Will Smith Gets Visit From LA County Sheriffs At His Home

Will Smith received a visit from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday.

Photographers caught footage of officers entering the gates of the Smiths’ Calabasas mansion in a marked patrol car on Tuesday afternoon.

Their visit came two days after Will walked on stage and slapped Oscars presenter Chris Rock during the live telecast over a joke made about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith.

Deputy Lizette Salcon, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, told Page Six that officers arrived after a drone was reported flying through the neighborhood.

“We just sent that unit over there to try to locate the drone and see if there was a paparazzi or what was going on,” the deputy said. “But when the deputies got there, they weren’t able to locate the drone. It had already left the area.”

She did not confirm whether it was the Smiths who reported the drone.

While Chris decided not to press charges, Steve Cooley, Los Angeles County District Attorney from 2000 to 2012, told the New York Post on Tuesday that

Will could face legal consequences anyway.

“The (Los Angeles) city attorney could bring charges based upon the evidence without necessarily relying upon the victim,” he said. “The victim does not control whether or not a prosecutor should file charges. However, charges actually can and should be filed because the offense was against the state of California.

“It’s not Chris Rock versus Will Smith in a criminal matter. The LAPD and the city attorney should not close the door on what was an obvious criminal offense and is easily provable.”

Will apologized for his “unacceptable and inexcusable” behavior in a statement on Monday, and Jada broke her silence on Tuesday.

“This is a season for healing and I’m here for it,” via Instagram.

Is NBA YoungBoy Getting Bigger Than The Notorious B.I.G.?

Regardless, of any distracting antics, Top is a voice that Hip-Hop appreciates. Needless to mention, he is steadily surpassing respected records. In fact, NBA YoungBoy recently topples this Notorious B.I.G. Billboard 200 record. So, is NBA YoungBoy getting bigger than the Notorious B.I.G.?

So, numbers purportedly do not lie. However, data most certainly fall victim to manipulation. Be that as it may, the Neighborhood Superstar is reportedly outpacing greatness.

Not long ago, DJ Akademiks, seemingly dropped a surprising bomb. Thus, the polarizing personality offers the following. “#nbayoungboy has now officially spent more time on the billboard charts than Biggie,” reads the candid caption.

Moreover, the “HIT” artist receives additional praise for this startling accomplishment. Thus, the Louisiana lyricist, “has not surpassed the Notorious B.I.G. in total billboard weeks to become the first rapper with the 20th most weeks on the charts in history,” exclaims the Akademiks post. Additionally, the enamored message focuses on the age of the phenom, “This man is only 22 years old.”

At any rate, Hip-Hop is a competitive genre. Of course, sometimes records will shatter. On the other hand, technology is constantly changing the way music is dispersed and consumed. So, can Biggie Smalls even be placed into the same category as NBA YoungBoy?

R&B recording artist August Alsina took to Instagram to share a message with his 6.7 million followers. The “I Luv This Sh*t” performer’s IG post comes after Will Smith infamously slapped Chris Rock at the 94th Academy Awards.

August Alsina became tabloid fodder in 2020 when news broke about his previous romantic liaison with Will Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. The 29-year-old New Orleans native even released a song titled “Entanglements” which was inspired by Jada’s description of their extramarital relationship.

Doja Cat Repeats She’s Retiring From Music

So is Doja Cat really ready to walk away from the music industry? On March 25, the Planet Her album creator posted a tweet claiming her run in the spotlight was coming to an end.

“This s### ain’t for me so I’m out. Y’all take care,” tweeted Doja Cat on March 25. She later added, “I don’t have to focus on anything because I quit.” The next day, Doja Cat returned to Twitter with what appeared to be a change of heart.

“I can travel, I can eat good food, I can see new people, I can smile, I can make memories that I dreamed of having, I can laugh, I can support my family and my friends, I can learn about the world, and I can give back to everyone because of you. I do owe people s###. I owe a lot,” posted Doja.

Numerous outlets ran articles about Doja Cat supposedly quitting the record business and then backtracking on that retirement. A March 28 tweet from Mix 105.1 read, “Ok so maybe @DojaCat isn’t retiring.”

That particular tweet by the Orlando-based radio station garnered a direct response from Doja Cat on Twitter. The 11-time Grammy nominee simply replied, “Yes the f### I am.”

Doja Cat Became A Billboard Chart Regular Over

If Doja Cat does retire from making music, she will leave the scene with one career #1 on the Hot 100 chart. “Say So” featuring Nicki Minaj peaked atop those Billboard rankings in May 2020.

The 26-year-old rapper/singer has five Top 10 hits on the Hot 100. Her Hot Pink album, which dropped in 2019, has spent 125 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart.

Doja Cat’s discography also includes 2018’s Amala and 2021’s Planet Her. The latter project holds the record for the longest tenure in Billboard 200’s Top 10 for a female rapper.

Additionally, the Planet Her single “Woman” made it into the Hot 100’s Top 10 this week. Doja Cat now has three solo Top 10 hits throughout her career. “Need To Know” and the original “Say So” also climbed into that region.

Tony Rock Reacts To Will Smith Slapping His Brother Chris Rock

It is day four of SlapGate. Will Smith smacking comedian Chris Rock at the 94th Academy Awards continues to dominate the discussion online, and now Tony Rock has shared his thoughts on the situation.

Chris Rock attended the Oscars on Sunday to present the Best Documentary Feature award. While on stage, the Good Hair movie producer made fun of Will Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, who was sitting in the audience.

“Jada, I love you. G.I. Jane 2, can’t wait to see it,” said Chris Rock, referring to the 1997 movie G.I. Jane which featured a bald Demi Moore. Pinkett Smith lost her hair due to a medical condition known as alopecia.

Will Smith initially laughed at Chris Rock’s joke, but the Best Actor winner eventually slapped the former Saturday Night Live cast member in the face on live television. The King Richard star later apologized to Chris on Instagram.

During a “20 Questions Tuesday” session on Twitter, Tony Rock called the Academy Awards viral moment involving his sibling “foul.” The stand-up comic also stated that he would “respond” to Will Smith.

One person on the social media platform asked Tony if he approved of Will Smith’s apology. The Tony Rock Project actor simply responded, “No.” The 47-year-old New Yorker also declared Chris Rock should decide how the brothers will respond to the situation.

Plus, Tony Rock suggested Sean “Diddy” Combs was lying about Chris Rock and Will Smith settling their differences on Oscar night. In addition, Tony stated he is still “waiting” for Will Smith to speak directly to Chris Rock and the rest of the Rock family.

James Corden Clowns Will And Jada Using Encanto’s Big Hit

James Corden has mocked Will Smith’s Oscars drama by performing a parody song called “We Don’t Talk About Jada.”

During the Academy Awards ceremony on Sunday, Will walked onto the stage and slapped Chris Rock after he compared his wife Jada Pinkett Smith – who has the medical condition alopecia – to G.I. Jane.

For a segment of The Late Late Show with James Corden, the TV host called on his producers to discuss the highlights of the 2022 Academy Awards, but whenever one of them broached the subject of Will and Jada, he insisted, “We don’t talk about Jada, no, no, no,” – parodying the lyrics of the popular “Encanto” track, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno.”

“Will Smith rose up from the floor/ Second time that night/ No one in the room was bored /I know what comes next but anyway/ We don’t talk about Jada,” he sang, as dancers performed behind him. “We can talk about Kanye, That’s O.K./ We can talk about Denzel/ We can talk about Penelope Cruz/ But we don’t talk about Jada.”

On Monday night, Will posted an apology on his Instagram page in which he admitted he “deeply regret(s)” his “unacceptable and inexcusable” reaction to the joke.

Representatives for the Academy are to conduct a formal review of the incident.

Chris Rock Tickets Hike Up After Oscars From $46 to $411

Chris Rock seems to be more popular after getting slapped by Will Smith than has been in a minute.

Experts say tickets to the comedian’s shows have skyrocketed since “the greatest night in the history of television.”

In a Monday morning tweet from sales company TickPick, the company expressed just how much of an impact the “slap” was on ticket sales on their platform.

“We sold more tickets to see Chris Rock overnight than we did in the past month combined.”

In fact, Kyle Zorn, the marketing rep from the company, tweeted on Monday that not only are tickets selling out, but promoters are gouging the prices.

Eleven days before the Oscars incident, one might have scored a ticket to one of his upcoming shows for as cheap as $46. Now, the most inexpensive ticket one might get to one of Chris Rock’s shows will run you about $411.

This is excellent news for his upcoming “Ego Death” tour set for 38 performances and is scheduled to hit major market cities like New York, Las Vegas, Oakland, Chicago, and Toronto.

Since the incident, where Will Smith violated rock after making a poorly crafted joke about his wife’s bald head, both the Academy and the “Bad Boys” star issued statements.

“The Academy condemns the actions of Mr. Smith at last night’s show,” the group said in a statement.

It continued, “We have officially started a formal review around the incident and will explore further action and consequences in accordance with our Bylaws, Standards of Conduct, and California law.”

Smith wrote on his Instagram, “Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally.”

“I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.”

“I would also like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees, and everyone watching around the world. I would like to apologize to the Williams Family and my King Richard Family. I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us.”

“I am a work in progress,” he continued.

OJ Simpson Says He Would Have Gotten Life Sentence If He Smacked Chris Rock

OJ Simpson — of all people — joined in the conversation about Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars.

The disgraced football player criticized Will Smith’s actions in a Twitter video on Tuesday (March 29). OJ Simpson, who was acquitted of murder in 1995, sympathized with Will Smith but said the movie star went too far by smacking Chris Rock.

“It was unfortunate,” he opined. “I think Will was wrong. Look, I understood the feeling. Now, in my life, I’ve been through a lot of crap. When I was raising two young kids, every comedian in the country had a OJ routine.”

OJ Simpson continued, “And don’t think I wouldn’t wanna [b####] slap a couple of those guys. But you gotta accept it. It’s humor. I didn’t even think that [joke] was all that egregious. I thought it was a semi-unfunny joke, but I don’t know.”

The infamous felon claimed he would’ve been sentenced to life in prison if he smacked Chris Rock as Will Smith did. OJ Simpson referenced his past robbery conviction while avoiding any mention of the murder charges he faced in the ‘90s.

“I know this,” he said. “After what happened to me in Las Vegas, if I would’ve done that in front of a billion people watching around the world, they would’ve given me life without [parole]. I’m just saying.”

OJ Simpson served nine years in prison for armed robbery before being granted parole in 2017. His parole ended last December.

Elon Musk, Eminem Lyrics Collide In SEC Battle Over Free Speech

Elon Musk brought up Eminem in a legal battle with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

According to documents obtained by The Verge, Elon Musk referenced Eminem’s song “Without Me” in a court filing. The billionaire compared Slim Shady’s past issues with the FCC to a consent decree allegedly hindering the Tesla CEO’s free speech.

“The First Amendment requires that agencies proceed with caution when constitutional rights are at stake, not seek to pursue any and all novel theories that broaden their authority at the cost of individual freedom,” the filing reads. “Compare Eminem, “Without Me” (2002) (‘The [SEC] won’t let me be or let me be me so let me see / They tried to shut me down . . .’) with Citadel Broad. Co., Mem. Op. and Order, 17 F.C.C. Rcd 483 (2002) (rescinding penalty against radio station for playing Eminem song and noting ‘the First Amendment is a critical constitutional limitation that demands we proceed cautiously and with appropriate restraint’).”

Elon Musk faced scrutiny from the SEC for allegedly making false and misleading statements. The government took issue with him claiming he secured funds to take Tesla private on Twitter. He reached a settlement with the SEC in 2018.

As part of the deal, the SEC required monitoring of Elon Musk’s statements about Tesla on social media. A lawyer essentially became his “Twitter sitter,” reviewing potential posts before the Tesla boss shared his thoughts online.

Elon Musk wants a judge to terminate the consent decree. If granted, he’ll be able to post on Twitter without the SEC’s restrictions.

Kodak Black Ready To Pitch Movies Ideas To 50 Cent Or Tyler Perry

Kodak Black wants to pursue a career in the film industry.

The Atlantic Records artist publicly campaigned for an opportunity to pitch movie ideas to 50 Cent or Tyler Perry on Tuesday (March 29). Kodak Black claimed to have scripts ready for review in a post on Instagram Stories.

“I Got Movie Ideas I Wanna Pitch To Tyler Perry or 50 Cent!!!” he wrote. “If You Know Me And Can See Pass The Internet Antics Then You Know That Im Really An Intellectual Young Man, So With That Being Said I Have Some VERY INTERESTING Scripts.”

Kodak Black expressed his interest in the movie business following his recent request for early termination of his supervised release. He remains on probation after getting out of prison thanks to a pardon from Donald Trump.

The multi-platinum selling rapper was behind bars for falsifying information on federal forms to buy firearms. Donald Trump commuted Kodak Black’s sentence in January 2021 but left 36 months of supervised release intact.

Earlier this month, Kodak Black’s lawyer Bradford Cohen filed a motion asking the court to end his client’s probation. The attorney argued for early termination by citing “stable community reintegration, progressive strides toward supervision objections and no identifiable risk to the safety of any victim or the public.”

Read more about Cohen’s efforts to have the court terminate his client’s probation here.

Tiffany Haddish Roasted Reporter Over Outfit Comment: “This Is What Money Looks Like”

Tiffany Haddish has called out a reporter over a comment she made about her outfit for an Oscars party.

The “Girls Trip” actress wore a custom-made Dolce & Gabbana emerald green gown with a satin bustier to the 2022 Academy Awards on Sunday night and later changed into a lime green number with a beaded bodice.

While walking the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party, Tiffany was asked by an Entertainment Tonight journalist about her “little costume change.”

“I’m not wearing a costume, I’m wearing Dolce & Gabbana. It’s called an evening gown, darling,” Tiffany Haddish quipped. “No one’s paying me. I paid for this. This is custom. Thank you. This is not an acting gig, this is my life. This is what fame look like. This what success look like. This what money look like.”

However, Tiffany also noted that she was looking forward to kicking her high heels off.

“I’m uncomfortable, but I look good,” Tiffany Haddish laughed.

Lawyers Say Travis Scott Violated Gag Order In Astroworld Case

Rapper Travis Scott has been accused of violating a court-mandated gag order imposed after those killed or injured during the deadly crowd surge at his Astroworld Festival sued the rapper.

The lawyers believe that if Travis speaks about the deadly November 2021 incident publicly, he can sway potential jurors with his popularity.

According to ABC News, the gag order preventing the Houston megastar from talking to the press was issued when the lawsuits were initially filed.

The plaintiffs believe Scott made a statement earlier in March about his $5 million initiative Project Heal. Project Heal is a funding effort to address safety issues at festivals and large-scale events.

The project sprouted up after an investigation was launched by Houston police and federal officials into Travis Scott, concert promoter Live Nation and others involved in the tragedy.

The rapper wrote on his social media, “My team and I created Project HEAL to take much-needed action towards supporting real solutions that make all events the safest spaces they can possibly be. I will always honor the victims of the Astroworld tragedy who remain in my heart forever.”

Bob Hilliard, who represents Ezra Blount, the youngest person to die from injuries sustained during the Astroworld crowd surge, complained to a judge in a court hearing on Monday, March 28th.

Hilliard said Scott used his influence via social media platforms to talk about his efforts to work with concert safety, something at the root of the case.

Hilliard argues that the rapper’s comment violates what State District Judge Kristen Hawkins said about parties putting statements out to the public.

The attorney argued to Hawkins that the artist’s actions “did affect and dent the power of your order.”

Scott’s lawyer Stephen Brody disagrees.

Brody maintained his client did not violate the gag order but was announcing the initiative and information about scholarships to his fanbase, arguing charity has “been a constant in his life.”

The lawyers are working to come up with a compromise regarding the gag order to make the court-issued mandate clearer or resolve it.

The story is developing.

Steve Harvey On Oscar’s Slap: Will Knew Rock Wouldn’t Fight

Another day, and yet another opinion on the infamous 2022 Oscar’s Slap Down. So, Steve Harvey contends that Will Smith was behaving like a big bad bully. In fact, he believes that Smith only slapped Chris Rock because he knew that the comedian would not fight back on center stage.

Initially, the King of Comedy empathizes with Will’s uncomfortable predicament. “Here’s the thing of it. I understand defending the honor of your wife. I’m that dude. But you’re going to have to do something for that,” he states.

A post shared by Will Smith (@willsmith)

Be that as it may, the popular host suggests, “That joke was not worthy of the reaction.” So, a previously published Instagram post includes the following playful warning, “Me ‘n @jadapinkettsmith got all dressed up to choose chaos.” Another key point offers, “You can’t invite people from Philly or Baltimore nowhere!!”

Just the same, Steve Harvey is utterly disappointed by Smith’s emotional response. “If he was going to have a reaction. I think Will should have done the man thing and stepped to him after,” notes the culture critic. “And if he wanted to slap Chris then, he could of slapped Chris in the pressroom. And seen how it went.”

A post shared by The Neighborhood Talk (@theneighborhoodtalk)

Soon, the established comic reminds everyone, “He laughed at the joke until he saw Jada’s reaction…” Eventually, the author proposes that Will was acting out of character. “That’s a Hollywood move. To go up there on national TV slap another black man — turn around your back and walk off.”

“‘Cause, you know he can’t do nothing…You gonna slap the dude and turn around and walk off — you know in real life, that ain’t the way this gonna to go,” he spouts. Next, he reminds the masses of Chris’ origins. “Rock is a Jersey boy. So, no. I didn’t think the moment was that…He played too much into the moment. His acceptance speech, that was raggedy — apologizing to The Academy,” chides the veteran voice.

Ultimately, the motivational speaker believes Will Smith is going to encounter negative ramifications. “But, here’s what I think is going to happen. When this goes down and wake up the right way. There’s going to be some type of banning from the Oscar’s of Will Smith,” he says.

“Because look, they took Kanye off the Grammy’s for saying a racial slur to Trevor Noah. They took him off the Grammy’s,” argues the former talking head. Nonetheless, he then affirms, “The Oscar’s is all Hollywood is about. It’s their biggest moment… Denzel told him right. In your biggest moment is when the devil come for you.”

He has been prominently featured on a hit TV series (Wu-Tang: An American Saga), he has established himself as a staple in the New York City Hip-Hop community and he only sees greatness in his future.

But right now he is continuing to celebrate the new project HDIGH (How Did I Get Here?). But there’s far more to Dave East than amazing music, streaming television and swooning girls. Signified by the cover art to the project, East has meaningful music and depth that supports some of the more superficial aspects of his rise.

As the inaugural first guest for The Amazing AllHipHop Podcast, we delve deep into the nuances of his burgeoning success and also have a lot of fun. He talks about his current ambitions, his dreams and desires for his life, fatherhood and then some. This great conversation with Chuck Creekmu a.k.a. Jigsaw and SlopsShotYa is a great one. Recorded and filmed at WonWorld Studios, we make history right here. Our own history, just like East.

Aunt Viv On Will Smith’s Side After He Smacked ” Mean Spirited Chris Rock

Will Smith’s “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” co-star Janet Hubert came to his defense after he sensationally slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars.

Social media erupted with reactions after the Best Actor winner slapped Oscars presenter Chris over a joke he made at the expense of his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, with many celebrities weighing in.

Janet, who played Aunt Vivian in the TV sitcom, offered up her opinion on Monday and praised Will for standing up for his wife.

“I cannot tell you how many times I have wanted to slap the mess out of so many folks who have disrespected me. Will stood up for his wife, Chris Rock is always disrespecting Black women,” she tweeted. “Mean spirited hides behind comedy. BULL,” she said in a since-deleted tweet.

The actress continued over on Instagram, writing beside a photo of Will emotionally accepting his Best Actor Oscar later that evening.

“So PROUD OF YOU! Yes there is only so much one can take… sometimes you have to slap back,” she wrote. “Celebrate the win…nothing else matters. Both actions were incorrect but Chris didn’t need to go there.”

Sharing her opinion of the comedian, Janet added, “Met him once… it was enough for me… very mean spirited.”
