Mickey Factz Drops Hot New Song “Never Rest”

Mickey Factz seems to know what is at stake. The Bronx native has bobbed and weaved through an industry that tends to knock out more talents than it creates. Factz looks like he is mounting a comeback even though he never left. He returns with a short, mental song called “Never Rest,” which sounds like a grind-a-holic’s anthem. When you listen, the vibe is different. The song is and eccentric, sexy take on relationships that owns both the pretty and the petty equally. Factz is often know exclusively for his bars, but “Never Rest” puts his versitility on full display. Tap in.

Normani Reveals “Raw” New Single ‘Fair’ In Itty Bitty Bikini!

Normani is pressure. Even before, releasing her debut album, the acclaimed entertainer has topped the charts. So, now she reveals a “raw” new single, “Fair.” Of course, the accompanying itty bitty bikini is demanding as much attention as her alluring vocals.

To begin with, the former Fifth Harmony member has always been a stand out. Just last year, the Cardi B-assisted “Wild Side” shot up the charts. In fact, it earned distinction as  “No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart,” this according to Billboard.

Needless to say, the captivating chanteuse hopes to build upon her success. In order to do so, “Fair” must organically resonate with the public. To emphasize her artistic growth the Pop princess shares her “vulnerability.” Moreover, she says as much.

@normani

my next baby is out march 18th 🖤 presave Fair (link in biooooooo)

♬ Fair by Normani – Normani

For instance, from this single, fans can expect both “vulnerability” and “raw Normani,” reports Vibe. The evolving artist goes on to offer that her talent demonstrates, “a different layer that you’ve never see before.” Particularly, Normani expounds upon her perspective.

“I’m just really excited because this captures a point in my life that was really honest. For me, it’s big and it’s growth, the fact that I’m able to share with everybody else,” she gushes. With this in mind, the beautiful visuals for “Fair” are nearly as captivating as her haunting vocal ability.

Joey Bada$$ On XXXTentacion: He Reminds Me Of Capital Steez

The Hip Hop world lost New York rapper Courtney “Capital Steez” Dewar Jr. in 2012. Six years later, the Hip Hop world lost Florida rapper Jahseh “XXXTentacion” Onfroy.

Brooklyn emcee Joey Bada$$ spent many years working with his Pro Era comrade Capital Steez. Bada$$ also had the opportunity to collaborate with XXXTentacion on “Infinity (888)” off 2018’s ? album.

During a recent interview with Montreality, Joey Bada$$ spoke about both late rhymers. The star of the Oscar-winning Two Distant Strangers short film reflected on the similarities between XXXTentacion and Capital Steez.

“X was special, he reminded me a lot of Steez. I remember going to Miami and working with him at his crib. Super humble, super competitive too. I haven’t felt that competitive nature with another artist since Steez,” said Joey Bada$$. “We just started surfing on YouTube for beats, we found the beat for Infinity, and we literally just made that s### right then and there.”

The 27-year-old entertainer added, “The imprint that [XXXTentacion] left in that short amount of time is going to influence the next generation. My generation was able to influence his, and he was able to influence the next one. He was a special artist because he had so much range, to me, that’s what makes an artist special, like Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, X. I miss his heart, I miss his spirit, that was my dawg, R.I.P. to X. I know him and Steez is like kicking it, that makes me happy.”

Joey Bada$$ is working on his third official album. A recent Instagram Live session included Bada$$ telling his followers to be on the lookout for a new full-length project by the end of 2022. He previously dropped 2015’s B4.Da.$$ and 2017’s All-Amerikkkan Badass. Many rap fans discovered Joey following the release of the classic 1999 mixtape in 2012.

Kanye West Addresses Backlash Over Violence Illustrated In “Eazy” Music Video

Once again, Kanye “Ye” West had a lot of people upset. His new music video for “Eazy” with West Coast emcee The Game sparked outrage in some circles.

The visuals feature an animated Kanye West assaulting, kidnapping, decapitating, and burying a fictionalized version of Pete Davidson. The Saturday Night Live star is currently dating West’s estranged wife Kim Kardashian.

Critics have slammed Ye for his antagonizing conduct towards Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson. For example, political commentator Marc Lamont Hill stated, “This is unhealthy behavior, this is dangerous behavior, this is violent behavior.”

Kanye West has now responded to the specific backlash over his “Eazy” video. The 44-year-old billionaire took to Instagram to offer a statement about concerns he is promoting violence.

Ye wrote:

Art is therapy just like this view

art is protected as freedom of speech

art inspires and simplifies the world

Art is not a proxy for any ill or harm.

Any suggestion otherwise about my art is false and mal intended 🖤

@kanyewest Instagram

Kim Kardashian apparently expressed worry that someone could attack Pete Davidson because of Kanye West’s constant aggressive posts directed at the 28-year-old comedian. In response, Ye told his followers not to “do anything physical” to the man he disparagingly refers to as “Skete.”

In addition, Kanye West took credit for Pete Davidson shutting down his newly set up Instagram account. While some people believed West’s cyberbullying caused Davidson to leave the platform, a rep for The King of Staten Island actor denied Ye’s actions led to Davidson’s exit from IG.

DaBaby Talks Making Personal Adjustments Following Rolling Loud Controversy

In summer 2021, DaBaby was riding high as one of the most commercially successful Hip Hop artists on the planet.

As a feature on Dua Lipa’s “Levitating” single, DaBaby lived in the Hot 100’s Top 10 region for most of the year. Megan Thee Stallion and DaBaby’s “Cry Baby” also made it into the Top 40 that February.

However, things took a downward turn for DaBaby at Rolling Loud Miami on July 25. Other festivals pulled the North Carolina native from their lineups after he made offensive comments about HIV/AIDS and the LGBTQ community on the Rolling Loud stage.

DaBaby stopped by SiriusXM’s The Heat to promote his Better Than You collaborative project with YoungBoy Never Broke Again. The interview included DaBaby reflecting on his personal growth since the Rolling Loud Miami controversy.

“I grow every day, but, above all, I’m just more knowledgeable about the tolerance of the business I’m in got for certain things. It’s a learning process,” DaBaby told SiriusXM’s Mina Say What. “We go from doing this and that. And then, well, I’m speaking for myself, go from doing this to being an artist, 24/7 full time.”

The Blame It on Baby rapper continued, “Not only that, I was an artist at the highest level. Like I made it to the highest level of this s###. So it’s like you get there, there are adjustments that you gotta make, just like becoming a grown-ass man in life.”

Recently, DaBaby found his name in more negative headlines. Footage of the 30-year-old rhymer and his crew fighting DaniLeigh’s brother, Brandon Curiel, in a bowling alley made its way to the internet. DaBaby and DaniLeigh have a child together.

Snoop Dogg currently serves as a creative consultant for Def Jam Recordings. That gig included the D-O-Double-G curating the Snoop Dogg Presents: Algorithm compilation. He also helped sign Benny The Butcher to Def Jam.

DJ Whoo Kid’s connection to Benny The Butcher played a role in the Black Soprano Family member joining the legendary record label. In an exclusive interview with Tidal, Snoop Dogg talked about his part in securing Benny’s signing.

“I’m like, ‘What’s up with you and Def Jam?’ [Benny is] like, ‘Oh man, they lowballed me.’ I said, ‘Lowballed you? They don’t know who you is?'” recalled Snoop. “He’s looking at me like, ‘Damn, you know who I am?’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, I know exactly who you is and what you worth. I’m over at Def Jam now. Who was you talking to?'”

Snoop Dogg continued, “[Benny] told me who he was talking to. [I said,] ‘We’re not going to talk to them. I’m going to call the boss. You’re going to tell the boss what you want, and he’s going to give you what you want and you’re going to sign.'”

Snoop Dogg Now Owns Death Row Records, The Label That Launched His Recording Career

In addition to being a consultant for Def Jam, Snoop Dogg is also now the head of Death Row Records. The Doggystyle album creator expressed interest in running the company in November 2021 before officially becoming Death Row’s owner in February 2022.

“To be in control of the brand means that I got all of the pieces that I need to do what I got to do, from the masters to the publishing, to the IP, to the label, to the logo, to everything. It’s all mine,” Snoop told Tidal’s Chief Content Officer, Elliott Wilson.

Snoop added, “2Pac’s masters came back to him last year. But I got a great relationship with his estate, and I’m pretty sure we’re going to be able to work something out… to continue some Death Row 2Pac business now that Snoop Dogg is in control of Death Row. Same with Dr. Dre and The Chronic. I got The Chronic album. I got Doggystyle, Tha Doggfather, Murder Was the Case, Dogg Food, Above the Rim. I got all those records.”

Questlove Wins Best Documentary At Independent Spirit Awards For “Summer Of Soul”

Questlove won Best Documentary at the 2022 Independent Spirit Awards on Sunday night (Mar. 6) for Summer of Soul (…Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised).

Questlove’s directorial debut highlights the little-known 1969 Harlem Cultural Festival also known as Black Woodstock. The film includes found footage featuring performances by Nina Simone, Stevie Wonder, B.B King, and many more legendary musicians from the era.

Giving a heartfelt acceptance speech, Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson said, “I’m not gonna cry right now.” He turned to Joseph Patel Bay Area writer and Summer of Soul producer who wrote The Roots’ first-ever cover story for the now-defunct hip-hop magazine Rap Pages in 1996. “Look at us man,” he declared. “We’re living the dream, restoring history, bringing Black joy to the world.”

Questlove Accepts The Award For Best Documentary

Working on the film through a time of global crisis helped Questlove connect to the artistic process of the performers back in 1969.

“Being smack dab in the middle of 2020, panicking about the pandemic, the world being shut down, George Floyd happened, Breonna Taylor happened, the city’s on fire, there’s shootings [of the] unarmed, there’s this weekly toll of death, death, death,” he explained to The L.A. Times. “And then when you look at where we were as a country in 1969, with the heavy amount of death we were dealing with, the assassinations, the Kennedy brothers, Malcolm, Martin — I really connected with this tall task of being creative in a time of stress, working on a film about creatives who got together in a time of stress. Nina Simone’s segment felt very 2020. She’s not doing show tunes and jazz anymore. This is a politically charged, angrier, fiery Nina Simone. Once we made that switch, it felt like a whole new movie.”

Questlove is also in the running for a Grammy, BAFTA, and the Academy Award for Documentary Feature for Summer of Soul.

Mr. Esq Set to Release Debut Album Under Predominant Studios Inc.

Predominant Studios Inc. is thrilled to announce the release of ESQUIRE. The global music group record label recently signed Mr. Esq, and the artist has completed his first album under the label. ESQUIRE by Mr. Esq is a compilation of songs that are directly a revelation of Mr. Esq’s personality. The majority of the songs in the album are laced with so much emotion as Mr. Esq tries to fully express himself with each track on the album.

Ahead of the album’s release, Mr. Esq had this to say, “This album is a re-introduction of myself on a global scale. As most of my music is, this album harbors a lot of emotion. I pour my heart and soul into my music, and by listening to this album, it will pretty much answer any questions anyone has about me.”

Mr. Esq has blossomed into a fine artist since entering the Canadian entertainment scene. Based in Victoria, British Columbia, Mr. Esq started music when he was 12, writing down his thoughts in a poetic style. He started to flow with a cadence and began putting his writing to beats. During house parties, his peers would request him to freestyle which helped him to discover his love for performances and sharing his writing with others. Sadly, he began to veer off the path of music when he began working in his teens and didn’t come back to it until he was incarcerated.”

Born as the youngest male of six siblings with three older brothers and sisters, Mr. Esq naturally gravitated to his brothers, which opened him up to the realities of life. Sooner than expected, Mr. Esq got into drug distribution and became a driver for illegal activities before he was old enough to own his driver’s license. At age 18, Mr. Esq was expecting a son and decided to track back from the violent lifestyle he had adopted. Unfortunately, his son died, and the event induced a dark chapter on Mr. Esq. He began to drink heavily, and not long after, Mr. Esq had to face fourteen years in the Federal penitentiary. The prosecution eventually got a conviction, and he ended up with a combined sentence of ten years.

At the Federal penitentiary, Mr. Esq began to make self-discoveries, which changed his life. Today, Mr. Esq has a daughter, a business, and a budding musical career. “I want people to listen to my stories, learn from my experiences and not make the same mistakes I did. I hope they internalize my stories and use them for their growth. My ultimate goal is to help guide those in their youth down a better path and give them the knowledge and education to ensure they don’t make the same mistakes I did.”

ESQUIRE by Mr. Esq will be released in the next couple of weeks, and fans should expect an exceptional rendition of the life and experiences of Mr. Esq.

NLE Choppa And Girlfriend Talk Trauma Of Miscarriage

NLE Choppa and girlfriend Marissa Da’Nae revealed that they suffered a tragedy on Saturday (March 5) after their unborn child died in a miscarriage.

Marissa revealed in a lengthy video that their son, Seven, died and took time to let others know they were not alone.

Marissa posted:

“Bryson and I have made this video for you guys to know more about our pregnancy journey and the battles we have been facing with baby Seven. We share our story to open up and to also let others know they aren’t alone. Ladies I love to hear your pregnancy journey as well and the struggles you went through. Many Blessings, Love, Positive Things to you all 💜”

Marissa and NLE reportedly realized their son was well underweight at six months. A mere two ounces, Seven was diagnosed with fetal growth restriction.

On Instagram, she praised her rapper boyfriend for helping her get through the trauma.

“Talking bout this is so hard. But with Bryson next to me and being my supporter, this has helped me more. Losing our Son is so hard for me, I couldn’t function. But he has pulled me through and I’m thankful to have you by my side and with me along this journey.”

The news was met with an overwhelming amount of positive feedback and support on social media.

Tasha K Fights Cardi B’s Attempt To Silence Her

Tasha K’s bitter war with Cardi B is still bubbling, despite the vlogger being handed a $4 million loss after their recent court battle.

In January, Cardi defeated Tasha K in a defamation of character lawsuit after a jury sided with the Bronx, New York rapper, who claimed the “UnwinewithTashaK” host’s constant attacks were nothing but lies.

Tasha made many shady allegations about Cardi. She claimed the rapper was a prostitute with herpes and HPV – allegations proven to be falsehoods.

Tasha K also claimed Cardi B took a beer bottle from a customer when she was a stripper, inserted it inside herself, and then took a swig before giving the brew back to the man.

Even though Tasha K lost $4 million, Cardi believes the attacks will continue unless a court orders the YouTube personality to stop.

Last week, Cardi went back to court to ask a judge for injunctive relief to silence Tasha K and to have various social media posts and YouTube videos removed.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xT6r8_-Oq5U

“Defendants made it clear that they would not stop publishing the defamatory statements about plaintiff absent an order from this court. If defendants carry through with these promises to keep harassing plaintiff absent an injunction, plaintiff will be required to file repeated (if not perpetual) subsequent litigation to address the threatened future defamation,” Cardi B’s lawyer Andrew Pequignot wrote to the court.

Incredibly, despite losing a fortune, Tasha K is fighting Cardi B’s attempt at injunctive relief.

According to Tasha K, Cardi B cannot prove that she plans to defame her in the future. She is asking the court to decline the permanent injunction barring her from speaking about the rapper.

“Even though the jury returned, a verdict in Cardi’s favor, that, by itself, is not sufficient to secure a permanent injunction,” Tasha K’s lawyer Olga Izmaylova argued. “Plaintiff must prove that she is suffering, and will continue to suffer, irreparable harm, which entitles her, as a legal right, to injective relief,” Izmaylova said.

A judge will decide on the matter of April 1st, 2022.

Drake Gets Trashed By UFC Star Colby Covington After Rapper Loses $275,000 BET

Drake’s decision to bet a fortune on the UFC 272’s main event has cost him dearly.

The Toronto rapper took to Instagram to showcase himself betting on the fight between roommates turned foes Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal.

Drake put up $275,000 in Bitcoin, betting that Masvidal would beat Covington. Had he been correct, Drake would have pulled in $1 million.

Unfortunately, the infamous “Drake Curse” struck again, and Masvidal was beaten up in a one-sided fight that Covington won by a unanimous decision.

As a result, he lost his $275,000. Furthermore, the “Certified Lover Boy” was utterly trashed by Covington after the fight.

During a press conference following UFC 272, Covington said Drizzy should stick to rapping since he sucks at sports betting.

“Let’s talk about all that money Drake lost tonight. He needs to go back to selling those s##### albums to get back the money,” Covington snapped.

“I’m America’s champ, and I was America’s pic of the week. Drake, you suck at sports betting. Go back to your s##### little albums and rapping,” Convington added.

The rap star probably is not stressing the loss. According to Forbes, the Canadian rapper earned $50 million in 2021.

Drake seemed to scoff at the earnings report, implying he may have earned much more last year.

And he probably is not simply just boasting. In fact, according to reports, Drake plunked down $50 million to purchase the former home of pop star Robbie Williams.

Recently, Snoop Dogg said in an interview that he owns The Chronic, Dr. Dre’s debut album (which included numerous guests). Snoop’s aquisition of Death Row Records included the seminal album. He also said he bought Doggystyle, Tha Doggfather, Murder Was the Case, Dogg Food and others like the Above The Rim soundtrack.

“There are false reports out regarding ownership by Death Row of Dr. Dre’s The Chronic,” Howard King told Complex in a statement. “Dr. Dre owns 100 percent of The Chronic.”

I wonder…I wonder…which is correct. I have to say, lawyers tend to set the record totally straight.

Also, I am curious about who owns Death Row? I heard Harry O has some ownership too, as he was the original person to bankroll the lable until Suge and David Kenner took it when the kingpin went to jail.

No matter what, this is all good.
