The man accused of killing rapper Chris King has topped Nashville’s “Top 10 Most Wanted” list.

Adrien Cameron, 19, has been on the lam for almost a month after being accused of fatally shooting rapper Chris King on April 20 in an attempted robbery.

The incident occurred when Chris King, whose real name was Christopher Cheeks, was with friends, and three unidentified men confronted them, resulting in an exchange of gunfire.

Chris King died, and one of his friends survived despite being injured.

At the time of the shooting, Cameron was out on bond for another homicide case dating back to September 2021.

After the incident, he allegedly removed his ankle monitor, prompting an intensive manhunt by the Nashville Metro Police. Authorities are urging the public to provide any information on Cameron’s whereabouts.

Chris King’s death has deeply affected the music community.

Justin Bieber, a former roommate, along with Trippie Redd and Keke Palmer, expressed their sorrow over the loss.

CNN Films will cover the legacy of R&B icon Luther Vandross in an upcoming documentary. Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx served as a producer for Luther: Never Too Much.

Jamie Foxx’s Foxxhole Productions joined Raindog Films, Sony Music Entertainment, Sony Music Publishing and Trilogy Films to present the upcoming doc. The Oprah Winfrey-founded OWN network also backed the project.

Luther: Never Too Much premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival in January. The Dawn Porter-directed documentary will premiere in 2025 on CNN, OWN and the Max streaming platform.

“I’m thrilled to partner again with CNN Films and OWN to bring this film to audiences,” Dawn Porter said. Porter also comments, “Luther’s music is timeless, his legacy is unsurpassed, and we can’t wait for all of his fans new and old to experience his brilliance.”

Throughout his career, Luther Vandross released classic songs such as “Never Too Much” and “If This World Were Mine.” The New York City-born vocalist won eight Grammy Awards, including Song Of The Year for 2003’s “Dance With My Father.”

According to the Touring Data account on X, 50 Cent’s Final Lap Tour became the fourth Hip-Hop tour to hit nine figures in sales ($105M). Drake’s Aubrey & the Three Migos Tour ($103.1M) and It’s All A Blur Tour ($215.9M) reached that milestone too.

Lamar’s The Big Steppers Tour also crossed the $100 million mark ($110.9M). Other top-grossing Hip-Hop tours include Travis Scott’s Circus Maximus Tour ($82.4M), Drake & Future’s Summer Sixteen Tour ($81.0M) and Kanye West & Jay-Z’s Watch The Throne Tour ($78.8M).

50 Cent kicked off his Final Lap Tour on July 21, 2023, in West Valley City, Utah. The trek also visited additional North American cities like Toronto, Montreal, New York, Atlanta, Houston and Vancouver.

Gunna released his fifth studio LP, One of Wun, on May 10. At the time, most of the Hip-Hop world was still focused on the battle between Drake and Kendrick Lamar.

Kendrick Lamar’s chart-topping “Not Like Us” diss track arrived on May 4 and became an instant meme-generator. “Not Like Us” landed after several other songs from both artists took over social media for weeks.

TMZ spoke to Gunna about his One of Wun album. The outlet asked the Atlanta-raised rhymer if he considered pushing back the project as the Drake versus Kendric Lamar beef played out.

“I’m in my own… You know how that be. I don’t even really see other s### that’s going on,” Gunna told the cameraperson while inside Los Angeles International Airport. “It’s hard to see it.”

While the YSL recording artist claimed he did not see the back-and-forth between K. Dot and Drizzy, he did likely hear that his name was mentioned in one of the diss songs.

“We ain’t gotta get personal, this a friendly fade, you should keep it that way. I know some s### about n##### that make Gunna Wunna look like a saint,” Kendrick Lamar rapped on his “euphoria” diss record.

Fulton County, Georgia prosecutors indicted Gunna (born Sergio Kitchens) and his YSL boss, Young Thug (born Jeffery Williams), in a RICO case. Kitchens pled guilty to a racketeering charge which led to snitching allegations.

Gunna has denied working with the prosecution against Young Thug or any other defendants. In a recent interview, he talked about Thugger. Gunna said, “It’s love, always. Our relationship is our relationship.”

In a now-deleted tweet, Rod Wave posted over 75 broken heart emojis without explanation. Several other X users then began trolling the 24-year-old native of St. Petersburg, Florida.

“Why haven’t I had kids yet? Bro, because I don’t want to have kids yet,” Burna Boy replied before explaining that he wants his kids to have the same stable upbringing his parents gave him.  

“Have you seen my mum, the way she loves me?” he asked. “Have you seen my dad the way he loves me? I know I can’t give that to anyone right now with the life I live. You feel me?” 

Burna Boy continued, “So when I’m settled and I can be there for my children everyday, every single minute of every day, every second, I’m not having no kid. That’s just me and that’s a personal thing because I feel like my kids deserve better than I got. And I got both my mum and dad so you understand?” 

However, fans in the chat brought up rumors that Burna Boy hasn’t had kids yet due to fertility issues. He brushed off the speculation, denying the rumors but explained that infertility treatments are “normal.”

Brian McKnight is facing further backlash from his fans following a post from his estranged son Nikolas. 

Many fans turned their back on the singer after he disowned his eldest three children, Nikolas, Brian Jr. and daughter Briana whom he recently referred to as the “product of sin.” 

He received further criticism on Wednesday after Nikolas reacted to his father’s Mother’s Day post. McKnight gushed over his new wife and family and how she parents her adult children and the couple’s 1-year-old son, Brian Kainoa Makoa Jr. 

He also spoke at length about being a present father to their baby while thanking his wife for giving him so many first-time experiences as a parent. 

“Thank you for giving me my first experience of witnessing my child coming into this world,” he said. “Then hearing his beautiful cry and that incredible moment of cutting my first umbilical cord!” 

However, this came as news to Nikolas who heard it for the first time on social media. “Damn, I never knew he wasn’t there when I was born,” he wrote on Wednesday (May 15). “I always assumed he was? Crazy.” 

Disgruntled Brian McKnight fans littered the replies with many threatening to boycott the singer.

Lauryn Hill has gone more than 25 years without giving fans a follow-up to her debut album, but the wait may soon be over. 

Released in 1998, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is considered a Hip Hop masterpiece. The project propelled Hill to global superstardom, selling over 400,000 copies in its first week. It also earned her five Grammy Awards, including the coveted Album of the Year. 

Despite the anticipation for a follow-up, Lauryn Hill has never dropped another studio album. However, it looks like that’s set to change, and Hill’s mythical sophomore offering is finally on the horizon.  

TMZ caught up with the Fugees singer and her son, YG Marley, following their recent performance on The Tonight Show. When asked about the prospect of his mom dropping a second album, the 22-year-old singer initially hid his face behind his hands. He then remained silent for some time before indicating a second album was in the works.  

“Music is on the way,” YG revealed. “For real this time.” He then doubled down, confirming fans can get “excited” about the project before hinting at a possible guest appearance.

“That just goes to show you how angry I get,” he told his followers. “How mad I get when I see n##### hating on me. But that still ain’t no f###### excuse. I gotta be a good role model to my young n#####.” 

He also admitted he was wrong, adding, “We gotta learn from this s###, we gotta grow.” 

However, despite walking back his Metro Boomin shade, Soulja Boy isn’t making amends with 21 Savage or Meek Mill. Both rappers called him out over his disrespectful comments about Metro Boomin’s mother.  

“21 you still a b####, f### you talking bout,” Soulja exclaimed. “21 you still a b#### ass n####! I just ain’t like what I said about Metro s###. But f### you 21 this ain’t have nothing to do with you… I ain’t say sorry ‘cause of you.”  

After threatening to slap 21 Savage, Soulja Boy turned to Meek Mill. “Mind your muthafuckin business,” he warned before mocking Meek over the salacious Diddy rumors. “Why you on my muthafucking tweet?” 

His comments came just hours after revealing he plans to seek professional help following his latest social media tirade.  

“I apologize to @MetroBoomin for over reacting over an old tweet,” Soulja Boy wrote on Twitter (X). “Condolences to his mom. I’m going to seek therapy and anger management. I’m done responding to hate, new or old.” 

EXCLUSIVE: Kanye West Finalizing Settlement With Donna Summer Estate In “I Feel Love” Battle

Kanye West has settled with the Estate of Donna Summer over allegations of copyright infringement from the unauthorized use of the singer’s iconic hit “I Feel Love” on his album Vultures 1. 

The estate filed the lawsuit on February 27, alleging West incorporated the song into his work without obtaining necessary permission. According to the complaint, West either re-recorded the track, used an A.I.-generated rendition or directly sampled Summer’s vocals, violating copyright laws. 

Summer’s estate expressed dissatisfaction with the rapper’s actions, highlighting that their denial of permission was disregarded.

“Kanye West asked permission to use Donna Summer’s song ‘I Feel Love,’ he was denied… he changed the words, had someone re-sing it or used A.I., but it’s ‘I Feel Love’… copyright infringement,” a rep for the estate said.

Following the lawsuit, the two parties agreed to resolve the matter amicably. Sources revealed to AllHipHop that negotiations persisted throughout April and May, culminating in a global settlement on May 13.

All parties have agreed in principle, although the estate has faced challenges locating Ty Dolla $ign to serve him with legal documents. Despite the obstacle, both parties anticipate finalizing and executing the written settlement shortly.

The terms of this settlement, including any financial compensation or specific amends, haven’t been made public. 

Once all parties have signed the settlement agreement, the estate plans to proceed with filing a stipulation for dismissal of the action. Once executed, the settlement will end a legal dispute that has attracted significant public and media attention. 

Summer, also known as the “Queen of Disco,” left a legacy that her estate is committed to protecting, evidenced by their rigorous defense of the celebrated 1977 classic “I Feel Love.” 

Although representatives for both Kanye West and Donna Summer’s estate declined to comment further, the upcoming finalization of the settlement indicates an end to the legal strife that has consumed both parties over recent months.

Biden & Trump Set Debate Dates In Battle Bigger Than Drake Vs. Kendrick

The debate between President Joe Biden and former president Donald Trump will be more consequential—and possibly more interesting—than the latest rap beef between Drake and Kendrick Lamar.

Joe Biden and Donald Trump have agreed to take the stage for two presidential debates.

The debates are set for June and September, hosted by CNN and ABC News respectively, shifting away from the traditional Commission on Presidential Debates structure.

The striking agreement comes after initial reservations, as both candidates harbored doubts over each other’s adherence to debate regulations. Biden stipulated a debate free of a live audience to emphasize a focused and substantive discussion.

“I want a debate with no audience,” Biden said, advocating for an equitable “man-to-man” setup held through a television broadcast network rather than the standard commission.

Biden sees the debates as a pivotal opportunity to engage on pressing issues such as reproductive health, economic policies and energy strategies.

Trump, a figure who flourishes amidst the rah-rah ambiance of live spectators, initially pushed for a more dynamic debate atmosphere. Trump issued a statement ready to take on his bitter rival.

“I am Ready and Willing to Debate Crooked Joe at the two proposed times in June and September,” Trump posted on his Truth Social account.

The June 27 debate, distinctively hosted shortly after Biden’s participation at the G7 Summit and Trump’s New York criminal trial, umbrellas the urgency linked with early voting schedules.

In contrast, the September debate leans into the critical juncture of the fall election campaign.

Set in a television studio, the debates promise to enforce strict time limits with alternating speaking turns—a disciplined mechanism aimed at fostering constructive discourse.

Notably, Biden’s camp moved to prevent independent and third-party candidates from participating, eager to focus the dialog squarely on the key opposition.

Biden’s campaign has already combined rap’s cultural resonance with the heated political atmosphere by releasing a video overlayed with Kendrick Lamar’s diss track “euphoria,” which targets Trump.

The clip utilized unflattering depictions of Trump while lampooning him through modified lyrics originally aimed at Drake. Biden dissed the former POTUS’ political tenure with lines like “I hate the way that you walk over women’s rights” and “the way that you talk about immigrants.” It also disparaged Trump’s engagement with Truth Social: “I hate the way that you sneak diss on Truth Social.”

Soulja Boy Says He’s Seeking Therapy After Going Ballistic On Metro Boomin & 21 Savage

Soulja Boy apologized for his disrespectful comments about Metro Boomin’s late mother on Wednesday (May 15). The opinionated rapper said he plans to attend therapy and anger management days after his social media tirade against Metro and 21 Savage.

“I apologize to @MetroBoomin for over reacting over an old tweet,” Big Draco wrote on Twitter (X). “Condolences to his mom. I’m going to seek therapy and anger management. I’m done responding to hate, new or old.”

Days earlier, Soulja Boy was enraged by a Twitter post dating back to 2012. Metro snidely mentioned the “Crank That” creator in the 12-year-old post.

“My phone rings to come to the studio with Jeezy,” Metro wrote. “Yours rings to send Soulja Boy a pack of beats. Sit down.”

Soulja Boy discovered the post well over a decade later and demanded it be deleted. He threatened to slap Metro and the producer’s collaborator 21 Savage, who got involved in the beef on social media. Big Draco even proposed a celebrity boxing match.

The situation escalated when Soulja Boy started derisively talking about Metro’s mother, who was killed in 2022. The controversial hitmaker sent Metro a “Happy Mother’s Day” message and bizarrely claimed the producer sacrificed her in a series of distasteful remarks.

“Dig that n#### mama up and throw her back in that b####,” he wrote.

21 Savage defended Metro by issuing a stern warning.

“Speaking on a n#### mama like s### a game you gone s### on yourself when I see you boy,” 21 Savage wrote.

Soulja Boy showed no remorse at the time.

“F### u and his mama lil boy,” he wrote to 21 Savage. “Nah umma swing on u when I see you lame.”

Soulja Boy also trashed Meek Mill for weighing in on the war of words. The posts have since been deleted.

André 3000 Pours Cold Water On Hopes For Outkast Album

André 3000 sounded pessimistic about the prospects of a new Outkast album in a conversation with poet Hanif Abdurraqib. 3 Stacks mentioned how his relationship with Big Boi changed in an interview published by The Bitter Southerner.

“People ask, so will there be another Outkast album?” André 3000 said. “I really can’t say, man. I do realize that our chemistries have changed. We’re different people. We’re totally different people. Not to say that we won’t be able to make any kind of music, but I think, yeah, people have to realize, like even in relationships, man, husband and wife, chemistry should change after a while. And I think people think there’s this one thing that has to stay a way, but we are ever-changing, man.”

André 3000, who ditched rap for the flute on his first solo album New Blue Sun, made it clear he’s still friends with Big Boi. The legendary rapper noted his bond with Big Boi goes beyond music.

“You know, people always ask about me and Big Boi,” André 3000 said. “We cool, man. That’s my homie forever. We were friends before doing music.”

Big Boi had fans begging for an Outkast reunion when he shared a brief video of himself and André 3000 hanging out in March. Outkast hasn’t released an album since 2006’s Idlewild.

André 3000, Big Boi and their fellow Dungeon Family members suffered a major loss when Organized Noize’s Rico Wade passed away in April. Wade was one of the architects of the Dungeon Family’s sound. Organized Noize produced countless classics for Outkast, including every song on the duo’s debut album Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik.

Big Boi said without Wade “there would be no Outkast.” Organized Noize’s Sleepy Brown and Ray Murray called Wade the cornerstone of their production team and the entire Dungeon Family.

Serena Williams To Host 2024 ESPY Awards

The 2024 ESPYS will air live on Thursday, July 11 at 8 pm ET/PT on ABC. Professional tennis legend Serena Williams will serve as the host for the televised event.

“I couldn’t be more excited to host The ESPYS,” the 23-time Grand Slam champion exclaims. “This is a dream come true for me, and something I’ve wanted to do for as long as I can remember.”

Serena Williams also says, “It has been a sensational year for sports and an unprecedented one for female athletes… I can’t wait to celebrate everyone on stage in July.”

Additionally, ESPN+’s eight-part In the Arena: Serena Williams series will premiere on July 10. Williams will provide firsthand accounts of her iconic career.

The Evolution Of PROF: How Rhymesayers Split Was Best Thing For His Career

Gampo has grown up. The alter ego of rapper/singer PROF, Gampo was described early on as the Minneapolis native’s “comedic, dirty-mouthed” rap persona. And it kind of became his signature.

In 2011, the Twin Cities Daily Planet called his fourth studio album, King Gampo, “an asinine, narcissistic self-indulgence run completely riot, without a shred of redeeming artistry.” While that was undeniably harsh, PROF will be the first to admit his ego did run wild for awhile. 

“I thought I was the best undiscovered talent in America back when I was s##### and awful,” he says with a laugh. “I’ll hear that music and I’ll be like, ‘Oh this is horrible,’ but I guess that’s the confidence and delusion you need to do something like this.”

The talented artist, who has always used his off-color sense of humor and iron-clad confidence to craft often hilarious and thought-provoking bars, has grown since then. It’s evident on his 2023 single “HORSE” and its accompanying video, which begins with PROF being admitted into a fictional place called “Selfless Pastures: Ego Rehab.” 

“I’ve evolved,” he says with certainty. “I’ve been having these thoughts for a long time and just haven’t really put it on wax. I’m a grown ass man. When I said I wanted to be fame and money, I honestly can say I don’t want fame anymore. I would prefer not to have it.” 

He also has the patience of a saint. An interview plagued by schedule conflicts, technical difficulties, numerous stop-starts and the potential for a somewhat confrontational conversation didn’t deter him from knocking it out. After all, there were some important questions to ask, questions that weren’t exactly comfortable to ask or (presumably) even answer.

In 2020, PROF was almost a victim of cancel culture—almost. Caught up in a scandal that cost him his contract with Rhymesayers Entertainment—home to artists like Atmosphere, Dilated Peoples and Aesop Rock—PROF was forced to pivot. And he’s happy he did. 

“It was the best thing that’s ever happened in my career,” he says. “Five months later I was on the Billboard chart.” 

Curiously, PROF was never really at the center of it—it was a DJ he worked with between 2009 and 2016, who’d been accused of sexual misconduct. But it ballooned into something much more after internet sleuths dug up some old tweets from PROF that appeared to “prove” he was character with questionable morals. 

“There never was an allegation or anything to begin with, but lies spread around the world before the truth has time to put on their tennis shoes,” he explains. “There was just tweets of saying I was running around raping people. It got so bad, and then people are sifting through stuff online and it was just impossible to get ahead of.” 

PROF apologized for the series of “disgusting” tweets he put out in 2012, some Valentine’s Day cards from 2014 and a song released in 2017 that uses language and imagery he dubbed “embarrassing and ignorant.” 

“A lot of what really canceled me was tweets from 10 years prior to that,” he says. “So like 15, 20 years ago when I was watching a comedy special—and this is when no one really knew what Twitter was—I’m tweeting all these jokes. They weren’t even my jokes.”

But the damage was seemingly done. Rhymesayers released a statement explaining their decision, saying, “The reports of abuse that have come to light this past week are not things that we’ve ever tacitly condoned or were previously aware of. We have taken the last few days to process these reports because we felt it was important to allow survivors the opportunity to speak and for us to listen, discuss and reflect before adding our voice to the discussion.”

Rhymesayers immediately ended its relationship with PROF and his label, Stophouse Music Group, and shelved the Powderhorn Suites album. 

“We failed to not only vet the signing of Prof but also calling into question the intentions behind his music, messaging and content more strongly,” the statement continued. “We, like many others, separated the music from potential behavior. Thus, we were complicit in promoting and marketing music that perpetuates misogyny.”

The statement arrived in the wee hours of the morning during what had been one of the most challenging periods of PROF’s life. 

“My neighborhood had burned down,” he remembers. “We were going through a lot. My house was right next to the precinct that got pulled into all that George Floyd s### in 2020. I lived right there, so my backyard filled with ash. I had to leave my house in the middle of the night because we thought it was going to start on fire. So all these protests I’m involved with people everywhere and there was a Blackhawk helicopter above my house for four months straight and it ain’t no normal helicopter—it shakes everything. 

“Meanwhile, I’m doing work, thinking about what it is to be a white man, born and raised in Minneapolis. What are my Black friends doing? How are they, have I made any mistakes in my life? I’m analyzing my race, accountability for who I am as a white man and where I was born and I’m just going through a lot of s###, not sleeping. And then boom, just weeks later, I’m getting canceled. I had such a hard time getting press, but when I was getting canceled, that s### was all over.”

PROF says he was shocked by how it was handled by some of the people he considered friends, adding, “A lot of people jumped ship on me and just left my relationships and everything without calling me or saying, ‘What’s going on?’ Everyone was so scared of what was happening. The wave was so ferocious and so violent. It was crazy.” 

In hindsight, PROF admits he wishes he would’ve handled the situation differently. As he explains, “I was trying to like take accountability and that was one time I can look back and be like, ‘Damn I took too much accountability.’ I should have stood up for myself a little bit more rather than try to do what’s right because it swung so far. No one had time to just sit down and think.

“No one was calling anybody. I was calling Rhymesayers for three or four days straight and they went totally dark on us. So I’m thinking, “Oh, they’re going to try and make me the poster boy of this s###.” I saw something coming. I didn’t think it would be how it was like in the middle of the night, but they tweeted it out at two in the morning.” 

Ironically, the same album Rhymesayers declined to put out, Powerhorn Suites, became PROF’s most successful, peaking at No. 8 on the Billboard chart. It showed him he didn’t need the help of a label and, instead, could focus on building his own empire.

Currently on an expansive headlining tour, PROF just sold out The Vogue in Indianapolis on Saturday (May 11) and continues to pack venues across the United States. He’ll perform alongside Yelawolf on July 12 at The Mission Ballroom in Denver, which is already sold out. He also recently dropped a new single called “Feed The Dogs,” his first since “HORSE.” 

While it may have taken a lot of reflection to get to where he is now, there was a moment during the chaos of 2020 when he realized all he had to do was unplug. 

“I just went up north,” he says. “I went to a beautiful place and went off grid. I realized it was all on my phone. If I would have just dropped my phone, I wouldn’t even know that s###. Is it really that real? I was famous at that time in Minneapolis and no one was coming over up to me and spitting in my face. No one would ever f###### do that s###, so it was just delete your apps and f###### live your life, man.”

Travis Scott Learns Trial Start Date For Last Astroworld Tragedy Wrongful Death Lawsuit

A Texas judge scheduled a start date for the trial in the only remaining wrongful death lawsuit against Travis Scott. According to the Associated Press, Judge Kristen Hawkins said jury selection will begin on September 10 at a court hearing on Tuesday (May 14).

The family of Ezra Blount, a 9-year-old boy killed in the Astroworld tragedy, was among the 10 plaintiffs who sued Scott and others over the deaths of their loved ones. Nine of the lawsuits were settled out of court.

Blount was the youngest victim who died in the crowd crush at the 2021 Astroworld Festival. Blount’s family wanted the trial to start sooner, but Judge Hawkins told them logistics wouldn’t allow the proceedings to begin until September.

Lawyers representing Blount’s family sought to depose Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino before the trial. Live Nation, one of the defendants in the lawsuit, hoped to prevent Rapino from facing questioning. Live Nation’s attorney Neal Manne said he might appeal the deposition to the Texas Supreme Court if no agreement is reached.

The Blount family’s lawsuit will be the first Astroworld case to make it to trial barring a settlement. Roughly 2,400 injury lawsuits are still pending. The first trial regarding Astroworld-related injuries was scheduled for October 15. Seven of the injury cases will be handled at the trial.

Last year, a grand jury declined to indict Scott on criminal charges for his role in the Astroworld tragedy. Scott filed a motion for dismissal from the Astroworld lawsuits in March. His lawyers argued he wasn’t responsible for the crowd’s safety.

Judge Hawkins rejected Scott’s motion. The judge also refused to dismiss Live Nation and Apple Music as defendants.

Drake successfully convinced the judge to remove him from the Astroworld litigation in April. The Canadian star appeared at the deadly event held at Houston’s NRG Park in 2021.
