything was perfect. I put it in the song and she said, ‘Oh, that’s so cute!'”
N.O.R.E., Joe Budden and Cam’ron have engaged in a war of words on the internet. Apparently, the hostility began after N.O.R.E. and Budden had a discussion about rappers becoming media figures last month. The co-host of Drink Champs and host of The Joe Budden Podcast took some veiled shots at their competitors.
“You know what’s crazy?” N.O.R.E. said. “I’m looking at these rappers trying shows now, rappers from our era. And they are so failing. They’re doing sports shows, they’re doing comedy shows. They’re talking about, ‘Yo, I’m up. I’m just doing this for fun.’ No, you are not.”
Cam’ron has his own sports-centered digital show called It Is What It Is. The Harlem native assumed N.O.R.E.’s dismissive comments onThe Joe Budden Podcast were directed at him. Cam then responded on Instagram.
“Damn, @therealnoreaga told you I couldn’t trust you. Lolol. I’m just f###### [with] ya,” he wrote. “But what other rapper from the 90s got the sports and cooking show? U know u my n#### for life.”
He added, “But ya man ‘Hoe Budden’ threw [you] under the bus on the very [next] episode said he didn’t know who [you were] talking bout. I don’t give a f### how his numbers [are]. N.O., stay away from that crackhead!!!!”
Budden fired back at Cam’ron. In addition, N.O.R.E. addressed the heated situation as well. The Queens-bred rapper-turned-podcaster took to Twitter on Sunday (April 30) to offer a response to his “Glory” collaborator.
“Me and you are friends from the 90s,” he wrote. “You have my real-life phone number. You hung out with me for days before you did Drink Champs just to make sure I was the same yalla that you know. If you thought at any time I was going at you, why would you go to the internet 1st?”

Rising recording artist Coi Leray once again had something to say to her critics. The “Players” rapper used the Something in the Water Festival to get some things off her chest.
Coi Leray took a moment to address the crowd during her set at the Virginia Beach event. The Boston-born performer went into a tirade about unnamed individuals.
“People talk s### every f###### day. Every day it’s a hater on my dick, a new b#### got my name in her mouth. Somebody got something weird,” said Coi Leray at Something in the Water.
Leray added, “But the best thing that got me here is my team, and of course, number one, God. You can’t do it without them, period. If you’re a selfish b#### and you wanna be on some, ‘Imma do it myself’ – don’t be one of them.”
Previously, Coi Leray called out fellow rap star Latto by name on Twitter. The Trendsetter album creator took issue with Latto rapping “smoking on that gas, blunt big as Coi Leray” on her “Put It On Da Floor” track.
Grammy-nominated performer Jack Harlow dropped his third studio LP, Jackman, on April 28.
How is Jackman projected to do when it comes to first-week sales? According to HitsDailyDouble, Jack Harlow’s latest body of work will fall way short of his last opening week numbers.
Jackman is on pace to move 45,000-50,000 units in its first seven days of release. 2022’s Come Home the Kids Miss You debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart by earning 113,000 first-week units.
Come Home the Kids Miss You contained fifteen tracks and boasted a run time of 45 minutes. In contrast, the Jackman album features just ten tracks with a total run time of only 24 minutes.
Jack Harlow’s Thats What They All Say came out in December 2020. Thats What They All Say launched at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 with 51,000 units. Harlow’s debut studio LP ran for 42 minutes.
Come Home the Kids Miss You earned Jack Harlow a 2023 Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album. The Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping hit “First Class” scored a Best Melodic Rap Performance nomination at the same Grammy ceremony.
There has not been a large number of mainstream rap albums released in 2023 so far. No Hip Hop act has been able to hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 this year. Six Hip Hop projects led that chart in the first half of 2022.
Music and sports stars joined Quavious “Quavo” Marshall for the 5th Annual Huncho Day celebrity charity football game which took place on Saturday, April 29.
Atlanta-bred rappers Quavo and J.I.D attended the event held at Berkmar High School in Lilburn, Georgia. Athletes such as Jalen Ramsey, Jameis Winston, and D’andre Swift also appeared at Quavo’s alma mater.
According to organizers, Huncho Day raised $2 million for The Rocket Foundation, a non-profit organization Quavo launched in memory of his late nephew/fellow Migos member, Kirsnick “Takeoff” Ball.
“I look forward to Huncho Day every year because I get together with some of my close friends and come back to the place where it all started for me,” says Quavo.
The “I’m the One” hitmaker adds, “This year was extra special as we launched The Rocket Foundation in memory of Takeoff. It was a day where we got to play some football, raise money for the community, and remember Take.”
Ronnie2k hosted the 5th Annual Huncho Day, presented by Legends. Quavo captained Team Huncho. Jalen Ramsey led Team Ramsey. Team Huncho won the game with Quavo receiving the Most Valuable Player award.
“Legends is always proud to support Quavo and especially on this fifth annual Huncho Day,” states Scott Hochstadt, Founder and CEO of Legends.
Hochstadt also says, “Community involvement is a core value of the Legends brand and we’re thankful to have all of this talent across the sports and entertainment world alongside us to collectively support the launch of The Rocket Foundation as well as the entire community of Atlanta.”
Winter Rae, the unstoppable force of inspiration and resilience, has released a surprise EP titled “Popstar” to the delight of her fans. The independent artist has risen above all odds to become a symbol of perseverance and dedication, and this latest release is a testament to her unwavering commitment to her craft.
Winter’s inspiration to write music came at an early age, and she began writing her own music at just seven years old. Despite significant obstacles in her life, including the loss of her grandmother and brother in the same year, Winter never gave up on her dreams. She credits her faith in God and her own resilience and determination for carrying her through the tough times.
The EP “Popstar” features five tracks, each showcasing Winter’s unique style and infectious energy. Winter’s creative process involves the use of a “mumble track” to lay down the melody and cadence before filling in the lyrics and adding harmonies and other elements. She encourages aspiring artists to create a sound that is uniquely theirs, rather than copying the styles of others.
Winter sees a future in the music industry that is increasingly open to independent artists, with more opportunities for creators of all genres and backgrounds to make their mark. Atlanta, often dubbed “Black Hollywood,” will continue to be a hub of creativity and innovation, with new and diverse voices emerging in the coming years. Check out Winter Rae’s EP Popstar now
If I was to get into it with some blogger, I would be considered a supreme cornball. The rap community would be joking on me. The same goes with most people that make their money from talking into a camera, mic or any other device such as a phone. However, Joe Budden and Cam’ron are two rappers or former rappers. They got into it over the weekend and seemed like they wanted to square up! Is that corny?
How did these OGs of the culture turn to fisticuffs as a solution to their disagreement. Well, it seems like Nore and Joe are smelling themselves a bit more since they are doing very well. And now we are seeing rappers doing all sorts of different things ranging from podcasts to cooking shows. The situation all started with Joe Budden talked to Nore and they started taking rappers that have tried to pivot. They clearly talked about Cam and others such as Trick Daddy. Cam ended up calling Joe a “crackhead.”
Cam said: “Damn @therealnoreaga told you I couldn’t trust you. Lolol. Im just f###### wit ya. But what other rapper from the 90’s got the sports and cooking show? U know u my n###a for life. But ya man hoe buddons threw u under the bus on the very Nx episode 🤦🏾♂️said he didn’t know who u was talking bout. I don’t give a f### how his numbers is N.O. Stay away from that crack head!!!!”
It all went downhill from there.
Joe said:
And then Cam clapped back, seemingly saying he wanted to fight with the “WYA?”
So the words is…they linked up and fought. I do not believe it.
Public Enemy frontman Chuck D has teamed up with Consequence for a new single and accompanying video called “What Has America Done.” The track will live on Consequence’s forthcoming album, Nice Doing Business With You. The A Tribe Called Quest affiliate (and Q-Tip’s cousin) made the announcement via Instagram last week.
Sharing a photo of himself with Chuck D, Cons wrote in the caption, “What Has America Done Featuring the Legendary @mrchuckd_pe Guest starring @tonywilliams + @we_ani VIDEO COMING SOON. QUEENS GET THE MONEY. Nice Doing Business With You. Via @192records.”
https://www.instagram.com/p/Crd1Ao7rYg5/
Speaking to AllHipHop, Consequence talked about what a huge honor it is to collaborate on a song with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee.
“It’s really a dream come true to work with Chuck D,” he says. “His artwork helped me navigate becoming a man throughout my teenage years and our record together is a continuation of the messaging that he’s consistently delivered.”
Chuck D, who currently serves as president of the Hip Hop Alliance alongside founder Kurtis Blow and KRS-One, recently announced a new app for Hip-Hop fans 35 and up called Bring The Noise. Initially, it will be available solely to people in his inner circle to try it out. Then, they can invite others before it’s officially available in the App Store.
“Bring The Noise is culture media not social media,” he told AHH last month. “People are invited from anywhere. We aren’t uninviting anyone under 35, but we have our small segment of what we think technology and the whole realm can do for the art form. We specialize in the culture—which is film, art and music, or ‘F.A.M.’
“And look, this isn’t Chuck D’s app. Nobody looks at Facebook and calls it Mark Zuckerberg’s app. Nobody looks at Twitter and calls it Elon Musk’s app. So why not us? We fully expect to be bombarded and attacked. We’ll have naysayers, it will crash—just like those others. We are evolutionary here, but we think the revolution in every aspect.”
As for Consequence, he’s been teasing Nice Doing Business With You for months. The first taste of the project arrived in the form of “Blood Stain 2,” the sequel to 2022’s original produced by Kanye West. “What Has America Done” is scheduled for release next week.
Kim Kardashian would be “just as happy” with her life if she ditched reality TV and became a full-time lawyer.
“The Kardashians” star, who has been studying to become an attorney for several years, revealed during the TIME100 Summit in New York on Tuesday that she would “absolutely” consider a life without the cameras.
“I would be just as happy being an attorney full-time,” she shared. “The journey just really opened up my eyes to so much. It gets overwhelming because there’s so much to be done… I brought my sister Khloé to a prison for the first time last week, and that was really eye-opening for her. I would totally spend more time doing that, cameras (or) no cameras.”
During the panel discussion, Kim told moderator Poppy Harlow that she hopes her contributions towards prison reform is “her life’s most meaningful work.”
“I hope so,” she continued. “I always joke with my mom (Kris Jenner) – who’s my manager – I say Kim K. is retiring, and I’m just going to be an attorney so you can go help my siblings.”
Kim explained that helping free Alice Marie Johnson, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for a non-violent drug offence, changed the trajectory of her life almost five years ago because she learned she was able to make a difference. However, she admitted she was naive at the time because she didn’t realise how hard “the fight” for criminal justice can be.
The 42-year-old passed the “baby bar,” California’s first-year law students exam, in December 2021 and she hopes to take the bar in February 2025.
Jack Harlow claimed he was the second best white rapper behind Eminem last week. The bold proclamation arrived via Harlow’s new single “They Don’t Love It” in which he raps, “The hardest white boy since the one who rapped about vomit and sweaters/And hold the comments ’cause I promise you I’m honestly better than whoever came to your head right then.”
Harlow’s line has sparked a giant debate on Twitter, with thousands of people weighing in on the Kentucky native’s lyrics. As a result, Eminem, Paul Wall and Mac Miller were trending topics on Sunday (April 30).
“Any discussion of best white rappers without Paul Wall is void,” one person said. Another added, “Jack Harlow hasn’t in his life dropped a song that slaps harder than Paul Wall’s Sittin’ Sidewayz. #CutThatShitOut.”
When penning that line, Harlow seemed to have forgotten about a handful of white rappers who blazed a trail for him to follow. Aside from Eminem, Beastie Boys, House of Pain, 3rd Bass, Aesop Rock and El-P (hell, even Vanilla Ice) knocked the doors down. Many would rank them higher than the “WHAT’S POPPIN” rapper.
Mac Miller, who also benefitted from his predecessors, was the subject of thousands of tweets. One wrote, “Jack Harlow can’t make Diablo but Mac Miller could make What’s Poppin.” Another pointed out, “The conversation about Jack Harlow, Eminem and Mac Miller is so goofy to me. Mac was a musical artist, not flatly a rapper. He’s not even in the same topic of conversation as Em and Jack Harlow.”
Of course, Eminem seemed to spark the most intense reactions. As Curtis Bashar wrote, “I respect ever n***a who will never listen to this album, salute to all of y’all. This is not Hip Hop! Eminem is the only great white rapper in this culture.”

“They Don’t Love It” comes from Jack Harlow’s surprise album, Jackman. The 10-song project featured Harlow shirtless standing in an alley with his arms folded on the cover. The photo itself elicited a cascade of comments online. According to HITS Daily Double, the album is expected to move between 45-50,000 total album equivalent units. Check out some of the reactions below.

I love Jack Harlow but if he really said that he's the hardest white rapper ever since Eminem then that's wrong….he's no way the best rapper honestly even Tom MacDonald is better rapper than Jack H.👀 n Jack is not even better rapper than MGK , i hate to admit this but i think pic.twitter.com/IdOSjWRMda

Rick Ross is a known car fanatic and started hosting an annual car show on his Georgia property last year. But evidently, the MMG founder’s neighbors are attempting to throw a wrench in his plans. According to WSB-TV, Ross has been allowed to hold a concert that’s expected to attract more than 6,000 fans to their community. Neighbors told Fayette County Board of Commissioners the event brought traffic to a standstill last year. So, members of the Northridge subdivision in Fayetteville signed petitions opposing the show.
“I have the petitions here that we signed,” one neighbor told the board during a meeting Tuesday (April 25), while another said, “Our quality of life was unnecessarily compromised.”

Another claimed Ross’ mansion isn’t zoned for the type of event he wants to hold. The gridlock the event caused was also a point of contention.
“We feel locked out,” a homeowner said. “It took me 40 minutes to get out of my subdivision.”
Ross wants to have the car and bike show on June 3 with Lil Wayne as the headliner. Neighbors say the roads can’t handle the 6,500 fans expected to attend the event.
Toni Braxton has revealed she underwent emergency heart surgery in September to treat a life-threatening lupus complication.
The “Un-Break My Heart” singer, who was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease in 2008, underwent a procedure after doctors discovered that one of her coronary arteries was 80 percent blocked following a series of routine blood and urine tests in September.
“I kept putting (the tests) off thinking, ‘Oh, I’m fine. I’ll be okay.’ But my doctor was persistent and I went to get tested in the last week of September. I did a specialized test and they looked at my heart and saw some abnormalities,” Braxton told People. “I found out that I needed a coronary stent. My left main coronary artery was 80% blocked. The doctors told me I could’ve had a massive heart attack, I would not have survived… It was a traumatic moment for me. I was in shock.”
The 55-year-old underwent emergency surgery two days later and had a stent inserted into the artery to keep it from narrowing or closing.
Reflecting on the health scare, the Grammy-winning singer told People that she will never put off doing her routine tests again.
“It was really a scary moment. Had I not gotten that test, my life would’ve been different,” Braxton acknowledged. “I look at it like it was a blessing in disguise for me because now, putting off tests? Oh no, I will not put off tests. If all I have to do for my lupus and my kidney health is pee in a cup, I can pee in a cup.”
Lupus is a disease that occurs when the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissues and organs.
Memphis rapper Lotta Cash Desto was fatally shot in Houston last September. According to Fox26 Houston, local police arrested a second suspect on Friday (April 21). Jeremyah Smith, 19, was identified as a suspect in March. Law enforcement officers successfully arrested Smith without incident in Alexandria, Louisiana. He was then extradited to Texas and booked into the Harris County Joint Processing Center. The other suspect, 24-year-old Christian Isaiah Williams, was arrested at the time of the shooting.
Rumors surrounding Lotta Cash Desto’s murder have been rampant after her father, Hernandez Govan, was indicted for the November 2021 murder of Young Dolph. Lotta Cash Desto was killed around 2:40 a.m. at 5500 Richmond Avenue on September 24, 2022. Some suggested her murder was in retaliation for the killing of Young Dolph.
Detectives located evidence at the scene linking Williams, who was shot in the stomach, to the shooting. Officers discovered Williams in the parking lot across the street from the shooting and transported him to the hospital. Cops found Lotta Cash Desto dead in the driver’s seat of her vehicle along with a second female victim suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to the hospital and treated.
After seeing that, Saweetie is dating YG, I bet the homie Quavo decided to glow up on his own. The rumor out there in the street is that Quavo is now dating Chloe Bailey. The specific rumor is that they were seen on a date in Atlanta. They reportedly met on the set of the Netflix movie “Praise This.” The rumors quietly started prior to this date, but they reportedly have now confirmed the relationship. They do seem extremely happy and cool. They have both been out doing joint press promoting the movie and also even giving out relationship advice. For all we know, they are just cool.
On the other side of the spectrum, is Chris Rock and Sharon Carpenter period these two are probably long-term friends. Sharon Carpenter is a journalist of tremendous status, but she has worked at BET, the BBC, and a bunch of other places as well. She’s a very well respected journalist that has managed to transition her brain through the years. So she’s an influencer as well now. the word is she’s dating one of the funniest people on earth in Chris. Clearly, everybody does not hate Chris ha ha ha! According to recent report, they were seen getting drinks at a fancy restaurant in Hollywood. The spies that have been giving the information said that they seemed very smitten and we’re laughing quite a lot.
Believe it or not, Sharon Carpenter was on a reality TV show called “The Gossip Game” with Chuck “Jigsaw” Creekmur of AllHipHop fame. That was an interesting show that didn’t go very far but it did show some of the inner workings of the media game.
By the way, Sharon is in her early 40s and Chris is in his late 50s. Does it matter?
Lastly, Polo G’s daughter, Leilani is reportedly dating some drug dealer. The joke is the drug dealer is really an actor from the show “Power.” That’s rightGianni Vincent Paolo plays Brayden Weston on “Power” and its spin-off show “Power Book II: Ghost.” There’s not a whole lot more to this, but this is what people are talking about. There is a video and people are basically saying they are chilling and hanging out. There’s not a whole lot of Intel on this as far as I can see. Anything is possible though. What I do know is that he better be on the up and up if he is dating Polo G’s sister.
This look like more than “hanging out.”
