Amber Rose Turns Rapper In Explicit New Song “GYHO/Gotcha” Produced By Mannie Fresh

Amber Rose got her start in the industry after appearing in the video for Young Jeezy and Kanye West’s single “Put On” in 2008, before beginning a relationship with the Chicago rapper later that year.

Now, the model has returned to her music video roots with “GYHO/Gotcha.” However, this time, Amber Rose is not a video vixen but the star of the show as she makes her official debut as a rapper.

The song interpolates New Orleans Duo Big Tymers’ “Get Ya Roll On” and is produced by group member DJ Mannie Fresh. He also features in the visuals and provides some adlibs on the song. The S### Walk creator gets freaky in the lyrics rapping sexually explicit lyrics with a message of female empowerment. Watch the video below.

Amber Rose – GYHO / GOTCHA

Amber Rose first released music a decade ago, dropping the single “Fame,” in 2012. It featured then-boyfriend Wiz Khalifa, who she would marry the following year. She also rapped a couple of bars on “Rise Above” from his O.N.I.F.C. album in 2012.

Meanwhile, last month Amber Rose joined Playboy’s new venture, Centerfold. The creator-led platform was launched last year by the brand’s first Creative Director In Residence Cardi B.

Grxwn Fxlks- ‘Volume I: Independent’

The process of creating and releasing music in 2022 has a microwavable feel that is evidenced by new stars disappearing just as quickly as they rose. This is in large part to the role social media plays in society.

On their debut album, Pittsburgh-based emcee/producer super-duo Grxwn Fxlks (Masai Turner & Akil Esoon), have made it their mission to make music that creates a lasting bond with Hip Hop’s most disenfranchised demographic – adults.

Setting up shop in New York, Los Angeles, and Atlanta to collaborate with the greats and utilize world-renowned facilities, the duo conceptualized a project that is far cry from the all too repetitive subject matter found in the culture’s mainstream. The result is their crowning achievement titled ‘Volume I: Independent.’

‘Volume I: Independent’ is a confluence of positive vibes, social awareness, cultural pride, and street wisdom.

The magnificent turntable wizardry of 2-time Grammy Award-Winner DJ Jazzy Jeff is featured on the eponymous track “Grxwn Fxlks”.

The uber soulful, 3-time Grammy Award-nominee Raheem DeVaughn assists with one of the album’s standouts “Magic” — a love letter to the magical qualities every good woman should be appreciated for.

Veteran Bronx emcee, activist, and author Mysonne trades rhymes about the ills of street life with Masai on “Let’s Talk About It” over a healthy dose of boom-bap provided by Akil Esoon.

Rhymesayers Entertainment’s singer/songwriter Nikki Jean contributes her charming cameo stylings on the closing track “One”.

As if the well-placed peppering of features wasn’t enough, Grxwn Fxlks collaborated with an A-List of legendary engineers to evolve their sound. Grammy Award-Winners Neal Pogue (Tyler the Creator, Outkast), Derek “MixedbyAli” Ali (Kendrick Lamar, Mac Miller), Mike Bozzi (J Cole, Nas), Elton “L10MixedIt” Cheung (Chance The Rapper, Kehlani) and several notable others are credited throughout this project’s liner notes.

A debut, independent album with the heavy hitters above is a testament to the group’s relationship-based approach to everything they do.

Grxwn Fxlks’ first single “Celebrate” has reached over 1 million streams since its release. The majority of those streams came from the 33–54-year old demographic – another anomaly for a Hip Hop outfit releasing their first song.

Thousands of comments, shares, and purchases later, Grxwn Fxlks has their proof of concept. Released via The Orchard – subsidiary of Sony Music, ‘Volume I: Independent’ is shaping up to be a disrupter in the world of Hip Hop that can resonate with an audience that has been yearning for a distinct sound and message.

Ray J Blasts Bobby V, Pleasure P, & Sammie For Taking Over His Verzuz Performance

Ray J had a mini-meltdown onstage during the Verzuz showdown between Omarion and Mario on Thursday night (Jun. 23).

The “I Hit It First” singer was a special guest for the night, on a team with Bobby V. The pair were taking on fellow R&B stars Pleasure P & Sammie ahead of the main event.

There was a little tension in the air as Ray J took to the stage to perform one of his biggest hits, “One Wish.” Before he began, Ray J warned his opponents not to step on his toes. “If you singing on my s### fam, it’s gon’ be a problem,” he told the others. “I will never sing when you sing, I’m a soloist,” replied Sammie before telling him how much he loves the song.

Nonetheless, Ray J began singing, although it appears he didn’t warm his voice up beforehand, clearly having trouble with some of the high notes. He even brought out his baby during the song, holding him in his arms as he crooned. “My wife don’t want no randoms watching the kids,” he explained.

However, after struggling with the song his frustrations soon began to show. As the track came to an end, Bobby V, Pleasure P, and Sammie all began harmonizing with Ray J. The singer-turned-entrepreneur abruptly stopped singing and allowed them to continue alone. “What happened to me?” he questioned as they finished singing. “Wait, I’m not in the group?” he asked.

He also apologized for missing “a few notes,” as he was holding his son. “Imma make up for that one, I heard it too,” he admitted.

Ray J Vents His Frustrations

As the show progressed, it became clear Ray J was not over it and was still frustrated. After several more songs, he returned. “Imma keep it all the way real,” he began. “I been having fun with y’all n##### but y’all all been interrupting my songs, singing the songs, singing the harmonies. I start again acapella to try to serenade Princess and y’all go “One Wish,” again. Like damn, just let me get one off,” he said.

He then addressed the audience, explaining that fans had been waiting for him to sing “One Wish,” since the Verzuz announcement. “All y’all n##### just mad because y’all don’t own y’all hits,” he added before the performers all began arguing about who owns their masters.  Check out the clip below.

FKi 1st On Why He’s The “Last Player Alive”

FKI 1st is the definition of a creative, someone who stays locked in the studio perfecting his craft any chance he can. Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, FKI 1st is best known for his work in the hip-hop space, with a catalog that will motivate any other producer to work harder and hopefully one day attain the same number of plaques and hit records.

To date, he’s produced and contributed to Travis Porter’s “Make It Rain” and “Bring It Back,” Iggy Azalea’s “Work,” Post Malone’s “White Iverson,” Travis Scott’s “R.I.P Screw,” 2 Chainz’ “Watch Out,” and many many more.

Now, 1st shifts his focus to his own artistry, unveiling his newest project titled Last Player Alive. To coincide, he also unveils his “Firestarter” visual, proving he has the drive, passion, and talents to also step into the limelight as his own recording artist.

AllHipHop: What inspired LPA?

FKi 1st: I’m the Last Player Alive. Everybody is making the same s### and people don’t really know about players. There’s a lot of older West Coast rappers who are my favorite like Too Short and Suga Free. I listened to them when I was a kid, my uncles put me on. Nobody makes music like that no more, everybody makes the same s### but there’s a lane for cool player s### too, you know what I mean? I like to rage sometimes too you know, but I’m on some player s###. Player s### ain’t all about pimp s###, nothing like that. I ain’t even gotta be about women. It’s about the way you move and the s### you do. Like when you do something, is it player? On everyday s###, it could be something normal.

AllHipHop: What inspired the “Firestarter” video?

FKi 1st: I got a 4-step plan in life and until that 4-step plan is reached, I’m stuck in the studio at all times. I want to portray s### I do in the studio all day long and I think I’m the hottest ni**a., I just have to prove it to everybody. I also like the old movie Firestarter with Drew Barrymore, that s### was fire and they made it over.

AllHipHop: What do you want fans to take away from the project?

FKi 1st: Learn how to move. Learn how to be cool man, there’s a lot of weirdos out here in the world. They’re making the world weird for everybody. Y’all just need to calm down, learn how to treat a woman. It’s like you dudes hate women or something, that s### is crazy. This project is just part one, part two coming soon. Ay man, just keep it player. That’s all I’m going to say.

In short, the experience 1st is bringing with Last Player Alive is an inside look to what being a player truly is. He adds, “It’s a state of mind, how you move whether you are in a business or in the streets. All those things put together, is keeping it player.”

Matthew “Formatt” DeFreitas’ Bay Eight Recording Studios is Top-Notch and World-Class

A studio, along with the engineers within the studio, can make or break records. Finding a great studio to cultivate one’s sound can be extremely difficult, and the search can be disheartening. However, once that state-of-the-art studio is found, a music artist can have their music greatly enhanced in quality and will see their music flourish. Matthew DeFreitas (aka Formatt) has created such a studio in the heart of Miami Beach.

Bay Eight Recording Studios was founded in 2015 by Mattew DeFreitas. DeFreitas’ career beginnings started in Boston, in 2004, at a studio called, “Boston Skyline Studio.” During his time at Boston Skyline Studio, he was able to develop his skills and learn the tools of the trade. He eventually landed an internship in Miami, then went onto do freelance audio engineering work. In true go-getter fashion, Matthew DeFreitas branched out and created the iconic Bay Eight Recording Studios.

Bay Eight Recording Studios is a three-room facility with comfortable interiors in an uber-creative atmosphere. All three of its studio rooms are acoustically designed to capture high-quality recordings. The software used and equipment that is equipped in the studio’s rooms are next level. Some of the equipment are as follows: a renowned SSL AWS 900 console, two Tube-Tech CL 1B’s, two Neve 1073’s, and two API 512C’s in the studio’s SSL Room and Apollo Room.

In 2021, Bay Eight went through a renovation, enlisting Ross Alexander of Synergetic Services to handle the re-design of the SSL Room. The SSL Room now brandishes a brand new custom pair of Augspurger Duo 18 monitors flush-mounted in the walls, Barefoot MM27 Micro Mains, Genelec 8361A monitors, a vintage Pultec EQP-1A and Pultec MEQ-5, and a mint Sony C-800G microphone. The latest additions have thoroughly enhanced the already perfect sound the studio is known for.

Similar to Bay Eight Recording Studios’ owner, Formatt – who is a multi-platinum audio engineer, Bay Eight Recordings Studio has won several awards including the coveted GRAMMY Award. Bay Eight Recording Studios has also worked with countless household names and companies. Formatt’s Bay Eight Recording Studios has only been around for less than a decade, and it already has had legendary clients and results. VH1 Fires “Black Ink Crew New York” Star Ceaser Emanuel After Shocking Dog Abuse Video Surfaces

VH1 cut ties with Black Ink Crew New York’s Ceaser Emanuel.

Emanuel came under scrutiny after a video of him abusing dogs surfaced online. VH1 announced his firing on Thursday (June 23).

“We have made the decision to cut ties with Ceaser Emanuel from Black Ink Crew New York,” VH1 said in a statement. “Since next season was close to finishing production, this decision will not impact the upcoming season.”

Former Black Ink Crew cast member Donna Lombardi called out Emanuel on Instagram. She also accused VH1 and its parent company Viacom of protecting him from past allegations of abuse.

“If you can treat a dog like this, it shows how sick of a person you truly are,” she wrote. “I don’t even get into the life of this man, but this video made me so upset. Anyone who knows me, knows I LOVE animals. Especially dogs.”

She continued, “Even after he beat his daughter up, @vh1 @viacom_intl & the new @blackinkcrew producers tried to protect Ceaser, even made up fake conflicting storylines about my relationship to do it! Now this, cannot be undone. I pray the people see you, @ceaserblackink , as the monster you are. Your karma has been adding up for years, but to do this to two innocent dogs!?! This is crazy. CHARGES NEED TO BE PRESSED, and CANCELLATIONS NEED TO BE MADE!”

Emanuel’s Instagram comments were filled with criticism after the dog abuse video spread on social media.

Grandmaster Jay Supporters Launch Website

Grandmaster Jay, nee John Fitzgerald Johnson, was found found guilty on two counts related to pointing a rifle and authorities, an accusation he denies.

His staunch supporters have launched a website,Justice4gmj.com, I an effort to disseminate information and raise awareness about his plight. Additionally, the site offers numerous ways for individuals to communicate with the public. These modes include letters, texting and even phone calls.

There are other reasons for the site, such as raising funds for legal appeal of his conviction. Although found guilty, Grandmaster Jay is fighting back since last month’s trial by jury.

A statement on the website outlines their aims and objectives as well as their feelings about the persecution of their leader.

Every single action John Johnson has taken has been in conjunction with local state officials and objectively, within the confines of legal activity. He has consistently displayed profound and enlightening insight on the state of race relations in America and the significance of cultivating people, precisely those most impacted by violent racial crimes, into fully educated legally assembling, and fundamentally competent to exercise their right to bear arms and protect themselves from viable threats across the country.

As of May 27, 2022, Mr. Johnson is now a political prisoner of the United States government. He has been arbitrarily charged and wrongfully convicted. We are asking for your assistance. Join us to help facilitate awareness of this grave injustice. We also ask that you educate yourself and others on the case and write your local congressman senators house of representatives. As we bring attention to these unjust rulings, join us in guaranteeing this conviction will be overturned in the federal courts and a complete exoneration extend it to Mr. Johnson in the federal state courts in conjunction with infringement of his first second fourth and sixth amendment rights on August 22, 2022 in Louisville Kentucky.

Grandmaster Jay founded the NFAC (Not F##king Around Coalition) in the aftermath of the violent murder of Ahmaud Arbery. Arbery, a 25-year-old Black man, was hunted and eventually murdered while he jobbed in Satilla Shores, neighboring Brunswick, Georgia. At the time, AllHipHop interviewed Grandmaster Jay right after the NFAC descended on the scene in order to protect Arbery’s family from further harm.

The NFAC eventually formed into a full-blown Black militia under Grandmaster Jay’s leadership and formed in several instances to offer aid or protection against white nationalists. However, it also seemed to generate fear as well, in stark contrast to the public response to the militant group’s radical, generally racist counterparts.

Grandmaster Jay has a planned appeal to a verdict by a Louisville jury.  He will be sentenced August 22.

Omar Hajmurad has a rare ability to compose beautiful music. You could assume you’re listening to the work of a talented painter when you hear his music. A sound painter is employed instead of a color painter. As a result, a large number of individuals will be able to appreciate music in a variety of ways. It resembles art in certain ways.

This song was composed with Omar Hajmurad’s heart and soul in mind. He enlisted Rumor Records’ assistance, who had opted to polish the song on their own. As a consequence, when the song was ultimately published, it won over listeners’ hearts right away. We owe Rumor Records a huge debt of gratitude for releasing such a lovely song.

Government Demands Prison For Nicki Minaj’s Husband Kenneth Petty

Nicki Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty may serve time in prison for failing to register as a sex offender.

According to court documents obtained by AllHipHop, the government recommended a 15-month prison sentence for Kenneth Petty. Nicki Minaj’s husband pleaded guilty to failure to register as a sex offender in 2021.

“The government respectfully requests that the Court sentence defendant to a low-end Guidelines sentence of 15 months imprisonment, five years supervised release, a mandatory $100 special assessment and a $55,000 fine,” United States Attorneys urged.

Kenneth Petty was convicted of attempted rape in 1995. He registered as a sex offender for years before failing to do so when he moved to California in 2019.

“Defendant has been completing sex offender registration documents for nearly 20 years,” the government noted. “Over the course of two decades, he was repeatedly warned that if he moved to another state, it was his responsibility to follow any local, city, state, federal, or international laws regarding registration.”

It continued, “In 2019, defendant began a relationship with a celebrity and moved to California. Only then did defendant decide to shirk his registration requirements, despite having had the benefit of 20 years’ worth of warnings.”

United States Attorneys suggested Kenneth Petty’s relationship with Nicki Minaj played a role in his failure to register. His lifestyle raised concerns for the government, which requested prison time to emphasize the gravity of his sex offender status.

“The timing of defendant’s lapse in registration is concerning, given that it occurred when defendant began dating his wife, quit his job, moved to Los Angeles, and adopted an affluent lifestyle,” the government argued. “The Court should impose a within-Guidelines sentence to impose on defendant the importance of his registration requirements and the need to follow the law, regardless of his changed socioeconomic status.”

U.S. Attorneys called for Kenneth Petty to not receive “preferential treatment.” They advised against home confinement for imprisonment.

The Baddest Chick, Trina, is the Latest to Add Dez Nado’s Summertime Anthem “Flawda Ish” to Rotation

After earning radio airplay on several stations throughout the southeast U.S. all the way out to Cali, crossing a quarter-million mixtape plays with global music syndicate Mixtape Monopoly, charting and trending for multiple weeks on DigitalDJPool.com, CICANA Urban Mixshow Priority Pool, and PlayMPE, receiving critical acclaim on multiple established music blogs, and earning over 50K streams on the most widely used streaming platforms since the May 2022 premiere, Dez Nado’s latest single “Flawda Ish”, featuring fellow Jacksonville native J Chat, is now catching the eyes of Miami-based rapper and VH1 TV star Trina, who took to Instagram in support of Dez’s new hit on Juneteenth weekend. We can’t wait to see what’s next for this buzzing tune, which multiple media outlets have dubbed a “spring/summer anthem”. Stay tuned.

Jay Scott, also known as Dez Nado, is an American hip hop and reggae singer, songwriter, and record producer from Jacksonville, Florida. He is also a television producer who produces and directs what was Jacksonville’s first and only cable reality TV series, Life & Grind: Duval, and LIVE from New Jax City, both of which originated in north Florida/south Georgia’s CW Network affiliate WCWJ/CW. Both series developed a significant following in and around Jacksonville, as well as outside of the North Florida/South Georgia market, opening doors for Dez and the team to work as media partners with major networks like BET, TVOne, Lifetime, and more.

Nado saw his earliest successes in college, where he used his platform as a college DJ at a small university in Jacksonville to distribute and promote his music and host his own showcases on campus. After nearly being killed by a gunshot to the chest in 2009, he shifted the tone of his music from “self-destructive to self-productive” and started using his music as a platform for pushing a progressive agenda and promoting non-violence in one of the most violent cities in Florida. This new sound led to his first major digital distribution deal after releasing his first mixtape series, No Hands, which included No Hands, No Hands 1.5, and No Hands 2. distributed by KKR/Island/Def Jam and his most progressive work in response to his views on the Trayvon Martin shooting and the Stand Your Ground policy in his home state of Florida.

Dez is hitting the road this summer/fall and featuring up-and-coming talent on the current seasons of both of his TV shows while capturing his life and grind from his own perspective for a new TV series to come in late 2022. He’s also promoting his latest single “Flawda Ish” featuring J Chat, a part of his upcoming mixtape “LPYH SSNZ: Twerk Tape”, a twist on/celebration of Twerk culture that was preceded by a mixtape entitled “LPYH SSNZ: 90s Tape” (pronounced Logophilia Sessions: Nineties Tape; a themed mixtape with songs inspired by popular trends of the 1990s) which dropped Valentine’s weekend 2020.  The LPYH SSNZ series will also include a mixtape album to be released this fall-inspired by popular trends from the 80s, and other mixtapes in the series counting down to what Dez anticipates being his final solo rap project, a major LP finale: LPYH (LogophiliYaH) in 2023 which will feature several “surprises”, according to him.

Dez Nado’s “Shoot Ya Shot” album preceded the 90s Tape and, within 48 hours of release, was added to several notable Spotify playlists like Caltify MX (53.5K followers), Release Radar, and Discover Weekly, along with over 10 U.S.-based Spotify user playlists, earned nearly 1,000 streams & 500 + new listeners on Spotify and 2,000 plays on Soundcloud with generally favorable feedback from the Soundcloud user community.

4 weeks in, the album earned nearly 30,000 Spotify streams, with over 12,000 new listeners, and over 8,000 plays on Soundcloud. In June 2022, the mixtape album is crossed half a million total streams on Spotify–right on time for the summer hit “Flawda Ish” to take the spotlight until his next single release leading up to the Twerk Tape’s release; the single is expected to be a “return to [his] Jamaican and Panamanian roots with a more Caribbean feel”.
