Donald Glover Doubles Down On ‘Atlanta’ Being As Good As ‘The Sopranos’

Many television fans consider HBO’s The Sopranos one of the best TV shows of all time. Donald Glover believes his Emmy-winning dramedy Atlanta fits on that list right next to the celebrated 2000s-era crime drama.

In November 2020, Glover tweeted, “While I’m here: ‘Atlanta’ s3+s4 are going to be some of the best television ever made. Sopranos only ones who can touch us.” The rapper/actor deleted that Twitter post but he continues to stand by the sentiment.

Season three of Atlanta premiered at this year’s South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas. Variety published some of Donald Glover’s quotes from the red-carpet event which included the former Community star doubling down on his Sopranos take.

“I talk my s### on the internet,” said Donald Glover. “I said Sopranos and s###. I’m not backing down from that s###. I’m holding my nuts out on that s###. I just want [audiences] to know this s### is good. It’s high-quality s###. I hope you can have cursing [in your story].”

The third installment of new Atlanta episodes will begin airing on March 24 on the FX network. The series had to postpone production due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The crew filmed the forthcoming final two seasons at the same time. Season 3 is set in Europe.

Jaden Smith Nearly Made An Appearance On Atlanta

The Atlanta cast features Donald Glover, Brian Tyree Henry, Lakeith Stanfield, and Zazie Beetz. Glover revealed Jaden Smith nearly appeared on one show but the fellow rapper/actor was too busy at the time.

Back in 2018, Glover disclosed that Tiny Toon Adventures inspired season 2 of Atlanta. Apparently, the Grammy-winning recording artist, also known as Childish Gambino, drew inspiration from folklore for the latest batch of Atlanta episodes.

“We just wanted to make a black fairytale,” stated Donald Glover. “I remember sitting in the writers’ room and being like, ‘What do we write about?’ We just wanted to do short stories. Something I would want to watch.”

Trevor Noah Reacts To Kanye West Being Canceled From The Grammys

It appears Kanye West will not perform at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards in Las Vegas on April 3. According to reports, The Recording Academy pulled Ye from the event due to his “concerning online behavior.”

Kanye West’s “Eazy” collaborator The Game then suggested this year’s Grammy host, Trevor Noah, could have played a role in Ye being removed from the lineup. West repeatedly trolled Noah on Instagram before the platform temporarily suspended the musician’s IG account.

“I said counsel Kanye not cancel Kanye,” tweeted Trevor Noah on Sunday, seemingly in response to the rumors he backed the removal of Kanye West from the upcoming Grammy broadcast. Noah’s Twitter post garnered over 5,000 retweets and more than 52,000 likes.

For several weeks, Kanye West used his social media accounts to antagonize his estranged wife Kim Kardashian, her current boyfriend Pete Davidson, and others. Trevor Noah was among the public figures to comment on West’s actions.

The Daily Show host spoke about the Kanye West/Kim Kardashian/Pete Davidson controversy on his late-night comedy program. Noah accused West of harassing Kardashian.

Other celebrities have also spoken out about Kanye West’s recent behavior. The Originals Kings of Comedy stars D. L. Hughley and Steve Harvey had words for the G.O.O.D. Music label founder. Additionally, Charlamagne Tha God gave Ye the “Donkey of the Day” award.

Kanye West earned five nominations for this year’s Grammys. The 44-year-old billionaire’s Donda project from 2021 is up for Album Of The Year and Best Rap Album. “Jail” scored a Best Rap Song nomination. “Hurricane” made it into the Best Melodic Rap Performance category.

Calvin Spiethfel Shares how Music is His Emotional Medium

Great music, regardless of its genre, era, or artist, has one unifying and universal factor that transcends language barriers, cultures, and generations to speak to something in our very souls. And that elusive and magical factor is pure, unbridled emotion.

From Beethoven to The Beatles, from Elvis to Eminem, and from Muddy Waters to Madonna, the willingness to put it all on the line in a song and expose your deepest, most innermost self to the world touches a chord with us all and is a sound indicator of true talent.

The need for every artist, at some point in their career, is to channel their emotions in order to upgrade their talent and become a world-beating force. This is something that young musical sensation Calvin Spiethfel has been busy tapping into and feels incredibly passionate about.

“Growing up, I always found in music an escape from reality because it offered me an alternative universe where I could be myself and experience my true emotions without censure or criticism,” stated Calvin Spiethfel.

He continued, “Music gave me an intense, rewarding, and meaningful inner life. It also made me feel that I could achieve and do anything. In short, it gave me wings. There was no doubt in my mind it was what I wanted to dedicate every ounce of my being to, and I also wanted to be able to express my emotions in a way I knew that only the most talented could.”

Calvin Spiethfel has been a versatile musician from an early age. He is equally at home on the violin as the piano and a variety of other instruments. As his recorded output to date will testify, he has all the technical ability in the world. But what Calvin Spiethfel, like all true artists, craves is the emotional authenticity to make the whole world take notice. He explained, “Anyone can knock out a novelty tune that’ll make them famous for 15 minutes.

However, I’m not interested in being a gimmick. I want to create something that’ll stand the test of time and mean something for generations to come. Channeling your innermost emotions to create music has a habit of making you a better artist. Yet, more importantly, if I can create something that connects with others the same way music once connected with me and set me upon the path I’m on, then I’d consider that my greatest homage to my art.”

More life and blessings to this young musical artist. We hope he finds great success in his career as a musician.

Kid Cudi Impressed By His Daughter’s Horror Movie Commentary; “X” Prequel On The Way

Kid Cudi is impressed by his daughter’s “real” commentary on horror films.

The rapper/actor made an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Tuesday to promote his new slasher film, “X.”

During the conversation, Cudi revealed that the first scary movie he watched with his 11-year-old daughter Vada was 2017’s “It.”

“I said, ‘Okay, I think you’re old enough to watch something.’ I think It came out at that time,” he said, causing members of the audience to gasp.

While Kid Cudi monitored Vada’s reaction to “Pennywise the Dancing Clown,” he was amazed by her perspective.

“She’s just like, ‘Why they following that clown?’ I love sitting with her,” he said. “She has these commentaries during the movies, and she says the realest stuff. It’s like, ‘I feel you, kid.'”

“X,” starring Mia Goth, Jenna Ortega, and Martin Henderson, hit cinemas on Friday (March 18th).

In related news, director Ti West revealed he secretly shot a prequel to “X.”

The filmmaker revealed the prequel when he shared a teaser of the project during “X’s” premiere at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival.
“X” follows an amateur filmmaking team shooting a p### movie in rural Texas, before they’re interrupted by a murderous elderly couple who live on the land.

The prequel, titled “Pearl,” tells the backstory of the elderly woman.

West explained to IndieWire that he decided to shoot both films back-to-back while the cast and crew were already on set in New Zealand.

“I came out of quarantine, and I was like, ‘We’re already building all of this stuff, it’s COVID, and we’re on the one place on Earth where it’s safe to make a movie. We have the whole crew from ‘Avatar 2’ who’s on break. We should make two movies,'” he shared. “The miracle of ‘A24’ was that they thought this was actually a good idea.”

He added that ‘Pearl’ will feel like a very different movie to ‘X,’ saying, “They’re super different and very out-of-nowhere. You won’t need to see one to see the other but they do complement each other.”

West also revealed that he’s writing the third film in the franchise, which will explore another filmmaking era.

Lin-Manuel Miranda Shocked By Encanto’s “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” Success

Lin-Manuel Miranda is stunned by the international popularity of Encanto’s “We Don’t Talk About Bruno.”

The song, which features in the animated Disney film, has become a viral sensation and top trending tune on music charts around the world.

Reflecting on the success of “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” during an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Monday night, Lin-Manuel confessed he didn’t predict the tune would be such a smash.

“Group numbers are never the hit. It’s the ballad or the villain’s song. It’s always something else,” he said. “But the group numbers are the thing the theatre kids like and no one else likes because they get to sing it at their cast party.”

Later in the conversation, host Jimmy joked that “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” has become a “problem” for lots of families.

As part of a sketch, Lin-Manuel offered fans a fictional medication called “Encantix” to help “curb cravings” for listening to the soundtrack.

Julia Fox Backtracks On Comments About Kanye Being Harmless: “I Had Not Seen Latest Instagram Posts”

Julia Fox is backtracking on some controversial comments about Kanye West she made last week.

The “Uncut Gems” actress started dating in early January; however, in February, the pair parted ways on Valentine’s Day.

Since then, Kanye has had numerous public outbursts about his ex-wife Kim Kardashian and co-parenting their four children. He has also consistently attacked her new relationship with comedian Pete Davidson.

Ye even decapitated a claymation version of the comedian in the video for his new song “Eazy” with Compton rap star Game.

Last week, TMZ caught up with Julia Fox as she exited Barry’s Bootcamp in Los Angeles, and she claimed the rap star was harmless despite issuing ominous threats, most notably to Pete and DL Hughley.

Kanye’s harmless. I just think that’s his artistic, creative expression. I know it’s aggressive, but I think if it really came down to it I don’t think Kanye would hurt a fly.”

However, Julia Fox is singing a different tune now that her ex-boyfriend has been suspended from Instagram and booted from his performance at the Grammy’s over his online behavior.

“I would like to point out that I had not seen the latest Instagram posts at the time of this video…believe it or not I have a life and a son, and I don’t have google alerts for this man,” she said in a since-deleted post.

Kanye was suspended from Instagram for 24 hours for violating its harassment, hate speech, and bullying policies after he attacked Hughley and Trevor Noah, who will host the upcoming Grammy Awards.

Since his suspension, Kanye has completely wiped his Instagram page

Rihanna Says She Will Be A “Psycho” Mom; Compares Parenting Style To Real Housewives Of New Jersey Star

Rihanna has joked she would be a “psycho” when protecting her child.

The music superstar, who is expecting her first child with boyfriend A$AP Rocky, told Elle.com that she expects her parenting style to be like Teresa Giudice from The Real Housewives of New Jersey.

“Teresa from Jersey does not play about her kids,” she explained. “She will flatten you about those kids. And that resonates with me a lot because I feel like that’s the type of mom I’m going to be. Psycho about it.”

When the interviewer joked that she might “flip a table,” Rihanna replied, “Worse. You talk about my kids, it’s over.”

In late January, the 34-year-old announced her pregnancy when she showed off her baby bump during a walk with Rocky in New York. During her interview with Elle, she revealed she was in her third trimester and sometimes has little motivation to get ready.

“There’s also those days, girl. Especially in the third trimester where you wake up, and you’re like, ‘Oh, do I have to get dressed?'” she shared. “Make-up for sure helps you feel like a real person. I just focused a lot on moisturizing and on contouring. The face gets a little round and chubby. The nose starts to spread.

“Everything is a challenge, from getting dressed and how you’re going to do your make-up. But I like challenges. I like things that force me to be creative and create in new ways. And with beauty, there’s so much that you can do.”

The singer gave the interview to celebrate the launch of her Fenty Beauty line in Ulta Beauty stores.

Drake Beats Lawsuit Over Beer-Fueled Injury At “Rowdy” Concert

Drake, aka Champagne Papi, will be popping bottles of bubbly this weekend after coming out on top of a case where bottle popping almost cost him a grip.

Drake’s team is celebrating a recent legal win that a New York judge has handed him by dismissing a case stemming from a 2016 concert at Madison Square Garden, where a woman named Amanda Giovacco claimed she was injured at the performance and the “Certified Lover Boy” was at fault.

The woman filed her lawsuit in July 2019, claiming she “was violently struck by a beer bottle thrown while attending Drake’s concert. Giovacco said she was maliciously and subjected to a battery without just cause or provocation.

Giovacco’s legal team suggested that the defendants ignored the “aggressive and/or violent behavior at the concert” and that since “they knew Drake has a history of violence at his concerts,” security and staff at the venue should have been more alert.

She said she suffered a traumatic brain injury and seizures from getting hit in the head and said it stopped her from attending medical school.

According to Radar Online, Judge Paul A. Goetz dismissed Amanda Giovacco’s claim against the artist, Live Nation, Madison Square Garden, and Joseph Picco, an MSG employee, on Friday.

This ruling affirms that none of the defendants were at fault for her injuries.

Court filings stated, “defendants had no duty to plaintiff and plaintiff’s mother’s testimony that the crowd was extremely rowdy when Drake was on stage is insufficient to create an issue of fact.”

The court document also said the woman “failed to make a prima facie showing of negligence by defendants” and that her claims are “unsupported by a statement of undisputed facts” and “failed to meet her burden with regard to spoliation.”

With this ruling, none of the accused is responsible for paying for Giovacco’s alleged injuries or medical damages.

NBC Sports TV Host Jake McGrady is Breaking into the Music Industry

Jake McGrady found success as one of the most influential televisions and podcast personalities in Portland. Now, he’s focused on one thing: the music industry.

Jake ‘Mr. Portland’ McGrady had no idea that one day he would have created a career for himself in television, podcasting, and social media. The Portland native graduated from Oregon State University in 2016 with a degree in marketing and broadcasting and he hasn’t slowed down since.  In Portland, there is one thing that the city cares about more than just about anything else: the Portland Trail Blazers.

Jake has been able to successfully build a career in media that was fueled by his passion for Rip City through his Mr. Portland personal on social media. His network of followers/fans has watched his career evolve from hosting the ‘Beaver Sports TV Show’ and ‘2nd String Sports’ radio show in college, to hosting an NBA talk show on NBC Sports Northwest.

In 2018, Jake joined the cast of Blazers Outsiders, bringing his NBA Twitter personality onto television screens, covering the Trail Blazers, NBA news, and providing pop culture commentary.

In addition to the TV show, Jake continued to grow in the sports media scene with his ‘2nd String’ podcast. What started as the ‘2nd String Sports’ radio show that Jake founded at Oregon State had now become one of Portland’s #1 podcasts. Initially, the podcast grew as a sports talk show with Portland Trail Blazers commentary which attracted Jake’s Mr. Portland following.

Through the podcast, Jake has found a passion and talent for interviewing. The trio of hosts has gone on to interview the likes of Mike Barrett, Lamar Hurd, Meyers Leonard, Anfernee Simons, and many other athletes, coaches, and sports media personalities.

As the podcast grew a larger fanbase, so did Jake’s vision for himself and the direction of the show. The podcast rebranded from 2nd String Sports to 2nd String Show, ditching ‘sports’ from the name as the trio pivoted towards a broader audience of pop culture and entertainment.

If there is one thing Jake is just as passionate about as he is with the Portland Trail Blazers, it’s music. McGrady has now started to grow his resume on the music scene, interviewing guests on his show such as Grammy Award-winning band Portugal. the Man, Grammy-nominated rapper/singer iLoveMakonnen, and music industry photographer and social media personality Jake Chamseddine

In 2021, Jake joined the RapTV team as a social strategist and @rap TikTok lead, helping create content for the largest hip-hop community in the world over a network of accounts accumulating 25+ million followers.

2022 is gearing up to be a big year for the media personality as Jake plans to really make a splash in the music industry and mainstream media scene with some new projects that have been in the works. His goal is to launch his own label/management company that offers full-service social media management and content creation for artists in the hip-hop space while he also continues to further his own career in television.

From sports to music. Stay on the lookout for Jake McGrady.

A Talented Las Vegas Teen “Rae Milli” is Ready to Shine Bright in a City Full of Stars

Rae Milli, born Aiyana Evans, is creating a major buzz in a lot of music circles. A Las Vegas native who has been singing and dancing since she could walk has recently signed her first recording contract.

Being willing to bet on herself and follow her passion for creating music caused her to turn down four volleyball scholarships after graduating high school last year. That talent and passion got the attention of indie label Evo Music Group which recently signed her and made Rae the first lady of EMG.

Her versatile flow and ability to sing and rap have drawn some high praise and comparisons. When asked about the fact that some of her work reminds people of a female Drake, Rae laughed and said “Hold up now, don’t go that far. Drake is an icon, I’m just getting started.”

Her humbleness is refreshing in this age of industry and social media bravado. She attributes that to her mother and father who keep her grounded. “My mom and dad are my biggest supporters but they say they keep the safety pin to pop my head if it gets too big,” Rae says as she shakes her head.

After hearing some of her newly mastered songs and the vision of which current big names are going to be on which ones, I’m predicting that Rae will soon be shining bright not just in Las Vegas but in the industry as a whole.

Jayda Cheaves Hints At Lil Baby Break Up: I Post My Own Tea

For years, Jayda Cheaves has invested her time into her burgeoning relationship with Lil Baby. In fact, from this partnership the pair are diligently working to raise their son. However, yesterday (March 18), she hinted at a romantic break up offering the cryptic message, “I post my own tea.”

Generally speaking, no relationship is without its faults. Yet, the reoccurring cheating allegations may have added to this decision to part ways. So, the fashion influencer is candidly sharing her narrative.

The Declaration

Initially, an infamous slow clap GIF introduces the announcement. “I’m finally standing up,” offered the beauty boss. As a matter of fact, the following posts to her Instagram stories seem to detail her heartache.

Soon, to the public, she offers sage advice. “Everything comes to an end. Never force it. Be happy,” reads the stark message.

Moreover, she mentions what action that she is willing to take in order to maintain her composure. “I’m willing to [X] anybody out for my happiness and peace,” four crying emojis are used to help emphasize her point. Next, Jayda Wayda demonstrates sheer vulnerability.

“I post my own [tea] so I can clown myself before i get clowned,” admits Ms. Cheaves. Cuz shiddddd it’s cold out here — ion know how this [sh*t] gon go,” reads the reflective message.

In recent past, the emerging entrepreneur endured very public issues concerning Lil Baby’s alleged infidelity. Although, a lavish lifestyle accompanied her partnership, it may not be rich enough to silence any lingering doubts.

The Response

Following Jayda’s apparent break-up post, Lil Baby, did not wait to publicly reply. “WHEN A MF THINK THEY CAN PLAY WITH ME,” the cocky caption reads. In fact, the happy feet seemingly depict his confident exit from the relationship. Be that as it may, Jayda Cheaves has more to share.

“THINK THEY CAN PLAY WITH YOU? LMFAO YOU PLAYED WITH ME FOR 6 YEARS STRAIGHT. I TEXT A N*GGA BACK NOW YOUR CHEST HURT. BYE,” she writes in the matter-of-fact clap back.

Ultimately, both of these two chose to delete their last social media responses. So, this time, are they actually romantically done with each other?
