It is still not clear what the future holds for Kanye “Ye” West’s Donda Academy.
Following Ye’s controversial comments about George Floyd and the Jewish community, Donda Academy announced the cancelation of the remainder of the academic year. Then hours later, the Christian private school backtracked on those plans.
The fallout from Kanye West’s antisemitic takes continues to affect Donda Academy and its students. This week, Morehouse College announced it will no longer host a November 6 basketball tournament featuring Donda Academy against The Skills Factory.
“Throughout its history, Morehouse College, perhaps more than any other institution, has stood for social discourse which advances equity and healing, particularly in areas involving race, culture, and socio-economic disparities,” reads a statement from the Atlanta institution. “We therefore cannot condone, in perception or implication, the recent divisive and unproductive statements by Ye, formerly known as Kanye West.”
Kanye “Ye” West Offers Apologies Then Walks Them Back
The 45-year-old Chicago native faced substantial backlash after tweeting that he would go “death con 3” on Jewish people. West then took part in several interviews where he doubled down on his controversial rhetoric.
Before catching heat from the Jewish community for his comments, Kanye West angered many members of the Black community. His decision to promote a “White Lives Matter” t-shirt came off to some people as a rebuke of the Black Lives Matter movement for social justice.
Plus, the Donda album creator falsely suggested unarmed African-American George Floyd died of a drug overdose in 2020. A jury convicted former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin of second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter in the Floyd case.
Kanye West did offer an apology to the Floyd family before once again waging an internet war of words against the mother of George Floyd’s daughter. According to reports, Roxie Washington is in the process of suing West for $250 million. West also apologized to the Jewish community, but he then repeated his antisemitic conspiracy theories.
After collecting another Instagram suspension, Kanye West used Parler to address his tirade against the mother of George Floyd’s daughter.
Ye, reportedly soon-to-be owner of the right-wing social media app, responded to Stephen Jackson after the former NBA player and Floyd family friend called him out over his recent remarks concerning Roxie Washington.
“My name is Ye,” he began before addressing Stephen Jackson directly. Ye claimed he “gave 2 million to the family” but says, “then Roxie threatened to sue me because I gave a different perspective.”
According to Kanye, despite his temporary Instagram ban, he’s actually been holding back. “I been going light actually,” he claimed before stating he received the 30-day suspension “for my truth.”
Ye concluded by saying, “I’m a digital prisoner right now,” but warned he will continue until Jackson stops. “If you keep talking ima keep talking,” he said. “If you shut the f### up I’ll leave it alone,” Kanye wrote. Read the post below.
The warning comes after Steven Jackson blasted Kanye West for his rant against Roxie Washington and George Floyd’s family. He said Washington was “either being controlled” or “being greedy” in filing a $250 million lawsuit against him. He also claimed he did more than anyone for George Floyd’s family.
“Kanye delusional,” he said. “You didn’t give Gianna $2 million. She got $250,000 that they broken down through the families that Roxanne is giving back to you.”
After seeing Kanye West’s Parler response, Stephen Jackson returned with another message to the DONDA rapper. He dismissed the arguments that people should focus on the message rather than the messenger. “At the expense of demeaning my family and my people, nah,” Jackson said before adding, “he ain’t the messenger.” Check out the clip below.
Kanye West’s Donda Academy players have received a dose of moral support from a trio of NBA players amid news that several national tournaments dropped the team due to Ye’s recent antisemitic and Anti-Black statements.
Last week, Boston Celtics All-Star Jaylen Brown cut ties with the rapper’s Donda Sports agency. Despite this, he believes the students should not have to suffer over the owner’s antics. On Friday, he took to Twitter as rumors swirled that the school would close for the remainder of the year.
“To any HS basketball coaches & event coordinators, These student athletes can’t be negatively impacted by this,” Brown wrote. “I will sponsor any event existing or new, willing to host Donda Academy / We all must ensure they complete their senior yr both academically & athletically. Contact me,” he said before adding later, “We do not cancel our kids.”
Jaylen Brown said Morehouse College dropping Donda Academy from its schedule was “an unfortunate retraction.” The college explained it “cannot condone” Kanye West’s “recent divisive and unproductive statements.”
Donda Academy was due to play Atlanta’s The Skill Factory at Morehouse on Nov. 6 but Brown said the team is “currently looking for another solution.”
An unfortunate retraction but the kids and family appreciate the consideration currently looking for another solution https://t.co/TVVJvqTVut
Brown was joined by his Celtics teammate Blake Griffin and Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving on Sunday to give the team a pep talk via Zoom call.
“[The NBA players] were just telling us that they were going to have our back, and they were going to help us through the process,” senior guard AJ Johnson said, as per LA Times.
According to Johnson, students are unsure whether to remain at the school and are aware they may suffer repercussions.
“At the end of the day, with the Donda Dove on our chest, we’re basically playing for Kanye,” Johnson said. “It’s his school. So having our names tied to him could lead to some things: NIL’s wouldn’t want to do any deals with us or people wouldn’t want to sign us, or anything like that.”
He explained: “We don’t know if it’s a good choice to just stay [at Donda],” or “find somewhere else where we can go.”
“I feel like it just doesn’t have anything to do with us. Like, we’re just going to play basketball. We don’t support the stuff that he’s saying,” Johnson said.
“Every morning before school, I listened to all Master P, 8Ball, MJG, but my favorite was Tupac,” Jeezy recalled. “It still is to this day because he stood for something. He had values, he had morals, he had integrity, but I had never seen that before. ‘Cause my uncles would steal $20 out ya socks.”
Jeezy explained he had to look to outside influences to guide him during his youth as those close to him could not. “I couldn’t get any information out of them,” he said. “So, how I learned how to survive and navigate through the streets—and I want to say that because, these guys that’s coming up, 90 percent of it, well, 10 percent of it is music, 90 percent of it surviving. It’s survival, and navigating what’s going on.”
Jeezy Calls Tupac’s Albums “My Bible”
For the young Yeezy, Tupac became essential listening. “I listened to Tupac as if that was my Bible. How to move, how to handle situations, and it was embedded in me. He was a revolutionary before I knew what that was. He actually had—he stood for something. And he would take those risks when everybody around me was so used to how they was livin’ that they didn’t want to try to live any better.”
“My Bible, at that time, no disrespect to the big homie [Biggie], was every Tupac album.”
The Snowman said Tupac became part of his routine, and he would listen to him every morning on his journey to school. However, that changed when Jeezy dropped out of school in the sixth grade to help support his family. “But, I did that knowing that Tupac did what he had to do,” he added.
DJ Wreckless is back and has finally released his single, “Aroma” featuring Fetty Wap and Blueface.
“Aroma” is an excellent continuation of DJ Wreckless’ fast-growing pool of records. Each track is a step closer to where he is trying to get. He is becoming a star and will keep heading toward it if he keeps producing at this level.

Cardi B is ready for more kids with her husband, Offset.
The “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker shared a trio of snaps of her and Offset’s 13-month-old son Wave via Twitter on Sunday and revealed that she can’t wait to give him and their four-year-old daughter Kulture another sibling.
“My son so fire (fire and heart emojis)….I can’t wait to get business finish and have my third (sic),” she wrote alongside photos of Wave wearing a jacket and jeans as he sits on bedding in a store.
The rapper has been working on the follow-up to her 2018 debut album Invasion of Privacy for more than a year but has yet to announce when it will be released.
And she clarified to a user that she won’t be thinking about expanding her brood until her sophomore album is out.
“Let’s drop the album first and we can talk about a third,” one user wrote, to which Cardi replied, “Ummmm I literally said business finish first !!”
Cardi and the Migos star welcomed their first child together, Kulture, in July 2018 and their second, Wave, in September 2021. Offset also has three more children from previous relationships.
The rap stars got married in September 2017, and on their fifth anniversary, Cardi made clear that she wants a lavish wedding ceremony. She tweeted, “5 years married …… it’s time for my wedding.”
Ye continues to suck up media attention, primarily for all the wrong reasons.
According to a video obtained by TMZ, the rap star caused the scene at his son Saint West’s soccer game on Saturday (October 29th).
In the video, Kanye West can be seen standing about 30 feet away from Kim Kardashian, who is surrounded by security.
He was involved in a dispute with another parent attending the game. Another woman approaches Ye, and shortly after the argument, he stormed off the soccer field in his signature black boots.
Thankfully for the kids and Ye’s family, he cooled it down and returned a few minutes later with no problems. Unfortunately, Kim and Kanye’s relationship appears to be more strained than ever.
According to TMZ, Kim did not talk with Kanye during the game.
The news of the incident with the parent at Saint’s soccer game comes on the heels of a controversial weekend for the rapper.
Ye posted a famous graphic picture of Emmett Till. He used the image to imply Ari Emanuel had digitally lynched him after writing an open letter calling for businesses to cut ties with the rapper.
When you hear this producer tag, you automatically know this song is about to be a smash hit. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, a place that molded him into the all-star creative he is today, real name Jacob Canady has proved himself to be one of the most highly-sought after producers in the game.
And that’s not just because Future gave him a shot when he was just 14 years old. ATL Jacob worked on six songs from Future’s seventh solo studio album, THE WIZRD, but nothing is more sentimental than the studio session for “Nowhere,” as seen on the Superfly soundtrack. In fact, fans are patiently waiting for the dynamic duo to release a whole project together — something that surprisingly, has yet to be done.
The two-time Grammy nominated producer and recording artist is also the genius behind Kodak Black’s “Super Gremlin,” Future’s “Wait For U,” and Kanye West’s “PABLO.”
AllHipHop spoke with ATL Jacob, who was posted in his new crib in Atlanta. Read below as we discuss how he got his start, Future starting him at $10K a beat, why “Nowhere” is his favorite track, wanting to make timeless music, working with Kanye West, how “Super Gremlins” with Kodak Black came to be, Kevin Gates calling him, and more!
AllHipHop: How’s Atlanta treating you?
ATL Jacob: I just stay out the way, keep it moving.
AllHipHop: First of all, congratulations on everything. You’ve been doing your thing for a minute.
ATL Jacob: Appreciate it man. You know, just slow-mo working. It’s a process.
AllHipHop: How long you been grinding?
ATL Jacob: Like nine years. But I’m 23 though, that’s what a lot of people don’t know. I’m only 23, I’ll be 24 this year.
AllHipHop: How do you feel this young, with so many plaques?
ATL Jacob: I need more. I think I have almost 30. That ain’t the exact number, but I know it’s up there.
AllHipHop: You got room in your crib to hang all them plaques?
ATL Jacob: Yeah, this a big house. One of them.
AllHipHop: Is there one that means the most to you?
ATL Jacob: I mean, Future my brother. So whatever I get with him, that always means the most. From him seeing me literally come from nothing nothing, to us going Platinum together and getting a #1 together, that means a lot.
AllHipHop: Do you have a favorite Future song you’ve done then?
ATL Jacob: Yeah, it’s called “Nowhere.” He performed it on Jimmy Kimmel. What’s crazy, we did that song when I was in high school, but it ended up coming out once I graduated. It’s from the Superfly soundtrack, that’s one of my favorites.
AllHipHop: How did you tap with Future in high school?
ATL Jacob: Casino linked us in. His brother linked us in.
AllHipHop: You remember the first beat you sold? How much was it for?
ATL Jacob: You know, Future started me out at $10K a beat. Even back then, no placements. I was getting $10K a beat, because he just knew. He knew what was going on… working.
AllHipHop: What made you want to produce?
ATL Jacob: I was rapping. I wanted to rap on my own beats. I’m like man, I don’t like the beats that I was rapping on. I said “I want to rap on my own beats.” Now we here.
ATL Jacob: Nah, I wasn’t even selling beats. I was just having fun, I won’t even think about the money from it. I’m like “man, I wanna get this s### heard. These beats so hard, I wanna get them heard.” Once we started dropping, it was just going.
AllHipHop: Someone said “Nowhere” is the best Future song.
ATL Jacob: Man, “Nowhere” is so slept-on. The song’s so beautiful. It’s crazy, I just remember the exact night we made it. I was making the beat and Future walked in on me like “that’s hard.” The beat wasn’t even done, that’s the crazy part. He said “man, load it up.” That’s why it’s so spacious and empty, because I had literally just started making the beat.
You know before, producers were still using loops at that time. To this day, I’m still not a big fan of loops. I’ll still use them if I have to, but I laid all that from scratch. I had just started making the beat, wasn’t even done and Future’s like “load it up.” I loaded the beat up instantly.
AllHipHop: I was bumping “WAIT FOR U,” I think it’s everyone’s favorite song.
ATL Jacob: I’ve been focused on timeless music. As in timeless, just new waves of music that nobody on, but still familiar to the ear.
AllHipHop: It was your idea to cut the Tems vocals, right?
ATL Jacob: Yeah, I put that in there. Man, just listening to the song all the time for real. I’m like “I gotta sample it,” and I did. I got so many songs, so many beats like that already ready.
AllHipHop: What’s another song that you interpolated?
ATL Jacob: I can’t say it, because then everybody else is gonna do it. Me and Moneybagg got a crazy song, but I ain’t going to say what it is. Because after I literally say the sample, everybody gon’ do it. But just know, the song is so crazy.
AllHipHop: Moneybagg is hard.
ATL Jacob: Yeah, that my boy.
AllHipHop: How long does it take for you to make a beat?
ATL Jacob: It’s not about just the beat these days. I can make a beat in 5 minutes, it’s just production in total. Sometimes producing a song can take a week. Sometimes it can take one night. Sometimes it could take an hour, depending on the vibe that you want for. But to me, a song’s never done so. It’s timeless. Like the music.
AllHipHop: I say that all the time: we need more timeless music. People be putting out whatever nowadays.
ATL Jacob: Yeah, it’s so much drill music and that type of music. Everybody gotta switch on the block man. Everybody shooting, everybody robbing. Rap about something new now. That’s why I appreciate certain artists. I appreciate Lil Baby. I appreciate Travis Scott. I appreciate Future. I appreciate Young Thug because they so versatile. Except for Travis Scott, they’re all from Atlanta. Even 21 Savage, his content’s so crazy. Even though he do talk about what he talks about, the way he puts it together is amazing.
AllHipHop: Have you done music with 21 Savage?
ATL Jacob: We got a couple of songs, nothing crazy. We got a couple, but not out.
AllHipHop: Someone said we need a Future x ATL Jacob album. Did that happen yet or no?
ATL Jacob: It didn’t happen yet, nah. Close enough on the last album though.
AllHipHop: “Super Gremlin” is one of my favorite Kodak songs. How did you guys tap in?
ATL Jacob: Man, that night was crazy. I was in Miami. I was just making beats all day at the studio for real. No, I had a couple of artists come through, then I called Kodak. A couple of nights before that, we were cooking up. Probably 8 hours went by, I’m getting ready to leave the studio. I left, two minutes down the street. They called me like “hey, I’m on the way.” [laughs] So I turned around, at this time it’s 5 or 6 in the morning. I turned around and went back to the room like nothing happened. Like I didn’t even leave.
AllHipHop: And then what happened?
ATL Jacob: We went through beats, and “Super Gremlin” came out. The sun was up, “Super Gremlin” came out.
AllHipHop: Were you tired?
ATL Jacob: Nah, you can never be tired. Maybe exhausted, but not tired.
AllHipHop: What’s the story behind Kevin Gates’ “Super General (Freestyle)”?
ATL Jacob: He actually called me. He called me and said, “man I just talked to Kodak, he said it’s cool if I do it. But you know, I had to call the producer.” He was on some “man, let me see if it’s cool with you to do it.” I’m like, n*gga everybody doing a remix! He’s like “man I know, but I had to call you personally and let you know I’m rapping on the beat.”
AllHipHop: That’s some real s###!
ATL Jacob: Yeah, I respect that man.
AllHipHop: Did you guys have a relationship before that?
ATL Jacob: Nah, but long live Mazi. I had a close relationship with Mazi before he died. Mazi always told me “man when Kevin Gates get out, I’m a link y’all in.” He ended up passing when Kevin was locked up, but I never had a close relationship with Kevin.
AllHipHop: What was your reaction when you heard his verses? Talking about Rubi Rose and Beyonce…
ATL Jacob: He just saying how he feels. That’s all he was doing, saying how he feels. You never personally know what they got going on, they gotta put it out. He’s just a man saying how he feels.
AllHipHop: How was it working with Kanye?
ATL Jacob: Man, just inspirational. I learned a lot, he made me look at music so differently. Just creating, the music I’ve been making lately… [whistles] I probably wouldn’t even have this mindset if I didn’t spend those couple of months with Kanye. He made me look at music differently, I just appreciate it more.
AllHipHop: Signing your artist deal and now rapping, do you feel like Kanye? Because he came from producing and he established himself as a rapper.
ATL Jacob: It’s crazy because how everybody was sleeping on him when he’s showing them the songs, that’s how I feel. You get overlooked as the producer. Because I recently put out a song, Big30 put out a song featuring me and I’m rapping. It’s called “Uh Huh,” it’s crazy.
I don’t know, I feel like some stuff gets shadowed because you didn’t produce them. It’s like you got something to prove to people now. I don’t really get caught up in it because as long as I’m doing what I love, that’s all that really matters.
AllHipHop: I hear you. Did you learn anything from Kanye?
ATL Jacob: We just had conversations and regular stuff. I wouldn’t say learned, but more was influenced.
AllHipHop: You must be one of the youngest people in those rooms.
ATL Jacob: I’m always the youngest. I’ve been like that since I was 18. I was 18 around Taylor Swift. [laughs] That was a long time ago, it was a Taylor Swift and Future session. They have a song called “End Game.” It was a minute ago.
AllHipHop: My homegirl is the biggest Taylor Swift fan, I swear.
ATL Jacob: Hey, her security was different. They were sniffing the doors, they were checking everything. I’m like damn, she got secret service. I ain’t seen nothing like it, I thought Obama was in there.
He is accused of turning the “Father of House Music’s” song into “Flowers,” one of the songs included on Donda 2.
Donda 2 was released via Ye’s proprietary streaming device, the STEM Player, for $200. After Donda 2 was released, Ye bragged that the STEM Player sold 11,000 units within 24 hours and generated over $2 million in one day.
The problem for Ye is that he allegedly sampled “Move Your Body” more than 20 times on “Flowers” without the proper licenses.
According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, he is at risk of being hit with a default judgment.
“Due to recent events and Ye’s counsel’s inability to reach Ye or his representatives, Ye’s counsel intends to seek withdrawal as counsel,” said UIMP’s lawyer Bradley J. Mullins.
Ye is being repped in the lawsuit by the firm Greenberg Traurig LLP, which signed on as the rapper’s lawyers in July of 2022.
There is a silver lining for the embattled superstar producer. Despite their inability to reach the rapper, his attorneys are engaged in informal talks for a possible resolution.
Mullins said if the initial talks are not successful, they may be able to settle the issue with the assistance of a mediator.
The news of Ye’s counsel planning to withdraw from representing him in the lawsuit would be the latest legal blow for the rap star, who has been embroiled in a controversy over comments he made about Jewish people and the death of George Floyd.
Over two weeks, Kanye West lost deals with GAP, Balenciaga, and Adidas and saw his net worth plummet by $2 billion.
Greenberg Traurig would be the 5th law firm to cut ties with Ye since he threatened to go “death con 3 on Jews” and lived up to his promise.
Ye has been dropped by Brown Rudnick, Pryor Cashman, Cadwalader, and Quinn Emanuel.
Ye needs legal representation. Last week, his former business manager sued him for $4.5 million over claims the rapper breached his contract by failing to pay his agreed-upon fee of $300,000 per month.
In light of the recent antisemitic comments spewed by Kanye West, more influencers are locking in and going against the producer’s derogatory stance on Jewish people.
Under the guise of free speech, people claim reverse discrimination against the federally protected group and want their rights to be protected.
But not everybody is jacking that.
Robert Kraft, the owner of the Patriots football team, ran an ad during Sunday’s game against the Jets that urged fans to “stand up to Jewish hate.”
Kraft sponsored a 30-second clip under The Foundation to Combat Antisemitism (FCAS) name saying in simple white letters against a black background, “Antisemitism is hate. Hate against Jews. For being Jewish. Recently many of you have spoken up. We hear you today.”
It continued, “We must hear you tomorrow. There are less than 8 million Jewish people in this country. Fewer than are watching this game. They need you to add your voice. #StandUptoJewishHate.”
The ad is the polar opposite of the message shared by Ye and many of his followers. However, it is in lockstep with companies like Adidas, Balenciaga, Vogue, and others that have stepped away from his commentary.
Former allies like Justine Bieber, Aaron Donald, and Jaylen Brown, who once were aligned with the artist’s vision, have moved away— severing their ties with him, according to TMZ.
The hate is real. According to the Anti-Defamation League, almost every day in October, an antisemitic act against a Jewish person has been committed and recorded.
Kim Kardashian mutated into X-Men’s Mystique for a Halloween party over the weekend.
The reality TV star took to Instagram to share several videos of her dressed up as the character, with her ensemble featuring a figure-hugging blue Latex bodysuit.
She accessorized with a dark red wig and yellow contact lenses. “MYSTIQUE – HALLOWEEN 2022,” she captioned a snap of the completed costume.
In response, several Kim’s celebrity friends praised her over-the-top look.
“The sickest,” wrote Olivia Pierson, while La La Anthony posted, “Another one for the books!! What a night.”

Though Kim didn’t share details of the Halloween party she attended, it appeared to be one hosted by Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, as she also posted footage of the hip-hop mogul as Heath Ledger’s “Joker” from the 2008 superhero movie “The Dark Knight.”
Meanwhile, Kim’s younger sister Kendall Jenner opted to dress up as a sexy version of the cowgirl doll Jessie from “Toy Story 2,” and Lizzo transformed into Marge Simpson of “The Simpsons” and donned a green dress, yellow body paint, and enormous blue wig.

Kanye West Stans have created a crowd-funding page to make him billionaire again! What in the hell type of time are they on? They are insane! But, let’s take a step back and take a look at this. First of all, the word on the street is that Kanye West is going broke fast. The rapper lost several streams of revenue and business ties from the likes of Gap and Adidas. Hell, even the Goodwill and TJ Maxxx is not down with Kanye!!! This is wild and seems to create a situation where his fans, I mean Stans, are trying to help him out.
For the record, a Broke Kanye is always better off than us. Now, let me continue.
I do not think people are into this one, this time. The main one – which I refused to link to – has made just $5 since starting. There are several other ones and they are not making a lot of money either. I went to the the local convenience store to get a hoagie and some chips. The chips alone were $5. I decided to keep my money and just get the damn food. The point is, people are feeling a pinch right now and don’t have money for a former billionaire.
In 2016, people did raise over $50,000 for Kanye because he was facing bankruptcy at the time. A few short years later, he is a billionaire. You see how stupid they look now? Did they get any of that money from the world’s most richest black man? NOPE!
Moving right along:
Update: The GoFundMe page is no longer available, apparently taken down by the platform.
Diddy shook up the internet when he decided to don an incredible Halloween suit portraying The Joker, the iconic enemy of The Batman. The Joker also tends to represent anarchy and criminal genius in New Joke city. It looks like Diddy was also testing his acting chops as he transversed the city with his crew (security). But, it seems like one person was not playing: Michael J. Ferguson aka 2-Bit from “Power.”
There’s only a portion of the situation online, but clearly something was said and when we join the convo. “He’s pu$$y…(looks at Diddy, who seems to be whispering something) You N!99A! Yeah him,” says Ferguson. Diddy starts going in an out of character after that saying “You’re a clown…You don’t like me?” and laughing maniacally. I know he was not playing because he eventually said, “What did I do to you…do you know who I am?” So, it seems like Diddy was bouncing between his real self and his character.
Ferguson gets my respect for one reason: it is not easy to stand in front of Diddy and say those things. Especially with a gang of dudes with him looking like The Joker’s goon squad.
Why did this happen? Nobody seems to know, but the dude that recorded this particular clip gave some insight. Take it away @frankvasquez_ :
“Diddy was just walking through the street I was following him and taking photos. Then he turned around and walked the other way and went up to him laughing and playing the Joker act and dude called him a pu$$y and that’s when I started recording.”
I wonder if this is somehow an offshoot of the beef 50 Cent has with Diddy? I don’t know.
Will Shad “Bow Wow” Moss step into an All Elite Wrestling ring? It appears the rapper/actor is interested in showing up on television for the burgeoning Florida-based wrestling promotion.
Former AEW World Tag Team champion and self-proclaimed Hip Hop mogul Swerve Strickland appeared on RJ City’s Hey! (EW) weekly talk show. The conversation included Strickland calling out Bow Wow.
“Since he’s been talking about doing some stuff on social media for like the last year, but I have yet to see any video footage or training, I want Bow Wow,” Swerve Strickland told RJ City.
Strickland continued, “I wanna see Shad Moss get in the ring since he’s been talking about that so much on social media… I know you got connections with training with Rikishi. That’s cool. Get your training in. I want you in AEW.”
Following Swerve Strickland’s challenge on Hey! (EW), Bow Wow took to Twitter to respond to the one-time NXT North American Champion. On Sunday afternoon, the Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta reality show cast member tweeted, “Where do I sign 💰.”
Strickland quote-tweeted Bow Wow’s response and tagged All Elite Wrestling’s President/CEO/General Manager Tony Khan. Bow also posted, “@TonyKhan after [The Millennium Tour] is over… sign me up! I want a roster spot.”
Two high-profile southern rappers presented new DJ Drama-hosted bodies of work on October 21. YoungBoy Never Broke Again dropped Ma’ I Got a Family, and Jeezy came back with Snofall.
Both NBA Youngboy and Jeezy managed to make it into the Top 10 region of the latest Billboard 200. While Pop star Taylor Swift’s Midnights debuted at #1 with 1.6 million units, the Hip Hop representatives held their own on the chart.
YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s Ma’ I Got a Family launched at #7 on the Billboard 200 with 37,000 first-week units. The mixtape pulled in 52 million on-demand official streams (36,500 units) during the tracking period.
Jeezy’s Snofall opened at #9 on the Billboard 200. The Gangsta Grillz effort amassed 31,000 first-week units. Of that total, 28,000 units came from the 38.45 million streams of the album’s songs.
YoungBoy Never Broke Again now has twelve Top 10 projects in his career. Four of the 23-year-old, Louisiana-bred rhymer’s releases made it to #1 on the Billboard 200. AI YoungBoy 2, 38 Baby 2, Top, and Sincerely, Kentrell each spent one week in the top spot.
Snofall became Jeezy’s eleventh Top 10 entry. The 45-year-old Georgia native’s discography currently contains the Billboard 200 top-charting albums Thug Motivation 102: The Inspiration, The Recession, and Trap or Die 3.
Elsewhere on this week’s Billboard 200, Lil Baby’s former #1 It’s Only Me slipped to #2. Bad Bunny’s Verano Sin Ti fell one position to #3. The Weeknd’s The Highlights remained at #5. Beyonce’s Renaissance closed out at #10.
South African-born billionaire Elon Musk may not be considered a Hip Hop figure. However, the new owner of Twitter has a lot of power over the platform regularly used by rappers, music executives, media figures, and fans.
Twitter could also see a substantial change on the actual platform. According to reports, the company could begin charging $19.99 per month for the Twitter Blue feature. It previously cost $4.99 per month.
The paid subscription service provided premium features for paying customers. It appears Elon Musk now wants the new monthly Twitter Blue cost to apply to anyone that has been verified.
Apparently, all verified Twitter accounts will have 90 days to subscribe to Twitter Blue. They could lose their “blue check” verification by opting out. The blue badge informs other users that a particular account isauthentic and notable.
Critics Express Concern Over Possible Twitter Blue Changes
Elon Musk is already receiving some pushback for the potential move to strip certain accounts of their blue check verification. Theoretical cosmologist Katie Mack is one of the critics expressing concern about a Twitter Blue modification.
“The point of Twitter verification is that for certain individuals/organizations it’s useful to be able to verify their statements are coming from them. (This is why so many journalists/reporters are verified.) It’s supposed to help combat disinformation, not be a status symbol,” tweeted Katie Mack on Sunday.
This morning, financial journalist Martin Lewis tweeted, “Having campaigned against PAID-FOR scam ads for years, I’m concerned at rumors Twitter will turn the verified #blueTick into a paid-for option. Scammers, shysters, criminals are likely to be happy to pay for, and manipulate this, for a veneer of legitimacy.”
Elon Musk joked about the reports of changes coming to Twitter Blue. He responded to Bitcoin developer Shibetoshi Nakamoto’s troll tweet about the story by posting, “Oh no, all our diabolical plans have been revealed!!”
Oh no, all our diabolical plans have been revealed!!
LeBron James even commented on the reported rise of hate speech on Twitter. The billionaire NBA superstar tweeted, “I don’t know Elon Musk and, [to be honest], I could care less who owns Twitter. But I will say that if this is true, I hope he and his people take this very seriously because this is scary [as f###]. So many damn unfit people saying hate speech is free speech.”
Meanwhile, Elon Musk seems to have his attention more on gauging the public interest in bringing back Vine than concern over verified accounts or n-word usage. Twitter acquired Vine, the short-form video hosting service, in October 2012 before shutting it down in 2017.
I dont know Elon Musk and, tbh, I could care less who owns twitter. But I will say that if this is true, I hope he and his people take this very seriously because this is scary AF. So many damn unfit people saying hate speech is free speech. https://t.co/Sy0jvXIBnC
It looks like Kanye “Ye” West is showing support for some prominent African-American men. The controversial rapper/designer used his Instagram account to shout out a basketball player, ESPN commentator, and athlete-turned-politician.
Yesterday (October 30), Kanye West uploaded a photo of Herschel Walker, the Republican Senate candidate in the state of Georgia, to his Instagram page. West wrote in the IG caption, “PRO LIFE.”
“It’s actually some real ones still alive that ain’t afraid no more I’m with you Time to build our own So the #redmedia can never control or diminish us again,” wrote Ye on Instagram last night about Stephen A. Smith.
Critics Claim Both Kanye West & Kyrie Irving Are Promoting Antisemitism
In addition, Kanye West jumped into the heated discussion about Brooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving. The 7-time NBA All-Star is in the middle of a media firestorm after tweeting about a movie titled Hebrews to Negroes: Wake Up Black America.
Critics claim the film promotes antisemitism and Kyrie Irving is publicizing anti-Jewish propaganda to his 4.6 million Twitter followers. Irving insisted the “antisemitic label” that is supposedly being “pushed” on him does not reflect his beliefs.
“There’s some real ones still here,” wrote Kanye West on Instagram. The 45-year-old father of four added that message to a post featuring a picture of Kyrie Irving. Both stars have been accused of inciting hatred towards Jewish people.
Kanye “Ye” West continues to make headlines as many of his business and personal relationships crumbled in front of the entire world. New York City rapper Fivio Foreign is not ready to give up on Ye yet.
Then, Ye decided to take a scorched-Earth approach by declaring he would “go death con 3 ON JEWISH PEOPLE.” Numerous corporations, such as Adidas, eventually cut ties with the Chicago native for his antisemitic comments.
Fivio Foreign worked with Kanye West on the “City of Gods” single which also featured R&B singer Alicia Keys. That 2022 collaboration lives on Fivio’s debut studio album B.I.B.L.E. as well as West’s eleventh studio album Donda 2.
Hollywood Unlocked caught up with Fivio Foreign at the Powerhouse NYC concert in New Jersey. The media outlet asked the 32-year-old rapper if he still supports Kanye West despite all the controversy surrounding him.
“Of course, he supported me when nobody supported me,” said Fivio Foreign about Ye. “I was always getting support, but he supported me. He just got some things he gotta figure out… But that’s still my friend.”
The Hollywood Unlocked interviewer also asked Fivio Foreign for his take on the idea of “cancel culture.” The Brooklyn Drill rapper responded, “I don’t believe in it. It depends on who’s canceling you.”
Kanye West alleged he escaped being drugged by a “Jewish doctor” who previously “misdiagnosed” him with a mental health disorder, suggesting the medic could be motivated to cause him to overdose in the wake of his antisemitic comments.
The DONDA rapper, who previously stated he has bipolar disorder calling it a “superpower,” made the allegations while speaking to paparazzi on Friday.
Ye claimed he was previously suffering from “exhaustion which was misdiagnosed.” He then makes a show of saying he’s not going to say what “race” or “people,” the doctor belongs to. “We know I can’t say that,” before immediately following up with, “It was a Jewish doctor.”
He alleged the physician “misdiagnosed” him with a “disorder” and advised him to take medication.
“At a time like this, if I was on medication right now, then one pill could’ve been swapped out, and it would be Michael Jackson and Prince all over again,” Kanye West stated.
“But because I didn’t take the misdiagnosis, and I didn’t take the medication, I’m able to speak to you guys clear of thought and transparently,” he added.
Both artists Kanye referenced died from an overdose, with Michael Jackson’s death ruled a homicide at the hand of his doctor. While Prince died from an accidental overdose of fentanyl, some outlandish conspiracy theories exist.
Elsewhere during his conversation with the paparazzi, Ye doubled down on his rhetoric that the media and Hollywood are controlled by Jewish people.
Kanye West Compares Himself To George Floyd
Kanye West has also addressed the backlash to his claims about George Floyd. He said Floyd was not murdered by police officer Derek Chauvin but died of a fentanyl overdose. However, he likened himself to the police brutality victim while apologizing for his remarks.
“It hurt the Black people,” Kanye West said. “So I want to apologize for hurting them because right now God has shown me by what Adidas is doing, and by what the media is doing, I know how it feels to have a knee on my neck now.”
