LL COOL J is standing on business when it comes to fighting against ageism in Hip-Hop, aiming to redefine the genre’s boundaries.

With his latest album, The FORCE, his first in ten years, the rapper is determined to demonstrate that seasoned artists can be just as relevant in today’s music scene.

In collaboration with Hip-Hop stalwart Q-Tip, LL COOL J said he believes he has hit the mark with this project.

“When I told people, ‘Yo, I wanna do a culturally relevant album’ in the middle of all these younger artists, people looked at me like I had nine heads,” LL COOL J told Billboard. “They looked at me like I was a hydra – a hydra! – looking at me crazy like that, not because they had any ill will, but just ‘How can you do that?'”

Comparing his achievement to breaking the four-minute mile, LL COOL J explained how defying expectations can pave the way for others.

“Nobody thought it could be broken until Roger Bannister did it, and then a lot of people started breaking it,” he said, explaining his ambition to challenge the status quo within Hip-Hop.

With “The FORCE,” LL COOL J aims to inspire others to believe that longevity in Hip-Hop is attainable. “Now you’ll see, when “The FORCE” has success, you’ll see people believing that they can make it happen, and it’s gonna extend the life of Hip-Hop in general,” he explained.

He believes that his endeavors, such as the Rock the Bells festival, are crucial for demonstrating the cultural relevance of veteran artists.

“But if somebody doesn’t do it, if I don’t do Rock the Bells and festivals and show that guys without records in the marketplace still can be relevant, and if I don’t tell you that a guy who’s been out for a long time can make a new record and be relevant – if nobody does it, it never happens,” LL COOL J stated.

Donald Trump was playing a round of golf at Trump National Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida on Sunday (September 15), when gunshots rang out.

According to Trump Campaign Communications Director Steven Cheung, the divisive political figure was unharmed.

“Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity,” Cheung said in a statement. “No further details at this time.”

The incident took place just hours after Trump wrote “I Hate Taylor Swift” on his Truth Social platform, which provided ample opportunity to crack a joke about an angry Swiftie being behind it. As one person joked on Twitter, “Trump getting shot at after his Taylor Swift post.. Oh they’re sliding for Mrs. Swift.”

Another said, “Donald Trump declared today in Truth Social: I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT! Then 3 hours later gunshots were heard fired near his location in Florida. Swifties be rollin’ up,” while yet another wrote, “Trump’s WAR on Taylor Swift. A couple hours later, Gunshots at the Golf Course Trump was on, and that muvafkr got taken to the bunker. Don’t mess with Swifties. These GRRLs are the Rambos of Social Media.”

Another suggested Swift herself was behind it, writing, “Taylor Swift just tried to shoot Donald Trump in Palm Beach.”

If the gunshots were intended for Trump, this would mark the second time this year he’s been a target. In July, Trump was reportedly shot in the ear during a presidential rally in Pennsylvania as part of an assassination attempt.

According to MSNBC, Trump was escorted off the stage by Secret Service agents and into his motorcade just minutes into his rally in Butler after a series of gunshots. Trump’s ear appeared to be bleeding heavily as he was rushed away. At the time of the incident, Trump fell to the ground as he was giving a speech. He was quickly surrounded by agents and stayed down for around a minute.

He then jumped to his feet and pumped his fist in the air and shouted “fight” before being driven away from the scene. The crowd was immediately cleared out of the seated area of the rally, and the police put up caution tape over a section of the left side of the bleachers as they try to determine what happened. Rallygoers said they saw the military chase out someone on the lefthand side of the bleachers. A medical helicopter arrived and headed south, likely to the medical center in Pittsburgh.

The person behind the shooting, Matthew Crooks, was killed on-site.

Damon Dash received some good news after a wild month on social media, which saw him in a “CEO War” with 50 Cent and being forced to explain how his “grills” popped out of his mouth during a live broadcast on Instagram.

The music mogul and co-founder of Roc-A-Fella Records secured another legal victory this week in court.

A federal judge denied a bid for a new trial brought by Monique Bunn, a photographer who accused Dash of sexual assault and later sued him over the alleged conversion of her property.

Bunn had sought a new trial after a jury ruled against her in her $51 million claim that Dash sexually assaulted her and retained over 100,000 photographs stored on CDs, computers, and hard drives.

Damon Dash testified during the trial that the CDs in question did not contain any of Bunn’s work.

Damon Dash was cleared of sexual assault charges in a federal court but was found liable for libel violations, resulting in a $30,000 award to Bunn for defamation.

Her lawyer, Christopher Brown, who has sued Damon Dash numerous times on behalf of other clients and even himself, tried to fight the ruling by claiming that the jury erred by failing to award damages for the conversion of her property.

Monique Bunn claimed that the photographs were worth millions, though the jury determined insufficient evidence to support her valuation of the CDs and other materials.

In her motion for a new trial, Bunn alleged that the jury’s verdict was contrary to the weight of the evidence, but U.S. District Judge Dolly M. Gee ruled that Bunn had failed to provide sufficient grounds to overturn the decision.

The court noted that Bunn’s legal team did not demonstrate that the trial was unfair or that the verdict resulted in a miscarriage of justice.

This ruling marks the latest legal win for Damon Dash, who has consistently denied the allegations made by Bunn.

Damon Dash is not out of the cross-hairs of Christopher Brown just yet.

Earlier this year, the mogul was ordered to sell his stake in Roc-A-Fella Records to satisfy an $800,000 copyright infringement and defamation judgment owed to filmmaker Josh Weber in a dispute over the movie “Dear Frank.”

Damon is seeking at least $10 million for his 33 percent stake in the storied label, which owns the rights to Jay-Z’s classic album Reasonable Doubt.

The proceeds from the sale will go towards the judgment, child support and an $8 million tax bill to the State of New York.

This blunder happened when Trump introduced the reggaeton artist to the crowd at his campaign rally at the Expo at World Market Center in Las Vegas on Friday (September 13).

Trump seemed genuinely shocked when Nicky Jam approached the podium with a full beard in his red MAGA hat. “Oh, look!” Trump exclaimed while shaking Nicky Jam’s manly hands.

Once on stage, Nicky Jam blew off being misgendered by Donald Trump and expressed his admiration for the 45th President of the United States.

“It’s an honor to meet you, Mr. President. People that come from where I come from, they don’t meet the President. So, I’m really lucky,” Nicky Jam gushed.

Back in 2020, during a campaign rally in Michigan, Trump famously mispronounced rapper Lil Pump’s name, introducing him as “Lil Pimp.”

As he invited Lil Pump on stage, Trump stated, “Speaking of sound, music, and other things — one of the big superstars of the world — Lil Pimp!”

Donald Trump had a few choice words to get off his chest Sunday morning (September 15). Taking to his Truth Social platform, he wrote simply: “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,” making his feelings about the pop star perfectly clear.

The message arrives just four days after Trump faced Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential debate, which many political pundits believe she won.

Shortly after it concluded, Taylor Swift officially endorsed Harris, encouraging her 284 million followers to vote for her in November. She referred to herself as the “childless cat lady” and included a photo of herself holding a cat.

“Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight,” she wrote. “f you haven’t already, now is a great time to do your research on the issues at hand and the stances these candidates take on the topics that matter to you the most. As a voter, I make sure to watch and read everything I can about their proposed policies and plans for this country.

Recently I was made aware that AI of ‘me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential run was posted to his site. It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation. Trump’s running mate, J.D Vance, later went on FOX News and said, “We admire Taylor Swift’s music, but I don’t think most Americans, whether they like her music or are fans of her or not, are going to be influenced by a billionaire celebrity.” He added, “I don’t think most Americans are going to be influenced by a billionaire celebrity who is fundamentally disconnected from the interests and problems of most Americans”

Vance might want to do his research. In the wake of Swift’s endorsement of Harris, more than 400,000 people headed to VOTE.com to register.

Swift also shared a crucial reminder, especially for first-time voters: “Remember that in order to vote, you have to be registered! I also find it’s much easier to vote early. I’ll link where to register and find early voting dates and info in my story.” She included a link to Vote.gov, a website run by two federal agencies — the General Services Administration and Election Assistance Commission —that helps people register and verify their registration status.

In the three hours after Swift shared the link, between 9 p.m. and midnight ET on Tuesday (September 10), there was a 585 percent spike in voters using the site’s registration and verification tools (compared to the same time frame over the previous eight days). Over the next 24 hours, about 406,000 people clicked on Swift’s link, accounting for more than half of the approximately 727,000 people who visited Vote.gov.

The 40-year-old announced the halt on Monday through social media, saying, “Hey everyone. Unfortunately, I have to postpone the rest of the North American tour to focus on my physical health for a few weeks.”

Donald Glover reassured fans they would eventually get their money’s worth if they are patient.

According to a report from The New York Post, Torres, who detained the Miami Dolphins wide receiver in an alleged excessive force incident, has been suspended six times throughout his career. While Hill admitted that he “could have been better” during the encounter, the NFL star maintains that Torres escalated the situation without cause. Hill claims the officer ignored his repeated statements that he had a medical procedure on his knee and continued to apply pressure. The Dolphins’ receiver was cited for driving 60 mph in a 40 mph zone.

“I thought he was fine,” she said. “First of all, me following him was very, I was like, he took the bait. I thought, I always thought he was very attractive. Eminem released the deluxe version of The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) on Friday (September 13). Titled The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce): Expanded Mourner’s Edition, the project comes with four extra tracks—but one’s a 24-second skit with Interscope Vice Chairman Steve Berman and another is a remix of “Fuel” from the original album. The last two are “Like My S###” and “Kyrie & Luka” featuring 2 Chainz.

Those who were anxiously awaiting the alternate version of the chart-topping effort were sorely disappointed, especially by the lack of Alchemist beats. When announcing the Expanded Mourner’s Edition, Eminem released a teaser on his Instagram page that saw Alchemist playing a convenience store worker. Stans immediately rejoiced, thinking they’d get a few Alchemist collaborations. Needless to say, they were disappointed when the lauded Hip-Hop producer didn’t appear on a single song.

“Eminem either likes to troll us or hates Alchemist, cause no way he puts him everywhere and doesn’t rap over his production,” one person tweeted, while another said, “Yo @Eminem if your goofy ass did a whole damn trailer with The Alchemist just for one remix of a song bro you can keep the damn deluxe edition don’t want that s###.”

Pharrell Williams confirmed he’s no longer in contact with his former Neptunes partner Chad Hugo following Hugo’s lawsuit over The Neptunes trademark.

Earlier this year, Hugo took legal action against Williams, claiming that his attempt to register The Neptunes trademark for three separate purposes without Hugo’s consent violated their agreement.

The conflict came to light during Williams’ interview with The Hollywood Reporter, where he openly addressed their strained relationship.

When asked if he remained on speaking terms with his childhood friend, Williams responded, “No. But I love him, and I always wish him the absolute best, and I’m very grateful for our time together.”

Despite the falling out, Pharrell Williams confirmed Hugo contributed his voice for the character in Williams’ upcoming animated biopic, “Piece by Piece.”

Chad Hugo’s lawsuit accused Pharrell Williams of breaching their long-held agreement to equally share ownership of The Neptunes trademarks.

Filed in court, the complaint asserted Williams “knowingly and intentionally” sought control over the trademarks without involving Hugo or recognizing him as co-owner.

In response to the allegations, Williams issued a statement saying, “We have reached out on multiple occasions to share in the ownership and administration of the trademark and will continue to make that offer. The goal here was to make sure a third party doesn’t get a hold of the trademark and to guarantee Chad and Pharrell share in ownership and administration.”

Contradicting this, Hugo’s lawyer, Kenneth D. Freundlich, argued, “If Pharrell’s intent was to include Chad in the filing, he should have registered it in the name of them jointly or as a partnership and not in his own name. This was a land grab in a long simmering dispute that has yet to be resolved.”

Elon Musk Reacts To Taylor Swift

Trump supporter Elon Musk took to his social media platform X (Twitter) with his reaction. “Fine, Taylor, you win,” he tweeted. “I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life.”

However, social media users widely condemned the post as sexist and misogynistic. Musk’s daughter slammed her father’s “heinous incel nonsense,” branding the post “abhorrent.”

Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” video shoot caused big-time disruptions for Compton business owners who reported substantial financial losses due to unannounced filming activities that drew large crowds, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Chaos replaced the usual calm in the parking lots of Compton on June 22 when the video shoot created tangible disruptions for local businesses.

The filming of “Not Like Us” attracted fans and disrupted business operations, leaving owners scrambling and frustrated.

Business owners reported losses, complaining they were forced to close or operate with minimal foot traffic amid the commotion stirred by the Hip-Hop star’s project.

Local business proprietors, such as those running Alma’s Place, a legendary soul food restaurant, experienced losses between $1,800 to $2,200 while the streets were occupied by filming crews and crowds.

“I’m just running everything and making no money. I literally was there for nothing, because the little money that I did make, I had to pay my staff with that,” proprietor Corina Pleasant told the LA Times.

During a city council meeting, criticism was directed at officials for failing to provide advance notice on the issued film permit, which was authorized just one day prior on June 21, covering several locations in the neighborhood.

A statement from the city acknowledged the oversight, recognizing that coordination must be improved to avoid similar incidents in the future.

The lack of communication has led to demands for compensation from Lamar, his production company pgLang, or municipal authorities.

Despite the evident financial strain on local entrepreneurs, representatives for Kendrick Lamar and pgLang have remained silent, not responding to requests for comments from affected parties or the press.

G Herbo has denied that he’s influencing his young son to follow in his footsteps as a “crash-out” rapper, despite his son’s bold rap ambitions.

In a recent podcast appearance, the “PTSD” rapper addressed concerns after his son, Yosohn, coined the rap name “Baby Crash” and started dabbling in music production. According to the Chicago rapper, Yosohn, who he shares with ex-partner Ari Fletcher, found his own way into music before Herbo could say otherwise. Despite his son’s early interest in music, Herbo isn’t pushing him to pick up a mic just yet.

“He just made his first beat at Mickey crib and s##t,” G Herbo said. “I ain’t saying he going to get into music, but I know I influence him.”

Herbo then revealed that Yosohn had even coined his own rap name, which he seems completely fine with, even if it’s worrisome to others.

“He called himself Baby Crash and made a beat,” he said. “That explains who he is already,” Herbo said with a grin.

While he admits he might have some influence, Herbo quickly laughed off the claims that he is responsible for inspiring Yosohn’s rambunctious rap name. In fact, he was insists it’s a combination of his son’s reckless streak, and in his bloodline all together. To prove his stance was true, he pointed fingers at Yosohn’s mother, who has made a name for herself for literally crashing out on social media.

“He naturally a crash out,” he said. “That s##t ain’t got nothing to do with me at all. You got to give a token to both parents. His mama crash out too, bro. Don’t act like she ain’t a crash out her damn self.”

While it is true that Yosohn’s mother’s fiery persona could definitely be part of the problem, it’s not like he is known for his graphic lyrics and storytelling bars which vivid depict the street life. Tracks like “Kill Sht”*, “Gangbangin“, and “Never Cared” have become fan favorites, detailing the harsh realities of the Chicago streets, sparking debates on whether his music glorifies violence.

As for Baby Crash’s future in rap? Only time will tell if he’ll follow in his father’s footsteps—or crash out entirely.

“But the Lord will nullify each & every single attempt & not only will it return to sender, it will be replaced with the best of you,” she added. “You are human. They are not & never will be perfect.” 

She continued, “It will be their demise. The Lord has warned them time & time & time again. Their stone cold hearts believe they are above reproach but this time they’ll regret it.” 

In his candid video, Lil Wayne revealed being passed over for the Super Bowl “broke me.” While he accepted responsibility for not mentally preparing for a “letdown,” he admitted “it hurt a whole lot.”
